The mob of Eisen and her pokemon arrived in Slumber, and, surprise surprise, it was still cold and snowy. Eisen already knew that she really wasn't fond of cold and snow, and no matter how much she wanted it, she just couldn't warm up. "If the pokemon center isn't warm I'm going to shank a bitch." Luckily for the pink-haired nurse (Do all the damn nurses everywhere look the same?) the Center was nice and warm, and they got healed and warmed up a bit before going back outside. "So, TM house, and then maybe seeing what's interesting around this place?" she said, switching Lucky, Knight, and Rip into the PC and getting out Scout. The furret came out of her ball and chattered, arching her back and hopping around with excitement. "Oi, Scout. You're going to be my space heater here, c'mon. Into the coat." The furret gave Eisen a weird look, but scampered up her leg and dove into the trickster's coat to curl around her middle. Eisen thought it looked pretty weird, but the long furry critter was warm, and that was all she really cared about. "Right. Now where is that TM shop." Coyote retreated into her coat as well before they ventured outside, leaving her with just Jack and Bunker walking on either side of her. They headed to the shop with all the TM's, and she looked through the bins, trying to remember what she wanted. While she was doing this, she quietly debated her former method of getting whatever she wanted: stealing. Sure, she could do it here, since Bunker could basically dismantle anything he came across, but she didn't want to get in trouble with her big alien boss. Military grunt and all that. She sighed a little at the thought, picked a few TM's at random, and paid for the lot of them. "Sometimes I'm wondering if I'm getting soft," she mumbled down into her coat, but didn't get a response from Coyote. She figured he was just cold. "C'mon Bunker, let's see if this place has any reason worth sticking around..." Healing everyone hurr. Switching party around to just Coyote, Scout, Bunker, and Jack. APL is something, idk. Selling: Pokeball x9 [1,800], Burn Heal x2 [500], Nevermeltice [1,000] Withdrawing to make exactly 100k on hand. Using it all on TMs: Spoiler: click to toggle Just exploring around town and looking for something interesting/maybe someone for Bunker to battle? Edited by Steel Cerberus, Mar 25 2011, 08:33 PM.

0.3 ![]() Slumber was remote and freezing cold, a place that was famous for its Legendary Gym, wise elders, and irresistable fudge. You could always tell the natives from the tourists, because people who had spent their whole lives in the city wore much less in the way of extra layers, as if sheer exposure had given them superhuman resistance to the cold. For all the differences, however, there were some things that were constant no matter where you went. For instance, there was no such thing as a 'dry' town in this region. Sitting the middle of the town was a quaint-looking little pub and seemed like it had been there since the town was formed. A mixed-gender group of about a half-dozen large were singing loudly and off-key as they walked, or stumbled, out of the door. The more drunk members were leaning on the sober ones, and one particular blond woman looked like she could barely use her legs anymore, a friend on each side propping her up, as another woman, who seemed to be the most sober one out of the group, was laughing uproariously at something someone had said... Wait, what? Eisen would have to look again at the group of people, because whatever quick glance she'd given the them would probably make her swear that the laughing woman was the redhead she'd just run from in Misthenge. A second glance would confirm that, no, she wasn't. Her hair was a slightly different shade, more purplish, and it was cut shorter. She was closer to Eisen's height, too, likely only a inch or so taller. Her facial features were pretty darn close, though, and those green eyes were a dead ringer. There was an umbreon at her heels, the slender female dark type darting around her feet as the group started to break apart as people went to go home and help eachother home. The umbreon's rings were a surprisingly dull bronze colour, and her eyes, unnervingly, were a bright green that was probably only a half-shade darker than her trainer's. As if by fate, the mystery woman was the only one left alone as her friends departed in every direction, and her umbreon, lacking a collection of humans to distract her, immediately noticed Bunker. If anyone blinked, they'd miss the blur of black as the umbreon vanished from her trainer's side and was suddenly prancing around Bunker in pure, mindless, canine joy, bouncing and yipping and shedding any hint of dignity. The woman merely blinked at where her dog had been, then looked up to see her display and started giggling. "Oi, Morrigan, leave them alone!" The dark type ignored her, pausing only to give a playful canine bow to Bunker, tail wagging furiously. It probably didn't help that the woman's giggling had turned to laughter. "Sorry about her!" she called, "She's harmless, promise!" Harmless? A quick eyeballing put the umbreon on par with Bunker in level, meaning 'ridiculously powerful.' Somewhere, a girl with golden fox tails is snickering, because she's sure this makes sense to no one but her. |

.3 ![]() This place had a lot of the same features that Eisen had gotten used to seeing. The Center, the Mart, the Gym, the pub... "A beer totally sounds like a good idea right now, honestly," Eisen rubbed her eyes, pondering going and doing just that. She quickly glanced over the group departing, not giving them too much thought until a mane of red hair caught her attention, "Oh shit." Eisen came to an abrupt stop, prompting Coyote to poke his head out of the top of her coat and blink. Scout shoved him over and pushed her head up too. Now Eisen couldn't see. "Do you kids mind? Kind of trying to see if I'm about to get mauled here," she gently pushed them down a little to see again. Jack reared back up onto just his hind paws, squinting in the light reflected off of the snow. He sniffed with distaste when he realized it wasn't the same girl. Shame, that. Bunker realized it quickly too, more since that umbreon hadn't been there then anything else. He used to know an umbreon, actually, some time ago. "...huh. No, that isn't her, now is it?" "Naah, I don't think so hun. Could be her sister or something, though," Coyote pointed out, peering up at Eisen. Scout chittered with disinterest, rubbed the ice forming on her nose, and disappeared back into Eisen's coat. Eisen wasn't sure if that was any better, but there wasn't time to debate the thought of turning and running away. Bunker liked to think of himself as extremely fast, but the umbreon knew a trick that he wasn't capable of. The pokemon was on pins and needles with the other one so close, his jagged fur sticking out and quivering. But his expression was curious, if not a little stumped, especially when she assumed 'doggy play pose #1'. His spike tail wagged a few times in response. "Yeah, harmless, sure," she mumbled, watching the other dog. Not like it worried her at all, but still. Eisen looked away from the dogs and to the red-head, poker faced and debating asking the obvious (to her) question. She decided to wait, though, and see what this chick was all about, first. "Don't see too many pokemon that powerful," she gestured down at the umbreon. |

0.3 ![]() The lack of immediate positive response from Bunker didn't seem to discourage the gleeful umbreon, and the faint wagging that eventually resulted seemed to send her into a fit of joy as she quivered, let out a strange little yip-howl, and bounded through the snow over to the woman making her way over and hid behind her legs, head peering out, somewhat expectantly, from one side and her tail visible, wagging like she intended to take off, on the other. The woman just giggled. "Silly puppy," she murmured affectionately, and the dark type just gazed up at her adoringly. She had the looks of a local, with a fairly moderate-sized coat in dark blue and black leather gloves that, hopefully, were warmer than they looked. She had a pair of worn jeans that, up close, looked like they had some faint paw prints on them, and large black faux-fur lined winter boots. Her scarf, a wibrant pink with a snow-flake pattern, hung loosely around her neck as if she hadn't bothered tying it properly, and she pulled some matching earmuffs away from her ears as she went to reply to Eisen's observation. "Yeah, Morrigan's pretty special. She's not really mine, actually. Well, she is, sort of; I'm her favourite person. Sorry, I'm not making sense." She finally tore her eyes away from the umbreon to get her first good look at Eisen. She cocked her head to one side, curiousity flashing across her features, making her look rather dog-like in her own right for a moment. Whatever had caught her attention very rapidly lost it as she simply shrugged and continued on. "She belongs to the shelter I work for, technically, but she's always been my baby. Frankly, if you want powerful, you should see Lily, our granbull. She dismantled a car to get at a thief once." She made that claim with clear pride, like mother stating her child had won a school competition. The woman eyed Jack for a moment with that same curious look, then she very quickly looked to Bunker instead. "I don't think I've ever seen an electric type sit still like that." Even with the puffed-out fur, she seemed fairly impressed with a jolteon that wasn't bouncing off the walls. She knelt down (earning a slurp on the face from Morrigan's tongue, and she shoved the umbreon away with a giggle), and carefully removed a glove from her hand, which she held slightly in front of her body, not far enough to appear to be reaching for him. "What your name?" she asked the jolteon with a gentle tone, though the way she glanced up slightly made it clear she expected Eisen to be the one to provide the answer. From the point of view of the more scent-focused, the woman was covered in a myraid interesting smells, from the faint scent of alcohol on her breath to the different soaps on her hair (which was vanilla-esque), her hands (clearly public rest room soap), and her jeans (generic dishsoap). The jeans themselves were covered the smells of creatures both canine and feline, fine hairs (mostly black, from Morrigan) and a faint prints from dirty paws littering them. She was definately someone who worked with a lot of pokemon, maybe having come straight from her job to the pub. Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Mar 27 2011, 03:42 PM.

.4 ![]() Bunk tilted his head, ears still sticking straight off his head, and a slight twitch in his muscles gave away his instinct to give chase when the dark-type went to hide behind her human. But years of being trained by Jolt kept him still and quiet, just watching. As if waiting for a cue or any indication that it was alright to interact, he looked up at Eisen, who wasn't exactly paying attention to him right this second. The woman froze, jerking her head back a little bit like a fox that had suddenly been spotted when the other girl looked at her. She only realized it after she did it, and mentally scolded herself and relaxed. Man that was weird. "I didn't know there was a shelter up here," she said, but thinking about it, it wasn't a stretch. Eisen was more surprised that there was an umbreon sitting in it, much less a female, and one as nice as this one. But if she was particularly attached... Wait the Granbul did what to get at a thief? Yeah stealing in this town was a bad idea. Good thing she didn't. Jack Noir stared right back at the woman, not even blinking or even moving. Was he even breathing? Eisen frowned at 'electric type sitting still' and looked down to see Bunker glancing up at her expectantly, "Oh for the love of- you don't need my permission, you know that." Bunker lit up like a Giftmas Tree and walked right over to her, shoving his head into her hand as if he wanted attention right this second, which he did, spike tail wagging. "My name is Bunker," he chirped, blinking up at her, "And you are?" Eisen had looked like she was about to answer the question, but the swift electric type beat her to the punch, and she laughed. Coyote and Scout poked their heads out again, shoving the zipper down a little so they could both see what was so funny. The zangoose rolled his eyes and settled down on the snow on his belly, propping himself up on his forearms and observing, nose twitching. Bunker was completely focused on sniffing this new person and still being not-sure of how to deal with the lady umbreon, but it was pretty obvious he was just really awkward and unsocialized. "His stillness is more from his former owner then anything else. Trying to get that outta him, but it's not working so well," Eisen put her hands in her pockets and watched Bunk scurry around. He'd always been so quiet and still around Jolty, but seeing how she acted now, her assumptions that was just how he'd been trained were confirmed. Only coming out of your pokeball to battle would do that to you, she supposed. Edited by Steel Cerberus, Mar 31 2011, 10:44 AM.

0.3 ![]() The woman blinked when there was suddenly a jolteon head in her hands, and didn't say anything immediately as she tried to process the fact that he'd just spoken to her. Morrigan's ears perked, as if trying to make sure she'd heard right. To her credit, she recovered quickly and let him sniff her, scratching his ears and giggling. "Nice to meet you, Bunker. I'm Melody." She glanced up at Eisen when she spoke, and cocked her head to one side at the little faces peeking out from her coat (silly tourists and needing to shove pokemon in their jackets), before answering. "Some self-control isn't a bad thing," she commented, giving Morrigan a sidelong glance. The umbreon shrank and let out a hopeful whine, her tail wagging appeasingly; it was pretty obvious that she had no regrets for her hyperactivity, though. "But good on you trying to untrain it. Dogs should be dogs, right?" Melody didn't waste time bringing the topic back on the shelter, though, remembering Eisen's eariler observation. "Though, uh, with the shelter? There are two of them in town, actually. There's an official adoption home that the elders run, and then where I work. We've mostly got local strays or problem pokemon trainers drop off. And special ones like Morrigan and Lily, but they're basically there for life." Because letting the public try to adopt an exceptionally powerful, evolved, rare, female pokemon was totally a good idea. Melody clearly would gush about the shelter as long as she thought Eisen was even remotely interested. In fact, she had a glitter in her eye that every pokemon lover with access to adoptable pokemon got when they met another pokemon lover. There may be an invitation to visit in the near future if Eisen didn't change the subject. |

.3 ![]() Bunker didn't seem to notice or mind the hesitation. Either he was used to it or he just didn't notice. He sniffed at her pants carefully, because there was just so much to smell but quickly got distracted by the umbreon hovering around. He tilted his head at her again, unsure especially when she whined and shrunk a little. An ear twitched, and he glanced over at the two humans talking, then back at her. Oh, self control. Yeah, he had that in spades. She had acted like she wanted to play, if he was reading things correctly. Playing was something Eisen kept saying he should do more of, so he suddenly dropped low on his front paws and waggled his tail. He was doing it right, right? "Dogs should totally be dogs, yeah," she agreed completely. It was something she'd been saying since finding the thunder mutt in her PC one day, and especially since she had discovered that Jolt had disappeared and wasn't coming back. She calmly reached up and gently pushed Scout's head down (the furret was leaning out and it was uncomfortable) before continuing, "Do you guys adopt stuff out still? I can understand not letting her go," she looked at the umbreon, "She kind of seems like she wouldn't go with anyone else but you anyways." Eisen wasn't exactly sure why she asked, but she did anyways. Perhaps she had noticed the gleam or perhaps she actually was curious. Not like she was looking for anymore pokemon And as for a battle, well... eh maybe if she could bring up the subject smoothly. Bunker looked like he was having fun anyways. |

0.3 ![]() Morrigan's ears pricked forward, and her body gave a faint quiver when Bunker assumed a play invitation position. She practically threw herself into a mimiced stance, then sprung up and bounded through the snow with a yip. Her moment of calm cuddliness was gone, and now the only thing going on between her ears was otherdogotherdogotherdogchasechasechaseYAY! Melody giggled as she watched, and got up slowly. She perked up at the question, and flashed a grin. "Oh, yeah, we've got some that are ready for new homes." She started counting on her fingers. "We've got an adult Growlithe and four pups, a Pikachu and Skitty pair we'd like to home together, a Tangela, a Sneasel, a..." She trailed off suddenly, her eyes darting to Jack, not quite making eye contact with him, before she looked back at Eisen. She carefully mouthed the word 'Seviper.' "A Murkrow, too, but her wing was hurt pretty badly when we got her so we're being careful about placing her." Melody rubbed the back of her neck. "We've also got some eggs, but I pretty sure they're all spoken for now. I'm probably forgetting one or two. I don't really handle the adoption. That's V's department." There was that gleam again. "If you want to look, we always like having visitors. Everyone's pretty well-behaved." Melody was bouncing on the balls of her feet a little bit as she said that, all eagerness and pride. Then, suddenly, she stopped bouncing and leaned to one side, staring at something behind Eisen. "Duck." A blur of brown shot over Eisen's head, and a Staraptor landed in a fluttering of wings. She actually didn't need to duck, the bird's talons a good few inches above the top of her hat as he swooped down. He looked at Melody adoringly and made an affectionate cooing sound as she reached over to stroke his chest feathers, the Staraptor seemingly oblivious to Eisen's presence. "Sorry about that," Melody said with a nervous grin, "He's harmless, promise." When had she heard that before? The Staraptor was also fairly powerful, but more on Jack or Coyote's level than Bunker's. What was more, his feathers were a light, chocolate sort of brown and shimmered in the sunlight; he was shiny. "You out looking for me, Baron?" she cooed to the bird of prey, "What'cha doing that for? They'll get all worried and think someone tried to steal you again." The Staraptor lowered his head like a child being scolded and clicked his hooked beak. Then, as if just noticing her, he turned his head to look back at Eisen. There, if she looked, she would see that his eyes were a deep, forest green. |

.3 ![]() The umbreon taking off like that triggered Bunker's chase instinct and he was off like a shot after her. And boy was he fast. Though once he caught up to her... well shit, now what? Didn't want to hurt her... hum. So well he just decided to try and pounce. The umbreon looked sturdy, and he didn't exactly remember that she could... you know, phase out. Eisen was dead set on ignoring the pair and letting Bunker have his own fun. She didn't want him to feel like he was being watched all the time, because he sure wasn't. The list of pokemon up for adoption at this place got her attention, and her eyebrows went up at the mention of a sneasel. (Yeah, like I need a murderous weasel-cat.) Jack flicked an ear as he looked around, looking somehow more irritated then he just had. Yeah, he had all those zangoose instincts, that's for sure. She perked up again at the mention of a murkrow, and Coyote practically flung himself out of her shirt, "A lady crow?" "Oh hell no Coyote, you are way more then enough crow for me," she reached up to carefully get him into her hands since he was practically falling out of her coat, "Oh, forgive me... I'm Eisen, that's Bunker over there, this is Coyote, the furret is Scout, and the black lump is Jack Noir." Scout poked her head out when her name was mentioned, chittering with her ears sticking straight up. One ear twitched and Coyote snapped his head around when Melody was looking at something, and the black bird squawked and dove for the ground right as the woman said to duck. Eisen might not have needed to, but she didn't take advice like that lightly. Gripping her hat, she bent her knees till she was crouching down with Jack, who didn't looked bothered by this at all. Eisen looked at the giant bird of prey as she straightened up, and Jack curled a lip up at it. Scout ducked her head back down to hide and Coyote was resting on Jack's back and staring at the much larger bird with awe. "Another special friend of yours?" |

0.3 ![]() Melody seemed to blush a little at the question and chuckled nervously. Over with the dogs, Bunker would find that, when he went to pounce, Morrigan just wasn't there anymore. She barked once from just to the side of where he'd landed and took off running again. "Yeah, he is. Well, actually, Baron really is mine. I usually leave him when I take Morrigan out. For secruity at the shelter. And because he's not allowed in the pub anymore." The was small chuckle at that last statement. Melody then looked right at Baron. "So, why did you come looking for me?" The shiny Staraptor put his wing behind his head in a nervous gesture, and looked sideways at Eisen and the other pokemon present. Melody looked at them, too, and sighed. "Oh, just tell me," she said resignedly, waving a hand, "It's hardly a secret." "Well," Baron began, "V didn't want to worry you overmuch, it being your day off an all, but, you see, a few new pokemon came in and one's gone a bit loco. Leaping around and causing trouble. One of those big black-and-red foxy sorts. Lily's having trouble catching him. I thought I could find you and your trainer friends and do a round-up." "And my 'trainer friends' are all drunk out of their minds." Melody put a hand to her forehead, gritting her teeth and not even bothering to look at Eisen for a reaction to the fact that she could understand her Staraptor's every word. "Shit. Those things are fast, too." "Don't remind me," Baron muttered, "Chased the lunatic through most of the property." Fast. Melody was immediately staring at Bunker and Morrigan. There really wasn't much doubt as to what she was thinking of asking. |

.3 ![]() Bunker hit the frozen ground harder then he'd wanted to, having expected to come down on a squishy umbreon instead of the floor a few feet further down. He skidded, scrabbling with his claws on the ground until he stopped. With eyes wide, he watched for a moment with ears straight up before following after again to try the same thing. Eisen smiled a little bit at the bird not being allowed in the pub anymore, and could kind of relate. Birds seemed to get in all kinds of trouble. Almost as if he could hear this, Coyote chuckled and scratched the back of his head with a wing, "Delibirds, man..." The half-demon-fox shook her head, having heard the crow down near the ground. Jack looked at Coyote with a raised eyebrow, but the blackbird didn't elaborate. Eisen's Pokemon didn't notice anything strange at first, but the woman did. All she heard out of the bird was caws and hoots and other bird noises, but she noticed that Melody seemed to understand the bird, from the look in her eyes. That interesting little tidbit made Eisen' narrow her own eyes for a second, contemplating. That place in Misthenge did zap people too... "A red and black what?" Coyote sprung from Jack's back to land on Eisen's shoulder to better be at the other bird's height. Eisen gave her bird a look, until he noticed: "A foxy sort. Red and black, running around and nobody can catch it." Eisen blinked once, very slowly, and followed Melody's gaze to where Bunker was still trying to pounce on the umbreon. Bunker was flat out fast and Morrigan could phase in and out of reality. Didn't take rocket science to realize what she was thinking. "Need some help catching this, ah, fast thing?" she was perfect in acting nonchalant about the whole thing, even though she was bouncing up and down in her mind, wanting to see what this black and red fox thing was. She'd never even heard of such a thing before. Vulpix were red and ninetales were a creamish color. |

0.3 ![]() Melody looked away from the two dogs and gave Eisen a relieved and grateful grin. "Oh, that'd be great. Normally I'd get my friend, Candy, but she probably can't tell up from down right now. Figures everything crazy happens today. This is why I don't take many days off...Morrigan!" The Umbreon froze in place, right in time for Bunker to pounce on her. She blinked at him, once, then vanished under him and reappeared beside Melody. She looked up at her expectantly. "Turns out V's got a Zoroark causing trouble." "Right! That's what they're called," Baron said, "Tall, claws, fast as Raikou on a sugar rush. Nasty sort." Morrigan bounced up and down. "I can catch it, I bet. Hide in the shadows and...pounce!" Melody giggled a bit. "I'll bet you can, Morri, but we should take Eisen and her pokemon for backup." She made a beckoning gesture to Eisen and hurried off, the Umbreon right on her heels and Staraptor flying a bit ahead. "It's not far. Come on!" A bit of walking through the streets of the wintery city, and they were at it. It was a converted house, fairly large and painted a bright, banana-yellow with a sign that said 'Windchime Pokemon Shelter' in big letters over the door. The yard was spacious, with a large evergreen tree in the front with a snow-covered tire swing hanging from it. A crooked sign with the words 'beware of granbull' sat near the short white fence, and a set of windchimes were hung beside the door. A Sneasel hopped out of the evergreen tree and looked at the assembled group. She was missing all but one of her tail-feathers, and gave a long, lazy yawn before scampering over to sit on the fence next to Melody as she reached over to undo the latch on the gate. "Hey, Snea," she greeted the ice type cheerfully, patting her on the head, "Heard a fox was giving V some trouble." The Sneasel opened her mouth to reply, only for a string of loud barking to break out from behind the house. A Granbull came tearing through the snow into the front yard, head down like a battering ram and barking furiously. Finally, she stopped and stood upright, stubby tail wagging as she gave Melody a big, happy dog grin. "Hi!" Melody giggled as she made her way into the yard and gave the big dog an ear-scratch. "Hey Lily. Making sure that fox doesn't get out?" She gave a firm nod. Melody glanced at her bird. "Help her out, huh Baron?" "Sure." He took off over of the roof of the house to the back in a flap of sparkling wings and Lily quickly went racing off again. Melody turned the doorknob just as a loud crash and a sound like a pot and pan avalanche broke out from behind the door. The door flew open, nearly knocking Melody off her feet, and a terrified Ninetales went tearing out of it and into the yard. "Never seen Ruby run that fast," she mumbled before venturing inside. The door opened to a lounge area with a few chairs, a coffee table, a bookshelf (which, at the current moment, had its contents strewn over the floor), and a receptionist-style desk. A woman with a Pikachu on her head, a Skitty clinging her to her pant leg with all four sets of claws, and a pair of Growlithe puppies in her arms flashed a broad smile when she saw Melody. "Ah, I knew Baron would run after you anyway. Heard about our little fox problem?" Giggling, Melody went to retrieve the pups, and the other woman knelt down to pry the pink cat from her calf. "Yep. Aren't you glad I don't take many days off?" She gestured at Eisen, or tried to. "V, this is Eisen. Eisen, this is V; she's the one who runs the shelter." V was taller than Melody, and her hair was a light brown, hanging straight down with bushy bangs in front of her eyes and glasses. She grinned boardly as the Skitty scampered off, the Pikachu leaping down to join her, and strided over to Eisen. If V was at all surprised, curious, or even seemed to notice anything from Eisen's clothes, to her eyes, to Coyote and Jack's odd colouration, she didn't show it in the slightest. In fact, the look on her face was a bit sly. Knowing. "Ah, pleased to meet you. You're our back-up? Good. Ever fight a Zoroark before? Probably not, they're rare and not really from around here. Foreign pokemon that started breeding like Buneary. I don't mind if you rough him up a bit. He can take a hit, trust me, and it might be the only way to stop him from screwing around with us." There was another crash and clattering of pots, and suddenly a Ninetales came walking in with a pot on her head, said head held high and with compete and utter nonchalance in her stride, as if she were trying to pretend there was nothing wrong. V laughed and walked over. "Oh, Ruby. Tried to catch him in the kitchen, huh?" She went about removing the pot with a smile, but Melody had gone rigid. "Oh shit." Barking broke out from the yard again. |

.4 Somewhere over the rainbow, a mutt was laughing. "Ha!" Bunker barked triumphantly, only for his triumph to disappear in a shifting of shadows. The dog looked around to try and find her, discovering that she was all the way over there now. It was clearly not playtime anymore, and he scampered up and over to them to see what was going on. Eisen very nearly said 'a what', but managed to keep her mouth shut and her expression neutral. Coyote looked interested too, and the pair of tricksters exchanged a glance full of information. Mostly curiosity. Jack followed them as they hurried off, standing up on all fours and shaking the snow off as he ambled after them. Everyone else didn't seem to notice anything particular about the shelter, but Jack came to a full stop and just kind of stared at the place for a few seconds. Coyote could feel the tensing of Eisen's muscles when the sneasel suddenly dropped out of the tree, but that was all the reaction she had to it. Eisen felt Scout squirm with anxiety at all the dog barking going on as they followed after Melody. She and the honchkrow on her shoulder were looking around curiously, appreciating the place and the pokemon there. Granted, Eisen didn't like most people by default, but she certainly couldn't dislike anyone who was good to pokemon. Eisen actually did jump out of the way of the ninetales running out of the house, if only because she really didn't want to get trampled. She blinked after it ripping around, remembering the ninetales that she knew all of her childhood. It was nice to see another one, but she could visit with it later. They carefully picked their way around the stuff on the floor, or at least Eisen and Bunker did. The jolteon was sniffing at the ground curiously while Eisen was staring at the woman who was covered in pokemon. Something seemed... huh. (I am not used to being confronted with someone who seems like they know more then I do.) She tipped her hat at V, "Nice to meet you too." she said simply. (Also not used to not knowing exactly what to say.) Luckily, Coyote was there to fill in for her, "A what?" Bunker was on pins and needles again, and the crash in the kitchen made him spark, but he calmed down when it was a fox... wait a second. "...didn't we just pass a-" BARKING. Bunker bolted back towards the door they'd come in through, darting outside if it was open, and waiting until it was open otherwise. Eisen turned to follow him, more on the thought that she didn't want him rampaging around then anything else, taking Coyote and Scout with her (though the crow was struggling to keep his talons in her shoulder without hurting her). Which left Jack. He was sitting by the door and just staring at V in such a way that suggested he was not amused by these shenanigans. But who cares what Jack thinks. |

0.3 ![]() And V is totally blaming that mutt for inspiring this. Melody very carefully set the two puppies down and encouraged them to run off into the house, then followed Eisen, skirting around Jack and giving him a cautious glance before she slipped out of the door, Morrigan on her heels. V stared right back with her arms crossed, and then stuck her tongue out at the black Zangoose. "Oh, lighten up, Jack." she said simply. "You'll be back to slaughtering things with her in the driver's seat again in no time." She made a vague gesture at nowhere in particular. Over the rainbow, maybe. Outside, the barking was coming from the back yard. There were more evergreens in the back, and Lily had her stubby forepaws pressed to the trunk of one, shouting strings of canine curse words at her quarry. Visible in the branches was the Sneasel from before, crouched on the branch and glaring down at Lily. ...Only, the Sneasel was also right next to Lily, hissing out her own colourful language and nursing a wicked set of claw marks on her arm. Marks that did not look like they came from her species. Other than those marks, the two ice types were identical, down to their missing tail feathers. Melody caught up to Eisen, and she looked around. "Where's Baron?" Lily paused in her swearing to glance back at her. "Bastard Sucker Punched him." Melody stiffened, glaring up at the Sneasel in the tree. She looked at Morrigan, and the Umbreon needed no other instruction. She vanished, and suddenly the uninjured Sneasel was roughly knocked out of the branches. The weasel tumbled a bit, and then its image seemed to ripple and fade, leaving behind a very large mass of black and red which landed on Lily, bounced off of her effortlessly, and did a forward roll on the grass before standing. Lily picked her face up out of the snow and growled. There, at last, was Eisen's first glimpse at a Zoroark. He was tall, taller than Eisen, with dark grey fur and bright red claws and face markings, with a jet black scruff around his neck and red and black mane practically devouring his back. The pokemon grinned and held his hand out to one side. A top hat, also black and red, appeared in his hand. "Well, hello there, vixen," he said to Eisen perfect english, twirling the hat in his claws and setting it on his head, "Faux Zoro, Master Illusionist, at your service." He then leaped, his form rippling again. Suddenly, the fox, tophat and all, was gone, replaced by a perfect replica of Coyote, hovering in the air and still sporting a grin. *Boss Battle Music* Faux Zoro :coyote ???? |

.4 ![]() BLAME ACCEPTED. The zangoose pulled his lip up slightly, but didn't growl or do much of anything else. It dropped off of his face after a second, and he suddenly stood and trotted outside where all the noise was. "What fourth wall." The jolteon had run over to where the other two were, putting his paws up on the tree but not barking or making noise with the other two. Instead he was obviously trying to listen, dark eyes wide to see. Eisen stopped a respectable distance away, squinting between both the sneasels. She didn't really have a hard time believing what she was seeing, though she was wondering how this was possible, and what other kinds of tricks this 'zoroark' had. Come to think of it, the whole thing sounded really familiar. At which point it should be said, it's funny that Eisen's character concept was created before zoroark was even revealed, much less its ability. Bunker finally started barking when it got knocked out of the tree, only doing it twice as he put his paws back down on the ground and turned to look at the backside of their mysterious target. Coyote sure didn't like the look it was giving them, though, and took off into the air in surprise. Scout poked her nose out, shrieked, and bolted out of Eisen's jacked and onto the snowy ground, arching her back and hopping around on her paws, teeth bared. The sight of the fox made Eisen freeze, dual colored eyes flashing for a second without her knowing it. It felt really strange to be faced with such a thing, and she went blank on how to react to it. All she could do was stare in awe as it changed again, after talking. She snapped her head around, spotting the real Coyote hovering and staring with his own open-beaked surprise. Eisen looked back at the illusionist, gathering her wits before she decided to speak. "Nice choice in head wear, Zoro," she said back, grinning her own tricky grin. He was just tricking them, that was all. He'd just said so himself. And she figured she could talk him down, but V's words rang somewhere in the back of her mind. Roughing him up a bit might be the only way. She didn't want to reveal her hand right away, so instead of calling for Bunker, she looked down to where Jack had finally joined them and the mongoose was frowning at their shape shifting 'friend'. Eisen calmly flicked her eyes from him to the illusionary bird and back again. Jack only briefly glanced at her before charging in a blur of black, claws raised to bring them down on the bird's form. Eisen and her mob didn't know what was going to happen, but they were going to find out real quick like. Until then, the standard way of dealing with things was the way to go. :jack "Jack Noir"Level 44 132/132 *Quick Attack + Crush Claw* VS :coyote ??? "Faux Zoro" ??? |

0.3 ![]() V just blew a raspberry at the back of Jack's head, then turned to see the now-depotted Ruby giving her a deadpan stare. "Oh, not you too," she whimpered, giving the Ninetales puppy dog eyes. Her expression didn't budge, and V gave up. "Come on, Ruby," she said chipperly, strolling toward the kitchen, "Let's get things cleaned up." The fox just sighed and followed her. Faux Zoro gave a small nod at the comment on his hat, even though he technically wasn't 'wearing' it anymore in the Coyote-disguise, but didn't answer. He did seem to enjoy the compliment, at any rate. He also grinned at Jack when he appeared, and almost looked hurt when the Zangoose raced toward him. The psuedo-Coyote turned black and shot forward even faster, smashing full-force into Jack and sending him flying back and landing with a thud in the snow. The bird whipped around in a perfect U-turn, somehow keeping his momentum, and seemed to vanish in a puff of smoke. Melody was growling words and didn't sound like english and sounded even less like they were meant for polite company. "V's right," she said, looking at Eisen, "He's just screwing with us. He could have left by now if he wanted to." She listened for any sign of commotion, trying to calm her breathing, but there was nothing to hear. .3 ![]() Well, um. "Woah." Scout clicked her teeth once and stopped her little war dance, sitting up on her hind paws and peering at where Jack was laying in the snow. Bunker even looked surprised, eyes wide and ears quivering where they were sticking up. "Well, that settles it. Bunker, c'mere," The jolteon raced over to her, looking around as if it was going to come along and sock him in the face next. Eisen figured, if something could sock Jack that hard, then the only solution to this was the jolteon on steroids. There wasn't much that Eisen didn't think the dog could handle. Then again, she thought the same thing about Jack. "If I was a mischievous fox..." she chuckled a little after she said it, slowly turning her head to look over her shoulder, "I'd either go somewhere where I could make a mess or... find someone who wasn't expecting me. Back inside the house, maybe?" she looked back in that direction, "Eaiser to cause trouble when there's stuff to knock over. Bunker, go see if you can find him inside," she gestured, and the jolteon scampered to go see, trotting quickly and looking around with his eyes and his nose. "And then we stick around out here with our umbreon friend, just in case I'm wrong." It was almost kind of nice, Eisen reflected quietly, to be in a situation where she wasn't entirely sure of everything. It was kind of rare and exciting, even though she'd never admit it. That and Zoro intrigued her more then just about any other pokemon had. If it wasn't for everyone else around, there might have been two red and black foxes scampering around... "Hey, Jack," Eisen started, looking to see that Jack hadn't gotten up yet. She'd expected him to have been up by now, grumbling about something and brushing the white snow off of his fur. Coyote flapped over to land next to the zangoose, "Nah, E, he's out cold. Guy really did a number on 'em," the bird waved a wing over Jack's face, to no response. Eisen seemed stunned for a moment before withdrawing him into his spade-labeled ball for the first time in a while. Like Bunker, Eisen didn't think that anything could take Jack down. "Remind me where that guy came from again?" Bunker, meanwhile, trotted through the house, avoiding the areas of destruction and quietly padded around to see if he could find that tricky fox. |

0.3 ![]() Melody nodded at the idea of him going inside. "He may try to stir up the other pokemon," she added, "Some of them are easily startled or provoked." Lily rubbed the top of her head and then flexed, and the Sneasel scampered over to let Melody pick her up. "Aw, poor kitty. You're lucky he didn't go all-out on you," she cooed gently as she looked at the claw marks. The weasel just buried her face in the woman's shoulder and stayed there, purring softly. Melody blinked at the question and shrugged. "You'd have to ask V about that. I didn't even know we were getting new pokemon today. Though..." she stared at where Faux Zoro had vanished. "...She doesn't always have much of an answer. You'd be surprised how many of our pokemon here just sort of show up." Morrigan barked and nodded. "If you want my guess, I'd think someone owned him and handed him off to V because he's an asshole." Bunker found the door still open, and walked into a lounge that was still a mess. The sounds of things being rearranged in the kitchen, along with V talking and Ruby's claws tapping on tiles, could be heard, but no signs of a rampaging fox. Faux Zoro's scent was here, but, then again, he'd been running through the place before he and Eisen had arrived. Then there was a blur of black racing into the room from the other doorway in the lounge, which leaped onto the empty bookshelf and crouched there. A perfect replica of Jack looked over at Bunker with a particularly gleeful expression, just before a Seviper hurtled into the room, jaws snapping. It caught sight of the false Jack and, in a haze of bloodlust, hissed and swung its tail at the shelf. The blade embedded itself in the wood and the psuedo-Zangoose leaped down again and raced out the door past Bunker, form rippling to, instead, match his. The door slammed shut behind him. The Seviper wrenched its tail free and stared at Bunker in confusion, blinking a few times as he realized there was no more Zangoose. Meanwhile, 'Bunker' came trotting back to Eisen and sat down next to her. Melody stared at him. "That was quick." Faux Zoro ![]() ???? |

.3 ![]() "Yeah, that'd be my guess too," Coyote remarked, hovering near the two girls and looking at the house much like they were. Eisen was frowning a little, not because of the shadow fox, but because the whole 'not having much of an answer' thing felt almost familiar, and not in a good way. But... well that didn't seem important right now. Bunker was pawing over a piece of paper on the ground when he heard the commotion, and bristled with readyness up until he saw Jack's mirror running around. He didn't immediately realize it wasn't actually Jack, but something inside his head reminded him that Jack had been outside and knocked out in the snow a few seconds ago. He pinned his ears back at the door being slammed, and raced over to it, barking and jumping up and down to get someone to open it. Sure he could have busted it down, but that wouldn't have been very nice. And he was trying hard to be nicer. "Hey, can someone open the door here? Please please please please I need to get it!" Eisen looked down at the thunder mutt as he trotted up, and had the weird inkling feeling something was off. They were dealing with an appearance-changing creature and... Bunker had just walked out of their sight. And Eisen could swear she heard faint barking coming from inside the house, so... "Yeah, that was fast," she squinted down at him, like she was trying to pick out any differences, and nearby, Coyote's eyes flashed with his TM-powered psychic abilities. Shame they did jack-all of good, but... "Woah, E, I don't think that's him!" "I didn't think so either. Make him stay put, Coyote!" Eisen started towards the door, leaving her two Pokemon to hopefully at least distract the thing long enough to get the jolteon back out here. If nothing else, maybe Morrigan could help them distract it. Coyote gave the pseudo-jolteon a glaring look to get him to stay put, while Scout chattered and hopped away from him, Melody, and the others, dancing around in the snow to keep his attention on her. She was waiting, though, for him to try and attack her. He wasn't the only one who knew a few dirty tricks, but if he didn't attack her, at least she hopefully had his attention. And, you know, Eisen went to go open the door. Which, in theory, is not a complicated thing, but this is not a normal situation. :coyote "Coyote"Level 46 184/184 *Psychic (failed, derp), Mean Look* "Scout" Level 42 168/168 *Follow Me, Sucker Punch* VS??? 0.3 ![]() The Seviper peered at Bunker, the haze of Zangoose-hunting fading, and slithered over. "Here, let me," he hissed, wrapping his tail around the doorknob and trying to turn it. He glanced in the direction of the kitchen. "I swear that woman's deaf," he mumbled as the door opened. "There!"" he said triumphantly, "Go get 'im, buddy!" Coyote may have been looking at the false Jolteon, trying to reach his walled-off mind, but he was looking at Scout, and there was a faint slik of claws sharpening. He shrank, just momentarily, under Coyote's gaze, before his head snapped up to watch the bouncing furret. The illusion never wavered as his eyes flashed purple, and Scout gave a squeak. Very suddenly, she didn't know how to do two of her dirty tricks, or how to use her claws. Melody was just blinking at this, still cradling the injured Sneasel and looking like she had absolutely no idea what to do, as if afraid to mess up some sort of planned-out strategy. She actually seemed a little distracted by Scout in her own right, to be frank. Lily was growling like an unmuffled engine, and Morrigan's hackles were raised, but it looked like neither of them were going to attack until they were sure they should. .3 ![]() Bunker scooted back out of the way and stopped barking like a loon when the seviper came over to open the door, though he was shifting his weight constantly, like a runner getting ready for a race. He crouched low when he saw the knob turning, and bolted out the door as soon as it was open enough to do so. "Thank you!" Eisen was nearly to the door when it opened, and Bunker bolting out shoved it the rest of the way. She squeaked and jumped backwards as he shot past, crackling and making her hair stand on end. "Woo boy, he's pissed," she looked in at the seviper, raising a hand in a polite wave before she headed back over to where all hell was breaking loose. Feeling really odd all of a sudden, Scout stopped and sat up on her hind paws, looking down at them like she was confused. That was really weird... she suddenly felt kind of blank, like she'd forgotten some things. She didn't like it at all, and looked up at the fake jolteon and hissed, arching her back and making the ground turn purple and bubble below him, before conjuring up a baton out of nowhere and throwing it straight up. She disappeared in a puff of smoke, leaving behind a pissed-off jolteon in the middle of a full tilt run, teeth crackling. "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Scout ambled over to Eisen, who was standing next to Melody and co. and watching. She was keeping a particular eye on Coyote, if only because he was her baby and since this thing had dropped Jack so easily... "Don't think I've ever seen him that mad before," she said down to Scout, who chittered and bobbed her head. Coyote was really hoping that the roaring jolteon would keep its attention while he crackled with electricity and his eyes and orange feathers started flashing like strobe lights. He made a messy concoction of paralyzing electricity and flashing lights to shoot at Zoro after he swooped around to the critter's front. Couldn't confuse his backside, after all. 0.3 ((I wanted this post to be better, but it's being so bleh right now. Sorry. But I've got a battle table now!))"So angry..." came Faux Zoro's voice, purring from the false Jolteon's jaws as he looked at Scout. He jumped up as the ground turned toxic, flipping over backward and landing outside of the poisonous zone. He stared down the pokemon he was currently mimicing, and just grinned his usual grin. "Serious--" He leaped sideways, out of the way of Bunker's charge. "--Violent--" He turned toward Coyote, but then artifully dodged his assault. "And far too slow." He merely sidestepped as Lily suddenly charged, sending the Granbull careening head-first into a tree. His every move seemed to blur his form a bit, and very dodge was just a little quicker. The Master Illusionist was getting faster. Faux Zoro looked right at Eisen. "A fine assault, vixen. You'll forgive me for evening the odds a little, won't you?" His voice was light, and not the false lightness of mocking. This really was all a game the dark fox. He had not abandoned Bunker's form, even though Eisen knew it was him, for no clear reason other than that he wanted to stay that way. His head snapped to Scout.

.3 Bunker snapped at the cold air and skidded on his paws to face his clone again, the pins on his body sticking straight out. He was not used to something like this happening. Then there was Eisen, who honestly couldn't figure out what this thing wanted from them. (You can't get getting off on this that much, can you? So what are you really after? Beating up everyone doesn't really help you much, so what's your game?) she thought, arms crossed and watching as it dodged everything thrown at it. It was a trick that she'd seen Jack do a couple of times, so she knew what it was, but... She blinked once, out of her thoughts when she saw the fox looking in their direction. Scout hissed and hid behind Eisen's legs. The furret had thought that she was done with this battle stuff for now. But, she glared and pinned her ears back, charging out from behind Eisen and doing flips in the snow, chattering loudly. "Hey ugly! Yeah, you with the ponytail! Kind of girly huh? Just like you're a pussy and not attacking us," Coyote crowed, flapping a circle above them and taunting the illusionist. Eisen wrinkled her nose, feeling a little offended herself, but it was something Coyote was good at. Though Scout was going to take the consequences of this, it was pretty distracting. She didn't see Bunker, splitting himself into copies, but she did see the gold and white blur as it charged. Instead of crackling with electricity, the hound leapt with his back paws, kicking like mad. Scout was cheering him on as well as distracting, so this was going to sting... you know, if they could actually hit the damn thing. Coyote hovered and flapped his wings suddenly, whipping up the snow in a haze around Zoro for a second. Eisen just smiled at the illusion fox and shook her head while she watched. Her pokemon knew what they were doing. And she didn't really have anything to say right now. It was smarter to just stay quiet.

0.3 ![]() There were three things about this particular opponent that needed to be kept in mind. One, he was fast. Really freaking fast. And, at this moment in time, he was even faster than his usual fast. He was making Bunker look like a three-legged turtle. Thus, he didn't hesitate in acting the moment Scout started bouncing around. Two, he was already planning on going after Scout. Coyote could not even speak the first word of his insult before a blur of yellow shot off toward the dancing Furret. Seemingly disembodied dark energy slashed along her long body. Three, he hit like a hurricane. Scout couldn't even cry out in pain before she hit the ground with a set of gashes on her side. The false-Jolteon rounded on Coyote, a wicked gleam in his eyes. He tunged, smashing into the bird and whipping around mid air to vanish. It was then that Melody snapped out of whatever strange daze she was in. "Oh, shit. Morrigan, Pursuit!" The Umbreon shot off in a black blur, homing in on the fleeing pokemon and tearing around the side of the house...only for a sound like a face hitting wood to ring out. "He went up," came a whine, and following Morrigan would show her in a heap in the snow next to the backdoor of the house. Directly above her was a second story window. Melody went white. "We keep the birds up there..." Can we say 'fox in a henhouse?' No sounds of mass panic yet, though.

.3 ![]() So... that was pretty much the worst thing that could have happened. It was bad for a couple of reasons. Not only could the thing escape now, but- "Coyote!" ...if you attack the critter that someone loves more then anything else in the world, they're not going to like it. Bunker and his copy tore off after Morrigan too, though he was lucky enough to stop himself before running into the door. He growled and bristled, but it didn't do him any good. They needed to get up there, but he couldn't exactly fly or anything. He looked at Morrigan, "Shouldn't we go through the house and go upstairs?" Melody might suddenly realize that there was no short trickster-lady next to her after the telltale sound of the two being withdrawn, and instead there was a small furry black and red creature running towards the window like her poofy tail was on fire. Hey! Bunker snapped his head around to look as the fox ran past him and jumped at the wall, trying to scale it through sheer force of will, Hey motherfucker, where did you go? The jolteon was left to stare, eyes wide and ears sticking straight up. He looked at Morrigan, relaxing his muscles and splitting himself into copies again in preparation. Eisen was cursing the other fox from here to the volcano and back again. If you were trying to get me mad, you've fucking done it! Now where are you?

0.3 ![]() Morrigan pouted and was about to point out that Pursuit didn't really accommodate closed doors, when there was suddenly a spirit fox in her midst. She stared at the swearing fox, seeming more affected by the F-bombs than Eisen's change of appearance. Eisen's shouting got no reply at all, not even laughter. She was managing to climb up the wall, though, somehow. Probably that reality-warping power at work, since it certainly wasn't within the laws of physics. However, when she was getting particularly close to the window, there was suddenly a flurry of caws and flapping wings as a murder of Murkrow burst out of the window, and Eisen was roughly knocked back down into the snow. The birds circled above her, just outside of the window. There looked to be about six of them, and their movements were synchronized in their flight. Despite the frantic departure, the birds now seemed to looking purposefully at Eisen, and were completely silent as they continued to circle. Well, that was somewhat ominous, though it could be one of Faux Zoro's tricks. Who knew what the crazy fox was capable of. By the way, if anyone bothered to look at where Melody used to be, they would notice that she'd disappeared without a trace.

.3 ![]() The fox flailed around in the snow, hissing and spitting and throwing angry globs of snow everywhere until she righted herself. Her ears flicked around to get the snow off of them as she glared hatefully at the window, though a bit of snow still clung to the top of her head. Eisen prowled out of the snow hole she'd dug, and the flicker of black above her caused her head to snap up to stare with wide eyes. ...huh. she looked right back at all the birds curiously, and seemingly not caring that they were all staring at her. Hey, Melody. How many birds- she stopped halfway through her glance to turn her head completely around and look at where the other woman... had been. The fox blinked twice, looking surprised. Welp. "How many murkrow are there normally?" Bunker asked Morrigan instead, hoping she'd know. Eisen looked at the window again, and started towards the building for another try at clawing her way up the side and in the open window. Bunk, see if one of them is moving faster then the others. If he's up there, he should be moving faster, she said as she marched past the two eevee evolutions, still looking murderous as she tried to scale the wall. Bunker blinked after her, not bothering to stop her, and did as she asked. He continued relaxing his muscles, studying the birds above to try and catch faster movement out of one of them.

0.3 ((*cringe* I've been a horrible mod. I'm so sorry for leaving this so ridiculously long.))Morrigan cocked her head to some side at Bunker's question. "I only remember one..." Watching the movements of the birds yielded nothing; they moved with perfect synchronization, all at the same speed, and as they did, a faint mist seemed to emanate from their wings. When Eisen started scaling the building again, they dove straight at her and what felt like a feathered missle sent her falling back into the snow. A look of realization crossed Morrigan's face. "No! Baroness! Stop! She's not the bad fox!" At the shout, the birds stopped, then swooped down much less aggressively, five of them vanishing on the way down. A single, female Murkrow hopped over to where Eisen landed and sheepishly extended a wing to assist her. "Ah, terribly sorry. But when someone says there's a red and black fox running about..." Baroness didn't seem to realize that Eisen couldn't understand her. And why should she? The spirit fox looked more like a pokemon than anything to her. However, if the murder of crows wasn't Faux Zoro's doing... A flock of various birds suddenly flew from the window, and Baroness's head snapped up. She took off after them, presumably to round them up, but who knew? The minute they left however, what looked like a black mist poured from the window, tumbling down and coating the ground. "My beautiful Morrigan...Perhaps it is time you left this conflict, hm?" came a smooth, purring voice from the darkness. The umbreon, just barely visible to Eisen and Bunker, stiffened a little, eyes glowing red in the gloom. "Come now, I believe we all know what I seek. Baroness has done half the work for me." Faux Zoro gave a soft chuckle. "You, my most furious vixen, will have the sweet vengence you seek, if you are willing to take it through your spiky friend alone. The two of us, clashing without assistance. No more illusions, no more tricks. A wave of my paw and this concealment is gone, and the fight will commence. Merely say the word, vixen." Morrigan was already backing down, taking a few steps back and sitting. It seemed like she assumed the word would be 'yes.' But that decision was Eisen's alone. Bunker's and Faux Zoro's stat's have been reset by the Murkrow's Haze attack. Faux Zoro is hiding in a widespread Night Daze attack, which he will get rid of if his request of a one-on-one battle with Bunker is accepted.

.3 well, you're back now so that's all that matters reallyBunker frowned and looked back at the crows. Now he really wasn't sure what to think. Their synchronized movements were kind of confusing him too, until his ears stuck straight up and he seemed to realize it as they all dove at once. "Double Team?" Again, Eisen found herself in the snow and again she hissed and spit as she righted herself. The fox opened her mouth and hissed with her teeth out at the bird, but snapped it shut when she heard it speak to her. the hat on its head was a little smaller, so she knew it was a lady crow, "Hun, I can't understand a word you're saying. But you're lucky that I like your species a lot." The jolteon's head snapped up too and he snarled, baring his teeth as the black mist seeped out the window and all around them. Eisen tilted her head slightly, not too bothered, but trying to peer through it. Her ears flattened to her skull as the male shadow fox spoke, and she rolled her eyes dramatically when he finished. "Man. Fuck you. You heard him Bunker." Bunker wasted no time. He was nearly as mad as Eisen, and his fur had started to crackle, escalating with every syllable spoken. He eventually released it in a gigantic crackle of electricity that arced up into the air as soon as Zoro's illusion dropped. It came down like a bolt of judgment, and Bunker didn't really care if it hit or missed. He could always make more, which is exactly what he did, crackling again and storing power before discharging it in all directions. Lucky its radius didn't extend beyond their immediate area, but Eisen still ducked when she saw him release it.

0.3 ![]() A chuckle came from the darkness. "Shall I take that as a 'yes?'" The question was clearly rhetorical, as the dark fog vanished a moment after he spoke, leaving the Zoroark standing calmly not far in front of Bunker, his tophat in its place on his head and smirk on his muzzle. Then came the bolt of judgement. Here, time seemed to slow down a little, as if some kind of cosmic being on a plain undetected were deciding whether or not to intervene. Or, rather, a golden fox was glaring at a webpage and saying, Oh come on, followed by, Screw the numbers, this is boss battle and I have awesome powers. Faux Zoro darted out of the path of the lightning bolt, narrowly avoiding it and rolling back into a standing position. His eyes were just a little wider after the fact, but that vanished quickly as practically lunged into a four-legged stance and raced at Bunker, the claws on his front paws cloating themselves in darkness. He reared up, claws raised, only for another blast of electricity to send him back, snow and dirt flying in all directions as he dug into the ground to try to stop himself. The tophat vanished, and his fur stood on end, crackles of electricity running through it; he snarled at Bunker, seeming to have finally lost his smooth confidence to a more feral state. V had been right on one thing: Faux Zoro could take a hit. He charged again, this time vanishing competely into shadow mid-stride. Another retreat? Not this time. He appeared again behind Bunker, hurling his full weight into the smaller pokemon and knocking him back in return. The move left a few yellow needles behind in Zoro's side, but he didn't seem to care.
Okay, yeah, I'm playing this final battle RP instead of number-crunching everything, which means that I can play this like a dramatic boss fight and you can cue up more than two attacks and combine things creatively without any worries about me getting a massive headache figuring out the math. After all that waiting time, I want this to be fun for you. |

.3 ![]() A message popped up in the corner of the golden fox's screen: lol totally damage calc'd that last one~ Awesome song btw. Bunker followed Zoro with his head and his eyes, hissing faintly and bristling. The jolteon smirked even as he stumbled away from the fake fox, and took off in a run. The fox was going to have a hard time hitting what wouldn't stop moving, so he was going to use his speed to his advantage here. Zoro was just way too slow. Too slow! he taunted, throwing up snow behind him as he crackled. He suddenly stopped when the fox was following him, all his pins sticking out with electricity crackling between and over them. He spun to face Zoro and crouched down on his front paws, a torrent of electrified pins shooting out of his fur and at the fox. Bunker raced off again, keeping his body electrified. Not only did it make him feel better, but if the fox tried to slash him again, he'd get a nice shock to the system that would hopefully slow him down even more.

0.3 ![]() The golden fox chuckled a little and sent back: Hah, yeah. You get why I'm going with it this way. And thanks! Zoro crouched, watching as Bunker raced around, not chasing him. There were still some higher brain functions going on here, snarling or not. Then the Zoroark took off running to try to intercept Bunker, claws cloaking themselves in darkness again, and got a face full of electrified needles for his trouble. He broke off the attack and reared up on his back legs to bring his forepaws to his face and try to rid himself of at least some of them. "Too confident," he growled at the sparking Jolteon; it seemed that the attempt to ruin his handsome face had at least partially snapped him out of the feral rage. He remained two-legged in stance and stared at Bunker, a few chuckles escaping him. Oh, yes, that would hurt very nicely. His eyes stared to glow, and suddenly he threw his clawed forepaws forward, a blast of raw telekinetic energy smashing into Bunker and sending him facefirst into the snow, followed by another that sent him tumbling. "Much too confident." Simple keep-away wasn't going to work on Faux Zoro.

.3 ![]() Bunker righted himself and shook his head, sparks dancing off of his fur. He could dance circles around this thing, but it didn't do much good if he didn't need to move to attack. Hm. He flattened his ears and took off again, gaining speed once more. The hound moved like a bolt of lightning, though took off in a wide arc that took him around the house and out of sight for at least a few seconds. When he zipped around the corner again there was not one, but three jolteon, running in a line. Their teeth were grit, almost in pain, but they certainly hadn't slowed down one bit. They started charging up again, fur crackling and bristles standing up higher. They opened their mouths, a ball of electricity forming there. The first one suddenly stopped, but the second and third leapt up, all lining up the shot with the illusionist. They all fired at the same time, the small sphere expanding into a bright column of electricity. The three sped off again, and Bunker was hoping wishing so hard that he'd start feeling a bit better. That splitting thing he'd done out of sight had hurt like crazy. "I'm not even sure what he's doing anymore," Eisen said to nobody in particular, withdrawing Coyote finally and checking to make sure everyone else was in their balls. She looked at the thunderbolt TM she was supposed to teach Bunker at some point, then at the hound himself, and then shrugged. Whoops! Oh well.

0.3 ![]() Faux Zoro's ears pricked when Bunker raced out of sight, but he didn't seem overly surprised by the duplicates. In fact, he started to chuckle again, his front claws running over eachother in smooth sharpening motions as he smiled deviously. This was the kind of trick he generally employed, and it would be nothing short of embarassing if he fell to such things. He took off like a shot right toward Bunker, body turned jet black and hands pulsing with energy. Bunker had been a bad, tricky opponent, making himself faster and splitting himself. It was time to put him in his place. His punishing blow hit something, but Faux Zoro was fairly certain he hadn't struck Bunker as intended. Not that he had much time to think before he was sent flying back by a point-black blast of electricity. Landing hard in the snow, Zoro pulled himself into a four-legged stance again, sparks running through his fur as he cringed in pain, and a few tears streaming down his face as he looked at his opponent. However, that devious light entered his eyes moments later, and he suddenly shot forward again, unnaturally fast, and bounded over the three jolteon with a, "Yoink," one of his front paws glowing for a second before he landed. He chuckled. Yes, that little stolen wish would help very much.

.3 ![]() The trio of jolteon ducked when the zoroark came for them, and he watched with surprise as the fox seemingly stole his wish. "Hey!" he screeched, straightening up, "That's mine," he growled as he charged. It wasn't that big of a deal. He could always make another one... you know, right now, but still. That was his special power. "Finish him off before the wish kicks in!" Eisen called, still watching. Otherwise she wasn't going to interfere, and she thought it went without saying, but... she'd actually never seen the thunder hound have a hard time like this. His nimble paws scrabbled on the snow and ice, launching him forward just a hair faster then normal. Bunker was an impossible, crackling blur of speed as he crashed into the other pokemon, chomping down wherever he could with as much electricity as he could. Eisen had to squint a little bit, because it was kind of hurting her eyes. Once Bunker got away again, he skidded to a stop and just watched the dark fox for a second, ears pinned back. He might still have his substitute, he might not, but he still had to shut this thing down as soon as possible. Preferably before that wish could kick in. So, the electric type hunkered down, like a runner getting in position for a race, and started crackling with electricity again. Gritting his teeth, he launched himself into a run, glowing as he raced at his opponent. He was going to slam into Faux Zoro as hard as he could and if this didn't do it, then he wasn't sure what would. Aside from, you know, more electricity.

0.3 ![]() Faux laughed at the protest. "Not anymore," he said smugly as he moved to sharpen his claws again. Then Bunker stuck him in a great chaotic mess as he nearly-literally threw the kitchen sink at him. Faux Zoro let out his first real cry of pain, a howl probably better suited for a wolf than a fox, a sparks jumped through his body and made his muscles spasm. He whipped around a clawed forepaw, pulsing black, to deliver a punishing counterattack and seemed to shatter one of the Jolteon attacking him, but still didn't hit the real one. Faux Zoro sank to his knees, electricity still jumping through his coat, and he could neither summon another powerful strike nor dodge the final tackle and lightning bolt. He struck the side of the house, face contorted in pain, but still managed to weakly raise a paw and thrust it forward, a telekinetic blast sending Bunker flying back. "This...is not..." "Over?" V was suddenly leaning against the house; there had been no sign of her approach, no sound or sight, though with a battle going on, there was a chance that that was simply due to the fact that all present were distracted...though, someone may notice the lack of footprints leading up to where she stood, if they chose to look. Morrigan immediately bounded over to her and leaned against her leg, tongue lolling from her mouth happily. The woman had a smug smile on her face that mimicked the fox's former confident expression probably a little too much, and she was holding up a black and red pokeball. Faux Zoro snarled. "How did you find that?" V shrugged and pushed up her glasses. "Thought like a fox," she answered, before chuckling to herself, "And I think you've had enough fun." She recalled the Zoroark, though not before he let out another loud snarl, and minimized the pokeball nonchalantly and gave Eisen a smile. "Sorry to cut that short," she said, "But he would have passed out in another second, anyway. The only thing keeping him conscious was force of will. He's a stubborn bastard." V made a beckoning gesture. "Come on. Let's see if I can get you something for your trouble." She turned and started walking around the house to the door, but the moment her back was turned, something in the place Faux Zoro had been laying seemed to sparkle. Looking in the spot would yield what looked like a small nugget of gold, and it seemed like the prize could be quite easily fetched without the woman's apparent notice. Once inside, the living area was in far better condition than it'd been left. The bookshelf the Seviper had attacked was...completely intact, sitting upright with Melody shelving books that were sitting in a stack nearby as four Growlithe puppies darted around and tackled eachother. A fifth sat right by her, and casually sidestepped out of the way as Morrigan raced over to her. This calm pup walked right up to Eisen, glancing casually at V, and sat right in front of her, grinning in a somewhat mischievous manner. The fire dog's form then wavered, showing the form of, instead, a much smaller black-and-red fox than they'd been fighting, who was still looking at Eisen with a knowing grin. V didn't seem the slightest bit surprised. "Oh, don't mind her," she said, "She came from the same batch as our troublemaker, but she's harmless." Bunker gets 2.0 ! (Since I wasn't using the calculator and didn't assign Faux Zoro a specific level, I went with 0.5 for every round of the boss fight; someone can smack me for this if they don't think that's fair)Eisen gets a !Eisen has a female grinning at her.

.3 note: need to add the nugget + Exp still. "Stubborn bastard is right. Arceus..." Bunker slumped when he was sure the dark fox was gone, tired and in a bit of pain from the battle. It was very rare that anything gave him any difficulties, so he wasn't used to actually trying. Eisen slicked her ears back at V, ducking her nose down and giving the woman a suspicious look. She knew she looked like a cute, furry woodland creature, and yet nobody seemed to notice. Or they just didn't want to say anything. Which, as far as she cared, was fucking weird. She and Bunker exchanged glances when V gestured them inside. Hey, if they weren't going to say anything about it, then she wasn't going to say anything about it. Eisen moved to follow, hopping up and suddenly expanding to be a person again, without reality really making sense about the whole thing. She brushed some snow out of her hair, replaced her hat, and headed inside. Bunker would have followed, but he'd spotted something shiny in the snow... "So this is where you disappeared to," Eisen said calmly to Melody, even while she thought where the fuck were you. Being rude at this point did her no good, though maybe after she got her reward, she could burn- oh my god there's another one. Eisen raised both eyebrows down at the much smaller dark fox, even while Bunker trotted inside and dropped the nugget of gold in surprise. "Aw man, not another one!" Eisen chuckled at him, but hadn't taken her eyes off of the little one yet. She felt a prickling sort of dislike for the entire species/family at this point, though that might be the lack of a snarky bird on her shoulder talking more then anything else. Still... "I somehow doubt she's harmless. Not with a trick like that," she knealed down to the pokemon's level, while Bunker recovered his prize and stepped closer. "Pretty damn useful, though," even if she thought it was kind of ironic. Realy ironic. So hey, testing out that whole non-canon storyline thing. We're gonna finish this, but I'm gonna boot Eisen out of Slumber as soon as I have time, I think. So yeah! Edited by Steel Cerberus, Jul 3 2011, 02:03 PM.

0.3 ![]() Melody looked a little sheepish and opened her mouth to say something, when V just chuckled. "Yes, sorry about that. I needed her. Our Seviper was having a small fit." She didn't elaborate, though she had that sly look on her face that rarely seemed to leave. "What she said," Melody said rather quickly as she put another book on the shelf, picking up one of her feet to avoid it being pounced on by a playful puppy. Bunker's reaction to the small fox, followed by Eisen's reply, made V give a small, good-natured laugh. "I suppose 'harmless' isn't the right word," she admitted, "But she hasn't tried to tear the place apart yet." A grin crossed her features. "And you'd be right about useful. A pack of full-grown Zoroark can do some pretty amazing stuff, and little Zoura like Vanguard here are nothing to sneeze at, either." The fox's ear twitched at the name, but she was still looking at Eisen in that knowing way, almost like she was expecting her to do something, though what was anyone's guess. V chuckled. "I think she likes you," she said with glitter in her eyes, much like the one Melody had gotten when she was talking about the shelter before this whole crazy thing. The aforementioned woman glanced over with a look that more-or-less said 'are you serious,' but V would not be stopped. "You know, I'd spin you her tale, but she doesn't seem to have one, or at least none I know. She just appeared one day around the city and a kind soul handed her to me. All very mysterious." Melody facepalmed. And people thought she was pushy when it came to adoptions. "She's creepy," the young woman mumbled to herself, but V ignored her entirely. |

.3 All V and Melody got from Eisen was a skeptical raised eyebrow. Right, yeah, ok, she didn't believe that for a second, but all things considered it was the least of her worries. She did frown at the little fox when V mentioned that it looked like Vanguard liked Eisen. Well duh. It was from one little fox to another here, even if there... was really no way that the zorua would know either way. Unless she'd been watching from the window or something. Bunker stood back partially behind Eisen, peering around her at Vanguard like he thought she was going to burst into flame or something. He nosed the nugget into one of Eisen's pockets so his mouth could be free, and Eisen reached down to adjust her vest where Bunker had messed it up. "She's not that creepy," Melody's mumbles hadn't gone past Eisen, and considering all of the creepy stuff she'd been through in the past few weeks, a grinning little fox wasn't that bad at all. She heard Bunker mumble some kind of agreement with Melody, though. "Is she up for adoption?" Eisen looked up at V curiously. "What," the jolteon's ears and all his spikes sagged in one moment. 0.3 ![]() The question made V's face light up, and Melody just stared, nearly dropping the book in her hand. Vanguard shot a mischievous grin at Bunker and seemed a little smug. "Well, she only arrived recently, you know. We haven't officially put her up for adoption." V said in such over-the-top false reluctance that an 'I don't know' seemed like it would have felt right at home after that 'well.' "But we did already have her checked out at the Centre, and she's healthy, not to mention she's been so well-behaved even while our troublemaker was running amok soooo I have no problem with adopting her out." "You really are serious." Again, Melody went completely ignored by V. She was always serious about adoption. "Though," V said, her grin fading to more a smile, "She could have quirks we don't know about. She hasn't made a peep since she showed up here, for instance, though that's fairly normal when they're hiding because their tricks are all visual. For all we know, she could be anything from mute to as linguistically gifted as Zoro." She gestured a little with the pokeball still in her hand, making Melody wince. "Be careful with that." Not even a glance in her direction. "But you look like you can handle her, and it's always been my motto that the pokemon themselves are the best judges of character." She flashed a smile at Vanguard. "I have a feeling she'd climb out the window and follow you if I said no, anyway." V chuckled to herself. "How's this? We have to charge an adoption fee to help cover the costs of running this place, but since you helped us out, I'll cut it in half and provide a pokeball for her." "Hello bakesale," was the mumble from Melody. Price-cutting was great for Eisen, but not so much the rest of them. Choices! Vanguard the at Level 20 at 1000z with a free to keep her in.or Add more levels to Vanguard for a higher fee, up to level 40, for an extra 200z per level to the fee (meaning level 40 is 5000z). Still with free

.3 ![]() "I think I can deal with unexpected quirks." 'cause, you know, it wasn't exactly like she expected to be half demon, or to have a jolteon suddenly dropped in her lap, or even to suddenly have all these pokemon she never expected to have a few years ago. ...or other things. Certain unexpected things just made everything else simple by comparison. Bunker sagged and nearly dropped to the ground, but was disciplined enough to not do that. He looked like he wanted to groan too, but he kept his mouth shut. "Hm..." she made a great show of standing up and pulling out her poketech to look at something. She hummed a few times, and Bunker almost allowed himself to look hopeful. But, she finally looked up at V and shrugged, "That's nice of you and everything, but tell you what. I'll give you eight for her. I'm sure Zoro there destroyed some things that might need fixing, and besides... then you guys won't have to compete with the fudge down the road," she grinned a little at Melody when she said that. And besides, callous as she might be towards 90% of people, she did really like that folks in this Arceus forsaken cold place were willing to take care of pokemon without a home. She certainly had the money for it, too. Yup, 8k for the foxy. |

0.3 ![]() V laughed. "Eight it is, then." Vanguard got to her feet and gave V a sly glance, which the woman returned. She tossed Faux Zoro's pokeball toward Melody, who practically dove to catch it before shooting V an annoyed look. She had the highest respect for the woman, really, but her constant nonchalance toward everything was frustrating. "I'll get a ball for her, and we can do a little paperwork," she said, gesturing for Eisen to follow her as she headed toward the stairs. Vanguard followed behind them. A little was right. The application form was more-or-less the length of the one that official Adoption Homes used, but was less a 'consider me for adoption' than a 'I have been selected for adoption' thing, and most of it consisted of things V had to fill out regarding Vanguard, including that she was healthy and not known to be dangerous to humans. Before long, Eisen had herself one illusion-wielding fox as V dropped the pokeball into her palm. "Take good care of her, huh?" she said, as if she didn't expect anything less. Melody was still putting the room back together, and trying to corral puppies, when they came back down. She smiled a little, though she was clearly more focused on trying to keep one of the growlithe from trying to burn a hole in the floor and another from trying to eat the furniture. They seemed to settle down a little when V got closer, though not by much. "Well, I'm not about to keep you any longer," she said with a smirk, "I'm sure you'd love to get some rest after this bout of craziness." "Thanks again," Melody added, "We -- Morrigan, stop encouraging them!" The bounding Umbreon paused momentarily in her crazy dance amongst the youngsters, cocking her head to one side. Melody shook her head. "We would have had a hell of a time trying to chase him down on our own." She looked straight at V. "And I'm never taking another day off. Ever." Her only response was another of V's chuckles. -8000z Lvl 40 accquired with 1 !

.3 ![]() Bunker watched, obviously distraught as the two girls and the little fox disappeared to do the paperwork. "Man. I should get a say in this, he huffed, and just laid down on the patch of floor he happened to be standing on. They wouldn't be too long, he figured. Eisen only seemed to realize herself again after she got the pokeball handed to her, and slowly closed her hand around it. "Of course," she looked down at the little fox, who grinned and jumped up. Eisen only barely managed to catch her, and gave the little one a look as she climbed up to sit on Eisen's shoulder and look proud of herself. She found Bunker half napping on the carpet away from being tormented by puppies. He lifted his head quickly when they came back, but drooped again when Vanguard smirked at him. "I'm sure it wouldn't have been that bad," she patted Bunker when he padded over, avoiding getting his paws set on fire. That looked like the end of the matter, and to be fair she kind of wanted to get out of here and get Coyote healed up. When she had the chattering bird back on her shoulder, then she felt like she could relax again. "Well, maybe I'll see you guys again, if I ever come back to Slumber," she said, though she didn't exactly plan to ever be back here... oh wait the TM place was here, sigh. She supposed she would be back someday, then. She tipped her hat at them and headed back to the Pokemon center, and Vanguard waved her tail and smirked back at V until they disappeared out the door. ...though, is that really the end? Is it, V? |

0.3 ![]() The moment Eisen was out of sight, Melody stood, letting the pokemon frolic for the moment, and walked over to V. "Are you sure that was a good idea?" The woman's form shifted, her eyes becoming burning balls of green light as long, red-purple ears, like a mix between a cat's and a fox's, faded into existence at either side of her head, and a slender tail of the same colour whipped from side to side behind her. V turned and smirked at Melody, pulling the glasses from her nose. The moment there were no lenses in front of them, her eyes changed from blue to a vibrant gold. "Vanguard was going to find her sooner or later. Why not give a destiny a little push?" she said with a chuckle. Ghostly, golden fox tails faded in and out of existence and flicked behind her as she glanced at the door. "Faux Zoro made quite the convincing asshole, don't you think?" "A little too convincing," Melody replied, her ears pinning back, "And I still say she's creepy." V shrugged nonchalantly. "Maybe a little." Whether she was replying to the first or second statement, she didn't clarify. Melody sighed in exasperation. "I still think getting this close to the Guided is a bad idea. And you talked to her in fox form like you didn't notice." V laughed. "Others have gotten closer. One, at least. And I think my apparent insanity is one of the least of her concerns..." A mischievous grin crossed her face. "And definitely the least of the ones I'm going to give her." With an almost cruel chuckle, she told Melody, "Summon Hades. He has an appointment with a red-haired girl in Corporcana." Storyline over! |

.3 ![]() "I really ought to thank you for this, by the way," a voice suddenly purred behind V; low, dark and silky like everything wonderful and terrible at the same time. A man had appeared behind her, less man then monster with his pointed black canine ears, red eyes, and the long, pointy dragonic tail. His hands were behind his back, though he was a little too close for comfort to V. "You saved us a lot of work that we didn't particularly feel like doing," Akuryo continued, still smiling. He looked past V to Melody, "And I had been wondering what was up with you." If V hadn't stepped away from him by now, he stepped away himself to a more personal-space worthy distance, "And I feel like I should protest any further mischief with her, but you know as well as I do that she's pretty bombproof. Literally," the demon laughed, "And I have my own plans for her, too. Never a dull moment," he pulled a plain pokeball out of his pocket and looked at it, "I still technically need to give her Abyss, even though she has him now. But you know all about that," he shrugged and put the ball back in his pocket. "I suppose I should stop talking and go take care of things. Busy busy," he chuckled, taking a step back into a shadow and disappearing into it. WELP. |

0.3 ![]() V did give a faint twitch of surprise, a rare situation, when Akuryo appeared, but it was covered up pretty quickly by her usual smile, nodding at his thanks and stepping back only slightly, clearly not perturbed in the slightest by the demon-man's presence. Melody's lip pulled back, showing sharp fangs, when he looked at her, the purple fur on her tail bristling and her eyes shifting from green to red. V chuckled faintly at the mention of Eisen being bombproof, and when he disappeared, she glanced about casually for a moment, almost as if checking for any more listeners, before flashing her trickster grin. "Busy busy indeed. Both of us." Melody shuddered a little, her eyes returning to green. "Okay, I take it back. He's a hell of a lot creepier than Vanguard." Her tail twitched. "He's even creepier than that damned Zangoose." V quirked a brow. "You're afraid of Jack?" She laughed a little at the scowl the question earned, and gestured for Melody to follow her as she headed toward the stairs. "You know what? I think I'll summon Hades myself. And personally make sure he gets the job done." A dark chuckle escaped her. "Since we have the devil's blessing." |
