Once again, the shadows of the sky scrapers engulfed Kaizanu and anxiety returned. The sense of duty she had towards her mother was reviving itself, having heard the unfortunate news. Rabid pokemon were attacking innocent civilians and some were badly mauled. Pokemon, not native to the region, had swarmed to the town for whatever reason. Kaizanu would aide in their removal, if only because her mother lived here, and she supposed catching some of these pokemon would not be a bad idea either. Kaizanu decided to stay away from one block in particular, to avoid her mom. Pulling out her poketch, she sent a short message to her mom, warning her to stay in doors. I've seen the newscasts, and even if I'm not there, I want you to be safe, the message lied. Putting away her poketch, Kaizanu looked towards the infested city, screams of terror and shouts of the hunt echoed through the valleys between buildings and faded by the outskirts. "Time to head into the fray." Flicking a wrist, an unmarked pokeball flew out, releasing its contents in the form of a large fire dog. Ruin was his name, and it had been a while since his last trip outside of the pokemon center, grinning, he gave his trainer a hello-kiss. "Good to see you too," Kaizanu laughed, scratching the arcanine's ear. "Let's start tracking." Kaizanu had four major pokemon goals, but decided to go through the city first to see what there was to be had in its magnificent bounties. Walking alongside her arcanine, rather than riding, Kaizanu felt that their dual effort could speed up the search much quicker. With a keen eye on her surroundings and ears ready to receive that urgent cry of "I found something!" from Ruin. In the meantime, they entered city limits and were given their twenty park balls. Looking them over, they were serious. The population had plummeted severely and there was orders only to capture. "You know the drill, Ruin. Time to hold back." It was a strange feeling, though; after all, Kaizanu and her team were used to beating the opponent into the ground. All except Gimpy, which was why he was placed on the team. He had vowed to never kill again and his special abilities would be very helpful. Ruin walked forward, nose close to the ground, breathing in the dusty, smog-filled air of Brightopolis, sifting out the scents of pokemon, captive and wild, as well as the humans who ran all about the city. It was not entirely too easy, but he had years of tracking experience, and he would display them here, now. "Arca," he growled. The dust was irritating.

0.3 ![]() Ruin's first whiff of the ground, along with giving him a nose full of sneeze-inducing dust, gave him a scent of something that lurked in this place. Apparently, a cat lived here, and more sniffing revealed the smells of the blood of various prey that had entered here and never returned. Nothing his trainer specifically searched for, however. 'Cat' was an understatement. Once an inhabitant of the Sanded Grasslands, these tall buildings and dark alleys hid a beast, a wildcat that killed prey much larger than your usual Rattata. Not that the creature itself was particularly large, at least not compared to Ruin's great size, but what walked out of the alleyway with silent but purposeful steps was not a common street Meowth. The Luxio's ears flattened against his skull and his fur stood on end with building electricity. He did not leap, did not strike the hound at his unawares, but the hunger for battle in his eyes was impossible to mistake as he stepped in front of Ruin. Scars covered his body, blood coated his claws and teeth, and yet he was thin, starving, living in a place where all the helpless prey had long been eaten. He knew why you were here, even if he did not know the fate of the pokemon who lost this dangerous game. He was not mindless, but he was hungry, and the virus surging through his blood told him to fight. They would all fall eventually, he knew. It was either now or later, and he had chosen now. If this was his last stand, so be it. --- Lvl 50 150/150[+1 Special Defense] (Charge) |

Ruin huffed, the scent burning within the tunnel of his nose. He was at unease as the smell of crusted blood was analyzed in his mind. Looking towards his trainer, he made a dash for her side, not quite like a scared pup. He was bigger than this, but he felt worried for his trainer. Scrawny, stringy, and human, most likely the worst combination for survival in a world like this one. "Nine," he grumbled in his throat. The shadowy form revealed itself. At first, Kaizanu expected a powerfully muscled pokemon, with all of its hairs on end, but the sight was more than pitiful. Kaizanu now saw the extent at which the virus had devastated the pokemon. At first, she debated merely offering food to the pokemon, but recalled all the news about the virus's temperament altering side effect. She had no other choice but to weaken the cat more than it was now. "Sorry, but there's just no other choice," Kaizanu said, removing a pokeball from its clip. "I promise you'll find yourself home when this is all said and done," Kaizanu announced, throwing a pokeball out into the air, not to capture the pokemon, but find a suitable match against him. "Razz, go easy on'em!" she called out finally as the pokemon materialized in the sky. Raziel nodded. Even he, with the eyes of a hawk, could see the poor state that Luxio was in. Debating for a moment, he realized that he couldn't take the beast lightly either. Strengthened by the virus, the emaciated cat could still very well put up a fight for its life, because that was what fear did to pokemon and humans alike. "Stop beating around the bush!" Kaizanu called out, seeing every moment passing slowly making the beast more irritated. She had a gun, but it was only the last measure. Snorting, the dragon quickly veered downwards towards his enemy, blazing the ground at a slant towards the cat, burning the pavement and scorching the sidewalk as he blazed passed. He hoped not only to blind the cat in the bright blue glow of the pseudo-fire, but to cause the cat to back against the buildings. "Fly... gon!" he screeched, rocks suddenly sprouting from the nothingness around him before being cast towards the luxio to encase and demobilize the cat. Tossing a second pokeball out, Kaizanu sent out her pollinator. In the air, the ragged wings fluttered as if he were a bat. He appeared and knew his purpose, seeing Kaizanu as she nodded towards him. "Veno," he grinned, sending forth waves of supersonic sounds at the luxio, trying to incapacitate their rabid foe. Following, he left a finely blanket of sleep-causing dust. Prepared with a pokeball, Kaizanu stood at the ready to capture their prize.

0.3 ![]() One of the Luxio's ears flicked at the comforting words, but his expression didn't change. Whether the words were true, he didn't know. All he knew that humans had chased him, chased all of them, into this city and now flooded it like the shutting of a deadly trap. Fighting was all he understood and knew anymore, the madness that had swept through the grasslands a constant presence urging him forward. He eyed the orange Flygon as if trying to consider his next move, trying to keep his mind clear despite the virus and fighting instinct urging him on. This strange opponent's scent, however slightly, reminded him of creatures of the desert that bordered his old home, and that single thought turned his mind away from blasts of electricity and more toward what he did best. He let Raziel come, standing with his paws firmly on the ground and eyes on the dragon. He never looked away once, bloodstained teeth bared in a determined snarl despite the roaring flames heading for him. When Raziel came close, he sprang, soaring through the air toward the dragon who had swooped down to execute his attack. The move didn't save him from the blue fire. In fact, he wound up throwing himself straight into the blast to get at its creator, but it did result in him avoiding Gimpy's sound attack; Supersonic was notoriously bad at hitting moving targets. Claws digging into the dragon's torso, the Luxio bit Raziel savagely, closing his jaws with force that often snapped bones. Luckily, no such thing happened here, and the cat eventually lost his grip and struck the ground harshly, unable to orient himself well enough to land on his feet. Despite his pain and exhaustion, he got up again, only to roar as the earth itself grasped and emtombed him. He thrashed, sparks flying from his coat uselessly, until the powder from Gimpy's wings covered him. Then the rage, pain, and hunger finally faded, leaving only sleep. One last roar, little more than a meow, and his head and body drooped, giving in to the forced sleep. The Park Ball pulled him into its depths, and technology won out over will. He was captured. --- Lvl 50 53/150Ability: Rivalry [Caught] (Crunch) :raziel Lvl 52 153/208

Kaizanu anticipated the parkball rolling closed, remaining such, as innocent minds do to the world. Swiftly pocketing the parkball into her stash, she nodded to her two grand pokemon. If anything, they were reliable. Recalling the fighters, they found their pokeballs on her belt once more. Reserving their strength for when they were next needed was the best course, and if it meant anything at all, that meant she could spend more time with her arcanine. "Ar... nine," Ruin addressed Kaizanu, pushing his moist muzzle against her shoulder. They should be moving on soon, he meant, knowing that the sounds of their battle might attract unwanted attention in the form of other trainers. Largely, the city was crowded, but it seemed that pokemon refused to be seen unless searched for directly. Now knowing the real reason for being here, Kaizanu mentally checked her list again. With an eye to Ruin for good measure, she grinned, "We're looking for a female poochyena principally, but a few other pokemon on our list... I think we've got a good chance." Although, the motive behind her search would be left unrevealed for now, all she wanted was to have a friend at her side for the moment. After a moment longer in the city, Kaizanu decided they would shift their course for something more beach-like in appearance, because water pokemon, she assumed, were abundant in this pokemon catching frenzy. If she could rescue some for good measure, than it would please her to do so. Water types weren't her favorite pokemon, but her best friend was one, and Kaizanu knew that Akita would be upset with her if she let her fellow water dwellers die in some polluted puddle. With a good mindset, Ruin put his nose to the grimy floor again, taking in the multi-scented ground with his good 'ole olfactory organ. For a fleeting moment, the luxio's smell lingered on the ground, sharp with the dull tinge of blood, with a sweet pinch of electricity, but it faded as his own overpowering smell of dog washed over the street as he walked forward, one massive paw at a time. He was determined to please Kaizanu, so he set to indefinite work sifting through the endless signatures of pokemon and human, wild and tamed, alive and rotting. Ruin was searching for that strong scent of fur, washed in the grasslands that were so sandy that it could have been a desert - he was searching for telltale signs of a poochyena, female if his wits allowed him. As his paws carried him over the dry pavement, sometimes hot, sometimes cold, he recognized the smells of battles that had taken place an hour, a day, or maybe a week ago. These things, he saw in his mind, of the matches that were friendly and sometimes hostile. He even made up scenarios to help compare the smells of certain pokemon he had learned throughout his life. In his moment of contemplation, he suddenly felt sorry for his human companion, for she could not see with the vivid sites that scent had given him.

0.3 [Playing mod, Ruin's sniffer was working at full strength and the fiery canine easily picked up a Poochyena's scent. With a howl the Arcanine quicken his pace, running ahead of you onto the sandy beach. The roar of the ocean met your ears and the salty sea air ruffled Ruin's thick coat. There was little cover here, if not for PokeRus one might wonder why Pokemon would be out in the open. Still Ruin had found your prey and not just one but three Poochyena. Seems you've arrived just in time to witness a little soap opera. Two of the Poochyena glared challengingly at one another. With hackles raised and fangs bared they charged. The stronger of the two howled before he snapped at his opponent, grabbing hold of his shoulder with those sharp fangs. But the other male wasn't backing down and returned the bite with one of his own. The smallest of the three dark canine sat watching the battle. Her paw rested on a red and white fish. On closer inspection you could see it was a Goldeen, and she was still alive. One could deduce that the males were fighting for the affections of the female and the Goldeen was intended to be supper. They were all much too distracted to take any notice of you and your fiery companion. Gently, the scents of the beach wafted into Ruin's nose, along with it came the strong aura of battle. Ears falling back as his eyes fell upon two stronger fighters than himself, he looked to Kaizanu, letting a faint whimper escape from his throat. "I'm going in," he growled deeply, eyes wandering across the horizon as a sweet scent met his nose. He saw the prize the two fighters were dueling for, but he wondered if he had a better shot. Ruin took a step forward, paw shifting in sand. Proud as he was, he was always in the mood to sway a gal. He puffed his chest out, a grin on his fanged face with all the charm he could muster. Whistling, "Hey beautiful... How about you and me?" He blew a kiss her way and turned his attention to the brawling males. A last glance towards Kaizanu and he flew forward in a burst of speed. "Oh boy." Kaizanu shook her head. Though she didn't understand directly what he said, she could tell from his body language, and while he went to be a chivalrous fool, she turned her own attention to the gasping fish. Weak, but not yet dead, Kaizanu was sure that she was a good enough target to save - not only to give another day of life to, but to remove her from the awful state of the beach. With a parkball in hand, Kaizanu moved in, throwing once in range, allowing it to disappear into that Big Box in the Who-Knows-Where. Ruin continued his quick dash, eying the stronger of the two. As he came upon the assumed leader, he ducked low, shoulder at the ready as a battering ram. With all his weight, strength, and inertia, the arcanine intended to ram the stronger male into the distance, while he then turned his focus on the weaker male. "So..." he growled, wrinkling his lips, "Ready to see who's the real Alpha?" With a greater size, but not quite the intimidating force, Ruin's grin soon grew orange-tinged with the hot intensity of lava. Flames burned as if his teeth had become candle wicks and the warmth radiated towards the small poochyena. His grin opened and he attempted to seize the smaller poochyena, burning flesh and fur. Thrashing the poochyena about, Ruin showed absolutely no mercy. And when he finished, he looked over to the female, panting. His tail wagged - Did he do good? Kaizanu, in the meantime, continued to shake her head and went to capture the stronger poochyena, assuming he was still conscious.

0.3 ![]() The female Poochyena perked her ears up turning to the handsome Ruin. She stood watching him with interest almost forgetting her dinner. The canine smirked coyly and glanced toward the other two who were still at each other's throats. She removed her paw from the Goldeen and began to dainty lick her paw. "Take care of those two and we'll see." She didn't seem to notice supper was now gone, locked up safely in a Park Ball and whisked away to wherever they ended up. Though once she did realize where her fish had gone she wouldn't be very happy. The two males were suddenly broken up as the stronger went flying through the air, Ruin having made direct contact with the dark canine. He let out a howl of rage just before the Park Ball smacked into his side. The Poochyena was too weak to fight the hold of the ball and after a few halfhearted wiggles the ball fell still and vanished. Now for the remaining male who was none too happy about this new challenger. He howled before charging the larger canine and clamped down on Ruin's leg. Though he was now at the mercy of the Arcanine and took the full brunt of the fiery attack. He dropped to the ground unmoving. The female barked her approval to Ruin for having routed both males and turned to find her fish. But alas it was gone. Angered she turned searching for who'd stolen her fish when her gaze fell upon you. With fangs bared she charged, if she couldn't have fish for supper, human would suffice. Successful in her capture of two pokemon, Kaizanu grinned, but quickly the grin faded as she saw a vicious poochyena advancing for her. Damn. She had hoped that Ruin's charm would have kept her distracted enough, but it didn't appear to work. "Well... crap," she said between gritted teeth, a feigned smile on her face. "So, Ruin, thinking about letting this dam take a chunk out of me?" Making eye contact with her loyal canine, he understood. Love and war - all things that were the same. His love for his trainer was greater than the infatuation towards this tiny pooch. He was a Prince, after all, he could do better, couldn't he? Each paw placed in front of each other, the proud dog could only look on at the female. "I pray you stand down," he began, "for lost dinner cannot be a reason to kill." Yeah, it was pretty clear that he was a pampered canine. He was tempted to say that it would be better with the human - it would be better in captivity, but then he realized that he had no words for a dam who would bare fangs at his trainer. "Stand down." He rushed before his trainer, fangs bright with magma as before, lips peeled back to reveal these shimmering bones. "My quarrel is with your attitude!" the arcanine snarled, lunging towards the charging poochyena, mouth agape, readied for the snatch. As soon as he made his capture of the beauty, he looked at her at the corner of his eye. "Not your beauty." It came as a whisper mostly, but it was clear that the passion and charm in his voice had run cold with his attitude. Momentarily, he judged whether or not the poochyena was still conscious and looked to his trainer with the signal. If not fainted: He saw with trainer flick her wrist, and with it came the flash of a greenish yellow ball flashing across his vision. He threw the poochyena up to meet the parkball, and soon, it would hopefully be done with. However, should the poochyena escape the confines of the pokeball, she was met with a blow that would end her regardless. Regardless: Kaizanu ended the match and decided to head off in search of a Dratini or Corphish, seeing that she was already at the beach.

.3 She was HUNGRY...and the human had to have stolen her kill...there was little else going on in the angered mind of the infected puppy as she charged the cause of all her woes at this point, pulling up in shock as the handome arcanine suddenly flashed in between her and the human, speaking. He was with her?! It was confounding, adding to her muddled emotions and mind, as the pokerus worked its way through her system. She threw her head back with an an anguished howl, even as Ruin lunged, flames wreathing his mouth as those fangs pierced her chest, cutting the cry off with a gasp as she was flung into the air, to meet the path of an innocous seeming sphere. The hesitation had been fatal, it seemed, of a sort. In an instant, the little dark lady had beehn converted to energy and captured within the storage device, which landed on the pavement just in front of the arcanine's nose, and wriggled once. Twice. Three times...and stilled. *ping* One heartbroken and hungry hyena puppy is captured. ![]() Lv. 35 13/70 ![]() ~Catch'd |

With the battle ended and Ruin debating the realness of his emotions, he looked to Kaizanu for reassurance. "Nine," he whimpered, wrinkling his brows. He wanted to be friends with the girl, he supposed, but not if she wanted to hurt his trainer. Ruin was unsure now and just wanted a pet from his trainer to know that he had done a job well. "Very good," Kaizanu responded, scratching his head. Soft fur between her fingers, she couldn't help but remember the time when he had been just a young growlithe she adopted. Kaizanu wanted to know him better, learning about his past and how he came to be, but that would be another day. Another story. Now, they had to continue their search for pokemon that were in the gutters, diseased, and capture them for the better cause. "Well, let's start searching," Kaizanu said, rubbing her head as she looked from the ocean to the city. So many pokemon, she suspected, between this place and the next, it would only be a matter of time before they found their next opponent. "There's no real point in staying by the beach," she finally said, starting up the beach back towards the city. She was sure that the city streets would be more heavily populated, after all, the beach seemed desolate. Once back into the city, Kaizanu looked through the alleys and dumpsters. Under cars was also a popular place to look. They split to look on the different sides of the street. Hoping to be able to find more pokemon soon, Kaizanu made sure to check every nook and cranny. As long as she was there, might as well make a sizable dent in the recovered pokemon. They were all going to go berserk and become even more dangerous - hopefully they could be saved before then.

.3 And so they went on, and through the city, which though supposedly teeming with trainers and pokemon infected with the pokerus...seemed strangely empty. Perhaps this particular section had been cleaned out by the poochyena trio, or something else, it was hard to say. Still, there had to be a reason for it. "Ssscy...." A faint hiss from above was all the warning they recieved. Abruptly, they were no longer alone in the street, and the likely reason for the emptiness of the streets stood before them, blades crusted with something rusty red-brown, eyes gleaming as the wings on his back fluttered in preparation for the finishing strike. For, he was an artist. Let his image strike fear into the prey, and then behead them, yes. It was elegant, and they deserved the chance to look death in the face before it claimed them, didn't they? It was always amusing to see how they reacted... ~~~~~~~~~~ ![]() Lv. 50 150/150

Above them! Kaizanu and Ruin jumped back, looking up simultaneously. That sound was familiar and Ruin whimpered. Despite being a fire type, the fire dog was outclassed by sheer brute power. He, in turn, hid behind Kaizanu, which was uncharacteristic of him. "Don't worry. The Final Defense will be our wall," she said, quickly reacting to the enemy. She threw out a pokeball in his direction, though a momentary thought occurred - what if the Final Defense failed? She won't, Kaizanu reassured herself, pulling herself back as the pokeball cracked open. She had never asked this beast to battle for her, but she had gotten to know her, and what she did know was that she was dependable. Materializing, the white light darkened to silver, a massive beast, taller than a tyranitar, but smaller than a feraligatr, stood tall. Twin horns shined bright in the sunlight, fists cracked as the armored pokemon grinned. "Strut your stuff!" A deep metallic growl issued from her throat, "It'll be my pleasure." Artemis looked imposingly down at the scyther, cracking her fingers, releasing a few pops. Soon, her intimidating looks changed to a grin. She recognized a fellow artist whenever she saw one. Shaking out her arms and loosening up her body, she stretched before feeling the beat again. "Yo, my bro - let's dance! I won't fight dirty, 'cause you already are," she rapped. "Me and my beat'll get you to groove - Think fast!" she warned. Artemis waved her hands in front of her before directing them deep into the earth. Broken, the dust turned to mud and it flew in the direction of the scyther, just to make him fly up, not to hurt him. Then she continued to taunt the bladed artist. Whatever his blades meant to him, meant nothing to this tanker. "Keep dodgin', boy! You ain't the only one with the moves to be Number One! I'm freakin' R-T, the Final Defense. I'm a wall who'll beat yo ass to next weekend!" As the mud flew from her paw, Artemis sprang from her legs to walk on her hands. Armor plating clicked together as a groaning sound creaked from her joints. She grinned - she liked that kind of sound. This is Industrial Break Dancing! She swirled the ground, building momentum with her arms, spinning her around faster and faster; her only qualm was with her horns at this point, she couldn't spin on her head. Pushing off from the ground, Artemis twisted and began to spin on her smooth back, spinning with the same speed a rapid spinning squirtle might attack with. She tail adjusted as she spun, aimed to wipe the scyther clear out of the sky. If anything, the attack was amazing, after all, the power and size of an aggron - break dancing! "Just so you know, my bro, This is why I'm so B-A and bold. You can't keep up with my cool. So! Stay down. Stay down. Hey! R-T's my name, the Final Defense!" Rolling back and then forward again, Artemis leaped back onto her feet, striking a pose with her arms crossed over her chest, head tilted back. Kaizanu stepped next to her pokemon, grinning, patting the armored pokemon on her shoulder. "You're too awesome." With a parkball ready, Kaizanu did her job - throwing the ball. Although, that doesn't seem quite so awesome as the performance that just happened. In the meantime, Ruin's jaw dropped.

.4 Awesomesauce. The Scyther's eyes grew wider as the metallic beast did a small routine; but music was a thing of his. The Pokerus virus ran through his veins, making him more aggressive but it didn't matter to his music taste. The screeching, the sound of rock against metal, plus the rhythmic rapping - all these added up together into a miasma of magical music in his head. He raised his scythes high in the air, hips moving insanely. He had his moves; and he'd show it to this Aggron in a dance-off. The scythes bathed in a white energy as he summoned up power, pure brute force, his innate beast. The Pokerus virus pushed more of this power outwards, the Swords Dance reaching into a climax as the dirt was thrown; the mud blinded him slightly, but didn't throw him off-balance. And as Artemis got ready to do a whole routine, the Scyther formed a X with his scythes and crashed them down onto Artemis. She shrugged it off and slammed a tail into him. That had to hurt. The ball flew in a graceful arc. Wobble, wobble and through brute will, the Scyther popped out again, chest heaving in a heavy pant. His scythes were poised again, ready to attack. ![]() 140/180VS ![]() 30/150Atk + 2, Acc - 1 |

"Really?" Artemis sighs after a moment once the scyther reappeared. She tilted her head up, as if to expose her eyes from under a hat. Looking skeptically at Kaizanu, Artemis had a goofy smile. "That was anticlimatic, trainer of mine. Must be your failure." The beast gave a metallic laugh, though Kaizanu could only understand the sarcasm rather than the words. "Well... I suppose it's my fault. It wasn't weak enough?" Kaizanu asked, trying to get the answer right, but obviously Artemis did not seem quite amused enough. "Alright. It was totally my fault." With that, the tiny titan nodded, pleased. "Though, I'm saying right now: I don't have any more music for this scyther... Yeah, I'm all mused up," Artemis smiled, trying to find the finest innocent face. Basically, in the most easily explained way, Artemis was refusing to fight any further, because she didn't want to fight her opponents distastefully, without a tune to go with her. After a moment, Kaizanu got the idea. "Fine. Remind me to get you a boom box later," she replied, withdrawing the metal pokemon. Without further delay, she released her companion to help lower the scyther's defenses. "Ease up on the attack," Kaizanu said, tossing the gator a parkball. "Make sure the scyther is secured, though." It was a relatively simple plan, but after Artemis's flamboyance, the dark-haired trainer would not argue the plain. Akita nodded. Parkball in hand, she observed it. It was the first time she had ever seen a strangely colored pokeball, but she liked the smooth texture and shiny, unmarred surface of the new parkball. Recalling the first time she was placed into a pokeball, Akita wondered if it had that "new pokeball smell." Looking up eventually, she saw the scyther with scythes ready to peel skin from meat. Then fillet. Speaking of fillet, Akita could go for one. In the meantime, though, the white gator would do her job - it was a new one, but it would be interesting. As she concentrated, a gauntlet appeared on her arm, and then superimposed armor. Covered, like a knight in clefairytales, Akita charged, anger in her soul, not because she was truly angry, but because she felt a sudden boiling Rage in her mind. A swift cuff to the scyther, Akita attempted to pin the beast, quickly going in with the parkball, slamming the button on the wild scyther, to capture it, of course. The white feraligatr was in no mood for lallygagging.

.3 (Short and sucky and not nearly worth your lovely posts...but I'm trying to get people one more opportunity or whatnot on things before this ends or things answered or whatever.) The scyther was pinned beneath the much greater mass of the white alligator, hissing in fury as he found another of those green and white spheres shoved into his face and got sucked within. Unfortunately, apparently...scythers are almost as much of a bitch to catch as a lapras, if the catch calculator is to believe, and he fights his way out once more, panting. "Scyyy..." he cries, swiping at the allgator as he dodged away. It wasn't as effective as he would have hoped...in the shape he was in, it wasn't nearly his best. :akita ![]() Lv. 60 209/243 ![]() vs. ![]() Lv. 50 10/150 ![]() ~ Failed catch |

Again, the scyther managed to break free of the parkball's hold. It didn't surprise Kaizanu, seeing how strong he was, holding his own against two of her strongest pokemon, and still standing. But, enough was enough, and this had to end - this would be the last pokemon she caught before the end of the tournament, she had become determined. "Akita, support Gimpy, he can't hold his own against this scyther!" she called out, throwing a third pokemon onto the field. No sooner was the order issued, Akita quickly stepped in, shielding herself and trying to take any blows with her own body, instead of letting the moth take them. He was a weaker pokemon, but he had his own merits. Squaring off with the hard pressed scyther, Akita kept a careful eye on him, ready to move in the moth's defense, just as she had been asked. Behind her, Gimpy narrowed his eyes, though one remained unseeing from his troubled past. He caught the eyes of his enemy and sent a brief psychic blast outward, meant to disable the scyther's chance to attack. Once he finished executing his disabling technique, the bug flew up high, tattered wings sounding about as elegant as a bat fluttering through the air. Slowly, spores appeared as fine yellow dust, blanketing the field and the green pokemon. Slowly, if the spores entered the scyther's system properly, he would fall prey to sudden spasms that would not allow him to move, but otherwise... Kaizanu did not want to think about it. "Lay it on like old man winter does snow in Italicus," Kaizanu said, quickly rummaging through her bag, grabbing all the parkballs she can in the moment. She quickly throws one, with a second ready, then a third if needed, followed by more, if she had to. Kaizanu was determined to capture this scyther, even if she had to start using her own pokeballs.

.3 (Oh, blah. I intended to have Protect work last round to prevent any damage...and yet still managed to forget that by the time I finished. >.> So it gets a full free success here, instead. Sorry about that. *mutters to self* Baka.) And yet another pokemon pops out onto the field, this one ready to freeze the scyther where he stands in multiple ways. The bug's speed wasn't to be underestimated, however, as he blazed out of sight, intending to take this thing out before it could pull anything off. Only to be met by a wall of white, and an inpenetrable barrier. With a shried of rage, the bug bounced off, finding his memory of how to repeat that blocked out of his consciouslness, even as the battered venomoth dropped spores over the insect. And...Scythers really are a bitch. Even at 10 HP, and paralyzed...there's still only a 1 in 4 shot of catching it, according to the calculator. :/ Evil. After the bug is twitching from the spores, however, the trainer hurls another ball at it, determined now to catch the persistent beast. The ball once more slams into the bug, and converts it into energy, sucking said energy inside and snapping shut. It wiggles once. Then twice. And whaddaya know. The RNG was nice. *PING* Have a nice day. ![]() Lv. 50 10/150 ![]() ~Paralyzed ~Quick Attack Disabled ~Not that the above matters, as it's catch'd...but hey. The three pokemon involved all get .5
