Location: Just north of Moorfeldt, on the border really. -- I brushed the dry leaves with my bare hand, recounting my first interactions with Riley Fuba. A thorn dug into my skin, I could feel the pain but I didn't react. It dug deeper and punctured skin, a small glistening bead of red appeared, next to where dry blood still stained my skin from the similar wound that happened but a few hours earlier. "He had..." I hesitated, keen to choosing my words carefully, "Powers." I let the drop of blood trickle down my finger and land on a dried shrub leaf. The color contrast was uncannily similar to skin and blood, making it appear as if the shrub were bleeding, or crying blood. "He could make fire appear from nowhere and cause objects to act strangely." I continued, wondering if this information helped Fraiser at all. Then again, I remembered that this information might be of better use to the police. Fraiser, however--despite his apparent lack of belief--I felt would be more willing to accept these findings. I pointed to the area in which Riley had waved at me from. "He was there and he came rushing towards us, wondering if we had been hurt." I clenched my hand and another drop of blood was squeezed from it. "And then he started showing us what he called 'Magic Tricks' over there." I pointed to where Riley had performed his trickery. I tried to recall exactly what had happened, but still, I could find no explanation for the fire or how They could have missed how the objects he and I had been holding switched so rapidly. Hopefully, Fraiser had some answers for me. |

0.3 (Please forgive the lateness of my reply)“Interesting,” noted the investigator, genuinely intrigued. Things were actually starting to make more sense to him. The killer hadn’t left a trail aside from the bodies. And any potential witness was never sure that they had really seen anything. If he hadn’t checked police records and reports that Riley Fuba was a real person who had gone missing a few years ago he probably would’ve thought the man to be a myth or legend. Dren reacted to the scent of blood coming from Kagami’s finger and mewled at the reporter. “Hm?” he murmered before snapping out of his thoughts. “You ought to be more careful,” he said when he saw the cut, but making no more of it. He knelt down and ran a hand through the linoone’s silky fur. “C’mon Dren, concentrate. You need to try and pick up someone else’s trail, not the girl's, but someone she was with... can you do that?” Glossy black eyes, shimmering with intelligence stared back at him. There was a nod then the creature slid out of his fingers and began sniffing around the bush. Thinking more on what Kagami had revealed about Fuba the man nodded. “So some kind of illusionist eh? Magician. Plenty of those in Malral... that could also be a lead. Oh, I think he’s got something.” Dren was moving away from the bush now, following his nose close to the ground and slinking through the grass, westward. Frasier trailed behind him, his stride casual but anticipation lighting up his face. “He must’ve been a pretty good magician to have fooled you into thinking he had powers,” he said to Kagami conversationally. “You look like an intelligent girl.” OOC: He's generally heading towards Radloff City, but we don't know if that's the destination. You can choose what landmarks to cross as they follow the odour sleuthing linoone. |

0.2 ![]() But they were powers. There was certain information that I could disclose to Phrase, and some I could not. From an outsider's perspective, I would know too much for it not to be suspicious. And suspicion was something that I could not provoke, so I kept my mouth shut. I disregarded his last comment and began following the Linoone across the open land. I dreaded meeting Riley again, yet I thirsted for it. I had no desire to see to it that Riley Fuba be stopped or otherwise defeated in any way, but he had seen through my secret, my disguise. He knew what I really was, and although this was unsettling enough to us to want to find out why, this also meant ill for the plan that They had enacted for me. Now I was following the proclaimed nose that could sniff out Riley's next destination. I considered how wise this was and voiced my concerns to the Linoone's master. "You are sure that this creature can find what we're looking for through smell alone?" I asked, I had no time to be led into a dead-end, or worse, a trap. -- Currently: Old Hunting Foxholes Destination: Trampled Grass 1 -> Trampled Grass 2... NPC; Fraiser Phrase; Journalist for the Opaddekan Eye tabloid. Dren; Linoone - Leading Fraiser and Kagami on what's apparently Riley Fuba's scent trail. Edited by Blake Kinlion, Jan 3 2011, 06:36 PM.

0.3 I'ma try this. Forgive me if I fail epically; I'm going off a general understanding of what's going on.Walking through the foxholes was a bit dangerous; more than once the Linoone stopped over and sniffed down into the holes to see what was in there. This Linoone tended to have a few 'ooh, shiny' moments every here and there. After all, what creature wouldn't when there was treasure to be found with a powerful nose? More than once did it stop to turn up some bottle caps, ring pull tabs and other junk from the soil that shouldn't have been there. Treasure hoarder or environmentalist? You decide. Eventually, though, Dren was back on the trail like white on rice. Scurrying along the dirt, the creature was sniffing and moving, sniffing and moving. Occasionally, the Linoone would poke its head up, look around a bit, then change direction where the trail had gone a different way. That kind of thing was normal though, for such little detectives. Life wasn't easy being an overgrown ferret that had to hunt a single person by scent alone. You try it some time and see how well you do! As for the questioning? "Of course," Frasier replied. "Look at how well Dren's doing now. Led us all the way to the grass." And that he had - the grasses here were flat and the situation obviously slightly different. Frasier'd noted the fact that you had deigned to not answer his last question, which went down in the back of his mind. Possibly important for later, but at this point he didn't mind too much. This would all get interesting... later. Reached: Trampled Grass 1 |

0.3 ((If you want to take over this storyline, I have no qualms with that. I know KJ specifically said to me once "I can't see myself modding Kagami for like...a long time" So I'm sure he won't mind. You could probably weasel some plot ideas he had out of him, but I'm under the impression that even he doesn't know exactly where this is going. I'll give you a summary though =D))Summary Clearly Fraiser did not have the same concerns that I had. Sure Dren led us to the grass, but was he really following the scent trail left by Riley Fuba? Unfortunately, despite my doubts, I had no other lead to work on so Dren was going to have to do. For no reason in particular, I took this time of silent walking to wonder whether I would ever disclose to Fraiser that I was not myself and that They made up my character and personality. It almost came as a shock to me that I was considering this, but a few days ago I thought would have never come to mind. Perhaps it was the encounter with Riley that changed me somehow. As if I didn't want to become the monster that he turned into. I shook the idea from my mind and promised not to dwell on it any longer. And instead, I turned back to my main focus, trying to find Riley. -- Currently: Trampled Grass 1 Destination: Trampled Grass 2 -> Sparse Crops... |

0.3 okay this is getting convoluted and it's been a while but I remember KJ telling me I just have to get you to a city. ATTENTION EVERYONE. You can all mod Blake here. Seriously, don't leave people hanging, it's not cool. That includes me, but I'm the one doing this and not you. =3Okay so the idea of following a scent trail anywhere was a little weird. Was a Pokémon really that talented? Was it really that good at what it wanted to do? However, a certain someone by the name of Frasier Phrase believed so. Mostly because, for the longest time, he'd worked with Dren's talents and found out the hard way just how well they worked. So he had every reason to believe in his big furry Linoone. Besides, someone somewhere had to collect bottlecaps. Either way, the rest of the journey seemed to go in silence. Perhaps everyone was just entranced in the skittering Linoone, or maybe it was all just a little bit of a blur. Either way, the grasses seemed to change in texture very slightly, like they were covering something up, or they were a little bit more dead because of how often they were traversed. It wasn't quite clear. Oh, wait, it was, because everyone managed to simultaneously fall into a different hole! In that exact moment, Kagami, Frasier and Dren all fell into different holes. Fortunately, there were no major injuries from this fall. Just a couple scrapes and cuts here and there from errant rocks. The holes were all about three or four feet deep, like a Diglett had tried to go down here and hit some bedrock or granite below and couldn't go further. Either way, the challenge was now to get out of the holes; Frasier was off doing his thing in his hole and would need a little time to get out, which gave Kagami a minute or two to do the same. Who'd put holes in the ground here, seriously... Reached: Trampled Grass 2 Obstacle: Holes in the ground |

0.2 ![]() Silver sparks of light popped into existence in front of my eyes and shot across my field of vision. I had struck my head rather harshly on a rock jutting from the wall of the hole I had fallen into. I quickly realized that the human body wasn't as indestructible as most Pokémon bodies were, surely this was a reason why humans relied on Pokémon for protection. Fraiser and Dren were climbing out of their respective holes. I could have easily let Them levitate me out of the trap, but in present company, there was no point in making a spectacle. Instead, I hoisted my elbows onto the ground's surface, used my feet against the wall to help psh me out, and flopped onto the grass and hay to find Dren's wet nose pressed against mine. Apparently the creature wanted to know whether or not I was alright. Now that that annoyance was out of the way, I wordlessly continued in the direction that Dren lead us in, now more careful of where I stepped. -- Currently: Trampled Grass 2 (Looking out for holes) Destination: Sparse Crops 2 → Grand Crop Circle... |

0.2 ![]() Now that you knew what to look out for, the pot holes scattered throughout the grass were much easier to avoid. You made good time through the Moorfeldt Grasslands, and soon reached the long, ragged line of fencing that marked the beginning of the Radloff Farmlands. The outlying farms here aren't as heavily farmed as the Grand Crop Circle. Some fields are pasture, with herds of Miltank or Mareep put out to graze - Mareep wool is actually a highly desirable textile, even if it does build up potentially dangerous levels of static charge just from being jostled around. The ground is flat for the most part, with straight farm tracks dividing the fields. You actually make it all the way through the outlying fields without incident. Once you reach the inner plateau, however, you encounter a problem. See, the Grand Crop Circle, being on a natural plateau of arable land, is well... surrounded by fairly steep slopes. They're not cliffs, but they're quite rugged and will involve no small amount of mountaineering to clamber over, unless you want to trudge along the tracks to find one of the uncommon ramp-ways that allow for heavy farm machinery be transported between the inner and outer farmlands. -------------- Destination Reached: Grand Crop Circle (border of) ~ Obstacle Encountered: Steep slopes. |
