"Here you are, miss, your Park Balls. Good luck!"

Eisen raised an eyebrow at the guard, taking the pack of Pokeballs and putting it in her pocket as she strolled past him. The man blinked as her trio of Pokemon followed her, the Larvitar stomping behind and glaring at him, the Murkrow flapping lazily though the air, and the Buizel waddling alongside. It wasn't the Pokemon that kept his attention, though, as he watched the woman walk away, into the city.

"You totally did that on purpose," Coyote said once they were out of earshot, landing on her shoulder. She pretended to ignore him, for a second anyways, since she knew what he was talking about. It was exceptionally easy to move in such a way that made the men take notice.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," she grinned, pausing at a street corner and unclipping her cape and folding it up.

"You swinging your hips like that," Coyote cawed, landing on a light pole and peering down at her. She pulled off her hat, and tucked her cape in... along with her cane. Both items disappeared into the hammerspace, and she collapsed her hat and stuck it in her vest.

"Heh, it's just way too easy Coy... way too easy," she looked down at the other two.

Arkham was standing still, arms crossed and looking around. A thin hiss came from her throat, but as usual, she did nothing else. She just stood, like an ominous little hissing statue. Nack was a little more animated, standing on his hind paws and stretched out as far as he could be, looking around with nose twitching.

"Yeah, yeah. You guys are anxious, I know. Let's go see what we can find, hm?" she waved the three of them to follow her, and started in the direction of the ocean. She didn't expect to find anything interesting once there, but still. It was something to shoot for, if just for the sake of doing it.

In theory, wild Pokemon should be jumping out at them to do battle, but the black bird flying above was still keeping an eye out for anything, and the sea weasel's nose was still twitching, trying to find any interesting scents.

Eisen had no particular Pokemon in mind, so they were just on the prowl for whatever decided to jump out at them and do battle. She was going to catch it, either way.

Clouds began to form in the sky, rolling in over the docks Eisen and her crew of pokemon were on their way toward. Just as first raindrops began to fall, a shape burst out of the water, a large blue orb that spun through the air, water flying everywhere, as it tore straight toward Coyote.

It missed horribly, however, and landed on the opposite side of the assembled group and uncurled. The Marill panted lightly, then scowled and got into a fighting stance. Then another shape leaped from the water, but this one merely landed on the dock, a faint glow leaving its eyes as it made a single move as if ending a dance.

Two Marill, ready for combat, and they weren't taking 'no' for an answer.

The rain was... not really startling, but it wasn't expected either. Eisen quirked an eyebrow as she looked up at the falling rain, before Coyote's squawk for her attention.

The Murkrow flapped up, seeing the blur blur shoot under him and unroll behind them, revealing a Maril. There was one on the dock that appeared too, sort of surrounding them.

"Go get 'em guys!"

She jumped a little when something zapped out of her pocket, forming into her Rotom in midair. Portal buzzed, sending off a shockwave for the Marril that had failed its strike.

Coyote and Nack took off after the other one, the sea weasel shooting like a blur to smack into her. After contact, he hopped back and spun his tails around in a swipe. Tiny, bright stars shot out, shooting for the one he'd just attacked, and the other that Portal was dealing with.

Coyote was right behind him, tucking his wings in and going into a spiraling peck maneuver.

Arkham went to follow, but Eisen reached down to stop her, "Nope, you're helping me. Let's see if we can catch these two quick," she handed the Larvitar a Park Ball, having one more in her hand as well, "When they're done, throw that at the one on the dock, alright?"

The Larvitar looked down at the ball in her hand, then up at the female. She wanted to fight, but didn't like the splattering water against her armor, so this was fine... she supposed. She waddled over so she could get close enough and chuck the ball at the female.

Eisen was keeping a keen eye on the male, and threw her own Park Ball once Portal was done attacking. The sooner they caught these two, the better. She was hoping it would all be this simple.

This wasn't like any other catching contest, really. Everything was infected with a virus that meant that Pokémon were more prone to attacking things, and hey, that was exactly what these guys were all doing. Attacking.

The Buizel was in there nice and quickly, followed up by his allies; their various strikes, from a Thunder Wave which paralyzed the male Marill, the all-encompassing Swift, and the general ferocious response from Eisen's team meant there was a disorientated but not disheartened pair of Marill standing there ready to fight. And they fought back hard.

The male Marill, not happy with what happened previously, continued his Rollout, intent on hitting something - that something ended up being Nack, who took a solid hit to the proverbial guts as the rolling blue... thing whacked it one nice and solid. The female Marill attacked Coyote with a swarm of flying bubbles, intensely packed and high in density, swarming the poor bird with a Bubblebeam.

BUt with one paralyzed and both weakened, a second round of attacks put them on the back foot and, when the Park Balls flew, they could hardly offer any resistance to the powerful crew.

Two captured Marill.

Ding! That hadn't been too difficult.

Eisen realized with a start that this was the first technical capture of a Pokemon she'd ever made. Coyote was her 'starter', she stole Nack from someone, Portal possessed her Poketech and wouldn't leave, and she got Arkham out of a jail cell.

"Shame I have no interested in a Maril," she chuckled, picking up one of the Park Balls since the other had zipped off to never never land. Oh something, she didn't know nor care how it worked.

It was still raining, which was fine. Nack looked like he was enjoying it. He and Coyote were hurt, though, but it couldn't be helped.

"Let's get the hell outta this rain," she mumbled, waving her crew off back into the city. She had a Pokemon that she wanted to look for in the water but... well.

She'd never find it now, so she didn't figure she'd try. She didn't quite feel lucky enough.

So, they headed back into the city to get out of the rain and find something else to catch.

Fortunately for you, once the battle was over, the rainclouds dispersed. It's like magic, I tell you! MAGIC!!!

Anyways, here you are, running back to the city when there was not even a single raindrop at all. The sun beat down on you, quite harshly in fact. This kind of heat feels sort of...odd. It feels like you are trying to cross a desert.

This heat, plus the ominous feeling that you are experiencing, makes for quite an unbearable combination. The buildings towered over you, ominous and silent. However, they also provide plenty of shade that you can use to hide from the unusual heat.

A couple of shadows fell over you, and you look up to see what looked like a couple of seeds on the top of a canopy railing. One of the seed's eyes stopped glowing, and the two leaped down from the railing. The bottom of those acorn seeds looked awfully sharp. Better watch out.

Alright so... more things. That she didn't really care about. Oh well. Had to catch everything~ Eisen got the absurd thought "gotta catch 'em all" in her head for a second as she dipped her hand into her pocket.

All of her Pokemon were surprised when they were all withdrawn, save for Portal, who was the only one left out. Eisen still had her ball in hand, though, looking up at the Seedot and taking a few steps backwards as they came down.

"Zap them quickly, and I'll try to make sure you don't get hurt," she said.

Portal giggled and sent out a quick, low wave electrical shock for the two critters. As quickly as she could manage, Eisen withdrew the dual type to keep her safe. She withdrew everyone else because Seedot had the nasty tendency to explode when faced with conflict or whatever.

And, just for the hell of it, she tossed a ball each at the two. Figured it wouldn't hurt, anyways.

And flew the Park Balls at the paralyzed falling acorns! They both hit their targets, and the acorns disappeared in a flash of red light before they could do further harm to you or to themselves.

The balls fell to the ground with the clatter of marbles. Once they settled down, they began shaking.

SUSPENSE :o

One of the balls broke open, to reveal an angry Seedot. The other ball dinged, signaling the capture success. Now you have an crazy Seedot on your hands! Oh dear, what to do...

As if things could not go worse, that Seedot suddenly began shaking. Looks like you had managed to provoke it to the point of exploding. Run for it.

"Oh shi-"

Right, so, we all expected that one, ey?

The ball of the caught Seedot dinged off to the internets while the other looked like it was going to do a grand job of exploding and getting Con-Woman Guts everywhere.

Which, you know, would kinda suck.

She quickly pulled another Park Ball from her pocket and pitched it at the Seedot. Catching it or not, she didn't care at this point. Hopefully it would distract the thing long enough so she could run the fuck away without getting hurt from the explosion.

Because, even if it didn't catch the thing... gave her a few seconds to run like hell and get some distance in before it exploded.

And, if it did catch it... well. Awesome, another Pokemon for her~

KABOOOM!!!! Or not.

The Park Ball gave you some time to get the fuck out of the area as it hit the Seedot. The shaking acorn disappeared in a flash of red light, and the ball closed, only to break open immediately.

Oh, but wait, there's the paralysis factor! However, the Seedot managed to shake off its paralysis to begin glowing white. At that time, you had managed to go around the corner just as it exploded.

KABOOOM!!!! This time it's real.

Peeking out from the corner, the con-artist would see a huge black smudge on the road and the adjacent buildings. You have managed to escape the explosion! Woohoo!

Eisen scampered around the corner, and put her fingers in her ears just in time to feel and hear the explosion. Her pants flapped in the wind for a second, and she opened her eyes to find that she was in one piece. "Thank goodness," she sighed, and let all her Pokemon (But that Meowth) back out again.

The Murkrow was suddenly in her face, looking irritated, "What the hell was that?"

The woman raised an eyebrow at him, then pointed around the corner. The ragtag group of Pokemon looked, seeing the blackened street and Seedot... bits all around.

"Ah... yeah. That... thanks,"

"You're welcome. Now, c'mon," she waved for them to follow her down this new street, to see what they found.

She was almost interested in a Sentret or a Shroomish, but only if they were at a high enough level. The problem was that she didn't expect to find one at the level she wanted it at. Nearly to level 20 would be perfect for both of them, but... for some reason, the things that she was finding weren't quite at that level.

Which, was a shame, but oh well.

They would continue to look for anything else at all to catch, though, since that was... the whole point of the contest. Catch everything ya could!

Ordinarily, you would have found things endemic to the city. You know, cars, trash cans, mailboxes, things of that sort. Normally some stray scavenging in the trash.

Angry, rabid zombies were also present, a more recent development, but none immediately jumped out at you.

Instead, one fell from above.

Startled by the explosion, the insect had jettisoned itself from its web, and was just un-aerodynamic enough to have no control of where he was going.

So the Spinarak fell off the side of the building completely, screeching and little legs flailing around. As part of a last-ditch effort to save itself, the bug spat out a strand of sticky silk from its mandibles. However, given how much the spiderlike creature was rotating, the strings didn't latch onto the buildings or anything that would properly arrest his fall.

It did, however, stick to Eisen. Precisely in the middle of her forehead, in fact.

This only dragged the Spinarak down, out of the air, and onto Eisen's face.

The motley crew of Pokemon all gave a start when Eisen suddenly squeaked in surprise, a suppression of the scream that she wanted to do since holy shit poisonous thing on her face. The bug factor didn't bother her so much as the fact that the little bug was venomous.

"Coooooy, getitoff,"

The Murkrow sprung into action, as did the Rotom. Coyote rushed in to startle and peck the critter off of Eisen's face, where Rotom could electrocute it and not hurt Eisen in the process. Not a big shock... just a little wave, as usual.

Eisen got her calm back when the poisonous thing was away from her face, and pulled another Park Ball out of her pocket, and dropped it on the bug. She didn't think Coy would faint it, since he wasn't as strong as the bug, and it would make for an easy capture.

Well, it was a good idea in theory, really. Get the thing away, zap it, hit it a little more, then capture it. The system works. Right?

Maybe!

Being a larger and more important bug, this Spinarak was quick to attack, and it started launching its little buggy missiles against Coyote who was trying to jab it in the face. Both of them were hitting each other and probably cringing in disgust from being touched by something with cooties (ick) and thusly weren't exactly killing each other. And besides, the Spinarak was having a tough time sticking to a human face and attacking.

So saying, the spider fell off Eisen's face and onto the ground, where the heroic little Rotom got its Thunder Wave in and paralyzed the itsy bitsy spider. And with a little bit more attacking on the part of Coyote, the Spinarak was weakened. Quick, catch it!

Oh, wait, you did. We're good. But damn does it all hurt.

Who makes this stuff their life's work, seriously?

Eisen shivered and patted her face. No pain, but that didn't mean anything sometimes. Luckily, she wasn't bitten by the spider, and looked down to see the ball disappear. "Awesome. How you feelin' Coy?" she looked up at the Murkrow, who wobbled in the air and landed in her outstretched hands.

"Uh... tired. I don't know how much longer I can do this," he shook his head, fluffing his feathers as the woman drew the bird in to cradle him, "You take a break for a while, then. Arkham and everyone else can handle it,"

"Tar." the Larvitar agreed, taking time away from looking around to blink up at them. Nack chittered his own agreement, even though he was feeling a bit hurt from the battle before.

Should we be looking for anything in particular or something? You've been catching all kinds of stuff, Portal buzzed, her voice coming from Eisen's Poketech in her pocket. It was a bit muffled, but they heard it just fine.

For the first time in a good long while, Eisen hesitated, running her fingers through Coyote's feathers. After getting this group together, she started thinking about the last two members of the six Pokemon group she wanted to have. Could she find one of them here?

"Weeeell..." she looked around at all of them, "Maybe a Shroomish? Everything we've found so far has been a decent level, so... well. No harm in trying?" she looked over everyone, "Tan and green mushroom-thing. Even if we don't find one, that's fine. We can catch whatever we find along the way," she winked.

"Tar!" Arkham snapped her jaws, flexing her arms. She had the confidence that they would find it. Granted, she didn't know what one looked like, but how many tan and green mushroom looking things were there?

The sea weasel chittered and saluted, turning and padding next to Arkham, nose twitching. They started walking again, lead by the Larvitar and Buizel. Portal, not wanting to be out and about, zapped back into Eisen's Poketech and out of sight.

"You just relax for now," the woman whispered down at Coyote, still carrying the black bird and stroking his feathers. Coyote sniffed and settled down, fluffing his feathers to get comfortable.

You could walk through this city all day and not find a single thing. It was an entirely-plausible scenario, if things were a little less bloodthirsty and all the other trainers were over-hunting them. Surely this town would be swarming full of humans soon in an attempt to clean up the city of all the wildlife that had infested the place. That didn't mean there wasn't anything left, no. There was actually still a hell of a lot floating around the city, because Brightopolis had simply been overrun with Pokémon. There'd be enough for everyone and then some if you kept looking.

And, lo! What was that over there?

There was a bti of a shaking from a pair of silver garbage cans that were left on the sidewalk, not knocked over yet in the assault of monsters on this city. One of them had their lid off and was exuding a bit of a stench, but the other one... did the lid just move?

Yes. It did. From underneath that lid looked the eyes of a Shroomish, wary, looking at you like you were a crazy thing, using the garbage can as a shield and hiding place as it tried to scavenge for food and its aluminium-handled lid like a big metal hat. It looked rather ridiculous and vaguely like a Ludicolo, actually.

But that was what you were looking for, right? Have fun trying to get at it!

This was the first time in quite a while that fate felt the need to laugh at her so badly... finally she found what she was looking for, yes, but unlike all the crap that she'd been assaulted with so far, this was a far lower level. The one damn thing she wanted and it was at an almost useless level.

(Eeeh.) she waved everyone back, but poked at her Poketech in her pocket. "C'mon Portal, like last time," she pointed over at the shroom, and took a second to withdraw all of her Pokemon again, after telling them what she was doing. She didn't want any of them to get hurt.

"Fry it,"

The ghost type buzzed with electricity, and sent out a blast of energy for the mushroom, before she was quickly withdrawn. Eisen couldn't afford to have any more Pokemon get hurt if she wanted to win this thing... or find a higher leveled Shroomish. This one was too weak for her tastes, but she couldn't pass up the chance.

So, pulling out yet another Park Ball, she chucked it at the mushroom with the hat. The best part? Metal conducted electricity. So the metal garbage can lid wasn't going to help it at all... and it was likely going to drop the thing after getting electrocuted.

Upon seeing a hostile creature appear alongside the human, the mushroom-like creature knew he was in trouble. Human + slave = death.

So, he did the smartest thing that immediately came to mind, and promptly dropped back into the trash receptacle in which he was hiding. The lid secured into place after him.

Being, of course, a mushroom, the Shroomish had no idea about the concept of conductivity. His plan was to wait until the human or her slave tried to open the can, and then attack them unexpectedly!

However, he was still in contact with the sheet metal--and got an entirely unwelcome shock. A very literal one, too--the lightning raced from one end of his body to the other, jamming up neurons and generally making a pretty big damned mess of its nervous system.

But while that wave didn't hurt, the next shock most certainly did. The Shroomish squealed and flailed its stubby little feet...stump...things, thrashing so hard that he knocked the can over.

Only to find himself zapped yet again!

But this one didn't hurt. It made everything all red, though, and then dark nothingness. Like sleep.

The ball wiggled a little lethargically, as the creature's confusion competed with the sedative nature of the handheld capture device--and then the ball dinged, indicating that the process was successful.

Once again, the ball zipped away into never never land, and Eisen felt somewhat satisfied with the day so far... even if it wasn't quite at an ideal level.

Now they just had to find more things to catch, she figured.

Releasing everyone again, she gently took Coyote out of the air so he wouldn't have to fly, and nodded to everyone else with a big grin. "Ready?"

They all barked or roared their agreement, and they started off down the street again. Portal zapped back into her Poketech

"You seem to be enjoying yourself," Coyote pointed out, climbing up to sit on her shoulder like he always did, instead of letting her carry him. She made a face, and shrugged her shoulders, "I may as well, right? We're here, helping out, may as well enjoy it,"

"Heh, not a trainer..." he mumbled, only to get poked in the beak, "I'm not. >:"

"You certainly seem like you're becoming one,"

"I am not,"

Coyote chuckled at her, and got poked in the beak again a few times.

So there was some more searching of this city to be done, as per usual. Someone was looking for things and hey, the more power to you for doing it. Running through a city trying to find wild, infected Pokémon was a weird and wonderful thing to be doing.

Right then.

Speaking of wild and infected Pokémon, there was a thing. Over there. It looked vaguely like a really ugly baby Lapras, and it clung to the wall in a vague attempt to try and do something. The only problem was, it was making drool bubbles as it hung off a vertical face of a wall, looking directly at Eisen and its crew practically upside down.

Whoopsie. Someone put a retarded little creature in the town. But hey, stuff was stuff, right? It didn't look offensive, it just looked... messed-up in many senses of the word, and that generally meant something was going horribly, horribly wrong.

Was it worth catching? Maybe!

But damn, man. Ew. Drool bubbles.

A squishy thing! Eisen recognized the Shellos from another region, and thought it was sort of interesting that they were here too. Well, hey, it was another Pokemon. Kind of a weird, drooly thing, but still another Pokemon.

"So, uh. We've got this kind of down to a science, huh Portal?" she tapped her Poketech till the plasma creature came out, spotting what everyone was staring at. Its evolution was a water/ground type, but luckily, this form was pure water.

Bzzzzt~ the Rotom hummed, building up energy before discharging it in a blast of electrical awesome yet again. Eisen was never going to get tired of watching that, and readied a Park Ball again. She was hoping that she could chuck the ball that high if it didn't fall off of the wall after being paralyzed. Maybe if it fell she could catch it before it hit the ground so... it wouldn't go kersplat. That would suck.

This was going to be a very interesting scenario. The retarded Shellos versus the baby Rotom. Who would win?!

Actually, it came out surprisingly.

Shellos, as a species, tends to be slow. This much is known by those who specialise in the Water-type; most people could probably work that out, considering it was a slug, left something of a trail on occasion as it moved, and that this particular one was retarded. Therefore, it was down to the fact that it was slow that Portal got the first attack in, its Thunder Wave that paralyzed the muscles of the Shellos, and it fell off the wall.

But then it got interesting when the Shellos managed to spit up a big, brown ball of goopy spit. It was practically like mud that it was tossing out there, and it hit the Rotom in the face - just enough for it to be whacked down against the ground and hurt itself just a little too much. It... had it just used Muddy Water? From its mouth? Ew.

After that, when the Park Ball went out, though, the Shellos was sucked into its steely shell, and held there by the capturing mechanisms before the ball disappeared from sight, taken to the contest headquarters to be healed and vaccinated.

A double knockout, practically.

So... bullshit everywhere. Somehow the Shellos knocked out Portal with a ground type attack. Yet another Pokemon five levels then her average party level. The fuck.

It was easily disheartening to anyone, and Eisen was starting to wonder if this stupid contest was really worth the effort.

She quickly decided that it wasn't.

Portal fizzled out into nothing, and Eisen figured that the Pokemon would appear again at some point when she was recharged... or something. She sighed, and turned away, starting back to walk past the docks again and get the fuck out of this stupid contest. There was nothing she wanted here.

But, walking past the docks, she noticed something. Something... familiar.

Eisen raised an eyebrow, smirked, and strolled down the pier to go see what her boss was doing in a wheelchair.
