Well, that egg harness was a complete waste of money. Okay, maybe it wasn't a complete waste of money, since she'd be able to use it later on their trip, and she could be using it now were she not so paranoid. There was just something about letting her egg hang down below the top of the grass that made her uncomfortable, the mental image of some kind of hungry, or maybe just maternal, pokemon spiriting it away someplace haunting her mind. Despite the fact that she'd never wanted the nidoran egg in the first place, she'd quickly become protective of it. So there Celeste was, wading through four foot high grass with her arms wrapped around a violet egg, along with a chatot and pikachu happily using her shoulders as a perch. Hunter she was used to, despite the fact that he had a bad habit of hanging on too tightly with his talons when stressed. Their newest addition, however, didn't seem to be able to stop moving around, whether it was squirming in place, leaning over to peer at the egg, or crawling onto her new trainer's head to look at something. Finally, the electric type let out a dramatic sigh and flopped down on the shoulder with a bland, "Pika." That was the point that Celeste decided was best for conversation. After giving a quick glance above her at Sting, trying not to think too much about what would happen if the beedrill lost his grip on the potted berry tree while right above her head like that, she smiled at the pikachu and started in a conversational manner, "So, Shannon said in the letter that she named you 'Jupiter?'" An ear flicked and Juptier let out a deadpan, "Pika." "It suits you," she commented, "Powerful." That earned a small smile from her new friend, so she continued. "Shannon doesn't usually name pokemon. You must have impressed her if she thought you stood out enough to warrant one." In truth, it was probably just because there had been more than one pikachu running around, a convenient nickname to quickly tell the difference between 'the one I want Celeste to have' and all the rest. However, Jupiter was responding to the flattery, perking up and looking smug. "I take it you want to keep it?" A nod. "I don't think I could come up with a better one, anyway." She turned her attention to Hunter. He'd been listening in, like always, ready to translate, but was quiet. He and Celeste hadn't spoken about Floyd and his actions around the afforementioned alien, and it was starting to turn into a real donphan in the living room. Hunter knew he'd been wrong about Floyd, but he either didn't want to or didn't know how to apologize, and Celeste wasn't the 'I-told-you-so' type so she simply let the subject hang there in limbo. "Hunter?" He perked up and looked at her curiously, though she felt his talons tightening involuntarily. "It's okay." She could practically feel Juptier's blank expression focused on her, but she didn't care to explain herself to the pikachu. Hunter knew what she meant, though, and relaxed. "Could you scout out ahead, buddy? I'm looking for a skitty, but it's kind of hard to see anything out here." Hunter nodded eagerly. He had an idea of what skitty looked like from Celeste's books, and so he took off. Instead of flying up, though, he skimmed the top of the high grass, peering down into the foliage for one of the elusive pink feline creatures. Jupiter made a face, knowing far more about those feline pokemon than she cared to, and idly groomed her fur, sparks snapping through the air and making Celeste a little more uncomfortable than she already was. Celeste cast a look at the nearby Forest of Fury, gripped her egg tighter, glanced up at Sting again, and followed Hunter, taking each step very carefully just in case there was something underfoot. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Planned Route: 4 Foot Grass 2 ---> (Hillmoss Grasslands) Hilly Area 1 ---> Grassland 2 ---> Rose Town Looking For: Skitty (female, preferably) Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 1/11, Watering 1/3 Nidoran Egg: 1/20 for Jupiter/Hunter?

.3 1 for each, sure. The grass was quite tall, indeed. It was hard to tell why nobody bothered mowing it, but it at least wasn't like above head hight, so it was still possible to see where one was headed. A minor plus, sure, but still, any plus was still a plus. Especially as anything smaller than four feet tall or so could sneak up on people sooo easily here... Good reason to be jumpy, that. A sudden screech resounded from somewhere to the left of the group, impossible to pinpoint the source, with a stiff breeze causing all the grass to sway back and forth. But they definitely weren't alone, in this... Whatever it was was either full of mischief, malice, or boredom, as silence reigned once more after the sudden earsplitting cry, as if whatever it was was now waiting to see what the human and her companions did. |

0.2 ![]() Celeste froze in place, standing straight up as a scream broke through the air. Hunter squawked and tumbled into the tall grass while Jupiter's ears shot up and Sting stopped in his tracks, buzzing faintly as he hovered. The sound ended as soon as it started, and Celeste took in a deep breath before looking in the direction she thought it had come from. The trees of the Forest of Fury loomed in the distance, and she loathed to get any closer to them than she was already. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, depending on what they would find, Jupiter sprung off of her shoulder perch and took off running with a great rustling of grass. Hunter flailed his way into the air again and merely hovered there in shock as Celeste tore after her impulsive pikachu, calling her name. Any attempts to get her to turn around were in vain, but luckily the pikachu wasn't trying to be subtle in her chase. Celeste gripped the egg in her arms protectively, racing as fast as she could without endangering it. Hunter and Sting easily kept up with her, even with Sting carrying the berry pot, but Jupiter seemed determined to find whatever had decided to grab their attention. Celeste, and perhaps even Jupiter herself, had no idea what she'd do when they found it, though, if they found it at all. Maybe that was why Jupiter was chasing it in the first place. Hunting a mystery was much more fun than eggsitting. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 2/11, Watering 2/3 Nidoran Egg: 2/20 |

.3 Jupiter wove through the long blades of grass, presenting a difficult target for her trainer to follow. Still, Celeste managed well enough, as Jupiter's quarry didn't seem to be making too much effort to be silent about its retreat. Abruptly, the grass opened up slightly, as a large, flat rock squatted in the dirt, making it kind of impossible for the grass to grow in that location. It was lucky that Celeste was tall enough to see it over the grass and stop in time, as the waving stalks and lound rustles of the two she was chasing circled around it. And then, with a flash of tawny fur, followed by a streak of yellow, pikachu and mystery screecher leapt to the top of the rock, squaring off against each other for a moment. "Meeeowth." However, a moment later the feline sat down, boredly licking at one paw to remove a touch of dirt that had dared to mar his coat, blithely ignoring both trainer, rat and bird as if they weren't there. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lv. 1854/54 ![]() ~ Pretending Celeste and co. don't exist |

0.3 ![]() To her credit, Celeste was getting used to chasing her pokemon all over the place, and this wasn't a humid jungle, so she didn't collapse upon stopping running. She saw Jupiter glaring at her quarry, a wild meowth, and there was a single, tense moment before the feline suddenly sat down and began to groom, leaving Jupiter standing there on the rock on all fours, blinking in bewilderment. "Pika? Pika!" "Wha? Hey!" Jupiter's fur bristled in indignation as the cat ignored her, sparkings snapping and crackling from her bright red cheeks. The nerve of that meowth. Maybe she should let loose a Thunderbolt and light him up like a Christmas tree. After all, Celeste had only expressed an interest in finding a skitty, so anything else was training fodder as far as Jupiter was concerned. Celeste, though, had a very different idea in mind. As Hunter took his usual place on her shoulder and Sting descended into the grass behind them, presumably to tend to the Charti plant, she gave a small whistle to catch Jupiter's attention. The pikachu pricked up her ears and looked over, then flattened them as her trainer gestured for her to return to her side. Jupiter gave a surprisingly cat-like hiss, then obeyed, returning to a two-legged stance and walking over to flop to the ground next to Celeste's feet, grumbling. Celeste eyed the meowth with interest. The species had been on her want list, along with a number of other feline pokemon, but she'd intended to save her meowth hunt for the Hillmoss Grasslands so she wouldn't spend her whole day wading through this high grass. Now, however, there was a healthy, decently powerful member of the species right in front of her that, while not 'friendly' exactly, was clearly unafraid of her and her entourage. Though, she probably would have prefered a female, if only to avoid conflict with Ace, her glameow. Then again, if not conflicting with Ace, they would probably conflict with someone else, since more of her pokemon than she liked had short tempers and strong prejudices. There was no perfect solution, so Celeste figured that she might as well roll the dice with this meowth and see what numbers came up. If all else failed, maybe he at least knew some pokemon who would be interested in coming with her. First thing was first, and that meant getting his attention. Having a slight grasp of feline pride, activing trying to capture his interest would be fruitless and only serve as amusement, and impatiently waiting for him to finish grooming and aknowledge them would be more of the same. So, she merely set her egg in its pouch, making sure it was in there snugly, and then shrugged off her pack and started searching through it. "Hey Jupiter," she said cheerily to her grumbling rodent, "Want lunch?" Jupiter hopped up instantly, looking up at the peanut butter and jelly sandwich Celeste was unwrapping. She knelt down and extended it to the pikachu, who quickly snatched it up and began nibbling away. She giggled and grabbed another for Hunter, who flew over to join Jupiter. She then pulled out a plain peanut butter sandwich to set aside for Sting once he was finished with whatever he was doing, then, with a knowing smile, retrieved a tuna sandwich for herself. Looking as nonchalant was possible, Celeste just barely perched on the edge of the rock farthest from the meowth, turned so that she could just barely see him out of the corner of her eye. She unwrapped the sandwich, letting the delicious scent of tuna and a hint of green onion waft along on the breeze, and took a bite, giving their feline friend a taste of his own medicine as she pretended that he wasn't there. If he wasn't at least tempted to drop the act and approach her, he simply wasn't a meowth. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 3/11, Watering 3/3 <watered> Nidoran Egg: 3/20 for Jupiter?

.3 One hindleg hoisted into the air as the cat contorted, continuing to bathe off all the specks of whatever that plagued it. Pikachu germs, maybe. Still, as Celeste expected, he paid not the slightest mind, even as the beedrill swooped past, to tend the tree. Sandwiches were doled out, as he continued putting his fur back in order. (1/2 a for the pikachu so far) One ear flicked slightly, as if trying to rid itself of a fly as the human sat down. She had her back turned, however, so apparently she knew better than to try and make silly noises at him to try and get him to come over. One point, anyhow, in her favor. She pulled out another of those silly brown things she'd been sharing with her pokemon as he nipped at his shoulder, delicately, to remove the beginnings of a tangle in the fur there. The scent of fish wafted through the air. A nose twitched, and a tail started swishing. It was a tail that needed a bath. BADLY. The cat pinned the offending appendage down rather abruptly, grooming with vigorous force. He wasn't interested in this silly human and her silly brown food thing that smelled of-so-delectably of fish... Tail. Bath. YES. Bath... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lv. 1854/54 ![]() ~Totally not interested in that sandwich. WE SWEAR. REALLY. |

0.3 ![]() Celeste saw what effect her actions were having on her little feline friend and smirked, holding back the urge to chuckle. Cats knew if they were being laughed at, so laughing was bad, and luckily he wouldn't be able to see her amused expression, especially while he was grooming his tail. She took another bite of her tuna sandwich, a small bite, and sighed contentedly, as if it tasted even better than it smelled; Celeste was more than willing to wait him out, because, frankly, if she could out-stubborn a glameow, a meowth was child's play. A buzzing caught her attention and she watched as Sting temporarily rose out of the grass and hovered nearby. Knowing what he wanted, Celeste scooped up the peanut butter sandwich and gave it an underhand toss. "Here you go, buddy," she said with a smile, and the beedrill swooped to catch it between his arm spines. Sting then returned to his plant, clearly content to tend to it for as long as required. Celeste took another bite of her sandwich, trying to eat as slowly as possible. If this took longer than expected, she did have a second tuna sandwich, but she'd rather not be that obvious. It was a waiting game, a contest of wills... Jupiter was bored. Mouth smeared with peanut butter and strawberry jelly, crumbs covering her torso, the pikachu scampered right over and crawled into her new trainer's lap. If you're just going to sit here, the look on her face seemed to say, you might as well do something. Celeste giggled a bit. "Well, look at you, girl. Com'ere, let's clean you up a little." Very aware of what she was doing, Celeste placed her partially-eaten tuna sandwich down beside her, then scooped up Jupiter and grabbed a cloth out of her pack. There was no water nearby to soak it in, but it would work well enough to wipe off the remnants of her lunch. Holding Jupiter with one arm, she gently wiped the peanut butter from her face, then brushed the crumbs off of her front, pausing to scratch her tummy. Maybe it looked a little bit infantile, but Jupiter didn't seem to mind; in fact, she puffed up a little in pride at being pampered. If there was any doubt that being with a trainer was the 'good life,' it was gone. Celeste wasn't really thinking too much about what she was doing, her mind instead on the sandwich she'd left behind. It wasn't even half-eaten, and the young woman had a feeling her opponent was at his breaking point. Scratching Jupiter's ears idly, and earning an appreciative chatter for her trouble, she merely waited for him to give in and grab the fishy treat. She wondered what it said about her that she found this just as fun as an actual pokemon battle. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 4/11, Watering 1/3 Nidoran Egg: 4/20 Another 1/2 for Jupiter?

.3 ![]() That cat continued to groom, almost stubbornly ignoring Celeste and her little family. Even the squeaking Pikachu was easily ignored, thought the yellow rat was certainly enjoying herself. (Take the other half a heart~) The cat had a finely groomed tail now, and nothing else to clean. But still, he licked and straightened his fur, nose still twitching. If there was anything that anybody loved, it was food. Everyone loves food, and hungry wild critters can only ignore it for so long. You almost had to admire the cats stubbornness. He lasted another minute or so before finally looking up at the food. Not at the trainer, at the food. Because as far as he was concerned, there was only the food and no trainer. So with that thought firmly in his furry mind, the cat walked right over and just took the sandwich. Celeste didn't even get a glance as he calmly walked back to his 'spot' and sat down to ravage the fish.. Had to get that funny brown stuff out of the way first... and the wrapper, if there was one... aha! Fishy goodness. So yeah, the cat totally just stole your food and molested your sandwich. 0.2 ![]() She was going to do absolutely nothing. At least, not right away. Celeste grinned like a fool as the meowth took her sandwich. The fish had taken the bait, and now it was time for the hook. Jupiter looked at her smiling trainer oddly, but didn't get an explanation, instead being gently set back down on the ground before Celeste went for her pack. She pulled out her second tuna sandwich, then contemplated her food supply for a moment before grabbing a pair of granola bars. She unwrapped one and handed it to Jupiter, since she was clearly a hungry little thing, and tucked the other away in her pocket for later. Then, lifting it carefully out of its pouch, she thrust her nidoran egg into Jupiter's grasp. The Pikachu merely stared with a look that said, 'what am I supposed to do with this?' Celeste shrugged back and strolled back over toward their feline friend, trusting her to figure it out. Hunter, finally finished his own sandwich, fluttered over to look at the egg, and Jupiter was glad to push it toward him and start to nibble on her granola bar. Hunter looked at the egg. "What exactly are we supposed to do with this?" Jupiter shrugged. "You're a bird, right? Birds sit on eggs." "Girl birds, Juptier." "Your point?" "You're hilarious," he deadpanned. "Why don't you sit on it? Pikachu do that too, don't they?" As the two babysitter's conversation devolved into heated bickering, Celeste hovered behind the wild meowth until she was sure he was finished with the sandwich. Then she sat down behind him, smiling craftily. "Good, huh?" she asked, fully expecting to be ignored. She'd only said it to make her presence known before dangling the second sandwich in front of his face. "I've got another. Completely untouched, plus a wrapper for easy transport to a more private dining area if desired. It's got your name on it..." She then snatched it away; if he looked at the sandwich now, he'd be forced to look at her too as she held it protectively. "If you help me out a little. You look like someone who knows who's who around here." She scooted a little further away, idly fussing with the wrapper but not opening it. "Of course, if you're not interested, I understand. We'll move on, leave you to hunting your own food. Tracking, pursuing, fighting, risking injury...Not that that's a bad thing, of course. Builds character. Sharp claws, sharp reflexes, sharp mind. I understand if you don't want the free fish." She waited a moment, appearing to only be half-watching him. She'd consider it a good fight if he rejected her now, and really did plan to simply move on if he did so, but she felt she had a pretty good hook on her line right now. And Hunter and Jupiter were arguing about something over there, nearly making Celeste smack her forehead. .3 ((Sorry for the wait, guess I should check the forgotten threads more often D=))The feline stared at you, eyes searching, its claws flexing where it sat. It was obviously annoyed at your taunting, but it wasn't desperate enough to attack to you get at it. Not yet, at least. The more you rambled on, though, the higher the temptation to do so became. In fact, you stopped talking just in time, his nails extended fully and tail whipping through the air behind him. A whiff of the wrapped sandwich took that frustration away. He stood, mewling softly as he rubbed his way between your legs, purring. He continue to weave, tail ticking your waist, obviously wishing to come along with you and your party in order to receive your offering of pure deliciousness. Or not. He sprang from his new position, latching onto your side with a yowl of determination, talons ripping into your clothes and flesh in his determination to get at the food. Treating you as nothing more than a tree, he climbed around you, his font half hanging over your shoulder as he swiped at the plastic wrapping, hissing all the while.

0.3 ![]() Rule number one: Never take anything a cat says or does at face value. Celeste had certainly not expected to be attacked, mostly because she didn't think this meowth was so suicidal as to try. However, she hadn't expected any friendliness, either, and she already knew he wasn't being genuine when he came over to her purring. That was why Celeste flew to her feet when he leapt, holding her sandwich as high as possible, and she screamed as she was slashed at, "Sting, get him!" She jerked left and right like a bucking tauros, trying to dislodge or otherwise hinder her clawed assailant, but went stock still as soon as she saw her white knight rising out of tall grass and turned so that he had a clear shot at the cat. Sting rose up with his watering can hanging from one of his arms, compound eyes practically glowing in fury. The watering can tumbled to the ground, and he tore forward, the buzzing of his wings deafening as he pulled back an arm spike and tried to dig it as deeply into the cat's flesh as he could, injecting venom. Then, if he was somehow still awake and hanging on, Sting would begin mercilessly pounding him with his arm stingers. Jupiter wasn't one to sit around when there was fighting to be had, and as soon as Sting started flying at them, the pikachu took careful aim and let loose a burst of paralyzing electricity to give him an easier target. Couldn't have him skewering the trainer, after all. Hunter knew better than to get between Sting and an opponent, and reluctantly hung behind to shield the egg. --- Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 6/11, Watering 3/3 <watered> Nidoran Egg: 6/20 --- Lvl 15 30/30 [Thunder Wave] Lvl 22 66/66 [Poison Jab --> Fury Attack] vs Lvl 1854/54 [Shredding Celeste] Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Mar 1 2010, 07:44 PM.

.3 ![]() The Meowth was too greedy to listen to your words. He heard the faint buzzing in the air, felt the sudden charge of electricity within his fur, but surely the pokemon would not attack him, not when he hung on so tightly to their precious trainer. Whoops. He went still when the surge of electric current passed through his body, his coat standing on end as the mouses attack left him paralyzed, unable to do anything but watch from the corner of his slitted eyes as his assailant closed the distance between them. With a forced whimper on contact, his body fell, bouncing off the earth with a dull thud, immobile save for his twitching tail. The gaping wound where Beedrill had struck taking on a hideous purple that began to spread from its epicenter. Poisoned. The cat was regaining movement in him limbs when Sting struck once again, the sharp-tipped extremities pounding into him once more before he was able to fend him off on the forth strike, claws outstretched as he slashed outward, catching the insect on his large underbelly, cringing as the poisoned sucked away at his life.

0.3 ![]() Buzzing louder in a way that almost sounded like a snarl, Sting pulled back at the feeling of sharp claws tearing at his abdomen. That was Jupiter's cue to race forward, sparks flying from her body as she built up as much energy as she could, preparing to send it all pouring into the meowth's body. A foot in her path stopped her in her tracks. "Don't." The single word was firm and commanding, and Jupiter couldn't help but stare up at Celeste in bewilderment. "He's had enough." Jupiter's ears shot straight up. "Enough?!" Hunter didn't leave the egg, but his voice still piped up in agreement. "He hurt you." Celeste sucked in a sharp breath, as if just then feeling the aftermath of the meowth's attacks. A hand gingerly touched the bleeding wounds as she stated in that same calm, firm voice, "Yes, he did. And he's already gotten worse." "Gotta be kidding me..." Jupiter grumbled, letting her built-up electricity fizzle away. Sting flew over and hovered next to Celeste, buzzing softly in concern. Celeste just waved him toward where he had left the plant. "I'm fine, buddy. Really. I'll get it looked at in town, okay? Just keep an eye on the Charti; I'll call again if I needja." Sting nodded and flew back to where he had left his plant, diving into the deep grass and leaving the meowth to lay on the rock and be consumed by his venom. Celeste looked at the paralyzed meowth, studying him. All it would take would be a snap of her fingers, and Jupiter would be sending the Thunderbolt of his life through his body. Hopefully the stubborn little cat had gotten it through his thick skull that things weren't going to go his way, because, despite the pain he'd caused her, Celeste felt bad leaving him to rot. He was easy prey for any predator willing to risk tainted meat, of which there were probably many in the Wildlands. He maybe deserved a good kick, but he didn't deserve to die. "Are you quite finished?" she said in the voice of an annoyed adult to a tempermental child, moving a little closer but still ready to dodge if he tried to start a second round. The cat was angry, yet, but not stupid enough to risk his life for his pride. No, he would not fight back, not when the odds were stacked against him. And so he extended a paw, his claws retracting as he gently stretched out to lay it against the side of your shoe. Mewing, he stared, sad eyes showing his defeat as he sought help. It seems he has definitely learned his lesson. You'd best hurry, though, if you wished to save him before the poison finished him off. 0.2 ![]() Celeste's cold expression immediately faded as the meowth stared up at her, changing to a look of concern. She didn't need any further encouragement than that to grab her pack and start going through it, ignoring her pain. Jupiter merely stared as she pulled out an Antidote and crouched down in front of the meowth, unable to comprehend the fact that her trainer was actually going to use medicines, medicines that cost money, to heal damage inflicted in self-defense. The pikachu just gave her head a shake, and looked at Hunter, who shrugged and smiled. "You get used to it." Celeste wasn't paying attention to the exchange, too focused on the meowth. She bit her lip at the sight of the wound and the way the poison was affecting him. In the heat of battle, with adrenaline coursing through the pokemon, there was only a wince, maybe a sign of nausea, and that was it. Seeing the damage inflicted up close outside of battle made her feel ill and somewhat disgusted with herself, though she hadn't really intended for Sting to attack in the manner he did. She gave the Antidote bottle a small shake, an habit she was sure did nothing to help anything but she did anyway, and then squeezed its trigger. "This'll hurt a bit," she warned, before the stream of orange liquid hit the wound, seeping in and coursing through his bloodstream to destroy all traces of the poison. It also doubled as an extremely strong disinfectant, if Celeste was remembering properly. It also cost her 100z at the Pokemart. The immediate crisis averted, Celeste was a bit less frantic as she went on a search for the remaining medicines. "I should have something to help with that paralysis, too. Just give me a secon--Here it is!" She pulled out a small, white leaf and laid it close to his paw, though she was prepared to move it closer if his muscles chose that moment to lock up. "A white herb. Just eat it and that should loosen your muscles again." White herbs cured every kind of status, a natural Full Heal, not to mention they weren't supposed to have the same bitter taste of most herbal remedies. 500z, only available at three different locations in the whole region, and she only had two. She then pulled out another bottle, differently shaped and a bright blue-purple. "And this should fix up those injuries some...Shame they don't work on humans." She gave an involunary wince as she reminded herself of the claw marks on her torso, visible through her shredded shirt. She sprayed it gingerly, letting the medicine form an evenly covering mist that settled on the stab wounds Sting had inflicted and boosted his natural healing in a single burst, playing the part of encouraging clotting, a bit of extra disinfecting, and partial mending of the injuries, along with a good dose of painkilling. She let out a faint 'hmm' and considered getting another, but she didn't want to risk making him ill by giving him too many in a sitting. That was another 200z. She'd just spent 800z fixing up a pokemon that had tried to turn her into confetti. Celeste was seriously considering making Jasmine a permanent part of her team now, since the chikorita was pretty much a walking Full Heal. She got up slowly, wincing slightly but smiling. "There. A little extra rest, and it'll be like it never happened." However, there was the question of the sandwich, the thing that had triggered the whole brawl in the first place. Tossed into the bag in favour of the life-saving medicines, she pulled it out again. "Okay, Meowth," she said, holding the tuna sandwich and ready to jump back and call her pokemon should he get any bright ideas. "Here's what I'm proposing. I'm looking for cat pokemon, skitty and meowth like yourself to be exact. You obviously know the area better than I would, and know the residents. You introduce me to a member of either species that you think might like to come with me, and you get half the sandwich no matter what happens. If they actually agree to come along, you get the other half. Sound like a deal?" --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 8/11, Watering 2/3 Nidoran Egg: 8/20 --- Using Antidote, White Herb, and Potion on: Lvl 1819/54 Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Mar 4 2010, 10:09 AM.

.3 ![]() Everything had gone to hell really fast, but changed back to some degree of normal just as fast... as if there is anything like normal in the Opaddeka region... The cat was happy to have the poison gone, and pleasantly surprised at the healing of the paralysis, but the potion was a surprise. He shook off once everything was said and done, flattening his fur and watching her cautiously. It wasn't a normal thing for trainers to do... especially considering the situation. Not like he was complaining, but now he kind of felt bad. He considered his options once she finished talking, scratching his chin. Obviously he wanted that sandwich. And the trainer had healed him... damn it. The cat wasn't used to getting guilt tripped. So, the cat sighed, looking at Celeste, and gestured with his head for her to follow him. Yeah, he knew a few other cool cats out here... Lvl 18 39/54 *just got guilt tripped. >:* Follow me... |

0.2 ![]() Celeste really wasn't an ordinary trainer, and she'd expected a certain amount of surprise on the meowth's part. After all, plenty of people would have finished him off, captured him or, if they particularly cruel, left him to be eaten away by the poison. She didn't condem people who didn't use hard-earned money on wilds, especially ones who attacked first, but she couldn't imagine not helping him as best she could if it was accepted. There was also the added bonus of guilting the wild cat into helping her out. His sigh and gesture made her grin, and then wince when her side sent a stab of pain shoot through her. "Okay, just a second." She started going through her pack again, pulling out a slightly-baggy black T-shirt. It would look kind of strange negotiating with wild pokemon with a shredded shirt and bleeding cuts, after all. "Sting! We're moving!" she called before she started pulling off her shirt, and Sting rose up again with a freshly-watered plant in his grasp, his buzzing much softer than the roar it had been before. Jupiter darted after the meowth, disappearing into the tall grass, and Sting flew after. Celeste looked at the ripped-up tank-top, sighed, and wrapped it around her torso, tying it tightly. It would make a reasonable bandage until she got things checked out in Rose Town, and it wouldn't be visible under the T-shirt. Note to self: get a proper First Aid kit for my pack. Thank Arceus he hadn't shredded her bra, too; even if she'd hear anything human-sized long before they saw her in this place, she was in a hurry and didn't need to replace more than one garment. One egg transfered to its proper place in her pouch, one pack on her back, and one chatot on her shoulder, and she hopped over the grass-flattening rock (her side really hated that, and she vowed not to do it again) and waded back into the four foot grass. Sting slowed down and took his place at the back of their little party, by now knowing how frightening he could seem to other pokemon, or at least being aware that she prefered he stayed back, which left her following the movement and sounds of the wild meowth and her own pikachu. Kind of like the chase that started this, she thought idly. She really hoped she didn't need to go through the same kind of fiasco to get whomever Meowth showed her to come with her. She also really hoped he was bringing her to a girl cat. She'd take either, but introducing Ace would be a heck of a lot easier if they were female. The egg in her pouch was his, after all, and its mother was one of few pokemon you could say he was civil with. Not that she wanted a bunch of baby skitty and meowth running around, mind you. "You really trust this guy?" Hunter asked, casting a glance at the rustling that was most likely being caused by their guide. Celeste blinked at him. "Sure. Why wouldn't I?" Hunter looked at her oddly, then looked away and mumbled something, not answering her question. She had a sinking feeling that 'because he's a cat' was at the top of his list of reasons. Somehow idea of having more pokemon meaning more of them having enough in common to get along wasn't looking as plausable anymore. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 9/11, Watering 3/3 <watered> Nidoran Egg: 9/20 Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Mar 5 2010, 07:46 PM.

.3 ![]() The felines lead you through the wild lands, a hissing grumble floating back your tickle at your ears as he mutters his disappointment for having been forced into such a task in such a hurtful way. Humans. Always luring him and then beating him up when he doesnt cooperate. Bah! Not in any hurry to introduce you to his comrades anytime soon, he takes you on a detour, one that takes you on quite the tour. If you were paying close enough attention, you might have noticed the slight signs of being led in a very crafty figure eight like pattern, the Meowth being sure not to pass by an identifiable landmarks, and careful not to make the turns too blatantly obvious. Eventually, though, a good forty five minutes later, he grew tired of this, and reset the course toward The Katnip Klub Taking you through a well-disguised opening in a wall of brush, you came upon a nifty little notch, the outer circle made up into beds made with leaves and moss, while the inner ring boasted a round stone table. Four felines were seated around this table, all staring at you with something akin to disgust, a tad bit of anger thrown into the mix when they noticed who it was that led you to their secret paradise.

0.2 ![]() "Still sure we can trust this guy?" Hunter inquired in a way that Celeste thought sounded a bit smug after the first fifteen minutes. Her claw wounds bothered her with every step, making her wish she'd found a meowth less inclined to violent outbursts. Honestly, he stole one of her sandwiches and she did nothing, she offered a deal to get a second, he attacked her rather than, say, putting together a counter-offer, she defended herself and then healed him of most of the damage she'd caused, before, rather than merely walking away, once again offering a deal to give him food. By Arceus, she was being a freaking saint from her point of view, and she could hear his grumbling ahead of her from here. Hunter's question simply further shortened her rapidly-shortening temper. "Yes," she squeezed out between clenched teeth, "I still think he's trustworthy." A half our and counting, Jupiter got bored with following their guide and used a burst of her magnetic controlling abilities to propel herself onto Celeste's shoulder, startling the trainer so badly she nearly feel over. She scrambled to keep her balance and hissed in pain at her scratches. Knowing her luck, the flesh was probably starting to stick to the fabric of her makeshift bandage, which was going to make treatment all the harder in town. "He's leading us in circles," Hunter announced, but using the exact same voice as Jupiter's previous grumbling from her shoulder. Celeste knew he was merely translating and looked at her pikachu, who was looking at the grass rustling of their guide with disgust. She didn't answer right away, pulling out her Poketech and accessing its map function. After looking at the screen for a few minutes, she gave Jupiter a small pat on the head. "He's not leading us in circles," Celeste insisted with a light, amused tone in her voice. He's leading us in figure eights, she added in her mind, resisting the urge to shoot a glare at the cat herself. If he thought he was getting a full belly this way, he was out of his mind. -- Forty five minutes, and three very grumpy travellers (and one completely indifferent beedrill contently tending to his berry plant) finally saw some new scenery. She followed the meowth through the hidden entrance, crouching down and shuffling on her hands on knees behind Hunter and Jupiter. Sting remained outside at a small 'stay here' gesture from Celeste. When she saw who was inside, it took a mental battle to beat down her enthusiasm and hide it behind a calm, easy smile. She took care not to disturb anything as she sat down inside of the secret feline hangout, looking over its four inhabitants. This was more than she could have hoped for, both species she'd wanted and two females at that. She'd have been content with just one. The looks they were shooting her, however, left much to be desired, and Jupiter was glaring right on back with a look that said quite clearly that the first cat to get the idea to remove them by force was going to be lit up like a Christmas tree. Celeste patted her on the head and gently pushed her back away from the four felines, stammering apologetically, "Are we...uh, intruding on something private? I...I'm really sorry. I...er..." There are two females and two males here. Of course we're intruding on something private, she berated herself behind her nervous smile. If this wasn't already all kinds of awkward, it would go there very quickly if her instincts were correct about having barged in on a double date. It could be a coincidence, and she really hoped it was because, while she wouldn't deny all four of them if that was how it had to be, her pokemon were already tangled in a web of love and hate that could tie up a dragonite. Hunter knew it was up to him to say something, to make peace. There was no one else in the current team with the social skills suited to the task, and, on top of that, he was the only one who could speak his trainer's tongue. But what exactly did one say to cats other than 'don't eat me'? The colourful parrot swooped down to land before the quartet and bowed with a florish, trying to look charming, or at the very least not like a snack. "Please forgive my human, if you would be so gracious," she apologized in his native tongue, "She is such a deep admirer of pokemon like yourselves that she's forgotten herself." It wasn't a lie, either. He'd never understand why living with a greedy, selfish, attention-hogging, disruptive influence like Ace had, of all things, made her want more cats, but it wasn't his place to judge. If she wanted a meowth and skitty, then he'd do his best to get her a meowth and skitty. Jupiter just snorted and looked at the lavendar egg that her trainer was gently cradling, twitching a ear slightly before snorting again and flopping onto her stomach, groaning in boredom. "This is a waste of time," she mumbled into the ground, earning her another gentle pat from Celeste before the human remembered the terms of her deal and looked to their meowth guide. She would have simply been happy with an introduction to a single meowth or skitty, even rewarded him if presented with a male, since she hadn't specified gender to him. This was beyond what she'd asked for, even if he'd led them in figure-eights for so long she'd nearly gone mad. She could understand his reluctance, somewhat, and the fact that he'd finally gone through with it by showing her four cats made her inclined to forgive his stalling. It also made her inclined to go a little farther than the deal had intended, herself, even if she was probably screwing herself over by not having a carrot to dangle in front of his face to make him not try to sabotage this. Unwrapping her tuna sandwich slightly, she placed the whole thing in front of the male meowth rather than splitting it in half as agreed. "Here," she said softly, "Take it." Definately screwing herself over, she thought as she watched Hunter's attempt to ease the temper of the crowd. She was already running an escape plan through her mind just in case it all went south. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 10/11, Watering 1/3 Nidoran Egg: 10/20 Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Mar 19 2010, 07:33 PM.

.3 ![]() The Pokemon all looked around at one another after the Chatot made his apologies, before the two Skitty's turned their attention to the Glameow who sighed, his ears flicking a bit as his eyes half closed in a sign of frustration with a hint of exasperation. At least it wasn't an aggressive expression though as he stood from his seat and coolly strode around the table, grace and charm with every step before planting himself in front of the Chatot. I suppose so, if she got this... him.. to lead her here. The Glameow said, the tone of his voice with a delicious tone of refinement, looking with contempt at the Meowth as she scarfed down on the sandwich happily and then proceeded to lick the excess off her paws and whiskers. before cocking her head, not certain if she was just insulted or not. She's rather like... The boorish youngest member of our group. But I doubt she would just lead any trainer to our little hide a way.... Though she shouldn't lead ANY WHipASHH! As his long flowing tail flicked, smacking the meowth with a flick behind her ear, earning a whine of protest from the creature. What do you and your... human.. want?

0.2 ![]() Hunter was, to put it mildly, shocked at the glameow's charm. Used to the blunt, rude, grouchy glameow her trainer usually kept around and fawned over for reasons he couldn't begin to contemplate, this wild one's refinement made him pause. Ace's grating alley cat drawl was completely absent, his demanding, whining yowl nonexistant. Then he whipped out his tail in a single precise strike and Hunter winced. Well, he supposed there were always going to be some similarities. Jupiter's ears shot up at the noise, but flopped back down again when she realized there was to be no fighting. Nonetheless, he didn't quite reply right away, collecting himself before smiling. "Ah, getting right to the point. Fair enough. I never liked beating around the bush, either. I think she should answer for herself, though. Please excuse me." He moved over to Celeste again, who glanced up from her precious egg to peer at him curiously. "He's asking what we want," he explained, changing quickly into his slightly-squeaky human-speaking voice easily, "I thought that maybe you should explain." "Oh." She looked at the glameow, eyes sweeping appreciatively over his sleek, graceful form. Ace had been skin and bones when she found him, lilac fur turned grey from a life in the city, scrounging through garbage. This one was the picture of health, and also appeared to have restraint and grace, not tainted by past bitterness. He was gorgeous. "I can do that, yeah." Hunter then took off and landed on her shoulder, leaning in to add in a whisper, "I also wouldn't mind if you swapped in Ace for this guy." "Hunter!" Celeste scolded, frowning at the parrot. He quickly put up his wings defensively, and Juptier mumbled something incomprehensable. "Just a suggestion!" Celeste sighed and shook her head, before smiling at the glameow. "I think you already have an idea of the answer to that question. I'll be honest with you and confirm it." She shifted a bit, fishing for one of her books in her pack. The thick tome known as The Paper Pokedex was opened and pages flipped through as she continued. "I'm looking for feline pokemon interested in joining me. Your species all interest me as combatants. Meowth have speed and precision and learn a number of dark attacks--" Celeste carefully placed her book on the ground, facing the cats and turned to the meowth page. Mirror images of an ordinary meowth and shiny meowth stared from the page, up on two legs and making a 'beckoning cat' pose above a number of lists and charts detailing various data. She then turned the page, showing the images of persian. "--and, with enough training to evolve, there's a boost of strength and speed, some new attacks, and a chance of an immunity to paralysis." Trying to remember where in the book skitty was, she flipped a chunk of pages at once and then flipped a few more to find the right page. "Skitty are excellent manipulators, making use of sleep and their charms to turn the tide, and can learn to mimic attacks of their opponent or allies. There's even a bit of healing at higher levels. Not to mention, with the right stone--" She turned over the page to show delcatty. "There's a boost of toughness and speed to back it up." Celeste left the book where it was, allowing any of the cats to investigate it as they chose, as long as they didn't get destructive, and looked back at the glameow. "Your species, of course, is a balance, utilizing some direct attacks and a few more subtle techniques. Though, I'll admit that I already have a glameow with me." "Who's a right pain in the tailfeathers," Hunter grumbled. Celeste frowned and prodded him in the side, causing him to squeak and shuffle away. "Hush you. He's been through a lot." "And takes it out on me," she muttered, causing Celeste to sigh and shake her head again, ignoring him. "I've never been opposed to multiple members of the same species, though," she pointed out, before inhaling slowly and finishing with, "So, that's basically why I'm here. The offer's open to any of you. I'm not the sort to pawn you away to other people, and I'd bring you back if you really wanted it. If the answer's no, I'll be on my way, though I'm willing to leave you some food for hearing me out. I'm out of fish, but I've got some other meat." "Someone say food?" Jupiter asked, glancing up. Celeste patted her on the head and she sank down again into her state of half-sleep. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Growth 11/11, Watering 2/3 Nidoran Egg: 11/20 Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Mar 23 2010, 11:13 AM.

.3 ![]() The band of felines perked their ears toward the rustling pages of the written script, not so much interested in the tiny black wording and graphical charts as in the strange duplications of their species that were pressed flat against the thin sheets. They had never before seen such... such sorcery as this human device. In short, it baffled them. It also frightened them. It was just as scary and dangerous as those infernal orbs they used to contain wild pokemon such as themselves in. Fur bristling, they slowly backed away from the tome, slitted eyes staring from you to the thick book you had placed down for them to investigate. As far as they were concerned, that thing was just some horrible device to suck them into its depths upon venturing too close, the printed pictures surely those who have already fallen for your trick. The Glameow, tail flitting about in distaste behind him, was the only one who stayed put. He had heard your offer, and he showed no fear or hesitation as he iterated his own deal in return. As far as he was concerned, you were not worthy to take any of their ranks. Not yet, at least. "If your human wishes for us to join him, then she will have to prove herself. A battle, between one of you and myself. Your master must impress me with strategy, not brute force. He turned his slender head to stare at the retreating trio. "If you win, she may take only one of my band. If she wishes for another, well," a devious smirk split his face in twain. "Perhaps then she might be interested in completing a quest for us, but that is to discuss later."

0.3 ![]() All this talking was extremely boring for Jupiter, but the looks of fear in response to the book? That caught her attention, and she immediately got up to snatch up The Paper Pokedex. It was a heavy and awkward thing for something her size to hold, but she managed to wave it mock-threateningly in the direction of the three terrified cats, making goofy 'booga booga' noises and snickering. Hunter calmly repeated the glameow's deal, translated and remaining faithful to even his tone. Celeste bit her lip and looked a little uneasy, partially because it was him, and not the three others, offering this arrangement. It almost like he was handing his friends to trainers like prizes or payment. Not that humans didn't do the same thing regularly, but it was downright disturbing coming from another pokemon. That, not the idea of a battle, was what made her hesitate. She inhaled slowly, thinking that she may as well try, and answered, "If your band agrees to those terms, I..." She then noticed exactly what her Pikachu was doing. "Jupiter!" she snapped, making the mouse flatten her ears and flash a look of disgust, "Stop mocking them." "You're no fun," she grumbled, letting the tome drop again, a pair of azurill now staring up from the page. She scampered back over to Celeste and hopped on her shoulder. It was only from the relative safety of that perch that she added, "And I thought the city cats were stupid." "You just make friends everywhere you go, don't you?" Hunter asked sarcastically, ruffling his feathers. Jupiter just rolled her eyes. Celeste sighed. "Sorry about her." Jupiter huffed a bit at the idea she needed to be apologized for. "As I was saying, I accept the challenge. I think I have just the fighter." She ran her hand over her belt and plucked off one of her Great Balls. Hunter looked at the device in surprise, and gave his trainer a look that asked if she was sure. She petted the top of his head and smiled. "Trust me. He's perfect." She shifted, wincing a little as her cuts stung, and retrieved her book before anyone got the bright idea to try shredding it. She doubted they would be using this hidey-hole as the battlefield, and moved to make sure the entrance was clear for the glameow to lead her elsewhere. -- Then, once a battlefield was set and everyone ready, she tossed up the pokeball and caught the pokemon that came out. Flower blinked sleepily from her arms, taking in the surroundings and staring dopily at the glameow, not fully understanding what was going on. His eyes shut in bliss as Celeste scratched his ears and then he looked up her expectantly. "Hey Flower," she said softly to the stunky, "I was wondering if you could battle that glameow for me." He turned his gaze on the glameow again, now looking a bit afraid at his clear level advantage. "Pretty please with strawberries on top?" she asked in cooing voice. She had him at 'please,' but the strawberry bribe didn't hurt either. He nodded eagerly, grinning goofily, and she placed him down to take his place. "Try a blind Camelot tactic, " she whispered before letting him go. He nodded again, and then shut his eyes tightly and strolled purposely forward, unable to see a thing. He sat down, stamping a metaphorical target on his face with the action and not seeming to care. Celeste knew glameow's moveset backward and forward, owning one herself, and there were a number of moves that could seriously screw up a person's strategy. "Focus Energy," she commanded, and the skunk began to comply, drawing his power and sharpening his senses. The second half of the orders were unspoken, and wouldn't require him to aim. Instead, he used his inner toxins to, rather than try to catch the speedier cat, cloak himself in a thick, choking cloud of poisonous gases, obscuring him and ensuring that any attempt to attack him resulted in lungs full of poison. If the glameow used Fake Out, which she was sure he would, it would eliminate an attack that had no connection to the second. Faking out the Fake Out, one could say. Hypnosis required Flower to meet his stare, thus the blind half of the tactic. Sucker Punch was useless against a lack of direct attacks, Attract and Captivate were useless because Flower was male, and Faint Attack, if he even knew it, would be less than effective against a dark type like her stunky and result in poisoning. Eveything else had a chance of missing entirely, and any direct attacking resulted in him getting close enough to poison himself on top of that. Celeste smiled to herself as she waited for things to play out. If he found a way around this, she'd be very impressed, and welcome the lesson. Otherwise, she'd be waiting him out as Flower's toxins chipped away at the glameow's health. Either way, win or lose, she had a Revive on hand for afterward. Hunter and Jupiter watched the fight from their trainer's shoulders and Sting...just kept a good distance away and contented himself with watering the plant, like always. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Berries 1/5, Watering 3/3 <watered> Nidoran Egg: 12/20 --- Lvl 1030/30 [Eyes Closed: Focus Energy ---> Poison Gas (self-veiling psudeo-Smokescreen)] vs Lvl 1442/42 Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Mar 28 2010, 12:21 PM.

The three cats not in the battle watched on cautiously, making sure to cheer on their glorious leader to victory. Since, psh, yeah, they didn't want him to loose for a number of reasons. Anyways, the battle. Glameow waited, watching the skunk cautiously as it ambled forward with eyes closed. The cat acted exactly like Celeste expected, darting forward and smacking the skunk upside the head quickly, making him jerk his head back, not able to focus. But the poison gas happened without a hitch, as the Glameow hissed and backed away to a safe distance. He saw the purple cloud and waited... and waited. When it didn't go away, the cat frowned and plopped down, tail spinning as he weighed his options. Yes it was a battle, and yes he only really had his claws to attack... but boy did he ever not want to have anything to do with that poison. And he could see the cloud of it, so... 0.3 ![]() Celeste looked at the three cheering cats and felt her stomach clench. This really didn't seem right, fighting for these three like they were trophies. More accurately, for one of them; Celeste intended to choose the female skitty if she won, and found herself watching that one in particular, seeing her cheering the leader on. Not complaining about his deal, but cheering him. It still made her feel a bit sick. The feeling of Jupiter squirming on her shoulder, trying to see the battle as best she could without actually joining it, returned her mind to the task at hand. Focus on the battle, Celeste, she told herself firmly, We can cross that bridge when we come to it. She saw the predicted Fake Out, and winced at the look of dazed pain that crossed Flower's face, but was surprised when the glameow backed off when he saw the gas coming. He was fast enough to get in an attack before the cloak formed, but had chosen safety, making sure that he wouldn't get caught in the cloud. Smart. But not quite smart enough. The wild cat seemed to realize that he didn't have any options, and was waiting for an opportunity. When your opponent tried that, the best thing was make them pay. Make every second they wait get them into deeper trouble, until they get desperate and do something stupid. Celeste smirked slightly as her plan formed. She remembered what position Flower had been in before he was obscured and she was near-positive that, if these cats were confused and frightened by a book, they'd have no idea what clock-face directions meant. She eyed the glameow, then looked back at Flower, her imagination placing a circle around him with numbered lines extending from it. "Screech on my direction!" she called. Then, when the glameow commited to something, be it attacking, moving away, or anything, she called out his position on the clock. Now, Flower was hardly an expert on such directions, even while his eyes were open, but this was a disabling sound, not a projectile, so exact precision was less vital. Even if it failed, it was a move, and it put pressure on her opponent. Then, success or failure of the first attack, she called out the second. "Catch him! Smokescreen!" The purple cloud of poison would then be joined by a second, thicker type, mixing in with the toxic gases and pushing outward like a thunderhead of venom. Flower was growing harder and harder to see, and there was less and less of the battlefield to hide from the poison in. If this kept up, there'd nowhere for the glameow to run. His last advantage on the field was his speed, and she was determined to strip him of that, too. --- Current Landmark: 4 Foot Grass 2 Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Berries 2/5, Watering 1/3 Nidoran Egg: 13/20 --- Lvl 1019/30 [Eyes Closed: Screech (directed by Celeste) ---> Smokescreen (surrounding Flower, mixing with the Poison Gas and pushing it outward)] vs Lvl 1442/42 |

0.3 ![]() Oh yes, the Fake Out was good... but Glameow was in deep trouble now that his only means of offense left was to scratch your Stunky's HP off. The cat pranced behind the ominous fog of purple, frowning at what your dear little Flower might be planning next. Contrary to what your Stunky's name might suggest, the species was never associated with nice-smelling friendly individuals in general, and the Glameow was already beginning to form judgment on you depending on your queer taste of Pokemon and the way in which you named them. Male skunk, Flower? You're one weird trainer. But it didn't really matter if the Glameow was weird or not. For you were just about to crush the Glameow, and he was more inclined to ditch you than to continue this meaningless struggle. In any case, Glameow wasn't too willing to destroy his fur to fulfill your wishes. Your loud voice pierced Glameow's like a screech beyond Flower's, though it was obvious that the Stunky's one had the obvious effect of making the cat wince a little and dwindling his already pitiful defense. The Glameow was suddenly shocked into activity, as he tethered on his feet waiting for you to come up with some ridiculous plan to smack him down. And the moment he saw the Stunky, uh, attempt to release some of his potent toxins from his body, the Glameow knew it was time to act. The cat merely kept staring at Flower, as the Stunky was momentarily distracted by the attention that the Glameow was warranting him. And one look was all it took to take the Stunky to dreamland, as the foulsmelling Smokescreen emitted from Flower in soft unpleasant puffs of diffused darkness. It was amazing how Flower managed to release the Smokescreen while sleeping, but unpleasant and nasty all the same. At least, it didn't look nice at all. Glameow, however, knew that there was little time left. The soft Growl managed to enter Flower's ear somehow, and lowered his defense a little. The Smokescreen that was intended to push the Poison Gas towards the Glameow was instead left stagnating the air around him. And to make matters worse, Flower merely slept on, oblivious to what was happening around him. If it weren't for the fact that the Glameow wasn't too keen on getting poisoned, Flower might have already been out of commission by now... 0.3 ((Everyone who's been modding this is awesome, and this has been really fun; please don't take the actions in this post as anything other than my own fault.))Celeste winced when Flower flopped to the ground. She supposed it would be difficult for him to keep his eyes closed entirely during the battle, and at least the Smokescreen attack had been pulled off. Really, this was just a delaying tactic; there was nothing the glameow could do, or rather nothing he was willing to do, while the cloud of poison protected Flower. He'd eventually just wake up and the battle would go on as before. That wouldn't stop some pokemon present from trying to speed things up a tad. Celeste grabbed Jupiter's scruff when she made to leap in herself. "It's a one-on-one," she told the pikachu firmly, who pouted and grumbled. "Don't suppose screaming at him is an illegal move?" Jupiter asked in a half-mumble. Hunter dutifully translated the message, whispering the words into Celeste's ear. "No, not at all. Go nuts," the trainer answered simply, without a hint of sarcasm. Jupiter blinked at her for a few moment. "Seriously? Awesome!" She quickly began waving her arms around, shrieking at the top of her lungs, "LISTEN YOU NO GOOD LUMP OF PURPLE FUZZ GET UP AND FLATTEN THAT CAT OR I SWEAR I'LL FEED YOU YOUR OWN TAIL WITH KETCHUP NOW GET UP!" Hunter joined in with a few meaningless squawks, flapping his wings in a frenzy. Really getting into it, Jupiter starting leaping up and down. Bad idea. Celeste toppled over, trying and failing to catch herself before she landed on her side on the ground, the side that had previously been shredded by a meowth. Jupiter managed to wriggle out from under her immobile trainer. Celeste, however, did not get up. Her side was on fire, and in the sudden pain she found tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. Instead of getting to her feet, she curled up, spitting curses out from between her clenched teeth. Truth be told, it felt worse than it actually was, and she would probably be fine if given a second to let the pain fade. She didn't get the chance, because at that moment two very overprotective, winged males flew into a complete and utter panic. Sting nearly dropped his plant, but instead flew over to Celeste's side of the battlefield in an instant, soaring over the wild feline spectators and likely scattering them. Hunter flew in frantic circles and then shot off like a bullet into the cloud of poison gas and grabbed Flower, yanking him out of the battlefield. "We gotta get her out of here! Get her to town!" Hunter babbled in between coughs from the poison. "I'm okay," Celeste managed to hiss from between clenched teeth. She went ignored, save for Jupiter, who took the words to heart and looked largely unconcerned. Hunter's frantic flying in circles, however, began to seriously irritate the rodent and she reached into Celeste's pocket. "Sweet Creator, am I the only one with a brain in her head?" she growled, holding her trainer's Escape Rope. If it would shut the birdbrain up, she'd get their trainer to safety. One flip of the switch, and everything around them simply vanished, replaced with the familiar concrete jungle that was Lorenzo. The wild cats would probably never know what had happened, simply seeing these pokemon and their human disappear before their eyes. Celeste became aware of the fact that she was lying on cold concrete, and slowly got to her feet. Well...that had been...not quite what she'd expected. --- Charti Berry Plant (Growth Mulch + Medium Compost): Berries 3/5, Watering 2/3 Nidoran Egg: 14/20 Used Escape Rope (Lorenzo Town) |
