Back to the journey, and back to the flat terrain. Flat, open terrain that meant that almost nothing could sneak up on Alex while he was travelling. Guru was out, acting in a dual role as psychic scout and berry tender. So what can we expect from the area around Bloodaisy? "Not much. It's flat, and the ground is dust instead of grass. We passed all the scenic stuff about two towns ago." Get there, take a few pictures, move on, right? "Yep." That was all they had to say on that topic, so on they went, towards the dustlands. ~~~~~ Watmel Berry Tree: 1/7 berry growth, 1/7 watering (Stable Mulch, Rich Compost) Route: Trampled Grass 3 -> Thin Shrubs - Open Space 1 - Bloodaisy |

0.2 ![]() Flat, open terrain. Yeah, pretty hard to sneak up on anyone here, let alone someone with an Alakazam keeping watch. Which is why the only two pokemon nearby didn't escape Guru's notice, even though the shrubs hid them somewhat until one came flying out with a cry to tackle the other. Two female Nidoran, likely sisters, tumbled through the shrubs until they ended up right in front of you. Then they both squeaked in fright and readied themselves for a fight, just in case this stranger had an intention to use them for training. If you ignored them, they'd happily do so as well, but they'd fight if they had to. Lvl 23 x 2[Ready to fight if they have to] |

Alex berry checked, doing each fruit. Guru helped, if just keeping lobes minded... Nidoran? Oh. Pretty quickly reacting, said trainer utilised vision. Watmels xeroxing? Yep. Zounds! ... Those Nidoran surprised Alex. So much so, that his thoughts had become de-alphabetised. Usually they turned up in gender couples, not two females, like here. I think they're related. Fair enough. But what to do? They weren't immediately aggressive, and poison was always annoying to fight against, and Alex did want to press on towards the dustlands. So he left them alone. While Guru could in all likelihood squish their brains up something fierce, the trainer was in more of a travelling mood. As they passed, Guru made a polite nod on behalf of Alex. Then they continued south-east-ish. ~~~~~ Watmel Berry Tree: 2/7 berry growth, 2/7 watering (Stable Mulch, Rich Compost) Route: Trampled Grass 3 -> Thin Shrubs - Open Space 1 - Bloodaisy |

.3 So you decided to leave the nidoran alone, a nice thing of you to do, and you continued moving onwards towards your destination. Something however could be seen from a great distance away. From a distance it looked large, however once you got closer, you'd realize it was actually a large group of pokemon, and you go closer still! Finding a rather large group of Mareep running through the grasslands. However something else seemed strange they did not look like they were running happily, they had a look of terror on their faces! You'd soon notice a much smaller group of Poochyena chasing the Mareep and snapping their jaws loudly. Obviously these little sheep were in some serious danger, and it looks like they could use some help. x10LV 18 -all running from Poochyena x4LV 22 -trying to eat all the Mareep |

(0.2 )Sure enough, another flurry of activity popped up ahead of Alex. Some sheep, chased by some wolves. Well, hyenas. Or something. The trainer consulted his pokédex to guage the approximate strength of the Poochyena critters. Finding them to be manageable enough, and using altruism as a convenient excuse to train, he sent out Enigma for another bout. As a bit of added insurance, Alex also gave the Metang an elemental plate that he'd been storing for a situation like this. Keep hold of this. It'll boost up your earthquakes a bit. Guru's moustache twitched. Earthquakes? I'm guessing you don't want to take out the Mareep as well. That's where you come in, Guru. Think you could lift them out of range? The Alakazam nodded, handed Alex the berry tree, and waited to time his action. Once Enigma had taken to the air, the non-armoured psychic broadcast a warning message to the fleeing sheep. We're here to help. There's an earthquake coming. I'm going to lift you. The way it was timed, Guru would telekinetically raise the sheep a couple of feet just before Enigma slammed itself down into the ground, causing a seismic wave that would, in theory, cause massive damage to the Poochyena but harmlessly pass under the Mareep flock. Crazier things had happened. ~~~~~ "Enigma" Lv. 26 - 78/78 ![]() Ability: Clear Body Holding: Earth Plate - Earthquake x2 "Guru" Lv. 31 - 93/93 ![]() Ability: Synchronize - telekinetically lifting the Mareep out of the way of the earthquakes Vs. x10LV 18 54/54 ![]() -all running from Poochyena x4LV 22 44/44 ![]() -trying to eat all the Mareep Watmel Berry Tree: 3/7 berry growth, 3/7 watering (Stable Mulch, Rich Compost) Route: Trampled Grass 3 -> Thin Shrubs - Open Space 1 - Bloodaisy |

.2 ![]() And so, the sheep were running in panic and the Poochyena were slobbering after them, when suddenly! It took the sheep a moment to notice that they were running in midair and not quite getting anywhere. The mysterious psychic voice in their head meant nothing to them but more danger, and a few of them BAAAA'd in panic. The Poochyena slid to a stop, baffled at this turn of events. Their dinner was fleeing in midair! Although then Enigma slammed into the ground and those mutts went down faster than two-dollar hookers. Now with a bunch of KO'd Poochyena sprawled around the grass, there was nothing to stop the Mareep from fleeing to safer pastures. Except, you know, Guru. And Enigma gains a whopping 3.2 , too. Dang.

(0.2 . Enigma levels to 28, learns Pursuit.)"Clear." Guru relaxed his hold on the Mareep, setting them on the ground and allowing them to run away to safety. Enigma hovered back to Alex, completely unscathed from those exertions. Always nice to win without any complications. Alex congratulated the steel pokémon, and continued onwards towards the dustlands. He was flanked by the two psychics, and was tending to the berry tree as well. Something to do on his travels. ~~~~~ Watmel Berry Tree: 3/7 berry growth, 3/7 watering (Stable Mulch, Rich Compost) Route: Trampled Grass 3 -> Thin Shrubs - Open Space 1 - Bloodaisy |

.2 Trampled grass, crushed by that of many feet and maybe those Mareep, gave way to happy little Boss Ross trees and shrubs that gently shook and rustled their little happy leaves at you. Just like Herb the Hibiscus. He bobs his happy little blossoms at people who come to visit. Such a nice little porch plant. Speaking of which, theres a certain amount of joy that comes from befriending your plants and Guru certainly seems taken with his study of the Watmel. So...Guru gains one happy point. Why? Do you need a reason? Plants are just awesome. Since Im in tree hugger mode, guess what youre going to find out here in the shrubs? Thats right a grass type pokemon! Among the briars and brambles and hiding shyly behind swaying clumps of brightly colored wild blossoms that buzzed with bees and crawled with perfectly ordinary spiders (blagh), there was a single Bellspout. You saw its long pitcher like face turned brightly upwards to the sun, obviously minding its own business but not unaware of you and Guru. It winked as you passed by and hummed merrily to itself, happy as can be. Lvl 25You moved to the next landmark and Guru gained one happy point. Yay! |
