Things doing in this post:

~Healing Team~

~Spending Genexp~

~Darucho currently had a wild Taillow with him that is infected with Pok'erust and was fainted after trying to eat Apollo in the Forest of Fury - he wants to heal it too, and ask the nurse if there is anything he can do to help the infected mon, and his infected pok'emon.~

EXP SPEND LOG:

Vera has 1.5 exp spent on her, making her reach level 8. There is 1.6 exp left.

Apollo has 1.3 exp spent on him, making him reach level 10 and be able to evolve. There is only 0.3 exp left.

The last 0.3 exp goes to Mia, giving her a exp total of 1.3/1.5.

WARNING! THIS POST CONTAINS LANGUAGE THAT MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN TO READ.

Darucho held the fainted Taillow still slightly protectively, still tightly in his arms as he darted quickly into the Rose Town pok'emon center: despite the fact the infected pok'emon had tried to almost eat Apollo, and in the fight that had folloewed in an ttempt to protect the Cascoon - both Mia and Apollo had probably been infected with this new strain of 'mutant pokerust' that was going about...he didn't wish to just leave the bird where it lay on the forest floor. He felt like he had to at least try to do something for it - even if he couldn't do anything for the Pok'erust, at least he could heal it at the center - for he still felt like he should do the right thing regarding the bird. Being the kind-hearted trainer he was, he couldn't simply just LEAVE the bird fainted on the ground in the forest of fury - not when he knew full well how dangerous that place was. Heck, he wouldn't be surprised if the bird had been attacked by other wilds if it had been simply left there! But now was not the time for idle thoughts. He had to get in the center and get this bird: and all his pok'emon healed. The forest of fury was indeed a rough place to attempt travelling through. As Darucho darted in, the same snappish ans brash Nurse Joy he'd seen before took one look at him and groaned, saying, "Oh great...what did you do now, you stupid toliet-brush haired kid?" Toilet-brush hair? Well....that was a new one. He hadn't heard that sort of insult regarding his hairstyle before.

However, Darucho ignored the insult, saying, his childish side not showing at all - he was serious, and his more mature personality was 'in charge', so to speak. "This unfammilar pok'emon - it tried to eat my Cascoon, Apollo, in the forest of furty. But it's a lot stronger than the kind of pok'emon you'd normally see...even in that place...and iv'e heard about the mutant strain of Pokerust going about. I think it...might be infected! Can you...can you do anything for it? If you can't get rid of the disease, could you heal it? And my pok'emon too...my Pidgey, Mia and Apollo both probably got infected in the fight with the bird, too." The nurse arched an eyebrow, saying, "Let me get this straight. This bird tried to fucking EAT one of your own pok'emon - it probably infected them with a weirdo virus nobody knows bullshit about at the moment - and yet you come in here carrying it, seeing if you can try to HELP IT?! Seriously...what the hell?" Darucho went slightly red, reverting to his childish personality for a moment as he said, "Y-yeah...it probably sounds very silly, yeah..." Then he switched back to serious mode, saying, "But I want to at least try to help it! It's probably not it's fault that it attacked...maybe it was the virus that made it do this!" The nurse goraned, rubbing her forehead in exasperation for a moment, before saying, "Look, I'll take this Taillow, and see what I can do for it. I doubt that i'll be able to do anything regarding Pokerust, if it is infected...but i'll heal it and your pok'emon for you."

This said, she took Darucho's pok'eballs and placed them on the healing machine- the mechanics of the object soon doing their job and fully healing Darucho's mons, at which point the nurse gave the balls back to him. Once her hands were empty, she grabbed the fainted Taillow, saying, "I can't heal a pok'emon without a pok'eball on the normal healing machine..i'll have to take 'im out back. You stay here and wait, right kid?" At seeing a nod from Darucho, the nurse turned around and headed to a back room, leaving Darucho alone with his pok'eballs. Sighing, he guessed he might as well let his pok'emon out while he waited. With a flash of light, Mia and Vera all re-appeared into his view, both looking a lot better thanks to their short rest: but Apollo looked funny. His purple cacoon-like body seemed a little paler than usual...concerned, Darucho leant down to ask his compainon, "Are you alright, buddy?" Suddenly, the Cascoon's shell began to have cracks run down it, just like a pok'emon egg. Darucho gaped, as did Vera - but Mia smiled a little. She'd expected something like this to happen, since Apollo had worked so hard in the last battle and all...he was evolving. Transfixed, Darucho watched as the cacoon shattered, a bedraggled-looking form being revealed among the shattered remains of shell. The form then outstretched a new pair of wings, whcih dired very quickly in the light.

Then, the slime that was on the form dried off as well, revealing a large moth-like creature: a Dustox. Apollo had achieved his dream of fully evolving. The newly-evolved pok'emon fluttered it's new wings in excitement - though slightly akwardly, as if he wasn't that sure on how to use them. However, it must have been in the instinct of his species to figure out how to sue those new wigns, as afetr a few failed attempts, he eventually got himself up off the ground, swooping above Darucho, Vera and Mia's head in enjoyment. This was awesome! Flying was everything he'd imagined it to be: and more! Also, he felt that this form would be much more useful in battling, whcih was cool. But what most got to him was the fact that Darucho had kept his promise. When he'd first been caught, this human had promised to help him achieve this dream - and he'd done so. He felt very grateful to the human - it was almost like he saw the human as kind of a 'big brother figure' supporting and helping him, rather than a 'master'. After swooping about a while, Apollo landed on top of Darucho's spiky hair, giving a cheeky grin. darucho laughed, saying, "Well, I'm glad you like your new form, Apollo! It sure is awesome to see a friend this happy. At least some good things came out from that fight."

The human then paused, before saying, "Now....we just need to wait for the nurse to come abck with that...Tailloh- or whatever it was called- so she can tell if she could help it, and help us concerning your infections as well..."

"What's got Joy mad this time?" came a question as the door leading to the trainer rooms opened and a familiar face came into view. Holly didn't notice you at first, as her question was directed at Thistle trotting at her heels and that's where she was looking. She'd changed her clothing, swapping her Spearow-shredded shirt for a new one and her jeans for a long skirt, and her hair looked damp, a towel around her shoulders keeping it from dripping water on her clothes. "I mean, seriously, how many times does that woman have to..." Holly trailed off upon seeing you, though her eyes quickly locked on Apollo. "Oh, cool!"

Thistle wagged her tail and trotted right over to the group, then sat down and looked up at Apollo. "You got bigger!" she yipped cheerily as Holly came over to scoop her up into her arms.

Holly smiled nervously, idly running a couple of fingers through her wet hair and then scratching Thistle's ears. "You're back sooner than expected..." she started awkwardly.

As Darucho milled around in the main part of the pok'emon center, waiting for the nurse to come back with the bird (though he really wasn't looking forward to probably being yelled at by her again), a fammilar-sounding voice diverted his attention from the supllied pok'emon magazines to the door leading to the trainer's rooms - that sounded a lot like Holly, the trainer he'd helped back in the forest before that wild Taillow hadf shown up and almost tried to eat Apollo, thus forcing Darucho to ight in order to defend his compainon, actually. His assumption that the girl he'd assisted was here proved to be correct, as when he glanced over at the door leading to the trainer rooms, he saw Holly walking in, wondering aloud what had gotten Joy angry this time. Her question seemed to be directed towards one of her faithful compainons, Thistle the Zigzagoon, and she didn't seem like she'd really noticed him yet. But even though this was the case, even the prescence of a girl made Darucho nervous and fade back into his awkward, childish side yet again. Mia raised a brow in amusement - if Holly kept meeting Darucho like this, his awkwardness would become something of a running gag....Vera giggled from Darucho's abckpack, finding the spiky-haired one's sudden awkwardness just as cute as she had when Holly and Darucho had first met. However, Apollo was just as clueless to why Mia and Vera found this so funny as he was the first time, and tilted his head to the side in a clearly confused manner.

He'd thought it before, and he'd prbably end up thinking it to himself again: girls were very complicated and hard to understand. As the girl walked on, Darucho noticed that she'd changed her clothing - most likely due to the damage it had taken from being attacked by those Spearows - and it looked like she;d just come out from a shower or something. Darucho felt his face go very red at this thought, and he decided to go and look at his shoes - he hoped that he - in apparently making Nurse Joy yell so much - hadn't disturbed Holly whilst in the middle of something. Holly went on for a moment, wondering how many times that woman had to - but what Nurse Joy HAD to do, Darucho never knew, as Holly suddenly trailed off, obviously having seen him there - but it seemed that poor Darucho was spared more embarrsement for now, as she eyed Apollo first off, exclaiming that it was cool to see Apollo so different. The Zigzagoon wagged it's tail, trotting over to the group and earning a smile from Darucho, saying, "Glad t-to see that yo-you're lookinga lot more rested f-from those events in that forest, Thistle!" Apollo's antenna twitched at hearing Thistle say he got bigger, and he grinned before responding, saying, "Yeah! Flying is really awesome, man." The Dustox then thought of an idea, and grinned all the wider before saying, "Hey...I could try and pick you up and carry you, so you can get a little taste of flying, too. What ya think?" It seemed Apollo had not lost any of his naive nature upon evolving at all: he didn't seem to comprehend that Thistle mgiht be heavier than he or she looked, and he might not be able to even fly while carrying her - however, if he did comprehend this, he seemed like he didn't care and wanted to try anyway.

Just then, Holly picked the racoon up into her arms- looks like that 'flying trip' would have to wait, then. Darucho scratched his black hair slightly, looking just as nervous as the poor lass did - wondering what to say first. However, the girl started off the conversation, saying that he was back here sooner than she thought he might be. Darucho said, "Uhm...y-yeah. That I a-am...we came ac-across a strange blue bird iv'e n-never seen before in the forest, and it tried to eat Apollo. I co-couldn't just let my buddy be eaten, so I fought back - but it was strong, that bi-bird. Much stronger than I'd expected even f-from the forest: and it was then I learned about the mutant strain of Pok'erust that's going about, and realized it was p-probably infected." His stuttering faded away as he turned serious, he saying, "It probably infected Mia and Apollo too: which is why they look so much stronger this sooner...but I noticed something strange. At the very end of the fight, when it was near being beaten...it didn't look so hungry and angry anymore - or to hate Mia as much as it had in the previous battle rounds. It almost seemed to respect her - as if he admired her bravery, and all this angry behaviour was just beign caused by something else..."

Darucho then said, "I...even though it tried to hurt my buddies, I couldn't just leave it lying there after seeing that and knowing it was infected...so I brought it back here along with me, to try and see if there was anything I could do for it..even if I can't do anything about it being infected, I wanted to at least heal it...thus why Nurse Joy was yelling before. But...I wanted to do the right thing for that bird, despite what happened." Shrugging after saying this, Darucho then faded back into his awkward state, saying, "S-so...uhm...how are your o-other pok'emon buddies?"

Holly, as usual, listened patiently to the explanation, not really commenting on anything in particular until you'd stopped and asked her about her pokemon. "Oh, they're sleeping. At least...I hope they're sleeping and not trashing the room or something." But her mind, and words, couldn't help but return to why you were here. "It, uh, sounds like that bird was a Taillow. They're pretty common around here, and they can be pretty aggressive. I've seen them trying to fight things big enough to swallow them whole; it may not have PokeRUS at all. I bet Mia just won him over with strength and charm." She reached over to give the Pidgey a gentle pat on the head as she said that.

"Still, it's pretty cool that you brought him here. Not many trainers do things like that." Holly blushed a little, looking reflective. "Not even I really do a lot of stuff like that...Maybe I should." Her musing on her and your morality, however, was quickly cut short by a crash and a string of angry curses from the back.

A blur of colour shot through the air, narrowly missing Holly, who jerked back and flailed, landing with Thistle in a heap. The wild Taillow flew around erratically, angry and disoriented, maybe even scared, by these strange surroundings. The noises had alerted the rest of Holly's pokemon, who seemed to pour from the doorway to surround her. Typhoon, Prince, the Spearow (who really seemed more interested in the Taillow than her trainer), and a Shinx you hadn't seen before crowded around Holly, then looked toward the Taillow as if awaiting instruction.

Holly, however, seemed to be waiting for you to make the first move regarding the Taillow; she wasn't going to hurt him if you had other ideas. Nurse Joy was no real help, either, continuing to curse the bird and his entire family.

Darucho, still slightly embarresed at the current point of time - was quite surprised that Holly had decided to listen quietly and paitently to his whole tale on why he was back so soon without having 'solved' the mystery of the Forest of Fury, to be honest - it wasn't the shortest tale, to be sure. She was certainly a more paitent person than he was: he could be hasty even at the best of times, and that was probably why he tended to attract so much trouble around him...well, that was what his friend Janet had constantly said to him concerning such matters, anyway. But - if he hadn't had acted swiftly and on his heart's wishes alone...he might have never befriended Mia in the first place, let alone found her when she was in trouble. So maybe it wasn't such a bad thing all the time. However, the spiky-haired one's attentions were drawn away from his thoughts when Holly spoke out regarding the question she'd been asked, saying that her pok'emon were sleeping - well, at least, she hoped they were anyway. Darucho couldn't help but nod a little to this statement- he didn't know the Nurse Joy here too well, but he'd seen enough from her to know that she got mad pretty easily: heck, he was hasty, sure...but at least he wasn't this regarding his temper!

He hardly ever got mad at anyone unless they did something really injust or unfair to someone else, being the easy-going guy that he was. Knowing that even his old friend Janet got a little scared when he really got mad...and the fact he didn't like to scare his friends like that...and you could pretty much understand why Darucho tried not to go over-the-top with his anger. Holly's line of coversation didn't stay on how she and her pok'emon were doing for long, though, for she then started talking about the 'unfammilar bird' Darucho ahd mentions, saying that it sounded like that bird that he'd rescued was probably a Taillow - apparently, they were pretty common around here, and they could be very agressive. Darucho said, "Y-yeah...they're pretty determined never to back down in fi-fights, I noticed that! I kinda admired those birds for their bravery..." However, he didn't muse on this aloud for long, letting Holly continue, the girl saying next that she had seen Taillow trying to fight things big enough to swallow them whole: and it night not have Pok'erust at all. Darucho looked thoughtful at what Holly said then, as she finished off by stating that she bet Mia just won him over with strength and charm. Mia shrugged modestly at this statement, saying in pok'espeak, "I was just trying to protect my friend Apollo..." Apollo grinned, quite proud that the Pidgey considered him a friend - it was nice to have a strong lady like her to rely on, certainly!

Holly then spoke up once more, thinking that it was pretty cool that Darucho had not decided to just stuff the wild into a ball and instead bring it here by carrying it - as not many people apparently did things like that. Darucho looked a little sad when this was pointed out, very serious as he said, "What? Really? Gosh...I came here to try and help the people and pok'emon...I didn't realize that they needed so much help...so much kindness and law-abiding. I thought there must be other trainers who would do this too...but..." The sad tone soon faded from his voice, changing to a determined one as he said, "But this just gives me mroe incentive to keep helping others out like I do! If they need help...if they need a kind ear for things to be right and just - then i'm going to keep at it, no matter what!" Darucho pumped a fist in the air at finishing this statement, before hearing Holly admit not even she did a lot of stuff like that - and maybe she should. Still in his 'serious' personality, Darucho grinned - a really happy Librian smile, and those are indeed sights to see - saying, "If you want to...that'd be awesome! It'd be really good to know that there are others striving for the right and just things in the world..." However, his enthusiasm for this was soon cut off as he heard a loud crach - followed by some very shocking language - from the room in the back where Nurse Joy had taken the Taillow.

Darucho blinked. oh-oh. Why did that not sound particularly reassuring? He tensed, expecting something to happen: and it did, the Taillow shooting out from the back room in a blur of colour - narrowly avoiding hitting Holly - before fluttering around the room angrily, looking quite disoreintated as it did so. The spiky-haired trainer sighed. He hadn't wanted to catch the bird, as that would have made it angry - but this seemed just as bad. The noise even disturbed Holly's pok'emon, whom rushed into theroom, crowding their master before looking up at the bird. There was Typhoon the Totodile, Prince the grey wolf-cub like pok'emon, the Spearow from before - and a pok'emon Darucho recognised from the very start of his journey. Hey, a Shinx! Janet had gotten a shiny one of those - though he didn't have a clue that she'd stolen it from a hapless male. Thankfully, Holly didn't ask her pok'emon to attack, which Darucho appreciated - attacking the bird just might make it angrier. The brid probably didn't know that he'd brought it here to help it - so mayeb Mia should explain? The brid seemed to have liked her a lot in that last battle. Turning to Mia, he pointed to the Taillow, saying, "Explain what happened to 'im...tell 'im there's nothing to go frantic about. I just brouhgt him here to heal him, and I haven't shoved him in a pok'eball or something like that.."

Mia sighed a little to herself - she really didn't understand this male, let alone why it 'apparently' liked her- she wanted nothing to do concerning males, let alone one that had ATTACKED her best friend before- fratrenizing was not serious behaviour. However, she knew this was: and thus, she flew close to the Taillow (but wisely didn't go TOO close), calling out to him with a, "Hey! Could you stay still for a moment and please listen logicably to the situation?!" Hopefuly, the bird would recongise her voice and stay still for a moment- though she was wiiling to start shouting if that diverted his attention as well. Once Taillow had turned his focus on her, she would say in a stern tone, Stop darting about like a madman - you're only going to tire yourself out again like that! I know this place looks strange- but this is a pok'emon center. After that fight you had with us...Darucho decided to try and help you - he was worried you might have Pok'erust, and he couldn't just leave you there. So, he brought you here by carrying you....Yes, you heard right. He DIDN'T catch you - so that the nurse could heal you up and possibly try to help you if you ARE infected. He also said that he's willing to let you go back to the wild after you get checked out, if that's what you want."

If the bird didn't believe this, she would say, "If you don't believe me, think about it logicably for a second - wouldn't he have RETURNED you by now, if he HAD caught you?" Hopefully, the male would listen to reason and calm down without a fuss...this was already bad enough, what with the bad-tempered Nurse Joy here, without the Taillow acting like a little child. Seriously...Mia didn't see WHY some female birds were so keen to find 'partners' if all male brids acted as immature as this.

The sound of Mia's voice made the Taillow whip around, eyes wild with fright. However, after a moment, he seemed to recognize her and calmed down to listen to her. Holly gave a small, impressed whistle as she got to her feet. "Mia, where can I get one of you?" she whispered to herself. Typhoon glanced up, the Poochyena looking at her oddly before focusing back on the Taillow. There wasn't really much he could do with them flying up there, but he remained ever vigilant. The Shinx next to him sparked and bared his teeth, equally ready to take action if this went south.

However, despite the rushing adrenaline and virus running through his system, the Taillow listened to Mia's words, though he was clearly uncomfortable and restless in these new surroundings, even if he had an explanation of what it was. "Some of your words are confusing," the Taillow said softly, "But if you tell the truth, then I am in your debt." He looked to you, though he grew all the more uneasy upon seeing Holly and her team, and he seemed to recognize Apollo despite his evolution and his look of hunger returned for a moment before he looked away; even with PokeRUS bringing a fierce edge to his temper and hunger, he felt the debt extended to the insects.

Holly carefully took a sidestep in your direction, trying not to make any sudden moves. "Maybe someone should open the door," she suggested quietly, "He really looks like he wants outside..."

Though the tension in the current situation was so thick that you could probably cut it with a knife and still have a general sense of urgency and possible danger virtually pressing down upon your person, Mia was quick to follow through with what Darucho had asked her to do, fluttering close to the wild bird and speaking out to the avian despite not understand this particular male bird at all. But as she spoke calmly and logically to the wild pok'emon, she still remained focused and tensed: if this pok'emon was infected, it could still decided to try and attack her if the virus pushed it's emotions too far. Though she knew she couldn't fight back (for obvious reasons) if this happened, she would still do her best to dodge if the bird swooped down at her like it had in battle before - she really didn't want to get hit by that male again, thank you. She knew full well that it was high-levelled, and she had just been healed: so had Taillow. Fainting him again might just undo all the risks that spiky-haired Darucho had taken to get this bird here in the first place and try to aid it. For a moment, it looked like she might HAVE to actually attempt to dodge like she was planning to if the bird tried to attack: it's first reaction upon hearing her voice was to whip around, eyes wild with fear. Fear could do funny things to a pok'emon - Mia knew that. Heck, when Darucho had brought her to a center after saving her form a wild Meowth (back when she was wild herself) she'd attacked both him and the nurse upon waking up, thinking that here were more awful humans trying to 'use' her again.

Yes - having grown up in Little Hillmoss Town, were Pidgey were usally 'training fodder', she'd once hated humans too. Thought they were all a waste of space, all out to simply abuse pok'emon and use them for their own selfish benefits. however - Darucho and his kindness...it had touched her. Changed her view of people entierly. The Pidgey couldn't help but smile a little to herself at this memory - wasn't it funny that such a childish-seeming at times young man should teach her anything? But she'd learnt by getting to know the two-sided young man: the man who seemed both clownish and serious law-keeper: that you couldn't juddge a book by it's cover. However, her thoughts were soon shifted back to the matter at hand when she saw the Taillow's expression slowly, but surely change from that of uncontrollable-seeming fear to recognition: apaprently, the humans were right - she had made some sort of an impression on that male bird, though what kind of impression that might have been, she couldn't figure out for the life of her. Oh well - she wasn't going to 'look a gift Ponyta in the mouth', so to speak. At least he was calming down enough to listen to her, now...resisting the urge to sigh in relief, Mia then began explaning things as best she could to the wild. Darucho smiled at Mia as Holly gave an impressed whistle- but unlike the girl near him, he didn't say anything. How he felt about the issue...well, it was written all over his face. A thing about being a Libran-born was that you seemed to be able to say a lot more with expression sometimes, than words: and this defintely seemed to be one of these times.

The look was one a parent might recieve from a parent when they have done something very well - Darucho was proud of her. Also, it was one of faith - like all his friends, Darucho trusted in Mia: he felt utmostly sure that she would do the best she could to help out in this seirous situation. So what if people called him CHILDISH for having such strong belief in his pok'emon: nay, his friends? If having hope....if having faith in your compainons was childish, then he was proud to be called childish, then. That was the general thing he seemed to be saying without words, now. Wether Mia saw this look and was touched by it, he didn't know...but he still felt proud to have such awesome friends and friendships. Vera peeked slightly out of Darucho's backpack now that things had seemingly calmed down, mighty glad that bird wasn't swooping all over the place anymore - to be honest, that had kind of scared her. Apollo gave a relieved grin: well, at least that wild wasn't trying to make lunch out of him like before...Holly's pok'emon seemed to be keeping a close eye on proceedings as well, Prince and the Shinx in particular eyeing the wild with looks that clearly said, even to a naive soul such as Apollo, 'If you fly even a meter towards our master, we'll open a world of hurt onto you.'

Thankfully, it didn't look like the two would have to intervene: the Taillow seeming to hang on to every word Mia said. Yes, Mia was indeed the 'logical strategist' in Darucho's team, there was no doubt about that. If she could talk reasonably to a possibly infected pok'emon, then she'd certainly earnt such a title, if she hadn't already done so with her invaluable help to Darucho before. As she finished explaining things to the male bird, the Taillow responded by saying - surpisingly, in a gentle and soft tone of voice -that some of Mia's words had been confusing, but if she spoke the truth, then he was in their debt. After stating this, he glanced at Darucho, who smiled (despite not having the foggiest idea what had been said) before saying, "I'm glad Mia explained the whole situation to you. The last thing I wanted was a mis-understanding on this whole thing..." However, Darucho trailed off at noting that the prescense of Holly and her team seemed to be unnerving the bird again - and the fact he had shot a brief hungry look towards Apollo again before snapping back to his previous expression did concern him. It looked like it was probably a good idea to let the Taillow outside to do whatever now - being cooped up in here too long obviously wouldn't be good for him. Holly seemed to think the same thing, for after taking a side-step in Darucho's direction, she suggested that someone open the door, as the bird looked like he wished to go outside.

Darucho's face blushed scarlet red at seeing Holly so close by him - but did his best to still remain serious in this matter - saying to Taillow, "I'm going to open the door now - you go do whatever you want! If you're going back to the wild...I wish you the best of luck, and hope we meet again someday! It was sure an honour to battle such a determined pok'emon. If we do meet again - maybe we can have a nice chat or something? It's up to you."He shrugged slightly - though he quite admired the bird, he wasn't going to force anything onto it. This was made all the mroe clear when he moved slowly to the door (so as not to startle the lil guy further) before opening it wide so the Taillow could go do...whatever it was it wished to do.

The Taillow's breath came in deep, controlled breaths, the kind of breathing of someone who wanted very much to calm their nerves. He was hungry, stressed, and in unfamiliar surroundings, and he watched you, every careful movement followed by his wary eyes. Having grown a bit attached to you, Thistle hopped along with you and placed her body between you and the Taillow as if trying to defend you if things got bad.

Then the door opened, and his adrenaline kicked in. The Taillow took off toward the door and soared through it, though he paused and turned toward you as soon as the fresh air blew through his feathers. Just being out of the building seemed to help him, and the fact that there were no attempts to keep him there seemed to dispell the rest of his distrust.

But...did he really want to return to the forest? Even things that he considered prey were strong there, and the madness running through the entire forest had made them even stronger. True, he had improved in strength as well, and he feared no pokemon, no matter what form it came in, but hunger and harshness of life in the forest were opponents that could not be fought with in the traditional manner, and they too grew stronger now.

"...Thank you," he said softly, though he knew you wouldn't understand what he said. He looked at Vera, then Mia, then Apollo. A bird of such strength, strength enough to best him, keeping insects as friends. Was keeping such company a key to strength? He had been on his own so long. "But..." He seemed to struggle a bit with his words, and then he landed, just outside the door. Being confined to human buildings gave him nothing but anxiety, and being inside one of those human devices seemed all the more frightening, which is why he could hardly believe his own words as he said, "I think it would be difficult to be a worthy rival to someone with such a clear advantage and whom can travel freely."

Thistle, still at your side, blinked at him, bouncing closer. "Whazat mean?" she asked in a high-pitched chatter.

"It means," he said, resisting the urge to strike the Zigzagoon as a virus-fueled temper flared in his eyes. "That I have a debt to repay." He looked at you from his place on the ground, trying to calm himself. He was frustrated with his own lack of ability to admit this plainly, and it was very hard to resist the urge to attack something. "And you could no doubt benefit from my protection."

Thistle wagged her tail. "You wanna be his pokemon?" she asked cheerily. He didn't reply.

As Darucho went about explaining to the still-wild pok'emon that he was going to go and open the front door of the center now, he noticed that the Taillow was really trying it's best to not go Primeape Rage on everything right now - or at least it seemed that way, since the pok'emon was constantly doing deep breathing to itself, and he'd often seen his old friend Janet doing that when he said something particularly stupid and she was mustering up all her strength not to deck him in the face right then and there. It was probably for the best that the wild be let outside like he'd announced he would try and do for it, seeing this and pretty much having a good feeling why the bird was probably having it's nerves tested at the moment...maybe he could ask the wild if it wanted some dark chocolate, if it decided to fly back and seek him out again after doing whatever. Okay, so not all pok'emon would probably like dark chocolate as much as he, Mia and Vera did, he knew that - but it still would be nice to offer some sort of food anyway. If Taillow couldn't find anything to satite his hugner, that would make it all the more helpful, right? But such thoughts would have to wait for now. As he moved towards the fornt door, Darucho couldn't help noticing that Thistle was following him as he did this, standing in front of him in a deliberate-seeming fashion. The spiky-haired one smiled a little at this: huh, he didn't know that Holly's pok'emon took such a shining to him. It was kind of calming, especially in this sort of situation - the wild bird seeming to watch every step he made with silent, almost unerving stare.

When Darucho got to the door and opened it, the wild bird took little mroe than five seconds to react - shooting towards the door like a blue-coloured missle and going through it with very little trouble, Apollo's mouth dropping at this. He may have tried to eat him, that bird...but dang, he KNEW how to fly. But that was a given - he'd been flying all his life, and he as a Dustox had only just evolved and all. Mia arched an eyebrow, before gesturing to Apollo to follow her as Darucho headed outside- if the bird was leaving, they at least owed it to him to be polite and say goodbye. That and Darucho was going outside, and someone had to keep an eye on him...Darucho walked out of the door as well, grinning slightly as the wind blew through his spiky hair - it sure was a nice to be outside. The Taillow looked a lot calmer too...but why had it suddenly paused and turned towards him like that? Didn't it want to fly away? Darucho tilted his head to one side in confusion at the whole situation, whilst Vera and Apollo blinked in bewilderment. The only one not confused was Mia - she guessed that the bird was thinking about what it wanted to do. Darucho had said to it that it could do whatever it liked...but maybe the male hadn't made the desicion just yet. It wasn't a choice to be taken lightly, either, it seemed...though she didn't know what the male's choices in his mind could be. Wasn't her place to know, anyway.

After a while, the Taillow spoke up again, thanking Darucho and the group. Though the human didn't comprehend a word the avian was saying, the look it seemed to be giving him and his friends seemed so thankful that he felt that the bird was trying to show appreciation for the kindness shown to it, and thus said to it, being as modest as he always was when thanked for a good deed: "Well - I was just doing what I thought was the right thing - no need to thank me, Taillow. I feel like Iv'e been thanked just in seein' you cheerful, y'know?" Of course, most folk might think him silly for that - but he didn't need fancy stuff like rewards or thank-yous after helping someone. He did it to try and make the world more just and fair to others...perhaps even a little better, through his little acts of kindness. No wonder he liked the colour blue so much: after all, some people saw it as a colour worn by truthful, law-abiding folks. The Taillow seemed to glance him and his companions over, before twittering something in that non-understandable pok'emon language again - Darucho wondering what the bird was trying to convey this time.

Really, he should consider finding a part-psychic or dragon-type someday, since they could 'talk' to human via telepathy apparently...that would make it a lot easier to have conversations with wild pok'emon! Mia, however, came to the spiky-haired human's aid once again, saying gently, "But...? What kind of but is there in this?" The taillow male had seemed to struggle a little in his words, so she'd decided to try and coax him along in this - if he had something important to say, then he shouldn't have to feel nervous: he could take his time if he wanted. Being the serious-natured pok'emon she was, she felt that sitting down and being able to talk reasonably an idea you had was very important. Wether it was Mia's words that helped the bird or something else - Taillow seemed to calm down a little, landing just outside the door before explaining that he believed it would be difficult to be a worthy rival to someone with such a clear advantage and whom could travel freelly. Mia hummed, nodding thoughtfully at this: he had a point. And he'd been quite insistant on becoming her 'rival', too...so, what would he decide now that one option had been crossed off the 'list', so to speak? Though the Pidgey understood what Taillow was saying, more or less, the young Zigzagoon by Darucho didn't, asking in a high-pitched voice what that meant. Taillow seemed to glare rather irritably at her, saying that this meant he had a debt to repay.

Mia smiled slightly - ah, she bet she fully understood where this was going now. Speaking up in that gentle way, she said, "So - you want to try and repay Darucho and us for our assistance, am I correct?" She seemed to have hit the nail right on the head with that - the Taillow then saying that the group would no doubt benefit from his protection. Thistle then spoke up in that childish manner, asking right out if the bird wanted to be Darucho's pok'emon - which the brid gave no reply to, sullenly silent and looking quite fustrated with itself. Though Mia understood where Taillow had been going with this line of questioning, this silence...seemingly silence of admittance... still surprised her. Turning to Darucho, she caught his attention by poking her beak into his shoulder - much like one might tap there to get your attention. darucho felt the jab and turned to Mia, saying, "What is it, Mia? Also...isn't there a better way of letting me know you need to talk to me?" The Pidgey raised an eyebrow at this, and Darucho didn't need a translator to know that she'd found that question a little silly. What other way did she have of telling him? Darucho turned red again, saying, "Yeah....that was a dumb question...anyways. What is it?" The Pidgey hummed thoughtfully - how to convey this?

Getting an idea, she pointed to the Taillow with a wing, before beggining to march up and down Darucho's left shoulder slightly - like a sentry on guard. Darucho looked at Mia, saying, "Taillow...is guarding something?" Mia shurgged slightly with her wings - Darucho was on the right track, but not QUITE correct. The human watched her closely as she...pointed to him. Wait...what? Darucho scratched his hair before saying, sounding a little unsure about what he was about to suggest, as he totally hadn't seen any of this comming, "Taillow...wants to help guard us? Is that right?" Mia nodded twice to show Darucho was pretty much as correct as he was going to get with this whole thing. Darucho let out a soft whistle, before saying to Taillow, "Well - though I didn't expect you to want to stay - I know you'd be an awesome partner in our group. If you really do want to come with us - I don't object to that!" The young male grinned a little, before suddenly realizing something - the Taillow was probably still hungry, huh? This thought in mind, Darucho would get out some of his dark chocolate and put some close to the bird, saying, "Here...try some of this. You still look hungry..." Wether or not the bird chose to touch the chocolate, it would be left there while Darucho took an empty pok'eball out from his belt and slowly placed it down on the ground. As he did this, he would say, "Well - I'm not going to be rude about this. You can have the choice of capturing yourself, like Vera and Apollo had...but whatever you decide, I want you to know...that I think you're pretty brave, to go saying something that serious to someone you don't know that well." Darucho gave an honets, admiring grin of sorts, before stepping back, looking embarred once more- he'd waffled on far too long, there.

It was time for the bird to make his final decision - and Darucho was still being kind, still letting the wild know that he: being the easy-going guy that he was - wasn't just going to force anything on this situation.

The Taillow watched Mia's attempts to translate his words with curiousity. It was quite interesting, really; he had never seen anything like it. Then again, seeing trainers outside the context of battle was a rarity. The cheerful response from you was also something of a shocker, and he stumbled back a little when you placed the chocolate down, blinking. Maybe he had expected something a little more...subdued? Formal? Something more like they way he had phrased his own words? Or more like Mia has phrased hers when trying to calm him down?

Taillow was a warrior, a creature of lethal speed and strength in battle. He feared nothing, fought all who challenged him, swore to avenge his losses, and sought to test himself against worthy rivals. He had honour and respect, though his self-control had eroded with all others' in the madness sweeping through the forest. He intended to keep a certain amount of dignity with this alliance.

That went right out the window with his first peck of the chocolate. The flavour, perhaps, was not the finest he had ever tasted, but tasting anything seemed to awaken the full force of his hunger. He devoured the dark chocolate with the sort of lightning fast attack he used in battle, the morsel of food vanishing in a flash. Then he stared at the pokeball like he would eye a particularly dangerous foe, one that managed to inspire caution in his attack.

He placed a wing on the smooth surface, tracing the division between the top and bottom with his feathers and lightly brushing against the button on the front. His decision was made, his debt to be repaid, but to enter one of these devices would require all of his bravery, all of his strength. Confinement was a foe he truly feared battle with, something that could tip the scales in another's favour.

Finally, in his frustration with his own cowardly behvaiour, he slapped the sphere with his wing, sending it rolling along the sidewalk. Thistle, still by your side, zeroed in on the moving object and, with a sound somewhat like a giggle, bounced over to bat it back with her paw. The Taillow stared, stopping it with his wing. Thistle wagged her tail and hopped in place, so he passed it back, more gently. Back it came to him. He smiled slightly, his anxiety and frustration fading.

Holly, of course, couldn't really see much from the inside, and thought her Zigzagoon was probably doing more harm than good. "Thistle! What're you doing, silly girl?" she called, and Thistle perked up before trotting back inside to her trainer. The Taillow watched her go, then looked back up at you, remembering what you'd said. He was brave.

He was brave, and he wouldn't let this control him. "I will repay my debt," he breathed to himself, before pecking the pokeball firmly on its button. The capture device shuddered after it closed around him, but the sound of successful capture rung out a moment later.

(Attempting to get some positive happiness for Diego the Taillow in this post.)

As Mia finished her 'translation' job, she couldn't help but notice as she had been trying to convey the message to Darucho: the Taillow had watched on the whole time, an almost amused-seeming expression on his feathered face as Darucho played through that little game of 'charades' before eventually catching on to what the wild was trying to say, and making that offer of chocolate to the bird - after which he mused that the Taillow could do whatever he wished in this situation: though he quite respected the bird and thought it would be awesome if he did decide to join them. The Taillow seemed quite shocked at this - literatly almost falling out of the air in sheer surprise, which confused Darcuho a little - just because Taillow was a battle-oreintated pok'emon, didn't meant that nobody should not try and be nice to him, right? Of course, the human didn't know that possibly the main reason that Taillow was so shocked was the fact Darucho had been so... forward in willing to be kind to him, and bringing out that dark chocolate without a second thought. It came as no shock to Mia, however - Darucho was always hasty. He also was NEVER subtle- heck, she cared about him, but even she thought that he couldn't be subtle if he fell face-first into a pile of it, honestly. Oh well. At least nobody could accuse him of lying to anyone else - because he couldn't be subtle, lies showed up on his face just as clearly as his awkwardness around Holly a few moments ago...

As the Taillow slowly seemed to get over his sheer surprise, he looked at the chocolate with an almost judging expression, as if he did not approve of these shenanigans at all - and Darucho couldn't help rubbing the back of his spiky hair slightly, thinking he probably should have been a little more careful in his food choice for the bird than he had: but then again, he wasn't sure wether the Taillow would like lettuce sandwhiches either -after all, it hunted bugs to survive in the wild, so it probably wouldn't like any vegetarin options: the sheer thought of offering such a megre meal sounded downright insulting to Darucho - and he didn't want to insult a pok'emon he respected, oh no. Especially one that was considering joining his group to help him out - the least he could do to repay the bird for wanting to be of help to him was to offer him something he'd LIKE to eat. However, Darucho's slightly abashed feelings were soon faded away as the Taillow - after a single peck of the corner of chocolate - quickly ate it all up. Vera couldn't help relaxing a little more form her spot in darucho's backpack at this - now that the bird had some food in him, he was less likely to try and eat that cute Apollo if he lost his temper: for some reason, the bird seemed to constantly be trying to hold some anger back. Maybe he was infected, and the Pok'erust was just pushing him - and any other infected pok'emon - to randomly attack others, and slowly spread a sea of madness over the reigon - this thought scared her. She was certainly glad this bird- if he was infected - had chosen to be on their side.

The chocolate having been reduced to nothing very quickly, the Taillow then turned it's gaze onto the pok'eball that Darucho had put down - and it seemed that it had been a good thing that the human hadn't just chucked it, for the bird was eyeing it off like a knight might eye off a dangerous dragon - a mixture of tense readiness and determination in the wild's eyes. Darucho remained silent - he didn't need a translation from Mia to know what was going on here. Some pok'emon didn't like pok'eballs that much - he'd heard about this. Some trainer called Arsh Kethcup - or something like that - had a Pikachu that hated pok'eballs. For a wild like Taillow: whom had known nothing but freedom flying amongst the forest skies most it's life, probably - confinement in such a small, cramped-looking space wasn't such a nice sounding idea. Nay, it sounded like torture. Darucho wasn't a fan of keeping his pok'emon in their balls, which was obvious to see - being demizens of the sky, all birds should be able to keep their right to soar majestically through the clouds, insperational in their sheer sense of freedom... the folk back hom had thought him strange for thinking this. But - he just really looked up to flying-types, as a whole - and he wanted to treat any flying-type he met with the same respect he would give a person. Just because they were pok'emon didn't mean one should treat them differently than they would human compainons that fought by their sides...

The blue-feathered bird slowly brushed it's feathers against the candy-cane shaded orb, seeming in deep thought - eyes seeming to betray the conflict it must have felt, though it was clear that this pok'emon was not one to start panicking and showing it's unease obviously easily, no sir. Time seemed to tick by agonizingly slowly before the bird angrily slapped the sphere with his wing - looking extremely fustrated by this point - and sending the orb rolling like a soccer ball down the sidewalk. Darucho wished he could say something that didn't sound like false sympathy at this point to the bird, but he had no idea what to say or do right now - which was rare for him, seeing as he usually acted on spur-of-the-moment choices from his heart and all. However, the small Zigzagoon by his side that seemed to know exactly what to do - following the moving orb before batting it with her paw back to the Taillow. Darucho grinned- suddenly wishing he had a camera - it kind of reminded him of soccer, the way that Thistle had done that. Sometimes doing something else when you were fustrated to take your mind off things helped - but would it help Taillow? The bird stared at the orb - having stopped it with his wing - before turning his attention to Thistle, whom was wagging her tail and hopping in place, a clear invintation to play - and at this, Taillow passed the ball back to the goon, a little more gently than he had struck it before. The ball came back - and it seemed that the game had helped the Taillow to feel calm once more, as he had a small smile on his beak.

Even serious Mia couldn't help smiling a little at the scene: what a nice, thoughtful little young one. Darucho was certainly lucky to have such a friend - though it was the first friend he'd made that was not a wild pok'emon. However, the voice of Holly soon intterupted the racoon, the girl calling from inside - asking the racoon what she was doing. The racoon perked up, before going back inside to her trainer - leaving Darucho, his group of compainons and the wild Taillow to themselves. The wild bird watched her go, before looking at Darucho for a moment - who seemed surprised at the sudden gaze, but still had that look of respect towards the bird on his face - and wondering. Wondering of what the wild would do now. The bird seemed determined to make a choice, and was seen quite clearly to focus before pecking at the ball - the orb drawing the bird into it's depths, shaking before suddenly halting and letting out a ding. Darucho picked up the orb and pressed the button, letting the bird back out in a flash of light. The human smiled at the bird as it reappeared, saying nothing - but he really didn't need to. It was obvious he had thought that whole scene quite admirable and awesome.

The silence didn't last long, though, Darucho saying, "Glad to have you on the team, Taillow...but..." Taillow stared at the human - what was he saying 'but' for? Was he having second thoughts? However, this line of thought on Taillow's part as he hovered slightly in front of the human and the others was proven quite wrong, the human saying, "Uhm - it sounds rude to just call you Taillow all the time...I want you to feel like you're welcome in our group, and not just 'another species'. Do you mind me giving you a nickname? How does...Diego sound? Yeah, Diego! That suits you - it sounds like a determined sort of name - but what do you think?" The bird outright stared - what an odd human. First the human food and now this: not calling his pok'emon by their species names and being impersonal, he instead chose to give them nicknames to help them feel as if they fitted in. He wasn't quite sure how to react - he'd never encountered this side of humans before. Any human he met back at the Forest of Fury usually attacked him right away: usually with no honour at all. But this young human was...different. He couldn't quite place what it was about this human that got through to him - maybe it was the fact the human had been the first to help him out in a long time?

Pok'emon back at the forest fended for themselves - and you weren't expected to help others, nor should you expect help - it was merciless. It felt like...this human should be all the more fervently protectedin the Taillow's mind, now, for to show honour - to help one whom had fallen despite putting yourself at risk - it was brave, in a way, and this bravery got through to the bird. After a while of musing about the issue, the Taillow slowly nodded. Darucho grinned back, saying, "Hey, I'm glad you like it, Diego. Once we get back into the center, I'll ask if we can get some proper food, okay? That chocolate probably wasn't enough to completly satisfy your hunger..." Diego reeled again at this. My - the life of a owned pok'emon was vastly different from that of life in the forest - it surprised him. But: though he felt touched by the human's offer to continue to help him out, the Taillow kept a serious and proud expression, flying up and giving the human an expectant look - as if telling him to hurry up and choose where he wanted to go, already.

Darucho said, "I'm feeling hungry myself - I hope the center there has food for people as well as pok'emon. We'll have some food before we go back out to the forest - i'm not done there yet! I'm going to find out the mysteries of that place, even if I have to get through a million obstacles! If the forest needs help...i'm NOT gonna give up!" Determination - taht was something in this unfammilar-seeming situation that Diego could recgonise, and admire. Seemed he and the human had that in common - they both didn't like to give up on their plans and dreams. Maybe repaying the debt to this human wouldn't be so bad, after all...as Darucho ehaded back into the center, Taillow smiled ever so slightly - nobody noticing this smile - before following the human. He was a serious fighter he wasn't going to sit on Darucho like Apollo or Mia were, or ride in his backpack. He had SOME dignity, after all.

0.3 :gexp I think naming and promise of more food is enough for +1 :happiness .

Holly was off to one side on one of the benches inside the centre, sitting with Thistle in her lap and Typhoon and her Shinx on either side of her. The Spearow was sitting rather sullenly on her shoulder, with Prince on the other. The shoulder-riding Totodile gave a small wave, almost a sort of salute, as you and your team walked back in, and Holly looked up from giving Thistle a round, green and pink berry to munch on and looked like she would stand up if not for the Zigzagoon's presence in her lap.

The nurse was wearing a bandage on her arm and looked particularly sour when you walked in with Diego flying behind you. Not that she would really be blaming the bird; even if she was rash and tempermental, she wouldn't have this job if she was prone to disliking pokemon, even after being injured by one.

Holly finally decided to simply scoop up the little racoon dog and place her next to Typhoon before walking over to your little group. She looked at Diego and simply shook her head. "Wow, didn't expect you to stick around," she told the Taillow. The Spearow on her shoulder eyed Diego for a moment before snorting in contempt and rolling her eyes. Prince, in contrast, gave a subtle smile and nodded in greeting. The three pokemon on the bench were content to stay there, though the Shinx swished his tail and watched you lazily. Hmm, a human he didn't recognize.

(Attempting to get some more positive happiness for Diego the Taillow in this post.)

As Darucho headed back inside through the automatic glass doors of the pok'emon center - he noticed that Holly was sitting off to the side on one of the benches - her Totodile and Shinx sitting to either side of her and Thistle now sitting on her lap - recieving a watermelon-like berry from the girl, as the wolf-pup and the Spearow sat on the girl's shoulders: though the bird didn't look too happy at all as she sat there. Darucho guessed she hadn't really gotten used to Holly as her 'master' yet, he was guessing. Either that, or the bird still disliked humans a whole lot for what it had gone through concerning people before being captured. The blue-clad human wished he could help the girl further: but she might not like him barging into her buisness with her own pok'emon really, so this idea was soon pushed firmly out of his mind. The Totodile gave a small salute-like wave at the group as they ventured back in, at which Darucho smiled - returning the favour - but his face turned very red as Holly caught him in this act, looking up from giving her racoon friend the berry. However: he pushed past his awkward feelings at the moment - he needed to find the nurse and ask where they gave out food here. He was going to keep the promise he amde to Diego, even if it meant shelling out the last of what little money he had left: but then again, healing your pok'emon here was free, so why should you be charged for food as well?

Looking around, Darucho soon spotted the nurse - though he sweatdropped at seeing the bandage and glaring look she was wearing -particularly in Diego's direction, who didn't seem apologetic at all: he'd been panicking, and nobody, NOBODY touched HIM without permission. He was a fighter: a defender of this human now too, yes - but he was not some 'pet'. That was where he drew the line - he was willing to accept travelling around with this spiky-haired one, seeing as he had a debt to repay still - that, and he was curious to find out more about this very strange human that acted differently from those he'd encountered thus far: and being inside again, as long as he didn't have to go inside that wretched contraption again that supressed him - but he wanted to keep his 'personal rights' thank you very much. The nurse seemed to be glaring daggers, but Darucho wasn't scared at all, walking close to her before asking her, "Excuse me...do you have any...canteens or stuff like that here? If not, do you...know where the nearest resteraunt is? I promise my compainons we'd have something to eat before going back to the Forest..." Straight to the point, he was - and Diego couldn't help admiring the human a little for standing up to that annoying nurse, despite the obvious glaring she was giving him. Suddenly, a movement nearby diverted Darucho's gaze - he seeing Holly pick up Thistle and place the racoon next to Typhoon the Totodile before walking over to the group, Darucho feeling his awkwardness rise up yet again as the girl walked close to him.

The girl looked at Diego, who fixed her with a serious stare back, before speaking up and saying that she hadn't expected him to stick around. The Taillow still only gave that serious gaze - he was a creature of honour, and a debt was not something he took lightly. Gee - he was so stony serious that he made Mia look like a carefree school-girl in compaison, Apollo privately thought to himself as he watched the scene unfold from where he was sitting on Darucho's head. When the Spearow snorted in a contempous-sounding fashion and olled her eyes at Diego, Vera the Metapod shrank down into the backpack again, half expecting the Taillow to lash out at the other bird - he seemed like he had a bit of a temper - but much to her surprise, Diego did nothing but snort contempously right back at the other bird. Yes, he could feel the anger rising up inside him, said anger inside him urging him with that harsh tone to not let that mere commoner do that to him - to wipe that smirk off her face - but his logic won out - this time. This bird didn't look half as strong as he was: not a challange at all, really. Besides - it would not be honourable to fight a foe weaker than yourself.

However, the other pok'emon had a more respectful greeting at least - at least HE knew how a warrior should be treated, and he nodded right back - a small hint of a smile right back as well. The three pok'emon on the bench remained there, though the Shinx watched Darucho in a lazy fashion. Darucho said to Holly, "Y-yeah...Mia said he's com-come along to 'guard me' or something like that. It c-came as a shock..nobody's ever tried to repay me for kindness before. I mean...I don't d-do it for rewards...I just do it to help the people and pok'emon in-involved...maybe make the wo-world better somehow?" Diego raised a brow at this - such a childish view it was, yet - it had honour to it, just as he tried to have his own actions to do. Though the human obviously had much to learn about being a true 'warrior of justice': Diego couldn't help but feel slightly more trusting of the spiky-haired one. Hmmm - if he could teach this naive one more about how to really be a foe of the wicked in a powerful fashion, he'd have a good fellow warrior to rely on - and not just see the human as a mere 'thing to protect until a debt was repaid'.

As the Taillow mused about this, Darucho said, "I'm go-going to get so-something to eat for my compainons an-and me before I ehad back to the f-forest...do...do you want to come with me? It'd b-be nice to have your company..." Mia ruffled her feathers amusedly from her perch on Darucho's shoulder at this - ooh, was her young man kind of...asking Holly if he could get to know her a little betetr over dinner? How cute! Kind of romantic, too...she didn't think such a naive soul had it in him, honestly. Deigo stared at the human: not understanding the situation at all - but he didn't think he wanted to, anyway.

The nurse probably would have answered, pointing out that one of the things Pokemon Centres provided, along with free rooms, was food, but Holly's presence and the immediate attention she received meant that she didn't bother responding. Let the kids chat and ignore her; not like she cared.

Holly looked at Diego, giving an amused smile. "I think I know how he feels." She cast a small glance at the bench, and Typhoon looked up from watching Thistle amuse herself by laying on her back and pretending to catch the ceiling lights in her paws to meet her gaze. "Meeting Typhoon was kind of like that." The wolf gave a snort but didn't elaborate; he seemed a little embarassed about the story behind that.

The next question caught the young woman off-guard, and she blushed. "Uh, well, actually, we...We were about to head to this cute coffee shop in town. There are some outdoor tables where it's fine to have your pokemon out, and Thistle can't resist the sweets there..." She ran her fingers through her short hair; she had removed the towel from her shoulders during Diego's inner conflict about coming along, and her hair was more-or-less completely dried by now. Then, flashing a slightly more confident smile, she added. "But I'm buying. I still owe you for saving me, and helping me with Tempest." She gestured toward her Spearow, who seemed to growl.

"I did not approve this," the predatory bird grumbled. Typhoon snorted and slid off the bench to walk to to his trainer's side, leaving the Shinx continuing to observe and Thistle blinking in surprise at the dots in her vision after staring up at the lights so long. He gave a nod similar to Prince's in Diego's direction, then looked up at Tempest.

"When you try to take off Holly's fingers, you forfeit your right to vote," he said calmly, and Prince nodded.

"Couldn't have said it better myself, friend," the Totodile commented, and Tempest scowled and sulked, muttering darkly under her breath, only to jolt at the sudden thud behind them.

The Shinx stared lazily, with mild amusement, at the lump of zigzaged fur on the ground as Thistle woosily got to her feet after her face-first collision with the Centre floor, still blinking confusedly at the coloured spots always a bit ahead of her. Holly sighed and shook her head. "Okay, no more Watmel berries for you." Thistle blinked at Holly and, at the word 'berries,' pranced over with a wagging tail.

(Sorry for the lack of concentration on my part, there. ^^;)

As Darucho chatted in that awkward way to Holly, Mia had to shake her head a little at her trainer- now that he was busy talking to Holly, she was willing to bet that the nurse wasn't going to tell him at all wether or not you could food here: she didn't look like the type of person who LIKED being ignored in such a manner, really. And sure enough, Mia's assumption seemed to be quite correct in this regard, for the nurse seemed to fold her arms in a grumpy fashion - glaring daggers at the spiky-haired Darucho - and didn't say a single word about where to get food. Oh boy. Mia sighed a little to herself - she knew Darucho was practically dead broke concerning money at the moment, and he never broke his promises: he'd get food for Diego, even if it cost him what little cash that he had on him. Maybe Darucho might have to actually get a job besides being your 'friendly neighbourhood hero' if he continued to blow his spendings at such a rate...which seemed ironic to Mia, as she didn't think trainers could have a job aside from training pok'emon and generally being trainers. As she mused about this, Holly glanced at Diego for a moment - an amused smile playing about her face - before she said that she had a good idea of how the bird felt. Darucho nodded thoughtfully at this, but Diego raised a skeptical brow: how could a human ever truly understand the complex mind of a pok'emon - and a warrior one at that?!

The girl took a quick glance at the bench where her pok'emon were - the wolf-cub watching the racoon lay on it's back in a childish manner and attempt to catch the celing lights, which earned a confused stare from both Diego and Mia and a amused giggle from Vera. Apollo tilted his ehad sideways at the scene, before saying, "Wow, I didn't know you could catch the lights like that! Now I want to do that, too!" Yes...he really WAS that naive. Vera's giggles rose higher as Apollo randomly fluttered up to one of the lights and started flying around it, attempting to grab at it with his stubby insect legs. Mia and Diego both rolled their eyes in unison, and Darucho made a mental note not to shine lights TOO close to Apollo infuture as he continued to circle around one of the lights, saying, "I almooost got it! Hey, come here and lemme grab you, you stuupid light. D:<" Holly then spoke up again, drawing Darucho's attention away from Apollo as she said that meeting Typhoon had been much like that. The spiky-haired human looked at Tyhpoon curiously after that statement - he really seemed protective of Holly. What had she done to make him such good friends with her? He really wanted to know - he didn't want Diego to feel like a mere 'babysitter', after all.

But if Darucho was looking for answers in this regard, he most certainly was not going to get them from the wolf-pup, the pok'emon giving a single snort and nothing more - but he looked a little embarassed. Had his 'capture' been one of those downright strange ones, or something? However, this question that Darucho was thinking about soon left his mind when Holly spoke up once more - her face turning that curious red shade again as she did so, he noticed - saying that she and her pok'emon were about to head to a cute coffee shop in town. Apparently, there were outdoor tables where it was fine to have their pok'emon out, and Thistle adored the sweets there - Darucho said, "Re-really? Wow, wh-what a coincer-coincedence! SI-since you were nice enough to tell m-me aout that place, I'll pay if you want.." Mia sighed, slapping her left wing to her forehead in exasperation. Darucho REALLY needed to be a bit more responsible with his money sometimes...honestly, if he wasn't spending it on his friends, he was using it for the benefit of others. Mia would like it if he saved some of it for himself once in a while...he rarely ever got anything just for him and him alone. Holly ran her fingers through her hair before flashing a confident smile at Darucho's words, saying that SHE would be the one paying - after all, she still owed Darucho for saving her, and helping her with Tempest.

Tempest...? Darucho blinked confusedly at this unfammilar name, but realized that it was the Spearow's new nickname when Holly gestured towards the bird, who didn't seem to approve of this situation at all, feathers on knife-edge point and leering at Darucho in a most nasty seeming fashion. Vera shrank back into Darucho's backpack at hearing the bird grumble that she did not approve this: but Typhoon and Prince soon quited her grumblings for the time being at saying that when someone tried to take off Holly's fingers, they basically forfeited their right to vote. She still didn't seem happy about this - and Diego didn't seem to like the idea either, feathers bristling - oh GREAT, he had to put up with that twit of a Spearow longer. But - if it meant that the human kept his promise and fed him, he would still go along with it. Besides- if something happened while there, that way he'd get some training in as well. Mia looked at the grumbling Spearow - then Diego - for a moment, before sighing to herself. They were both as stubborn and hard-headed as the other, it seemed like...just then, a sudden thud nearby diverted everyone's attention: the Zigzagoon had fallen off the couch because it had looked irectly into the lights for too long. The Shinx seemed to have a mildly amused expression on it's face as Holly exclaimed that Thistle was not getting any more Watmel Berries, the racoon prancing over - in what seemed a still dizzy fashion - at hearing the word 'berry.' Darucho was going to say something, when suddenly Apollo fell down from above - dizzy after spinning around that light for so long - and landed right on top of Darucho's head, the human almost falling at the unpexcted added weight, Mia sighing as Apollo said in a disoreintated fashion, "Doooo....doooo...oooh, pretty liiights..." Oh boy. Moths and birhgt lights obviously didn't mix. Darucho sympathetically grabbed Apollo gently off his head and put him in his amrs while he recovered, after which he said, "S-so...uhm...do-do you wanna lead the way? i dunno where the coffee shop is..."
