(Well, so much for this morning...kids kinda kept me busy any my net kept crashing. Heh. But, here goes nothing. Crappy opening post, go! *coughs* I also apologize for the title. I suck at them.)

The entire helicopter ride was something of a blur, where it was hard to figure out who had been picked up first, even. Still, considering locations, Ben probably had been collected first, since Brightopolis was just a short hop away from their intended destination, and so would waste less fuel.

Not like it mattered to him, since he wasn't paying much mind to any of it until the information was actually given.

Sketchy information at that.

Faith hopped from her trainer's shoulders and stretched after the helicoptor ride. She was a bit less than pleased at all the sand and not much greenery about them, but settled by Ben's ankles after a moment, bright green ears flicking about as she basked in the sunlight, conducting photosynthesis.

Ben, for his part, remained silent for a few moments, at a bit of a loss. He really didn't know Liz all that well. Reverse held true, as well. Would make things interesting, that was for sure. He shifted slightly, running a hand through his hair a bit nervously. "I don't suppose you got any further information on this aside from that bit of briefing on the flight over?"

He didn't figure, but one could hope, right? He shifted again. "Well...I can say that I'm not exactly the best one for sneaking, though the pokemon I brought along generally have some useful talents along those lines." There were really only two that didn't, and one of them was merely a last resort and if at all possible Ben wasn't about to have him seeing the light of day in this city, and well...Faith was Faith. She at least was small, if it came down to needing such.

Hopefully having a klepto squirrel, a ninja eevee, a hacker ghost and a mindreading bird would be sufficient. Faith was most effective as a distraction, anyhow.

"Me..." he coughed slightly. "I'm not sure how well suited I'll be. Pretty good at making sure we don't get snuck up on, but....well. You're probably better off taking the lead in conversation. Being blind kinda doesn't inspire confidence or the like. You got any ideas on what to look for or ask about or whatever?"

Ah flying, the wind in your hair and the incredible view of seeing miles and miles around. Being high in the air was why Liz had joined the Air Force branch of the OME. Flying was possibly the greatest feeling. She longed for the day to fly with her Pokémon partners. Of course riding over the earth on the back of a powerful beast such as Rapidash was also just as exhilarating and then there was always surfing over the waters with the sharp scent of ocean air and the rocking of the sea. Yes, traveling via Pokémon in any capacity thrilled the young Private.

When they landed Liz waited patiently for her partner on this mission to disembark. She followed suit then turned to assist Tansy from the chopper. Briefly she wondered what on earth they would do once the Ivysaur evolved. There was no way she was getting a Venusaur onto a tiny helicopter. She felt movement in her pack and a yellow head popped out. Cecylia was awake. The Pikachu sniffed curiously at the air. Another city, this one even dirtier than Brightopolis. The rodent made a face before finding Liz's back and crawling onto her shoulder. Before doing anything else, Liz found a small rock and chucked it toward the street. The reason for this action was to create a sound wave, thus Cecylia could get an idea of their whereabouts. The electric mouse listened closely picturing what the place might look like in her mind. Her thoughts were interrupted by the voice of the male human they traveled with, Ben.

They'd met once before in the containment unit. He was a peculiar guy, joining a group like the OME with his disability. Yet there was something off about him too. Loki didn't care at all for him, claiming the boy could see him whilst invisible. What that meant Liz had no idea, but the ghost, while a prankster and general pita, had never really lied to her. Maybe this mission would help her learn more about the male.

"'Fraid not. All I know is what the pilot said. I assume we'll get another message or something?" She didn't sound too certain, what if this was some kind of test? Tansy wandered forward a bit poking around the area. Liz kept an eye on her as she ran over the list of Pokémon she'd brought with her. A blind Pikachu, an adventurous Ivysaur, a psychotic Misdreavus and a hyper active Houndour. Yea, the perfect team for sneaking around a crime ridden city. Liz did a mental facepalm. She sighed then looked back up Ben with a slight smirk.

"Your's can't be any worse than mine. Remember Loki? Yea... I think I might be insane for having brought him." She shook her head, light brown ponytail bouncing a bit with her movement. Liz raised a brow at the sightless male as he continued speaking. Cecylia flicked an ear toward him and frowned at his comment.

"What's he talking about? Can't the human see?" Unbeknownst to Cecylia, they shared the same disability. Tansy began to shake her head then stopped feeling a bit silly.

"Nope, blind as a Zubat that one. Just like you." Cecylia stuck her tongue out in the general direction of Tansy causing Liz to boggle at the pair. She chuckled and gave Cecylia a friendly scratch beneath the chin.

"Don't underestimate yourself Ben. Cecylia here's blind too and she's been a pretty dependable Pikachu." Cecylia looked quite pleased which in turn made Tansy pout. Their trainer snickered. "Well... I guess we can try to figure out where this Endless Keg place is." She mentally went over what the pilot had said. Fortunately she'd changed from her cameo's into a basic pair of jeans, tank and denim jacket. Still hidden beneath the jacket was her gun. Liz never went anywhere without it these days. While she had her Pokémon to protect her, the gun was sort of her backup.

After a moment of thought she glanced up at Ben. Boy he's tall. There was one advantage Ben had, most people wouldn't suspect a blind guy to be a member of the military. Yet he also sort of stuck out. Hopefully they just looked like a pair of trainers making their way through the city. Liz twisted her wrist to access the Poketch.

"Let's see if we can't get a map of this place. Maybe the Endless Keg will be listed on it?" A place that sounded like that might not be listed on any map. Still it was the only thing that came to mind. Unless they wanted to just start asking random people where they might find the bar. Guess they could always try asking at the PokéMart.

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"

After a little complaint on the OME's customary vagueness - that should be expected by this point - the two new partners enjoyed a short get to know you session of which it was concluded that you had no flippin' clue where to go. A map would be a wonderful thing. Now, there are several places one might obtain a map. One is a phone book often found in phone booths, another is the good old poketech of which you both should have. These nifty devices are connected to that wonderful invention called the internet and from the internet, you can find just about anything you wanted - including a Googled Map to the Endless Keg.

A few clicks and you were there, granted you chose the easy route. You were more than welcome to go hunting for an outdated phone booth of course. Either way, you soon figured out that you had entered the city on the good side. This should be relief as you didn't have to worry about being mugged or shot just yet. On the good side the crooks were usually the ones in suits, and they robbed you blind by means far more efficient than gun point.

So now you had a map, knew where you were, and knew exactly where you going. Now how to get there and get in? Liz had at least opted for plain clothes which would certainly help avoid undue attention. So all you needed was a good cover story, because let's face it, you were both 19 and looked the part. Oh, and you also needed a ride to the ghetto, otherwise you were walking.

[So, here's the deal. You need to get to the bar. You know where it is now. Will you walk or find some sort of ride? Something can happen on either avenue. An appropriate Pokemon (saddle required for this trip), OME jeep, or a taxi will work for the 'ride'. One of you will have to pay 50z for the cab if you opt to hail one.]

.3 ((And here we go. I shoulda waited anyhow, I'm sure. Gomen. Feel free to spank me or something. n.-;))

Ben's uniforms were 'lost' somewhere in the recesses of under his bed back at the OME base, and he has conveniently 'forgotten' that's where he 'accidentally' kicked it. Probably some of the stickier OME people would have something to say if they caught him actively trying to pretend the uniform didn't exist, but they weren't here now, and well. This was a covert mission. His lack of wearing said uniform on this mission would (hopefully) be expected, anyhow.

Ben cocked his head to one side at the mention of Cecylia's lack of sight as well. That explained the business with the rock, anyhow. Echoes were always useful, even to him. While he could find people and pokemon with Aura, walls were a totally different matter. And he wasn't generally keen on walking into them.

A Lucario he wasn't, after all, to be able to sense even the energy in rocks or something.

He coughed at the mention of Loki, then shrugged. "Maybe. Ghosts are like that. Great at being spies, though." The whole ability to be incorporeal and invisible was surely no part in that.

"I've generally found that being blind is most useful in that you get underestimated, don't worry," he continued to Liz, with a small smile. "Something good to keep in mind yourself, hey? Those of us that don't see make up for it in other ways that people don't realize," he added, to Cecylia in specific, cheerfully. "And I'm used to using that to my advantage. I mostly meant that while I've got some tricks that I don't advertise too much...being a stellar conversationalist wasn't one of them. And I'm not really much of a liar or the sort that does much negotiating." There was also the matter of having the attention-grabbing silver furball at his feet still. Even though he didn't bring the arcanine, he still had pokemon that stood out a bit.

"Didn't bring Jax with me, so this could be a little interesting." He dug into his pack, pulling a collapsible cane out and unfolding it expertly. He considered as she pulled her poketech out, and went digging into his pockets after a moment or two, producing his pokedex and poketech himself, as well. "I didn't figure we needed THAT big of a neon sign attracting attention. Faith is bad enough. She also doesn't know the first thing about being a seeing eye canine, and it would seem odd anyhow, so I'll make do with this, as far as that goes." He tapped the cane on the ground once or twice, getting a feel for the local terrain.

"Eevees are really rare enough that they aren't usually trained for such. They're also too small to make useful ones most of the time without evolution, which is a bit inconvenient. Sure some rich blind kid might get one specially purchased and sent in to be trained by their parents, but then it'd probably be one of the three stone evolutions, not a leafeon. And certainly not a shiny one." It occurred to him he was rambling a bit about things that really didn't mean much at the moment, and shut his mouth, turning his attention to the two devices he'd pulled out instead. He prodded at his pokedex with a sigh to distract himself from the vague embarrassment.

"Care to make yourself useful?" he asked it, unconcerned at the warning fizzle and spark from it as he prodded one of the buttons, and then held up the poketech in plain sight of the red device, waggling it a bit, as if trying to make it look enticing. "You'd be ten times faster than me at looking up this place and getting some info about it." An irritable bzzt sound from the pokedex was the only reply, and he sighed.

He could tell the ghostie about the fact that the poketech actually had online functions and that everyone knew that the internet was full of pron...but he actually wanted to have the ghost willing and available to do stuff later.

That, and he really didn't want to have his poketech start playing some sort of...video clip at the worst possible time, either. The joys of having a perverted ghost...

"Yeah...ghosts are like that," he sighed, prodding the pokedex, again, causing another fzzt. Probably best to let Liz do the searching anyhow. She'd be able to see the map, after all. And by the time he was finished, she surely had the map all googled and was studying it, so he waited for her to relay the information, considering it quietly for several moments.

"Now, we kinda need some sort of game plan...and probably some sort of story to use. Obvious bit would be that we're friends, pokemon trainers, deciding to travel together...but why are we here in specific?" he muttered, waving a hand in the general direction of the town. It occurred to him after a moment that it'd be kinda funny to be walking into a bar, too, seeing as he wasn't old enough to drink, and he didn't think Liz was. Unless this universe used German drinking laws. Or most other countries other than the U.S., for that matter. “For that matter...why we're going to the bar.”

It kind of made him wonder why they chose him and Liz for such in the first place.

Probably because neither of them really screamed 'military,' his own logic provided a moment later, and he sighed softly. “Well, I suppose there's lost and looking for directions. I can be pretty good for that, I guess.” People often assumed blind people would get lost as a matter of course. Irritating to him to a very large degree, but...in this case, it might not hurt to play on stereotypes. That probably meant walking there, though, unless she had some better thoughts. “We could also be trying to sneak in on a dare or something...” He wasn't too keen on that idea, though. “Only other thing I can think of is needing to use their phone for some reason or another. For being able to have one person trying to talk to the guy quietly, the lost option or the phone option are the better ones.”

He didn't really consider an option other than walking to get to the bar personally. All his potential pokemon rides weren't on his team (nor did they yet have saddles or the like) at the moment, and as usual, and probably as an instinctive precaution, he'd left his money and the like safely in the bank, so wouldn't end up being able to use on-hand cash to pay for such things, which was likely the only way this place operated.

Admittedly, that was one mistake of sorts, but there wasn't much he could do about it now. Sigh. He didn't really think in terms of bribing people or underhanded stuff like that. Hopefully Liz had some ideas to help out there or whatever.

Cecylia chuu'd as she was address pleased with Ben's view. Liz listened as Ben began talking about his Pokémon, smirking a little to herself. He was right, the beautiful white Arcanine would definitely have had attracted a lot of attention. Her gray optics flicked to the unique Eeveelution at his feet. A Leafeon, and a shiny one at that. Why hadn't she noticed her earlier? The young woman knelt down to give the grass fox a friendly smile.

"Wow, she's as lovely as Jax. I'm sure Tansy'll be pleased to be working with another grass type. Tansy's my Ivysaur, and my first Pokémon." Tansy grinned fondly at Faith and extended a vine in greeting. She was fascinated by the silver tint of her fur. Liz watched her partner, bemused. "I've seen the Glaceon form, in one of the melee competitions, but this is the first Leafeon I've come across. I hope to own both one day."

She glanced at Ben with a raised brow at his little story. She absently reached into a side bag that was securely pressed against her hip. Within two eggs rested, both cool to the touch and unmoving. It would still be quite sometime before these hatched. "I just hope my Eevee hatches soon. Not sure what I'll train it up to be, but I have high hopes of one day raising all eight forms." Her Pokétch beeped indicating it had found something. Ah a map, perfect. The net was so handy these days. Curiously she watched Ben's interaction with his own device.

"Rotom?" She inquired inquisitively. The possessed device gave away all signs of the electric ghost. Her own was oddly calm and quiet for a ghost. It was a nice change from the psychotic Loki. A snicker escaped her as turned her focus back to her machine.

"Anyway. It looks like the pub's on the other side of town, the 'bad' side as they claim." She frowned down at her Pokétch. This was going to be interesting. Her ear twitched as Ben began speaking once more. Liz played with her brunette ponytail listening as he spoke.

"Why do trainers go anywhere Ben? To explore, find new Pokémon, fight gym leaders, battle other trainers, go shopping, you know the usual. There is the Common Gym here and the Magnet train to Ashdell. Lots of reasons for a trainer to come through here." The boy might be over thinking this a tad. But as they say, always good to be prepared. She raised a brow at his ideas for infiltration. "A dare? Why would we have to be on a dare to go into a bar?" His ideas were sound enough but he seemed to be looking for an excuse to get into this place. Sure they'd need a cover story, but getting into a bar should be relatively simple. Unless Ben had never been in a bar before? "Ever been to a bar Ben? It's really not that hard, just walk in, grab a stool and order a drink. Unless this place has a different set of rules then all the other Opaddeka pubs. Drinking age is usually only eighteen."

She drew up the Magnet train schedule and perused it a bit. "We could just go in for a drink while we're waiting on the Magnet train. Or pretend to be celebrating a victory at the Common Gym? Or the Ashdell gym? They don't know where we've been. Maybe we're on a date? My ex used to take me to bars... but again he's my ex now." Liz made a face. While Richard had been the one to break things off, he'd really never been very good at the whole dating thing anyway. She flicked back to the map and chewed her lip.

"Well, it's a good distance to this place. I've left all my cash in the bank, unless the cabs take an electronic transfer, we're probably walking. No matter. It's only a few miles, just a good stretch of the legs." Walking was nothing new, she'd been walking everywhere since she'd left home. Besides Coal was too small to ride right now and his black coat was like Jax, a big neon sign. And Chisulo didn't have a saddle, yet. So she plotted their course and began to set the pace glancing back to see if Ben would keep up.

Dressed for the street and opting for a stroll, the two of you hoofed it across town on foot. Debit cards are a good thing and given that your are technically IN a town, they'd work if you wanted them to. And given that the legal drinking age I'm used to is 21, that's what this storyline is running with and why your ages are questionable. If that's not a good enough reason, you may assume the bar I'm running you through, sports a rough a crowd and screens its guests.

You made it across town and knew the moment you had officially entered the 'ghetto'. The salt scent of the ocean blew through the cracked and paper strewn streets. Prostitutes lingered on street corners, their pimps watching from nearby. Clusters of young men (and a few women) gathered in alley ways, lounging and cutting up. The brick facade of buildings were a rainbow of colors, designs and vulgar references.

The bar was located on the ocean front between a row of vacant buildings and the rancid smell of the fishing docks only a half mile down was carried to you on the wind. Bikes of various makes, but mostly Harley, were parked in rows in front of the old building. It wasn't much to look at. It's windows had been boarded up and door was solid. You didn't see in and no one saw out - that you knew of. It looked to have once been a club, its brick walls now crumbling and its flat roof a silhouette against the sun. A single awning, striped blue and green and well faded, sheltered a guarded entrance. A small sign, painted and peeling informed you that this indeed, was The Endless Keg.

Three men lingered outside; young men about your age and clearly street savvy. They noted you as you approached the door. One even elbowed his friend and nodded your way. A silent message seemed to pass between them. Smug smiles from two and a malicious grin from the one. Neither approached you though, but their attention gave you the impression you'd been marked.

The door, as you would discover if you chose the front entrance, was locked. You would have to knock. And upon knocking, a large bald white guy with an '8 Ball' aptly tattooed on the back of his crown would answer the door. He'd want to see some 'ID'. He also appeared bribable. In fact. Maybe you guys should hit an ATM real soon. Everyone in this mission is bribable, it's the only way you're going to get anywhere. Thugs don't deal in credit. You are more than welcome to say you found an ATM on the way to bar.

[You've found the bar, seen some creepy guys outside, HOPEFULLY hit the ATM, and now need to get into the bar. Let's see what kind of a story you can spin for Cueball.]

.3 (Yay for 'Revenge of the Sinuses,' now playing in a nose near you. >.> Well, that, and some thinking and discussing how to handle the situation before making a post. But I finally think I got an idea...)

Bank Records

"Rotom, yeah...and...actually...no, I didn't." He raked a hand through his hair in vague, not-quite-embarrassment as he responded to Liz's questions. He had overprotective parents. Nights on the town were not on a proscribed list of acceptable means of entertaining oneself, and definitely not safe for a blind kid, even if he studied martial arts. In a parent's eyes, that is, at least. “Eevees are good pokemon, really, and so are all their evolutions. I've considered raising all of them myself eventually.” A small grin. “I like dogs.”

He shook his head, and shrugged, moving onto the important business at the moment. "Anyhow, maybe some towns are different, but insofar as I knew, it was a bit older..." Figuring it'd be best to check, he fiddled with his poketech, running a search on age limits and the like, and sighed softly. This town, at least in those sections, was a little more strict on the clientele. He frowned a little, considering the the situation, mind setting to work on possible plans to deal with that.

“Looks like Kbville is one of those places that's got it up there, anyhow...” Ben commented, turning his attention back to his companion. However, Liz had already set out. Ben coughed and scrambled to catch up and keep up. He did his best, though it was a challenge at the pace she set, as he occasionally missed bumps in the sidewalk or curbs, and once nearly clipped his shoulder on a corner as he misjudged the distance. He never had any trouble weaving through a crowd, though, interestingly.

As they traveled along, his mind finally hit upon an idea and pulled his pokedex from a pocket. "Hey, Geist. Got a prank for ya. Diddle the data. See if you can't pull my first name out of the equation, and bump the age to legal. Got it?" he murmured in an undertone to the animate plasma inhabiting his machine. There was an electronic titter from the thing, and it fzzted again, as the ghost dove into the device's data, and started moving 1's and 0's about. A porygon he was not, but...

It was worth a try anyhow. After all, a pokedex was a perfectly valid ID for a trainer...right?

After a bit more walking, Ben paused, reaching out to catch Liz's wrist, as the electronic whirr of someone working with an ATM nearby caught his ear over the hum of the city. He pointed in that direction. "I didn't bring any hard cash. You?"

It seemed like a good idea to him, anyhow. It would have been brighter of him to have had it occur before standing at the city limit sign, but then, he wasn't necessarily practiced in this sort of thing. After all, while a card would pay for stuff...it was a little to traceable for under the table stuff.

Whether or not Jance decided to do the same, he stepped into line, and after running his hands over the device and the buttons to familiarize himself, he quickly set to work, mind working out the math of interest in his head as he punched the buttons, pulling out what he hoped was an acceptable amount, and vaguely wondering if he'd get compensated if they managed to pull this off...

Once they got the cash, he moved toward an out of the way nook, catching Liz's arm with a slightly abashed grin. He leaned casually against the wall, keeping his voice low so it wouldn't carry, one arm over her shoulder, trying to act for all the world like he was having a wuiet word with a girlfriend or the like. He was also careful not to crowd Cecylia on her shoulder perch. "Okay, I've got Geist trying to get my 'Dex to say I'm legal, anyhow..." Two years wasn't a huge stretch, and some people look young for their age, after all...

"I think for now, we play the couple, if you don't mind?" His ears turned slightly redder at the comment, feeling uncomfortable with the idea, but pushing the discomfort away as forcefully as possible. She had already suggested it herself, after all.

“I figure, if Geist can pull that off, I can just be...sneaking my 'girlfriend' in, you know?” He coughed, rubbing at the back of his neck for a moment, pausing a moment or two for her to digest and consider the idea. “Once we're in, however we manage it, I'd rather you start the conversation with the bartender. I'd rather focus more on potential listeners and trouble and stuff if I can...” His ability to sense Auras hopefully would be of use there, as well as his better than most normal people's hearing. "I'm sure he'd much rather talk to a pretty lady than me, anyhow," Ben grinned slightly as he added that sally, well aware in the very back of his mind that he honestly had no idea what defined pretty and if Liz fit this or not, in the conventional sense. He did his best to not let that show on his face, though.

He hoped the ghost could pull this off, all things considered. He did NOT want to chance his name being recognized and potentially causing other sorts of trouble. Benjamin Summers, after all, was a famous trainer, one who had helped save the world at least once or twice (in theory), and had gotten a spectacular draw in the finals of that major tournament a year or so back. And that famous trainer Benjamin Summers was well known to be 19, of course. And blind. He hoped that between some help from Liz, and Aura sensing giving him directions to look in, he could make that last indicator less obvious.

With all that in mind, he checked to make sure he had his sunglasses on and set firmly in place, as he poked the pokedex. "How's it going Geist?" He checked the device out, trying to see if it worked.

[Ben is asking his Rotom to diddle the ID of his pokedex to list him as Daniel Summers, 21, in an attempt to look legal, and hopefully keep his 180 fame bonus from causing trouble. He DID go to an ATM and pull 5K out.

I'm sorry for pausing before reaching cueball and stuff, but I know that Ben would make sure to know whether the ID fudging worked or not, so as to be ready. Let me know if I should do so or the like, and I'll edit, tho.]

ATM
—

The brunette slowed her pace as she took note of Ben's slight difficulty in navigating the sidewalk. When Ben grasped hold of her wrist, she jerked at first, startle by the boy's sudden grip. Cecylia clung to her trainer's hair in an effort to keep from tumbling to the ground. Confused Liz glanced at him then noticed the ATM.

"Oh. Hmm, suppose having a little something on hand would be wise." She waited until Ben was through noticing how adeptly he managed to handle the machine without the use of eyesight. She didn't have much at the moment, most of her funds going to various Pokémon acquisitions. A few hundred zenni however should suffice for the time being anyway.

Almost as soon as she stepped from the machine Ben had pulled her into an out of the way nook. The teen raised a brow at the arm draped over her shoulder wondering what the boy had going on in his head. Despite Ben's efforts to give Cecylia room, she didn't much care to share and nipped at the male's hand before climbing onto her trainer's head. She settled there mussing up Liz's hair and shooting annoyed glances in Ben's general direction. Tansy stared blankly at the male before turning to watch the passing public.

Liz listened as Ben's plan was unfolded. She didn't feel all that comfortable with his arm around her but smirked as the boy began to blush. She sighed looking bemused before nodding.

"I guess that's as good a plan as any." Liz cocked her head to one side as Ben suggested she chat up the bartender. Once more she raised a brow as she studied Ben's face. "Pretty. Right." She knew full well Ben couldn't tell if she was pretty or not, still it was rather flattering.

"We should probably keep moving while Geist tries to get that thing working. We don't want to get there too late. I'd hate to have to do this stuff in the dark." Gingerly she slipped out from under his arm then took his hand and entwined her fingers with his. With a gentle tug she waited for him to fall into step with her and continue on their way.

It didn't take as long as Liz thought to reach the bar and she paused a few feet away to check with Ben on how Geist was coming on that Pokédex. Her gray eyes took in the scene noting the group of rough looking characters not far from the door. Tansy eyed the males warily not liking the way they looked at her trainer. Cecylia also sensed their unfriendly gaze. The Pikachu gripped Liz's head a bit harder her cheeks sparking. Liz raised a hand to calm the rodent as she watched another patron be stopped at the door by cueball before being allowed entry. Well this should be interesting.

And finally, it was your turn.

Big, bald, and beautiful; somewhere there was someone who thought this guy was hot. He towered above you both like a brick wall and glowered. His eyes were as dark as his pupils and filled the narrow slits of his heavy lidded eyes like pools of ink. Beefy muscled arms crossed over bulging pec's - as if you needed much more of a blockade to prevent your entrance through the door. The black shifted between the two of you, and one brow just barely lifted with interest.

"ID" Cueball grunted without so much as opening his mouth.

Ben, or should I say Daniel Summers, handed him his haunted poketech, one hand still clutching Liz's.

The bouncers eye passed between the blind man and the image on the screen. Lucky for Ben this wasn't a place to ask too many questions. He handed the device back, placing back into his hand.Oh but wait...what about liz? Bald white guy was watching her expectantly now.

Behind you, the three guys had vanished...

[hoodooed Poketech works, yay Ben. Alright, get Liz through the door and we can get this show on the road.]

.3 (Sorry for sucky post. Lost my old one, and I have been a bit shorted on sleep for far too long. But I don't want to keep everyone waiting longer, and I'm gonna be gone after today, so I need to get something up. Luckily, will not be so strapped for time after this trip this weekend until the Fourth of July...)

Ben stood in a sort of agony of suspense, but the pokedex whirred reassuringly to his question, as Liz took his hand and led him off. She surely got some amusement from his slight embarrassment over the whole pretend relationship, though he managed to control the blushing relatively quick, at least.

"Hey, to me you are. Friendly, smart, outgoing, the sort that knows what they want to be doing and where they want to go...people take appearance too seriously, when a person's beautiful because of who they are." He grinned a little as he responded to her skepticism. "To me anyhow, you are pretty, and I don't see why other people wouldn't think the same."

Okay, maybe he's trying to get her to blush like she's made him some...but he does also seem completely honest there. He did say he wasn't a good liar earlier...

But there wasn't too much time before they were there, and a surge of interest immediately put him on guard, as they got into the line into the place, and he lowered his head a bit, uneasy about the whole business, free hand in his pocket, where he kept his pokemon and cash at the moment.

"Sure..." Ben replied to Cueball, removing his hand from his pocket long enough to hand the pokedex over without further comment, and trying not to look as if he was nervous about it. It apparently worked well enough, though, as the guy checked it, and he took it back, though in the process, he deposited the bill he'd had ready into the guy's hand. He could sense the attention shifting to Liz, already.

"Thought I'd show her around a bit. Have some fun." He offered his best grin, tilting his head to the side, though his attention wavered as he shoved the dex back into his pocket, checking reflexively to see what all was there, as Faith lurked at his ankles, ears flicking rapidly.

Oh, great. In the distraction of cueball and ID, he'd lost track of those interested parties in the swirls of aura all around them. He lowered his head slightly, keeping ears and other senses open for anyone trying to get too close to them, while also trying to keep half his attention on Cueball for his response, and waiting to see if Liz added to his bribe or the like, and for her to present her ID, since odds are, they'd have to show it, even if he pretended not to notice the age, if he cared to or what...

[Taking back haunted Pokedex, and slipping a 100z bribe to Cueball in the process, and then trying to figure out with hearing or aura sense where the intrigued trio snuck off to, while keeping a hand over his pokeballs and cash.]

((Again so sorry. Here goes, this might not be that great. :s ))

Wow it worked. And now all attention was on her, yay. Might as well make a good show of it. She giggled and pretended to smack some gum whilst snuggling up closer to Ben. With her free hand she handed over her Pokédex along with fifty zenni. She gave cueball a flirtatious wink hoping he'd just take the cash and let them in.

"He's always taking me to the most exciting places, arn't you Danny sweetie." Liz practically oozed sweetness as she fawned over Ben. Tansy stared up at her trainer dumbstruck. And Cecylia sniffed the air confused wondering what had happened to her trainer and why this strange person smelled just like her. Liz didn't loosen her clingy grip on Ben but shot the Ivysaur a reassuring look. And her free hand reached up to caress Cecylia.

"Sillies. Never been to a place like this before huh? It'll be totally cool won't it guys?" The two still looked dubious but seemed to trust she knew what she was doing. Tansy shifted her attention back to the alley. Something about the three from before hadn't smelled right and now they'd vanished. Liz glanced over her shoulder to the spot they'd occupied previously. She nibbled her lip also wary about their location. Well hopefully inside they wouldn't have to worry about them. If they got inside that is. Liz turned back to cueball lovesick grin still plastered on her features. She waited anxiously on his verdict, money or rules. Was this the kind of guy who'd take a hundred fifty zenni or stick to his principles? In a place like this, Liz was banking on his dishonesty. They all were.

Cue ball accepted the pokedex with a raised brow. He glanced down, noticed the cash and cast a cautious glance around the lot. No one watching. He cleared his throat and passed the device back, hanging onto the cash as he did so. He cleared his throat and waved the two of you in, all the while keeping a watchful eye for anyone who might have noticed his greedy little tresspass.

Once inside, you found the place to be a dark shabby little joint. Smoke hung in the air over pool tables and the clack of the balls rolling over the felt surface accented the raucous country music that blared from an old juke box. Everyone in the place seemed to be watching you suspiciously. In truth, only one person was watching and he looked about as large and burly as Cue ball. Probably another bouncer. He looked away just as quickly as you spoted an empty seat by the bar and made your way over.

Now you had the attention of your target, the bar tender and presumed owner of the establishment. He didn't look very friendly, not with his near anorexic features, scruffy face covered in yesterdays stubble, and greasy locks of salt and pepper hair. He ambled over, tossing a dirty rag to the side that he'd been using to polish the old wooden counter top.

"What can I do ya for?" He mumbled. His black eyes finding Liz and staying on her.

Ben choked down his momentary start at Liz's sudden syrup and clinging, having been momentarily distracted by trying to figure out where the troublesome trio had gone. He recovered quickly, though, managing to put an arm around Liz's shoulders, mindful of the pikachu, with a mostly carefree sounding chuckle. "Naturally."

He was going to get her back for the 'Danny' comment, though. Faith peered up at the pair of them as if they had each grown second heads, and skulked over nearer to Tansy, tail low. Ben made sure his sigh of relief was completely internal as cueball finally let them pass after an eternity of suspense that lasted perhaps thirty seconds. "C'mon, babe." He slipped in, pulling her along for the ride, like 'Danny sweetie' would, most likely. "You too, princess. It's gonna be fine."

He couldn't do more to reassure the skeptical leafeon, but like the other two pokemon, she trusted her trainer. For the moment. In his pocket, his pokedex was sniggering internally at the show, though.

Ben paused, nose wrinkling momentarily at the odor of stale smoke clinging to the air, before he righted the expression. Walking through a door like that made one feel like there was a neon spotlight on them, really, no matter what. He didn't THINK that there was any particular surge of interest...but it sure felt like it. Still, it wasn't too hard to navigate his 'date' to the bar, letting her take the seat, ostentatiously because she was the girl and stuff and he wanted to impress her, but more because he could tell that the barkeep was paying her more mind than him.

Score one for him. He grinned down at Liz, not about to say something about it, but he couldn't help the slightly triumphant expression. And then came the inevitable question. And he had no idea what was served here, couldn't see the menu...yeeeah. "You know what, babe, I'm feeling adventurous. Surprise me?"

With that, he turned to 'survey' the rest of the bar, nodding his head to the music as if enjoying it. Quite frankly, it was far, far too loud, and some of the singers were off key. But he wasn't about to say anything, simply tuning it out as much as was possible and keeping ears and aura sense on full alert for anyone who seemed TOO interested in the pair of them and/or the barkeep.

Or their three buddies from earlier. Faith was pretty much attached to his leg so close that one wouldn't be able to slide a sheet of paper between her fur and his pant leg as they waited for Liz to order and start the negotiations.

In they went, easy peasy. Liz could sense Ben's discomfort mostly from the slight stiffening of his body. Being in such close proximity was a bit unnerving for her as well. Yet they'd agreed to this mission, and it wasn't like Ben was a creep or anything. Still, the clingy ditzy act might be over the top. She couldn't tone it down now though, not with that other bouncer keeping at least one eye on them.

The interior of the bar was nothing like some of the more socially acceptable places she'd been too. The smoke in the air was thick and caused her to cough, one she exaggerated a bit adding on an overly girlish flair. While she probably would've tried not to, she wanted to appear as innocent and non-threatening as possible.

Tansy and Cecylia of course instantly despised this place. The Ivysaur placed a vine over her nose an obvious grimace on the grassling's face. She normally loved exploring new places but she also loved being outside in the fresh air. Cecylia's delicate nose was almost completely overpowered. The Pikachu retreated from her trainer's shoulder slipping beneath the light jacket Liz wore. This in turned caused the trainer to release her hold of Ben in order to keep the yellow mouse from tumbling to the ground.

"Cece ..." She shook her head and threw Ben a sappy apologetic look. "Aww Danny... I don't think Miss Cece likes the smokey air. Poor thing. Maybe you should hold her for me sweetie?" It was a bit difficult to move with an electric rodent under her clothes. Gingerly she removed Cecylia from the depths of her jacket and placed her in Ben's hands. She gave Ben a bright smile then turned her gaze to the bartender.

The sight of him caused her to fight back a slight gag. Trying to cover herself she coughed and gave him a flirty grin. She caught Ben's look and mentally rolled her eyes. A quick scan of the menu confirmed her suspicions that a place like this didn't do anything fancy, just hard liquor to get good and drunk as fast as possible.

"Ok Dannykins. Two glasses of whisky please." Liz trilled as she leaned forward purposely allowing him a good look down her top. Inside she wanted to kick something, feeling a bit degraded all over. She wasn't sure how exactly to approach the whole 'we need info' bit. In fact she wasn't even sure what they were after. Maybe all would be revealed with just a bit of mingling.

The 'show' was convincing enough that all in the bar who had previously been drawn to the odd pair, ended up rolling their eyes and looking away. Stupid trainers. Every so often a couple of idiots would walk in, well bred spoiled brats, and pretend that they were tough and roughing it. You two just looked out of place, like a couple of tourists. Cue ball would probably get a hard time later over later more city slickers in, but that's another story and one you need not worry about.

The scruffy bartender grunted, grabbed couple of short glasses and filled them half full with a warm golden liquid, no ice. He shoved these across the slick surface with such well practiced skill that they slid to a halt directly in front of you. His black eyes narrowed, leaving Liz and turning to Ben, expecting him to be a man and pay for his lady's drink, such as it was.

"That'll be ten," He grumbled. " Each." He wasn't much of a conversationalist, you quickly discovered. No one around you was about to talk about their insidious affairs and this left you hanging. How were you supposed to find out what sort of crime you were sent here to investigate, if you didn't already know something. This left you with only one real option, and that was to somehow get this disgusting guy to trust you when he so obviously didn't.

This was going to be a bit more of a challenge than he'd hoped it would be, but that didn't surprise him. He was more than relieved that the act had worked at least insofar as the crowd was concerned, making them dismiss them with a touch of annoyance, insofar as he could tell.

He took Cecylia as the electric mouse was passed over to him, running a finger through her soft, staticky fur. "Sure thing." He let her clamber up onto his shoulder, if she wanted to, speaking in a soft undertone.

Not a whisper, oh no, those carried. But simply speaking in a soft, soft voice. It's amazing how much quieter that is, actually. "You be my second set of ears, then, m'dear. I think we may need that." He knew she'd have even better hearing than him, considering how much better his was than most people, and then comparing to your average pokemon...and then to go to a blind pokemon...

Yeah. He wasn't going to sniff at those pointy black appendages.

He pulled a couple bills out, glad that ATMs were comfortingly uniform in their dispensing of stuff, keeping ot the same denomination for everything. Meant he knew exactly what he had without having to go to a lot of effort. He still couldn't figure out where those three went, but he doubted they'd have followed them in, and they hadn't gotten ahead in line, he didn't think...

Still, something about that had gotten his hackles up, so to speak. He leaned back against the bar beside Liz as he placed the bills onto the counter. "Heard a lot of good things about this place," he commented idly to the barkeep. He wasn't trying to sound threatening or the like, just friendly, for the moment. He wasn't sure how to get into more detail at the moment, but they needed this guy, somehow. "Hope it lives up to what we've been told."

Completely true so far, so he wasn't going to sound suspicious in his poor lying skills there. He also wasn't going to immediately go throwing too much money at this guy, just yet, so as not to make him immediately suspicious. He hoped that Liz used those lead in lines he'd just said to get some of her own in.

He slid his hand across the counter to where he was pretty sure his glass of whiskey had halted, doing his best to look natural about picking it up. He was a bit afraid that the bartender might notice his slight hesitation there. The rest of the bar had already dismissed him, so probably wasn't paying much attention, but...well. He was still blind, and when it came to inanimate objects, it was that much harder to hide. Still he picked the whiskey up, considering the glass a moment, then sighed completely inwardly. Perhaps the one good thing about it would be that it would cause all his tastebuds to suicide in self defense for anything else he might end up having to drink.

Presuming it was a shot glass, he did what one does with those, throwing the whole brew back in one swallow, but if it wasn't, he simply took a swallow. Either way, he did his absolute best not to taste it as it went down, or react to said taste. Yeah...

He set the glass back down after that drink for the moment, once more 'glancing' around, shifting his position a bit against the bar, and surrepitously nudging Faith with one toe as he did so. One hand, hopefully hidden from the rest of the bar at this point, slipped into his pocket, releasing one of his other pokemon, using the bar, his body, and Liz's to cover the flash of release. "Feon..." Faith leapt to the countertop, flashing silver in the dim light, to further attract attention away, sniffing at the ever present bowl of peanuts one always had in this sort of place. Yeah, if they weren't trying to look like spoiled rich kids, the shiny eeveelution sold the deal. And people probably assumed she was Liz's, too.

The newly released (and hopefully unnoticed) pokemon knew what it meant to be out at this point. Using all the skills inherited and taught by his ninja father, the eevee slipped away into the shadows, ears pricked, trying to catch any other interesting tidbits, all the while keeping as out of sight and hidden as he could manage.

(( Operating on an assumption that like in the real world, ATMs here spit out twenties, and giving the barkeep two of these to pay for the drinks, and that's about it for the moment cashwise. Don't want to make him too suspicious immediately. Ben also tries to release his ninja eevee quietly under the bar to go and snoop around on his own. ))

FYI, already warned Eevee that I'm scrambled right now. Stressing out, can't think, house hunting sucks, loans suck worse. I want to kill my neighbors, need sleep. I'm going to go get drunk tonight. Real drunk. Erase time and space drunk.

Since Tenchi wrote this outline/plot for me, I've given him the ok to give you all your next mod, any actions he ends up doing have been ran by me first. Sorry Guys. I'll make it up to you somewhere.

Thank you Tenchi, for the bail out.

Cecylia flicked an ear toward Ben and bobbed her head in agreement. The little mouse took up a good vantage point on his shoulder but kept her head low, covering her nose with a bit of his shirt. Still her keen ears picked up the slightest pin drop in the place. So far nothing seemed too out of the ordinary, you know expect for her deranged trainer.

Liz picked up her glass daintily and sniffed at the caramel colored liquid. She'd tried a variety of liquors, but nothing too strong. Keeping to the act of 'I'm a ditz who's never been to a bar before,' she gingerly put the glass to her lips and took a sip. The stuff was vile, and appropriately she coughed a little and made a face.

"Wow that stuff is strong." Now there was one slight problem with this plan, they didn't want to end up actually drunk yet drinking was the best social lubricant in a place like this. Liz glanced sideways at Ben. She noticed his hand going for his pocket just as Faith leapt up on the counter causing her to slosh her drink all down her front.

"Ah great, thanks, Fefe." The Leafeon probably wouldn't appreciate the pet name now bestowed upon her, but Liz felt it best not to reveal even their Pokémon's names. The mishap did provide a good excuse not to finish her drink. However the damp tank was rather uncomfortable. The young woman sighed and turned to the bartender. "Ugh, do you have a towel or anything back there I could borrow?" She innocently chewed on a fingernail as she held the bartender's gaze.

Trying to act like two lost kids in the middle of a ghetto bar. You two were insane. Were you trying to get killed or something? I mean, seriously. All of those guys in the bar could tell that you didn't belong there. The simple fact that Liz was acting like a ditz didn't really help a lot either. By this point some of the guys in the back of the bar were probably plotting Ben's death and the rape of his little "girlfriend". Luckily for you two, you had a party of Pokemon to back you up should the going get rough. At this point, that was the only thing keeping them from indulging in their barbaric desires.

Let's start with the little ninja info collecting. Now, using the Leafeon to create a small scene was a good strategy. The combination of Liz's "ditziness" and the oddly colored Eeveelution allowed for the ninja Eevee to come out undetected. Using the inherited stealth abilities, the small dog vanished into the shadows where it did what it did best... be a ghost. First he hid under a table. Then he hid behind the leg of a chair. Then he hid in the shadow of a beer can and avoided detection somehow. (For the record, I rolled D20's for that and the last one came out a 20.) For all the ninja stealth tricks that were just displayed, the Eevee had little to show for it. I would however like to point out that the Eevee over head some thugs talking about how the Ecstatic Electabuzz were going to beat the Mighty Magikarp in the next game 7 to 2. Might wanna place some money on that. You never know.

Now, while the stealth investigation went on, there was a very interesting conversation taking place up at the bar between Ben and the bar tender. As the anorexic man went about cleaning the counter top and readied a scream that would make both Ben and Liz withdraw their Pokemon, he noticed the two twenty dollar bills and the comment made by the blind man. The bartender finished cleaning up the spilled drink and gave Ben a quick once over before slipping both bills into his pocket.

"Well youngster..." The man replied as he leaned in a bit closer to Ben. The stench of beer, cigarette and rotting flesh permeated from the bartender's mouth as he got closer to blind man. "... I would hate to disappoint you. So... what kind of good things have you heard about this place?"

Looks like the man felt a little relieved to know that Ben and Liz were there for a reason. Most of the time it was some random old guys getting in over their heads. It was rare to see two kids thinking they could play private eye or something. He most likely thought that they were trying to impress someone, so he let them. After all, there was a chance to make a couple of extra bucks if he played his cards just right.

Ninja Eevee is Ninja.

He filed away the one potentially interesting tidbit amidst all the occasional muttering about the ditz at the counter and the things they wanted to do. It would seem that they were getting their wish of being relatively underestimated and dismissed granted. But it was a good thing indeed that Ben wasn't as spoiled rich kid as they apparently took him for.

And had a Lucario in his pocket.

But anyhow. The eevee continued to be invisible, just keeping an eye out for anything that might do more than talk. And we'll leave that at that.

Ben shifted again, moving to let the bartender mop up the stuff, as Faith shot a look over at Liz, staring at her a moment, then hopping back off the counter in a slight huff. Fefe indeed. She sulked over to sit beside Tansy, ears flat against her skull. Sulk she would now. But that was probably appropriate for a spoiled shiny silver leafeon who just got scolded.

The fluffball didn't return, leaving Ben to assume he was either held up listening to something particularly juicy, or not finding anything at all. There was no hue and cry over something anywhere, though, so that had to be a good sign. The interest that he got from the bills was even more welcome, even as Liz got mostly ignored. Apparently the ditz act was working a little too well. Great. So now he had to come up with something, and not sound stupid.

And do it pretty quick. He ran his free hand over Cecylia's back, hoping that the pikachu was keeping her ears open, since his attention was getting more and more divided at this point. It was getting kind of hard to concentrate while not coughing or anything at the rank odor of the man, and instead offering a slightly shaky grin for a moment. “Heard you could get anything here,” he replied carefully after a moment, keeping his voice low. How to get the rest...he hesitated a few moments.

'Oh, screw this.' He gave up on trying to beat around the bush or something, and just dove right in. Screw all the double talk. He hated lying. “...and heard that the guy in charge knew a lot of things,” he finished quietly, while still not trying to breathe in and gag on the guy's...aroma.

That said, he let the guy make of it what he would, hoped that Liz might be able to add something, flattery maybe, who knew, and pulled out another twenty and laid it on the counter. “Sorry babe, let me get you another one,” he added, in a normal tone of voice. He didn't care if they weren't going to drink it, but...well. For one, it'd get him a bit of breathing space for at least a moment from the rank odor that wafted off the guy, but mostly, it would keep up the appearances.

Not having the appearance of drinking here was going to get suspicious, anyhow. He picked his glass back up for the moment, cocking his head to the side as he waited.

(( Paying for a new glass for Liz with another twenty. No particular bribing on my end just yet. Feeling things out, I guess. ))

Liz felt the hairs on the back of her neck rise up from the eyes on her. She brushed off a shiver and grabbed a bar towel to dab at her damp tank. One brow raised as she glanced at Ben. Well she couldn't blame him, subtly was never her strong suit either.

As she finished drying off, she felt the weight of her handgun press her side. It soothed her nerves a bit, at least she wasn't unarmed. Plus she had her Pokémon. Tansy and Cecylia had been keeping an ever watchful eye. The brunette took a swig of her new glass, gray gaze hovering on that of the bartender.

"Yes. We've been hearing about some pretty wild stuff going on around here. Something we'd be interested in getting in on. And you do look like such an intelligent man, we were sure what everybody was saying about you was true." Pour on the flattery, Liz gave him a flirtatious smile over her glass. She slipped out a twenty of her own and dropped it on the table.

"And I'd also like a shot of scotch, please. Any change is yours." Flattery and more money. Hopefully this would help win their host over and gain the knowledge they sought.

The bartender leaned in close to Ben in confidence taking his money once more with out question and trying to look casual. He grunted by way of response until Liz started speaking. His eyes flew wide with legitimate fear and with a sharp intake of breath grabbed her wrist very briefly and squeezed before letting her go. It was a silent message to be quiet. The walls had ears.

Out loud and in as casual a voice as he could muster, he made a show of shrugging you off and went to retrieve Liz's scotch. When he returned, he very quietly hissed under his breath while passing the drink.

"I don't know what 'everybody' has told you, but it IS NOT true. Got it?" He locked eyes with the girl, trying to get the point across that he didn't want his position ratted out to the wrong people. It could be dangerous for him. "I don't want trouble creeping up my ass from a couple of snot nosed kids out for some kicks." He pretended to look like he was more interested in wiping down the bar than you but kept mumbling under his breath. "And as for what I know, it depends on who's doing the asking." His watery eyes glanced briefly to the pocket from which Ben had drawn his money. "People trust me, you know. But me? I don't trust just nobody, if you get my drift." He moved off to serve another customer, giving you air and space to think. The man wanted paid for his information, and what information he gave you depended on how much you gave him. Tit for Tat.

Well, that was...somewhere between expected and unexpected. Ben snorted softly in response to that, finding his own glass again a bit cautiously. Beyond that, though, he was thinking as hard as he could. He, of course, had totally missed the momentary shifting of the gaze to his pocket, but he had already figured out that money was at least part of the answer to this pretty puzzle. The trouble wasn't so much the giving of the money (though he certainly hoped that if it got too excessive, the OME'd compensate), but how to do so without attracting every single person in the place's attention even more than they may already have done so.

He'd never practiced magician tricks or sleight of hand, and he had...lots of twenties. Enough to look like a rich brat, he supposed. Or a snot nosed kid. Which kinda rankled a little. But still. "You know...this is working well, isn't it?" he muttered in an undertone to Liz. The girlfriend thing and the ditz act were causing a bit of trouble, but that wasn't her fault. And it was impossible to drop that now. "Beating around the bush isn't going to help, and sticking around like this doesn't seem to be helping. I think. You got any ideas, I'd love to hear them."

He shifted the whiskey in his hand, and considered, working at separating some of the cash in his pocket with the hand he's been keeping in there for the most part from the rest of it. Without pulling it out of said pocket. No reason to give people much chance to get grabby at it. And at this point, he was sick of the coverty action, himself, but didn't want to be obvious by dropping it or something. So, now...blah.

Unless Liz came up with something better, he waved the barkeep back after a minute or two, slipping the separated bills into the glass quickly and sliding it back to him, trying not to be too obvious about it."Suppose if this place has nothing to offer, best not to waste your time, right?" he asked, idly.

(( Ignore that last paragraph if Liz has something she wants to try first, instead. If that paragraph happens, assume that Ben shoved somewhere around 400 bucks into that glass he just sent back to the barman. ))

Liz stared wide eyed at the man and Cecylia's fur sparked as she heard her trainer's heart rate increase. Tansy too tensed and craned her head to try and see what all was going on up there. The two Pokémon didn't much care for someone manhandling their human. As soon as she was released she waved Tansy down and reached up over Ben's head to caress one of Cecylia's ears. The little Pikachu clambored onto to her arm and returned to her perch on Liz's shoulder still looking stressed. One ear ever following the barkeep's movements.

Ben's soft whisper reached the teen and she sighed in slight frustration. Liz picked up her scotch and threw it back barely wincing at the taste. The burning liquid helped her nerves but she too really wasn't sure how to proceed from here.

"Yea I know." She chewed her lip and tapped the counter with her nails as she tried to think of a new strategy. Money seemed to be the key here, the bartender feared loosing the trust of some dangerous people yet he'd been eying Ben's pocket. Liz noted Ben's four hundred zenni carefully placed within the glass. Before he passed it back to the bartender she added her own couple hundred zenni, adding it up to an even six hundred. She didn't have too much left but hopefully enough to get something out of this guy.

"He's right. We're sorry to have been a bother. I'm sure we can find what we're looking for elsewhere." Liz added to Ben's own statement then pretended to whisper to Ben just loud enough for the bartender to overhear, "Probably doesn't know anything anyway."

The bartender took the glass with a sly grin upon his return, and, checking to see that no one was looking or ease dropping he reached into his pocket and produced a post card. The little picture on the front was of the warehouses along the ocean front, right next to the piers. The back of the post card had only a '7' scrawled there. He slid this across the counter to Liz and nodded.

"That's right, I don't know anything, but I know a feller who does. You need Bobby Gnucci. You'll know him as the biggest fat cat along the piers. He's in the business of...shipping pokemon." Here he stopped and grinned knowingly. "But of course you know that much already or you wouldn't be around here snooping." He pulled back the post card, not letting you keep it, and pocketed it quickly. "And should you get cought up to no good, you don't know me. I'll be watching just in case."

He turned his back on you and ignored any further questions. The extent of the information he was willing to divulge having been bought in full. Now you knew where to go next and who to keep an eye out for. However, to finish dredging up the information you'd been assigned to learn, you would have to find out exactly what sort of operation this Bobby Gnucci had going down, and exactly where it was happening. The postcard had merely been a cryptic message to something more.

Ben cocked his head slightly, carefully not smiling, as his still-in-this-mission unnamed Eevee snuck his way back towards them via a few convenient beer cans and table legs. "Know who?" he muttered, just loud enough for Liz and the barkeep to hear before the tender moved on.

Well, they had a lot more information now. Pokemon shipping. He could think of a few things there. He hoped it wasn't poachers again. It could always be a stolen pokemon trade, as well, which was probably worse in its own way. And of course, it could be really be a legitimate shipping service...

Hahaha.

Jokes aside, he wondered what the paper had on it that the bartender had shown off for a moment or two, but that would have to wait until he could ask Liz after they got well away from here. Which was going to mean going back outside. And for some reason, he had a funny feeling they might run into that suspicious trio somehow from earlier.

Was his life getting cliche? Or was he just thinking too much? Either way, they'd best not get too complacent, nor should they really drop the disguise or something. reaching up to soothe the Pikachu's ears in a momentary apology, and hopefully warning, he then moved over to drop a hand around Liz's waist and pull her off the stool and back to her feet.

Or at least look like that was what was going on. If she didn't want to get off, he wasn't going to actually force the issue, but it seemed like the stupid thing a nitwit like who he was playing would do. Man, he felt like his brain cells were suiciding in self-defense the longer he kept trying this. "So much for rumors, babe, huh?" he asked as he did so. "This place ain't got what we're looking for."

And he wanted out of there ASAP...then they'd have to discuss the next step in this. But at least now they had more substantial information finally. For all that, he did his best keeping his senses alert for any untoward interest as they (presumably) left the bar, pokemon on their heels. He held the door open a few seconds longer than might have been strictly necessary, to let the little brown shadow slip out on Liz's heels as he held it open for her, as well.

(( Yay information, trying to get out of the bar and away, though not towards the docks, to find somewhere to find out what the heck was on the postcard from Liz and try and plan next move. Trying to keep alert for ambush while at it. ))

Liz fought back the urge to breath a sigh of relief. The six hundred zenni had been enough to loosen the barkeep's tongue. She quickly memorized the image displayed on the card. Ocean front warehouses always seemed to be a favorite hangout for unscrupulous types. Bobby Gnucci, eh? Well at least now they knew what they were after and why. At least Liz hoped this was what their superiors wanted them chasing down. Liz force a bright smile and wink at the barkeep and put a finger to her lips.

And then Ben's arm circled her waist prompting her removal from the stool. Liz obliged feigning a look of severe disappointment. "Oh Dannykins, that's the third time this week! I thought we were going to have fun." She pouted but was quite relieved to be getting out of there. Tansy was at their heels crimson eyes narrowed at anyone who glanced their way. Cecylia too was quite eager to get out of there.

The door opened and closed. Fresh air washed over Liz and she breathed a bit easier. Both her companions expressed great relief to be able to breath once more. However they weren't quite out of danger yet. Liz cast a wary eye over the scene. Cecylia flicked both ears every which way picking up on any new sounds on the street. Tansy though moved in front of the slow paced humans eager for a bit of sunshine and grass beneath her feet.

"Tans hold up." Liz chided as she looked back to Ben then back to the street. "Should find a more private place to talk." She suggested not trusting the security of their position.

Not wasting any time, you accepted the information for what it was and slipped out of the bar, making a successful attempt not to draw any more attention to yourselves than needed. Once outside in the fresh air, Ben began to hurry you away, only for Liz to stop him short and very wisely suggest you go somewhere more private to talk. In this part of town, such a thing was everywhere and nowhere. A single lane access street heading towards the wharfs, vacant of anything living was the most quickly accessible though, and for the sake of moving along with this story, we'll assume you at least walked in that direction to check it out.

Footsteps sounded hollowly off the cracked sidewalk. The hot humid air was made more stifling by the lack of breeze between buildings. You were vigilant though, expecting this, and sure enough as you tossed a cautious glance behind you, the footsteps were recognized as belonging to the three young men seen loafing outside of the bar.

One was heavyset with light brown hair, clean shaven, and squinting eyes. The other two were taller than average, lanky and bearded. One sported a shaved head, dark glasses and gold ear ring while the other preferred the greasy unbathed look. All wore dark, ragged clothes and varying degrees of sinister smiles.

"Don't rush off so quickly." Said Shades, just loud enough to be sure you knew he meant you. "I think we have some business."

The hulkish one brought out a club from behind his back, his smile turning into a gleaming silver capped grin as he patted it against his palm suggestively. Greaser flipped out a shiny switchblade and smartly cleaned his grimy nails. These were just common thieves, reckoning you were just in the wrong part of town.

Ben followed Liz's lead in this, wanting to get out of the area, though he had his suspicions they were being followed. But he had no idea where they were going, so he let Liz take the lead in leading them off toward the docks and down a narrow street towards the wharfs, he assumed.

Footsteps behind them. His head lowered slightly as he turned his attention to his other senses, tasting the auras filling up the stifling alleyway. Less room to maneuver in here...but yes, those Auras had the same feel of the three that had caught his attention outside the bar earlier, and greed laced their greasy auras. Ugh. He felt vaguely like he wanted a shower after that. And to gargle with mouthwash.

He didn't even turn around, however, as they called out. "Business? Funny, I would think I'd recognize you if that were the case," he replied mildly, head still lowered slightly. They were out before he could stop them, and he winced inwardly at the fact that his vague frustration was getting the better of him. Let's provoke them, why don't we? Faith bristled beside his ankles, eyes fixing on the guy with the knife as the most dangerous.

Ben remained with his back to them, though he shifted slightly to be a bit further from Liz, reflexively, braced for if they did try to charge him. If so, he didn't intend to be an easy mark. "I think you must have mistaken us for someone else."

"Lea..." Faith began to growl softly, head lowering down as her tail lashed the air slowly, making an odd piping sound. Her fangs bared as she crouched low, watching them and waiting. If they actually tried something...

Well, they'd find that he and his companions weren't as unprepared as they might expect. Anyone trying to grab Ben after charging him would, hopefully, find their arm grabbed and their charge redirected right into an alley wall, or thrown over his back with a shoulder throw. He didn't study Judo for years for nothing.

If Hulk tried to club him...well, yeah. That...he'd just try to dodge completely. Ow.

And Faith, well, she intended to do her damndest to incapacitate them in a more direct fashion, turning that occasional piping warning from her tail into a full out melodic lullaby. Her focus was entirely on the knife guy, as her primary target.

Hopefully, though..they'd just reconsider and leave them all alone, but that was too much to expect, wasn't it?

The ally way seemed to provide the fastest route to their destination yet Liz didn't like the look of the vacant area. Cecylia wasn't too keen on it either. Her fur was bristled as she detected faint footsteps approaching their position. Sparks again flew from her small cheeks charging the air about Liz and Ben. Tansy narrowed her eyes trying to get a bead on whatever was coming their way. Casually Liz glanced back and let out a slight sigh of irritation. She smirked a little at Ben's comment, her right hand slipping within the depths of her jacket while her left went for her Pokéballs.

"We really don't have time for your sort of business. So f you don't want to get that shiny head of yours cracked open, I suggest you fellas be moving along." Liz hadn't withdrawn her gun just yet. She didn't want to expose themselves least any potential contact was watching. The Pokéball she'd reached for rested snugly in her palm awaiting release, someone she'd brought along just in case they needed a little bit of pure brawn and intimidation. Though again she didn't want to reveal her hand just yet. She'd let Tansy and Cecylia take point and bring out her intimidator if he was needed.

Cecylia slipped from her shoulder to the ground not wanting to electrocute her trainer. Her sharp ears picked up on the metallic scrape of the knife against fingernail. She focused on the position of that sound, cheeks sparking, ready to deliver a nasty shock to Mr. Knife guy on Liz's command. Tansy drew up alongside her electric partner vines at the ready. Her crimson gaze sized up the Hulk and his mighty club. If he decided to try using it, she intended on removing the weapon from ugly's grasp. A heavy dose of Sleeppowder waited in reserve so as to assist Faith in knocking somebody out, Shades most likely.

Liz held off on the offensive though eyes on Shades. Before her time in the military she'd studied your basic self defense techniques, yet she'd made sure to pay attention in her hand to hand combat training. She wasn't keen on getting up close and personal with any of these guys, if her Pokémon counterparts could take them out good. If not, well she could handle herself.

"Awe, isn't that cute, guys? They brought their wittle pokemon with them to protect them from the big bad bullies." Shades chided in a mocking tone. "Well, boys, reckon we ought to show them we know how to play ball too?" He pulled a single pokeball from his jacket, releasing a Houndoom. The black devil dog growled and was joined quickly by a lithe wolfish form of a Mightyena from Greaser's direction. Appropriately, Hulk had a pokemon to suit. Behind them all, swelled into monstrous view, a Snorlax. With a laugh a little like Jabba the Hut, the giant lazy thing belched thunderously and the battle was on.

Given that Liz and Ben's pokemon were already out and primed to pounce, guess who struck first? Only their targets hit the respective pokemon, rather than their trainers - for the most part. Greaser's Mightyena snarled and twitched and upon recovering from the electrical jolt, lunged at the little mouse, grabbing her up in his teeth and shaking her hard before letting go. Behind him his Trainer started forward with the knife - and fell flat on his face, out cold from the Leafeon's fluting song.

Shade's Houndoom didn't have time to move before a snowy powder shot into his eyes, and he too rolled over and played dead. A vine shot passed him and struck his over sized partner. Hulk yelped and dropped his club while his pokemon leaned casually orward and plucked up Leafeon with a deep chuckle.

"Mmm....Preeeettttyyyyy." The Snorlax bellowed, again like Jabba, and he licked the shiny pokemon and cuddled her tight."

Shades and Hulk exchanged angry glances, as is pondering if this could really work out in their favor when they were suddenly two short and the biggest and the baddest among them was too stupid to be ferocious.

Insert expletives here.

Well, that could have gone better, and gone worse. Ben remained still for the moment, hand in his pocket for a moment or two. He could absolutely murder these guys if he wanted to, by simply letting Anubis out to play. The lucario, on top of type advantage...yeah.

But that would kind of maybe be a bit problematic. So even though he could almost sense the fighter's eagerness even in the ball, he held back for the moment still. Too much attention would be a bad thing. Faith squawked as she was scooped up and cuddled and...licked. Oh god. I'm almost expecting Faith to get a new nickname of George soon. "Leggo!" she flailed about, tail lashing repeatedly at the jumbo sized pokemon.

Ben pulled his pokedex out, touching a key as it beeped. "Snorlax. Can breed with..." The mute key silenced the rest of whatever Strom was going to say, as his trainer's ears turned slightly pink. Stupid ghost...

However, there was another thing in play that even the owner had forgotten about. Abruptly, Cal popped out of the shadow of a trash can, and spat a glob of toxic goo at the Snorlax holding Faith, bristling as he yelped advice. "Aim for the elbows! Or the kneecaps!" He wasn't about to take someone hurting the fellow eeveelution sitting down.

There may also have been other considerations like crushes going on...but we don't need to worry about that right now.

Ben paused in his consideration of sending Strom out to help out to consider this development. He knew he'd been forgetting someone in all this...

Damn ninjas. Even the person who has them forgets they're around until they pop up out of nowhere.

And suddenly there where Pokémon. Canines and an oversized ... what the heck is a Snoralx anyway? Well as it was apparent the three thugs weren't going after them themselves, Liz let her arm drop from the hidden holster and tucked away the Pokéball. She'd let Cecylia and Tansy handle things for now. Their attacks hit home, and both canines were in slumberland though Cecylia took a harsh hit.

"Oh dear. Cecylia, you alright?" Liz called to her sightless rodent. The electric mouse winced from the painful bite. She shook her head and focused her hearing trying to regain her bearings. Cecylia hadn't been in too many full on fights but she was learning quickly. The Pikachu picked up the sound of the Mightyena's snoring.

"Chuu pika!" She grunted as she readied another electric attack. Liz shook her head, Cecylia was typically a very gentle Pokémon but she didn't much care for having her fur coated with dog slobber. Tansy glared at the sleeping pup angered that it would go after her friend. Both Pokémon listened closely for Liz's attack plan.

"Okay. Looks like Ben's got that Snorlax covered. Let's get a little revenge eh? Cecylia, Thunder Wave for Houndoom and hit Mightyena with another Thunderbolt. Tans, let 'er rip." The Ivysaur knew exactly what her trainer had planned. She glanced toward the sky and a beam of warm light shot into the air and flooded the alley way with a bright shaft of light. Then her bulb began to glow and a powerful beam fired straight for the sleeping canine.

Cecylia glanced to Houndoom and sent forth electric waves intended to disable to the mutt even more. Once she was satisfied she turned her focus back to Mightyena. If that Solarbeam hadn't taken the Mightyena out, her Thunderbolt should do the trick. While her pair where initiating their attacks, Liz took a moment to scan the trio with her Pokédex.

Had these two idiots known what was about to happen to them, I doubt that they'd tried to mug you guys. I mean seriously. The criminal element in this city is loosing its luster by the looks of it. Well at least the simpleton goons are. Can't really tell about the big wigs yet though.

With two out of the three Pokemon out cold, the battle went rather down hill from here. First lets go with Ben and his cute pair. Faith was being huggled to death by an over weight teddy bear of sorts. Ben didn't like that. Neither did Cal for that matter, who abruptly came out of the shadows and used Toxic on its over sized opponent. The little Eevee managed to take the Snorlax by surprise, an easy feat if you consider that it was busy with its new plushy toy, and in the confusion ended up letting of Faith. It was in this moment that the Leafeon struck back with its Leaf Blade and dealt a massive blow to the beast. Still, it was far from being out of the fight.

"You idiot!!!" Yelled the hulking man to his monster. "Stop playing around and use Rest to heal!!"

The Snorlax quickly did what he was told and promptly went to sleep. Big mistake. Faith didn't waste her opportunity and went in for a second, Helping Handed, Leaf Blade that dealt a tremendous amount of damage to the beast. In less that a second, it went from sleeping to out cold. That pretty much took care of the Hulking man who promptly recalled his Pokemon and fled with his tail between his legs before further injuries were brought to him.

Now we turn to Liz and her duo. She fared just as well, if not slightly better. With two sleeping opponents, Cecylia let loose with a quick electric jolt to the Houndoom further crippling it. Meanwhile, Tansy used her powers to bring out the sun... IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!! Suffice it to say, some people may now wish to kill Liz for waking them up. A Solarbeam and Thunderbolt later, and the Mightyeana joined the Snorlax in lala land. That had to hurt.

With two Pokemon knocked out, another asleep, one trainer asleep and the other fleeing the scene of the crime, it was rather easy to see that Ben and Liz had won. Now all that was left was to make their get away before the trainer woke up along side his Pokemon. Of course, mugging the would be mugger would be both ironic and poetic justice, but that's just me.

I usually think of Snorlax as some sort of bear myself.

Ben continued to fiddle with his pokedex a bit more, as Faith skittered back and away from the pokemon, sitting down to groom her fur back into order with an affronted expression as the little eevee skittered over to check on her. "You okay?"

He drooped very, very slightly when she didn't even notice, too busy with her fur at the moment.

"Something funky about that Houndoom..." he muttered to himself, letting Liz decide what to do, unmuting his dex again. About all he took the time to do at this point was liberate the switchblade from the guy and pocket it. If Liz wanted to do more, that was her business.

"Data abnormality," Strom agreed to his earlier assessment, humming furiously through the circuits of the device. Darn trainer pokemon and being able to break evolutionary level lines. Probably, anyhow.

Ben sighed after a moment, though, and filed the oddity away to mull over later, or to keep in mind. It was always possible whatever they were looking into was some sort of steroid thing that made for early evolution after all. Unlikely, but you never knew. "Whenever you're ready, lead on, milady." He smiled a little, bowing in Liz's direction, waiting for her to move them along in this maze of a city.

(( Gonna let the sleepers sleep, or Liz finish them off or something. Liberating the switchblade, though, from Greaser before he wakes up. ))

As the saying goes, 'Let sleeping dogs lie,' and that was exactly what Liz intended on doing. She stepped over to gingerly pick up the injured Pikachu. Cecylia grunted in pain from the bite wounds. The young trainer reached for her pack and dug around with one hand before letting out a relieved sigh. She with drew the small potion, it wasn't much but it would help alleviate Cecylia's pain and keep her wounds from infection.

"Easy now hun." She murmured as gingerly she applied the spray to Cecylia's body. Sparks flew from her small cheeks at the slight sting but soon she began to feel much better. Liz smiled and scratched her behind the ears as she stood up. Tansy eyed the remaining canine with mistrust before returning to her trainer's side.

"Well done you two. Now, let's get out of here before we get anymore unwanted 'business transactions'." Liz flicked her gray eyes over at Ben and smirked. "As you wish." She cradled Cecylia in her arms as she turned in the general direction of the sea. As they walked she explained what she'd seen in the bar, of the post card and warehouse by the ocean. The sudden day light had begun to fade and soon darkness had once again fallen over the city. Liz slowed her pace as the air turned to salt and the sound of waves broke the evening stillness. Well now they just had to find the right warehouse. The card had a seven on the back of it, she wondered if that meant Warehouse 7. She slipped a hand to her belt and removed one Pokéball. The dweller was released with a brief flash of light and Loki let out a groggy yawn before peering around with mild interest.

'What are we skulking around in the dark for? Not that I don't like skulking and the dark. Not your usual activity though madam.' The Misdreavus's mocking tone joined Liz's thoughts causing the trainer to just raise a brow at the ghost. 'Oh and you got Mister I-Can't-See-But-I-Can with you. What you hanging hanging around him for? He your new boyfriend or something?' That though got Liz to glare at him and a wicked grin to spread over his features.

"Loki stop being an idiot. We're on a mission, and I need your help to get a better lay of the land in the dark. Can you do that or not?" The ghost had floated over in front of Ben practically ignoring his trainer. He seemed to be sizing the strange male up. Liz cleared her throat and the ghost vanished only to reappear at her side and give a yank on her ponytail.

'What? You have to admit that guy is creepy. And yea sure I can do whatever you want, mistress.' Liz rolled her eyes and pointed toward the looming buildings in the dark.

"We're looking for Warehouse 7. Would you please go figure out which one that is?" She requested in a painfully polite tone. Loki let go of her hair, gave a final glance toward Ben then vanished once more, presumably to go look over the Warehouses. Liz sighed hoping this wasn't a mistake.

I would've liked to have seen the mugger strung up by his boxers up a pole or something than just see him mugged. I really would've liked to have seen that. Criminals deserve no less after all. Well at least that's what the Punisher would say and we all know what good old Frank would do to this guy. Too bad he ain't around. Or... is he? Guess we'll never know for sure.

After our dear blind guy liberated the switchblade from the would be mugger, the duo made their way toward the waterfront where the ware houses were. It took them a few more minutes, but soon enough they arrived at their destination, fully aware that it was Warehouse 7 that they were after. With this in mind, Liz released her Misdreavous and convinced him to do a little scouting. Not a bad idea if I do say so myself.

It took him a few minutes, but the little ghost managed to return successful from his mission. He located Warehouse 7 and it wasn't that far away to boot. About two warehouses over to be exact. Now it was just a matter of getting over there. Walking was the preferred method for those who lacked the ghost's natural ability to float, and usually recommended for those of you who wished to remain hidden. Luckily a few well placed crates and barrels made it slightly easy to use the shadows to their advantage and remain hidden.

Once at the warehouse, and hopefully using the terrain to their advantage, Ben and Liz saw as a of black SUVs with tinted windows parked outside the front of the Warehouse. Along with the SUVs, were four mean(read thugs) that were apparently guarding the place. Their lack of trying to hide their automatic weapons hidden in their jackets were what gave them away.

It was during these initial observations that the team witnessed as a black car, probably italian in origin, approached the warehouse and stopped right in front of it. From the car, two more thugs stepped out accompanied by a third man. This third man was wearing a fine looking suit of some kind. Probably italian as well judging by the car. Unfortunately, at this distance it would be hard to tell what he looked like with the lack of proper lighting. After telling something to men who were outside, and getting them to straighten out, the man stepped inside the warehouse quickly followed by his two henchmen. Looks like you'll need to get inside the warehouse to see what's going on.

It was obvious that walking through the front door was out of the question, if the heavily armed thugs didn't get that point across. The side proved to have several boxes piled up next to the wall, allowing a person to reach a set of windows that they could probably get in. That would seem to be a more viable option. The back of the warehouse proved to be the least guarded as a single man took it upon himself to watch over the rear entrance.

No matter what route the team chose, they would have to make a decision quick. There was no telling if it was even Bobby Gnucci that you saw enter the warehouse, or if he was actually in the middle of some kind of deal or something. And as it was intel on their operations that the OME was after, there wasn't a moment to lose. Still, caution had to be taken as an element of stealth would be required for any of the potential entrances that the team could take.

Ben obtains a switchblade!!

Switchblade
A typical switchblade suitable for surprise attacks and stabbing. Can deal between 1-5 :hp of damage if welded against a pokemon. Damage is determined by accuracy and success of attack. Pokemon will gain 1 :anger for each successful strike regardless of amount of damage dealt. Player will earn -1 :fp unless weapon is used in self defense or in a mission. Self defense does not apply if attack is provoked. Cannot be used against other players.

Apologies for playing a nice guy that doesn't string people up and stuff. Oh well. Moving on. Ben pocketed the little knife as they headed off to the warehouses. He cocked his head to the side, listening quietly as she explained what they were looking for. Shame the being blind bit left him in the dark on the details. He frowned as Loki appeared, reflexively rocking back slightly as the ghost drifted over to stare at him. "No eating my hair this time, okay?" he muttered, resisting the urge to poke at the insubstantial creature's aura again. He had no idea what the ghost was saying to Liz, or even that he was talking, I don't think, until she responded to it.

He could just tell that he wasn't well liked by the spectre.

So, he kept out of it, cocking his head as the ghost flitted off. “Doesn't like me much, does he? Not really sure what I ever did to him, though,” he commented idly to Liz. Still, the spectre was quite quick in his search, though part of that could be the fact that it was only a few warehouses down from where they were. Ben let Liz take the lead, following in her footsteps cautiously, trusting in her judgment and sight to keep them relatively out of sight.

His small frown deepened at the gathering of auras at the front of the warehouse. Not a place to get caught. Three of them went inside, and he stifled a faint sigh. Fort Knox (or the Opadekkan equivalent) this wasn't, but that didn't mean that they were going to have an easy time of it. A quick assessment of the situation left them with, in his opinion, two options. Try the window, or jump the guy in the back. With two pokemon with sleep moves at their disposal, that was a distinct possibility, but he wasn't one to leave things up to chance if at all possible. “Hey, squirt,” he hissed softly in the alleyway by the window, releasing two more pokemon as quietly as possible.

The ninja Eevee popped out of a nearby shadow as a blue and white squirrel appeared next to a stately green bird, who turned her head to look over at Liz, nodding in shy greeting. “Okay, squirt, you and Twist here see about sneaking in through that window and see what you can find out. See something interesting, go ahead and grab it, Twist, but only if you can do so without being caught.” He knew her occasional kleptomaniac tendencies, and if she could get hold of something useful for proof that way, all the better. Wouldn't do to count on it, though. “Maya, you keep in touch with them. Get to the roof and keep everyone in contact as best you can, all right?”

'I'll do my best...' Maya trilled in his mind. The squirrel lashed her tail nervously a few times, then swarmed up the boxes after the quiet fox, both of them sneaking in through the window. If needed, Maya does her best to telekinetically unlock and open the thing with her Psychic powers before flitting to the roof as unobtrusively as possible. That left him and Liz.

“Well...we can either try following them in, but I don't fancy trying to sneak in through a window into a building that I don't know in the slightest, or we can try and surprise the guy in back and try to take him out with either paralysis or sleep moves from our other pals. Or you can do the window and I go around back and stuff. Which do you think's the better idea?” He spoke quietly, ready again to follow her lead on the choice, either by trying to sneak through a window literally blind, or send Strom and Faith over to surprise the back door guard.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
:eevee :ml Lv. 13 (Adaptability, Run Away) and :pachirisu :fl Lv. 12 (Pickup, Run Away) trying to sneak in through the window.
Following a likely scenario of him going for the back door, having :faith :fl Lv. 31 and :rotom :gl Lv. 20 try to sneak up and use Grasswhistle and Thunder Wave at that guy. Otherwise, trying to go through a window without being able to see the window, what's on the other side, or the boxes and stuff to climb up easily.
Or following her lead if she has a third, possibly better idea.
:xatu :fl Lv. 28 is proceeding to try and be a radio, keeping various groups in contact through her telepathy.
"Yea he gets the creeps around you." Liz smirked at Ben and heard a faint, 'I heard that!'. Loki returned swiftly as the warehouse was closer than expected. He grumbled to himself as he lead them over and sulked a few feet above Liz's head. The trainer rolled her eyes then watched as Ben released his teammates and got a plan in motion. It seemed good enough to Liz. She looked up at Loki who stuck his tongue out at her.
"Come on, why don't you go keep an eye on everybody. They can't see you and you've got levitation on your side." Loki rolled his eyes and vanished into the darkness without a word. It was a bit unusual for the ghost but Liz wasn't too worried. She knew deep down he held more respect for her than he let on. Ben began speaking and Liz brought her thoughts back to the mission at hand. She shrugged not having any better ideas.
"Knocking out always seems like a good option. We might want to tie them up somewhere inconspicuous though. Though we may need to find some rope." That probably would've been something useful to bring, yet the young woman hadn't any with her.
Ok guys. This one has gone on so long that I can't even keep up with all the fun details that usually make storylines fun. Tenchi is devoured by school so I can't get him to bail me out of this one so...mod will suck. I'm sorry. BUT, I'll try to close this off so you can get out of here and move on with life.
So you'd found the right warehouse. Excellent. You'd witnessed seven men, one of which appeared to be high class enough to run the show, disappear inside of the warehouse. Well, one of them was guarding the rear entrance, right? And you've chosen to zap his ass into the land of nod rather than wriggle through a window yourself. Not the quietest of entrances I'm afraid to say.
However, for the sake of not forgetting what's happened, what should have happened, what will happen, and just getting this over with, I'm going to say the poor oaf was out cold before he knew what hit him. Maya took to the roof and relayed the news to her two furry cohorts slipping in through the window. These were two fuzzballs you can thank for your information.
While your brief scuffle out back knocked out the guard. His muffled cry was not unheard. The group of men that the tree rat and pup witnessed converging inside the gloomy building, were just about to begin negotiations of some sort when the guard's body thudding against the ground and the distant UMMPH, drew the suspicions of another thug. Without waiting for a signal from the boss, he left the group and proceeded for the back door. The meeting resumed.
All around were crates and crates of an unknown cargo. Several crates were near the group though and their lids were being pried open.
"Quality merchandise, boss." Declared one of the thugs showcasing the crate's contents. The furry ones could just see that it contained more than a few pokeballs.
The man in the Italian suit drew on a cigarette and sidled over to the crate, handling one of the pokeballs curiously. "How many?" He asked casually.
"Three hundred!" Declared the showman.
The Italian rubbed his chin thoughtfully and nodded. "And traceability?"
"Their owners won't be looking for them, I'll say that much." Laughed the other. The boss chuckled along with him.
"Excellent. Then I trust you can move the merchandise?"
"Of course..."
And then a shout at the back called the meeting to a halt. The other thug, the one who'd left to investigate the sound, had just reached the open back door to find the guard wasn't answering. It was time to get the heck out of dodge before these guys saw you. For the record, Maya saw all of this through the eyes of her companions and relayed the warning before the thug reached the door. Also, the guy in the Italian suit, Gunnci presumably, took his own personal body guard and swiftly left the building, returning to his car. His flight was marked by the sharp squeal of tires peeling out. Now the thugs inside the building were on the move. They all scattered, looking for you.
Last task, get your squirble and pup and get out of there without being seen.
Well...that went halfway all right. Yay for taking multiple routes for things. Ben winced at the strangled sound the fellow made, moving to check if there was any potential clues or other itemy-things that might be usable to identify these guys, but he wasn't allowed much time at all to do that before Maya flared a warning into their minds.
'They heard, they're coming, hide!' With it came a mental live feed of from the viewpoint of the Ninja Eevee, under something, watching all this byplay. He stumbled, stifling a few curses at that.
'Maya...' he thought hard at her, trying to sort out the painful mental imagery, not too clear on what the heck he was seeing. 'Just send it over to Liz or something, dangit, not me!' He stumbled away from the backdoor, making for the window. The flutter of apology, like feathers on the skin, as the images faded out again.
Twist's tail flicked restlessly at the sight of all those pokeballs, gaze darting every which way as the thugs and Mr. Gucci scattered. If the crate was left open, her kleptomania will get the better of her and she'll make a snatch for the topmost before running like the little coward she was, following after the sneaky little eevee as he scuttled for the window.
Ben rubbed at his temples, still trying to recover from getting force-fed the sight of the meeting, waiting for the feel of the two in the window, to snatch them up. "Your lead again, Liz...I'll follow as best I can," he said quietly to his companion, tense as a coiled spring, on high alert for any sound of people rounding corners. "Strom, Faith, referee." He figured Cecylia, and possibly Tansy as well, of Liz's team, would be on similar orders, which was basically to stun, paralyze, put to sleep, or otherwise attempt to disable anyone that spotted them as they fled.
He hoped that the fox and squirrel could get out and them away without such, though...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Uh, searching guard for some sort of ID or anything else interesting that might identify organization or something in the three seconds before retreating so as not to get spotted.

Then, basically going to wait for critters to sneak back out to window and grab them, then follow Liz in a full fledged retreat. Leafy and Rotom to use Thunder Wave, Grasswhistle, etc. on thugs if they pop out at us.

If presented with an opportunity where crate is open and no thugs/people are looking, squirble is gonna make a snatch for a pokeball before RUNNING AWAY! (Both Squirble and Eevee have this ability, BTW. Heh.)

Liz winced at the strangled yell from the guard. Well that didn't work out. Her thoughts were interrupted by the visual picture transmitted from Maya. She'd gotten used to this from Loki and allowed the psychic bird to infiltrate her thoughts. Liz frowned and swore under her breath.

"He's getting away, and crap we've got company. Artemis come on out girl." She released the dark canine who growled and scanned the scene before turning to face her trainer.

"Artemis I need you to provide a little distraction and cover for our friends inside. Use Smog above the door then Ember to set it ablaze. Wait until Cal and Twist, an Eevee and Pachirisu, are out." The Houndour nodded then turned to focus on the back door. She waited for fleeing Pokémon then breathed in deep. Artemis released a thin veil of Smog toward the doorway trying to keep it condensed and high in the air. She quickly followed up with a burst of Embers and the smoke ignited.

'You know you could've hit me with that.' The disgruntled voice of Loki found its way to her thoughts. Apparently the ghost was still inside, toying with a few of the men's minds with some Confuse Rays.

'I was beginning to wonder if you were still around. Are you coming?' Liz inquired with a thought as she hurried back up the alley one hand placed lightly on Ben's arm to help them keep track of one another. Tansy and Artemis were at her heels ready to give anyone who got near them a dose of Sleep Powder or a face full of Smog. Cecylia as always was perched on her shoulder listening cautiously for any sign of pursuit; her cheeks sparking with electrical energy prepared to deliver a nice shock to any followers. Loki decided to rejoin them with a raspberry.

'Not trying to ditch me were you?' The ghost scowled as he floated after them. Liz chuckled and glanced back at Loki.

"'Course I wouldn't ditch you. Now if you don't mind, we're trying to get out of here, preferably in one piece. You can keep using Confuse Ray on anyone who tries to come after us though." Liz responded with a grin. Loki rolled his eyes but kept a look out for anyone chasing them. Liz hoped that Artemis's diversion had bought them enough time to get away unseen.

The guard, paralyzed and helpless to defend himself against the unwanted search, watched the blind man with a steady gaze. Nothing came of the search, but a positive identification should Ben ever come across these peoples path again was assured. He fled the scene hurriedly, pausing by the window for his fluffy cohorts.

From Liz's direction a burst of flame and black smoke unfurled, spore charring to glowing cinders as it blocked the sight of their retreat. The party regrouped as the tree rat and kit scrambled back through the door. Shouts and foot falls were hard on their heels. The snarling face of a rugged hired hand rushed to the open pane and his arms thrust through the opening and flailed.

"Come back here, you!"

Loki was ready and twisted the man's perception so perfectly as to leave him stumbling back into the floor, curled into a fetal position and singing children's rhymes. The Squirrel leapt to Ben's shoulder, mouth clutching something red and white. There was no time to check the thing, the group was off, on foot and relying on the fire smog to confound the enemy long enough to round the bend and get out of sight.

Shouts followed and scattered as together they scrambled first one way and then the next, Liz snaring Ben's arm and dragging him this way and that until at last they were alone. They'd made it, they got in and got out but only just. The information they had gathered would give the OME a name associated with a smuggling business, and while that particular location had been compromised, the organization now knew that the docks were being used as a point of entry for illegal or stolen property.

It was time to return to the pickup point.

On the chopper ride back, with the danger behind them, Ben could check out what the squirrel had filched. The now twice stolen pokeball would reveal a high level alakazam. The final piece in the puzzle. The intelligent creature was the witness needed to implicate Bobbie Gnucci.
