IV. Chapter 3: Burnt Mountain Road You were as prepared as you could possibly hope to be. You were armed with what little information the Scavian General had imparted to you, as well as what history you had fished out of the old folks home. The chopper was still in Ashdell, but it was unlikely that your radios (the ones on your nav’s) would reach beyond the mountains once you entered the pass. Heavy cement divides barricaded the old asphalt road to Black Pass. Given that one could guess from the information you had gathered already that the town of Black Pass was at least three generations old, one might also be left to wonder just how advanced present day Opaddeka was if this forgotten place had paved roads available to it during it’s time. But, that is neither here nor there. Suffice it to say that Black Pass, while outdated to the world of pokemon was only slightly behind the times of Opaddeka’s narrators. In fact, if you looked hard enough, you could still see the yellow double line painted down the center of the cracked road. If you had an aerial view, you might have seen the remnants of a triangular symbol circumscribing a circle, depicted in a muddy red (A simplified reversed Seal of Metatron). The faint, barely distinguishable marking took up the entire breadth of the ruined road. Burnt Mountain Road followed the winding path of the valley formed by the towering ridges to either side of it. The rocky inclines looked over the shadowed highway like dark sentinels. Their looming presence was ominous, as if the rubble and debris that clung precariously to their sides would give away at any moment and careen down the slopes to bury those waiting below. It was obvious that the road’s final destination would take you deep within the craggy crevasses of the earth’s spine like ridge. Another painfully obvious fact that you could not help but take note of as you trekked across the open plains, was the lack of human inhabitance in the area. The closer you came to the mountains, the fewer and fewer houses and then farms there seemed to be. You were in total isolation from the world. It was with good reason then, that you were startled from your awe or fear inspired observation of the area, by the frantic cries of a human voice carrying over the wind. Being in the foot hills still it would take a moment before the source made its self known. A young man; twentyish, short curly red hair and wearing overalls and a holy t-shirt, popped over the hill side with a shaggy Arcanine and two Mareep in tow. Apparently, he was a herdsman and from his cries, he’d lost one of his flock. As he neared and caught sight of your group, he hurried towards you, a hopeful look upon his face right up until he saw the bright orange signs clanging in the wind against the cement barrier behind you. ‘Caution’ and ‘Danger’ did nothing to describe the comprehension that dawned in the man’s terrified eyes. “You haven’t seen a Mareep around here, have you?” He asked tentatively. He already knew the answer though, from the expressions on your faces, and now his attention was on the barricade. “If she’s gone that way I’ve lost her for sure.” He hung his head in defeat. “Dad won’t like this…” He trailed off and returned his attention momentarily to you. “You aren’t planning to go that way are you?” He asked with a tone of shock. He was studying your military out fit now. “I wouldn’t, if I were you. The mountains that way are haunted.” He looked to his Arcanine now. “Well, come on Comet, we best get back before Dad misses us and comes looking. Mareep’s on her own.” And then to you. “Good luck...” The young man herded his big dog and remaining sheep back towards town in the direction of the last farmhouse you’d seen. He’d not wanted to cross the barrier, not even for his Mareep, and had hurried away eagerly without allowing you to question him. As the bleating racket of his charges faded into the distance, you found yourselves left with a choice. It will be quite a hike from this point to the outskirts of the old town and you were free to walk or to make use of the handily portable OME jeeps. Either method would see you into town, but naturally one was a little faster. <Things to remember:>
<Your Choice: Walk or Drive?> |

.4 ![]() Party: - "Chaos"Holding: Expert Belt - "Backlash"Holding: Smooth Rock - "Hurricane"Holding: Nothing -- When the group of them got there, and stopped to get situated before they went down the path to the pass, Steely walked right over to the barrier and pulled herself up onto the top of it, turning around in place to sit down and look around from her new spot. It might not have been very high, but still. She let the others take care of the sheep hearder and whatever else they were going to bicker about now, blandly looking out over the rocks, and trying not to look behind her, at the path to Black Pass. (Good luck... no kidding,) Though, as if reminded of something, Steely reached into the pocket of her coat and dug around for a second, "Hey Cerby, catch," she pulled her gas mask out of her pocket and tossed it to her friend, before she forgot. She knew that Cerb didn't have any of her own OME gear, and would rather her friend have the mask then for Steely herself to have it. "And this too," she waved her friend closer, and slid down the barrier to stand before her, reaching into her coat only to produce her pistol and hand it off, grip towards Cerby, "Just in case," she grinned. Sure, they had critters who could shoot their own elemental attacks, but there was no harm in having a gun, in case of an emergency. Or whatever. And she had her own opinion on walking or riding, but knew that everyone else didn't give a shit about what she thought. So she kept quiet and allowed them to decide. She wanted to walk, really. No doubt if they drove they'd miss something important that could have helped them later. But, whatever. -- Giving Cerby my pistol and gas mask for this Event. If she so chooses to take them, anyways. Event!Gexp: 3.0 Edited by Steel Cerberus, Oct 4 2009, 07:44 PM.

0.1 His newly-switched team in tow, Prosper followed along with the rest of the squad as they reached the outskirts of Ashdell and prepared to start the trek towards the bleak Black Pass. A gust of wind picked up, ruffling the sergeant's chestnut brown hair and sending a waft of dry, ashy air down his throat. He coughed a bit and lifted a hand to his mouth, trying to suck in some fresh air untainted by the area's humid, staunch atmosphere. Xyla, floating at his side, couldn't help but chuckle slightly. Place not treating you too well, huh? She questioned. The boy threw her a returning glance, and quickly shook his head. He was not used to the unbearable heat that was a constant presence in this environment. They started along the path, and soon ran into the young man herding his young Mareep along. Prosper remained relatively quiet and allowed the situation to resolve itself, though a pang of sadness did pierce his stomach at the thought of a poor Pokemon that had gone on beyond the barricade and lost itself on the path. Watt had been a Mareep at one point, and Prosper could only imagine how devastated he would have felt had she been separated from him. Losing a Pokemon was heart wrenching. But, alas, they moved on. Prosper was urged to speak up and suggest a search for the lost sheep, but knew that it would only fall on deaf ears. One lost Pokemon was relatively unimportant in the grand scheme of things, and he felt almost foolish for even entertaining the notion. Still, the thought would nag him until all of this was resolved. You must learn to prioritize, Xyla suddenly thought as she concentrated on the path ahead. A militaristic mission verses Little Bo Peep's lost sheep? Prosper knew she was right. But it still didn't make him feel any better. Once the suggestion of driving eventually came up, Prosper perked a bit, his eyes traveling along the rest of the group. It was several months ago when he had decided to splurge on a new jeep from the OME supply, it wasn't long after that he had broken his ankle. Thus, Prosper had never actually been able to test the vehicle out. Though he had never driven it, how hard could it be, anyway? As soon as he thought this, another light chuckle escaped from the psychic bird next to him. "I have a jeep, but either option is fine with me," the sergeant said to no one in particular, just merely letting his opinion be known. Whatever was decided was okay in his book. Walking was always pleasant, and driving in this rocky and gritty place might not be the best option. Then again, the jeep had probably been designed with this type of terrain in mind. |

(0.3 )So the military force had reached the foothills leading to the Black Pass. Alex thought nothing of the hike - it was the sort of thing he'd been doing for months on end, so a few hours in the mountains would be a breeze. Next to him, Guru hovered slightly above the ground. The Alakazam wasn't so keen on physical exertion, preferring instead to just use psychic hax whenever possible. The Mareep herder was a bit of a surprise. He hadn't expected to encounter any locals out here, especially with the rumours of ghosts and the like. The man's Next decision to be made, then: walk or drive? Prosper had a jeep, as did Alex, so they could hold six people. One or two more jeeps, and driving was certainly a viable option. "I've got a jeep, too. Terrain's not a problem, I've driven in much worse." That was true - the marshes outside Y'orek were a combination of toxic sludge and undetectable sinkholes. If the jeep could survive that (and it did), then an unkempt road wouldn't be difficult. Still, Alex frowned as he thought. "But that's not my main concern. Driving's faster, but it's also harder to defend. If we get ambushed on foot, we can react pretty much instantly. But if we get ambushed while in the jeeps... at best we'll waste valuable time getting out. That's if we don't crash." That, and the standard military jeep had a high centre of gravity, which meant it was easily rolled. And it means that we resident psychics can keep an eye out for trouble. Guru interjected to the group. Another bonus of walking - no capacity limit. So Alex's vote was for walking, if only for the minimised risk. |

.3 Unlike the others, Aris was quickly huffing and puffing as they scaled the Carmine Mountains. Though most would have bought that the bulging bag on his back, or the heat resonating from the ranges they trekked, or even that he was just sleepy, the simple fact was that spending all your time flying on a boat wasn't the best cardio. He happily sat down when they reached a thick, cement wall separating your layperson from things too awful for their eyes or too terrible for their minds. Unfortunately for him, they got through much too quickly. He angrily took to his feet and passed through with everyone else. An unfamiliar voice drew his eyes just as he passed through the gateway. A kid, a farmer that immediately drew Aris's dislike, complained openly about a lost Mareep and the 'haunted hills' up ahead. "I ain't afraid of no ghosts," Aris said jocularly in reply, though he doubted a person of this farmer's family and education would get the reference. "Listen kid, the OME is big government organization. We are cold careless murderers that care little about our citizens, so run along now." And he kept on going through the gate. While the others focused themselves on their transport, Aris drifted away from the group. His eyes were sponges, absorbing every beautiful detailed of the ghost town around them. Completely devoid of human life. Alone, left to its own devices, untainted by the politics and bullshit outside its thick walls. He wandered off down the street. The things he could do with a few good friends and this community. He sighed, wistfully drifting down the roads. His eyes crossed over a strange seal on the ground. It snapped him from his daze. They had been warned that something was up with this town. He glanced back to the group. He'd tread softly for now. Coming back over, he tossed in his vote. "Take the jeeps. Please, take the jeeps." He felt his throbbing thighs. |

[ Gen.EXP ] 0.3 --------------------------------------
Spoiler: click to toggle --------------------------------------Kaizanu followed up her crew, feeling somewhat silly for doing so, but since they knew where they were going, she simply went along. It wasn't a big deal. Noticing a Herder with his fire dog and two mareep, Kaizanu felt bad for him, and it was only appropriate to reassure him. The military soldiers standing before him were not only the mindless dogs under an alien General, they were fellow people. "If we come across your pokemon, we will be sure to deliver her when we have accomplished our objective," Kaizanu said. Patting the Herder's shoulder, Kaizanu made her way passed the rest of her group to the front. They were clamoring over the mode of transportation. It was obvious that either way had merits and demerits, but she felt that the sooner they accomplished the task, the sooner they could finish biting at each other's ankles. "I've also got a jeep. I want us to go about this quickly: get in, kick butt, get out," she said, "As far as it goes right now, driving is what I'm asking us to do." Looking to Prosper and then to Alex, Kaizanu decided the drivers. "It's going to be a little uncomfortable, but I trust you guys to be tougher than it. We don't have enough room for large pokemon to ride with us, but smaller pokemon should be out to help defend the convoy." She did a quick calculation. There were eight of them and three jeeps currently announced. "Three people per jeep, except one with two. Keep your PokeNavs out, they'll act as radios between us," Kaizanu said, deciding to let each person decide who they wished to ride with. To be honest, she did not quite care, but she recalled Private Hikari's and hers last encounter. He had known her, or recognized her, but she didn't recognize him. And she still didn't, but hey, that didn't stop her. Kaizanu decided to decide for Angel, because she wanted to know what was up with him, not to say something wasn't wrong with her. "Private Hikari, you're with me, which leaves me with one more spot - who wants to ride in the back?" Kaizanu would have personally rode in the back, but she had to drive. Oh the sad dilemma of the day. Akita growled slightly. What about her? "Sorry gal. You'll have to be in your pokeball," Kaizanu patted the gator, met with a slightly disgruntled hiss. But she relented. Tapping the pokeball at her own accord. Feeling bad, Kaizanu made a personal note to find her a treat along the way. Thus, that left Kaizanu's only pokemon out her anorith, still clinging to her shoulder and clicking his claws at random people to say hello. Pulling off her Jeep Capsule, Kaizanu released her vehicle, leaning against it, while waiting for the others to prepare. |

.3 ![]() And now I'm posting because holy crap, I don't want Mav murdering me with a Ditto or...whatever tentacley thing that was. D: So, the mountains outside of Ashdell. Cerb had once passed through these at some point, though not this particular section. Therefore, there was no nostalgia, instead of sort of quiet terror because Delphi was digging a hole in the ground with her big flat paws. "...what are you doing," DIGGIN' GRAVES. D: The teen facepalmed rather violently as the Absol continued digging, humming something that sounded like the Funeral March. "Would you quit that, seriously," Nu. Incoming object, "Wha - " and the Cerb was gas mask'd. She squeaked and fumbled not to drop the thing, looking over at Steely from where the girl was sitting on the barrier. Somewhere over there was a poor fellow worrying about his sheep, but eeeeh. Maybe the truckmunching monster ate it already. "What? Wh - nonono." She skittered backwards away from the offered gun, nearly falling backwards over Delphi as the Absol turned into a fuzzy barricade. "Noooo. That goes against all my principles," Good thing too, I think you'd shoot yourself in the foot. Delphi poked at the back of her trainer's knees with a paw, and Cerb just glowered for a moment. Anyways, sling that thing around your neck and find out where that little anklebiter went to. "Anklebi - " the teen paused in tugging the mask down to hang around her neck, looking around for a moment to see where the Larvitar had wandered. His coloring really was a form of camo in this environment, and it was only when she saw the flash of his red stomach that she located him nomming busily away on some black, ashy lookin' rock. "Rajaion! Get over here," "Larveh?" The Larvitar gurgled and blinked around the rock half stuffed in his mouth, before his strong jaws came down in a loud, cracking chomp that shattered the thing in two. Crunching away on his rock treat, Rajaion waddled back over to stand next to his trainer's shin and growl at Delphi, who huddled rather defensively on the other side of Cerb's legs. "Lar!" "Yer makin' a mess there, Raj." Cerb leaned down and brushed rock dust and gravel off the Larvitar's front, half listening to everyone else babbling away in the background about rather to walk or drive. Personally, she wanted to walk. That road was narrow and it didn't look very well maintained, so a smooth quick ride would be out of the question. It'd probably be faster to walk, and a bit more secure. But, oh well. If no one would listen to Steely, second in rank to Kaiz only, then nobody would listen to her, still only considered a grunt. "Methinks you have to come back in the ball a bit for this," the teen plunked the Pokeball on the protesting Larvitar and zapped him away, snapping the ball back onto her belt and considering things for a moment. If they rode, she couldn't really have her danger detector out, and they'd probably all get ambushed and die. Yet, there was another option... "Hey, Steely. Y'think we can ride Ganon?" She asked in a bit of a low voice, so the others wouldn't hear. The Rapidash was glorified transport even if he wasn't a jeep, so they were technically 'driving'. "I'm not stuffing Delphi in a ball for all the tea in China, or we are going to get totally screwed." I heaaaaaard that. The Absol perked up and thumped her tail on the ground a few times. You do care! "'course I do. 's not like I want to die out here either," Cerb grumbled, casting a wary look in the direction of the mountain road. Things would definitely start getting interesting now, at any rate. |

.2 The Lieutenant General was only nineteen, but she had quickly tried to establish herself as the leader of the group. Some had resisted, and Aris had been feeling proud to count himself among the dynamic duo (for that was what he called Steely and Cerby in his mind). Though he suspected his motives were quite removed from their own, he respected their refusal to blindly follow the leader. But, as time had gone on, she appeared much more suited for the role than he had suspected. Sure, her points were obvious, but they were said. Brevity was key, and Aris respected her clarity. She knew what was up. He took a slight liking to her. She opened up the last spot in her jeep, and Aris quickly made his way over to her, his arm twisted behind his back and fumbling with a strap. "Do you expect some trouble?" he asked as he slid one of his molotov cocktails out from his pack. "If it's alright with you, I'll take that third spot. I think I can offer some protection." He slyly revealed a modified Zippo lighter. Instead of a cumbersome cap, it was just an extended lever, grooved on the side so it could be easily dragged against himself as he pulled it from his pocket, igniting the flame. "If you catch my drift." Offering to ride with Kaiz/Angel. |

0.2 Prosper stood rather quietly at that point, waiting to see what the others thought about what they should. Kaiz seemed to be in favor of driving, which meant that that was most likely what they would be doing. She was the commander of this particular mission, after all. Between the three of them, at least, it looked like there would be enough vehicles to carry everyone along. Now, the only left to do was to make it look like he had driven the jeep at least once before in his life... After a quick dig through his military-issue sack, Prosper produced the small capsule that miraculously housed an entire jeep inside of it. Prosper held it close-up, studying the tiny mechanism. Absolutely nothing about its tiny machinery suggested that it boasted such a powerful technology within its workings. Well, anyway, now that it had been located... the only problem left was to open it up. Press the button? Just make sure you toss it afterward... don't want to accidentally be crushed to death. Xyla suggested dryly. Prosper threw a glance toward her before nodding. Here goes nothing, he thought, punching the tiny button and tossing it towards an empty spot of land. In true Dragonball fashion, the capsule hit the ground and its machinery immediately set to work. Impossibly, the capsule swelled in size and began to expand out until a full-sized military style jeep sat before him. An awed gape was all the sergeant could manage. Quite impressive, Xyla noted, looking over the jeep. Even the wonder of that technology was beyond her analytical brain. "No kidding," Prosper responded as he threw the driver's side door open and peered inside. The interior was shiny and new, for of course it had never even been released from its container. Everything about it completely wowed Prosper. Finished with his momentary guy moment, Prosper turned back towards the rest of the group. It was pretty obvious no one would actually want to ride with him, but hey, they could take it or leave it. While he waited to see who would be joining him, Xyla leaned against the side of the jeep, momentarily wondering if she was considered a "large" Pokemon. Hardly... out of her teammates, she was absolutely the smallest one. Surely she was tiny enough not to be recalled back into that loathsome ball. Edited by Fantasy Shadow, Oct 10 2009, 01:57 PM.

.1 ![]() Steely couldn't help but to laugh at Cerby as she scrambled away from the gun, "Haha, I figured that was what you were going to say. Suit yourself," she finished with another chuckle, storing the firearm back into the holster under her jacket. In theory, the pair would never be separated, so Steely could pop a cap in someone's head if the need arose. So, it looked like Herr Leader had decided for them what they were going to do. Steely disagreed, but knew better then to open her mouth and speak against their glorious leader. So she shrugged and leaned against the barrier again, just listening to everyone else be the mindless dogs they all were supposed to be. She'd keep up the act while she had to, but privately thought that they were all stupid for being so mindless. (Shame we can't have a team that actually thinks for themselves instead of being so blind,) she thought absently, watching Cerby and Raj. She smiled at the lot of them, but perked up and blinked when Cerby came over. Heh, she didn't want to ride with any of them either. Luckily, Steely had been thinking just about the same thing. "Yeah. Hey, you haven't seen his new armor yet, have you?" she whispered back, taking a few steps away from the barrier and turning away from everyone else. In a secret pocket of her coat, she pulled out the tucked away Pokeball. It was the standard white and red, but dulled, as if it wasn't normal. It wasn't. It didn't count among her normal six, and her three now. "I just hope he doesn't trample anyone," she mumbled, more thinking about how much of a pain in the ass that would be to clean up. Flicking the ball to the ground, it exploded into a flash of red light that formed into the black warhorse, Ganon the Rapidash. Steely seemed to pause, as if suddenly realizing something. "What's a China?" Ganon turned his armored head and snorted at them, making Steely jump and nearly fall over. She patted the horse's chin, since his nose was armored, and scratched the black fur wherever she could find it, "Hey boy. Ready for some riding?" He reared his head up, looked around, and snorted steam. "Yeah, I know. It'll be fun, don't worry," she patted his side through the blanket, and started hauling herself up onto his back. Once up there, she reached down and offered Cerb help up. -- Event!Gexp: 3.1 Steely and Cerby are gonna ride on her "Glorified Jeep" as Mav called it. Edited by Steel Cerberus, Oct 10 2009, 02:38 PM.

.3 ![]() "Uh. No," she hadn't seen Ganon in a longlong time actually. Not since...all that nonsense with Akuryo, she thought, down in the jungle near here. Goodness, the amount of crap that went down on this island was staggering. Looking over her shoulder for a moment at everyone else tossing out their jeeps and whatnot, the teen shrugged and took a few steps back to give Steely some space for when she released the Rapidash. She didn't want to get trampled by him either. Sparky chittered at Ganon from where he was sitting on Cerb's shoulder when the Rapidash appeared, flattening his ears. The teen was too busy staring at the new set of armor adorning the black horse, admiring the smooth shining faceplate. From there were the series of layered neck plates with flames leaking through the cracks, a wide breastplate, shoulder plates and the deep maroon blanket. Cerb poked at that, finding it was actually quite thick. Even more protection for the big black Rapidash. "Where the heck did you even manage to get this? He's like a freakin' armored jeep now," China is a thing, Delphi supplied, sitting a few feet away and watching the preparations for scrambling onto Ganon. Sparky was still making unamused faces as Cerb flailed her way up onto the back of the horse and sat behind Steely, looking down at the ground so very far away. "Zephyr needs to hurry up and grow up already," Considering your track record when riding her, that might not be such a good idea, |

(0.2 )As it turned out, the plan was to drive. Alex had voiced his reservations, but they weren't serious enough to outweigh the time that would be saved over walking. So jeeps it was. Then Alex saw Steely unleash a gigantic flaming steed with armour plating. Okay, jeeps and a Rapidash. That meant four vehicles, which in turn meant that the group could go two to a jeep. Which meant that Guru could squeeze into Alex's jeep along with another passenger, and act as an early warning system. Three of us in a jeep. Cosy. Guru remarked. Given that the psychic was a five footer, almost human-sized, there would have been no way that he could fit in a jeep with three people. He'd have had to have been stored in his ball, and Alex wasn't comfortable with that. Not given Guru's skill set. Anyway, the jeeps. Alex located the storage ball, and tripped it to reveal his ride. It had more mileage than Prosper's vehicle, with some mud on the tires from when it was last driven, but it was still in perfect working condition. These things were as tough as advertised. "That means Curtis goes with me and Guru." Alex opened the driver's door and waited for Guru to enter, before easing himself into the driver's seat. Convoy ho, and all that. |

.3 Just an FYI. I'll be modding this tomorrow rather than waiting for Curtis. Talked to him tonight and it seems RL is catching up to him. Looks like he might not be able to keep up. So, in the event he doesn't show for the mod after the next, assume he was left behind in Ashdell. One last thing and I'm going to sound like your mother here and thats the most rediculous part of all. This giving of .1 gexp for perfectly fine posts? It stops now. There's not going to be any arguing this here or in chat. I don't care who started it, I don't care who pissed off who. You know who are and all that shit. Its shallow. You do not bring personal off board issues into the game, whether its here in this event or in your normal journeys. It doesn't solve anything and just encourages you to be more aggravated at whomever it was. The worst part? People stop having fun and start FINDING reasons not to like each other. So stop now, please. This event was meant for everyone to have an opportunity to RP with each other as much as they wanted. Maybe form stronger in charactor relationships, etc.. To HAVE FUN. Remember that and maybe this thing can still be a success. Not another word about this, just...play nice, solve your problems off the board. I'll try to have the next mod up very soon so we can forget about this ugly business. K? Yeah. And you guys wonder why I drink. |

Viable arguments were made but in the end the majority seemed inclined to drive. It was a good decision really as the mile markers ahead would show the actual town of Black pass many miles ahead through the winding pass. Choosing to cover the distance of Burnt Mountain Road by jeep (or in the case of two, a surely horse) was an unremarkable decision that anyone could understand. Piling into your caravan of jeeps, you set out onto the shadowed road towards the distance town. The oversized tires bounced over the uneven road and scaled piles of rock that had blanketed sections of road due to rock slides. The horse, as magnificent as his heavy armor indicated, cantered along just as easily, racing along the more even stretches to keep up with the vehicles. The going was slow and precarious at times, but at least it was faster and a lot easier than walking. Just imagine how boring it would have been to endure one another’s company for that much longer. One might think that this unhappy team were on the verge of spitting in two…how dreadful that would be! Why, you hadn’t even gotten to know one another yet. Two teams wouldn’t fair any better than one really, not if you couldn’t rely on your team mates as well and get on with them. That’s just a nasty bit of paranoia. Just some ‘what if’ from a rambling mind. An observation and a bleak one at that. One thing you would have noticed, had it not been for the roar of the engine and clip-clop of hooves, would have been the complete silence in the surrounding canyon. There was no sign of wild life whatsoever. In fact, you saw nothing until you sped past a ravaged patch of tall grass and weeds beside the road. In passing, you could tell the area was recently trampled and glittered with dark red smears. A misshapen lump was strewn across the grass. Conversing via CB, an added bonus of the jeeps, or poketech might easily relay your sighting of this ghastly thing lying just off of the emergency lane. You could all stop, some of you could stop, or you could all just keep on going. It was up to you. You're choices: Will everyone stop and look? Will only a few stop and look? Will all of you agree to just keep moving? |

[ Gen.EXP ] 0.5 --------------------------------------
Spoiler: click to toggle --------------------------------------With the offer to her third seat taken, she obliged. Jumping into the driver's seat, it was all smooth sailing from there - so she thought. As she drove, Kaizanu didn't notice the silence, because from her point of view, the engine and background music didn't help much in the factor. "Prefer any kind of music?" Kaizanu asked her jeep buddies. Tuning accordingly, though the static occasionally belted out some terrible notes; soon, they wouldn't have radio. What Kaizanu did notice, was the absence of pokemon. Even in canyons and jeeps, she had predicted some pokemon being around, even flying. A murkrow on a ledge or in the air, some geodudes hiding nonchalantly, but there was nothing. She shrugged inwardly. Must be the roar of the engine scaring off the critters. Her eyes were on the horizon, seeing a patch of grass that seemed unusual for the region. "This is Lt. General Tyzin. Alpha Jeep is stopping; Go on or stay, do not stray much further ahead. I repeat, Alpha Jeep is stopping..." She said for the CB. She repeated over the PokeNav or Tch (whichever it was) the instructions, since the horse didn't have built in radio. Red brake lights turned on and soon Kaizanu's jeep stopped, if a little abruptly. She was just testing the brakes, really. Jumping out to a familiar click of the door, Kaizanu narrowed her eyes, feeling her stomach churn. The silence that wasn't around them before was now slowly grasping them. It was uncomfortable to say the least. The dust that had risen behind them from their tires and hooves seemed a little eerie, as if the monster intended to box them in. Instinctively, Kaizanu pulled out her Nightmare Trigger. Holding it idly in one hand, she felt Terminus shift uncomfortably on her shoulder. "Nor... rith," he whimpered, tugging on her shoulder. He didn't want to get closer to the carcass. Kaizanu had a feeling she knew what it was. Stepping closer, she nudged it with her toe, to see if it had rigor mortised yet, and just to see what it was exactly. She saw no point in waiting for the others - it was just a carcass - so she commenced searching for clues of death and others signs that would lead them to its killer. And, who knows, maybe it was only on the brink of death. Edited by Kaizanu, Oct 11 2009, 08:33 AM.
