"I ken't see fer shite out 'ere!" The complaints of the nigh-piratical Kingler echoed through the mist, and there was no doubt in the minds of Albion's other three companions that this place indeed sucked rocks. However, only one of them could actually see any kind of well, and even that one wasn't a fan of this place. Albion himself was walking with an arm out in front of his face to cover away from the mist. "Sir Albion, are you okay?" the Dewott named Shelly asked, tugging gently on the plate armour at his side to ensure she was still with the group. The youngest of the lot, she still seemed to be the eternal youth even in her evolved form. "Doing just fine, Shelly - thank you for asking," he said with a smile, patting the little sea otter on the head, which earned an appreciative purr. Then, he turned to Alistair the Gallade, who walked at his other side. "What do we have, Alistair?" "Nothing, nothing and more nothing for now," commented the swordsman dryly. "Mist and little else." Albion let out a sigh and looked at the Wingull perched on his shoulder. "We need to find you some opponents." "Aye. We do." What more did the Wingull have to say? Albion knew not, for he was no mind-reader. And so, they trekked on - unsuspecting of that which was about to transpire. ((Continuing from Here)) .3 She slogged up the hill, her shoes and socks soaked through. Whoever decided it was a good idea to have an entire hill covered in mist was a freaking retard. Much like the Pidove on the belt. She was tempted to use the bird, because her defenses were astronomical, but she was also a derp. A very large derp who hit and took hits like a truck. It was tempting. However the bird had hit her in the face, and was a herpderp. She decided she'd decide at a later time which she wanted to use, Cleite or Ms. Herpderp there. For now, she and Luaith sloshed across the hill, trying to make their way to Mayriver with out running into anything. BAM! She did it anyway. And yes Albion and his Co were very much unsuspecting about what was going to happen. The short, five foot three inches, one hundred and ten pound girl walked full stride into the man. She slammed her chest against his and seemed to bounce off. For the third, or fifth time, since leaving Rose Town, Alex found herself on the ground out of her clumsiness. She shook her head, agrivating the already soaring headache from Herpderpmon, and glanced up at him. "Shit sorry. Didn't see you," she said, eyes falling on his other pokemon for a moment. She really hoped he didn't try to battle with her. She had this feeling it was going to go over very well if he did. 0.3 ![]() Albion didn't even see anything coming, and barely had time to register the shadow moving in front of him before the thick mist decided to part and show the form. It was Wingull who spotted it first, having the keen vision of his birdly comrades, and the critter squawked looudly and flapped his wings, even on Albion's shoulders. "Look out!" the bird shouted, until- crash! it was too late. The girl bounced off the armour and that was that. Albion's eyes cast around to try and find the form that had hit him, until he saw the girl crumpled on the ground. True to form, Albion's first reaction was to extend his hand down and allow her to take it so that, in true chivalric fashion, he could help the lady up. Nobody could ever say Albion was not living to his station. "My apologies - I couldn't see you in this fog. Here," he said, giving her a few moments to rise. So much for raising Wingull straight away. "My name's Albion Marius. Sorry about that, truly." Shelly the Dewott looked up to Albion, as did Alistair - and both of them shared a knowing glance before looking back up to their trainer. Are you both okay? Alistair asked on Shelly's behalf, knowing that not many humans could understand Pokémon speech as Albion could now. .1 to Steely? (I think that's how this works. ) Alex blinked at the hand given her and used it. She got a better view of him. Almost head to toe plate armor. How did he not sink into the ground in that? Regardless she blushed slightly as he helped her up, not used to the gesture. Hell, she'd spent the last few weeks fending for herself. This was... different. "Alexandra Gramme... but I prefer Alex most of the time," she said. She blinked, hearing a voice in her head. She looked around and stared at the... what was it? The green and white Pokemon. "I'm a'right. Just a little stunned," she replied to the voice. She looked at his Pokemon again. He must be a powerful trainer, to control such strong looking beasts. She was jealous, in a way. But she reminded herself she was new to the Trainer world, and couldn't get what she wanted by being jealous about it. [ Egg Counter: 18/20] |

0.3 ![]() The blonde-haired knight was glad that all this was going over rather well. With blue eyes he took in the woman that, now that she was on her feet, was more clear to his vision; she had, as he noticed rather quickly, nice legs. It was such a strange observation for him that he was almost blushing. Wow. What was coming over him? "It's a pleasure, Alex," Albion said, inclining his head and even adjusting the sword strapped to his left hip as a distraction from his wayward thoughts. Yes, he looked unbelievably out of place in this modern world; his Order was such an anachronism that, by now, Albion was used to funny looks. Shelly was still standing at his side, but in her youthful shyness, she was gravitating towards her seasoned battle partner Alistair. Rhun was standing there, defiant and proud as usual, and Wingulll was resting happily on Albion's shoulder. "Allow me to introduce, of course, Alistair the Gallade, Shelly the Dewott, Rhun the Kingler and the self-titled Wingull," Albion added, a hint of that noble and official filling his voice. Yes, his knighthood was starting to rear its head... if it hadn't already. Even the way he stood indicated that. However, his manners were of course impeccable when he looked down to the little Cyndaquil. "And what's your name?" he asked, kneeling down to be closer to the creature's own height. .3 She didn't notice him notice her legs. If she had, she would be redder than a tomato. She nodded at each Pokemon in turn, still slightly jealous about how strong his team seemed to be. She chuckled at the Wingull, who seemed so out of place in the team. Or perhaps he didn't but it was his size that did so? It was uncertain to her. She watched Albion bend down and look at Luaith. She watched Luaith look up and his back flare in flames for a moment, before slinking back to her legs. Her gaze flickered back to Albion and she watched him for a moment, lost in thought. "That's Luaith, my Cyndaquil. I also have Cleite, a Starly; Azha, a Azuril; Fiori, an Oddish; an I recently acquired a Pidove, who doesn't have a name," she said with a nod. She bent down, legs fluidly bending as she did so, and picked up her Cyndaquil. He climbed up her arm and sat on her shoulder, eying the Pokemon around them. "So, why are you out here, Albion?" she asked him, looking around the mists, just in case something else came to hit her in the head, or other body parts. [ Egg Counter : 19/20 ] |

0.3 ![]() The fear of the Cyndaquil was... well, Albion could relate. Even his team were a little hesitant. Or, at least, Shelly was, and the rest were trying their best not to be scary. In fact, Shelly was looking to Alistair for advice, and by now their partnership was strong enough for them to be able to converse without Albion needing to intrude. Or, at least, Alistair could harness his psychic powers to handle the situation. The rest were all worried for her sake. "I'm out here to help Wingull train a little. I'm an Apprentice for the Mayriver Gym and the Leader's sent me out to train him up. Right now I'm having more luck stumbling around like an idiot than doing anything productive, though..." Albion said, almost grumbling that last little bit, though. "How about you, Alex?" he inquired. In the meantime, Shelly had finally worked up the courage to say something. Yes. She was training as part of Sir Albion's team, and it was time she started acting like it, right? Yes, she thought, nodding her head once... the Dewott finally stepped forward and looked up to Luaith. "How do you do?" she asked, adding a little curtsy in. Of course, in the near-indecipherable tongue of Pokémon, it'd sound radically different to Alex. Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 2/5, Water 3/3 |

.3 Alex nodded, rubbing the Cyndaquil's head gently. He settled down, but she knew that he probably wasn't very happy regardless. "You're not an idiot," she found herself saying sometime of smile. She blinked as her mind caught up, and her cheeks flushed with heat. "Cause ya, know, no one except maybe your Wingull can see anything in this mist. I mean, the Pidove flew straight into my head earlier so..." She added this with a cough, trying to cover up her blush. WHAT THE HECK ALEX? Why were you blushing over a dude you just met?! She glanced at him, face slowly loosing its red tinge. Well she wasn't going to deny he was rather good looking. And for not meeting really anyone on her journey thus far... he was really rather good looking. "I'm on my way to Mayriver, and then I hope to go through the Halycon Forest, looking for a lion with wings, for HM Fly," she told him. Luaith looked down at the Dewott as she approached them. He eyed her, but couldn't smell anything threatening coming from her. She spoke and the fire mouse tilted his head. "How do I do? If you mean how am I, besides being annoyed that Alex can't keep standing for more than two steps, I am fine. Yourself, miss?" he asked, forcing himself to be civil with her. After all, she'd approached him, not the other way around. [ Egg Counter : 20/20 (Hatching next post, I guess. )] |

0.3 ![]() If they knew the other was a little red thinking about each other, this situation would be so much more interesting. However, their obliviousness was what prevented it from going there - but they were definitely taking notice of each other. Albion was looking at her just as much as she was him, and he liked what he saw. Though, he kept that behind the courteous mask of the chivalric knight. "Pidove? Is that another of these new Pokémon that've been cropping up? Other than the ones we found in the battles with Jgsei, I've only seen Shelly so far. What're they like?" Albion asked, genuinely curious about her experiences with these new creatures. Any and all information would prove itself useful later, Albion reckoned. Knowing was half the battle. Her journey, though, seemed just as curious. Heading after a legendary beast? Well, it seemed to be an interesting task. "Oh, that much I can relate to. I've never been into the Forest all that much, but I do wish to go and seek out the guardian of Dive myself one day," Albion said with a nod. "Perhaps you can tell me what it's like when you go and see it." In the meantime, there was Shelly, speaking to the creatures as Alistair watered Albion's little berry tree. The Dewott was smiling and, at least, relaxing just that little bit more as they conversed. It wasn't easy to make new friends that weren't being defensive, but at least Shelly was trying - for Albion's sake. "Oh, I understand. This place is scaring me with how misty it is. Other than that... well, I'm still learning about this new place." She, of course, referred to Opaddeka as a whole - this entire region was new to Shelly, being a native of Jgsei. Then, Alistair noticed the egg. Miss. Your egg. Are you prepared for its hatching? Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 3/5, Water 1/3 |

.3 She watched him as he spoke, the air about him not some thing she'd even encountered in her time before journeying. She rather liked it, if she could see it getting annoying after a while. But, ah, that was a matter for another time. "I'm guessing? And its a hardy little devil, but the one I have is... how do you put it... derp as all get out. It has the defense of a tank and hits like one, but is so derpy it kinda makes it seem silly. And I require Fly, because the beast I am looking for is high in the sky. I have a bit of a fascination with the Dragon types," she said, twirling a piece of hair in her fingers subconsciously. It was one of those things that she did when she was either nervous or bored. At least here it wasn't the latter. Luaith nodded at the otter. "I don't like the mist anymore than you do. You can see anything in it. My mistress has had a Paras all but mate with her leg, a weird looking bird fly into her head, and now crashing into your master there. Its not very good conditions," he said with a nod. Suddenly her body moved and Luaith found himself on the ground, again. He grumbled something under his breath, but looked up. "The.. egg is hatching?" she said, pulling the shaking egg out of her back and holding it in her hands. She was unsure as to what the Galade meant by being ready for it, but there wasn't chance to ask him. The egg shook and cracks form in the shell. One piece seemed to float off, and something red stuck out the hole that was left. The whole egg itself lifted out of her hands as the pieces of the shell fell off and littered the ground. She blinked and felt a weight in her hands, and one pressing against her mind for a moment. She looked at what had landed in her hands, and blinked a few times. She wasn't sure what it was, but the Pokemon sure seemed to recognize Alex. "Ralts!" it yawned. A sliver of thought ran through Alex's mind as the Pokemon, apparently a Ralts, spoke. Momma. |

0.3 ![]() "Hmmm." Derp was not in his normal nomenclature. However, in context, Albion could guess what she meant. "Perhaps it's just still adjusting. I wouldn't be surprised that eventually it becomes a functional member of your team. And... you like Dragons?" Albion contemplated a moment. "I'm a Water-type trainer, myself. I have one Pokémon you might like, then: Catriona, my Kingdra. Water and Dragon-types together, and she's a very fun creature to have around... if not a little flirty with the guys." That earned a half-grin from Albion; she was a horrible flirt, if not worse had she the chance. However, she'd gotten a lot better since her adoption many months ago. Spending time in the company of the proper and refined Albion tended to change things. Shelly nodded at Luaith and opened her mouth to speak, but it was all interrupted by the egg hatching; the entire team craned in for a closer look while Albion reached for a towel kept inside his small backpack. The towel itself was a solid black beach towel, but it would serve the purpose perfectly of keeping the creature warm and drying it from any of the remnants and juices within the egg. Albion handled it carefully, keeping it folded and holding it out with one arm for Alex to take. "Here. Keep it, if you'd like. I'm sure you could use it more than I can right now, if only for yourself." Slowly, Alistair moved closer. This was one of his kind. This was a creature that he was, by species, related to. He wasn't its direct family... but there was a bond. After all, the psychosphere ran deeper than simple mental communication. Welcome to the world, young one. the mental voice rang out. For a baby, Alistair needed to ensure that its talents were functional without scaring it. Communicating on a level it understood was an excellent start. Even the careful impression of knowledge could be done, as needed. How do you feel? Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 4/5, Water 2/3 |

.3 She listened to Albion as she stared at the Ralts, accepting the towel. She gently rubbed the Ralts off and wrapped it up in the towel. She noticed the Ralts looking (or at least it looked like it was looking) at the Galade, and place a little hand against Alex's bare skin. The weight on her mind pressed again, thought this time it was filled with colors and emotions, not words. I feel... fine. I don't know you. Should I? Momma seems to know you, but only barely. replied the Ralts, who tilted it's head to the side while looking at him. It wiggled and patted itself down. I'm all here. Alex watched the young Pokemon for a moment, struck by how rather... precise the Ralts could speak, or think rather. It was very impressive. She felt almost proud. A thought came to her and she shifted her arms to grab on of the empty Pokeballs from her bag. She felt a question slip into her mind as she did so. "Well, I might have hatched you, but that doesn't make you mine, in terms of the League regulations, right? So, we might as well make it official, or something of the sort," she said to the Ralts and to the group in general. She held the PokeBall out for the Ralts. The psychic pokemon tilted it's head to one side and thought for a moment. It then simply pressed a hand to the ball and was sucked in. There was a click. Well that settled that. IT was only a moment later did it pop back out and settle into her arms. The Ralts touched her mind again. Oh wait. It was female. "Alice. Her name is Alice." Alex blinked and eyed the Ralts, who simply snuggled into the blanket, in such away she could still see. ((Okay, totally not sure the protocol here so if I need to cut the whole giving it PokeBall it catching it part, I'll do it. And does someone need to give me how many hearts she has? Or do I just pick an number...)) |

0.1 ![]() No. It was simple fortuitous chance that I am here. My name is Alistair, assistant to Sir Albion Marius, the Gallade said mentally to the little Ralts, announcing his presence and standing taller just at that very thought. Working for a true-bred knight was an interesting thing - and being there to help him progress from squire to knight was a proud moment. Now hw could bear witness to the birth of one of his kind. Such an emotion would have been greater were he a father. Hm... perhaps one day. In the meantime, Albion was all smiles and happiness as he looked over the birth of the Ralts, noticing the way she shifted around in Albion's arms. He could empathise with the whole thing rather readily. He'd hatched an Eevee egg not too long ago; Jasmine was now a young Leafeon who could use sword skills with the best of them. Albion had an excellent cadre of blade instructors, after all - and the best of them was standing right near him in the form of his Gallade. "Congratulations, Alex, Alice," Albion said with a smile. "You must be so proud - here, Alice, eat this." The squire paused a moment before he reached into his berry pouch and extracted a Watmel berry, handing it to Alice to chew on. The juicy and all-around delicious Watmel berries were a great treat for Pokémon, and Albion thought it a good treat. He knew how this sort of things needed to be handled - the young needed to be coddled just a little, and under that helm of green was the needs of a young little creature. It was so nice to be a part of this moment. "Are you a new trainer, Alex?" Albion asked, curiosity setting in. "Most don't usually get their first egg early. I certainly didn't." .1 Alice, she said in return, though it wasn't necessarily necessary. The boy in the funky armor gave her a berry. Alice tilted her head for a moment before chomping down on it, an overwhelming need to eat overcoming her. It was so new and different, all these minds and senses. But the feelings of those around her were kind and pleasant, so she would be kind and pleasant. She nodded her head at Albion, and pressed a hand to her mistress. "She says to tell you the berry is delicious, and thank you," Alex told Albion. Apparently the little psychic wasn't ready to speak to everyone else, besides the Galade, or did not possess the ability to as of yet. That's was fine, in all respects. Albion's question made her blush a little and scratch her cheek, an action Alice questioned in her mind. She didn't want to admit that she was a starting trainer. She didn't want to look weak, not to him. Why, she hadn't the foggiest idea. But she didn't want to seem as such to him. Perhaps it was out of fear he would simply pat her on the head like an older sibling? She really didn't want him to be an older sibling. A friend, but not an older sibling friend. But she really couldn't lie now could she? Not with two psychics around. "I'm... yes. I am. And I'm not sure how I got her egg to begin with. It was just sitting in my PC when I reached Malral," she said softly, but holding her head high, even with her cheeks flushed. He was so much stronger, more well traveled than she. She felt very much like a little kid at that moment. |

0.3 ![]() Albion was all kind smiles at that niceness, and the knight bowed his head politely to the young Ralts as she thanked him. "It is my pleasure." All prim, proper and polite, Albion was certainly enjoying this. And, by the look of it, so was Alice. At least they were both a little relaxed... or he was. The fact that this egg had hatched was a blessing in disguise, for it kept his mind on where it needed to be and off the fact that this was a good-looking girl he'd bumped into. He was definitely cognizant of that fact, though, as he spoke. The knight was definitely giving her a kind and appreciative smile - definitely appreciating the fact she was easy on the eyes. "That's not too bad. The fact that you got an egg out of nowhere is excellent. You must have a secret admirer or a very good friend." Alistair paused a moment, then signaled to Rhun the Kingler to water the berry tree and pluck it of its fruits - using the small pincer, not the large one. It wouldn't do to have the precious berry tree crushed, after all. "It's okay to be new. Everyone has to start somewhere, right? I remember when it was just me and Winston - back then he was just a Ponyta - and we were alone, travelling and searching for more allies. I've been training for a year or so, and I'm glad for every moment of it. Never be ashamed to be new - that's when you learn the most, and that's when it's the most fun." .3 Alex watched him as he spoke, his smile making her blush. She fidgeted for a moment, unsure of what to do now. She still felt, well like a little kid, and part of her rebelled against that. She wanted to pout and say she wasn't a child, so it was necessary to talk to her like she was, but he wasn't. After a moment she spoke again. " Well then... why don't we get your Wingull some things to fight? I'm sure Alice could learn a thing or two by watching you guys fight... as could I," she said, the last part spoken at a whisper. And, she wasn't going to lie; she wanted to Albion in action. And without his armor on. Her mind hit her with the image and her face flushed perfectly red. Alice reeled and whined in her arms. That was... oh dear Arceus, why did her mind have to do that... and why was it so nice to look at? |

0.3 ![]() Alistair, Shelly and Albion all shared a look at that exact moment, and Alistair could not help but scour the psychosphere in that moment to see what she was thinking. If Gallades had eyebrows they would have raised, but Albion was finally starting to understand. Well then - that was a self-confidence boost. It was strange to have a Gallade as your wingman, but hey - it worked wonders. Albion didn't normally use Alistair's powers for that. Nor should he have - and nor did he want to. It was, simply, that Alistair thought it of vital interest to Albion that Alex's thoughts were turning to him and that he should be informed as such. "I agree. Ready, Wingull?" "As ready as I'll e'er be," the sea-bired replied in its usual crowing tongue. It'd sound like garbage to Alex's ears, but now her Ralts could translate. "Everyone set?" The chorus of 'Ready' came back from Rhun, who was hefting Albion's Psyduck-shaped berry pot with one massive claw, from Shelly who was trotting over to Alistair's side and from Alistair himself. Albion picked up his Pokétech and flicked it on, activating the Pokéradar, then waited to see where it'd get a reaction, then going to it. Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 2/5, Water 2/3 Pokéradar is on. .3 Alex decided to ignore the the look the three gave each other. Her pride was bruised enough with the image in her head, thank you very much. Alice placed a hand on hers again and questioned what just happened. Alex explained, in the most vaguest way possible, that her mind sometime threw things at her that she really would rather not see until she was alone or away from whoever the image or thought was tied to. Alice tilted her head and didn't seem to quite buy it, but it wasn't like she could do anything about it. "Let's go!" she said with a small cheer, walking slightly behind Albion. And then a curious thing happened. Luaith slid down into her arms with Alice and the Ralts put her other hand on his head. You know, mistress, I wouldn't trust him. But that's me, She blinked and raised a brow at her Cyndaquil and Alice. It wasn't Alice translating... it was Luaith's voice. Perhaps the Ralts was being a medium between the two. Whatever the case, it was sure different. You don't trust anyone, do you, Luaith? she replied as the group walked. I trust you. And Lady Alice. That's about it. Lady Alice... I like it, servant, said the Ralts in question. Luaith glared at Alice for a moment, commenting on how he wasn't her servant. Alex just chuckled quietly and made sure not to drop either of them on the ground. |

0.2 ![]() The mists of Murmur Valley were very effective at hiding any and all pokemon you might find - but of course, mist posed no obstacle to the sweep of a radar beam. Nor did it pose any obstacle to the sophisticated monitoring equipment and interpretation software in the PokeRadar. But y'know, if you ever needed to use a radio, you could... The PokeRadar swings around, looking for a life sign to lock onto. It finds one, and the indicator swings around to point out to the left, the little crackly beep of static fluctuating as the indicator pans back and forth to pinpoint the exact direction. Once locked on, the PokeRadar emits a short 'ping!, and you're off into the mists. After a few minutes of searching, you begin to hear an odd buzzing sound, and you can just make out a dancing, erratic light in the distance that winks in and out of existence. Closing the distance, you make out the vague forms of two pokemon, then the slightly fuzzy outline of two bug pokemon. Finally, you're close enough to make out a Volbeat, who's glowing tail is the source of the light you saw, executing a slow, waltz-like dance around an Illumise, wings buzzing as it takes brief, floating leaps, slowed down by his wings to make it look like a dream sequence of sorts. The Illumise is obviously enjoying the attention, and turns her head to keep the Volbeat in sight as he spins around behind her and continues circling. As he comes back around in front again, the Illumise turns in your direction and sees you. Letting out a surprised chatter, she jumps back a step, while the Volbeat spins round to find the cause of the disturbance. He backs up and shields the Illumise, looking at you gaurdedly, tail light pulsing as he readies himself for whatever you had in mind. -------------- 39 117/117~ Standing in front of Illumise 39 117/117~ Standing behind Volbeat |

0.3 ![]() And there it was - their first opponent. Opponents, really, considering there was two of them, but that was the way of things. And to make it worse, they were just an innocent couple, trying to spend some time together. Albion was almost regretting his decision to do this - but sometimes a few sacrifices had to be made for duty. "Arceus protect me for that which I am about to do," he murmured to himself, uncaring as to whether Alex heard him. If she knew that he had a conscience, was that such a bad thing? Really? He was a regular person in the end, and Albion had to absolve a guilty conscience of the things that he wished he didn't have to do. Unfortunately, these things weren't just happening, they were a necessity. Curse duty. Then... "Take the Volbeat. Lead with a Hurricane, then an Air Slash." The bird nodded its assent and took to the air, flapping its wings. It was best to lead in with a move that confused the foe before taking on the real offensive manoeuvre. This way, the enemy was seeing stars before it got any worse - and, of course, the conventional wisdom that one strong enemy was better than two weakened ones took hold in Albion's mind. This was how it was done. Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 3/5, Water 3/3 40 120/120Hurricane ~ Air Slash @Volbeat vs 39 117/117~ Standing in front of Illumise 39 117/117~ Standing behind Volbeat |

0.2 ![]() The Wingull started off strong, spinning up a tornado that cut through the mist, briefly blowing back the veil and creating a battle ring of sorts. The tornado caught the Volbeat full on, throwing him into the air and thrashing him about like a ragdoll, before dumping him unceremoniously on the ground. The Illumise rushed to the Volbeat's side, bending down to check on him as he got to his feet. The Volbeat shook his head, clearing the stars from his vision, and looked up at the Illumise. A brief, unspoken look, a nod of consensus, and the two bugs turned to face their opponent, splitting up and flanking the Wingull, who was already advancing for his next attack. The Illumise tilted its head coquettishly to the side, giving the Wingull an ostentatious wink and a blown kiss, before darting out of the Wingull's way. It was so outrageous that it was obviously a sham - but still, Charm had a tendency to work, regardless of the sincerity behind it. Meanwhile, the Volbeat braced, waiting for the bird to start its dive for the Air Slash attack, before dodging to the side in a quick pirouette. His tail flashed livid purple, sending off a dancing, erattic ball of light that zipped forward and latched onto the Wingull, spinning round him a few times. The Confuse Ray did its job - Wingull banked sharply, going into a tight roll as he lost all sense of balance and crashed into the damp earth of Murmur Valley. He scrambled to his feet, getting ready to take wing again - only to find himself surrounded. The flanking maneuver had been a success, and the two bugs were now on opposite sides of the Wingull. Looking across at each other, they both fanned out their wings and set them flapping, letting out a loud, jarring buzz of noise that was painful on your ears where you stood. Wingull, being at the epicentre of the audio barrage, was almost physically battered back into the ground. By the time the two bugs relented, Wingull was looking much worse for wear. The only consolation was that the Volbeat wasn't looking too hot either - his posture was slumped, and he was taking shallow, ragged breaths. He wouldn't be able to take another hit, whatever you threw at him. --------------

0.3 ![]() This was not going to plan. This was not going to plan at all - but at least Albion had backups. Curse Johnny for making this task hard, but nonetheless, Albion would make this work. Man, he'd just had his Wingull trashed and injured in front of Alex, and it was almost shameful. No, Albion was going to have to do this some other way, and he knew just how to do it. He wasn't a water trainer for nothing. "Come on back, Wingull," Albion said, recalling the bird to the spot on his arm and out of the battle. "Alistair! Rhun! Finish it!" And Albion meant finish it. Rhun the Kingler, with one last jet of spray on the berry tree to water it, dashed forward, as the Gallade ran at his side, Together, their massive pincer and two green blades seemed like dangerous weapons of destruction, which was exactly what they were; the Kingler was strong enough to, as his claw was wreathed with water, crush the Illumise in a single powerful blow of his signature technique: Crabhammer. The heavy claw would be enough to send the bug flying. The Gallade, on the other hand, would cover directly for Wingull, and apply the two sword-blades in a dancing strike that would cleave the bug in twain. In the meantime, Albion saw fit to spray the Wingull with a Super Potion. He deserved it for his hard work trying to take on these enemies. Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 4/5, Water 1/3

0.3 ![]() That last exchange had certainly gone against you; but pokemon battles were all about sudden changes in the odds. And bringing out two high-leveled pokemon would certainly cause one. Alistair struck fast and hard, elbow blades sweeping down in a vicious jab that caught the Volbeat on the shoulder and sent him rolling, crumpling into a heap on the grass. The Illumise, distracted by her comrade's fall, didn't see the Kingler bearing down on her until the shadow of its massive claw loomed overhead. The Illumise scrambled to get clear - but Crabhammer was a powerful move, and the shockwave of the claw striking down was more than enough to hit the Illumise with a concussion that left it unconscious on the ground, next to the Volbeat. The mists swirled back in as the battle ended, the briefly cleared patch of marshy ground once again shrouded in featureless, grey fog. Time for rest, recuperation, relationship building... whatever took your fancy. --------------

What a difficult and irritating task that had been. It was over, and Albion hung his head. What an utter failure that had been - he couldn't go and bear that shame. He'd interrupted a couple and managed to get Wingull hurt. The bird was now standing on his shoulder, with some obvious wounds... but now, there weren't too many. "How do you feel?" Albion asked the bird. "Could be worse," the bird grunted back. Albion nodded and left it at that, while Rhun and Alistair returned to his side. Carefully, Albion patted Shelly on the head, a sad smile on his face. "That didn't go as well as I thought it would," Albion told Alex suddenly, all kinds of "Sorry you had to see that. Duty is duty." Could this possibly get any worse? |

.3 Alex watched silently, marvoling in how much power his Pokemon had. So much more than her own, but then again they were higher in experience. She watched, not making much comment but a widening of her eyes when the bugs teamed up on Wingull, until a tiny hand and a presence in her mind distracted her. He feels all funny, like he's upset that Wingull got teamed up on, but in a different way. I can't really... said Alice to her. Alex felt the little Psychic purruse her mind for a moment, before finding a good word (she guessed this was that Pokemon was doing anyway). Embarrased, I think the word is from your memories. Alex blinked at the Ralts and then back at Albion and the battle in front of her. He was... embarrassed that the bugs decided that Wingull was their target today? She couldn't really find a reason why the man would need to feel embarrassed unless... I think he's trying to show off, Alice. Impress me with his battling skills. Alex blinked at his back for a moment before exploding into a fit of giggles. Alice gave her a questioning thought but Alex only let the hilarity of the situation bubble over more. Albion thought he needed to show off for her? Really? That was... so hilarious. And flattering, but rather hilarious. She'd never had a guy try to show off for her. It was.. an interesting experience. By the time the battle was done, Alex had mostly pulled herself together, the odd giggle still coming from her. What he said to her sobered her up some. "You're apologizing... for "making" me watch two bugs deciding Wingull would be who they beat on today, and that you couldn't single time them? Really Albion... ya need to get out into the world with it comes to us women," she said with a smirk, Luaith curling into her neck. Really... perhaps his "knight" status was going to his head. "In other words. Shit happens." |

0.1 ![]() Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 1/5, Water 3/3 He was so worried. He was rather worried, thinking about it. How he wished he could express the inner battle being fought, blades crossing furiously in that part of the human psyche called the subconscious. The laws that dictated his very life were currently in conflict, for while duty was duty... an oath was an oath. Have I not sworn the oath to follow the Code? he chided himself, looking at the ground, refusing - for the moment - to look at Alex. He couldn't think of how to properly address the situation, and 'shit happens' wasn't in his vocabulary. Not quite that way, anyway. How... how could he possibly address this? This was depressing to think about, but he had to resolve it. Albion plopped down on the grass below his feet, a concerned look on his face as he stared right into Alistair's eyes. He was the only one who could relate directly because they followed the same code. To refrain from the wanton giving of offence. To persevere to the end in any enterprise begun. Is this duty or violence? Never in his life had he attacked a Pokémon out of the sheer want to fight. But was this different? Was this really a matter of fighting? He'd intruded on two young lovers and beaten them until they were unconscious - or, he had ordered such to happen. That was just pulling the trigger of the gun, which made him just as guilty. However, Johnny had ordered him to train this Wingull, and there was also the rule that one had to obey those placed in authority. By Arceus. "There are times I really hate being a knight," Albion muttered. "It's bloody complicated." Though, he turned to Alex. "I... if you had two conflicting moral rules, ones you had sworn your life to live by, what would you do?" |

.3 The question made her eyebrow raise in question. Alice placed a hand on hers again, relaying the vibe she was getting from Albion, sifting through her memories as she needed words or to better explain herself. He's... conflicted. He doesn't want to hurt things, but he has to train, she said. Alex let out a sigh and shifted the Ralts in her arms. "What does the code say... no no, nevermind," said the girl, shaking her head. "You do what you have to do because that is what's right. In war, you kill because if you do not, you or your homeland will die. In Pokemon battles, you fight and command your Pokemon to do so because they need the experience, and because its what we do." The short girl gestured to herself. "I, up until this point, have been traveling, fighting those I come across. Sometimes, I have an idea of capturing them so I can help them grow even more strong, or I'm just getting back at them for knocking me into a hole. Sometimes I help them, like my Oddish. Other times, I battle them. There are things I wish to do that I cannot do at the stage I am now, and the only way to get stronger is to fight," finished Alex, Luaith giving a call and nodding his head. Alice pressed a hand to Alex, questing the emotion in her. Alex was not strong, but she knew what she had to do. And she'd do what she had to grow stronger, and get into the skies. It was her goal in life, and nothing, not even Albion, was going to keep her from it. |

0.3 ![]() Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 2/5, Water 1/3 ...she's right, isn't she? Naturally. I wasn't sure myself, but I had a feeling this was it. Albion, despite what you may think, we're born to fight. We're born into a world more violent than that of humankind - which sounds despicable, I know, but we have such talent that we can take it. Don't worry about us. Alex and Alistair were both supporting him. Yes, it was a minor roadblock, but they were right. This was duuty. He had a duty to be stronger, to fight. He'd fought in war, but it was for the defence of people. Did he not need to be ready to prosecute such wars himself? Did he not need to be ready to handle the other challenges thrown at him? These things were difficult. In fact they were anything but easy, and Albion needed to handle it. Slowly, he reached a hand down and pushed up from the ground, levering himself upwards in a single, fluid motion. Now he was standing in front of Alex, looking at her with a smile growing on his lips. "Sorry. Momentary weakness. Thanks - you're absolutely right. I should stop being stupid and just get it out of the way." And, as thanks, he put his right hand on her shoulder and leaned in to kiss her on the forehead. Just once, gently, as a sign of affection. Alistair shook his head and watered the berry tree. Kids. Edited by Kirin, Apr 13 2011, 10:32 PM.

.3 She froze. Her eyes circled up for a moment, staring at the underside of his chin and throat, then back down to stare at his chest. His mouth... her forehead... connected what now? Her brain ground to a halt and grinded the gears. What the... had just happened? Alice pressed a hand to Alex, and looked at the Gallade. I think you master broke her... she said with concern, tried to figure out what was going on with Alex. The girl blinked after a moment. A few gears slipped, but suddenly her mind was very much working again. She jumped back a little suddenly, face the color of his Kingler's shell. She watched him with wide eyes before turning away in embarrassment. "Y-yer wel-l-come," she said rather pathetically. Great. Did he really have to do that? She was all flustered and looked like a love sick school girl! She was not a love sick school girl! She wasn't even love sick! She was just very confused as to the very, very... close show of affection (affection what?!). Alice whined softly and pressed her face into Alex's chest. She willed the emotions to stop. Pay it no mind, young Alice - these are human affairs. Albion watched, and waited, eyes lowered respectfully as Alex made her stuttering little statement. Well, at least he didn't get slapped, he thought to himself with wry amusement. That was definitely a good thing. Albion actually liked doing that, even if she was a little conflicted on the issue. While Alistair and Alice did their inevitable mental conversation, his voice dropped just a little quieter for her to hear. "Consider it a gift... a thank-you for helping me see what my blindness to duty clouds." The knight's hands, covered in steely plates, came up to her shoulders and stayed there for a moment. He looked carefully into her eyes as if to look deep into her soul and find... something, nothing but warmth across his features. . What it was, even he wasn't sure, but he found it and smiled because of it. Then, the masquerade all fell away, a smile still on his lips as his hands fell from her shoulders and his eyes turned away. "So. Shall we continue?" |

.3 Oh I see. I shall ignore it then. said the Ralts who simply decided to pat Alex on the hand and remain silent. IT was much easier this way she decided. Alex blinked again, her face redder then the Kingler's. He stared at her, looking for something in her eyes, but Alex was sure that only intense embarrassment was in there. Note to self: Get to Mayriver, and run away as fast as possible. There were many reasons for this. As nice as Albion was to have around, his chivalry thing was a little sickening to be around. Alex did what she had to do, whether it was right or not. This one probably didn't have any idea of what half the code probably said, if this was any indication. And did he really have to kiss her? Even just on the forehead? Really? It really wasn't necessary. At all. In fact, the staring into her eyes was fucking creepy. She breathed a sigh of relief when he stopped and asked if they should continue. Oh yes thank you so much creepy man! "Yes, yes. We should," she said, taking a few steps away from him and starting to walk forward. |

0.3 ![]() Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 4/5, Water 3/3 It's for the best. Understanding humans is harder than understanding mathematics, Alistair finished finally, and left it at that. For a youngling, this Ralts was certainly intelligent - but he would expect no less from one of his kind. Certainly, being present for this one's growth would be a good idea. In the meantime, Albion had to recoup his loss. He needed to find something to get back at all this, and then resume the battle that he intended to win. After all, there'd be fighting eventually, and this time he would not go into it half-hearted. After all, he was a Mayriver apprentice. He'd faced tougher than this, hadn't he? He had a team that could not be beaten in single combat. He had allies that could not be stopped. Right then. Alex took the lead and Albion followed, having Rhun heft the berry tree up as he was coming to do, thanks to the insanely powerful claw he bore. It was a great workout, or so the Kingler liked to think; lifting that thing with one claw was a great way to train his control and balance with the massive weapon. Albion allowed his team to fall in, and then contemplated what would come next. Again, the Poké Radar was brought out and activated, and Albion searched for... something. Something that hopefully wasn't as tough as the last bunch, anyway. That was a bad situation that he would not have repeated for the life of him. "So, Alex," Albion asked suddenly, "Do you have a favourite type of Pokémon?" Poké Radar is on. |

It climbs, turns round, and pauses at the apex of its swoop to let you see the vibrant yellow-and-black of a Beedrill. .2 The question lifted her eyebrows. Did she have a favorite type of pokemon? Well duh. Dragons. There was a reason a pair of Charizard wings were tattooed into her back. She loved them. It probably stemmed from her father owning a Charizard himself when she was younger, though the large fire dragon disappeared when she was fourteen. Her father would tell her stories of flight and the dragons he used to train before he released them back into the wild. A soft smile came to her lips as she remembered his stories. In a way it was bittersweet; her father rarely was around anymore, and when he was he was tired and grouchy. Gone were the days of story telling and what not. "Dragons. And I suppose fire types as well," she said after a moment, rubbing Luaith's head. Fire types were powerful. She was awed by them. Between those two types, there was so much raw power, she felt humbled. She admired them, wishing to be as strong as them. Perhaps, one day she would be. Untill then. She jumped at the sound of the Beedrill and froze, incredibly still. She'd never liked Beedrill. To be frank, they scared the shit out of her. So, with one so close, she kept as perfectly still as possible, not wanting to attract its attention. She was quite sure if she did, she'd run all the way to Mayriver. |

0.3 ![]() Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 5/5, Water 1/3 Need berry mod Dragons, huh? "I have a part-Dragon Pokémon in the form of my Kingdra, Catriona. I didn't bring her, sadly... though, perhaps I would introduce you one day. If you couldn't tell, my affinity is Water - quite the opposite to your fire, isn't it?" Albion said, not realising that, truthfully, fire and water was the best description for the two of them ever. It would be a lasting metaphor, but he would not know that. Alistair, meanwhile, watered the berry tree... and saw something out of the corner of his eye. "And I do have a Fire-type that-" Duck! Albion suddenly rolled out of the way, springing up with his right hand going for his sword as the Beedrill's spikes struck the ground. It was a Pokémon he'd not seen before, and it looked rather terrifying - and it also looked like perfect prey for Wingull. In fact, Albion could not be happier at how this worked out. "Go, Wingull! Take it out - start strong!" The Wingull suddenly shot high up, having left Albion's shoulder when he rolled. From a high vantage point, the sea-bird flapping its wings strongly to summon up a hurricane to blow the bug around. Perhaps a few strikes of this calibre would be enough to take out this bug before any serious injuries happened.

0.3 ![]() 3 WatmelWingull went on the attack, calling up a swirling Maelstrom that caught the Beedrill in its vortex and thrashed it around. Beedrill were nothing if not strong, however - while the tempest was still howling, it righted itself and powered its way out of the wind, swooping down in a low, fast dive-bomb at Wingull. A poison-tipped needle arm extended, pointing lance-like at the bird. Wingull tried to escape, but alas, the Beedrill was too quick for him. The needle caught Wingull square in the jaw, sending him crashing into the ground as the Beedrill swooped up and turned around, clashing its needle-arms together in defiance as it prepared to go on the attack again. But was that a sense of false bravado you detected in its manner? That hurricane had been powerful, after all, and the Beedrill didn't look particularly sprightly... --------------

0.3 ![]() Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 1/5, Water 2/3 Damnit! Albion had to physically bite the curse back, not allowing himself to swear, especially not in front of a lady - it simply was not proper. However, there was still the fact that Wingull was unsconsious, and he could not train an unconscious Pokémon without a Revive... which he lacked. He'd sold the last one, and that meant problems. Wingull was so close in taking it out, but the victor was the bee. The lack of evolution was the problem - perhaps if Wingull was evolved, and of higher level, this would have been easier. It was unfortunate. "So close... Alistair, if you'd please." The Gallade, prompted by his trainer to go and finish off the opponent, nodded once in an agreeable understanding of the orders. Yes, finishing off this Beedrill would be a simple matter; faster and stronger than his gold and black opponent, Alistair would handle the situation in a single strike of a purple-glowing blade. At least, for his sake, Alistair could make this something of a success, Albion didn't look pleased, as he recalled the bird. The poor thing had tried so hard, too.

0.2 ![]() And a single strike was all it took. Even before the Beedrill began its attack dive, Alistair swung his elbow blade around, sending a vivid purple scythe of light spinning into the sky, catching the Beedrill under the chin. The bug plummetted, going down like a broken kite. At least the ground was soft enough to cushion its fall - that looked like it hurt. --------------

0.2 ![]() Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 2/5, Water 3/3 And with that, it was over. Albion had Alistair return to his side, fianlly having destroyed the bee with a single hit that, even under normal circumstances, would have been enough to take it down in a single blow. Alistair's swordsmanship was exemplary, Albion noted with some pride. Yes, it was an honour to work with such a talented warrior. "Just like that, huh? Excellent work, Alistair," the knight said with a smile. Thank you, Albion. It was nothing. Then, finally, the knight looked to Alex. "Well, it looks like training's cancelled until I return to Mayriver... sadly, I'll need to get back to work soon if only to appease Captain Johnny. I don't like slacking off, anyway." And who knew what news awaited him when he returned to the city? The military liked to call him up a lot, but as a ship's captain in his own right, he had a lot of clout with his orders and considerable independence to execute them. These things, besides, took time. Time that he had plenty of. |

.3 Alex was having issues keeping Luaith in check. The little mouse wanted to blast the bug with fire and give the Wingull a good smack upside the head. Alex had placed Alice on her shoulder as she struggled to get her Pokemon under control. She caught, out of her eye, Alistar's attack, though part of it was missed at Luaith shot out of her arms. She cursed and pulled his Pokeball off her belt. "Damnit Luaith! Return!" she called. The little red light surged forward and grabbed hold of Luaith, and sucked him back off. She stared at the ball with a glare. "You aren't strong enough to go after that yet." She clipped the ball back to her belt. She glanced at Albion. "A'right. I was headed in that direction to begin with. Gotta go find a flying lion after all. Though, perhaps I'll see about taking on the gym first. Fiori could learn a few things from that," she said, pulling Alice back into her arms. The little Ralts curled up in her elbow, one hand on hers, just to keep a form of connect. "I'll accompany you there and then we'll go our ways, mkay?" |

0.3 ![]() Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 3/5, Water 1/3 "Well, I think that's a reasonable idea," Albion said calmly, staring at the little Cyndaquil as it flailed around just that little bit in its attempt to break free of its trainer and, unbeknownst to Albion, try and cause some pain to his recalled Wingull. Ah, well. The situation wasn't all that bad. Alistair took a moment to water the tree as Albion stared out over the valley, staring as much as he could through the mist... and, of course, failing to do so. This place wasn't the best of omens, Albion considered. But if she wished to challenge the Gym, then... "Come on, then. I'll show you where the Gym is and introduce you to Captain Johnny... then we'll see about you challenging him." Now, under most normal circumstances, a challenger could be made to go through a battle with an Apprentice if the leader wasn't sure of their skill. Just as much as the apprentices saw battle, the leader did too - and the ex-Team Aqua pirate was truly a paragon of the Water-type, with his sea-roughened ways and his cavalier form of speech. Albion had a feeling that Alex would not need to go through an apprentice, though. If she wanted to go and find a legendary beast, then a gym challenge would be a good preparation - or, perhaps it'd be the other way around. Who knew? |

.3 She blinked for a moment, and then remembered that he was an apprentice at the gym there. Alex thought for a moment. Well, that was fortuitous, was it not? Though, would she have to fight Albion? She was quite sure her Pokemon couldn't do it, no matter how easy he went on her. Which he probably wasn't allowed to do either. Why are you confused? came the Ralts' thoughts. She glanced down at the little Psychic. What do you mean, confused? she asked in return as she followed Albion, rather confused as to what brought this on, Well, Alistar says there's a thing between you two. And you seem to have something for him. Alex blinked. Just how powerful of a Psychic was Alice? Granted, the whole time she'd felt a constant presence in her mind, like some one listening to her and looking through her memories. Which was fine, but apparently Alice was very good at this. I... oh fine, yes. I might have a "thing" for him. I might. Not do. And miss mind reader, why am I confused, hmm? she asked, persing her lips. You simply are feeling conflicted as to whether you actually like him or not, and whether he's even someone you'd like to hang around afterwards. You're grateful he wants to help, but also want to just go and do your own thing because we need training and you have a winged lion to find. You also wonder why the dreams have come back and why there's something familiar about the creature, and- That is enough, Alice. Remember who is still here if you would. There are things that are best left to our link, and our link only do you understand me? The venom in her thoughts shocked the little Feeling Pokemon into shutting up and curling up silently in her arms. Alex grumbled in her mind for a moment before shaking her head and letting it go. Now was not the time to deal with all of that, thank you very much. |

0.3 ![]() Rich Watmel Tree: Berry 4/5, Water 2/3 "Everyone set?" Albion asked, looking to his three Pokémon that were still outside their balls. After all, they did enjoy walking - and, for the most part, they'd kept quiet. After all, it was a bit boring to have a one-sided conversation with another human that couldn't actually understand without the help of a translator. Alistair was the first to react. While he didn't know the contents of the conversation - he could have, but he refused to intrude out of respect for their privacy - he knew that one was going on and understood very well that Alice was still coming to terms with her power. These things happened, and the Gallade knew them well. "Ready when you are, Albion," he said amenably. It was just about time to leave. "Ready, Sir Albion!" the Dewott said. Shelly's cheerful voice was a pleasant reminder that even despite all that, there were still good things to see and do, and provided just that hope for the future with the bight spark of youthful glee on her face. She was a good addition to the team for that very reason, and Albion would not have had it any other way. Finally, Rhun the Kingler hefted up the berry tree and carried it within his massive claw. "Yeah, ah'm ready," he added gruffly. He was starting to sound a little bit like a pirate, and that much amused Albion. He did wonder what the Kingler would look like with an eyepatch on... That was that, however. Albion took a few steps, ensuring all of his gear was present as the armour-clad knight looked to Alex. "Ready to go?" |

.3 Alex nodded, giving Albion a smile. It was definately time to get out of this mist. The girl readjusted Alice in her arms, wrapping the little pokemon up in the towel and pulled out her PokeTech to determine which way was Mayriver. She pointed to one side. "That'a'way!" she said, striking a rather silly pose to show the direction. Really, she kind of looked like one of those hat and short boy who journey for greatness, but have no idea what the hell they're doing. At all. It was rather quite amusing. AND WITH THAT! THEY HEADED TO MAYRIVER, YES YES? |
