And now it was time. All the preparations had been made, and Elijah could finally withdraw some more items into his pack to carry them better for the return journey home. And hey, he finally had a shirt on, too.

They'd left Misthenge quickly, to be faced by the mists. Now they had to navigate those mists quickly and efficiently. They were, for all intents and purposes, close to Rose Town, and close to home. That meant that it would only be a little while longer until they got there, and that could be done extremely quickly.

Elijah's plan? Ride Epona back to Rose Town and let her do her running. She was still a playful pup at heart; she loved to run around and have fun. Elijah was just going to treat this as a game for her.

"Get back to Rose Town by dinnertime and I'll buy you aaaaanything you want to eat, okay?" he challenged her, to which he got an appreciative bark. The sad thing was, it could be done.

Hence, Elijah settled his weight atop the Arcanine, and made himself comfortable, holding on to her mane, before it shot off in a blur of motion. That tutoring had been a good idea - it'd speed up the time it took to get home considerably. Mist? Screw mist, they had places to be. The water didn't matter, Epona could navigate through it, or even her way around it.

Posting because he could not really care to embellish out the mod more, and partly because he wants to help you. You arrive in Sinklands 2.

Well. So far, things were going well; there hadn't been much in the way to stop them, and Elijah was only a little bit wet from sploshing through big puddles. It was about to get worse, though; the sinklands were an area of the Murmur Valley that were renowned for big holes in the ground. So they needed to work a way around that, too.

"Okay, Epona, wanna try some jumping, too? The faster you run, the further you jump. So let's do that over these holes. Just... let's do this bit a little slower, okay?"

'A little slower' meant slightly slower than the speed of sound, or something like that anyway.

The Arcanine heeded her trainer's words and slowed down. Admittedly, falling into a hole never ended well with Elijah, and so his concern was understandable. There was usually some Pokémon that wanted to get a hold of him in the bottom of a hole - Sandslashes, Exeggcute... All kinds. If he wanted to stay out of the holes, so be it.

She pawed her way at a good clip, but not enough so that she couldn't detect a hole when she stepped ont he edge. It was like very fast creeping along, sort of a trot. Elijah made sure her weight was evenly-distributed so that chances of falling were reduced. Could they do it? Here's hoping.

Other than your Arcanine accidentally jumping into a sinkhole, nothing much happened. You arrive in Unclearable Fog Marsh 1.

It seemed that sinkholes were no longer a problem for the two brave fighters. They'd navigated that particular section with relative ease and hey, getting away from big holes in the ground was a relief for Elijah. He was now wary of them. Not scared, by any means, no. Almost nothing scared the karateka, now that his mind was firmly rooted. But he could be wary.

So now that things were back to their regular 'I cannot see anything' level, Elijah knew it was time for Epona to take off at high speeds once more. When she did that, he could feel the wind in his slicked-back hair, the black mane atop his head not quite blowing in the breeze. There was a real feeling of freedom out here, freedom he wished he had earlier. Soon.

Soon, they'd be in the ever-familiar rolling grasslands again - and soon, they would be home.

Soon.

Elijah's thoughts were with his father, his sick and dying father, lying in the hospital bed, eagerly awaiting the return of his son with the prize from a far-off land. He'd only been there for a while, and yet, Elijah couldn't help feeling that...

I'm coming. Hold on.
