So you wanna be a master?

Ah, how I missed being on the move. "Delphi... Please let go of my collar... Can't breathe..." Neffar, the Absol mumbled through her mouthful as she forged along over the grass, head and tail held high. Cerb gasped like a dying carp, the neck of her shirt held tight in Delphi's grip as the teen was dragged along like so much baggage over the soft ground. Alfred was staying a cautious distance away from the Absol with Sparky still riding on his shoulder, while Elvan and Agni capered along with all the important stuff snug on the Typhlosion's back. Finally sick of being dragged and ignored and wanting some moral support, Cerb remembered she had a final Pokemon and groped for the ball, releasing the Ninetales out onto the grass. Pixie sniffed the air deeply and kneaded the soft ground beneath her paws, glad for a nice change from the last arid landscape she had been out in before looking strangely at Delphi and Cerb making SAVE ME motions. What on earth are you doing, Diffiplinin', the Absol replied, shaking her tail at Pixie without losing pace. The Ninetales laid her ears back and looked curiously around at the other Pokemon maintaining a wary distance. Come over here, we'll fill you in, Alfred mumbled, waving with his paw as Sparky chittered on his shoulder. Pixie scampered over to be told the whole sordid tale of what happened in Brightopolis by the two furballs, while the other two furballs made attempts to save their trainer from choking to death and having irremoveable grass stains covering her jeans. -- Currently: Soggy Dirt -> Sinklands 1 [Mist Valley, Malral] |

0.3 ![]() Six pokemon and one trainer making their way across a plain of wet, squishy dirt and grass. How quaint. Okay, maybe 'quaint' was the wrong word, what with you being dragged along by your Absol as a form of 'diffiplin' and nearly choking while getting thoroughly soaked and grass-stained. 'Hilarious' is much more appropriate. For a while, the only sounds were chattered explanations, the squeaking of an air-deprived human, and the squishy sounds of everyone's feet walking across the terrain. It would difficult to call it peaceful, but it sort of was, as much as predictable insanity could be. Squishsquishsquish, squishsquishsquish, squishsquishsquish. Wait, those weren't the footsteps of your group. Turning back to look would reveal a trio of hopping followers, and the trio of buneary all hopped backward, their landings staggered in another squishsquishsquish. One sheepishly hid behind the other two, while the others waved cheerfully, as if stalking a trainer was absolutely completely normal. Well, actually, it wasn't you, exactly, they were following, which would be found out the moment Pixie gave them so much as a glance. The gaze of the young Ninetales would put goofy, brain-turned-to-mush smiles on the three rabbit's faces, with the slightly more cowardly of the three nearly falling right over in an attempt to back up further. Ninetales are just that universally pretty, I guess. --- Lvl 44 x 3[Stalking Pixie] |

.3 ![]() At the sound of mysterious footsteps the little group paused, with Delphi finally opening her mouth to drop Cerb facefirst into the dirt with a loud squish. Agni and Elvan bounded over while the Absol was distracted to nose and further molest their trainer while she coughed and flailed. "'smatter now?" Cerb wheezed, slowly sitting upright and trying to rub the mud on her glasses off with her muddy shirt. Barely five minutes in to going somewhere and she already looked like a swamp monster. Bunnies, Delphi observed wryly as Alfred came over with Sparky and Pixie, the Lucario eyeing her warily while the Pikachu went to check on his squishy and muddy trainer. Lotsa bunnies. "Oh." Cerb squinted at the shy trio before giving her glasses a last desperate buff and placing them back on her nose for minimally better vision. "I wonder what they want." Autographs, I think, Alfred said, looking sideways at Pixie. The Ninetales blinked at him for a moment before pricking up her ears in surprise. She had actual admirers! Hello boys,~ Pixie purred, fluffing her neck fur and letting her tails fan out elegantly to her sides. Cerb just gave her a mud-crusted look. "Sweet Mew preserve me, I need a shower," she grumbled, checking to make sure the dream emblem was still safe and dry before squishily rising from the ground and shaking off her shirt and jacket and pants of muck. The neck of her shirt was completely stretched out, and she made several attempts to bundle it up and tuck it away for something more decent. "You owe me another shirt, Delphi." I owe you squat, the Absol sniffed, getting up and padding off again. Cerb sighed and waved to the rest of her bunch, resisting the urge to roll her eyes at Pixie when the Ninetales got up and started almost literally floating along the ground. -- Currently: Soggy Dirt -> Sinklands 1 [Mist Valley, Malral] |

0.3 ![]() The mushy, disgusting ground did not stop Pixie from prancing as gracefully as she could around the swamp. Her delicate and gentle steps merely mesmerized the Bunearies into near oblivion, as she somehow decided that she should continue flaunting her natural beauty by deliberately prancing around the group in general, and in as many alluring poses as she could without actually being tainted by the mud. Notwithstanding the many dirty glances that her allied Pokemon were probably giving her, she could at least argue that she was blessed with such beauty to show off, and why shouldn't she anyway? Still, the synchronized squishing was at least indicative of the following Bunearies, and the fact that there were no more riff-raff trying to follow the Ninetales removed any pressure that you might have of having a big mob following you. With Pixie removed to go on teasing the Bunearies, the remaining 5 of your team began to set off again, as Delphi picked you up once more (this time in disdain, since you were so covered in mud the Absol was almost unwilling to touch you at all...) Still the squealing Bunearies were entirely bewitched by Pixie, to the extent that the three bunnies were even willing to jump across those difficult potholes that were easy to cross for any Ninetales, but a lot more difficult for the bunnies. And at the end of the five minutes, the three bunnies were full of mud, almost indistinguishable from you, and extremely contented that they were noticed by the Ninetales. And thus, it is proven that Pixie has a cruel streak @_@ Thing changed abruptly when the three bunnies suddenly leapt in front of Pixie, but were too shy to say anything. Your group was forced to stop as Pixie was 'kept hostage' by the three bunnies, and it took them wuite a lot of shoving and finger-pointing to do what they planned to. Which was... 'Will... Will you go out with us- I mean, me?' The other two Bunearies giggled furiously behind the one which declared his pursuit openly, but would Pixie accept a half-sludge, half-weed bunny as a boyfriend? Odd. Really odd. Lvl 44 x 3[Stalking Pixie; one is declaring his love =O] |

.2 ![]() They finally appeared to be making some progress, at least. Cerb was staring at the map of the valley on her Poketech so hard it seemed like it would burst into flames, while Frequency squeaked and squealed in a corner of the screen. The rest of her Pokemon who weren't showing off were making it a point to try and ignore Pixie and the bunnies, yet at the same time keeping an eye on them in case of sudden calamity. It's happened before. So when Pixie was proposed to by the bunnies, Sparky groaned and Alfred facepawed with a grumble. Cerb stopped and looked back to see the Ninetales standing with her ears pricked forward and her way blocked by a bunch of adorable fuzzballs. "Is she in danger of getting raped or kidnapped?" The teen asked, looking from Alfred to Delphi. The Lucario just seemed bored, and the Absol wasn't flipping a shit to indicate danger, so things all seemed good on that end. "Pixie, come on. We're gonna be walking in marsh all night at this rate." Pixie laid her ears back, wrinkling her snout and looking down at her muddy paws. None of that shit for her, thanks. Sorry dears. I'm not really looking for a man, she informed almost pleasantly, before her hind legs bunched and she leaped over the Buneary roadblock to go scampering after her trainer and slipping into the ranks. "You guys wouldn't do so well with Pixie anyway. She seems like the love'em and leave'em type to me," Cerb called back over her shoulder. The Ninetales growled and flicked up the tip of one tail to smack her trainer on the back of the head with it. "Gah!" Just to enforce the fact that they wanted to move on without Pixie getting kidnapped or whatnot, Cerb gestured to Elvan and Agni with one hand while she rubbed the back of her head with the other. The two fire types nodded and promptly proceeded to flank Pixie, who just grumbled at them. Precautions were always necessary with this bunch, she supposed. Cerb kept an eye on Delphi, who was sniffing and scouting ahead in the muck, while Alfred continued to pad along near the back with Sparky in danger-sensing mode. -- Currently: Soggy Dirt -> Sinklands 1 [Mist Valley, Malral] |

0.3 ![]() The trio of Buneary looked sadly at Pixie when she leap over them and continues walking with you through the Soggy Dirt. When they started to follow you, your two fire pokemon looked back at then and give them a nasty sort of glare making them bounce off, I don't think that they wanted to be eaten today. After a few minutes the Soggy Dirt turned into a different texture. When you went to take your next step you ended up knee deep in a mixture of water and dirt, what was it called again? Oh right, mud. You were now knee deep in some kind of wonderful. You didn't want to fall deeper than you already where, to be honest it was dangerous, but at least you didn't take a face full of it. Best be careful of your stepping from now on trainer, that and you should probably watch out for your pokemon, the ones that will probably sink rather far anyways. Welcome to Sinklands 1, out of the Soggy Dirt and into the MUD. They didn't call it the sinklands for nothing. Many an item have been lost in this part of Murmur Valley. It wasn't the greatest place to have stay. Be careful not to fall into one of those lovely little sink holes, you could end up chest height in mud if you weren't careful. And you never know what is lurking in the mud, you could be attacked by the infamous Marsh Monster who might just take you as his bride. I'm pretty sure you don't want that, your Ninetales had just been proposed to by some fuzzy balls. I'm pretty sure that you don't want to be proposed to by some Swamp or Marsh thing any time soon. |

.2 ![]() Being proposed to by a swamp monster is about par for the course as far as this lot is concerned. Cerb suppressed a groan as she felt her leg sink into the muck, immediately leaning back to make sure her balance was oriented in the direction of solid ground. "I think we're making progress." If you can call that progress, Alfred observed from a safe distance, ears flat back as he stared at the unstable ground. That wasn't a good place for him to go, he was half a heavy steel thing and he could sink. Cerb turned her head enough to make a face at him. "A little help, somebody?" She asked, gesturing to her leg in the mud. After a moment's pause, Agni reared up onto his hind legs and waddled over to wrap his paws around his trainer's leg and pull backwards. "Gently Ags, don't want to increase the suction," Cerb muttered as she began to hop back on her unsunk leg, the Typhlosion growling in acknowledgement. Elvan hovered nearby until his trainer's leg emerged with a series of wet sucking sounds from the mud, the last being a rather obnoxious SCHLOOP before the ground bubbled and was quiet. The first thing Cerb did as she sagged back against Agni was check and make sure that she still had a boot on, for one. It appeared to still be intact, which was a small blessing. Cerb really didn't want to have to replace her shoes again. At least she wasn't completely falling over with the Typhlosion still having a firm grip on her ribs. "I'm okay now, Ags. Which of you doesn't feel like mud? Because there's a lot of mud here," she said, looking around Agni's furry belly to her other clustered Pokemon. Alfred and Pixie had almost identical faces of do-not-want, so they went back into their balls and left Sparky to drop with a squeak onto the marshy ground. "You two are okay with staying?" Cerb asked her two fire Pokemon, glancing briefly over her shoulder at Delphi. The Absol was sniffing at the ground, her eyes slightly distant. Elvan barked agreement and Agni rolled his shoulders to show that he was still the carrier of the backpack. Cerb watched the Typhlosion warily as Sparky clawed his way up the side of her jeans to her shoulder. The memory of Bane drowning in icy water came to mind, she didn't want her fire weasel to end up suffocating in mud. "You be very careful, Agni," she told the Typhlosion before turning away to look at Delphi. There was a different line in the Absol's body, as her hindlegs bunched and she sprang to land a short distance away on a solid patch of grass. And thiiiiiis is how it's done, kiddies. Delphi wiggled her butt at the group, waiting for the horde to catch up with her. Cerb made a face at the fluffy white Pokemon's behind, before she began to very carefully pick her way towards the Absol. Elvan padded after her, the Houndoom sniffing cautiously at the ground while Agni just waddled in the pawsteps of the other Pokemon. Cerb wondered if mud smelled different from normal ground, though there wasn't much time to think about it because Delphi was springing off again to another solid point. -- Currently: Sinklands 1 -> Mist Valley [Malral] Edited by Cerby, May 6 2010, 02:20 PM.

0.3 Following Delphi, your Disaster Pokémon, from one seemingly solid patch of ground to another you remain safe for the time being. This was to say that you were safe from the environment, and not those who inhabit the inhospitable lands. Though you couldn't see many pokemon peeking their heads out from the mud or on any of the dry, solid spots in the Marsh, they were still there. Many pokemon lived in and around the area, but to the untrained eye it was rather hard believe that anything could live in such a sty. You continued to follow your Absol through the area until she got her paw stuck in the moist ground. Delphi was on solid ground and didn't sink, through her paw was stuck in a different hole of sorts. Her paw was stuck despite her efforts to pull it out. While that happened, you followed her to the land mass. You could see that it was surrounded by mud, though not terribly deep. The mud only hit around your ankles, which was a relief to you and your pokemon as you trudged to meet Delphi on soild ground again. Soon, you could hear a buzzing noise, something soft like wings flapping. Combee! It was those cute adorable bee comb looking things. They stared at Delphi for a moment, circling around the Absol. Slowly they went to poke at your Absol's leg trying to figure out what her paw was stuck in. Normally they wouldn't be concerned with this, but it seemed like it was important enough for them to stop and bug your Absol by poking at her leg with their bodies. "Beeeeeee..." One of them said when they backed off for a moment. It frowned for just a second before going back to poking at the leg like there was something important under it.

.3 ![]() Mah leeeeeg is stuck! "In what?" Cerb asked tiredly, slogging over through the mud with her companions behind her until she stood next to the Absol and could examine the problem. Delphi tugged at her paw with little growls, standing awkwardly on three legs as she attempted to free herself. Cerb couldn't see anything unusual about the hole...it looked like a hole. That was eating her Absol's foot. While Delphi tugged and Cerb pondered on the problem, her other three Pokemon perked up at the sound of buzzing drifting closer over the marsh. Agni reared up on his hind legs, ears back as he sniffed at the air and gave the faintest of flares at the fur around his neck. Smelling smoke, Cerb looked up in alarm and shoved the huge weasel in the shoulder. "Dooon't you set my backpack on fire. What's the matter?" "Tyffff," Agni rumbled, pointing in the direction of the buzzing. Cerb blinked as Combee came zooming towards them, but not in an aggressive manner or anything of the sort. Not wanting to irritate the buggies, the teen tugged the Typhlosion back down towards the earth and blinked at the three Combee studying Delphi's stuck leg like it was the most interesting thing on earth. Delphi herself looked a little puzzled at being surrounded by flying honeycombs, though she wasn't attempting to savage them in case they could actually help. I think I'm stuck on buried treasure, "Weeeell, can't have that," Cerb mused, while wondering why the hell her itemfinder wasn't going off if it was anything important. Turning her head from the bees and the muddy rat on her shoulder, she looked down and over at Elvan. The Houndoom sat patiently like a good dog, though his tail began to thwap against the grass when her gaze rested upon him. "Hey Elvy, you're a dog. Dogs dig, right? C'mere and dig Delphi out," Cerb said, pointing at the Absol. Elvan barked and rose, bounding over to cautiously jab his paws into the soft ground around Delphi's leg and start to dig. "Go easy though buddy, the ground's not stable here," the teen warned, making it a point to stand well out of the way of flying dirt along with Agni. "And try not to hit the bees." Or me, thanks, Delphi grumbled, trying to sidle away from the Houndoom horns jabbing into her shoulder but stuck in place by her leg. Elvan whuffed to show he had heard, continuing to shovel dirt back with his front paws. -- Currently: Sinklands 1 -> Mist Valley [Malral] |

0.3 The combee trio circled around Delphi as Elvan tried to dig her leg out. They tried to dodge the dirt as best they could, though they were really only interested on what was under Delphi's paw, which was plain to see. The three waited patiently as your Houndoom swiped at the dirt with his front paws. Before too long he stopped as he hit something rather hard, which was odd considering Delphi hadn't mentioned anything under her paw being hard. Elvan just looked at the ground for a moment, poking his snout at the ground for a moment before pulling a rock from the ground. He resumed digging as the Combee became more impatient. "Beeeee..." One of them said sadly. It landed to the left of Delphi, trying to avoid the dirt. The other two continued to circle their friend, the absol and the houndoom. Whatever was under Delphi's paw was very important to them. Elvan just kept digging for a few moments more before Delphi could feel the ground around her loosen. This time, she was able to pull her paw out, though it was covered in honey. Looking down at the ground you saw that there was a full honey comb of honey surrounded by rocks to protect the pure rich honey from the mud and dirt. The Combee just looked at Delphi with sad expressions. They weren't hostile, but they were just sad that Delphi had spoiled their honey. I think they would have been more hostile if there wasn't a pair of fire types staring them down. They just continued to circle around Delphi like she did something wrong and she should fix it. |

.3 ![]() Now that she finally had her leg back, Delphi hobbled awkwardly backwards on three legs to look at the Combee, the hole, and what her foot was covered in. Heeey buggy things, don't look at me. 's nothin' I can do about it, she grumbled, trying to shake honey off her paw back into the hole. Elvan was sniffing around the edge of the honey hole, drooling slightly and trying to keep it to himself at the same time. Cerb just looked a bit unamused, with Agni mirroring her expression behind her back. "Sometime this century, children." Meh at you. Go take a nap or something. Delphi waved her honey-covered paw at her trainer before casting a last, careful look at the Combees. Assured that Elvan and Agni could fry them in four seconds should the need arise, the Absol began to lick herself clean, drooling slightly once the honey hit her tongue. Oh yum, this stuff is AWESOME. Meanwhile, Cerb gestured to Agni. "I think we should fill in their hole. A bit better this time," she added, pointing to the rock Elvan had nosed aside. The Typhlosion nodded and padded over, picking up the rock in his paws and putting it back down into the hole in a way that formed a snug cap for the honeycomb. Once that was done Agni retreated and Elvan went back to his role as a backhoe, shoveling dirt on top of the rock and stamping it down with his paws until it was firm and seamless. "I hope you watch where you're going this time, now," the teen said to Delphi as the Absol came padding over. Delphi just wiggled her tail at her trainer, sniffing the air and staring aimlessly into the distance for a moment before she sprang off to another patch of ground. Sighing, Cerb gathered her two roving Pokemon to her and headed off after the Absol, with Sparky keeping a watchful eye on the Combee from her shoulder. -- Currently: Sinklands 1 -> Mist Valley [Malral] |

0.3 ![]() The Combee stayed in their passive state as your and your crew of ragtag pokemon covered their honeycomb of honey again, this time better than before. They chanted happily because of it, though they stared at Delphi for a while longer as she licked the honey off her paw. Buzzing around you for a few more seconds, they soon dispersed and went back to their own business, probably to check on other random honeycombs in the vast Marsh Lands. Why Combee lived in this area was beyond me, but they did. At least Delphi enjoyed the honey that was stuck to her paw, too bad Elvan didn't get any. +2 for fixing the honeycomb Delphi broke with paw. Combee are happy campers again. You trudged onwards through the mud covered land. Your Absol lead on again, being more careful now as to not get stuck in another random honeycomb, though I'm sure Delphi would have enjoyed the impromptu meal. Well there was nothing else to do now, just to keep trudging in the mud until you hit mist. The mist was an eye shot away, but the funny thing about the mist was that it never as far as you really thought it was. Now entering Mist Valley. Party of seven. |

.2 ![]() Currently: Mist Valley -> Malral -- With their buzzing little friends gone, Cerb checked to see if anything else was stalking them as they slogged along through the muck. At least Delphi was actually checking to see where she stepped this time, the Absol setting her paws carefully on the ground before leaping off again. With no more distractions, they managed to move fairly swiftly until a wall of white stuff stopped them. "I presume this to be the Mist Valley," Cerb muttered, pulling out her Poketech to check the GPS settings on it. Frequency squealed at her from a corner of the screen as the teen looked to see what the general direction of Malral was, which looked to be mostly south. "Somewhere in front of us is Malral... At least it's not mucky anymore," she mumbled, looking at her one leg covered in mud from the knee down. Then there was the paws of all her Pokemon coated in grime, which meant a group bath at some point. Ignoring the squeaking of her Rotom, Cerb shoved the Poketech back in her pocket and kept walking. "Aaaalmost there, guys. Then we can have some fun." She didn't say what kind of fun, though doubtless Elvan would be very pleased with it. |

0.3 ![]() Saying that Mist Valley wasn't mucky was a mistake on Cerby's part. It was still quite mucky though not as much as the Sinklands. At least there wasn't mud, mud would be terrible especially if one fell knee or waist deep in. The Mist was thick and you couldn't really see that far in front of you, not that you could see your feet either but you kept walking anyways. It wasn't that bad. It was just that you'd probably need new socks and shoes after this trek, they were already all covered and gross looking and the socks were probably damp and gross feeling from dropping knee deep in mud. At least you were close to town, or at least you thought you were. I suppose that was comforting to know. You trekked on, not knowing what you could face in the Mist ahead, just that you needed to keep going to save your behind from what was in front or behind you. Maybe something was stalking you from within the Mist. Maybe it was a psycho killer, or just an adapted pokemon. Most pokemon would have had to adapted to live in the mist and fog of Murmur Valley, it only seemed natural that they could find their way through the mist and fog, unlike a trespasser, even if the trespasser had a smart Disaster Pokemon with her. Well, other than that, you were potentially being stalked. Oh that sound so much fun. |

Cerb idly reached up to scratch behind Sparky's ears as she walked, the Pikachu on her shoulder throwing up a smattering of sparks to provide a soft glow around her face. It helped to somewhat keep Delphi in view, even though the fluffy white Pokemon was only a few feet ahead and delicately picking her way through the fog. Her black saber tail stuck straight up like a banner and occasionally wagged side to side to show that yes, she was still there. As for the rest of her Pokemon, the two fire critters flanked her on either side. Both Agni and Elvan were alert, the Typhlosion's ears pricked while the Houndoom scented the air. Cerb wasn't too terribly worried about getting jumped with the state of her small army, and even if they were, she could deal with it. Probably have to rip her backpack off of Agni before he reduced it to cinders by accident, but otherwise things would be good. |

.2 ![]() Well, that's one of the good things about having all of your Pokemon out, huh? A wild Pokemon would be stupid to come out. Granted, most wild critters assumed that all trainers just wanted to beat them up and leave them for dead, and as such have no idea that Cerby is basically attempting to be one of those hippie pacifist people. So any kind of evil wild Pokemon could try to steal her backpack or something... But, no. Maybe the wild critters just valued their lives today and were avoiding the girl and her pack, or maybe they didn't feel like giving her any more experience points. Maybe they didn't feel like dragging this trip out any more then it had to be. Or maybe they all just ran away. Who the hell knows. Either way, Malral is right there, so Cerby might want to run like hell before something mean-nasty comes out of the fog and decides to take a bite out of her behind. |

Currently: Unclearable Fog Marsh 1 -> Sinklands 2 [Unclearable Fog Marsh 2, Misthenge] -- SO HEY LOOK WHERE I AM AGAIN. This valley sucks. "Hokaaaay. Now I smell progress," Cerb mused, boots squishing in the grass as they left Malral and headed into a cloud of white. Are you sure that's not the smell of marsh mud getting to your head? Delphi asked dryly as she padded along close to her trainer. Cerb reached down and gripped the Absol by the scruff, mostly so they wouldn't get separated because of her puffy white coat blending into the fog that surrounded them. "Nuuu. I smell VICTORY. Or something like it." Pausing a moment, Cerb reached with her free hand to twist a ball off her belt and throw it, letting the light form into the shape of a massive fluffy dog. This was something of a nervous moment for her, since this Arcanine hadn't really been properly introduced to the rest of the crew yet. Now released from the sphere, Epona took long sniffs at the moisture-soaked air before looking to the girl beside her and whuffing curiously. This was certainly not her old master, that was for sure. "Hi Epona." Cerb held out her palm for the dog to sniff, feeling wet slimy nose snuffle across her palm. "I know we never really met, but I was a friend of Elijah's. And if I'm not mistaken, I bought the stone you evolved with," she said dryly with the sudden memory. Epona barked at this, a sound that made Sparky crouch on her shoulder and flatten his ears with the gust of smelly dog breath wind. "He used you as a land transport before, correct?" The massive dog flattened her ears and nodded her head, creampuff tail swishing around her legs in a wag. Yes, she had transported her old master quite a ways across the country, and it had been fun to run so freely. Cerb thought this was quite encouraging, looking down at Delphi a moment to gauge the Absol's reaction. Delphi merely sniffed, her black tail giving a soggy thwap against the ground. What? You'd just better hope this dinky dog can keep up with ME. "Very nice, Delphi," Cerb grumbled as Epona extended her head and blew a snort in the Absol's face. "But nobody is trying to leave anybody behind here. It's a pretty straight run," she explained to the Arcanine, who had one ear leveled at her trainer in a listening position. "All the way to Misthenge. Just gotta watch for the mucky bits. Luckily, I think it's a pretty narrow band." Epona barked again, this time crouching low on the ground in a move that surprised Cerb before she managed to scramble up and wriggle her way into position over the dog's shoulders. "Man, Elijah must have had buns of steel," she grumbled, fidgeting to find a comfortable sitting position and feeling the bones of the spine and scapula beneath her dig into her butt. "Hope you don't mind if I cling, Epona." Let's go let's go! Delphi yipped once she was sure Cerb wasn't about to fall off the other side of the dog, getting to her paws and dashing into the mist. Epona followed with a burst of famous Arcanine speed and an eager sniffing nose that followed the scent trail left hanging heavily in the damp air. Cerb squeaked and lost all attempts at dignity, instead wrapping her legs tightly around the dog's smooth sides and digging her fingers deep into the thick furry ruff to avoid being left sitting on air. Sparky was squeaking in her ear and had his paws clinging onto her ponytail in a panic, tail sticking straight up and spitting sparks. |

0.3 ![]() Oh hey! You're back, that is wonderful! The valley bellowed and bubbled at your presence, welcoming you back into the fray. Mounted on your transports you and your dog-cat-arrowtailed-thingy raced across the Unclearable Fog Marsh. Epona could smell her way to Misthenge, theoretically. It wasn't long before Epona started to hop up over things leaving Delphi behind some as her paws started to cover themselves in the Marshy waters as they pranced over to the Misted Village. The mist bellowed in her wake as she cut through it, always slowing down so that Delphi could keep up with the free-spirited dog. Delphi tried her best to keep up, while super aware of what was happening around her just in case something wanted to jump out at them and swallow them whole. Epona just happily bounded across the Fog Marsh, tongue lolling out, paws covered in muck before she heard a little bubbling from a few yards in front of her causing her to stop and wait for Delphi to catch up. You were nearly thrown forward by the force of the stop, just thought you should know. When Delphi had caught up to the happy, free running Arcanine the Muk appeared from under the Marsh. "Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk~" He said slopping up to you, not letting you pass from here on out. It was a pile of sludge, how bad could it possibly be? Well... pretty bad actually. The Muk started throwing mud at you. HE WAS A MUDSLINGER! Cerby received a face full of mud.

.3 ![]() Currently: Unclearable Fog Marsh 1 -> Sinklands 2 [Unclearable Fog Marsh 2, Misthenge] -- So. Running on a fire dog. Lots of fun, Cerb was discovering. Epona had wicked speed and a smooth gait that almost offset the fact that every leap she took had bones grinding against bones. Cerb was clinging for dear life to the fluffy mane still as the lack of padding around her butt began to wear on her. "I am going to have bruises where I should never have bruises," she grumbled, before Epona came to a sudden sliding stop in the muck and nearly sent her tumbling overboard. Only her arms kept her from completely going all akimbo, though Cerb still ended up with her chin between Epona's ears and her legs wrapping around the dog's neck. "Holy crap, what did we stop for?" SPLAT. Ewwww, what the heck is that, Delphi grimaced, wrinkling her nose at the pile of sludge blocking their way while Epona whined and fidgeted. There was muuuuuud dripping on her face get it oooooff. Sparky gathered a small swirl of water around the end of his tail and slashed it across Cerb's face, clearing most of the yuck in seconds. "I needed that," the teen mumbled, spitting out a mixture of water and mud off to the side before pulling off her glasses to clean them properly and glaring down at the Muk. "At least it threw the first punch. Go get it, Delphi." Pff, with what? I ain't gettin' near that, the Absol declared, hiding behind one of Epona's forelegs while the Arcanine whined some more. "Psychic blades of death or something. G'wan, don't be a wuss," How dare you even suggest that, Delphi growled, her fur ruffling as an invisble wind rippled under Epona's belly that made the giant dog bark and hop awkwardly away. I am no wuss! The Absol's red eyes flashed bright for a moment before she swung her head and sent a hunk of energy flying off her blade for the Muk. Off on the side, Cerb crouched warily on Epona to see if this would work, while the Arcanine whined and watched for more flying mud. -- Lvl 47141/141 [Swords Dance + Psycho Cut] vs Lvl 45180/180 [Roadblock!] |

0.3 ![]() Roadblocks were certainly annoying but they could be dealt with in a variety of ways. Using a brute force creature like Absol was one way of looking at it. The giant puddle of ooze shifted its mass a few times to try and intimidate the foe before it but the Absol did not budge. Far too stoic and fearless of a pokemon to be thrown off so easily. The Muk, somewhat surprised, gargled in an attempt to growl and possibly get it to leave and never return. Once again, this was to no avail. Unfortunately, a battle would have to take place. The dark type crouched low to the ground as the blade atop its head began to shimmer in the sunlight and grow sharper as each second passes in that crouched position. Muk was not sure what this ritual meant, but he had to take initiative. It coughed and spat a large mass of goo towards the hound but it leapt cleanly to the side and narrowly avoided harm. Muk's eyes became large black pools as it knew what was coming next. Psychic blades tore from Absol's own headpiece and crashed into the mass. Muk seemingly dispersed in an explosion of thick slime and putrid odors. It landed in seperate piles, quite possibly defeated. However, once you took a step forward, it reformed rapidly and spat another ball of goo at Absol. It wasn't quick enough. Before you knew it, Absol had been doused in a thick toxic cloud. It strained to avoid breathing the fumes, but it was no use. Absol had been poisoned. ![]() 47141/141 - Badly Poisoned Vs. ![]() 4595/180 |

.3 ![]() Currently: Unclearable Fog Marsh 1 -> Sinklands 2 [Unclearable Fog Marsh 2, Misthenge] -- Well bother. "You okay, Delphi?" Cerb asked, peering up over Epona's ears at the battlefield. The Arcanine had skittered further away when the Muk started vomiting sludge everywhere and she wanted no part of that. Delphi emerged from a cloud of smog, coughing and shaking her head with eyes watering. Augh, no. Mew, my eyeballs! Aaack, "Ew. Hang tight there Delphi, I can fix that." Cerb started rummaging around in her bag while keeping one eye on the Muk, which appeared to be half whipped but not down yet. Stupid giant piles of poison sludge. This one reminded her of the Grimer that ate her boot down near Y'orek. "See if you can down it with another slash or two, Delphi. I'll have wonderful healing things ready when you do," The Absol coughed again, shaking her fur a little to try and throw off what felt like a slimy stench surrounding her before she powered up again and sent another pair of psychic slashes at the roiling goo blob. Cerb, meanwhile, had finally uncovered where she hid that Pecha berry from the berry stash buried in her bag. "Heeeere Delphi," The pink berry went whistling through the air, and Delphi leapt for it to nom it ferociously. 0.2 ![]() Delphi munched on the sweet berry with joy, as most pokemon did when they were given a really good berry to eat. She was so absorbed with eating it that she gave up her turn. This meant that the Muk was free to attack, which it did. It was free to attack now and prepared a specially little surprise for Delphi as she munched on the berry, she obviously wasn't going to eat anything again any time soon because of what the Muk would do to her. The Muk threw up a lovely little purple Sludge Bomb at Delphi coating her with up-chuck and the like because it was a Muk and Muk are gross like that. Because of this, Delphi was poisoned a second time, but this time she took on damage it for it which was terrible. Of course, Delphi exacted her revenge right afterwards with a simple little swipe of her head sending a razored psychic blade at the Muk knocking it back and slicing it to gunky bits because it was a Muk. Delphi then staggered toward her trainer just wanting to continue because that was all she could do at this point. She was covered in purple gunk and didn't look at all pleased with the turn of events. It was just not fair and it was ugly looking. At least you were all clear to be in Sinklands 2 now, you lucky ducks.

.2 ![]() Delphi [ ] 83/141Currently: Sinklands 2 -> Unclearable Fog Marsh 2 [Misthenge] -- So much for the logical order of attacking and then eating, which was...what happened but not. That had gotten turned around somehow, and Cerb was greatly confused with the universe but that didn't matter now. Delphi was still poisoned aaaand they needed to get moving because she was out of stuff. But first, hosing off her poor pitiful Absol for all the good it would do. "Stand back, kiddies. The big boy's comin' out," Cerb said, reaching onto her belt for the Ultra ball there. Delphi made a face and hunkered down, while Epona whined curiously. "Don't run, Epona. He's pretty safe." Says you, Delphi grumbled, watching the ball get tossed out a distance away. And with good reason. The red Gyarados emerged with a roar, coil upon shiny red coil slithering through the damp grass as Rage sniffed the air and stared down at his trainer in confusion. The air smelled like water, but there was no water here for him to swim in. Cerb pointed at Delphi, and the Gyarados swung his head to look at the hunkering purple muck blob and growl. "She needs a bath." Oh hell no, Delphi looked about to run when a torrent of water spewed forth from Rage's mouth, prompting much yelping and GLUB-ing from the Absol. Epona had her ears flat back, whining furiously and prancing nervously in place while Cerb gripped on her back with her knees and fingers wrapped in her mane. Gradually the Gyarados powerwash died, leaving a soaking Absol in a puddle of mud. This isn't much consolation, you know. "Yeah, sorry. Epona here will try to be as speedy as possible now, won't you girl?" The Arcanine barked and fluffed her tail as Cerb reached for two Pokeballs and withdrew both her Pokemon, leaving Sparky gripping onto her shoulder and looking disgusted. "You may want to hide somewhere, rat. Epona can really zip when she feels like it." "Pika." Cerb tried not to itch or squirm as Sparky turned tail and burrowed into the space between her back and her backpack, eventually leaving only his ears poking up once he had himself situated. "Pikapi!" "Righto. We'll be zooming along to Misthenge now, 'pony," the teen directed as she basically glomped the Arcanine in a stranglehold around the neck and held on tight to the fluff. Epona barked twice before she crouched and was off like a shot from a cannon, her tail streaming through the misty air like a banner. |

.3 (Heh, nicely done.)Delphi [ ] 80/141 ![]() Epona dashed across the Sinklands, her paws barely touching the soft ground before they pushed off once again. There were a few close calls, where the ground gave a little more than Epona was wanting, or expected. The sight of an Arcanine running is truly spectacular, isn't it? Like a wisp of flame over a dry field, the fiery dogs can race across the land with superior speed and ease. But as the trainer of a very nice member of that pokemon species, Cerby had been able to observe this herself. Why listen to someone else talk about it? Strangely enough, there were very few pokemon out on this stretch of land. The few that Cerby was able to see as she was carried through Murmer Valley were caught up a few bugs, lucky enough to not have to travel via land. They could only watch the blur of red-ish orange fur fly past them. Maybe the pokemon cursed with feet and a slower speed were just unlucky and all got stuck in a sink hole? It was quite possible, as Cerby saw the tuft of long, broad, and now wilted leaves of an Oddish sticking up from a small, sunken piece of ground. Poor thing never stood a chance. As Epona ran, the air around them became thicker and more clouded by the gray mist. It hard for the Arcanine to see where she was running, let alone a couple feet in front of her. But there is some good news! Amidst the thick fog, the ground wasn't as spotty with sink holes, so traveling via a land-based pokemon wasn't like playing Russian Roullette. Cerby reached Unclearable Fog Marsh 2! Epona slowed in her running as the fog closed in around her and her riders. Her head swayed from side to side, trying to determine which way she was going. It was impossible to tell which direction was the right way to go. Epona growled softly, annoyed at the lack of sight. Tilting her head back, Epona gave her trainer a questioning look, hoping that Cerby still knew what direction to go in. But before trainer and pokemon continue on their journey... soft thuds could be heard coming from the distance. A low growl was emitted from the canine's mouth as it looked around, hoping to find the source of the noise. Slowly, to Cerby's left, a shadowy figure began to emerge from the fog. It was large, which explained the thud sounds, but what it was exactly was still a mystery. It didn't seem to notice Cerby, or Epona, since it kept walking its straight path. It could be another pile of poisonous sludge, piled high enough to look like something threatening. Or it could be something completely different. In this fog, it could be anything. |

.3 ![]() Currently: Unclearable Fog Marsh 2 -> Misthenge Delphi [ ] 77/141 -- At this point, Cerb was certainly glad for the speed of her Arcanine. Traveling on foot would have taken forever, even with Delphi's help navigating sinkholes. That would have taken even longer with the poisoned Absol now. Briefly the teen wondered if Epona had somehow managed to run across water, which would have been amazing but not impossible with the random solid bits in the mud. Either way, they were much closer now. With solid ground beneath her paws, Epona's speed would be unmatched - if she knew which way to go, anyway. Cerb took a breather with this chance to relax her gripping muscles, one hand gently kneading in Epona's fluff while the big dog whined and swung her head back and forth. "I think it's time for some GPS intervention," the teen mused, digging around in her pocket with her free hand to yank out her Poketech and flip it open. The screen buzzed to life with a familiar smiling orange face and slanted eyes. "Frequency, map and compass with our current location." <Juuuuuust a minute~!> The ghost squealed, face whirling out of sight and diving into the apps to dig around. Cerb waited impatiently, drumming her fingers on her leg while looking around into the fog. She knew they were in the next area, she just didn't know how far in. Epona began to growl softly when thuds sounded in the distance, and the pair of yellow ears sticking up from behind Cerb's shoulders perked and swiveled. Cerb herself frowned and squinted into the whiteness, seeing the large object approaching from the left. It didn't seem threatening at the moment, but it was also impossible to tell what it /was/ exactly. "Easy, Epona. We don't want to threaten whatever it is," she muttered to the Arcanine, Epona's ears flattening down into her fluff warily. A ding from her Poketech signaled the reemergence of Frequency from his mission. <You are 25 feet into Unclearable Fog Marsh Two!> The Rotom announced, sliding one glowing blue tentacle over the map with a flourish. <Misthenge Village is directly east!> "And which way are we pointing?" Cerb asked. <East!> "Meh, good enough." The teen snapped the device shut on Frequency's squeal and shoved it back into her pocket, looking at the space between Epona's ears for a visual check and then glancing nervously again at the large thing. "I guess we'll just see if we can outrun it. It's a straight shot from here, Epona." The big Arcanine barked softly as Cerb rewound her fingers into the dog's mane and hunkered down again. "Delphi's counting on you." Epona managed a breathy bark before she was off again, paws drumming firmly against the firmer earth. Squinting between her ears, Cerb was confused by a faint glow emitting around the dog's nose before she realized that the Arcanine was panting embers into the air for a light source. Trusting Epona to guide herself, the teen snuggled back down into the furry mane and resumed trying not to fall off, which would suck greatly. |

.3 (Sorry if it seems short, brain's kinda fried but I had an idea.)Delphi [ ] 74/141 ![]() As Epona and Cerby traveled through the dense fog, the dark shape faded off into the distance. It didn't seem to be following the trainer, which meant that it wasn't a hostile creature and it was one less thing for the trainer to worry about. But more thuds seemed to sound from around the trainer. Perhaps the shapes, whatever they were, were traveling in a pair, or a small group? As the Arcanine traveled on, the sounds seemed to come from up ahead. Louder and louder they seemed to become until suddenly, from out of the fog came the looming figure of a brown sauropod pokemon. Epona let out a yelp as she tried to stop herself in time. Her paws slid on the ground as she jumped to the side, and out of the pokemon's way. What was this thing that had come out of nowhere? As Epona landed off to the side of the pokemon, she bared her teeth, just in case the pokemon decided to attack out of fear and anger. "Troooo!" the Tropius roared as it reared up on its hind legs. It was startled at the Arcanine's sudden appearance. It wasn't used to seeing things running around the foggy marsh like that. The pokemon's front feet came down with an earth-shaking slam, its neck swerving around to glare that the pokemon who had almost ran into him. Watching the Arcanine with narrowed eyes, the Tropius growled low and began to back away slowly, ready to make a move if the Arcanine did anything sudden.

.3 ![]() Currently: Unclearable Fog Marsh 2 -> Misthenge Delphi [ ] 71/141-- Cerb had thought they were leaving their mysterious fog companions behind, but apparently not. She nearly went over Epona's nose when the Arcanine screeched to a stop and leaped out of the way, leaving her scrabbling for a handhold on the dog's back. "Woahwoahwoah, easy Epona!" Somewhere between scrabbling madly at the dog's leg with her foot and pulling on the fluffy mane to get back into position, Cerb peered up cautiously at this brown and green thing that the Arcanine was growling warily at. It looked...somewhat familiar. "...'s just a Tropius, I think," she said, hearing her Pokedex ping from somewhere in her pocket. "'s not gonna hurt us, Epona. Calm down," Epona slowly backed up and whuffed, her tongue lolling out of her mouth in a nervous pant as she studied this big brown thing that looked just as scared as them. She had a feeling she could probably eat it, but there was no reason to and they were still in a bit of a hurry. "Sooorry, buddy. We've kinda got an emergency poison case here," Cerb pulled out her Poketech to consult Frequency and his compass once again, just in case all Epona's jumping around got them mixed up direction wise. The teen nudged Epona back into the correct direction with her knees and stowed the device again, wrapping her fingers back into the dog's mane and wincing. All this deathgripping was making her hands sore. "Man I need some sort of saddle... oh well. Mush, Epona." Aaaaand off they ran again. If Epona had some sort of sirens they would be glowing and screeching to warn things to git'out the way. |
