Book One: Water Extra One: A Hero's Dawn And they say that a hero can save us. I had reached a building, a large one, looming over me. I had somehow magically teleported to this grand edifice via the convenience of a mysterious Escape Rope whose last reported grappling hook has been this building. Regardless, I approached it cautiously. Criminals were abundant in this area, and I was just a weakling with a young Treecko by my side. The building was marvelous. It was a pearly white mixed with marble. The large, automatic screen doors opened and I entered the Police Headquarters. A beautiful-looking receptionist was typing on a computer, talking on her headset at the same time. She was conversing with a fellow officer, I assumed, but I didn't want to make an ass of myself if I did something stupid. I got a boner. Damn post-pubescent problems. I rapped on the counter. "Excuse me...miss?" I asked quietly, trying not to disturb the others in the area, working on reports, training, and the like. She nodded and took off the headset, saying, "Good-bye" to the person she was talking to. She flipped her hair a bit and adjusted it before paying attention to me. "I was wondering if I could maybe take the Police Examination in order to become a ranked officer and law enforcer." |

0.3 "If you wish to participate in a Police Examination, please report to Ivy. Oh, and please adjust yourself before you tear your pants, she's more attractive than me." She gave a quick giggle before pointing near the back of the building where a tall buxom woman stood, conversing with several scientists. This woman stood nearly six foot five with medium length red hair and legs that didn't quit. Combine this with her modest breast size and sexy lab attire, complete with mini skirt, she was enough to make most men die from nose bleeds. Good luck forming a sentence when speaking to her. |

0.2Another nervous habit arose. I began to fidget, and the boner never wore off. I kept walking in circles, looking like a complete jackass, embarrassing myself in front of all of the people in the waiting room. I looked down the hallway and saw Ivy, who was a red-headed bombshell; she was dressed in a very sexy ensemble, even if it were the standard scientist's uniform. Her curvaceous body, her succulent breasts---God dammit, I was getting another boner. I paced myself again, and decided to exit the building to take a breather. I needed to get rid of this habit. I thought of something. I went to the nearest tree, unzipped my zipper and jacked off for a brief moment. It was successful. Hm, I guess it's what I needed to cure this "disease." I walked through the sliding doors and entered the waiting room again. The receptionist looked at me and still giggled, giving me a cutesy wink. No boner. Thank God. I think I may have overcome this one of many obstacles. As I continued, I took a deep breath and composed myself slightly. My hands were twitching nonstop. My fidgeting was part of my nervous disorder. Whenever I get nervous, I just fidgety. Mainly it's just my hands, but other body parts fidget as well, like my toes or my eyelids. I approached Ivy, who was no longer talking to any of her fellow colleagues. I tapped her gently on the right shoulder. "Excuse me, miss? I was referred to you by the lovely receptionist over there" I pointed to her. She waved with her fingers and resumed to her work"and I was wondering if I could take the Pokemon Police Entrance Examination." |

0.2 No gen exp for me. "Please tell me that you didn't just touch me with /that/ hand?" Ivy quickly spun around, grabbing you by the wrist and twisting it behind your body. "Did you think that we don't surveil the outside of our building." Then, without warning, she released your wrist, pushing you a few feet away. "Now young man, which core do you wish to join?" And, that was all the detail she was going to go into. Guess she expects that anyone who comes to take the exams have already read the poster on the Tigull Board. |

(I award anyway, because I'm a nice guy. XD - 0.2)I mulled over the three choices. I would love to be involved with the SWAT team, but I hadn't the physique for the job. I was lean and good for running, but definitely not strong enough. It was even difficult for me to do push-ups, chin-ups, even lift weights. The SWAT team would have me in full-on gear, bearing weaponry, and I wasn't a big fan of receiving negative attention. There was stealth. I was quick, but I am a very clumsy individual. With training though, I think I may do pretty well. I would be in not-well-lit areas, and I was also pretty nimble. Thank God for having my parents put me in gymnastics when I was twelve. Because of that, I am pretty flexible. I still pondered. Stealth was definitely an option. Then there was Detective. I was pretty good with Forensic Science. Jessica's mother used to be a Detective for the OPD, and she was always pretty good at her job. She then went on to work for the G-Men in Opaddeka. She taught me several things, but I would definitely love to learn a lot more about being a detective. Additionally, the job can allow me to talk as if I were in a film noir. I've made my decision. "Ma'am, I wish to become... ....A detective." |

0.3 "Stacy, load the Detective test will ya?" Ivy's voice boomed out with impressive volume as she looked directly at a small brunette in a lab coat. "Yes ma'am." Without a seconds hesitation, the small girl began to type on the keyboard attached to the machine that she was standing next to. Suddenly, a strange mechanical sound filled the room as the device began to move around. A single ring floated up and down the circular base a few times before coming to a stop and beeping a few times. "Ok, I need you step into the machine so that we can get your virtual examination over with. Once inside the program, you will be charged with investigating a crime and potentially having to stop it." |

0.2 ![]() A small capsule-like device resided next to a supercomputer into which this woman Stacy inputted information. They told me to enter it, so I did. Very cautiously. I digitized into tiny pixels of myself and reemerged in a virtual environment of almost an exact replica of Little Hillmoss Town. I saw the Jasmine Dragon, Little Hillmoss High, even Vista Hill. Then I saw that the storm had returned. Everything darkened and a crime had erected itself in the town. I was in full detective attire and many gizmos and gadgets were at my side. I was a Detective, and I had a job to do. "Let's do this!" I said, pumping my fist in the air in triumph. Let's just hope this does become a triumph. |

((Bad Proph! I never said that the detective exam was in a virtual Hillmoss...)) So there you were, in a virtual version of Hillmoss, the town looking much it did the way it did when you left. That was except for the nearby building with a window smashed in. What sort of crime had taken place in such a normally serene town? "Please try and keep a low profile, we don't want everyone knowing that you a a Detective. Might make it rather hard for you to gather information." That was Ivy's voice by the way, speaking right into your brain. She was here to give you direction, no partake in a conversation. ((You are standing at the center of town with the house to your left missing a window. There's a woman standing outside looking rather peeved as well as her kid. To your right is a group of two teenage boys and two girls talking about the event. Straight ahead is the responding officer who is taking notes. There are a few other random people littered about who may have seen something. You job is to gather information on the crime (I will decide what the people divulge) and track down the criminal.)) |

(*face to palm* Gah! Got a bit too caught up in the moment. Sorry. Regardless, 0.3 for you because you did your mod-ly duties and caught on to my illicit activities. Continuing on
)I decided to make good use of my young age and speak to the teenagers. If I were an adult detective, it would look awkward and highly suspicious. So there I approached them, anticipating what they would say about this situation. I approached them, in my plainclothes, the current trend of this era, and began to subtly discuss the situation more in detail. "Hey, guys," I said as I walked toward them. Good stuff, so far, now don't get caught, I thought as I walked over to the group of adolescents. "What happened here? I just stopped by to grab a bite, and I see all of this happening. Could you tell me a bit about what event took place here? It doesn't look good at all." |

((No gen exp for non-canon stuff)) "Wow, didn't know they made cops that young." One of the girls scoffed at you before waving to her friends and walking off. The three that stayed behind looked over you before rolling their eyes. Seriously, what kind of kid talks so formally now a days? "Not sure. Guess someone robbed old lady Smith." The taller of the three pointed over to the angry old lady before crossing his hands behind his head and walking off. His smaller friend was soon following him while the last girl, who was hot by the way, winked at you as she too walked off. One group of witnesses down, leaving Mrs Smith and her son as well as the responding officer. Better get to work! |

(Okay.) Though normal cops didn't speak so formally, nor was any other teenager, I was different. Did I care? No. It's just the way it is. As I noticed the girls leaving the group, after some biddy scoffed at me for being myself, I saw this one girl give me a cute wink. "Excuse me," I said, teenage hormones getting the best of me. Instead of taking care of business, I approached her and asked for her number. Hopefully I got some digits...all seven of them, I hope. I jogged back after talking to the girl, using the notepad function on my Poketech now in order to organize the information I received from these teenagers. Mrs. Smith, I wrote down as I thanked the gentlemen and left. I walked over to the old lady whom the young man directed me towards several seconds ago, and approached her. I knelt down to her, showing that I respected her, and also to show that I was humble and not a thief. "Ma'am," I began, "I understand you're going through some troubled times, but I need to gather some information so we can capture the perp. First of all, do you have any idea as to what the person looked like?" I asked, grabbing my stylus. |

"Troubled times?! Troubled times?! Kids these days and their understatements! And no, I do not know what he looked like, I was out shopping when he stole my precious Meowth from my son!" The woman unleashed her pent up frustration as she turned to face you, the single youngest Police Officer she had ever seen. Why would the Police send a child to track down her assailant? Was she not worthy of an adult or something? "According to her son, the man was a little taller than me, about six foot four, skinny and wearing all black with a red R. He busted through one of their windows, took the Meowth and ran away off toward the Grasslands. But, this Growlithe here says that he never left the village." The officer also turned toward you and began to speak to you as the woman stopped her yelling, handing his own pda over to you. "You are allowed to use this Growlithe, though he has lost the scent due to all the people around." Even as the officer spoke to you, a dark figure peeked out from behind a building, watching your every move. |

(My character's eighteen. I'm tall for my age, too.) __________________________________________________________________________________ My eyes widened when I heard the words, "Red R" uttered from the son. As I continued to hear the information that came from him, I began to put some pieces of the puzzle together. Team Rocket has been the suspect of the numerous crimes that have surged throughout the countryside. These individuals have done nothing but lie, cheat, deceive, and steal to profit for themselves. The crimes range from simple thievery to pilfering of Pokémon to the mass destruction of the homes throughout the land via the means of gigantic, mechanized Pokémon replicas. I jotted down the thoughts that I had in note form on my Pokétch, recording every detail that crossed my mind. As time progressed, I began to realize that this could be one of a chain of crimes that Team Rocket has performed. I've undertaken this responsibility and cannot turn back now. "You are allowed to use this Growlithe, though he has lost the scent due to all the people around," said the commanding officer, a brown, furry dog streamlined with three black stripes on its back. It was an adorable creature and I saw myself with this creature for years to come. Of course, this was just a digital simulation. Although everything felt real and things did not even seem in the slightest bit to be true reality, I needed to remember that this is virtual. "C'mon," I began, turning off the Pokétch, "let's find this perpetrator." As I looked down at the creature, a gleam caught my eye. From a great distancewhat I assumed to be approximately 300 yardsI saw a silhouetted figure beyond me, staring at me and my companion at my right. I had a suspicious look on my face; I knew that he may have had something to do with this crime. I pulled on the dog's leash. "Come on, Growlithe, let's go." I chased him down, maneuvering through the alleyways and jumping over laying garbage cans. Flies were abundant; the garbage had not been picked up in well over a week. Growlithe gymnastically followed, flipping and jumping over each obstacle with relative ease. Its training has indeed helped it follow its police officer master very well, and quite intricately, even though it was a wee puppy. "Cease and desist! OPD!" I yelled, flashing my digital badge and identification card at the ambiguous individual. |

Without even a word, the shadowy figure off fled in response to your running. But, you were able to catch a flash of a red R on his chest as he turned to flee. This had to be the guy, but he was getting away. Seems that he had been trained to run in these sort of conditions. Seriously, what use would a criminal be if he couldn't run around in a dark alley full of garbage cans. "Growlithe!" With a massive roar from such a small creature, your companion leaped in front of you and unleashed a small barrage of flames. Each one barely missed their target for one reason or another. Then, a radio suddenly appeared in your hand as familiar voice entered your brain. "This radio can be used to summon that officer you saw earlier. You can tell him where to show up." Had better hurry, for you could see light up ahead, which meant the thief was almost in the clear. |

I noticed that my Pokétch had a radio function built right into it via the means and capabilities of the digital card that the Opaddeka Police Department inserted and downloaded. It was able to combine voice synthesizing technology and radio waves to contact others with the touch of the LCD screen! How utterly convenient. "Calling all units, calling all units," I recorded into my watch device, "we have a Rocket grunt nearby, wearing the uniform that members wear. He's on his way to the park about a mile or so from Vista Hill. Be forewarned; the man looks dangerous and perhaps armed? I am unsure of that fact, so don't count on that one. Over." I heard a voice reply back, though I really couldn't interpret what it said because of the static. Guess the Pokétch didn't work its kinks out, has it? Regardless, I readied my weapon, a Poké Ball, as well as my right, clenched fist. I then realized that I had an attack dog at my side. I guess it couldn't hurt if I ordered it to attack. "Sic 'im, Growlithe!" I ordered after turning the radio program on my device off, looking down at the puppy. Using my free index finger of my left hand, I pointed at the Rocket grunt who was attempting to escape the clutches of the police squadron. Whether or not Growlithe would attack the escaping grunt I knew not, but I ordered it to attack anyway; we needed to apprehend the thief because he is a threat to society and has a debt of crime to pay. I continued to run, following the thief, ensuring that I never lose sight of him. |

"Understood, sir." The officer's voice popped up over the radio with the sound of running as he quickly appeared at the end of the alley. This caused the Rocket to stop dead in his tracks and look around. He was trapped, with no way to get out except to battle his way out. But, he was a lowly grunt, and had no chance to beat you with his single Pokémon. So, he simply laid down onto the ground, and crossed his hands behind his head. "Good job, you have passed your test." In the blink of an eye, the simulation ended, and you found yourself back in the lab looking right at Ivy. She bent over a bit before handing you a badge and a letter. "Take this letter to Police Headquarters and they shall give you your starter and real badge. Congratulations on acing your exam." ((Will pm you the police pw.)) |
