Team A Little Cup tournament. Josh had no expertise in that department, but the tournament was a-calling, and there was no way that he was going to turn down this opportunity. He arrived at the stadium and the young Trainer was amazed at the place. This was his first time at the stadium, and he was at awe at how beautiful the building was. Beautiful indeed, but Josh was here for the tournament, not for the view. Skipping around and whatnot, Josh signed up for the tournament. After he did so, he waited around for his round to start. He stood at one of the support pillars as he waited, eating some fried dough that he purchased earlier. As he was waiting, he was thinking of how far he could go in the tournament. His battle strategies from the past haven't worked out so well, so perhaps now was a good time to brainstorm some strategies. It was also a double battle, so he also made to make sure that he wouldn't choose a move that would hurt his own Pokemon. Yeah, think of a strategy, or keep eating that delicious fried dough. ... Anyway, there he waited. His figured that his round would start soon, so he finished the rest of his fried dough and headed on to the battlefield. |

(0.2 . Enjoy your cookie cutter mod to get you started.)The noise as you stepped out was deafening - the prospect of meeting their favourite pro trainers had drawn thousands of people to the stadium. Once you had taken your position at one end of the field, the announcer's voice boomed over the loudspeakers. "Ladies and Gentlemen! Next up to challenge the pros is a newcomer to the competitive battling scene. Hailing from Goldenrod City, Johto, give it up for Josh Connors!" The crowd let out an encouraging cheer, and applauded. "And introducing his first opponent. She's a veteran to the pro circuit who takes no prisoners. All the way from Slumber, let's hear it for the Iron Maiden herself, Agnes Robin!" Across from you stood a stern middle-aged woman, who waved to the crowd when they erupted into wild cheers. As per Little Cup rules, Agnes was tasked to release her pokémon first, so she duly obliged. She nodded respectfully towards you, then called out her pokémon. "Hector! Shelley! Let's go!" Flicking two pokéballs into the arena, they both burst, revealing a Mantyke and a Smoochum. They took up position on their half of the arena, and prepared themselves for battle. The referee situated at the side of the field relayed instructions as to how the battle should progress next. "The challenger may now choose his two pokémon for this round, and may also call out the first commands."

.2 (I love cookies)Josh made his way to the battlefield and the roaring crowd sure put a smile on his face. Though, they definitively had no idea who he was, they were cheering simply for the fact that they were going to witness two Trainers and their Pokemon beat the living crap out of each other. That's entertainment! Anyway, after giving the introductions to both Trainers, Josh's opponent sent out her two Pokemon. A Mantyke and Smoochum. The decision to send out which Pokemon was tough. Larvitar's Rock Slide could do great damage against both Pokemon, but would he be able to take super effective hits, also? Swinub couldn't touch any of the two, so he was out of the game plan. Cyndaquil could take on the Smoochum, but also, not the Mantyke. This battle would certainly be risky for Josh, but no risk meant no reward. So, he sent out his Cyndaquil and Larvitar, who were ready for combat. "Okay, let's bring our A game fellas. Larvitar, use two Rock Slides to hit both opponents twice. Cyndaquil, after he does that, use a Flamethrower twice, one on each of them. This should hopefully knock out at least one of them."

0.2 ~ Agnes studied you calmly as you gave your orders. She didn't seem to be in any rush or to honestly be too worried about your tactics. Pure offense was a commonly used strategy, one she'd seen many times. But she had a few tricks up her sleeve you probably weren't expecting. With only a curt nod and a clearing of her voice, her pair sprang into action. Her Shelley was evenly matched for speed with your Cyndaquil and the pair both released their attacks simultaneously. While the searing hot heat of Cyndaquil's flamethrower bared down on poor Shelley she retaliated with a little song. It was the last thing she was able to muster as the flames licked over her icy body. Shelley whimpered quietly as she fell to the sandy floor unconscious. No word was spoken by Agnes as she recalled the smoochum. The tactic had worked as Cyndaquil was now slumbering peacefully on the ground. That was one problem taken care of for the moment. Now there was just the Larvitar, and unfortunately for the dual rock ground type, Hector was just a wee bit faster. Hector sucked in a powerful breath and blew a stream of glistening bubbles straight for Larvitar. The overwhelming attack stopped whatever Larvitar had been attempting and knocked the rock skin pokémon out of this match. The battle had dwindled to one on one now, though Hector had the obvious upper hand. Agnes cleared her throat slightly as she turned her gaze to you patiently waiting your next set of orders.

.2 "Oh Lord," Josh said to himself when his Larvitar was knocked out and Cyndaquil was put to sleep. "Off to a bad start," he thought to himself, thinking of how he could possibly wake up his Cyndaquil. The roaring crowd was making enough noise already, so would his voice wake the Cyndaquil up? It didn't seem likely that it would, but he was out of options. Already at the risk of being eliminated, Josh folded his hands together and formed it into a megahorn-like shape to hopefully focus his voice just on Cyndaquil. "Wake up, Cyndaquil! Use a Smokescreen and try to get out of there!" Not much he could do now, but wait and see if his Cyndaquil would wake up. Talk about a bad start... |

.2 "Talk about some bad luck." Cried the loudspeaker. In one fell shot Agnis has taken out one of our challenger's pokemon and now -" Mantine did the most predictable thing possible. It used Bubblebeam. As if that hadn't been anticipated. The blast of sparkling bubbles rocketed from the flapping water type and snapped and popped nastily against the sleeping fire type. That quickly, it was all over. Agnis looked indifferent and merely returned her pokemon while the crowd cheered hysterically for her. "It's over folks, better luck next time for our challenger. But give them both a round of applause for a well played match!" Clapping and shouting once more arose from the stands and the loudspeaker continued to rattle on. "We invite Josh to remain for the conclusion of today's event, there's still lots of fun and festivities to be had." |
