Not a freeform, just a regular house/lab post for my side character. Starter is a Machop.

~~~~~
Stan Knife drained his fifth beer of the night in one giant swig, setting the empty glass down with an audible smack. His motorcycle was parked outside, and he'd be riding it home. For most people, that would have been a bad idea, but not for Stan. Oh no, a measly five beers was nowhere near enough to get a guy his size even remotely drunk.
Stan was a big man. No, bigger than that. Keep going. Seriously, this guy was huge. His seven-and-a-half foot, five hundred plus pound frame was testing the limits of the poor bar stool, which creaked ominously every time he shifted his weight.
"Top that off, big guy?" Asked the bartender. Stan shook his head.
"Nah, I'm done for the night." Came the deep rumbling reply. Using the bar as a prop, Stan hauled himself up to a standing position. He drew a few stares as he moved to exit the bar - he was used to it by now. He was also used to looks of abject terror, like the one currently sported by a tiny man who just so happened to be caught between Stan and the door. The hulking brute stared downwards, and uttered a single disgruntled syllable.
"Move."
Tiny did as he was told admirably, scurrying away to a safe corner of the room. This left Stan free to squeeze through the door and out into the streets of Kevin Baconville. He'd lived here all his life, taking the role of the city's resident tough-guy biker for the last few years. Thing was, he was getting bored. Nothing new ever happened in KBVille - it was the same run-down areas, the same crime gangs, the same bars, even the same bar fights. As it turned out, some of the regulars were indeed dumb enough to pick a second fight with Stan. At least no-one as of yet had ever done it a third time. Maybe Mr. "hey buddy, you spilled my drink" might try it, once he woke up from that coma. Hey, Stan was perfectly justified in messing him up like that. He'd called him fat.
Stan rounded the corner of the building into the parking lot. There, his only true companion was faithfully guarding his most prized possession, a vintage Harley Davidson that was specially modified to cope with his massive bulk.
"Any trouble, Max?"
The Machop on the seat of the bike shook his head.
"Great. Let's get this baby into storage, then tomorrow it's the great outdoors."
He kicked the hog into life, then set off with a thunderous roar of the bike's engine. Over the past couple of weeks, Stan had been preparing to travel the region. He'd met Max in one of the city's many back alleys. The Machop had just hatched, most likely abandoned by a trainer who hadn't wanted the egg. Even as a baby, Max's resilience and sheer toughness impressed Stan greatly, enough for the man to take the little fighter under his wing. The local pokémon centre had provided him with everything he needed to get started - spare pokéballs, pokétech, dex and the like. Ideally, he'd have travelled on his bike, but it wasn't designed for off-road riding, especially not for forests, swamps and mountain ranges. Thus, he'd stash it in one of the city's storage lockers for safekeeping. It was a real shame, but he supposed walking would do him good. Maybe he could shift some of his excess gut along the way.
-----
The next morning, Stan was on foot. He'd stayed with his usual outfit of jeans, black tank top, sleeveless jacket and size 21 combat boots. Partly because he wanted to keep the image going, and partly because it was almost impossible to find new outfits in his size. He carried a rather large backpack which contained all the essentials, and Max was happily perched on his trainer's shoulder. All the equipment he'd bought had eaten up most of his savings, but the money left would be enough to live on until he found a source of income.
Onward, then, to the next stage of Stan's life.
