((There's a second spoiler tag within Celeste's spoiler tag in my sig showing which team she's using here. Hope that's okay!)) Celeste was still a little bit drowzy when she took her Park Balls from the man in front of her. The trip here had been draining, and she had a bad habit of never quite sleeping properly the first time in a new bed, and so she noticed a faint look of concern on the man's face when he saw her. She flashed him a smile. "Don't worry. I'm prepared." He didn't seem overly convinced, but it wasn't his job to worry over the safety of the trainers entering this contest. As soon as she'd left the man behind, she looked at the pokeballs she'd been given. Twenty balls. Hopefully, there would be twenty pokemon to place within them. She didn't intend to waste a single one. Celeste hadn't entered this contest for any prizes, nor was her mind on the idea of keeping one of her catches. She wasn't here to hunt with free pokeballs, or to train in the only place left to do so. She was here for the reason the contest was made in the first place. She was here to remove pokemon from places they could do people harm, and allow them to recover from PokeRUS and go back home to the wild. Like always, her mission was to help others. However, her form of 'helping' was going to be fought every step of the way, so she had put together a team perfect for these hostile conditions. Pulling out a pair of pokeballs, she let out her two main combatants. Sting, the beedrill, stretched and scanned the area around for hostiles before relaxing and giving a small nod and buzz. Aphrodite, the buneary, appeared in a flash and looked around at the tall buildings before looking up expectantly. Celeste looked at them. "Okay, guys. You two are my toughest fighters, and I'm going to need you for this. There are pokemon crawling all over the city, and we need to catch as many as we can so they can be brought back home. We can't knock any of them out. Understand?" Aphrodite nodded in an approving manner, and Sting buzzed. "Good." The other four would be kept in their pokeballs for their own safety, but she had the locations on her belt of each of their pokeballs memorized so that she was able to let them out at moment's notice to use their specialties. Jasmine, her chikorita, had Reflect for much-needed defense, Hunter and Ace, her chatot and glameow, each had moves that could put the pokemon to sleep, and little Dizzy, her baby rotom, would be able to confuse and paralyze the pokemon for an even easier capture. None of them were as tough as the others, however, and little Dizzy would probably pass out if one of these PokeRUS-infected pokemon so much as sneezed on her. That was why she had to be careful, and not be taken by surprise. "Sting, take to the air. Aphrodite, keep both ears out. There are supposed to be hoards of them out here." Sting nodded and flew up scout out above, and Aphrodite's sharp ears twitched as she tried to take in every little sound. --- Lvl 19 57/57[Scouting from the air] Lvl 23 69/69[Listening for trouble] |

Gen.EXP; 0.3 ------------- Immediately, Celeste was confronted with her will to be righteous and an obvious offender of her ways. Small, but clearly ready to take on the enemy that had so precariously wandered into her territory, the bear growled loudly, nose wrinkling in disdain. Fangs were bright - bright red. Claws dripped with the fine liquid and the teddiursa's probably soft fur was stained and crusted. This pokemon had been able to hold her own against the multitude of trainers, enemy pokemon, and authorities for a while. For Celeste, this pokemon was harsh and probably ready to destroy her pokemon like the countless before. Each rising growl and bristling of her fur by the sea breeze coming from behind made her appear even stronger than she was. Stronger, perhaps, due to her virus. Before, she had made her home in the depths of Forest of Fury, but now, had found her way to Brightopolis like many other pokemon. In the forest, she was renowned as a upcoming champion, but since her fatal diagnosis... it is a wonder no one has yet to capture her. Bubbles rimmed her mouth, twitching lips causing some of the viral foam to coat the ground directly below her. The Forest of Fury was known for its unreasonable pokemon, but the resulting combination of already-vicious pokemon with a ferocity-increasing virus could be deadly - for the person. The teddiursa barely allowed Celeste's gaze fade from her attention, throwing her tiny, sharpened claws together creating an audible clang. Carried on her rather short legs, the bloody ball of fury began to charge the buneary and beedrill. She meant business as she roared towards her new found opponents. Now, it would be a test to put down this teddy, but if Celeste truly believed in the righteousness of the world, this would be no problem at all. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why we don't mess with Smokey the Bear. ------- *PokeRUS-Style Rabies*Lv. 19 57/57- Foaming at the mouth, bloody claws. Grr. |

0.3 ![]() Celeste was faced with a creature out of her childhood nightmares; the sight of the bloodstained bear sent a chill through her body, and she practically felt her two companions tense as the bear clapped her claws together. Celeste was truly seeing the extent to which PokeRUS could twist its host; Aphrodite and her capture was like dealing with a cuddly kitten by comparison. Celeste's expression hardened as she reached for her belt, knowing that there would be nothing she could do or say to make peace; there would have to be a fight. But there wouldn't have be any more blood, she thought as she plucked a pokeball and tossed it out onto the field. Sting had already taken to the air, and Aphrodite clenched her fists in preparation for meeting the teddiursa's charge. Ace, her faithful glameow, appeared in a burst of light and only needed to see the bear to know what he was to do. Celeste saw fit to tell him, anyway, if only for the benefit of the others so that they knew how he slotted into her carefully-coordinated strategy. "Ace, Fake Out and Hypnosis!" The cat sped off to intertupt the bear's charge the moment the words left her mouth. "Affy, Quick Attack and Defense Curl! Sting, Agility and Rage!" The point was to disable the teddiursa as quickly as possible, using the fact that the bear was comparatively slow against her. Ace's move would freeze her in place, leaving an opening for Aphrodite's strike, Sting would use his new speed to come in and bash the bear with the blunt edges of his spikes, and then Ace would send her straight for dreamland. If it didn't work, Aphrodite was there to take the counterattack she knew would come, and Ace would be back into his pokeball before you could say, 'pikachu.' In fact, Celeste was already holding up Ace's pokeball, ready to recall him the moment his sleep-inducing attack was finished, no matter the outcome. In her other hand was one of her Park Balls, but she wasn't going to use it right away. She had to make sure it would work the first time. --- Lvl 13 39/39[Fake Out --> Hypnosis] (recalling after attacks) Lvl 23 69/69[Quick Attack --> Defense Curl] Lvl 19 57/57[Agility --> Rage] vs Lvl 19 57/57

0.3 ![]() Foam bubbling at the teddy's mouth? Check. Bloody claws ready to be bathed in more blood? Check. Rabid bear cub charging a seemingly defenseless girl(?)? Check. And finding itself at the mercy of your Pokemon? Check - no wait, THAT SORT OF THING HAD NOT HAPPENED YET! But it will be. As soon as the words left your mouth, three blurs sped out towards the charging rabid bear cub. Seeing as to how the attacks were played out, and the speed of the Pokemon, it was the Buneary who struck first. The bunny slammed into the rabid teddy, causing it to lose its balance. Before it could regain its footing, the paws of the cat smacked it right on the face. The bunny joined the cat as they withdrew to allow room for the bee to strike the stricken bear cub. The offense done, the bear cub rose to its feet. Normally, it would start crying at that point to lower your guard, but it's infected with rabies. Instead, it prepared itself for another charge when its eyes met with those of the hypnotic gaze of the cat. Feeling woozy on its feet, the bear cub went bye-bye to dreamland. 0.2 ![]() Ace vanished into pokeball the moment his Hypnosis took hold, and Celeste gave the pokeball a squeeze, letting out the breath she'd been holding in a relieved sigh. Sting swooped in for another attack, still somewhat enraged despite not being counterattacked. Aphrodite, catching sight of this, ran over and hopped up to grab one of his legs and yank him down to the ground. He struggled for a moment until clarity returned and he resumed his usual calm, but Aphrodite still held him there for lack of anything better to do as their trainer approached the sleeping bear. Celeste knelt down in front of the slumbering teddiursa and watched her laying there a moment. In sleep, Celeste thought she saw a hint of the cute little bear she may have been, had this not happened to her. Then she rolled her eyes at her own sentimental nature, telling herself that the insane bear had probably been dangerous already, and PokeRUS had just taken what was and intensified it. For all she knew, this teddiursa had always been vicious. Still, there was a chance she hadn't been, and holding the little pokemon responsible for her actions at this point was unfair. She deserved the second chance that came with the cure. Celeste raised the Park Ball in her hand and let go, letting it gently land button-down on the teddiursa and activate. She got up and took a couple of steps back, gesturing for her two pokemon to back off as well. With the thorough smacking she'd gotten, plus the deep sleep, hopefully the teddiursa would be caught and she could move on. If not, well, they'd be ready for round two if need be. --- Lvl 23 69/69[Watching warily] Lvl 19 57/57[Also watching warily] vs Lvl 19 27/57[Asleep] (using Park Ball) |

0.3 ![]() Sweet dreams are made in the land of slumber. One can see many potential futures; ones in which there is freedom and love, and some where there are riches, fame and power. Some are simple fantasies, some are goals and hopes. There are also nightmares; deep, dark dreams of fears and phobias that can not be released anywhere else, intensified only by the uncontrollable nature of the dream state. There are many things that happen inside the mind of a creature when they are not awake. This particular little critter was having a nightmare. A big, bad, scary dream where she only wanted her mommy to hold her and protect her from. There was a bad person with a big cage chasing after her. She was running as fast as her little legs would take her, trying to simply escape the one that wanted to put her in an enclosure. She was being chased relentlessly, and three more men came out to try and get her, too. She wanted to be free, she wanted to be safe, she wanted her mommy- But one of them was too fast for her. He hit her across the head, making her fall to the ground, and she couldn't get up from all the pain she was feeling. The woman came closer, holding up the cage with a malicious smile, and plucked the Teddiursa cub up and shoved her into that cage, sealing it and locking it, and the little teddy was crying, begging, pleading to be set free. But none would answer her cries of pain and misery. Little did she know it wasn't a dream. Celeste had just gained a new Pokémon - an afraid little teddy that she had just put in a cage of time and space. ----- gains 0.4 ! gains 0.4 ! Lv. 19 is captured!

0.4 You're awful. Also, wouldn't my Glameow get experience, too?Celeste watched the Park Ball warp away, and she closed her eyes and let out a sigh. She really hated doing this, but what choice did she have? At least this way the teddiursa would get better and get to go home rather than wandering around in the city until someone less inclined to help the pokemon bashed her up and left her for dead. Celeste loathed to think anyone would do that, but she had a feeling in her gut that many people considered this to be the ultimate training ground. She toyed with Ace's pokeball, casting a small glance over her shoulder at Sting and Aphrodite. Both had already gone to their respective places, the beedrill flying up high to scout for trouble and the buneary pricking her ears forward to catch any sounds. Celeste just found her mind wandering, asking herself how they were going to get all the pokemon home. She imagined that there were DNA markers that made populations different and would allow them to get every pokemon to their respective homes. At least, she hoped they were going to do something like that instead of simply dumping X number of X species in X habitat they were native to. That could break up friends and families, leave pokemon in places they didn't know how to live in despite being of a species that technically could. That would be easier, certainly, but easy didn't always mean right. There was really little she could do, unless she intended to return every pokemon to their proper homes herself, a goal she doubted the contest officials would approve of. They wouldn't believe in her pure intentions and think she just wanted to keep all of her catches. Not that their being cynical wasn't a good thing in the cases where that assumption was an accurate one. Her two companions were neither aware of her thoughts, nor would they have much sympathy if they were. Sting just plain wouldn't be able to fathom them and Aphrodite, while not a cold pokemon, persay, didn't really see much point in worrying about things that couldn't be changed. What mattered was what they could do, which was find and catch these pokemon before someone who wasn't interested in capture found them. Or they found eachother. So, it was just a young woman, her beedrill, and her buneary strolling through the streets of the infested city, waiting for another rabid monster, who may or may not be a decent creature beneath the disease's influence, to leap out and attack them so that they could capture them for their own good. She really hoped that, when this virus died out, it stayed dead. --- Park Balls: 19 Caught: Teddiursa, , level 19--- Lvl 19 57/57[Scouting from the air again] Lvl 23 69/69[Listening for trouble again] Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Nov 5 2009, 11:12 PM.

0.3 I know! :D I love PokéRUS, it lets me screw you all over so very easily. And... hmm, technically, yes. Adjust it for .3 each. I spent a while trying to work that one out. =xNot everything of this virus necessarily needed to be bad, per se. While this virus brought out the worst, most bloodthirsty traits in some Pokémon, such as the rabid Zangoose that was out to kill everything in sight over in the Rocky Ruinlands, there were also some good qualities that could be seen as useful. Well, okay. You didn't really need to know what happened here. Needless to say, that trashcan was moving far more than it needed to, and with a lot more noises than... well, if it were humans making those noises, you'd shut the door, bang on the wall, and tell them to either put their pants back on or shut the hell up. Disgusting? Very. The sound of approaching humans and buzzing wings, however, snapped this particular couple out of their pleasurable reverie, and both of them stumbled in a rather uncoordinated fashion out of the bin they were using as their temporary love shack, and both of them turned out to be Nidoran, of opposing genders. This meant a few different things - both of their eyes were bloodshot, as if their libidos had been boosted by the virus, too. They were in a rather defensive stance now, unsure whether to attack or to flee their potential enemies. They were sure as heck ready to fight if they had to, though. Re-populating the world with more of the little critters. In Celeste's eyes, was this such a bad thing? After all, it was a natural thing, but even so. Having walked in on it... maybe not so fun, yeah? ----- ![]() Lv. 18, 54/54 ![]() ![]() Lv. 19, 57/57

0.4 ...You just picked the absolute best thing to scar my poor trainer with, you know that?Aphrodite's face scrunched up and she grabbed her ears to yank them down and block out the noises she was hearing. Celeste, not having the sharp ears of a buneary, didn't realize what was bothering her until she saw a trashcan doing a jig and she, too, heard what was going on. Now, Celeste lived with her brother and his fiance, and this should not have been a situation that was overly new to her. Unfortunately, despite what made sense given her past, this was a woman who turned into a blushing statue at the sight of an affectionate couple that was within the bounds of acceptable public behaviour, let alone this. While Sting merely flew down to hover next to her at the sight of the strange trashcan, having no idea what was bothering the girls, Celeste's eyes were tightly shut despite there being nothing to see, and her face had turned a shade of crimson comparable to her hair. By Arceus above, why her? Why why why why why? By every Legendary that had ever wandered the land, sea, or sky, why was she was the one who had to find the attempts of the wildlife to repopulate the region? Aphrodite watched the two stumble out with mild annoyance, looking from one to the other. "And they make jokes about my species..." Yeah, they had what she had, only PokeRUS had obviously messed with different chemicals than adrenaline. A vaguely interesting developement, she supposed. However, the pretty young buneary was just hoping these poisonous rats were monogamous poisonous rats, because if that male acted on any bright ideas entering his mind, she would Jump Kick him halfway to the moon, trainer's orders or no. Right now, though, her job was reviving her immobile trainer. Aphrodite gave Celeste's leg a prod, and the woman let out a surprised squeak, stumbling back and landing on her backside. She blinked between her buneary, who was rolling her eyes, and the two nidoran. Sting buzzed quizzically at her, and Aphrodite gave her a similar look. What now? Since the two poison types weren't trying to gnaw any of her limbs off, Celeste was inclined, as she always was, to talk. "Uh, sorry!" she managed to get out, her voice a few notes higher than usual, "I didn't realize, I mean, I didn't mean to, uh, interrupt anything." She got back to her feet, brushing off her jeans in an attempt to distract herself and fight down her blush. It didn't really work. Aphrodite sighed, figuring this was probably the point when she was supposed to shove her disgust aside and take one for the team. The buneary took a small hop forward and ran a paw over her ears as if nervous, then took one of her forepaws in the other and smiled softly. "We really are sorry," she lied through the smile, working her charms on the most obvious threat, the male. "But this isn't a very safe place. There are some pretty dangerous trainers around here." Celeste, even if it was inadvertantly, was easily playing the part of the 'not dangerous' trainer, still refusing to even look in their direction despite the act long being over. Aphrodite sighed and gestured toward Celeste. "Doesn't have a mate," she explained, figuring that was reason enough for her squeamishness. --- Lvl 19 57/57[Hovering back and looking confused] Lvl 23 69/69[Trying to be friendly; Charm on the male] |

Gen.EXP; 0.3 ------------- It was in the land of love and lust that war was also allowed, and there are, of course, no rules in either of these games, so I wonder why what had gone through the male nidoran's brain. For a moment, he seemed to pause, disgusted by the human's disgust, but his silence allowed his eyes to wander upon the sweetest of sights. Beauty with curly fur and eve-like face, the green-eared darker purple pokemon flushed red as she winked his way. It was not as if the buneary really winked, but as you all know, there are times in life where it is tempting to imagine things that don't really happen. One of these times is now, however fortunate or unfortunate. Sparks all around and fire burning in the male's eyes, he felt as if he were floating on cloud nine. His female counterpart, who might as well been his sister at this point, was ignored like last tuesday's news. With his back turned to her, not in a protective way anymore, the female reared on her back legs to shout, "Niiii!" quite angry with the current situation. Landing solidly on her front legs as would suggest that they are strong due to the stoutness of the pokemon, the lighter, maybe lilac-colored nidoran lowered his hornless forehead and rammed her annoying, untrustworthy lover as if to say, "How dare you!" Headbutting continuously did not do much in terms of winning back her long lost affection, so it is another thought to wonder what the male was doing. He turned his side to the female, willingly taking the blows, and it only when he made it to the buneary's side did he turn on his one-night-stand and fling her away. Returning his attention to the lovely brown-eyed beauty before him he said, "So... you come here often?" Covered in a stray banana peel, the female looked indignantly upon the male and buneary. Really, who was her enemy? The male who had dumped her as if a blow up doll or the buneary who had charmed the male from her grasps? Both! Both were her enemy! And to all, please recall that one familiar saying about hell and women and their scorn. --- Lv. 18 44/54Versus (Oh, what jealousy will do.) 0.3 ![]() Seeing the nidoran toss the female aside like that made Aphrodite want to pummel him. Her Charm attack may make her non-threatening, but it certainly didn't actively ensnare the heart. No, he was just another of those fairweather admirers that took off as soon as they were done with a female or things suddenly got tough. Just like that male who ran off and left her back in the jungle. She hadn't really believed it at the time, but Jasmine had been right; he had been a jerk and a coward, and now she just wanted to deck this purple rat and get out of here. And, trainer loyalty be damned, that's what she was going to do. She looked from the furious female to the lustful male and clenched her teeth. "I...I can't believe you just did that!" She didn't care if his scorned ex-lover still wanted to gut her after this, because right now she was doing this for herself. "You really think I'm going to be the least bit interested after seeing that? You...you..." Stars exploded from her fist, surrounding it. "You jerk!" Celeste had heard the anger in her buneary's voice, but couldn't react fast enough to stop Aphrodite from hurling her fist straight at the male nidoran's face. Sting immediately took to the air; this was something he understood, and he began darting around in an attempt to build up his speed, just like he always did. So much for peaceful captures. That would teach him not to go cheating on his woman. Though now it seems the female Nidoran was angry that Aphrodite had attacked her man. Even if he had cheated on her she was the only one who could kick his butt. "Hey tramp! How dare you attack him! He was mine!" The female snarled as she turned and shot poisoned needles into the bunny's small body. Aphrodite felt sick from the poison seeping into her skin. Well this couldn't be good. 0.2 ![]() Aphrodite's teeth gnashed as the poisonous spines sent venom racing through her veins. She felt sick to her stomach, but tore toward the female anyway, fist pulled back to deliver another punch. She had no words for her new opponent; if she wanted to join her unfaithful lover, Aphrodite was more than happy to oblidge. That was when Sting struck, tearing toward the female nidoran with his newly-increased speed, sending two blows with the pointed ends of his stingers toward her, eyes flashing in his single-minded drive to fight. He knew nothing about what had happened, about the nature of the interaction and why things had gone south. Sting didn't need to know in order to fight. Aphrodite, however, merely froze, her attack ending long before she could get close enough to the nidoran. She found his swooping in rather sweet, in an odd sort of way. Teammate loyalty and all that. Though she was pretty sure he had no idea that he looked like an insectoid white knight right now, she still appreciated the assistance, and sat down to focus on fighting down the sick feeling in her stomach. Gen.EXP; 0.3 ------------- The battle was dragging out and seemed to be taking forever, so I'm going to make sure you know that you can use two-move combos, instead of only using one move at a time. This will help you in your endeavors, no doubt, but in the meantime, let's return to the action on the field. Sting dives in, jabbing at the female nidoran with expertise, though it was not effective. The poison in her veins was more powerful than any the beedrill would ever produce, after all, according to her pokedex entry, only a single drop could result in fatality. In a rage, before the beedrill could lift again, the nidoran female wheeled around, front fangs grabbing and tearing at one of his legs. Flying in a spiral, caused by his imbalance, the beedrill swirled up, quickly gaining air to get away from the deadly serious female. Loudly protesting, she was struck in the side with a pokeball, unpleasantly driving the mechanisms to suck her into its confines. The pokeball closed with ease and rocked - breaking open, her form rearing up, clearly angered at the thought that this human assumed she could capture her in her state of anger. 0.3 ![]() If there was one thing Sting wasn't, it was inclined to change tactics. Celeste had not given him any indication to do otherwise, so he merely swooped in to deliver another pair of strikes, and then another, willing to take whatever the furious poison type dished out. Just like his venom was useless against her, she could nothing to poison him, and, even if she could, he had no fear of whatever pain she could cause him. Aphrodite, on the other hand, was content enough to hop over to Celeste's side and watch from the sidelines. Coward she wasn't, and she still felt battle-ready despite the feeling of her stomach rebelling on her, but she knew that Celeste wanted to catch everything they encountered, and the pair of them reducing the nidoran to a mushy paste didn't further that goal. Celeste glanced at the ill rabbit and gave a small smile. "You want back in?" Aphrodite shook her head; not until they'd dealt with the female nidoran and she was sure her trainer wasn't the next one to be poisoned. Celeste readied another Park Ball, really hoping that this would be the end of it. --- Lvl 23 50/69[Poisoned] [Standing back; Quick Attack if Celeste is attacked] Lvl 19 41/57[Speed + 1] [Twineedle x 2] vs Lvl 18 32/54

.3 And there was lots of stabbing going on. The nido squealed as she was poked and prodded by sharp and pointy thigns...then there was another ball cracking her upside the head. Wiggle. Wiggle. *ping* Yay. Or something. ![]() Lv. 18 20/54 ![]() *catch'd* Sting and Aphrodited each get .4
