Word Count: 3000 Summary: Eisen and Albion are dispatched to Kevin Baconville to find the truth about the new threat on the block, Talon - and what they find is terrifying. Notes: Mav shall be reading/grading/etc this. We have to write this in 3000 words or less. Goals: OME starters of Oshawott for Albion and Snivy for Eisen. Is this information current, Captain? There were three of them studying the holographic map of Kevin Baconville. First was Captain Mitchell Pierce, the commander of the OMEs division stationed in Kevin Baconville. Wearing combat fatigues with a sidearm strapped to him, he looked every bit the image of a commanding officer in the military. Second was Albion Marius, a naval officer and, on this mission, a bodyguard, chosen for his expertise in handling weaponry and security tactics. Finally, there was Eisen Reynard, a trained stealth and intelligence-gathering operative or so most were told, anyway. The latter two of them were in the city on a very important special mission, hand-picked for their talents. Close enough to current as its gonna get, Corporal, the Captain said, tugging on the brim of his cap. It came in last night, which might not sound like much, but this is now old news in Intel. With all the gang warfare springing up rapidly over the past few weeks, we need to contain it. We have information that a new team is taking over KB they call themselves Talon. In short, theyre dangerous, armed, and could jeopardize our operations here. We need to find their HQ. Well that didnt sound so hard. Albions newfound look of confidence earned a stare from the Captain. Dont underestimate these guys. They run murders like never before. Rumour has it their leader, the Seer, was the one who knocked off Team Rocket from KB. Single-handedly. Oh, shit. Edited by Kirin, Apr 4 2011, 12:25 AM.

"Not like killing people is difficult," Eisen said suddenly, looking between the two men. Oh, right... neither of them knew. Nobody in the OME did, yet, which was fine with her. Her expression didn't change from a bored neutral one and she shrugged her shoulders. "All I have to do is find their headquarters, and knighty here has to keep me safe, right? That's cake," she tapped her cane on the ground, looking so completely different from the other two in her standard clothing. She knew it'd be best to ditch the extra stuff for this mission, but she was going to do that on the way out. "Either way, let's get going," she turned slightly, peering at the pair with just her red eye, "The sooner we get this done, the better. Right, fellas?" |

Albion just shook his head. She was so ready to jump into it, ignoring protocol she was probably good at what she did, in fairness. The best ones were always a little out of touch with reality anyway. His demeanour took on a pleasant tone as both of them were handed a manila folder, which opened to reveal a dossier on their first lead into the organisation that theyd been tasked to investigate. Meet Tony Phelps. This guys a local mobster. The kingpin of a couple of cheap laundromats and some convenience stores. He has a place nearby that weve been looking to get in, and I think the both of you now have reason enough to go investigate. The captain gripped the edge of the map table, looking seriously at the both of them. You have your orders. Dont mess this up. Weve only got one chance. Albion left the dossier on the map table, saluted to the Captain, and then left. First he collected his assault rifle from the armoury, and then waited for the right moment. Eisen would be taking the lead, and he would back her up. After all, ladies first and this lady was dangerous. Edited by Kirin, Apr 3 2011, 09:16 PM.

The 'fight' hadn't even really been a fight. Eisen was surprised time and time again how very easy everything became when Jack Noir the zangoose was involved. When they left the ship, she'd ditched her cape, hat, and cane and picked up a revolver just in case. She didn't even have time to reach for it, Jack was that quick. They found the man pretty easily, and as soon as Jack saw him, he rushed the guy. They had him dragged into a back room and tied up within five minutes. Eisen had only brought Coyote and Jack with her, so they could keep a low profile. The honchkrow was too busy inspecting the various boxes of goods to really pay attention as Jack drove his claws into the man's leg. The Reynard girl seemed to be trying to ignore what was going on for the moment, just letting Jack do whatever he wanted to. "So... you can either tell us where this Talon place is or Jack here is going to remove your organs. Starting from the bottom," Eisen grinned at the guy, arms crossed. "I'm not touching that," the zangoose hissed, drawing a deep slash down the man's leg with his teeth bared. |

While Private Reynard was dealing with the man, Albion was handling the cleanup of the place theyd walked into, plus standing guard outside the door. He didnt exactly want to be in there while the interrogation happened. Her methods were not well, they werent what Albion considered fair, or savoury. Hed just have to distance himself as much as possible and, wherever he could, gloss over it in the after-action report and save the rest for his eventual memoirs. So, he stood their, rifle in hand, watching for anyone who would try to enter. None came. In the meantime, Eisens interrogation went particularly well. The man in question was in his forties, balding, looked well, more like a pimp than a businessman with all the gold chains and coats he liked to wear. And he valued his organs very much. Especially when they were attached to his body and functional. Then there was the scream and even Albion flinched at its terror. She was seriously ruthless. Okay! Okay! Fine! he shouted, desperately wanting to leave them where they were while the blood seeped down his leg. Theres a building down on Archer Street. Hawks Nest Financiers, Inc. Check them out. |

She didn't flinch at the scream. Eisen never flinched. Her bird did though, jumping with a flutter of feathers and staring over at them, while Jack narrowed his eyes and bared a single claw at the man as a threat. When Tony coughed up the location without too much trouble, she smiled simply at him, and Jack lifted his claws away and huffed. "Well that was easy," she leaned in somewhat close, still smiling, "Shame your usefulness is over, now." The pale, flabbergasted look she gave him was funny in her mind, and she only got to back up a few paces before Jack was suddenly there, driving his glowing green claws into the man's torso to rip through to the other size in a spray of blood. "Little unnecessary there, Jack," Eisen said as she turned to head back outside where Albion was. Jack shook the blood off his claws and followed, and Coyote flew after them to ride on Eisen's shoulder. "I enjoyed it." They emerged back into the sunlight, only after Jack was clean. She looked at Albion, coughed, and looked to Jack, "Archer Street, Hawk's Next Financers, Inc. Guy won't be able to provide us with anything more..." Jack smiled at the knight. "...so shall we?" |

It was painfully obvious to Albion what was going on in there. After all, her way was clear, and the torture was very needless or, it was, the way Albion saw it. When she exited the room, the navy Corporal was almost dour in his expression. There were still little flecks of blood, and that, combined with what shed said, let him know very instantly: murder. He couldnt fathom it. Wasnt their job to protect the people? Even if that man had been a criminal, he had a right to life Suddenly, Albion found himself resenting this Private. This was not the image he wanted to portray to the people. He didnt even want to be associating with her any more. Unfortunately, duty was duty. His face set hard, and looked at a spot just over Eisens head. Lets go. Every step towards their new destination was a soulful march, the crunch of boot upon pavement the only sound rapping through Albions mind as they made their journey across the city. Eisen was the one with the map and he would follow her. Instead, the soldier found himself, with every step, questioning why he had come to this sanity-forsaken place. |

It took every year of experience she had to keep herself from laughing at him outright. Typical military guy, always the straight arrow. She did allow herself to cross her arms and smirk at him. Poor guy couldn't even make eye contact anymore... Eisen lead the way, either not caring about her bodyguard's obvious stress or she hadn't noticed it. Jack was far less subtle, "Graveyard stuffer..." They kept their distance from the building at first, instead sending Coyote ahead to find a back door to break into. He found one, and Jack shattered the lock and they headed inside. It was a back room warehouse kind of area, and surprisingly dark. Eisen stopped once inside, and the door slammed shut behind them. Her blood suddenly ran very cold... "Did... did you just hear a horn honking?" Jack's white eyes widened, and he reached into the fur near his spade for something. |

As they breached the door, Albion was already unleashing Alistair, his Gallade; the two of them were fellow swordsmen, even if the human had traded his blade for a rifle. The darkness was pitch-black and all encompassing, threatening to engulf them. Even Albion had to admit it was un-nerving, when- Honk. The sound scythed through the darkness like the warriors blade. And from its depths? heheheheh. It was nary more than a whisper. HEHEHEHEHEHEH. This time it was the roar of a beast. heheheh. The silence was consuming until sanctity was shattered. The form revealed itself all of a sudden was that a Mr. Mime? It had long, flowing hair, candy-corn devils horns, black with grey polka-dot pants, and strange indigo markings across its body, and black hands. It was it was a frightening creature that looked almost like a clown. But it wasnt. WHATS MOTHERFUCKIN UP? Suddenly, it began to glow a mixture of blue and gold as it shielded itself with immovable barriers. Then the telekinetic onslaught began as Gamzee, Talons prized psychic Pokmon, lifted Albion wholly into the air and twisted his torso around halfways. The crunch of bone could be heard audibly as he fell to the ground. Albion! roared Alistair the Gallade before he leapt at the psychic, blades extended but all that served to do was make him bounce off the energy field and into a nearby wall. The beast looked pleased. heheheh. It grinned a terrible visage. WELCOME TO THE DARK CARNIVAL, MOTHERFUCKERS! Edited by Kirin, Apr 3 2011, 10:26 PM.

In the darkness, Eisen's eyes widened, invisible ears perked straight up. Not a whole lot scared her... but this did. She was already shapeshifting and didn't even realize it. "Welp it was nice knowing you, knighty," she said, taking a few steps backwards, letting Albion stay in front to take the full force of the psychic twisting. Unseen, since nobody was paying attention to her, the red and black fox gasped as the image of her teammate reflected in her wide, mismatched eyes. Jack suddenly slipped the gold and pearl ring over a claw, and seemed to change too. There was a flash of neon green light, and the zangoose suddenly appeared to have wings, a stump for a left arm and was sparking and glowing the same shade of green as before. "Rot in the Furthest Ring, kid!" Jack Noir charged like a bolt of lightning, his paw raised and claws buzzing with chaotic green electricity as he slammed it down in an arc for the clown, his black claws looking like a curved sword in the process. The fox really wanted to run, but she suddenly realized that she was short and couldn't reach the doorknob. It would also look terrible on her record if her partner got killed while they were on a mission. "Oi knighty, can you feel your legs?" she scampered over to him, hopping onto his legs and prancing around to see if he'd gotten his spine snapped or not. Because if he did, this whole thing just got a whole lot harder. |

The grunts and groans of pain issuing from Albion were constant, and it took every ounce of willpower from him to stop shouting and yelling to echo the serious injury that had been inflicted on him. However, he saw the spirit fox jump on his legs, and suddenly realised that was Eisen, what with the eyes and all being strange colours. My ribs he managed to utter, trying desperately to sit up but failing. Instead, Albion allowed himself to clatter to the ground, turning his head to watch the battle unfolding nearby. Jacks glowing tactic was enough to shock Gamzee for a moment, but not before the Mr. Mime let out a piercing cackle right as his shields were shattered, in a single blow, by the insane Zangoose that threatened to break his sanity. It was murderer versus murderer, the beast of complete insanity versus the beast of total logic. Alistair leapt up to his feet and pointed his blades, leaping through the air to lash a leaf-wreathed sword arm across the Mr. Mimes chest. It was enough to make the beast stagger in surprise. There was an opening for a moment. Do it now! commanded the Gallade. Finish this! |

"Oh, he broke your ribs? Better then your spine, then," she looked him over, hopping down to scamper around him a few times in the low light. There wasn't a whole lot she could do right this second to help him, regardless of what form she was in. Only now, though, did she realize what she did accidentally, and looked at her paws. "Whoops, didn't mean to do that," she said quietly, and moved out of his line of sight to shift back. She didn't exactly want anyone to know about that little trick, yet. Jack hopped back and landed in a crouch, the tips of his spectral wings fanning out over the ground, eyes narrowed as he watched. The Sovereign Slayer saw the opening and suddenly disappeared in a fizzle of electricity and space. He reappeared behind the clown, claw raised and pointed forward. He wasted no time in striking, a quick stab with his claws into the mime's back before he disappeared again only to come back where he had just been, claws stained with blood. Eisen, human again, was suddenly crouching by the knight's side, still watching Jack. "Should I call for some backup to get you out of here or do you think you can run?" Because they'd discovered something and it would be best if they lived long enough to tell someone else about it. Edited by Steel Cerberus, Apr 3 2011, 11:39 PM.

The blood leaked from numerous gashes in the Mr Mimes body; Gamzee was wounded and crippled, but somehow still laughing that maniacal, braying sound, the one that inspired terror in the hearts of men. For no matter how many times he could be wounded, he would still live. And no Slayer would bring down the capricious Bard of Rage. hehehehehEHEHEHEHEHehehehe. The beast, pleased with his progress, unleashed one psychic tidal wave designed to flatten them all, and then was gone in the blink of an eye. He knew he couldnt hold them off any longer but he didnt need to. It was over. Albion, in the meantime, was struggling to stand. Alistair rushed to his trainers side, trying to support his master telekinetically so as not to strain Albions ribs. Albion, however, wasnt pleased theyd come this far, only to fail. They were in no condition to proceed, and the threat was bigger than theyd thought. And they hadnt even made it in. Call it in. Lets lets get outta here he managed. His lungs were burning, his mind blanking. Albion didnt want to think about what had happened. He felt useless and worst of all, he felt absolutely ashamed. |

Jack Noir hissed, covering his face with his forearm, like that would protect him from the psychic shockwave. To his credit, it didn't seem to phase him much, and he lowered his arm to glower at the space where the clown had just been, only a puddle of indigo blood left behind. "Fucker," he growled, reaching down to pry the ring off with his teeth, making the wings and electricity disappear and giving him his arm back. He stashed the ring back in his thick fur, and trotted back over to the others. Coyote whistled from where he was hovering above them, kind of impressed with the whole thing. Eisen looked at Jack, who shrugged, then towards the door. It really was best to get out of here. "Let's get out of this building at least and to somewhere better to be picked up," she opened the door and waited for the others to head through it. Coyote and Jack lead the way, but Eisen stayed back with Albion even as they headed back for the main street. "Oh, and Albion?" she whispered, very lightly putting her arm over his shoulders and smiling, "If you tell anyone about what you saw me do... let's say you'll get a first-hand look at Jack's methods of persuasion." She grinned for a second longer, then moved away to pull out her phone and call for them to be picked up. |

The commandos were summoned, the team and their Pokmon rescued from the fated building that they knew housed Talon. The trip back was silent, for Albion and Eisen had naught to say any more. The OME now had knowledge of where Talons headquarters was located. Under that plain exterior beat the heart of the devil. Albion and Eisen had heard its wicked heartbeat. Their foe was more terrifying than they could have possibly imagined. |

Ok, This was 90% really cool and totally met my hopes for a quick story packed with action. The 10% that turned me off was the sudden jump from head quarters to killing. There needed to be a little something there to fill the gap. I love Gamzee btw, and if Floyd knew that Eisen was threatening his team, he'd probably kick her out. Tread carefully. Now, you've also accomplished introducing the two teams and giving us a taste of what Talon is up to - Psychic terrorism. Well done there. You each displayed your characters honor system fantastically. I think Albion is probably wondering why Floyd hired the crazy fox lady to begin with. Overall, well done. Of course there were a few grammatical errors and whatever but I'm not nitpicking this story for points. You guys have earned your starters, each Level 5 and gender of your choosing. 1 Happiness on each. |
