Round Two. 4.9 journey + 2.6 Mod + Staryu = 5 more levels and no more GenXP for me. 5 levels = level 51 and cosmic power as part of natural set... and... WATER STONE GO! YOUR STARYU HAS EVOLVED INTO STARMIE HOLY BALLS HOW LONG DID YOU WANT TO DELAY THAT KIRIN YOU IDIOT. So now that we have the Starmie surfboard, all that remains is to RP this and then head on over to Mayriver. Savvy? |

Kirin the Bloodedge

Broken, battered and bruised, Elijah managed to make it into Misthenge. He and his weary companions traveled tiredly to the Move Tutor for a brief interlude there in order to ensure that the Staryu that he had captured for himself was indeed ready with a varied knowledge of moves, and then finally, bone-weary and exhausted to the point of collapse, made their way into the Pokémon Centre, almost ready to faint in the doorway. However, Elijah refused, and dragged his sorry carcass right up to the bench, calling Remilia and Terashi back to their balls and placing all four of the occupied Poké Balls on the bench. He himself barely dragged himself over to one of the couches in the Trainer's Lounge and collapsed of utter exhaustion and pain. Elijah was strong, but he wasn't Superman - and a thought echoed in his mind, that he would need to grow stronger and soon. It was the last one he could afford before passing out; his body had been running on high for far too long. Even it needed to rest. Then, darkness. Elijah woke up a few hours later to find his bag stowed rather neatly at the head of the couch he was sleeping upon and the four Poké Balls he'd surrendered to the nurses placed carefully atop it. Well, that was a nice touch for them to have returned them that way; from the couch as his eyes opened, he could see that one of the nurse's attendants was smiling at him. He couldn't help but smile back; it was a rather nice thing she'd done for him. He nodded his thanks - he appreciated it greatly. Reaching over to the Great Balls, he tapped three of them out - Terashi, Remilia and the Staryu all arose from their slumber, their physical forms appearing before him, He looked to each of them, but particularly the starfish. "All rested? Everyone feeling okay?" I feel excellent. It's been a while since I was in one of these places. Remilia barked her assent, too, and Elijah was surprised to even hear the lingering voice of the star in his mind, jewel glowing brightly as it communicated mentally to him. He was not aware of that capability of the starfish species. Without a doubt he had just obtained a team member that was full of surprises. For a human that interrupted the Dance... I do feel better, yes. Thank you for asking. Its mental voice was flat, if not at least slightly thankful for the healing, couched in anger for the fact that it had been snatched from its home in the Loch during... something, whatever it was. Elijah, having been cruel enough to steal not just one but two of their number during their gathering, was intent on finding out what it was. "I... The Dance you were all talking about. What was it?" We believe in the Sea Above. You humans call it... the sky? Yes. When one of our number dies, they journey to the great Sea Above, to join the infinite glittering numbers of our fallen kind you see at night. When we gather every solar sweep, we Dance. This dance ensures the survival of the Sea Above; without it, there is nowhere for our kind to go. "So I was essentially interrupting the greatest burial worship that you had," Elijah said, raising a hand to run through his head. Boy, he felt uncomfortably guilty for doing it. How had he allowed himself to do that? He had always espoused that Pokémon were as important as humans. Had he started to lose sight of his goal? His head bowed, he felt nothing but shame for his actions. Now you understand. He opened his mouth to speak further, until a shrill beeping came from his bag. His Pokédex had not been making the noise, but his Pokétech. Terashi was already on the job, unzipping the bag for Elijah and tossing the device to the human, who caught it dextrously with one hand and flipped it open. He had a new message from one of the guys at the Fighting Dojo, Mitchell, who was in charge of running the show while he was absent. Master, a woman dropped in earlier and returned a Poké Ball to us. She said it was for you and to give you her best regards, but she didn't leave a name - she said you'd know. I've transferred it back to the PC for you. Everything is progressing well otherwise. Renovations are underway. We hope to see you return soon! - Mitchell Elijah's curiosity suddenly started to get the better of him, and he collected his bag to go to the PC, beckoning for the three creatures to follow him. He'd need to use the transfer system anyway to send off that second Staryu. Perfect timing, really. Taking his seat, he logged into the Pokémon Transfer System and checked the status of his Boxes. What he saw surprised him - the oldest friend of them all. Steely, Elijah suddenly thought, remembering who he had given that particular friend to. Thank you so much for taking care of him. I owe you. Without any hesitation, Elijah withdrew the creature and received one plain red Poké Ball for his troubles out of the dispenser, which he opened immediately to see the familiar form of an old friend; a Blaziken, a large chicken with great leg strength, staring right at him in the best approximation of a broad grin it could muster. "FURI!" Elijah shouted, and in a rather rare display of emotion, put his arms around Furioso and hugged him. It was slightly weird for Elijah to be doing so, but Furioso was his first ally. His first friend in a very long time. They were partners since the beginning of his Pokémon journey and now, after a short training hiatus with Steely, he was back. "Ken! Ken!" Furioso missed him too. Furioso, it's great to see you again, but Elijah, we really have some work to do, Terashi intoned. He liked the Blaziken! They were cool sparring partners and Furioso had been one of his teachers when he was still a little Riolu. They had a kinship of their own, and being reunited with friends was a powerful feeling. Elijah, somewhat reluctantly, untangled himself from the Blaziken and reached for the younger Staryu's Poké Ball, placing it into the PC and setting up a transfer to his friend. He'd have to get that done. While the data was processing, he turned to the Staryu. "I feel I owe you an explanation. I've been looking for a Water-type to join me, and... well, I saw one of your kind and it greatly interested me. I should have done better, and I could have been a better person, and I acted wrongly. I'm sending off one of your kind to a friend, which... well, I know that it'll be loved and cared for beyond anything in its wildest dreams. You... well, I'm only hoping you can find it in your heart to forgive me and join me on my journey." The Staryu spoke nothing, only mulling things over in its mind. Elijah reached into his bag and pulled out a small blue stone, placing it on the ground in front of the Staryu. He looked right at the jewel on the front of it. "I'm not sure how important evolution is to your kind, but here. This is a Water Stone I found a long time ago. If you'd like to use it, you can. I'd like to think of it as a sign of our friendship; use it only if you want. I don't force my friends to do things they don't want to do. In the meantime... you guys should get to know each other. I'm going to get some snacks for you all." Elijah stretched and rose from the PC's seat once the transfer had been completed, confirming that it was no longer in his hands and waiting only for the Staryu to be picked up. The four Pokémon began to congregate and converse with each other as he moved around them, going into the lobby to purchase some more Pokémon food considering the Snorlax he'd encountered had eaten it all. Fortunately, he could buy a large supply. When he returned, he saw one thing - the Water Stone had vanished, to be replaced with a Starmie, flanked either side by Terashi and Remilia, and behind by Furioso. They had accepted the Starmie into their circle of friends, and Elijah nodded. The crystal on its front flashed again. While you might have done something cruel... watching you here assures me you are not a bad human. I will come with you. Elijah nodded. He knew exactly the name that would fit the Starmie. "Welcome, Anima." whew long post. anyways, there's the post; looking for some generic happiness, particularly for Anima. Edited by Kirin, Oct 16 2010, 08:13 AM.

.4 (.3 for the post, and an additional .1 from me for explaining The Dance so well.)The staryu, now starmie, couldn't really hate the human for his action. They were a partially psychic species, even now, and it could sense Elijah's emotions and guilt as strongly as if they were its own. He was sincerely apologetic for what had happened, and while he wasn't letting either of the starfish go, he had provided a name, understanding, and evolution. The starfish only hoped that Elijah would send an explanation to this other human and that she would understand what he had disrupted so callously herself. But, at least this one was trying to make amends of a sort. It was a start anyhow. +2 on the starmieFuri was overjoyed to see his old partner once more, and Terashi happy to see his old friend, as well. They had a lot to catch up on, surely. +1 to each of them. And I think that should cover it. |
