It's not worth it.

[Continued from here.] The initial walk transformed into quite the walk that spanned the distance from the craggy and shrubby scenery of the Ruinlands to the lush and expansive grasslands. The wide, open fields breezing with a light wind and teeming with life always cheered Prosper up, as they served a direct contrast to the harsh environment in which he had spent so many months. Already, the journey brightened, and suddenly anything was possible. But, the inevitable would quickly come. The appearance of three Pokemon would normally have excited the overzealous trainer, but seeing the white fur streaked with the trademark bolts of red buckled his knees. An experience with one of the creatures a while back had left him with nothing but a severe dislike and even slight fear of the Zangoose. These two appeared to be only playing, however, which seemed relatively innocent in comparison to the bloodthirsty nature branded in Prosper's memory. A walk closer revealed that quite the opposite was true. Instead of enjoying an impromptu soccer game, the two Zangoose were making a sport of picking on a tiny Phanpy. True to his recollections, a more vile nature was being shown, and his distrust of the species deepened. Unlike his previous encounter, these seemed to be a bit more normal then the rabid, Pokerus-enraged Pokemon from his past. Even so, picking on a Pokemon smaller and weaker than them was not something he could tolerate. Grabbing up two Pokeballs from his belt, Prosper tossed them forward, waiting as both Leaf and Ryuu appeared side-by-side, facing the sporting Zangoose. It became quickly apparent that the two white-furred creatures were the brutes they would challenge. Whether they had yet noticed them was still to be determined. His wings buzzing into motion, Ryuu lifted into the air, waiting while a slight rumbling began to shake the earth out in shock waves from Leaf's position. Suddenly, the wave of energy pulsed out, creating tremors as the Earthquake directed itself in the direction of the Zangoose. Following the initial assault, Ryuu darted forward, his energy flaring with Swords Dance before he lashed out with X-Scissor, battering one of the Zangoose with two massive pincers. Recovering from his quake, Leaf bounced forward, launching his body momentarily into the air and utilizing his massive weight to barrel straight through the other Zangoose, hopefully slamming them straight to the ground. ![]() Level 37 148/148 ![]() [Earthquake + Body Slam] ![]() Level 37 111/111 ![]() [Swords Dance + X-Scissor] *Strategy?* VS X2Level 35 105/105 ![]() -Playing Phanpy soccer --------- ![]() Level 30 120/120 ![]() -Ballin' Edited by Fantasy Shadow, Jan 20 2010, 06:28 PM.

Cute and Fluffy Evil Overlord

.3 (Sorry that you haven't been gotten in all this time. And sorry, this mod is going to be pretty lousy. x.x) The two white and red creatures darted back and forth across the field, tossing and punting the little elephant across the way, punting her first left, then right, back and forth, in a game of fun and enjoyment. There was a pause, then, as the ground started to tremble, then shake and then it all broke loose, sending both creatures stumbling in shock, the little elephant rolling and bouncing away over the aftershocks. She came to rest a short bit away, still curled up into a little ball. The two zangooses (zangeese?) looked around a bit wildly for what was going on, but one was overwhelmed in seconds by a blur of furious red, and the second buried under a large green mass. And so, all that was left was the little elephant, curled up on the field, unmoving. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ .9 to each Ryuu and Leaf. Lv. 3060/120 ![]() ~ Defense Curling for all she's worth |

0.2 [No problem!~] It was a rare, swift battle; rarely did Prosper see any action where many unforeseen complications entered the picture. Still, despite his doubt, everything had gone off without a hitch. Engrossed in their cruel game of soccer, they had yet to notice Prosper and his team, which fortunately gave them an advantage. Motioning the Pokemon forward, he hoped to end this decisively and move on with their travels uninhibited. Contrary to his expectations, the duo had performed exceedingly well, downing the pair of Zangoose almost before they realized what had happened. Leaping up from their respective attacks, they turned toward the Phanpy, while Prosper walked up from behind, noticing that the tiny elephant still lay on the ground, curled into its ball. Hopefully, the earthquake hadn't damaged it too badly. But, seeing as it was tightened into a Defense Curl, Prosper had figured it would come out okay. "Those Zangoose are done bothering you. They're going to be out for awhile, but they'll wake up soon enough, so why don't you get on out of here? I'm certain they won't be very pleased once they realize what just happened." It probably would have been an opportune moment to coerce the Phanpy into joining up with him, but having just captured one of the little creatures recently, Prosper felt no need to cause it any more trouble. Nodding at the elephant, Prosper turned, jerking his head in a signal for the two males to follow him. With that, they continued along the worn path, heading for the city. .2 The journey across the trampled plains was easy going, the way before you well trodden and very nearly crushed to a dusty pulp. It was easy to see where you were going and from whence you came. The skies were clear and deep blue the sort of blue you can gaze into for hours and seem to lose all sense of time. No initial signs of the furry scuttling inhabitants could be seen. Meaning most were underground, if there were any at all. In fact, the only thing of interest at all, as you strolled down road marked by tires into two worn muddy ruts, was a little old man in denim overalls, and a faded gray plaid shirt rolled up at the sleeves. He wore a ragged broad brimmed straw hat and mopped at his forehead with a stained red handkerchief. Parked along side the road was his old Ford pickup, a 70s model, from what you could, and a real clunker that had only ever known the life of a farm vehicle. The black paint, what of it hadnt flecked off with the years and wasnt spotted with large patchy holes of rust, appeared to have been scraped off by teeth. He probably owned horses, or had at some point. And then, hanging its huge pale blue head out of the window was a bristling husky like canine, a Manectrike. Its pricked too fluffy ears tilted towards you and its wolfish snout lolled a long pink tongue out of its jaws. The dog began to bark, not aggressively, but more in a hey-hey! Its a person its a person! sort of way. The old man turned away from the field and squinted beneath the shade of his straw hat. You could see now he was a smoker, because a stub of a cigarette hung from his weathered lips. Howdy there, neighbor. He grunted in his ancient raspy voice. You headin to Moorfield? I reckon I could give ya lift if ya dont mind sitting beside Sparky there. He nodded back towards the dog who was clambering to crawl through the open window now. [Youve met a random farmer parked along side the road with his old Manectric Sparky. Hes not a trainer, nothing special and this isnt a storyline. Hes just some friendly old fella offering you a lift into town.] |

0.4 (I really liked that) Before his walk along the unmarked roads of the grasslands, Prosper had never considered how much of this area seemed like pure farmland. The grass was wide and open, providing perfect grazing areas for large herds of cattle watched over by the toiling farmers. It also seemed incredibly clean and peaceful. There was no ambient noise on the open plain, as it was free from the groan of machinery and the general white noise that pervaded the urban environment. Prosper could just see himself settling out here under some tree and staring up at the stars that would soon dot the clear, glassy night sky. Seeing an object in the distance he couldn't quite make out, Prosper continued forward, watching as the vehicle gradually came into view. Leaf and Ryuu followed in his footsteps curiously as the man appeared. He seemed to be one of the ranchers Prosper had been picturing just moments ago. He possessed that typical country look, which piqued the trainer's interest. His rough and practical appearance provided a sharp contrast to the usual glossy and perfect look he expected in the cities. Acting his typical male self, Ryuu bristled at the sight of the Manectric, his claws quivering as if he expected it to leap at any moment. Leaf snorted at his side, shrugging at the Scizor's hostility as he inched forward, sniffing interestedly in the electric-type's direction. Other creatures he had seen of that species seemed so sleek and powerful. It was actually quite surprising to behold one that appeared so worn and trodden. It was obvious that this hound had seen years far beyond his own. Prosper stopped beside the old pick-up, smiling faintly at its old appearance before turning his attention to the farmer. He began with a nod, quickly answering the man's question. "Yes, sir. I'm coming from Cryzanthum, and I've had quite a time getting here. It would be a huge relief to get to the city so comfortably. Are you sure you're heading that way? I don't want to put you out in any way." (To save time, assuming that the farmer answers yes, Prosper will recall his Pokemon and climb into the passenger seat of the truck) Notes: Met NPC farmer; he is offering ride to Moodfeldt City. 0.3 - Sorry for the wait! Poor performance there by us mods =/'Arrr, no problem. Been bumpin' on this flat path fer years. Old Sparky here n'ver bites, if you're worried; he's seen 'nuf of you trainers to know a bad nut from a good one.' Sparky took no attention to the Scizor's attempted intimidation. The aged and experienced Manectric had seen enough of generations of Pokemon trying to impress him or act smug in his presence, and he was never once bothered with the notion of battling. He's had his share of roughing in the wild and knocking those rugged wildlife down with a trusty Spark, but he's never concerned about being the top or anything like that. No, he's simply your typical obedient shaggy Manectric that will stay with his master for years to come, enjoying the tranquility of a farmer's life and fulfilling his loyalty. You took no time in squeezing onto the passenger seat, where Sparky shifted marginally to give you ample space for a considerably comfortably ride. Within seconds you were off to Moorfeldt in a positively charming Ford, and saved from the hassle of traveling the entire path by foot. The journey had a real country feel to it, as you passed by herd after herd of Miltank grazing happily in the fields. Old Sparky stifled a yawn, as the farmer couldn't resist the temptation of another cigarette. The cool air brushed against your face whenever you stuck your head outside, and it didn't take long for the cityscape to loom ahead of the otherwise serene scenery striking your visual nerves. 'Yeh know, I've seen many-a creatures stumbling down the path. If we're outta luck, we mighta have ter bump one off the road...' He took another puff of the cigarette, before resuming back to his steering duties. Half of him wanted to strike up a conversation with you, the other half recognized that he really didn't have too much to converse with a random (albeit well-mannered) trainer like you. He naturally assumed that you might find his talk irritating, and you naturally accepted that assumption. Little, if any, conversation took place in that short ride, as you bumped right into the heart of Moorfeldt. And... 'We're here, boy. I say, you're one pleasant company though we n'ver talk much. Gotta go pick up the good now, yer see. See yer around then, sonny boy.' And so you were in Moorfeldt. |
