Soft cooing floated through the glass window, music to the young girl's ears. A few Pidgey were atop the house's roof, quietly calling out to another group of birds on the neighbour's roof. The young girl was half-asleep, a soft smile on her lips, when a loud SLAM! made her jerk back to reality. "I told you, I told you, close the windows, draw the curtains, no noise, no noise, wake up!" muttered the old house keeper, drawing the curtains on a lovely day. Tex turned away sulkily, resting on a heavy wooden table. She didn't know why it was so important to do this, do that, hop to it. Crazy old woman. "Look at this!" squawked something incredibly annoying, and even the Pidgeys flew away in disgust. Tex just walked away, through the door and out of the house. Shouts and abuse followed her, making the foot steps become more frequent. After speed-walking from the house for a few kilometers, Tex slowed down and ran her fingers through her long black hair. A deep breath and a drink of water from her drink bottle later, Tex stood up straight, surveying the fantastic view before her. It was a beautiful valley, with a forest to one side, and sunlight streamed down through the branches to make an undecipherable jigsaw on the ground. The young girl sighed. This beautiful valley was on the other side of the island. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It was night. The moon was a yellowy red, from dust in the atmosphere. That was odd, usually cities didn't make pollution around here. The moon was darkened by the red dust, which let the stars show more clearly than usual. Bright constellations stared at her as Tex snuck from her bedroom, into the kitchen. The floor was deep red, a valuable sort of wood. Tex had no idea what it was exactly, she didn't know much about trees and stuff. A backpack was already on the bench, which Tex quickly stuffed full of water bottles, bread and a few spare outfits. Before leaving, she also stole just enough money from the house keeper's purse to gain passage to a region that was supposed to be unexplored. Perfect. Tex opened the door warily, and peeked outside. It was truly night. A Noctowl was staring at her, and two Hoot-hoots stood beside it. She knew these birds, and stroked each one on their heads before stepping carefully over the guard-Growlithe and scurrying quickly to a waiting bus. The Noctowl and her children tilted their heads to the side before flying to another tree, waiting for an unwary caterpie or weedle to leave their homes. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ No-one else was on the bus. It was completely quiet. Even the driver hadn't talked at all, which Tex thought was kind of strange. Everyone on her island was friendly, and liked to chat. The bus also seemed to be going the wrong way. She had tried tapping on the driver's shoulder, but he didn't even notice. So now Tex was sitting nervously in the back seat, clutching her bag. It seemed completely natural to fall asleep, even without the gas hissing from under the seats. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Her eyes opened a crack, and the darkness surprised her. Shouldn't it be daylight? The bus had gone. She was in a building... She was staring at a giant R. It was red. The rest of the roof was black. Tex blinked at this, and immediately knew what had happened. Team Rocket. The bastards were up to their old tricks again. What was that plan they had once? To force people to join Team Rocket? Tex snorted. They obviously thought she would make a good candidate. She sat up, rubbing her head wearily. It was some sort of storage room. Boxes were strewn everywhere, full of god knows what. No-one was in there. There was a camera, but one of the smaller boxes on the ground dealt with it. Tex glanced at the walls, trying to find a way out. Nothing... nothing... huh? one of the walls are wooden! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sirens began to blare. Tex was out of the storage building, holding a large steel box that had easily smashed the wooden wall. She quickly dropped it, and ran like hell until the base was far behind her, hidden behind a forest that was keeping the authorities from its real position. Her head hurt. At least the back pack was still there, though everything had been emptied out. One last thought echoed through her mind before she collapsed. 'I like Traffic Lights.' (She was pretty out of it...) A herd of rapidash and ponyta were galloping past, over the large meadow, full of tasty grass! One Ponyta, smaller than the rest, trotted over to check out the sleeping human. It looked injured. The Ponyta whinnied for its mum, who cantered to see what her baby had found. When Tex groaned and rolled over in her sleep, the two horses jerked back, only to approach again when she had again fallen still. The Rapidash snorted at this behavior, and lay down next to the human. Their fire did not burn her. The Ponyta helped to push Tex onto her mum's back, and together they set off toward a human town that was close by. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The first thing she saw was a Chansey. It had a little nurse's hat, and Nurse Joy was standing next to it. Tex groaned again, and Joy shook her head. "What on EARTH have you been doing, miss Sky?" Joy asked wearily. This had not been the first time someone had brought her to the center. Tex rubbed her head again. It hurt even more. "I, um... I was sorta abducted by Team Rocket..." the young girl stammered nervously. The last thing she needed was someone accusing her of being in Team Rocket herself! The nurses looked doubtful, but allowed Tex to leave after a night spent resting. This wanna-be trainer was VERY happy to leave, and boarded the next boat to the new region everyone was talking about. On board the boat, Tex found something in her bag. It turns out she had taken someone else's bag, which had an escape rope, a pouch full of money and a poketch. Tex immediately reprogrammed the poketch to her own identity, and fell asleep again shortly after the boat had left the dock. |

iiiinteresting. I want to say her ship pulls up by the Sunstream River where she would find Little Hillmoss Town and its lab up north, but maybe you have different ideas and by all means you can pursue them. 4600z , a poketch and escape rope with 3 charges you get, but you already knew that. |
