Ayame
Big Dreamer
Note- It won't be too long, but I'm having Piplup evolve into Prinplup here, so I'm looking for at least 1 or more happiness point thingy. ^^

Ayame exited Lorenzo Town with a content sigh before breathing in the nice open air of the Lorenzian Wildlands. It had such a different feel than the Forest of Fury. The forest seemed so trecherous and misleading. Her time within it had been scary enough and she knew that she had had it quite easy compared to the stories that her mother had told her when she was younger. A shudder ran down her spine in which she quickly quelled, returning the smile to her face in an instant.

Taking a few steps towards the tall grass ahead of her, she stopped and looked back to Lorenzo Town, quite content in the fact that she was leaving for now. Taking a hold of one of the pokeballs at her belt, Ayame threw it to release Mizu, her faithful partner since the beginning. The little Piplup looked up to her with a smile rivaling her own. Immediately she picked the cute little penguin up and nuzzled him. "Mizu, I know we still have such a long journey ahead of us, but look at us! We've already travelled to two towns away from Hillmoss and home."

"Pip, Pip, Piplup!"

Another nuzzle was in order, pulling Mizu to her chest once more and hugging him tightly. She pulled him away now, holding him up into the sky like one would with a human baby, smile still etched into her face as she spoke, "I don't know where our journey will take us next, but I know you've been working hard. So, I thought I'd take you to this Gully I heard of from the towns people. Its a nice little pond that you'll be able to let loose and swim in. Sound good?"

The Piplup danced around in her hands, obviusly quite happy about the idea of finally being able to get back into the water and swim. It had been such a long time since he had, in fact, if he remembered correctly it hadn't been since back in Hillmoss before they had left. It had been quite some time since then which only made his urge for the water even stronger.

"Mizu, you're an amazing partner and you deserve the best. We just have to keep getting stronger and stronger until one day, we're the strongest", she whispered tenderly, giving the little water Pokemon a peck on the top of his forehead. Mizu beamed, his reaction something far more than what Ayame had expected. His entire form faded from existence, carried away by a magnificent white light. Out of reflex, Ayame quickly put her Pokemon down knowing full well what was taking place. After a few moments of glowing, his form grew larger, wider, and most likely more powerful.

As the light faded, little Mizu wasn't exactly so little anymore. Instead of her starter Pokemon Piplup standing before her, he now stood somewhat tall as a proud Prinplup, a prince of penguins if you will. Ayame knelt down in front of her newly evolved Pokemon, still in awe at his sudden change. It was of course welcomed though, which could be seen with the twinkle in her eyes. She had seen Pokemon evolve before, one of her own even. Kochou had evolved twice, from little Caterpie into a Butterfree. It meant so much, but not as much as Mizu evolving for her.

"Oh Mizu, you look great!", with a giggle following, Ayame patted her new Prinplup on the head before bowing before him like a subject would to a prince. "You know what? Time off for you! I'll get you to the Gully as quick as possible and all you have to do is have a leisurely time relaxing in your Pokeball. SOund good?"

"Prin! Prinplup!"

A grin was given, her lips stretching across her face like a chesire cat as she pulled out Prinplup's pokeball. In a beam of red light, he returned to the ball's confines. Ayame kissed the top of the ball and minimized it, re-attaching it to her belt with a new found confidence. She stood tall, like her Prinplup, and made her way into the tall grass ahead, wading through it like a champion. They were one more step towards their goal now, and they would keep making these steps until they were on par with that of the Elite Four---until they were the absolute best.
________________________

Other than a heart(s) for Prinplup, feel free to toss some Pokemon at me. I'm going to try and level my Scyther and Drifloon a quick bit on the way to the Gully. Thanks. ^^

Any Pokémon who was being treated so kindly-- and so much so that they evolved-- would certainly be happy with their trainer for all the hard work that they were putting in. As was the case with many creatures who were well-treated by their trainers, the Pipup-- sorry, Prinplup-- was far happier with Ayame for her efforts. And, quite frankly, that kind of praise was such a good method of encouragement that it was just a little more than normal.

Mizu gains 1 :happiness for evolving and 1 :happiness for all that good treatment.

Anyways, on with the story.

The tale of the Scyther who had cut up a whole bunch of foes that looked stronger than it had reached the ears of creatures close by in nature. Tales of blood and destruction, of dances macabre and deadly, annihilation left in its wake... Kamakiri had built up a small reputation. This had achieved two things: first, those who were weak would avoid Kamakiri and its human, for fear of being destroyed.

The second was that those who thought themselves powerful would come to challenge them in order to test their might and conquer the blooded. It was now a test of skill, but who would step up to challenge the fighter that could give them the true challenge of a lifetime. There was absolutely no better way than to plot the ambush and defeat of a human... news always did travel fast.

So it was no surprise to the universal Aspect when an Aipom jumped out of the grass and tried to jump on Ayame, tackling her to the ground. It wanted to fight. It wanted a battle. It wanted blood.

Unfortunately for Ayame, the glee and excitement that had welled up inside of her had been completely stripped by the little invader monkey. With hardly a handful of steps into the tall grass, the darn little thing rushed out at her and somewhoe managed to tackle her to the ground. It was brief, but the moment she was on the ground, Aipom clearly declaring himself amazing and wanting a battle, Ayame was shocked. However, she wasn't shocked enough to not let her hand fly and smack the little chimp clear off of her chest.

She was fuming, the intent in her voice that she, too, wasn't kidding around. "Oooh! You'll pay for that you wretched little thing! Kamakiri, Kurokaze, get out here and destroy him!" With that, Ayame grabbed two balls from her belt and let them fly. One released her adorable little balloon Pokemon, Kurokaze, while the other released her infamous Scyther Kamakiri who was always ready to protect his trainer and fight in another battle. Out of habit, Kamakiri stepped infront of Ayame to protect her, while Kurokaze lazily floated up into the air in order to get a height advantage.

"Kuro, charge at Aipom and then follow up with double Weather Ball, and be a ghost about it, will you? Kamakiri, you know the drills. Swords Dance and X-Scissor combo!"

That said, Kamakiri immediately started to scrape his blades against one another in order to make them sharper. Meanwhile, Kurokaze charged straight at the little normal type monkey, charging straight through him (being a ghost and all) and turning once behind the little sucker. This was followed by the double Weather Ball his ever so bi-polar trainer requested. Kamakiri, now finished sharpening his blades, flitted forward with his blades crossed, pulling them against one another in a released X pattern as they connected with the monkey.

No Aipom would get the jump on her like that, or any Pokemon rather, without getting a firm and tough disciplinary punishment for it. It was rude, unhonorable, and down right dirty and she, for one, didn't like it one bit.

Stupid Aipom...

And there it was, the Aipom mused to itself - the very enemy it had come out here to destroy. For all intents and purposes, that was the very fight it had been asking for. However, what the little purple monkey had not expected was that a big purple floaty thing would come out to join it. It was normally meant to be just the Scyther, right? Right? Obviously, it wasn't happening here.

And, of course, it had just been slapped by a girl, which was pretty much the biggest insult ever as it went flying. What kind of crazy bitch was- holy cow did that big balloon just float through him? Oh wow that was a scary feeling. That just felt so creepy. In fact, the Aipom wasn't going to even touch something that was so... unbearably terrifying. The Scyther was doing. Now was the chance to hit it and stop it from counter-attacking! Despite the hit that it had just taken from the foggy ball launched at it, the little critter pressed on.

Leaping through the air, the Aipom landed atop Kamakiri right as the Scyther was halfway through its dance- but it was still enough for the Scyther to focus its claws into being razor-sharp appendages. While the Aipom drove its claws through Kamakiri's face not once, but twice, opening yet another wound up near its eye, Kamakiri responded in the best way he knew how - cut a bitch to pieces.

A crossing slash of its claws and Kamakiri had put yet another opponent on the ground, the Aipom next to his green body, un-moving. It was very much unconscious, and that meant there was another foe defeated. It had been a simple matter, but Kamakiri had done an excellent job. Truly, this creature would evolve to be a powerful fighter - if, by any chance, it ever did.

The battle was over. Both Kamakiri and Kurokaze did amazing jobs and worked well together as a team. Ayame had to say, they were very reliable Pokemon. She couldn't wait to see how strong they could become and how great of Pokemon they would be once they both evolved. Briefly, Ayame could imagine a Scizor flitting around in a red blur, knocking out all of his opponents. Meanwhile, a Drifblim would be floating around, raining shadow balls down on his opponents controlled and pushed harder with the currents from the wind. Every aspect of it was enough to bring a cheesy grin to her face.

They would be her champions.

"Oh, good job you two!" she exclaimed while reaching into her pack to pull out a Potion. She hurried over to where the two of them were, smile still set in place as she patted Kamakiri on the shoulder and high-fived Kurokaze. Using her pointer finger to tell her Scyther to bend down a little, she pointed the Potion to the nasty scratch wounds on his head, spraying the medicine after he closed his eyes. A visible wince was given before pulling away quickly once the spray stopped. Kamakiri shook his head a little before carefully opening his eyes once more, sighing kind of.

"Yeah, I know it stung, sorry. But I didn't want you to be vulnerable in the next Pokemon Battle. Especially if they come out and jump on you instead of me." Ayame's smile lessened a little, not knowing whether or not she would go and smack a Pokemon off of one of her own, or just order them to attack them themselves. It was a funny thought, but she dismissed it for now with a shrug and continued walking. Wordless and faithful, Kamakiri and Kurokaze followed.

-Insert Events of Lorenzian Wildlands Freeform here-

Her knuckles were white as snow, the pressure within her fists enough to break bones. It was amazing how she could hold back the screams that she had wanted to simply yell at the top of her lungs. But she kept herself together, eyes semi-closed in a 'happy' gaze while lips stayed twitching up at the sides to attempt a smile. It was a nice act, but nothing that her Pokemon couldn't see through. Both Kamakiri and Kurokaze knew that Ayame was still upset, though they didn't exactly know for what. Both of them weren't around her for the majority of whatever had upset her. They hated it that they couldn't have been there.

"La, la, la, such a nice day out, don't you agree guys?" She spun around in a circle as she walked, arms outstretched to the side of her, yet her hands still in clenched fists. "The Gully is going to be so serene and peaceful. It'll be like we're on our own little vacation!"

Kamakiri and Kurokaze looked towards one another, Kuro floating somewhat sideways and tilted as if to project a confused expression without saying a word. Kamakiri merely shook his head, dismissing the issue. Despite wanting to help his trainer, he knew that if she was shrugging the situation off, or at least trying to, it wouldn't help her one bit at all if either of them pushed the subject. It wouldn't be like she would understand them, but she would probably get the gist of it.

Despite their worry, the trio simply trekked on through the tall grass, their leader apparently without a care in the world. Or perhaps, too much care to be even be noticed...

Not everything in this world was meant to be easy or simple. In fact, most things around here were quite the opposite. As Ayame and her allies absconded towards the gully, the Pokémon present in this place perceived her presence. That meant one of three things, really - she was going to be attacked, she was going to be left alone, or she was going to be befriended. There was no real variance from those three patterns in the world of Pokémon, broad as those categories tended to be. It made life simpler, right?

Right.

This time, it wasn't a difficult choice. It also wasn't a good way to be kept alive if one rushed blindly into battle, seeking glory for the defeat of Kamakiri. No, things around here were a little bit smarter. Mostly.

Actually, that was a total and utter lie. One more little critter stepped up to test your might. This time, it was a Rattata.... yeah, a little measly Rattata, who looked sickly and weak, as if you'd just stepped across his territory that he was now being forced to protect from outside invaders. In the Wildlands, it was hard to see the natural habitats that formed amongst the itchy grass. This time, the Rattata snarled and growled, then coughed a little. It still stood, proud, trying to defend its honour. Brave, but foolish.

It was a pathetic sight really. The way nature held the strong and the weak, allowing them to go at even though it was obvoius who the victor would be between the two classes. The strange thing was how even those who were weak has the bravery to stand up against those who oppressed them. It was commendable, to say the least, but at the same time kind of foolish. If one would succeed than it was the best thing to happen to them, however if they were to fail, who knows what the consequences could be, especially out in the Wildlands like this. Anything could happen, nice or ruthless.

The Rattata was the same. Ayame's initial reaction was to help the poor thing. Give it a berry to help get over its sickness rather than let it stay out here shivering and weak. Then, in retrospect, she wanted the mouse to know that not everything was as easy as the ideals he must have. It would have been one thing if he were in good health challenging them, but that wasn't the case. If in his defeat she can help him be aware that he needed to get strong on his own first before challenging others that were clearly stronger, than she would do it.

"Kuro, Kama, it's time for another battle," the words came out slow, in an almost cold, unappreciative voice. Both the Drifloon and Scyther looked at one another momentarily before positioning themselves in front of their trainer and the little rat Pokemon who had the audacity to challenge them. "Kuro, use Gust to get the Rattata off the ground and into the wind. Kama, follow it up with a danced Vacuum Wave."

Her two Pokemon repsonded as they were told. Kurokaze floated up into the air more and whipped his little arms about, creating a strong gust of wind that was sent at the small Rattata. Kamakiri in the meantime sharpened his blades with a Swords Dance before booming out of existence with the Vacuum Wave following the Gust. A super powered Vacuum Wave on top of the Gust would be more than enough to knock the rat out and that would be his lesson.

[landmark: four-foot grass 2]

Beautifully, majestically, Scyther began his mystic dance. He spiraled in perfect waves and his scythes extended to the skies; ribbons of green and white trailed around the mantis pokémon as if in adornment. With spectacular flourish the mantis finished his dance: both scythes were raised to the sky, glimmering with dangerous intensity.

The rattata hissed in response. He was old and tired and had already lost the will to fight, trembling vaguely before his enormous opponents. He had only himself to blame: he had called for this fight, not Ayame. The purple mouse pokémon bared its yellow teeth and charged forward at the drifloon, only to be swept away by a powerful gust of wind. The sheer force of the gale caused the rattata to wince in pain. Still, the rat charged forward, throwing himself at the drifloon in a heavy tackle. He bit down on her gossamer purple body to leave his mark.

In a flash Scyther had unleashed his attack. He flew forward at an incredible speed and struck the tiny rat in the skull – sending him flying backwards through the grasses, at least two and a half feet, to lie unconscious against the base of a tree. The tall grasses swallowed the rattata instantly but before he disappeared Ayame could see that he was finished. Kama looked almost pleased with himself.

The wind rushed through the grasses and forced them to part. A red and black ball rolled curiously towards Ayame. Apparently the little rattata had found something, and had been attempting to keep it from Ayame et al. when she’d arrived: a luxury ball, unused, shining like a little black pearl where the mouse had once stood.

0.3 :gexp2 (thank you so much! That luxury ball is gonna come in handy!)

Ayame had no doubts that her two Pokemon were going to completely destroy that Rattata. Of course, she did feel a little bad for sending her Pokemon into battle against such an ill and older Rattata but that was how things needed to be. Sooner or later the little purple rat would awaken and go about his business just fine. The experience gained would be put to good use and sooner or later it would help her evolve not only Kamakiri, but Kurokaze as well. Just like Mizu had evolved from all of their hard work.

I can see it now, Empoleon, Scizor, Drifblim, Roserade, Mismagius, and Froslass...

She had high hopes for all of her Pokemon. Even if some would be put into the PC for a bit, then brought back out for a bit, then back to the PC again. Ayame had a purpose and plan for each one of them. Especially now being in Vanishing Point and even more so after finding out more about the divorce between her parents. When she did find her father, she wanted to decimate him in a Pokemon battle. She wanted to show him her mother's pain and show him her own discomfort and sadness due to his selfishness.

With a bit of a smirk, she walked over to where the luxury ball had rolled out from the grasses, curiously checking it out before pocketing it. That would come in quite handy if she ever found a Pokemon that had a happiness evolution. And, if she got her way, eventually she would need it for an Eevee or Togepi if she could ever find one. But that was besides the point. With a smile now and a thumbs up to her Pokemon, Ayame continued forward with Kamakiri closely behind her and Kurokaze hovering lazily above, taking his own version of a break until the next threat showed itself.

Maybe just a few more battles to go and the Gully should be right in front of us. I can let my Pokemon play while I come up with my next move.

Things were heavy on your mind as you walked. The truth is, things will never be easy. But no one had to tell you that, eh? That is when Fate comes in to bring two disparate souls together, at least for understanding. But did you want to do that? Or throw another barrage of attacks on a kindred soul?

The Jigglypuff was sitting on the ground, almost hidden by grass. Her melodic voice, which did not intend to cause anyone to fall asleep, did cast it spell onto a few Pokemon around. You could hear just an echo of her song; but that was enough to make you feel a little drowsy. Nothing that would stop you on your journey unless you wanted to get nearer.

All you knew was her song was seduction. She sang of power, she sang of magic and she sang of the world. There was a bit of everyone in the song: and almost anyone could empathize with her. Even in the grass, her pink form could be seen if you squinted, her ocean-colored eyes shining brightly as she looked at the sky.

A Sentret stood on his tail, right in front of you. Maybe it was the song, but he didn't move. All he managed to say was: "Beautiful song, eh? Don't you just find yourself so in love with her?" He turned and realized you were a human and he scampered away, but not without parting words: "Be careful of her. A Jigglypuff's song can make you sleep forever; and she doesn't seem like she's going to stop."

What would you do? You could continue, or try to defeat her -- which wouldn't be hard -- but the fact is, she didn't mean to do what she was currently doing.

0.4 just because for some reason, this post really had me smilin'

A serene song filled the air and almost immediately she felt as though she could relax into the folds of time and simply allow her feet to take her wherever they pleased. It was as though anything in the world could happen and she would simply not care whatsoever of the outcome. Ayame liked this feeling, a lot quite honestly. In fact, compared to everything that had seemed to fall apart in her life, this song made it feel as though it could all be mended somehow.

Maybe that was why she loved Pokemon so much.

Either way, a Sentret popped up in front of her, gushing over the melodic voice of the Jigglypuff before running away after realizing that she was a human. Sure a warning came with his departure, but she didn't care. Taking her fingers and pinching her arm in order to keep herself awake, Ayame slowly moved, almost like a waltz to a ballad, over to the round pink form of the Pokemon. A soft, whimsical like smile had been etched into her face as she began to pick up on the jigglypuff's rhythm and sing with her.

It wasn't exactly the most conventional way of catching a Pokemon, but she figured with how beautiful the voice of the Jigglypuff was, someone daring to get closer to her knowing the side effects simply to sing along would be nothing less than a compliment. Of course, she had been fooled by Pokemon in the past so despite that overall feel of contentment, a little voice in the back of her head insisted that she be ready to let loose one of her trusted partners to take the little pink powerpuff out!

Guess they were right when they say it ain't over till the fat lady sings.

Her song was entwined with another. Jigglypuff sat up, her large eyes staring in the distance. Who could that be? No one ever sang with her before. She grinned at Ayame as she appeared, green meeting silver eyes. She slowly stood up, and adjusted her song so their voices now were in harmony. The Pokemon all around her snoozed away, their eyes closed; but as Ayame sang with her, she slowly lowered her voice, letting Ayame's voice take charge.

When she sang of the world, Ayame seemed to sing of its glory. When she sang about battles, Ayame sang about peace. When she sang about love, Ayame sang about hate. It seemed like they were always in perfect understanding; almost immediately, Jigglypuff too felt at ease and slowly trailed off.

Although softer, it seemed like her voice still took hold as Ayame's mind grew lighter, but not light enough to cause sleep. Jigglypuff tiptoed on one foot and twirled around, and bowed to Ayame as she finished her song. She laughed and said in her Pokelanguage: "Thanks for sharing your voice with me." It almost never happened; most people and Pokemon were entranced by her voice; and also repulsed by it. No one sang along and she was impressed by Ayame.

She said in her sing-song voice, "Hmm, I didn't mean to cause any trouble. Do you know what I could do to wake these Pokemon up?" She didn't know if Ayame understood her language but she stared at the sleeping forms around her worriedly.

Ayame had to admit, despite current circumstances, singing along with the Jigglypuff had an odd calming effect over her. In fact, it allowed her to completely forget about her problems for the moment. The melody that the two of them had created by their combined voices was magical. Even Kamakiri and Kurokaze backed off in order to allow the two to sing together. It wasn't everyday that a Pokemon, especially a Jigglypuff, and a human shared a duet.

When they were done, Ayame could tell the Jigglypuff was quite pleased and was thanking her in her own pokelanguage. Unfortunately she couldn't understand her and didn't have any Pokemon with her that could translate. Ayame did, however, bow her head and kind of curtsy as a your welcome. She pondered though at Jigglypuff's worried gaze. It wasn't until she noticed the two sleeping Rattata until she had gotten an idea to help them.

"Hold on, I think I have something to help them." She rummaged through her bag before pulling out two Awakenings. Ayame kept one for one rat and gave the other to the Jigglypuff so she could use it on the other rat. "Just spray it on one of the Rattata and they will wake up, alright?" She offered a somewhat smile before heading over to one of the Rattata and sprayed the contents, hoping it was strong enough to rouse the mouse from the slumber from a Jigglypuff song...

Well, this was most certainly a new way of dealing with the situation. Two sleeping rats plus two Awakenings, one of which was not yet used, meant an easy solution: one awake rat and one not-yet-awake rat. The one who had just woken up perked his ears up and looked around groggily, where he could try and perceive what was going on through still-blurred vision. What he saw was not good... everything was still looking a little weird, but that was a human and a Jigglypuff. Damn things. They did this all the time. When they got the urge to sing, it was naptime for everyone else. Damnit.

The Jigglypuff was suddenly handed a human thing. Now, no Pokémon was trained in the actual use of these things, let alone a wild one; she kind of scratched her head a whole lot and looked at it. Was she meant to drink it to gain magical powers or something? That was what it looked like. And magical powers did sound kind of cool... it was only the fact that the human used one herself that she kind of understood.

Hold it up, push the trigger and... Ack! She sprayed herself in the eye!

"Puuuuuff!" she shouted, running around screaming holding the bottle still. In an attempt to fix it, she turned it around and sprayed the remainder of it at the other Rattata, which... well, at least it woke up too, but its awakening was more sudden and jerky. This wasn't looking good. That Rattata dashed away. Whoops, down one already. Not exactly the best start to the day.

So we have one Jigglypuff whose eye is stinging, one totally confused Rattata and another who'd run away. What next?

0.4 :gexp2 for making me spit my drink out~

Ayame inhaled sharply and gathered the Jigglypuff into her arms (after she sprayed the remainder of the bottle onto the Rattata that is) and hugged her. Using the fabric of her shirt, she wiped at the poor pink puffball's eyes in an attempt to get the stinging sensation away. Poor thing. She felt bad that the Jigglypuff had hurt herself, but she thought it was a good idea to have the Jigglypuff have a chance to right her accidental wrong. Oh well.

"You did good. I'm sorry you hurt yourself, I just thought you would have wanted to help wake the Pokemon up is all." She smiled and patted the Jigglypuff on the head before letting her go so she may do as she pleased. This little encounter, however, made Ayame not want this to end just yet.

"Actually, Jigglypuff. I would really like for you to come with me on my journey. We can sing songs together and enjoy a great journey. It'll be hard, and full of battles. If you'd like, we could get started right now and show that Rattata who's boss for falling asleep during your song!" Ayame stood now, looking back at her drowsy Scyther and Drifloon who simply stayed back and allowed their trainer to try and work her magic. If all worked well then they would walk away with a new friend and companion.

How exciting!

Her eye stung; but the trainer tried to wipe it all off. It felt slightly better but she continued to tear. The Jigglypuff stared at Ayame, large inhuman eyes shimmering. Her eye still stung but she knew this girl was full of good intentions. Furthermore, how they sang together... that was magic. What else could it be? She had always longed for a companion, one to sing about life and death, about the world together. Of course, she always envisioned another Jigglypuff, preferably a male, but why not this trainer? Her voice was steady and strong and she helped her clean up her mess.

She stuck out her little stubby hand. She was willing to join; but what does she mean fight with the Rattata? Oh no, she couldn't do something like that! She knew her song had some kind of influence -- they attracted Pokemon to her, but they made them sleep before they could hear all of it. The Rattata rubbed his own eyes, looked at Jigglypuff and he bowed: "I wish I could've heard the whole thing."

She didn't want to fight him; but if her new trainer forced her to...

Offer her a Pokeball and she'll hop right in. :happiness x 1 if you don't mind not battling the little rat or 0 :happiness if you want her to battle.

Reluctance. It was quite obvious on the Jigglypuff's face when it came to battling the Rattata. Ayame wondered why, of course, but at the same time couldn't really question it. She couldn't go around making friends if she would force them against their will just because she wanted to. That wouldn't make her a good trainer at all. Instead, she set the pokeball she intended to catch the Jiggylpuff in on the ground and cast a smile to her new little friend while shaking her head.

"It's alright Jigglypuff, you don't have to fight him if you don't want to. However, there will be fights and battles on my journey, and I'm going to rely on you to help me win those battles. But I promise, I won't make you battle anyone you don't want to, alright?"

Her smile was still there as she patted the pink puff on her head and moved away slightly so she could give her new friend room to touch the pokeball and be sucked in, free from a battle that she didn't want to do. All relationships start with an act of kindness afterall. Once she was inside the pokeball, it was zapped away to the PC system where Ayame would have to greet her back in Lorenzo at the pokemon center later, name her, and perhaps put her in the party.

She wasn't sure yet, but time would tell. Now, all that mattered was getting to the Gully.

The fact of the matter was that the Gully was unbelievably close; so close in fact that it was clear there would be only a matter of minutes until you reached it. While no maps truly contained such geographical definitions, the sheer change in the landscape of the wildlands proved the difference. It just gave you something to work towards as you powered your way through the tall grasses that obfuscated your vision.

At least, on the plus side, you got there unscathed now. No more encounters. No more interruptions, no more being distracted by little creatures that hid in plain sight through the grass. Just you, and the one thing that awaited you in the Gully. Just fate.

We'll see how that goes.

Finally, they all had reached the Gully. It seemed as though it had taken them forever, but the sight of the nice calm waters was everything to her. A calm reached her, as well as a smile, in which she turned to Kuro and Kama and nodded. Kuro simply floated up and let the breeze take him, lazily drifting through the sky. Kama went to the waters edge and dipped in, soaking his lower half with a sigh, relaxing.

"Alright everyone, especially Mizu, here's your reward for working so hard!"

She tried to sound happy, overjoyed even, but with recent events she simply couldn't. All Ayame could do was rely on that sense of calm, hoping that it was able to support her own crumbling pillar without and lasting cracks. Upon release, Mizu immediately perked up and rushed to the water, diving right on in with a perfect swan dive. He swam around spitting water with a smile. Ibarahime found the warmest spot she could under the sun and ingrained herself to take a nap while Yuurei simply joined Kuro in floating aimlessly through the skies.

"Sno, Snorunt..."

Ayame shook her head, picking up her little Snorunt and hugging her. Yuki-Onna was an ice type. Being in direct sunlight like this probably wasn't all that great for her. So, Ayame walked over to the water and dipped the little snow cap pokemon into its depths, nearly submerging her, before pulling her back out and sitting her in the shade of a shrub. The shadows and the wetness from the water being enough to keep her cool at least.

That was the thing about being a Pokemon Trainer. It wasn't just themselves and their achievements they had to worry about. The well being and happiness of her friends as well mattered. Without that, they all couldn't be a team. Hopefully this would show them all that she meant what she said when she obtained each and every one of them one by one--she would make them feel like family.

They're the only family I can really rely on anymore...
