Current Area: Puddle Lands 1 (Muskeg Marsh) Destination: Pontartica Travel Plan: Puddle Lands 1 > Cold Marsh (Glacier Valley) > Pontartica Combined APL: 29.00 Counters, Bank Account and other random things FINALLY!! I exclaimed as I popped my head out the exit to the Diglett Tunnels. Come on guys, lets get going! I said to my team as I pulled myself out and helped them out. After a few grueling hours in the tunnels, I was once more ready to travel above ground. Frankly speaking, I would prefer to avoid traveling underground for a while. The need for a bath after a few miles of traveling was too much for my personal taste. Sure I did like getting dirty as much as the next guy, but come on. Ill be getting dirt out of my boots for hours not to mention the baths Id have to give my Pokemon after I get to Pontartica. I hate the tunnels. Now that we had a chance to stretch our legs, it was time to get back on the road. With my team in close pursuit, save for Pika who was once again on my shoulder, I continued onward on my journey. Well, at least I wanted to. Given the fact that I had been underground for so long, I didnt know which way was Pontartica. This of course was a quick fix. I reached into my backpack and quickly pulled out my Poketech. After about a minute or two of making sure that I was looking in the right direction, I placed the device back into my backpack. Now that I knew where I was headed, I began walking toward my intended destination. Poli and Kyra were quick to follow me closely. Hopefully I would be able to get there quickly and avoid any major trouble. Still, I wasnt up for letting a good chance to catch a Swinub pass me by, so I kept an eye out for one should decide to come across my path. A Yanma would be nice too, but I wasn't that picky. [Pika is on Angel's shoulder.] [Kyra is walking alongside.] [Poli is following and carrying the apricorn tree.] [Keeping an eye out for a Yanma.] Edited by Angel, Mar 15 2011, 06:39 PM.

0.3 (Im doing this for my mod application hope its ok)So you finally made it out of the cave. How splendid. You still have pieces of dirt here and there and if you were to scratch your head patches of it may fall out. But like you said, its no big deal, you are out in the fresh air again and that is all that matters. Well Puddle Lands 1 is not the funniest of places to be either. If your foot is not stepping in a puddle then you are covering your shoes with mud. How annoying! It does not matter though, you have a quest in mind and a Pokemon to catch. Soon you will get to Cold Marsh (Glacier Valley), but not before a most wonderful Pokemon encounter. You hear a faint noise from far off at first, but then it gets louder and louder. It almost sounds like a box fan blowing. At first you may be confused by this noise but you will soon come to realize what it is when the cry LEDYBA!!!! is heard. Not a second later is there a beautiful red Ledyba charging right for you. Behind it is something even less expected, a Farfetchd that does not look to friendly. In fact it seems very angry with the Ledyba it is chasseing. Now do you see the picture? Yes, the Ledyba must have entered to Farfetchd territory and he did not like that too much. You are now about to be in the middle of this mess that you had nothing to do with in the first place. You better do something quick before you get hurt. 30 75/90Flying right toward you, watching the angry Farfetchd behind it 35 105/105Chasseing after the Ledyba angrily, not caring what gets in its way of beating the crap out of that bug. |

[NO!! IT'S NOT OKAY!!! HOW DARE YOU USE MY THREAD TO APPLY FOR MODSHIP!!! Jk. No prob dude. *Tosses the poor kid 0.3 *]Current Area: Puddle Lands 1 (Muskeg Marsh) Destination: Pontartica Travel Plan: Puddle Lands 1 > Cold Marsh (Glacier Valley) > Pontartica Combined APL: 29.00 Counters, Bank Account and other random things A bug being chased by a bird... A classic situation that most trainers come across during their travels, though most refer to it as The classic. The only thing that made it actually interesting is the fact that the bird was carrying a huge stick. I think it was a leek if Im not mistaken. Now that might make a nice stew if I took the time to cook it. Might just do that, but first, Ill need to catch it and save the bug. I guess it was time for my good deed of the day. Quickly I motioned for Pika to take action. Following my order, Pika jumped off my shoulder and rushed right at the bird. While the Pikachu took the time to get ready to strike at the bird, I reached for my belt and pulled out one of the Pokeballs attached on it. With two quick presses of the switch, I released the pocket monster contained within. Unluckily for the Farfetchd, it was Chompy my food loving Gabite. This usually meant bad news for me and for the bird. Chompy was gonna want some food after this and that usually meant a blow to my wallet. Chompy use Dragon Claw on the bird! I ordered my Gabite. Gabite. The Gabite replied to me with a Its gonna cost you! look on his face. Okay KFC as soon as we get back to town. With an excited nod, the dragon type rushed the bird. Pika however was first to the bird by using its Fake Out. Hoping to use the earlier attack as a distraction, Chompy charged in claws first. The combo would hopefully be enough to weaken the bird just enough for what I had in mind. Capture. Sure I probably wasnt going to eat it, but still. I could probably get a few bucks off it by selling it to the OME. That was always a plus. Of course I would probably be using said earnings to pay for the meal my Gabite was gonna sucker me out of. As Pika and Chompy were taking care of the weakening, I went and got ready for the capturing. I reached into my backpack and pulled out an empty Pokeball. Once I saw that my Pokemon had launched their attacks, I went ahead and tossed the Pokeball at the fowl. Once the sphere was sailing through the air, I left things up to fate, God, or Arceus. I wasnt very picky when it came to my deity of choice. I just went with whatever felt right at the moment. None felt right for this moment so I just let them fight over it. I had better things to worry about.

((Thank you so much. )) 0.3 ![]() Pika was not hesitant to jump into action. He raced paced the Ledyba an head straight toward the flustered and now very angry bird. The Farfetchd demonstrated this emotion because now he could see that not only was there an annoying bug in his home, but and trainer and his unwelcomed Pokemon. The foul tempered bird would not have this! Seeing Pika in front of him he pulled he lifted the wing with the leak in his hand, getting ready to poison jab our Pika in the face. Now one may begin to wonder, what in the world happened to the Ledyba. Well it was simple. She saw that you helping her, and she was so thankful for that. She had no idea she was trespassing. In fact, no one was even there when she first landed! Well that evidently changed. However she was super happy to see you there now and she quickly hid behind you, almost as if she was using you as a human shield. However, by this point you had released your super anxious Gabite who was supper happy that you were going to take him out to dinner when you got to town. The words KFC rang happily in his ears as he dashed forward to help out Pika. Now over all this was not fair to the Farfetchd because he really did not know what would be coming next. As we stated before, he was ready to show that Pikachu who was boss. Luckily, your Pika new better and used Fake Out. This caused the bird to be thrown back and slam into a boulder. The Farfetchd didnt know what hit him, leaving him there to flitch. He would have gotten up and come to his senses if your Chompy hadnt been in the picture. It brilliantly slammed its dragon claw against the bird , shattering the boulder behind it. The short tempered bird was now too weak to do anything. You threw your ball and it swallowed the Farfetchd into the ball, via a red laser. The pokeball soon closed on itself with the bird inside. It shook once, twice, maybe even three times but soon it became evident that the bird was caught. Congratulations, you just caught yourself a Farfetchd. However you still do have a very afraid Ledyba behind you now shivering out of fear of being hurt more. [ .3 . A berry tree mod would be appreciated. ]Current Area: Puddle Lands 1 (Muskeg Marsh) Destination: Pontartica Travel Plan: Puddle Lands 1 > Cold Marsh (Glacier Valley) > Pontartica Combined APL: 29.00 Counters, Bank Account and other random things The Pokeball that now encased my new little Farfetchd quickly teleported away to the safety of the PC where it would remain until I decide what to do with it. Id most likely than not donate him to the OME CU for a little pocket change. It felt great to do some good. Now this Ledyba could carry on with her life like nothing happened. At least until the next bird comes along to try and turn him into a meal or she wanders into anothers territory. Yeah that doesnt sound too nice. Maybe I should offer to give it a nice home. Ill have to take that into consideration after I help calm it down a bit. Well that takes care of that I said with a grin on my face. Nice work guys, now take a rest Chompy. With that, I quickly recalled the over active Gabite before he gets a chance to dig around my backpack for some food. I really cant have him chowing down on all my food before I get to Pontartica. I could starve to death. Okay so maybe thats an over exaggeration but still. I like the idea of carrying food in case of emergency. Even if at times it attracts some unwanted pokemon at night. You gotta hate it when that happens. Enough about other things that dont really matter now, it was time to calm down this little bug before she has a heart attack. Okay, I think you can stop cowering in fear behind me. The Farfetchd is far away from here so you dont have to worry about it trying to kill or eat you ever again. Okay? I said to the bug in soothing tone of voice, or at least as close as I could. There isnt anything to be afraid off right now since none of my Pokemon are gonna try and eat you. Well maybe Chompy, but since youre not carrying any food he wont try and hes inside his pokeball so its not like he could. I chuckled a little while I turned to face the bug. Having put a big smile on my face I tried to look as friendly and harmless as I could, which wasnt all that hard. Sure my outfit did scream out bike, but I was as sweet and harmless as they come. Well at least for the most part.

0.3 ((sorry it took me so long to get back to you. School caught up with me))The Ledyba looked up and blinked. The trainer was right, the bird was gone! She was free!!!! Ledy, Ledyba!!! The ladybug thanked him and buzzed off on her way and soon disappeared from sight. But thats not all! You just earned yourself 2 Fame points ! The Pokemon was obviously very thankful you helped her out!And hey, look!!! Its a very lucky day for you! Your Berry tree is in full bloom and you just got yourself five new Berries! What Luck! Well, you better hurry and get on your way before something else crazy happens. |

[ .1 ]Current Area: Puddle Lands 1 (Muskeg Marsh) Destination: Pontartica Travel Plan: Puddle Lands 1 > Cold Marsh (Glacier Valley) > Pontartica Combined APL: 29.00 Counters, Bank Account and other random things Life really does tend to be good when you do a good deed. I saved the bird, and got five berries from my tree. Not bad if I do say so myself. Things could definitely be worse thats for sure. But I did my good deed for the day and thats all that matters. Now its time for me to get back on the road and finally get to Pontartica. Hopefully Ill be able to avoid some major trouble along the way. Then again, if it brought me a Yamna, I wouldnt mind. Okay guys, lets get back on the road! I said while turning to my team. Come on! I repeated while turning toward Pontartica, or at least the direction that the Poketech had last told me to walk in. Pika quickly made his way up my pant leg, up my jacket and onto my shoulder as is his usual way of doing things. Little rascal. Well at least theres never a dull moment with him around or any of my other Pokemon for that matter. I really need to figure out how I ended up with such weird Pokemon. Maybe itll be revealed to me in the next life when I go before God or maybe Arceus. Maybe not. Theyd probably just tell me that it happened cause they were bored and needed someone to make them laugh. Yeah. Thats probably it. No use worrying about it I guess. 0.3 ![]() As you progressed through the damp furrow in the ground that just barely passed as a path, you came across an incredibly strange sight. A home atop stilts in the very center of a particularly nasty looking bog. There was a small, solid looking bridge of some foreign, expensive wood that lead out to it. The house itself, apart from being raised, was quite mundane in its construction. The roof appeared to be made of tin or iron, and had been painted a mellow green that was not unlike the waters below. Cream colored siding wrapped around the building, covered in what could have been moss or algae. The only windows that were visible to you were rather small and rounded, and had been blocked by semi-transparent curtains that were a dark shade of brown. Perhaps the most peculiar thing about this home was the man who stood before it. He was...rotund, to say the least. He was dressed in a long-sleeved flannel that enunciated his gut and a pair of blue-jeans that were held tight by a belt of particularly large size. His round face was red. Whether this was due to frustration or the humidity was anyone's guess. He stood half in the doorway, half on the bridge that lead up to it, thoroughly examining a level. The sort that was used to measure the slope of a supposedly flat surface, you know. Judging from the blinking lights atop the thing, it was rather expensive. He was incredibly involved in checking and rechecking the angle of the doorframe, and did not notice you across the bridge. Not immediately, anyway. The level slipped from his grubby fingers, clattering onto the bridge and nearly sliding under the carved railing. He bent to grab it, and spotted you, watching him go about his work from across the bog. That was quite peculiar, I must admit, but who wouldn't gape at a home in the middle of a swamp? "Hello! You a traveler?" Shouted the man, palming his instrument and waving at you. Judging from the smile on his face, he had been quite lonely. Speaking to him briefly was only polite, you know. Alternatively, you could book it and not concern yourself with the affairs of the man who lived in the bog. It might be interesting though, you know? If you choose to stick around for a spot of conversation you'll be sucked into a short storyline that will have a fairly decent reward. Maybe. You'll have to wait and see. |

[ .3 ]Current Area: Puddle Lands 1 (Muskeg Marsh) Destination: Pontartica Travel Plan: Puddle Lands 1 > Cold Marsh (Glacier Valley) > Pontartica Combined APL: 29.00 Counters, Bank Account and other random things No sooner had I cracked a joke about God sending me weird Pokemon, I stumbled upon a random shack in the middle of nowhere with a fat old man. This is just more of his sick and twisted way of telling me that he knows Im talking about him behind his back. You just gotta hate that about omnipresent beings sometimes. Still, this was rather unique considering it all. It wasnt everyday that I come upon something like this, so maybe it wasnt all that bad. I could stand to do something random for a while. It could do me a world of good. Umm Hi I said to the old man as I came to a stop only a few feet from the bridge. Yeah, Im a traveler and a Pokemon trainer to boot. Im just making my way to Pontartica, looking forward to capturing a good ice Pokemon for my team. I took a second longer to admire the house for a moment. It was weird to see a house in the middle of nowhere like that. Even more amazing was the fact that the old man had built it on top of a small island in the middle of a bog. It was very well protected against any wild Pokemon in the area, not to mention other unwanted visitors. I wonder why he would even build a house in this heck of the woods? Oh well. No use to worry about these kinds of things. Nice place you have here by the way you built it yourself? I asked to the old man. 0.3 ![]() "A trainer, eh? I used to be one of them myself," he said, seeming particularly prideful. Something on his belt caught your eye; a quint of spheres in all sorts of designs, including some that you had never laid eyes on. How had you not noticed them before? "Yep. Still got a few on me, for protection, y'know? Not that much bothers me out here." It then occurred to you that, despite the numerous creatures that lurked within the murky waters of the other swamps, there did not appear to be any fauna here. No birds flew overhead, and the only sounds were those of the creaking wooden bridge and the man's fairly heavy breathing. The old man sighed and looked down at his level. "And uh, no, didn't build the place myself. Can't say who built it, actually. It's been in my family for as long as I can remember." He did not seem especially happy about this fact. It struck you as odd that anyone would complain about such a quaint looking home. Yes, the location was odd, but it was an otherwise lovely dwelling. From what you could see, at least. "Strange stuff's been going on here for years. It's enough to drive a man insane." He turns his gaze back to you, and you notice that there's a distinct sadness in his eyes. Perhaps that was a hint as to his state of mind. "Speaking of which, I could use a little help here. Just need to confirm these dimensions so I know I'm not losin' it." It's a simple enough request, don't you think? Help him measure the house, then be on your way. You are no architect, but it is clear to see that there is something about this place that seems...off. Its construction, as stated previously, is simple and sound, but its location is incredibly odd. Peering past the rotund man in the doorway, you can see that the foyer of the dwelling looks a tad larger than it ought to. Of course, from this distance it is impossible to tell. |

[ 3 ]Current Area: Puddle Lands 1 (Muskeg Marsh) Destination: Pontartica Travel Plan: Puddle Lands 1 > Cold Marsh (Glacier Valley) > Pontartica Combined APL: 29.00 Counters, Bank Account and other random things Ummm sorry sir. I replied to the old man. I wish I could help out, but Im not that good with construction and I need to get to Pontartica before night hits. Dont wanna get caught traveling at night through the ice. The first excuse was kinda weak and Ill admit to that. At the very least I knew the basics of working in construction. This was most likely due in part that I was the only man of the house and as such it was, or mostly is, expected out of me. You just have to hate partially chauvinistic society. I may have to reevaluate whether or not it is partially chauvinistic or not. Well, Im off. Good luck with your project sir. I added as I waved goodbye. Having said that, I immediately turned toward Pontartica and kept on trotting toward the snowy city. I kept my eyes peeled as I continued on my journey. Not only did I wish to keep an eye out for any random attacks by wild Pokemon, but I also wished to try and locate a wandering Yanma. The little bug would make a great addition to my team, not to mention would probably make a good playmate for Floyd's own Yanmega. I'm sure that it'd make a great ally when I finally get around to challenging the Radloff gym. Still, like they always say: "Never count your Torchics before they hatch." Best not to think about such things till I get close to the gym. Until then, I'll just worry about collecting and training a few more Pokemon in the mean time. 3 LP. +1 LP for abandoning a poor old man who thought he was going crazy ( I assume infamy now works like this... ) As you walk away from the odd little house, you hear an unearthly wail, as the swamp rose up around the house and swallowed it entirely, leaving nothing but a gently bubbling on the surface. Had it all been a dream? Perhaps you'd never know. Reaching the end of the Muskeg marsh, you notice an immediate change as you step across the threshold. It is surprisingly well demarcated. There is an obvious line of snow and ice, and even the air itself seems to get to suddenly colder the second you step across that line. Welcome to the Glacier Valley. As you start to head towards Pontarctica, and start to shiver through the cold, a small figure makes a rather stark contrast against the snowy landscape. It's a little feathery fluff of red - a Delibird, hauling along its sack. Something seems odd, though - the sack seems unusually large. It could just be natural variation, but it looks to be almost twice as large as normal, so much so that the Pokemon seems to be having some trouble with it. --- ![]() Lv 28 |
