"Alright. So. Fog again. Mad cool," It was back through the fog for Steely yet again, but this time... she had a purpose. Training Agro and her team in general. She figured that it was about time to make a run at the electric gym in the south... best way to train, right? She didn't have any of her Pokemon out right now, instead walking through the soggy dirt on her own, keeping an eye out for any Pokemon to beat up... or something. Or, you know, something interesting. She wasn't too picky at this point. -- Current Landmark: Soggy Dirt Heading For: Sinklands Next Landmarks: Mist Valley, Malral, Vicious Vines 2 GenExp Cup: 6.5 Mod!Gexp: 0.0 |

.1 There wasn't much special about this area. Foggy, soggy, very very boggy. Squish, squish, every step brought forth a knew sodden sound. The fog was thick and veiling, leaving you feeling rather exposed, for anything nearby would hear your approach. But even with through the blinding brume, a figure ahead was clear. It was explicitly male. He wore a dark black suit, and a blinding white tie, bound with a ruby-encrusted, golden tie-tack. His hair was shoulder-length and blood red, his incisors maybe just a little too big. His face was decidedly bland, if not sporting a sinister, scheming simper. It transformed slowly as you approached, an insincere smirk as you drew close. "Bye-bye," he said jovially. The turned to mush beneath your feet, and you felt yourself sinking fast. "Hehehe!" Said the man. Encountered Loki |

.2 ![]() Steely frowned down at her feet as they squished in the muck and stuff, annoyed by the noise. Maybe it was because she'd been through here so many times, and was just sick of all the wetness. No fun at all. While mumbling to herself about annoying marshes, she noticed something ahead of her in the fog. It was curious, but she was almost weary of it, mostly because of the thought that it was another human being. That was going to be trouble. Oh and how right she was. She was all set to ignore him and just keep going when she heard him say something, looking up to see his smirk. "Wha-" her foot stepped down and she started sinking. She yelped and tried to jerk backwards to get away from the sinking ground. "Great," She didn't even bother looking at the man; he didn't seem like the helpful kind in the first place. Instead she relied on the ones she knew she could. Her Pokemon. Tossing a red and white ball up into the air, it split open mid toss, a bright light spilling out a bit away from where she was, where the lumbering turtle Pokemon Blastoise appeared. He blinked his bright eyes once, looking around. "...this place again?" "Chaos, little help here!" she flailed her arms from where she was sinking steadily. "Oh. Right." he trundled over, reaching to grab his nitwit human and yank her out of the person eating ground. -- Current Landmark: Soggy Dirt Heading For: Sinklands Next Landmarks: Mist Valley, Malral, Vicious Vines 2 GenExp Cup: 6.5 Mod!Gexp: 0.0 |

.2 "Tch tch tch, now that's no fun!" Said the man as he observed you from above. "Come on, play along! Try and get out yourself!" He looked at your Blastoise, who was overcome with the sudden urge to tap dance. The lumbering tortoise's legs carried him unwillingly away, tap tap tapping all the way. "Here's a rope!" He said, handing you one that stretched high into the sky. |

.1 ![]() "...well that's nice," She made a mental note to blast this guy into kibble bits when she got out of here, if she even remembered that at that point, watching her turtle tapdance away. While she didn't trust this guy as far as she could throw him (that was a good idea... throwing him into the marsh), she grabbed the rope and gave it a good yank. See, either she would pull herself out with it, or it would fall on her head or something. -- Current Landmark: Soggy Dirt Heading For: Sinklands Next Landmarks: Mist Valley, Malral, Vicious Vines 2 GenExp Cup: 6.7 Mod!Gexp: 0.0 Edited by Steel Cerberus, Nov 4 2008, 11:44 AM.

.1 You grabbed the rope and gave it a testing tug. It seemed strong, so you pulled hard, and rose slowly out of the muck. You climbed hand-over-hand up, and soon you hung over the ground. The man snapped his figures and the ground gave a lurch, solidifying. "Enough games for now!" He said, as though you were playing Monopoly and not sinking into the ground. Blastoise also returned to your side. "It's good to see you again! How're your travels through this land?" He spoke as if he knew you. Did you know him? |

.1 ![]() Steely sighed when the rope didn't trick her, and pulled herself out of the muck. Now the problem was... was she just going to sit up on the rope all day? She cautiously stared down at the ground as it wiggled and became solid again. What the fuck. "What the fuck," I just sa- oh nevermind. "How in the hell did you do that?" she asked, still hanging from the rope since she didn't trust this guy. Chaos trundled over, staring at her and her being all soaked with mud. She turned her head to look at him, and the grin her big water turtle had. "Oh please do-" He aimed a hydro cannon and drenched her anyways. :x At least she wasn't muddy anymore. Just hanging from the rope and looking dead. Chaos plucked her off, and that seemed to make her regain her senses. She shook her head like a dog clearing its ears of water, and stared at the guy. "Uh. They're... alright. Always eventful, but I'm not dead yet, right?" She stared at him for a moment or two more. Er. She didn't want to be rude, but... .2 "Oh yeah, you know me..." Said the figure. I say figure because this wasn't a man anymore, it was a rapidly changing blob. For some reason, this didn't seem strange to you. When it stopped, before you stood a man. He was about 6 feet tall,African American, hair braided into cornrows. He was wearing a dark blue hoodie and blue jeans with generic sneakers. Underneath his hoodie was a white long-sleeved shirt that, loose at the collar. "You know me, Steely! I'm... uh..." He looked quickly at his hand. "Alex! I'm Alex, um, Cruz. "Good to see yah!" |

.4 because I literally went "WTF". Chaos stared with his jaw hanging open, even while Steely didn't... look too concerned about the wtf shapeshifting person. She did have an eyebrow quirked at him, though. "No yer not," she said finally, crossing her arms, "Because Alex disappeared a little while ago. And if you really were Alex, I'd want to kick your ass right now," She paused and let that sink in to this guy's brain. Off to her side, Chaos picked up his jaw and slotted it back into his head, growling at this strange fellow. "Besides, you were a vampire thing all of ten seconds ago, man," she pointed out. .2 The pseudo-Alex grimaced slightly. It sighed, and morphed quickly into a ball and reformed as what you thought was yourself for just a moment. But no, this person was a little shorter, little fatter, and much older than you. Good god. It was your mother. "Steely, don't you dare speak to me like that!" She said. .4 ![]() Now the both of them had their jaws on the ground in complete and pure WTFery, when it morphed again into Steely's mom. That took her a lot by surprise, enough so that she could ignore Chaos's chuckling next to her. "I... you just... what the fuck. Is this fog made of hallucinogens or something? Weird shit happens to me every time I come through here," Last time it was the cloud dream... thing. :x She still wasn't sure what the hell all that had been about. This new development had thrown her completely for a loop, so she could only stare mindlessly for a second. Finally, she reached over and tugged on Chaos's arm. "Chaos, do something," "...the fuck you want me to do?" "I dunno," she looked back at the shapeshifter thing, "Alright man, seriously. What, or who, are you?" |

.2 Your mother sighed, looking downcast and disappointed. "Alright, m'lady, if you insist." There was a second of blob, then the man's original form stood before you. "I am Loki, or at least that's what you humans call me. You looked like a fun lass when you strolled this way, thought you might be up for a little fun. Fine then, if you insist on realism, how about a bet? We battle. You win, you can hop right wherever you want. You lose, well, you won't like it." He smiled. "Think you're up for it?" .2 ![]() Steely sighed when he morphed back to 'normal' if there was even such a thing anymore. She was seriously starting to think there wasn't. Not anymore anyways. "Man, that's a neat thing you do and I like fun, but it's something a bit startling to get surprised with," she admitted. So, Loki huh? Well, let's see where this was going to go. She was tempted to ask him all kinds of things about his shapeshifting, but figured that could wait. "Uh, I'll battle, sure," she said without too much thought. She didn't like a good chunk of the things that happened to her, but she lived. What doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger and all that sort. Chaos snorted down at Loki, and started forward, but Steely put up a hand, grabbing his arm and patting it. "No, wait. Let's see what he does first," she whispered, and the turtle stood down, crossing his arms with a huff. |

.2 Loki surveyed you for a moment as he fingered two black-and-red Pokeballs. "Hm... That's a mighty strong Pokemon you've got there. You seem like a good trainer, I'd assume all of yours are in that manner. How about we battle two-on-one? The one's I've got with me are significantly weaker." He tossed the dark balls to the ground, where two Gastly appeared. They floated slowly up, their ghoulish mist mingling with the fog. They laughed a deep laugh, one colder than ice. "This is Hugin and Munin. They're a bunch of jokesters, really, not one's for battling. But they'll take on anyone you've got!" The man spoke the truth; already, they seemed to be fighting with each other. After each blow, the struck would laugh and battle back. "Settle down! Now, how about it, m'lady?" The god seemed rather straightforward and courteous, now. It was a happy change, if not quite odd. ![]() Lv. 15 30/30 ![]() Lv. 15 30/30 |

.3 ![]() Steely was sort of happy that she hadn't let Chaos just charge in, for Loki explained his terms, and sent out his Pokemon a few seconds later. The two didn't look very strong, and for a moment, Steely thought that it was somewhat unfair to fight him. But he seemed perfectly alright with it, so who was she to complain. "Yeah, all of my Pokemon with me right now are of the same strength... so I agree to a two on one," she smiled at him, then at the Gastly. What a funny pair of Pokemon. "Alright, you're on man," she reached to her belt, drawing from it a pink and white Pokeball. A Heal Ball, though it had long lost it's special properties, it did sort of give a false impression about the Pokemon inside. "Alright Agro, you're on," The ball hit the ground once and popped open, spilling the red light into the fog and onto the ground, where it formed into the steel creature, Lairon. Agro parted his jaws and screeched the awful ear splitting noise that their species made, stamping the ground with a foot. At first glance it may not have seemed like a good choice... but Agro did have other tricks that didn't involve smashing things with his heavy body. "I know this is kinda weird, Agro, but trust me on this one. Pick one to Iron Head, then wait for them to attack... throw it back at them when they do," she said after a second of thinking. .3 Loki was buzzing. Literally, vibrating where he was standing. He had the biggest smile, as though he could hardly contain some delightful secret. His shaking made a strange sort of clicking. Gods, whatever. He giggled. "Well boys," he said, rather arrogantly, "show them!" The two spirits stopped joking around. One swirled around, its gases glowing and flashing in a strangely enticing manner. You felt your eyes droop, and then realized what was happening. You shook your head and looked away, but Agro didn't think so fast. His head lolled around and his legs gave out. He fell into a deep sleep. The other Gastly floated around his immobile body, looking for something. He smiled and dove in, disappearing inside your Pokemon. He flew out moments later, laughing loudly. Agro seemed disturbed, his legs jerking randomly and his back arching occasionally. "Haha!" Laughed Loki. His Pokemon were just as tricky as he, and their inexperience had drawn you in... this wouldn't be so easy. ![]() Lv. 37 74/74 -Sleep, having a Nightmare- vs. Two

.3 "Aah shit," As if we didn't, you know, expect this. "Shut up, I was being optimistic," Weren't we both. Steely frowned at them, not from the situation, but just... well, yeah, it was from the situation. She really should have expected this. But either way, no sense in angsting about it now, she had to get Agro awake. "Hey Agro, c'mon! Get up!" She yelled at the big steel titan till he heard her and woke up. (0.2) Shouting didn't seem to help much. The Lairon was off in snoozeland, and someone's voice wasn't exactly going to bring him back. Actually, being in simple snoozeland probably would have been better for him. But he wasn't. He was in nightmare-so-scary-you'll-pee-yourself-to-death land. It was hard to tell exactly what Agro was seeing in his dream, but whatever it was, it was bad enough to make him suddenly spasm at irregular intervals, giving out a cry every now and then, and altogether it was just quite disturbing to watch. For the trainer, at least. For Loki, it was just plain amusing. The man giggled, working himself up into a frenzy so intense that he hacked up a ball of fluff after about two minutes. "Ahah! That one. He's gonna be rememberin' this battle for yonks to come." He didn't bother directing his Pokemon further. They could take care of themselves. Hugin laughed in a ghostly fashion, laughing as a rather large stake materialised in front of him, and laughing still, even as the stake was plunged into his face. Some sort of supernatural ooze gushed out, and splashed onto Agro, almost like Slimebuster goo. The defaced Gastly looked at the girl, before popping the stake out and making himself a new face. As for Munin, well, he just gave Agro The Eye. "Ready to give up yet Steely? These boys don't go down that easily." --- - "Agro"Level 37 56/74 -Sleeping, in a Nightmare- -Cursed- -Mean Look'd- vs - "Hugin"Level 15 15/30 - "Munin"Level 15 30/30 Edited by llliterateGuy, Nov 10 2008, 11:28 PM.

.2 ![]() This was going nowhere fast. But Steely wasn't the type to give up! Oh no, never. She knew that Agro could smash the two, if only he was awake to do so. It all boiled down to the fact that he needed to wake up. "No, I'm not. I know Agro can do this," she said stubbornly at him, staring at the metal titan's backside. Taking a breath, she cautiously took a few steps closer to him, close enough to where she wouldn't get hit by his thrashing if it got worse. "C'mon Agro," she said, in a normal tone of voice. What she was hoping was that she could break through his nightmare at least, and hopefully wake him that way. Or something. Yelling hadn't helped at all, so no harm in trying something else. (0.2) - For some inexplicable reason, Steely's calm voice managed to wake the slumbering brute up whereas her high-pitched squeals hadn't. Lairon ears apparently functioned in a very different way to most other creatures. It wasn't a sudden, jerky awakening, but a rather slow, mullified get-up-and-yawn type. Agro turned first from one Gastly to the other, then to Steely, and gave a ginormous yawn. The extent to which his mouth opened would have put a Hippowdon to shame. Hugin and Munin giggled, and cackled, then proceeded to chuckle just for good measure. Two pairs of eyes gleamed, and beams of dark energy shot out from them, hitting the still drowsy Lairon squarely and taking away some damage. That seemed to do the trick. Suddenly, the Pokemon seemed to live up to his name and with a loud roar, he suddenly launched forward and slammed that metallic head into Munin's face, knocking it for a loop. A big loop that caused the ghost to fall to the ground like a dead weight. Possibly even without the 'weight' part. Hugin looked troubled, and decided to buy some more time, he vanished and reappeared in front of Agro, throwing the steel type into convulsions. This coincided with the pain of Hugin's curse, but the fact that Agro couldn't tell his left from right probably made it worse. Loki was starting to look a bit concerned now. That dumb beast wasn't staying asleep for as long as he should be. But, it wasn't all bad news, he fingered a third Pokeball in his pocket, that which belonged to Angrboda. If Hugin looked like he was going to have trouble finishing off that metal head, Angrboda would be more than enough to take it down. He giggled suddenly, as if he had just thought of something incredibly funny, well, which he had. And it had something to do with what he would do to Steely after she lost. --- "Agro" Lv 3737/74 (Gains 0.4 exp) -Cursed- -Confused- VS "Hugin" Lv 1515/30 |

.3 and Agro shoulda actually gotten .6, since it's a trainer battle. .4 * 1.5 = .6Chuckling in relief, Steely nearly started laughing when Agro finally woke up, groggy as he was. At least he was awake now. Standing back up, she stared at the two ghosts. "Now go get 'em, Agro!" It was then that Agro bellowed out and rushed at the ghosts, smashing his head into one of the ghosts, which dropped from the impact. Steely sighed slight when it dropped, cheering up slightly. It was tricky, sure, but possible. She did still have some potions in her bag if things got bad... even with the steel type apparently confused like he was, she didn't think there was a need for any healing quite yet... .3 (I don't see anything anywhere about multiplying XP for trainer battles. o.o Where is that? The only thing I can find involves co-op threads. Also, apologies for the lousy post...I'm trying to get as many opf these done as I can and don't have a lot of time. -.-) Aggro bellowed and flailed about madly, confused by the mist, the ghost, the pain from the curse, as Hugnin giggled and added to the ossue, glowing rightly and sending a pulse of shadowy energy at the Lairon in a Night Shade, as the metal titan writhed, hurting hismelf further as the curse played with his mind as well. Still, he was a tough beastie, and when all else fails, sometimes it was best to charge forward blindly and hope you hit something. Which is whatAgro did, still bellowiung madly. Hugnin was right there, too, which was lucky for him. Unlucky for the badly damaged steel type, so was the ghost's tongue. However, on his side, was momentum. A tongue alone does not stop a few tons of steel and rock, and so Aggro plowed into Hugnin even as he was knocked out by a thwap of that tongue, taking the ghost out in the process. The man eyed the situation for several long moments, as likely you were doing the same. "Hmmm. A draw, it seems. How...unusual." He recalled the ghost. "Oh well." *POP* Where'd he go? That...was odd...but then, there'd been no stipluation for a draw, so apparently that meant neither applied? (Edit: Oh, and since they both won and lost at the same time, they both get XP. Aggro the same as before, Hugnin gets 2.5 and levels with 1 left over) Edited by DarthEevee, Nov 25 2008, 11:34 AM.

.3 and it took me a while to find, but it's Here, a little above the middle, after the turn based attacking is explained. "Experience from trainer battles is to be multiplied by 1.5."Steely's stunned, baffled silence was cut off when Loki suddenly disappeared, and nothing happened. Well... it was a tie. There was no stipulation for a tie, was there? Hm. "Man. Well, at least I didn't lose," Sighing a little, she recalled Agro, and turned to head back to Brightopolis. It was still... right there and everything. *Left'd back for Brightopolis* |
