This is a freeform for a side-character; I'm aiming for a level 5 Weedle and the usual 'showing up to the region' stuff. Enjoy!

------

His name was Tethis Skyheart.

Once, he was a man of the heavens. A mighty warrior, a spiritual leader and an overall hero. Champion of law. Saviour of the people. One could look skywards and know that there was somebody up there looking out for you with every passing moment. He was a man of truth and justice, with an indomitable spirit that could never be broken. Invictive. Invincible. Immortal, perhaps.

Until all that changed. Something in the stars decided that it was not to be.

It was funny how the death-blow came not from below, but from above; his cohorts decided that he was to be cast out from the heavens, sent to the world below to... who knew. For whatever reason, he had been destroyed as a heavenly hero. And that was the greatest insult of all. His spirit was broken, his will undone; there was never going to be a second chance in that world to come back as a victorious man that was loved and revered by all. He could never have any of that back, and that was the greatest curse of all.

And so, Tethis Skyheart fell from the heavens.

------

When he came to... he was in a strange new place. There were people all around, and there seemed to be a creature or two. Pokémon, he heard them say. These things were strange to his culture, his way of life. These things appeared central to the world that he was now in. They did not fight with blades and hammers, they fought with these little monsters that were kept in tiny capsules. That was the strangest thing of all - how were disputes settled at all? How was the peace ever kept?

This world is insane, the heavenly hero thought to himself, but I am here and I must learn to adapt.

And so, he walked. Fortunately, he had clothing that seemed to blend in some with the local world. Sure. he lacked the monsters that were so prevalent here, but that would likely come with time and understanding. Perhaps, he needed to understand this world by exploration and seeing the little things doing what they did best.

So, he walked. Walked through this town known as, by the sign he passed, Escennia. The local architecture reminded him very, very faintly of that of his own home. It was... a bit more archaic than what he was used to; less of the gleaming white marble and more of simple stone. It did mean to the hero that there was something that he could call at least reasonably familiar. Perhaps this world was not completely bad after all.

That was when he came to a building with a red roof. The sign outside of that building read 'Pokémon Center'. This had to have been a repository of information about the creatures that existed in this world! The perfect chance to get a little bit more acquainted with this strange new land that he now had to come to understand. Without hesitation, the man walked straight into the building, expecting to see study areas of tomes and helpers to assist you in your studies. What he got was far too different. Chairs, food, and a counter with a very strange machine behind it? What... madness did this world wish to wreak on him?

That was when an old man decided to approach him. His confusion and anger must have been written clearly on his face for this man to appear to him.

"Young man," he began, nodding his head, "do you not understand this place?"

He seemed to understand well enough.

"I do not!" the heavenly one roared, drawing himself up to his full height. "This world is filled with strange people and devices! Why am I so consigned to this fate?!"

"You must calm down, one of the heavens."

His face froze. He knew.

"Your fate is no longer that of heroism. Now you must start down a new path, one that will undoubtedly change your fate to something that not even I can understand. Your talents are no longer applicable in this young man's world. You cannot do what you once did."

He spoke sense. There were no swords to be had, no wars to be fought and won. Nothing that could be done in his usual fashion, in this world of children and their pets. He had no home in this land, nothing that he could call his own other than the clothes on his back. He was nowhere. Nobody. He was nothing right now, and that meant he was a worthless being. For a man of the heavens... he had fallen so far.

"Then... what do you propose I do?"

"You will listen, and you will learn. These creatures called Pokémon are more than just pets. They can be used for battle. You must turn your knowledge of warfare into knowledge of command and battling with these little creatures."

The hero nodded.

"And then, you can return to your rightful place. One day."

From a pouch at his side, the old man withdrew one of those little capsules that the little monsters were stored in. He pressed a button on its front, and from it, a strange little horned insect appeared in front of him.

"This is a Pokéball. One stores their Pokémon in it, to keep them safe. They are kept in no-space and no-time while inside, as if nothing happens to them."

The man held out his arm as the little bug crawled all the way up his body to come to rest on his hand. There was a strange look in its eyes as it stared at the heavenly hero; one had to wonder just what this little critter was thinking. Could they speak as the rest of the world could to communicate? It was as if this little thing was being held out to him, as if gifted-

"Weedle!"

Apparently, it could not.

The hero looked at the young creature, deep through its eyes and into its soul. There was something... elusive, inside, despite its evident shortcomings. A spirit. An indomitable will. A fire, a passion, a drive. A will to succeed and a want, a real burning desire, to be great.

The same qualities he himself possessed.

"...You and I can go far."

The old man nodded. This man of the heavens understood well after all. He could go far, if that old man were kind enough to give him that help up he needed.

"You, Tethis Skyheart, Heavenly Hero, will return to your rightful place! But as you conquered the heavens, so too must you conquer this land with your triumphs!"

His face set heavily. He had a task. And now he would complete it - heavens willing.

Go for it, run towards it, dive in head first. Live life with no regrets!
Ummm.

I liked it. Then again I've generally always liked your writing. I think it could have been longer, but that's just me. Otherwise, I didn't really notice anything bad about it.

Since you're just going for a Weedle, and they're as common as dirt, and this is your lab/house post, I'm not going to grade this like a normal freeform.

You get:

:weedle (Gender up to you)
Level 5
Neutral Happiness

3,000z
5 Pokeballs

And, if you want:
Pokedex
Poketech
Escape Rope (3 Charges)
Knight of Light | Thief of Light
