Primeval Forest. Just its name gave the teenager chills. Nami walked, surrounded by the towering trees, and felt a wave of calm wash over her, the tension and burning loathing for the city she left behind ebbing away to be replaced by a feeling of peace. Some people found the forest frightening, as if the trees were warning them away, but that was because they were human. Nami belonged, and was welcomed by the forest. The reaching branches some felt were reaching out with manevolent intent were Nami's inviting embrace. The trees were her friends, the pokemon her cousins. ...Which made her intent in this forest, to some, all the more sinister. Nami was to play an active part in natural selection. Not a single creature that crossed her path would leave without being put to her test. The weak would be left on the path behind her in defeat or captured to become one of the strong. Three species, specifically, would be her targets for capture. She would seek pidgey, because pidgeot ruled the skies and she intended to rule them through one, and wurmple, because great strength could be hidden behind an insect's facade of weakness, and poochyena, for their strength of jaws and force of personality. Any others captured would be so on a whim. Nami fingered the golden pokeball around her neck, her pokeball, and wondered, idly, what it would be like to spend her life inside. Hers could no longer return her like a traditional one, and merely remained linked to her enough to keep her out of another. She had never dwelled in its depths. She supposed it was pleasant enough; she had heard no complaint from her father's psychics about it. 0.3 With Nami's most likely heightened senses, the forest was a place positively teeming with life. Each whisper of the wind was accompanied by the echo of a chattering bird, and every swish of grass was a bug searching for its next meal. A particularly loud squawk sound nearby predated the appearance of a brown bird, swooping out of its perch in a close tree and just barely missing Nami as it lashed out with a flashing talon. Aggravated with its miss, the bird alighted on a close branch, turning quickly and firing Nami a glare. A surprised look crossed its face. The Pidgey cocked its head, looking Nami over with a curious gaze. She possessed the general structure and form of one of those dreaded trainers, but her scent was all wrong. It smelled vaguely of a fire-type that the bird had encountered before, but was not immediately identifiable. The Pidgey had to shake its head to clear away these distracting thoughts. Either way, whatever this thing was, it was invading territory. Emitting another terrible screech, the Pidgey lifted off the branch and broke into a dive, its gleaming beak and talons pointed directly at Nami, ready for attack. The bird was moving rather swiftly, so Nami better act quickly if she wants to get out of the way. ![]() Level 4 12/12 ![]() -Air Slash- Edited by Fantasy Shadow, Aug 17 2009, 08:16 PM.

0.3 ![]() Nami was very rarely truly at peace and, unfortunately for her, she was neither in that desired state nor likely to remain in her state close to it very long. She scanned the area for pokemon, focusing every ounce of her senses. She wondered which sounds and scent to pursue, which fights to pick, as she made her way along. She was finally brought back to the here and now by a shriek that came moments before the whistle of air in front of her face and a flash of brown that barely missed her. Nami leaped back, pressing her back against a tree, and looked for the source of the attack. Her eyes met the watching pidgey's, and her mouth curved into a smile as she sized it up. It was a little bit tougher than what she'd been hoping for, but it had an aggression she found perfect. After all, it had attacked her first, not the most common act from a bird pokemon famed for being docile. She knew she was faster than a pidgey, as it was the slowest of the common birds, which was a point in her favour, as was the fact that, judging by it's missed attack before, it had a poor habit of announcing its attacks with a cry. She would have to work on breaking that habit during training. It was just watching her with that familiar perplexed expression that pokemon got when they were trying to figure out what she was, and Nami let her inner fire grow hotter in preparation for making the first move. Then it shook its head, let out a shriek, and took off. Oh hell. It was coming right at her with murder in its eyes, and her priority moved from frying the bird to not getting hit. Nami nearly choked on a half-formed Ember as she leaped to the side and darted behind the tree she'd been leaning up against. She didn't bother to wait for what she felt was the unavoidable sound of the bird hitting the tree. Nami raised her hand and spat a few hot embers on it, feeling the rush of power fill her, her inner furnace burning hotter than before. A red glow came to her eyes, and her lip curled in a snarl. It always felt like the pokemon part of her rushed to the surface when she did that, and she shook her head to clear it. She reached into her pack and grabbed a pokeball. Nami leaped from behind the tree, landing on all fours. It was a position the bird was not likely expecting and hopefully would not be prepared to attack. The expanded pokeball was also concealed by her right hand, only to be seen when she threw it. Her eyes still had a faint glow as she searched the air for her opponent to aim her powered-up Ember at. If it took the hit and lasted, the pokeball would the next thing to strike it. .3 for Vulpy's postTHUNK. Sliiiiiiiide. Flop. Yeah, not a good day to be that bird. Not a good day at all. Becoming friendly with the tree like he had not only hurt the bird, but confused him a little bit from the impact. He had been expecting to slash and claw into flesh, not slam into a freakin' tree. He stood up on the ground at the base of the tree, shaking his head and trying to recover a little bit, when suddenly there were embers on his feathers, charring them. The bird, weakened by his mistake and suddenly being ON FIRE and everything, lifted into the air and spun around, aiming a flash of spinning blades at the fox-human-whateverthehell, before getting struck with the ball. It wasn't going to win that battle, that was for sure. -- Level 5 6/10 Ability: Flash Fire *+7 * vs Level 4 1/12 *Catch'd, 2 *

0.3 *giggle*Warning: Looooong post ahead. Nami took a hissing breath through her teeth as the blades of air cut into the arm she raised to shield herself. Luckily, she was right handed and it was her left that had been struck. Otherwise, she may have missed her target. The glow began to fade from her eyes as she watched the pokeball, and a satisfied smile crossed her face when it stopped and the sound of capture reached her ears. One down, two to go. Then the sting of pain returned and she grabbed her pack. Nami looked at the medicine and shook her head. No, she wasn't injured enough to warrant using them. She pulled out the first aid kit her father insisted she bring and wrapped a bandage around the cuts. She tightened them until she was satisfied that they wouldn't come undone, but knew her hand wouldn't turn purple, either, and finally turned her attention to the pokeball. Unlike herself, the pokemon within would need medicine. She cursed as she reached for it; she should have gotten some artificial medicines so she wouldn't have to give her herbs to the bird. The pidgey appeared in a flash of light. He looked around frantically, disoriented, then shrieked at her and spread his wings to take off. Knowing that an attack was coming, Nami dove at him and grabbed him. The pidgey was slammed against a tree trunk with two hands tightly around him, and he continued to shriek and made to peck at her hands. "Spill my blood, and you're a dead bird." He froze and looked up at her, seeing a hint of smoke curling from her bared teeth that indicated a coming Ember. He fell silent and no longer tried to attack her, it finally seeming to get through his thick skull that this, whatever kind of unnatural creature it was, was something that could kill him. "Good." She didn't let go, but she turned her head and spat her forming Ember on the ground, letting it burn a patch of grass before the flames died beneath her boot. He was frightened, hurting, and probably very close to passing out. Nami would have to speak quickly. "You are a very stupid bird," she told him bluntly, seeing the fury he had displayed in their fight flash into his eyes. "You don't think. You hurl yourself into battle, heedless of any danger. You don't consider that your opponent may be faster, stronger, or have powers you don't. That's why I'm pinning you here, and you're linked to one of my pokeballs. You lost because you're power without thought." Then she let go. He just flopped to the ground, and stared up at her angriliy. Nami grabbed her pack and opened the pouch she'd been keeping her medicines in. "Do you like bitter-tasting things?" She got no reply, and so pulled out one of her Energy Powders and placed it in front of him. "This will heal your wounds, but it's probably the most bitter thing you'll ever taste in your life." He pushed himself to his feet with a charred wing and pecked lightly at the powder. Judging by the lack of any significant change of expression, he didn't like or dislike the taste. Just like her. They had something in common. Nami watched the pidgey carefully as he made his way through the mound of powder, seeing his injuries seem to fade away and the marks left behind by her Ember slowly vanish. She sat on the ground with her legs crossed, thinking. "Someday, you'll be a pidgeot," she commented. He glanced up and then went back to pecking. "That's if you live long enough and ever get strong enough." His feathers bristled, making him look like some kind of brown, feathery tennis ball. Was that actually intended to be intimidating? "Oh, I'm not saying that your way won't get you far, but medicines like that powder don't come in large quantities here. And having someone around who actually thinks would be helpful." He finished off the powder and looked at Nami with the usual level of distrust. It was something of a staring match at that point, but it seemed to be a good sign that he didn't fly away or attack her again. Nami met his gaze with a calm stare. She wasn't afraid of him, and there were still flickers of fear of the unknown behind all that fire. "I'm a vulpix, by the way. Partially one, anyway," she finally said in a conversational manner, and the bird simply blinked at her, "I look like a human, and I can't speak your language, but I have all the powers of a pokemon. I know more about how battle works than any other trainer could." More staring. Nami was pretty sure some of the hostility was fading, but she couldn't quite tell. There was simply more silence until the human-vulpix spoke again. "You need a name." More blinking from the bird. "I suppose 'Sky' would be appropriate. That's what your kingdom will be when I'm through with you, after all." She stood up, began to walk away, and made a gesture to follow. "Come along, Sky." There was a pause with no flapping of wings. "Being outside of your pokeball is a privilege, Sky, and if you try to escape into the trees, I will find you." She raised the pidgey's pokeball for emphasis, and she soon heard the sound of him flapping along behind her. She glanced back once just to ensure it was him behind her, then kept moving. Not exactly your typical bonding session, but it seemed to have some kind of effect. .3 ![]() The little talk or whatever wasn't exactly orthodox, but it sort of got the point across to the bird. Granted... he still wasn't too keen on the situation. (+1 :happiness) Now, for your next two targets. Walking along, humanfoxthing and burd, the forest around them seemed to change... somehow? It was still a thick forest, but somehow it differed from the last. You reached Thick Forest 6! Pokemon in the forest weren't quite sure what to think of you, but one brave little mouse poked his head out of his home to peer at the pair. Sniff sniff... he saw no fire type, what were these shenanigans? But Sky didn't really seem to be paying attention, instead staring off at something in the trees in the opposite direction. 0.2 ![]() Nami sighed in content. The fire of battle began to fade from her blood, and she found herself slipping into serenity once more. She felt quite happy with herself. Though her arm stung painfully to remind her of the price for it, she had found and accquired one of the pokemon she had set out to find, and, though she loathed to admit it, she felt a little less lonely with the sound of Sky's flapping wings trailing behind her. The bird hated her, she knew, but he would be swayed, eventually. For now, she just had to make sure that he understood her dominant position and respected it. That's when she saw it, the little purple mouse staring at her with that usual confused expression. Nami smirked; in her old life, she would have probably offered a little food to the cute little creature. Maybe pat its head and coo over its cuteness while others watch. Now, her stare was cold and calculating, an unnatural stare that almost seemed to look through the rodent into its far future. This one seemed friendly. Friendlier than Sky had been, anyway. Perhaps it could be talked into joining them? She thought of the possibilities. Rattata were fast. Faster than Sky and faster than her. They learned a multitude of dark-type attacks, and were decent physical battlers. But...one of the targets of her search was a true dark type, that was also a good physical fighter. No, it wasn't worth it. This one would be for training. "Sky?" She turned to see her pidgey hovering nearby, staring at the trees. No screaming and slashing, which meant that whatever he was looking at had not triggered his aggression. Or he was actually taking her 'think things through' talk seriously and sizing whatever it was up. Maybe it was something he considered edible. Assuming he had no taste for mammal flesh, that meant there was a one-in-three chance of the target of his attention being the Wurmple she was searching for. Fight the Rattata or search the trees? A rule of Nami: When presented with two options, choose a third one. "Sky, come here." When he continued to ignore her, she growled. "Do you enjoy being on fire, Sky?" That caught his attention, and he moved to follow her gaze and lock his eyes on the Rattata. "Go enjoy yourself, Sky," she said quietly, smiling, "Start things off however you wish." Sky looked at her with a bit surprise, then screeched and swooped at the rat. Nami winced at the sound; an end to doing that would be the topic of their next conversation. Nami leaped up into one of the trees that Sky had been looking so intently at, clutching her injured arm to her chest as she climbed. Not quite the effortless climbing she normally had, but she knew how to climb one-armed, ever since she broke her wrist skiing and nearly gave Gardevoir a heart attack by trying to climb trees with the brace on. The lecture from her father had not been pretty. But that was the past. Now to find what had distracted Sky. Lvl 5 6/10[Investigating the trees] Lvl 4 12/12[Air Slash x 2] vs Lvl 4 8/8

.3 ![]() Nose twitching, curiously watching, the little rat wondered what was going on here, when he saw the bird coming for them. A trainer, right! Should have known better. Which, well, it was lucky for it that it was still half in its den, and only had to duck away and take off running down the tunnel. Which is pretty much exactly what it did, letting the blades of air smash where it had just been and kick up some dust. It may or may not have done anything... but unless they figured out a way to get the thing out or follow it, it didn't really matter. On the other end of everything, we have a fox in a tree. And we thought cats got stuck in trees, geez. But, without the bird's keen eyes, whatever it was that was in the tree was keeping hidden from the human-fox. She could hear it moving around though, sticky feet clinging to the bark, buggy bits moving... perhaps what she was looking for? Now she just needed to get the thing to come out of hiding, or something. |

0.2 ![]() It escaped. It escaped! The first thing to fight today that wasn't a fire-breathing mistake of nature and it escaped down its hole. What happened next looked like some sort of bezerker rage/temper tantrum as Sky landed on the ground and started to tear at the entrance of rattata's den. Half-formed Air Slashes and Twisters ripped at the ground as he smashed things with his wings and tore at the ground with his beak and talons, screaming in his mania. Nami focused her hearing as best she could, and it seemed that she was lucky enough to at least have found a bug of some kind. If it was a wurmple, she was one step closer to getting all she needed from this forest. If not...Well, Sky would probably know of a use for it. Speaking of which... Nami looked down at her thrashing pidgey and sighed. Yes, there would be much more talking when they were safe in Slumber City tonight. The idea of leaving Sky be and simply starting to light things on fire crossed her mind, but she quickly squashed the thought. She had the deepest respect for this forest, and burning these ancient trees was out of the question. "Sky, come here." He paused. Good that he was starting to react faster, but bad that he still hadn't obeyed and come to her. "Now. You know there's a bug in here, so find it." He cocked his head to one side in confusion. His trainer couldn't find the bug? It seemed fairly obvious where it was to him, and there were rattata to find and thrash. Thoughts of fiery pain and the possibility of a buggy meal, however, urged him to obey the order and take off into the branches. Nami looked a bit amusing to him, bandaged arm against her chest, both legs wrapped around the thick branch she was laying on, and moving smaller, bendable branches out of her face with her uninjured arm. After letting the lovely thought of, I can fly and she can't, fill him with pride, he set out to retrieve the bug. Lvl 4 12/12[Getting the buggy] Edited by Vulpix Windchimes, Aug 19 2009, 03:07 PM.

.3 ![]() There was nothing better to find a bug then a bird, really. That thought crossed Sky's mind, making him more proud of himself as he flapped up into the tree, and easily pinpointed the bug before Nami could even really think twice about it. Though, not knowing what the vulpix-girl was planning, the bird just aimed a quick little gust of wind from his wings at his target, and heard the bug squeak and tumble to the ground. It was, in fact, the Wurmple you desired, squirming around on the ground till it was able to right itself. Once righted, the bug looked around for the bird, who was still up in the tree, just barely resisting the urge to go down there and attack. He was kind of learning at any rate. Or he spent all his energy destroying the entrance to the rattata den, whichever. -- ![]() Level 3 *Little Dazed* |

0.2 ![]() Nami pushed herself up, wincing as she put weight on her left arm. She adjusted her position so that she was sitting on the branch with her legs dangling over one side. She pulled off her pack, glad to be rid of the shifting weight that had made her climbing much less dignified, and removed one of her pokeballs, holding in her left hand for the moment. "Come here, Sky." There was a fluttering of wings as the pidgey came down to sit on the branch by her. "Good boy." Sky was very shocked to see her reaching for him, and tensed, just in case she was going to try to grab him. Instead, she simply patted him on the head gently, and Sky just blinked at her, the wurmple temporarily forgotten, at this first sign of tenderness from his strange trainer. Then Nami looked at the insect down below, and weighed her options. Sky looked back down as well, and it seemed to be taking all of what little willpower he had to not shred the bug and devour it. Whether he was resisting because of a desire to control himself, fear of her fiery wrath, or because he was obviously exhausted from his moment of blind rage, Nami didn't really know or care. The fact was, he gave her a chance to talk to and instruct him, and she was going to make use of it. "Sky." Still staring at the bug. Nami pulled back her lip and snarled. "Sky!" The pidgey's head snapped up and he met her gaze. She relaxed. "The next worm is yours to eat, Sky, but I need this one alive." She raised the empty pokeball, and Sky's feathers puffed up when he realized what she meant. Why did she want some weak little bug when she had him? Not that he had wanted to be hers, of course, but it was still an insult to his power for her to want to catch that weak little thing. Nami saw his expression and chuckled, seeming almost to read his mind. "Wurmple have potential outside of raw power." "Now," she said, her expression hardening, "I want you to give it a tackle. No slashing, no twisters, just one tackle. Then clear away so I can capture it." Sky looked disgustly at the insect. He'd much rather be thrashing that rattata right now. All bugs like that were good for was food, in his mind. However, as soon as he saw her start snarling at him again, he screeched and swooped down to do what he was told. It hadn't taken him long to learn that bared teeth often led to fireballs. Nami moved back to a laying-down position on the branch, transfered the pokeball to her good arm, and took aim. Two pokemon down, one to go. Lvl 4 12/12[Tackle] vs Lvl 3 9/9[A little dazed; using on after Tackle] for Sky?

.3 The little burd was shocked by the vulpix-girl's sudden attention towards him, and chirped. Well... huh. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all? (+1 )But, job to do now. The bird swooped down on his wings, plowing into the bug as it started to figure out what was going on. It turned and fired a string of sticky webbing from its mouth, catching on the bird's wings and making a mess. Then, the ball dropped, onto the worm's head, sucking it into its confines. 0.1 ![]() Thump! Sky squacked when Nami's bag landed a couple of feet away form him. He had been watching the pokeball, ready to spring into action and pummel the bug further should it escape. To his disappointment, the device worked, and he'd been too distracted to hear Nami shifting in the branches of the tree. Ditching the bag had been a good idea, as it made her descent a bit more graceful than her ascent had been, and she hopped to the ground next to Sky and scooped up the pokeball. She brushed a bit of dirt from it, minimized it, and clipped it to her belt, silent all the while, but smiling. "Sky, come here," she said, and the bird obediently hopped over. Nami bent down and looked at him. "Do you trust me?" Sky hesistated, concern and slight distrust in his eyes. She wasn't quite the monster he had thought she was, but that didn't exactly translate into trust. Nami sighed. "The easiest way to get that string off is to burn it off." Sky hopped back once, alarmed, and Nami merely sighed again. "Sky, come here." He came forward again, more cautiously, and Nami grabbed some of the sticky string and ripped it off his wing. Sky winced, since one of his smaller feathers had left with it, and Nami's gaze hardened. "It's either this or burning it, so don't complain." She went back to work, and soon there was a small pile of wurmple silk and a couple of pidgey feathers sitting next to them. "There, done." Sky flapped his wings experimentally and chirped. That was much better. Deciding they'd stuck around in this part of the forest long enough (and that finding that rattata would really be a lost cause by now, after it had had all that time to get deep underground), Nami got up and beckoned to her pidgey. "Come along, Sky." When Nami felt talons on her shoulder, she instinctually stiffened and felt in her inner fire blaze, but she quickly calmed down when she realized that Sky had perched on her shoulder and she wasn't being attacked by another insane bird. Nami looked at the little brown bird and raised an eyebrow. "I finish cleaning your wings so that you can fly, and you think you can hitch a ride on my shoulder?" When Sky saw that Nami appeared more amused than angry with his actions, he nodded with a chirp, and heard his trainer laugh for the first time since his violent capture. When he'd seen her snarling face while pinned against that tree, he wouldn't have thought her capable of it. They kept moving, and Nami decided, this time, to share her plans with the bird. "I'm searching for a poochyena," she told him, "They're good land-based fighters. That will be our last capture, at least until we're in the colder part of the island. The thick forest was hard to navigate through, but started to thin out as Nami walked, and the forest suddenly opened up to a clearing. There were a handful of huge stumps scattered around, with an old rusted chainsaw stuck in one of them. No signs of anybody, and it looked like this area had been like this for a while, but that the area would never truly recover from the attempt to chop down the forest. The area had a bit of a... strange feeling to it, which might explain why there were no wild Pokemon within sight. Didn't mean that there weren't any there, hiding, but open space was not a critter's best friend... unless they were a predator. Or could fly. Or both. 0.2 ![]() ((You know, I really don't know what keeps bringing these monster posts on...)) Nami froze on the edge of the clearing, staring out at the stumps, and felt as though a cold wind had blown past her. This place was a hole, a patch of death among so much life. The smells, sounds, and sights of the destruction humans had wrecked on this place had long left, but an overriding feeling of death remained, covering Nami like a smothering blanket. This place was where the true hostility of the forest was; the trees were furious at those that had killed their brethren, and their anger mixed with the lingering dead feeling to make an atmosphere of decay that one could almost taste. Sky was...less than moved. Yeah, stumps. Too bad, so sad for whoever lived in those trees. Glad they're not cutting any more down. Can we go now? Sky chirped impatiently at his immobile trainer. Honestly, he was just starting to get to like this moving around thing and now she stopped. Nami didn't look at Sky. She turned her head away so that he could no longer see her face, and the pidgey thought he saw a tear sliding down toward her chin. Nami was...crying? Sky chirped in surprise. Even if he was getting to accept the concept of having this...vulpixhuman as his superior, her rapid changes in behaviour were beginning to concern him. First, she's a snarling beast, then she's petting his head and laughing, and now she was crying. It was a bit unnerving. Of course, if Nami had been aware of his thoughts, she would have quite bluntly told him that just because he had all the depth of thought and range of emotion of a rock didn't mean everyone did. Instead, she spoke to him without looking at him, her voice carrying the same calm strength it always did despite her apparent tears. "Go find yourself something to eat, Sky. I'm sure fighting has made you hungry." Since he actually was hungry, Sky reluctantly took off from her shoulder and prepared to fly about and see if he could locate a bug to eat. "And, Sky..." He paused and looked back, meeting Nami's eyes. She was crying, even if her voice didn't reflect it. "If you try to escape from me, remember, I will track you down." Sky nodded and flew off to start his search. Nami slowly walked over to one of the huge stumps and sat on it, letting the tears roll freely down her face. She ran her hand over the rings, mentally counting them, looking at the space between them and seeing when the tree grew the most in its life. Damn them. Damn every single one of them. I hope they all paid for what they did... The rusted chainsaw sitting in one of the stumps was the last remant of the ones who destroyed these trees. Rage bubbled up inside of Nami through the tears, and fire surged up her throat. No. She swallowed the flames in her throat, further tears welling up in her eyes from the pain of forcing down her attack. That tool is there as a warning. They failed, and no others should try. I should let it stay and rust. Nami wiped the tears from her face. Look at me. Sobbing over things I can't change. She cast her eyes to the second pokeball on her belt, behind Sky's, the one that held her newest capture. May as well have company in my misery. She's probably just as enraged as Sky was. Wiping her eyes one last time and taking a breath, she released her new wurmple. The wurmple appeared on the stump, and the dawning on her of what had happened was signaled by a terrified squeak and curling up. Well, that wasn't exactly the same reaction as Sky, but perhaps it was for the best that her new addition didn't have such burning anger. Nami decided to adopt a slightly different approach to this one. "Hey, it's okay, the bird's off flying. He can't eat you, anyway, not as long as I have anything to say about it." A face peeked out, slowly, nervous and distrustful. "Wurm?" "Hello there. I'm Nami." She reached out her hand, and the face disappeared. Nami scowled, only because she knew the bug couldn't see her. Nervous little insects. She was much better at being dominant than non-threatening. Putting on her sweet smile again, she continued to speak calmly to the wurmple. "I probably don't smell right to you, right? That's because I'm not really human. Do you know what a vulpix is? I'm kind of like that, only I look human and can't understand your language." When her explanation earned no reaction, Nami leaned over to pluck a blade of grass and gently tickled the wurmple with it. "Come on, you silly. I'm not going to hurt you. You still need a name. You're going to be a winged beauty someday, so why not Belle? Sweet and simple. What do you think?" The wurmple seemed to think the grass would be tasty, because she uncurled and grabbed onto the little blade to start nibbling on it. "Oh, you're hungry? Here you go." Nami let go and patted the bug gently on her head. Well...at least she wasn't hiding anymore, though, honestly, Nami couldn't tell if her little talk had had any effect. Wonder if Sky found anything, Nami thought, looking away. Lvl 4 12/12[Off searching for bugs] for Belle?

.4 1 for BelleSky went off to search the surrounding area for something to eat. He flew around circling for a few minutes before he spotted something. It looked awful tasty from above and he went down to investigate further. He'd found something alright, but it seemed that this little one wouldn't just cower in fear like most of the other insect types. It was a little Paras that was giving off a hissing type sound, and swinging it's little claws in a defensive way. "Par! Paras!" it shrieked. This little bug had made a home in one of the stumps, and was out grazing on the blades of grass that covered the area. Now this bird was going to try to eat it for food?!?! Hah, it'd have to really try if it wanted to succeed in that task. ![]() LV 4 12/12-found a Paras VS ![]() LV 4 8/8-defending itself |

0.3 ![]() Hunger was what had sent Sky drifting closer to the orange insect, but the way it hissed and swung its claws lit a fire inside of Sky. He was being challenged. While he probably would have prefered to have eaten the wurmple now with his trainer, this crunchy, mushroom-covered morsel would be a great pleasure to rip apart. With a piercing shriek, he dove at the Paras, ready to shred it. Nami glanced back at Belle, and saw the wurmple looking at her curiously. She reached out to pet the little bug on the head, and noticed that she didn't jerk away like before. "You're a lot friendlier than Sky was." She ran her hand over her injured arm thoughtfully as she said that, wincing. Hopefully, she'd never have to face another pokemon one-on-one ever again. Just a fireball here and there for assistance while one of her team fought. A screech rung out, and Belle curled up with a squeak. Nami just chuckled. "Looks like Sky found something." She plucked a pokeball from her belt and held it out to Belle. "Want back in?" Belle's tail tapped the button and she vanished back inside, not wanting to be around when the bird came back, or Nami went to him. Nami sighed and looked down at the stump she was sitting on, running her fingers along the rings. The fact that her pidgey had found a meal out here said that, despite the destruction, things continued to live here, defying the humans who had tried to kill the forest. It was a cheerful thought, in a strange way. Well...I better go make sure the bug doesn't make a meal of him, she thought with a smirk, standing up and picking up her pack. She headed in the direction she heard the screech from, but kept her pace casual; she really wasn't that worried, since she was sure he could kill a bug without her help. .3 The Paras waited for a moment once Sky came towards it. This bird was hungry, this was obvious and this little bug wasn't about to be taken down so easily. The Pidgey managed to strike it with one of it's Air Slash moves, but the bug was ready for the second one. He fought to keep itself on it's feet as it stared down the Pidgey. When Sky came down for the second Air Slash, the Paras seized the opportunity striking your bird with it's Slash attack. This was enough to knock the bird down onto the ground for a moment, but the little orange bug was just to slow & weakened to run over and attack it. It then knew that if it kept this up it would more than likely lose this fight, and began to scurry across the forest floor. It was making an attempt to book it back to it's little hole underneath one of the stumps. There it would be safe from further attack. Sky would have to hurry if it wanted to finish this little insect off. ![]() LV 4 7/12VS ![]() LV 4 1/8 |

0.2 ![]() Sky cried out in pain as his prey's claw tore into him, sending him tumbling to the ground. This reminded him painfully of the incident with the tree while fighting Nami. Maybe she really was right about needing to think... It was getting away! Sky took to the air again, screaming in fury. "Sky!" he froze, looking back to see Nami standing behind him, with a cold, calm expression on her face. She had gotten close enough to see his fall, and raced the rest of the way to the battlefield, with well-concealed heavy breathing from the sprint. "Use Twister." A ranged attack that didn't depend on his flying speed...That actually made sense. Sky pounded his wings, determined to get the attack off before his prey escaped. The swirling green tornado tore across the ground to its target, and the rest was out of his hands. Either the paras was faster or his Twister was. Nami felt her inner furnace grow hot, prepared to send a little fiery help if it seemed the Twister wouldn't be enough. .3 Run! Run! RUN! was all that was going through the little insects head as he saw the twister barreling towards him. What to do? There was no way he would be able to counter a move like that! Especially from this distance, and the attack was just too fast for him. Only about a second after Sky had launched the attack, Paras got sucked up into it. Getting hurled around by it, and giving it that final blow to knock it out. After the Twister sub-sided, the body of the Paras flopped down... only about a foot away from it's hide-out underneath a stump. Good work! The attack had got it just in time! Now you had a knocked out, orange little insect lying on the ground, that Sky could do whatever he pleases with. Eat it, Leave it, or just Flat out murder the thing with no intention for food. 1.0 for Sky!

0.2 ![]() Nami allowed her beginning attack to fade slowly, not wanting to swallow the flames quickly like she had before. Sky had handled himself pretty well, but she had known from the look on his face that he wouldn't have thought to use Twister on his own. He still didn't think. She turned her head away as Sky descended on the body hungriliy. She never knew what kind of effect that sort of carnage would have on her, whether it would arouse a primal hunger for meat or simply make her want to throw up. Having no food with her to speak of, and not wanting to look weak in front of her rowdy pidgey, she didn't want to risk either reaction and so merely looked away until Sky was finished with the corpse and cleaned himself thoroughly. "You're flying the rest of the way," she said as she began to walk again; despite not looking, it seemed the nausea reaction was winning out. Sky cocked his head to one side in confusion, then took off to follow her. He'd given up trying to figure her out by this point. Right now, she just wanted to get away from these stumps and their choking feeling of death and continue her hunt for a poochyena. .3 As you continued navigating through the large amounts of stumps that were scattered around the ground, something started to show in the distance. As you got closer, it became more obvious that the stumps had come to an end. They gave way, and lead right to the edge of a thick forest. A Canopy of trees was above your head, and there wasn't really a path to walk along. You literally had to weave in and out of the trees to keep heading forward. Suddenly something began to snarl around your feet. You had nearly stepped on a pair of Rattata and they didn't really look too happy about it. They began snapping their teeth and glaring at you with those red eyes of theirs. It was doubtful that there'd be any reasoning with them, since they were just soooo angry. Would you just keep on going, or smite them to become stronger! ![]() LV 2 4/4-snarling at you ![]() LV 2 4/4-snarling at you |

0.2 ![]() Into the forest again, leaving the dead trees and the remains of her pidgey's feast behind. Nami inhaled slowly, taking in the scents of the forest, feeling her muscles relax. Some would have considered allowing Sky to devour the bug an act of cruelty, treating the death as some akin to murder. Such hipocrisy from the human race left a disgustingly dry feeling in her mouth; the paras was killed to feed her pidgey as nature intended, not out of some kind of sadistic desire for death. It was as things were meant to be. The snarling did not alarm Nami, and she merely looked down at the pair of pokemon by her feet with a single raised eyebrow. They were pathetically weak creatures, and stupid enough to show aggression toward something that was like nothing they had ever encountered and strong enough to burn them alive. Part of Nami was inclined to be merciful, at least to one of them, as the idea of capturing one of these rodents came to her. It seemed that a force were drawing the beasts to her, first with curiousity, then anger. Fate seemed to want her to have a rattata. Maybe, if they lasted long enough, she'd consider humouring fate. Sky waited for no signal; the moment he caught up, rage filled every ounce of his body and he tore toward the male of the pair, screaming. He would not allow another rat to escape him. Nami's eyes flashed red as hot embers flew from her jaws at the female. Goodbye, fools. Lvl 4 7/12[Air Slash x 2 at male] Lvl 5 6/10[Ember x 2 at female] vs Lvl 2 4/4 Lvl 2 4/4

.3 Squeals of pain screeched from the rattata's. They weren't exactly the strongets NOR the smartest of all the creatures that lived anywhere. It had been a pretty foolish choice for them to go up against a foe such as yourself and your Pidgey. Both of them dropped to the ground knocked out shortly after the attacks were made. Jesus these things were pretty annoying weren't they? I mean they never really put up a challenge. Now with those two pests gone, you would be able to continue on your journey, and hopefully find that snarling mutt you were looking for somewhere in the near future. .5 for sky& .4 for you since you managed to knock one out with your Vulpixy Powers!
