"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
|
My first pick this month is Jance who's stepped up and done a great job modding the house and lab threads. Though not always a rewarding task, giving new members a positive first experience with the RPG is what usually makes or breaks a newb. I'm happy to say that many of the folks modded by Jance this month are still around! Which is alot more than I can say for myself when I mod that area. So yay for Jance! I'd also like to nominate Shugo as a personal thank you for modding me this month. I'm one of those repulsive people with the brick threads that are just annoying to read. Shugo hopped right in there and took over without flinching. I've seen him helping out with his fair share of mods across the boards as well, so I know I'm not the only one he's helped. These two people have done an awesome job modding and hopping in where they're needed, but they've also helped us out by voicing their opinions in the mod forum when a new discussion topic comes up. It's easy to think that your opinion or idea doesn't matter to us if it isn't agreed with, or used word for word. But without your thoughts and feelings on questions and concerns posted there, we would have a much poorer perspective of what's happening on the board. Your opinion matters so thank you for taking an active role in the behind the scenes workings of Legacy. A big thank you to the folks who helped get the new Mibbit chat up and running. While it's not as awesome as the old chat, its much easier for new people to hop in and say hi, get help, or whatever. Legacy just isn't the same without the ability to BS in a chat room so if you haven't tried it out yet, you don't know what you're missing. <end mav commercial> Edited by Maverick, Apr 23 2010, 08:58 PM.

My vote - again - goes to two members. The first member in mind is CountThe Petals: though only recently having become a Temp mod, I can see from the posts in Little Hillmoss lab that this person is keen and determined to make sure new members have a pleasant 'first' roleplay in this site. I can see this temp mod does their best not to leave any new member out, no matter who they are. Thus, for the determination which you put to making sure new members get a postive vibe from this place: Count The Petals, I salute thee! The second is Kari. Why? You need look no further than every single one of her current tourament posts to see how good she is at writing, and when she mods - she makes you really feel like you're in a grand epic tale. She is also constant in her moderation - even when busy, she keeps active in both modding and her own journey, which is no small feat. Thus, for being a constant shining example of awesome, epic win writing and faithfulness to duites: Kari, I salute thee! |

*My current avatar was not made by me - it was found on bulbagarden. Also, credit for the EPIC WIN Darucho sprite goes to the very talented Nyro, not me.*![]() 'I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I am not bound to succeed but I am bound to live the best life that I have. I must stand with anybody that stands right and part from him when he goes wrong.' - Abraham Lincoln. Current APL: 15.8 Current GenExp: 27.0 *Currently waiting for Black and White Pokemon to be intergrated before getting mod for Tournament Mystery Egg.* Darucho's current benefits: 16 Fame points = Good natured Pokemon join Darucho's team more easily.40 Fame Points = Darucho's eggs hatch in three less posts.TOTAL POINT LEVEL = 45. Pokemon from Lvl 61 - 70 and lower will listen to Darucho, unless their current happiness enables him to battle with Pokemon of a slightly higher level. The Forest of Fury isn't 'angry' anymore: at least for him, anyway, due to him and his friends making many sacrifices to help the forest out. ~ Darucho's Profile ~ ~ Janet Corrida - Darucho's Rival's Profile ~ Spoiler: click to toggle

Awesome.

So we get two nominees, eh? First goes to Kari because of many of the reasons Luigi already listed. Her stories are imaginative and involving. They literally suck you into them and the sheer amount of detail in the majority of her posts is staggering. That, and she mods quite a bit which is never a bad thing. Second will go to CountThePedals just because of her eagerness to jump in, get involved, and the quality of her posts are quite good; I've modded her a few times and she makes her story interesting to read. |

My nomination this month goes to poweroverwhelming2. Though they just started here on Legacy, their posts and story have been intriguing. Most new members I tend to notice will have shorter posts, and characters that think they're hot stuff (myself included back in the day). poweroverwhelming2 gives her character a story and a personality, and delves into that. She posts more than just a reaction and a battle command. I see poweroverwhelming2 as a very promising rookie trainer and RPer here on Legacy. I honestly want to see what happens to her character and where her story will lead to. I also nominate her on the grounds that not all nominations have to be mods or a similar rank. Granted, the mods are the ones that get more face time (their journey, mod posts, etc.) and are easily noticed on a daily basis, but a member shouldn't have to have a position in order to be noticed, especially when they have potential to be one of the great future mods... Yes, I agree, there are a number of very spectacular mods we have here on Legacy, but if all that are going to be nominated every month are Mods, then why not just call this Moderator of the Month? |

I'd probably say Glaix. Since her return she's jumped right into the modding scene and been very good about helping get our newbies through the grasslands which can be a rather menial task. Shugo would be my next choice. They've been pretty on the ball keeping the Forgotten Threads list low and jumping in on the newbie areas as well. |

'Cuz I have not nominated last month, and 'cuz I don't feel like going against the system or something like that. (Though I do still prefer the previous system cuz it recognizes talents in not one, but different fields. I hate weighing two completely different categories - should I vote for the one that writes better, or value the person that mods more?) -<3 Shugo! for actively modding people! That, and for being a sport and not barking at me for not modding. Unlike... never mind. *Ish still sorta sore* -<3 CountThePetals! for that extremely gripping first NOTE: Something just hit me from 35285720 miles away. Fordy, please put in the month so that we won't get confused in time to come =3 (since we're probably sticking to this MotM thing for quite a while I think.) Edited by Kari, May 3 2010, 09:33 AM.
