It's time my Pokes are happy/ier. And this is how I think Genexp works, in a realistic sort of way. ---- The towering and ancient trees of the Primeval Forest swayed gently in a breeze above Tim's head as he walked beneath them. Were these the winds of change? Surely not, but they did help signal what was going to be a big change in his team's makeup. It was both his Pineco's and his Slakoth's time. Slakoth, in fact, would evolve again in a short period of time. It was vital that he made his peace with the two before their evolution. He wanted to go with Pineco first. He had spoken with the Pokemon on another occasion, and had made some progress, while he had never even laid eyes on the Slakoth while it was awake. Plus, Pineco's evolution would help with its fear of death, which kept it in nearly-constant terror that it would be struck down by some unforeseen obstacle. With an oft over-described flash of light, Pineco emerged again from his Pokeball. There was a moment of silence between trainer and Pokemon, before Tim spoke. "Do you feel it?" The pine cone Pokemon looked a little confused. There was little different than the last time it had been brought from its rotund prison; there were trees, branches, grass, and normal forest-things. He himself felt strangely stronger, though. It was a little perplexing. Tim had tried to let him battle once, and yet, he had refused. Why was he stronger? "I feel... something..." He replied curtly. "You feel empowered," Tim said. "Studies have shown that by even just traveling with a trainer, whether Pokemon want to be there or not, they grow stronger. It might be something with the Pokeballs, they dunno, but they get stronger. In your case, you've gotten strong enough to evolve." "E... Evolve?" Pineco asked. He'd heard of it before, for it was entrained in every Pokemon in the world: Evolution was when a Pokemon grew strong enough to take on a totally different, more powerful form. He'd also heard that the best way to do so was to travel with a trainer, although most Pokemon were taught to avoid humans at all costs. "Yes, evolve. Into a Forretress, a pure powerhouse. Enveloped in steel, and everything. Tough to take down. It may help with your little..." He said, searching for the right word. "... your little... anxiety." Pineco was silent. It made sense: steel was certainly harder than wood and things like that that a Pineco was made out of. "And who knows," Tim added, "you might even lose that fear. Evolution can bring about some powerful changes, you might became some crazed warmonger." The humor was a little twisted, but Pineco picked it up. "Now, we've got another Pokemon to meet. A Slakoth. Never talked to him before, so let's explore him together." Another flash, another Pokemon. This one was a sleeping monkey, who snoozed calmly on the floor. "What the... Wake up!" Tim shouted. The monkey was jolted awake, if you can call slowly raising your head, and opening your eyes even slower being jolted awake. "How tired can you be? You were asleep when I caught you, and you still are?" Tim asked. Pineco laughed, but Slakoth seemed a little bewildered. "Well, whatever. Look, I caught you. you're probably not very happy about that, but Pineco wasn't much either for awhile. Now, I don't know if you can tell, being all sleepy, but you're about to evolve. You should have a long time ago, in fact. We don't have much time, so let's get some things straight before you evolve. I'm Tim. I'm a Pokemon Trainer. I kinda blindsided you when you were sleeping. I have a bunch of Pokemon, all very happy. Now when you evol-" And at that moment, Pineco took a spectacular multicolored light. "This is it!" Tim shouted quite unnecessarily to Slakoth. He was excited, and anxious, though. What would happen when it ended? Would it be happy? Had he got through to it? The light faded, and there sat a large Forretress, sleek and powerful. "Wow," Tim said. ---- I'll continue the conversational things when I find out what's going down with Forretress. |

Uhm... Forretress only gains 1 :happiness. Your words didn't get through to it, but evolving made it happy... a little bit. Slakoth gains 2 :anger. It's not too happy about you admitting that you blindsided it. It's pretty pissed, actually. |

Forretress stood tall, figuratively. He was no where near the tallest Pokemon in the world, but now, he might as well have been. He was purple and red, sleek and strong. He was powerful. He was... a Forretress. One of Pokemon kinds most primal desires was to evolve. It was a natural side affect from growing stronger. Once you accomplished it, it was a pride you had never felt before. He took a few rolls around, testing his strength. He could roll about with ease, much faster than earlier. Unlike before, he felt no pain at rolling over rocks or sharp sticks, or and other sorts of painful things. For one so afraid of death, it was heaven. "You like?" Tim asked. Forretress gave his equivalent of a nod, and continued his rolling. Tim turned to his Slakoth, who wore the same, bored expression as before. But with a slight distaste apparent. He certainly didn't look happier, despite witnessing what Tim had assumed was his first sight of evolution. "Alrighty Slakoth. You're up next. But before you go, I'm going to warn you about what's coming up. As a Vigoroth, you will have endless energy. You're not the most active fellow, that's obvious, but you're about to become one. Now, I'm gonna make you a deal." He paused, and just looked at the monkey, who seemed a little unresponsive, but was paying attention. "I'll get you through your Vigoroth stage as fast as possible. You'll get to be a Slaking, where you can laze around all you want. But for me, you have to cooperate. Listen to me. Let me train you. It will go much faster, and you may find out that you like being part of a team, that you like being powerful and winning badges and taking on the Elite Four. "So, how about it?" === It didn't make sense to start walking now, and I didn't want to RP as the Slakoth being happier or whatever, so after happy time, I'm returning to Deepwood since I'm a few steps from it. But I guess I'd be open to a Pokemon thing. |

0.3 Trees started crashing down before Tim could go anywhere, but at least he had gotten up at that point which meant he narrowly avoided being crushed by a felled mighty red wood. There was a line of uprooted trees, like rows of fallen dominoes, that marked the path of something big and heavy that had crashed through the forest on its way to Deepwood Town. It stood tall, about two storeys tall if Tim had to take a guess. It was metalic orange, and in its mighty claw it crushed another tree in half. It had extra legs. There was a star on its head, but Tim saw that it seemed to be made out of something like yellow glass, in fact it was a window. There was a silouette up there; someone who piloted this giant, mechanical crawdaunt. A megaphoned voice boomed down at the trainer, shaking leaves from their boughs. "You down there," it said, rather casually, but echoing something ridiculous. "You must be one of those ... well you aint wearing a Fedora but I have it on good authority that you associate with those guys. Makes you a target. And your pokemon too. So hand that nice foretress over and... you know what? I'm gonna stop talking and just squish your little head in. Yeah." Then the giant claw, that was about as long as Tim was tall, swung down to pluck him off the ground. Level 37111/111 ![]() MECHRAWDAUNT |

.2 Tim and his unhappy companions had only just begun their travel back to Deepwood when a towering tree fell before them. He narrowly avoided them, and then caught sight of his attacker; a huge, mechanical Crawdaunt. Of course, he knew that these were Rocket machines. Everyone had heard the reports; now, they had moved on to robotics. He'd heard stories of crushed houses and ruined lives, the sorts of things that the new Team Rocket seemed to specialize in. The man in control of the machine was shouting. It seemed he knew that Tim was a member of DC. How he knew, Tim didn't care. He just wanted the man crushed, preferably beneath his own machine. Tim tossed a Pokeball to join his two others. Out came Cynder, who, being much taller than either Forretress or Slakoth, was a little imposing to the two. Just as Tim had hoped. "See her you two? Been with me for as long as I can remember. If you want to be as strong as her, you know what you have to do. Come with me. Now, she's out here because as of now, I don't trust you two. The last time I tried to battle with you-" Tim glared at Forretress, "-you were content to sit there at let me get zapped with electricity. Now, you two can fight if you know what will be most beneficial for you, or you can watch Cynder." Tim said. "Cynder, give it an Eruption. Directly underneath. Forretress, Rapid Spin. Aim for the head. Slako-" Tim began. He was interrupted, for the small monkey burst into an array of lights. Damn it anyway, he had wanted a little more time to talk with it. No matter, he now had an incredibly hyperactive monkey on his hands. Indeed, the beast was even now hopping actively up and down. Maybe he would obey just out of having something to do? "Alright, Vigoroth then. Congrats, and a Slash! Careful, that's metal there! Go for the back, see if you can find anything that looks important." Tim said. === ![]() Lv. 45 90/90 ![]() Lv. 31 62/62 ![]() Lv. 34 68/68 vs. MECHLv. 37 111/111 |

0.3 The large, towering burning mongoose-like creature roared a nasty roar, a show of intimidation to its metallic foe as bursts of flame exploded from its backside. With the renown speed its animal counterpart was famed for, it dashed in a crooked pattern, deterring the machine's attempt to trail it as it bounded to position as ordered- directly at its underside. Fortunately, Crawdaunt as a species weren't renown for their speed, and it came to be understood that the massive machination modeled after it would lack the agility as well, perhaps on a more hindering scale. But it did have the preemptive of making the first move, the massive claw-like structure already descending to seize hold of the human, in a rather acceptable pace; slow enough to avoid. But since you didn't make any move whatsoever to do so... "Gotcha!" The megaphone's voice boomed, ensnaring the boy within the suffocating, cramped space. Sorta like the same way humans stuff Pokemon in Pokeballs on a regular basis. Not very pleasant, was it? But within the darkness, you had the satisfaction of hearing the man's cries of surprise as your Pokemon dealt their damage, the robot swinging unsteadily as an explosion from its underside forced it off its segmented, mechanical legs. At least you could rely on Cynder to do her job. The others were...not quite as reliable. The Forretress couldn't be arsed to make such a risk on its welfare for your sake. I mean...did you see the effing size of that thing? And seeing you snug within its grasp lessened it feeling compelled to obey you. At least...that was before the man, seeing the Pokemon out alone and available, made an attempt to catch it, pulling various levers and buttons and initiating a Crabhammer which pretty much hurt the steel-coated bug type, though not by much thanks to its near-impervious exoskeleton. Also, the claw it used was the one with you in it, and jarred at your much frailer, human body a lot more than it did the Pokemon. And with the previous command still echoing in its consciousness, decided that the best move it could make was indeed a Rapid Spin, and slammed its bulk against the flashing star upon the mecha's head. It teetered and wobbled, but it held its ground. The newly evolved Vigoroth, on the other hand, eager to try out the capabilities of its new form, eagerly went at the robot with a Slash, though finding the attempt futile as its lengthy claws simply rebounded off the reflective chrome, hardly a scratch marred where it hit. .4 In a quite unexpected turn of events, Tim was swallowed up by the massive Crawdaunt's claws. It wasn't very spacious inside the contraptions, and Tim felt the sudden effects of claustrophobia. But he fought threw it, empowered by the sounds of his Pokemon's battles. He felt the heat of Cynder's Eruption, he heard the clang of Forretress's Rapid Spin, he clutched his ears at the earsplitting sound of Vigoroth's futile attempts to claw at the mechanized monster. The latter two were listening, and it gave him strength. But of course he wasn't fooling himself; undoubtedly, Forretress had found himself in danger, and Vigoroth was just hyperactive like that. For now though, he needed a way out of this claw thing. Most of the Pokemon he would have trusted to do the job were elsewhere. The only way that immediately came to mind was to have Whiscash force it open with an Earthquake, but it wasn't the safest method... Alas, he'd have to try. Momentarily illuminating the dark confines of the crab's claw, Whiscash appeared, a little startled by the scene. Tim explained the situation, and advised an Earthquake for them to make their escape. Then, he plugged his ears: this would surely be loud. --- Outside the claw, Cynder had taken charge. She shouted amongst the mechanized noises to her fellow Pokemon. She knew they wouldn't listen to Tim, but perhaps, they would be more inclined to listen to a more powerful Pokemon? "Hey! You guys!" She shouted in PokeSpeak. "Forretress, keep up what you're doing! Vigoroth, climb up onto its head, and look for a weak point to claw at!" Herself? She was making her way behind the chaos, hoping to attack from behind with a Flamethrower. She had a back-up plan in mind, though. Should her attempt be interrupted, she was already calling upon the powers of another Eruption. She wanted to see if she could get it to melt. === ![]() Lv. 45 90/90 ![]() Lv. 31 51/62 ![]() Lv. 34 68/68 ![]() Lv. 40 80/80 (With Tim) vs. MechLv. 37 71/111 |

Umm, kays. (Oh yahz I changed my namez) As the claw was ravished, Aris held tight, awaiting anxiously the clang of metal meeting ground. Finally, Whiscash dealt the final blow, sending the claw tumbling. Aris was blinded by the sudden light, but he held on, riding the claw to the ground where he was thrown all around. Whiscash, it appeared, had jumped from the claw, and used a blast of water to slow his descent. Bastard. Aris drew himself from the claw, slowly at first, awaiting any side effects. When none presented themselves, he ran to his Pokemon, who had the giant machine on the ropes. "Great job guys! Let's finish it off!" He shouted to all of them, who needed no more persuasion. They happily continued pounding the giant mechanical Crawdaunt, eagerly awaiting its eventual fall. === ![]() Lv. 45 80/90 ![]() Lv. 31 43/26 ![]() Lv. 34 54/68 ![]() Lv. 40 80/80 (Using a Water Pulse, all others are the same) vs. ![]() Lv. 37 23/111 |

0.1 ![]() In lieu of an elaborately-written mod, for all we know it was a complete repeat of the last two turns, the attacks of the combined four Pokemon converged into one mega-powered super attack. Even something like Mechrawdaunt could not withstand the sheer power, and it showed in its weakening frame; the melted metal, the dents on its hide, the blown-off claw, and, soon enough, the explosions that erupted, seeming to expand from the inside out, pieces of metal and shrapnel scattering every which way in a deathly rain of failure. The Rocket pilot lucked out (or perhaps they've learned that their mechs have that very common tendency to self-destruct at the most inappropriate times), shooting out of the machine seconds before a final explosion rocked its core and completely obliterated it. A string of curses followed the vanishing man like a smoke trail, all the threats you didn't need to hear since it wasn't likely that the Rocket man would try botheing you again. The ancient trees that loomed overhead provided Aris with thick patches of shade, and safety from the burning sun. Indeed, it had plagued his whole stay in Deepwood, with its ever-present heat and bright, bright light. It was a calming feeling, to walk through the cool air beneath those wide and protecting branches. He walked a straightforward path, only deterring when he needed to sidestep a large trunk or an overgrown bush. It made travel fairly simple, and almost downright enjoyable. He examined the foliage and wildlife, hoping that one of which would present itself as battle-ready. He had a certain Pokemon that was unbearably close to evolution, but also one that seemed to hate Aris with a passion. He'd tried reaching out to the thing, but it insisted on pushing him away. It was like a riddle, or a puzzle. It needed solving. Lighting the dark forest floor was a flash from a Pokeball, one that welcomed a Vigoroth. The Pokemon immediately began running and climbing nearby trees. It was terribly hyperactive, as was such of that middle monkey evolution. After some corralling and convincing, he settled the Pokemon and began to talk to it. "Alright man. I don't expect you to listen to me, but it's obvious how hyper you are right now," Aris said. "I'm gonna find something for you to destroy, okay?" Whether the Vigoroth nodded or not was incomprehensible, for it was bouncing up and down too fast. === Shrine Grounds, to Great Fallen Log, to Thick Forest 2, to Cold Marsh Letting Vigoroth maul any Pokemon we find |

0.3 ![]() Or it could be mad with disease. The damn thing was frothing at the mouth. Its claws raised over its head, Vigoroth released a purely primal roar that echoed to the very ends of the forest, setting the canopy alive with disturbed wildlife that hid amongst the obscuring branches. He wasted no time taking advantage of the opportunity, scampering up the trees as fast as his paws could carry him, and judging by the hypereagerness, that was pretty damn fast. More sounds of tormented wildlife as it chased after various tree-dwelling creatures. Birds, monkeys bugsit roamed around for a bit, and pounced on a suspicious clump of leaves from a nearby bough. .1 Vigoroth screamed and shouted as he charged through the forest undergrowth. He scrabbled at anything within arm's length, whether alive or dead. Eventually he swatted at a bushel of leaves, knocking loose a Teddiursa. Any good trainer could tell at a glance what would come of a battle between these two; should Vigoroth win, which would be expected in its current frenzied state, he would evolve. There was no point in trying to hold the monkey back, for he likely wouldn't listen to Aris if he even wanted to stop him. 0.2. The Teddiursa stared, wide-eyed, as the vicious monkey charged towards him. The shock of it all kept him from moving as the creature started to score him with extremely sharp claws, but, once the pain set in, he seemed to snap into a battling instinct. "Teddi!" it yelled, fading away into the shadows of the forest. Vigoroth was confused, poking the grass where the small bear had disappeared. A few seconds later, the smaller pokmon materialized from the shadow of a tree above. It fell onto the Vigoroth, turning at the last moment and striking it with its round tail. As it continued to spin, it slashed out with its claws, giving the Vigoroth a few nice scars on the tip of its nose. The Teddiursa landed in front of the Vigoroth, claws out and panting. .2 (Good god this is terrible) Vigoroth wild charge was slightly less successful than Aris would have guessed; indeed, it seemed he had underestimated the Teddiursa. But when confronted with physical harm, most beings can find some way out of it. He dulled his surprise and set out on accruing some trust from his Pokemon. If he indeed was as surprised as Aris, he could attempt to impress him by thinking on his feet. "Vigoroth, quick! Use a Faint Attack, and then Slash!" Aris shouted, hoping that in the heat of battle Vigoroth would set aside his feelings and listen to what was right. === ![]() Lv. 35 56/70 VS. :teddiurse ![]() Lv. 26 60/72 |

.2 ((Ouch tough break. -12 on anger. I think you need to put that in the post, and the teddiursas lv is 36. lol, I know its just a typo. :] )) The Vigoroth turned and glanced at its trainer with a Pfft, whatever expression. He was tired. This pipsqueak of a teddy bear had just given him an external nose bleed. His trainers futile attempts at calling to that inner need to kill for survival wasnt exactly going to work every time Aris sang a happy tune of commands. Teddiursa, on the other hand, liked the sound of rapid fire orders. It made his heart beat faster. What wise words! So, why not follow them? So while the Vigoroth just stood around, ignoring orders, Teddiursa followed the commands he heard as reasonable and quite well thought out. He disappeared into the shadows of the forestry around them, appearing again at the ape looking pokemons base. Snatching the Vigoroth close he drove his sharp black nails into the white fluff of its chest and then followed it up with a scratch on the already tender area. ![]() Lv. 35 45/70 vs ![]() Lv.36 60/72 |

.2 This Vigoroth... the thing was downright unbearable. Aris wasn't quite used to not having Pokemon listen to him. He'd have to tough it out, for now, and hope that at some point in the future he could sway the Pokemon to his side. "Come back, Vigoroth," Aris said, rather embarrassed. He grabbed the Pokeball of his most reliable Pokemon, Cynder the Typhlosion. She appeared ready and raring moments later. "You know what to do," Aris said. It was time for another appearence of their strongest, though slightly overused attack: Eruption. Aris was already slinking away, preparing to return to Deepwood afterward. Once more Aris found himself here among the ancient trees and ruins. They hadn't changed since he had left, except the large burns dirtying some of the larger rocks. Cynder needed to learn a little control, Aris hadn't intended to harm Deepwood's history. Indeed, the town had welcomed him with open arms. He'd stayed here for quite a long time. He'd slept in the Pokemon Center for a long time, before he was turned on to a nice inn near the center of the town. It as very homey, and he and his Pokemon enjoyed their stay. "Well, this looks great..." Aris said as he filed into the room behind the inn's owner. The man was rather heavy, but quite jovial. He himself dabbled in Pokemon training as a hobby, and had spotted Aris sleeping in the Pokemon Center. He welcomed Aris to his inn, which gave discounts to Pokemon trainers. "Enjoy your room, young man!" The owner said with a hearty laugh. Aris smiled at him, shook his hand, and then began to sort through his belongings. The room was very nice. Aris had even inquired about buying the room, and hanging out in this peaceful town for awhile. But in the end, he knew that he was needed elsewhere and couldn't stick around. Just moments earlier he had broken ties with the owner, and taken a moment to reflect on his best night's sleep in quite awhile... "Well Ralph, I'm checking out today," Aris informed as he walked by the inn's front desk. Ralph gave a pained smile, for he'd had some good discussions in the inn's main hall. "I'll be here when you're ready, Aris," Ralph assured. Aris smiled and headed up to his room. Soon after, he pushed open the deadbolt door, and began to gather his items. A potion here, a few hundred zeni there. He started finding Pokeballs, and from within two of them, he felt a growing energy. Meditite and Vigoroth were on the brink of evolution. He released the two into the room. Vigoroth plopped onto the bed, and turned away from Meditite and Aris. The ape was still angry. Aris would leave him until later, Meditite was a trusted member of the team. "Meditite. It's finally time," Aris informed. Meditite nodded and burst into light. It faded suddenly, leaving Medicham. She was tall, sleek, and smart. "You look great Medicham," Aris said. His Pokemon blushed as red as the light recalling her. "Vigoroth. It's almost time for you to evolve too." No response. "And you know why. Because of me. You'd never be about to be as powerful as a Slaking without me." Still nothing. "Well, let's get out of here." He recalled the indifferent Pokemon, and left. It was time for Vigoroth to evolve. Aris sent him out. The monkey gave no words, for none were needed. He knew who got him here, but didn't quite want to acknowledge it. He prepared to evolve. "Alright Vigoroth, I'm not going to waste our time with the same old attempts to convince you. You're going to evolve. Without me, it would never happen. We know this. The problem here is that you won't accept that with me and my team, you have the best chance to become strong. Hopefully, you can start to get it with this evolution. Remember, there's no where for you to go but up from here. I had to recall you from a battle you easily could have won because you wouldn't battle. You could have evolved then if you would just work with me." Aris said. He sighed. "Now, we can just take this in steps. Agree to disagree. If you'll just do that, if you just listen to me in battle, we can become strong together." Aris let it sink in for a moment. Vigoroth appeared to consider. Then, he burst into light, evolving for the last time. "You can thank me later, Slaking. Let's get moving." Aris said. With that, the two began to walk. Shrine Grounds, to Great Fallen Log, to Thick Forest 2, to Cold Marsh. Going for a little happiness. |

.2 Medicham gains 2 happiness You and your new gorilla-type pokemon went through the forest. The Slaking scoffed at your words, saying you were the reason for its strength. Pfft. It had become quite strong in the wild on its own before running into you and your enslavement device. In time, evolution would have come. Eventually. Sooner or later... probably alot more later than sooner. But still. So, you went on, through the grounds of the shrine. The overall feel of this place was something you had to be there to believe. It felt majestic... almost as if you were somewhere that nobody else had seen or traversed. A bellowing roar interrupted the scene, causing you to hunker down a bit in recoil. The foliage rustled, and became louder and louder, until you could hear the beast breathing. Then, its head peered through the greenery, eyeing you intently as it would eye its next meal. ![]() ![]() Level 40 80/80 *RAWR!?* |

.3 From a large bush burst the scraggly head of starving Ursaring. Roaring and biting and clawing at the entangling foliage, the bear Pokemon seemed to smile. Food. While human flesh was rather bland and the muscle rather ropey, there was little more enjoyable than driving your claw just under the ribcage, and listening to the soft popping noises of the various organs. Then you could watch them squirm and fidget as they tried to fill useless lungs, as their hearts valiantly beat on, most of the blood spilling uselessly from gaping holes. And Pokemon? Finger lickin' good. He'd stumbled right into a forest buffet. Aris went into overdrive as that smile began to tug at the gruesome face of the Ursaring. There were few things you could on in this world, and that a starving Ursaring would eat you surely made that list. He needed to act fast while he still had some semblance of an advantage. His hands flew threw his pockets, and his Slaking and Medicham disappeared, leaving in their place a Typhlosion. "Cynder, Eruption, fast!" Shouted Aris, for their was no time for complete sentences. Cynder stepped forward, and flames exploded rhythmically around her neck. She gave a roar, and the Ursaring was obliterated as it emerged from the bushes. Cynder gains 1 level. Because of the aforementioned obliterating, most Pokemon are scared away. Aris and Cynder advance to Pontartica! |
