After a (blessedly) uneventful visit into town, doing the usual, confirming business, switching around her team, Jemilie wandered around town for a while, to see if there was anything of particular interest. It had been a while, and she very nearly forgot why she seemed to avoid towns. But atfter witnessing a group of men loafing around a side ally, old fears resurfaced, and she found herself making haste to the city's outskirts. Trailing through the short trampled grass, the girl suffered an odd sense of anxiety and self-loathing. Just how long was she going to have to go through all this? Being tormented for the rest of her life by an incident that could have happened to anyone, could have been worse than it had been. It hadn't made her already dismal situation any better, and she was surprised she hadn't even thought to grab the nearest knife and slit her wrists at the enormity of what'd happened. In the end, she just summed it all up to apathy and went on her way, with the lone Charmeleon's firelight to guide them through the plains. Eventually they reached the shimmer of a small pool, faint splashes and gurgles indicating the water life that resided within it. The feline that had been tailing them looked on with a mix of disgust and interest. "No fishing today, Xan," the girl repremanded softly. "We have other things to look for." The Zangoose sat back on his haunches and scowled. The lavender blond trainer lifted the tiny blue bird from her shoulder. "Go search for something that looks like this." She opened her Pokedex and showed her an image of what looked like a lime-green canine, yellowish bolt-like markings across its stout form. The Swablu made a confirming sound and flew off high over the lands, Jemilie and the rest of her team following. "You, too. I want you to keep an eye out for this Pokemon," she told the other two with her, and both nodded and scattered. Crossing her arms, she looked over the dusky horizon, noting to herself that this was perhaps the first decision she ever made in quite a long time, one she was sure of and one she knew she wanted. It was...bittersweet. ------------------------------ Currently in: Fishing Pond Going to: Trampled Grasslands 2 -Staying near Moorfeltd- Gen Exp: 12.1 |

.3 genexp The bird quickly scrambled back to you, and a flame shot up at it. You could hear a couple howls trailing after it. The lizard and walking feline returned to find three different types of pokemon trailing after it. There was a reddish hound with black stripes, a black hound with a bit of gray, and the green hound with yellow stripes. The pack of pokemon looked upset that somebody was in their territory. 0.2 "Eep!" Aura screeched, narrowly dodging a blast of fire emerging from the grassland. Jemilie's brows drew together in confusion at her approaching form. Then the forms of the three Pokemon that were following her appeared...curiously, all canine-types, with the very one she sought out for trailing after the rest of the pack. "That was quick," she murmured, the bird landing at her shoulder as the trio arrived. Both the Zangoose and Charmeleon tensed, preparing for the ensuing fight, but the girl raised her hand. "Hold it and hear 'em out," she ordered to him, half-looking at her team, half-looking at the miffed pack of pups. "Ask them what they want and if they're willing to let us go without any trouble." What she really meant was to somehow get that little Electrike there to somehow join her crew, but for a potential ally, force wasn't exactly the best stratagem. If this one wasn't interested, there was a whole route filled with plenty more potential takers. She'd just have to stay around as long as she needed until she found one. Xan was scowling at the three Pokemon and didn't look in any hurry to make any sort of willing conversation. Mutts, he thought to himself and nodded to Hwajeh. "So, uhhm..." the Charmeleon began uncertainly. "Our trainer wants to know why you're attackin' us?" He looked back at Xan, and he sighed, waving a claw idly. "She wants to know what your guys deal is. And that if you try to pick a fight with us, you'll get your asses handed to ya," he concluded with a note of seriousness. It couldn't be said that the Zangoose was tactful, especially around hounds, and wouldn't be surprising if he actually wanted to take them all himself if he wanted to. But meh...trainer's orders. ------ Currently in: Fishing Pond Going to: Trampled Grasslands 2 -Staying near Moorfeltd- Gen Exp: 12.4 |

.3 genexp The pokemon looked at eachother, huddling up and started chattering away. Words such as "Too friendly." and "Risk." where thrown around a couple times. The rest was barked and yipped too quickly to hear. They turned back to face the trainer. "We've been having a lot of trouble with flying types around here. At first, all three of us were part of a much larger pack." The growlithe started. "They just started attacking for no reason, and came in a large flock of mixed bird types. We were taken by surprise." The electrike added. The growlithe nodded, "Yes, and we can't take any chances anymore. But we know those flying types were wild. No trainer could own so many. Plus, none of them were swablu, that we could recognize anyway. Just when we heard the sound of wings, we thought it might have been a spy sent out to find any remaining... Well, we've explained enough. Sorry for the confusion." The poochyena was silent, but glaring at the swablu and watching it closely the entire time, still suspicious. 0.3 The three Pokemon glanced at one another, a silent message made by their gazes passed from one to the other. Only the human remained oblivious, eyes staring at the Electrike hungrily. Finally, Aura slipped from her perch and landed on the Zangoose's head. "You..." she said uneasily, addressing the yellowish canine, "look adept for contending against these flying foes if what you say is true. But from your description, there are apparently too many for you alone to fight against. Perhaps we can be of assistance?" At once, Xan's eyes shot up to glare at the bird on his head. "What?! There you go again, offering to help with stuff that's none of our business. We didn't even get to finish helping that pig thing back there and I'm still hungry!" Hwajeh stuck a claw in his mouth. "Maybe we can help 'em dis time?" he asked. "We will," Aura confirmed, returning Xan's glare with her own. Though her features were no more intimidating, it was the cat that shrunk back. "Because that is our job." Xan looked away, huffing grouchily. "Hmph. Fine. Just don't don't expect me to enjoy it." Aura didn't seem expectant of this and simply nodded, looking back at the dog Pokemon. "I know this might seem suspicious to you, but we're all Pokemon seeking to train, and if assisting you involves anything similar, we are willing to offer out help." ------ Currently in: Fishing Pond Going to: Trampled Grasslands 2 -Staying near Moorfeltd- Gen Exp: 12.7 |

.3 genexp The dogs looked shocked that the bird would offer to help attack it's own kind. "There's a lot though..." The growlithe reminded them. "Our pack took out quite a few in the fight..but there might be too many left.. depending on how many of the rest of the pack are willing to join..though...I don't that's not ma-" "I highly doubt ANY will be interested." The poochyena snapped. "We've suffered a lot, I don't think the pack can last any more." "I know you've lost a lot. But they'll find us eventually. We'll have to give a stand eventually... And with them, we have a chance." The growlithe replied. The poochyena looked away. "..Well...Still... I doubt anyone in the pack would fight again anyway. I heard them talk a lot about moving to the forest to get away from the birds. Besides.. I still have a family..." The electrike glared at the gray dog for a minute and had to force himself to look away. "Right. Then go back to your family. We'll go out and fight them. The pack doesn't deserve any more losses." The growlithe nodded and started walking westward. "Right. Electrike and I will go for the flock. Tell the pack we said farewell." She looked over at the trainer and her pokemon, "But are you sure you want to do this?" |

0.3 Only Aura and Hwajeh seemed to have noted the particular pause between the Electrike and Poochyena's conversation, though one failed to understand the significance yet sensed the silent tension, and one only had a hunch about what the glare meant. The cat didn't care. "Yes, of course we are," Aura ended up answering for the group. "We can't assure you victory on our side. We will do as much as we can help you with." She nudged the cat with her talon. "Right?" Xan mumbled something inaudible, but nodded. Hwajeh was looking on through curious eyes, with the same nativity as a child caught in a dispute too beyond his meager understanding. But slowly little things were slowly coming to light. "Does that mean you aren't going back to your pack?" He asked. To him, the farewell had sounded final. Aura also hadn't missed the significance of the words. "The question is are you sure you both wish to do this?" she asked. "Perhaps there is another way to resolve this that will not risk further harm to anyone." It was said in a softer tone. Not everything could be resolved peacefully. The path she chose to follow with Officer Varso had been an unforgiving one. She'd seen the world outside the walls of the Legacy Police Academy and had her believes and morals shaken as they traveled from one land to another, from their home dimension tot he next. She was ready to fight when necessary, but she still believed that if there was a chance to resolve anything through a less-violent alternative, she would have been more willing to opt for that course instead. Jemilie was staring off into space, but she looked ready to follow whatever her Pokemon decided. It was as if roles had been reversed, where the Pokemon dictated their next move and she was the one that had to follow them... ------ Currently in: Fishing Pond Going to: Trampled Grasslands 2 -Staying near Moorfeltd- Gen Exp: 13.0 |

.3 genexp The poochyena glanced away and started to walk off. "I hope you come back safe." He whispered before he continued to walk off into the darkness. The growlithe looked to the electrike, but seemed to have trouble looking him in the eyes. "I'm sure this has to be done. We need to do it, and there's no peaceful way." She clenched her claws into the ground. "We already tried." The electrike smiled sheepishly, trying to see this as a bright time that they might actually defeat their enemies. "Well, we better get started then. We had a battle a few days ago, if we attack now, their numbers will still be low. We might have a chance to take out their leader. Hopefully then, any more will just fall apart from the flock and move on." The smile looked like it cheered the growlithe up a bit. "Right. So, you may follow us if you wish." She repeated. The two dogs lead the way westward, knowing well that it's up to you if you wish to follow or not. |

0.3 Aura looked up at her fellows, the now self-appointed leader. "Shall we follow then?" "I-I wanna help," Hwajeh pipped. "Yes." The sulking Zangoose shrugged. "Ah, well. Maybe I'll get to do something fun and get something to eat after all. Count me in." The Swablu landed back on her trainers shoulder and trilled to her in that unrecognizable dialect, indicating the two wandering dogs with enough gestures for the human to understand that they wished to be followed. "So we're going to help them. Lead on, then." The girl gave her approval, and the group followed on. She had a fantastic amount of confidence in her Pokemon, though she could never understand exactly what they wished or sought to do. But they'd been together since the beginning, and since the beginning she'd been training them to make their own decisions rather than rely on her dictation to battle. That, and they were all trained Police Pokemon. They would know the best decision to aid their little friends. she silently tailed the group while they became engrossed on the task at hand. Hwajeh had whispered to Xan, "Do you t'ink we can really help 'em?" to which the feline responded with, "Beats me. I'm not doin' it to help 'em. I'm just doin' it cause she told me to." The fire lizard turned his cerulean eyes to the hovering Swablu, and she glanced the concern in them. "Don't worry, Hwajeh. We've fought harder battles. This will be yet one more river to cross." ------ Currently in: Fishing Pond Going to: Trampled Grasslands 2 -Staying near Moorfeltd- Gen Exp: 14.5 |

.3 genexp You arrive in the trampled grasslands 2. The two dogs hault, sniffing the air and ground. They hunched down low out of instinct. "They're nearby." The electrike whispered. "There's a tree up ahead. They should all be there." A loud squak went off overhead. "THE WOLVES ARE COMING, THE WOLVES ARE COMING!" It screamed. The bird flew back towards the tree, which had begun to shake and tremble with movement. It looked as though the entire treetop rose up as the flock approached. One bird came out front. "Who dare come to our land?" It snapped. It had hair that hung over it's face slightly, almost in an elvis look. It noticed the growlithe and electrike and broke out in laughter. "You're here with THEM? And hey, isn't that an electrike? I thought we finished all of your kind off." The electric dog snarled, a few sparks jumping off of it's figure. "You obviously missed one then." "You're right." The Staraptor chuckled. "We better fix that." 0.3 (Even though you, like...quit months ago. >.>) Soyeah. Freeform (FINALLY). A shortcut battle based from the events from the one above. Enjoy! Battle of the Birds Pg 1 Pg 2 Pg 3 Pg 4 Pg 5 Pg 6 Pg 7 Pg 8 Pg 9 Pg 10 -------------------- Goals: This freeform was originally mean to just finish a battle without burdening the mods with so many battlers, but it eventually turned into an elaborate capture attempt. So 1. To be able to catch Electrike (note: unlike other freeform Pokemon, Electrike was actually available to battle and catch, so I want it at the same level its currently in *Lv 28*. I only bypassed regular posting to do so in favor of a freeform.) 2. (Optional) To have it know Flamethrower (see flavor notes below). If not Flamethrower, just Exp instead. 3. If not the above two, Exp and EVs, plz (HP Evs, preferably, or EVs from battling the above available Pokemon.). -------------------------------- Stuff to be read after- the comic (or if you're still confused and need enlightenment) In-Depth Summary The XanAurJeh team agrees to help a Growlithe and Electrike battle a bunch of power-hungry birds in an effort to protect the remaining dog pack that resided in that area. So far, Electrikes family has appeared to have suffered the most casualties, and the remaining members of the pack (believed to be mixed with other dog types like Growlithe and Poochyena) are seeing refuge in another area. Because of an earlier battle, they believed the flocks numbers were low enough to be able to target the leader and finish them off. They eventually find them and initiate a final confrontation, XanAurJeh and Growlithe fighting the flock and Electrike breaking away to fight the leader, a Staraptor, himself. Although the birds themselves were not powerful, they were able to hold their own and elude attacks via Double Team moves to make their numbers appear more than there are. Xan was the first to notice (since Hwajeh uses the move a lot himself and has grown to recognize it) and orchestrates an ambush in an overgrown wheat field to cut off the birds that can use Double Team (Taillow and Starly) from the rest. Electrike eventually manages to overcome the Staraptors illusions and finds the real one, but becomes badly damaged and outmatched at that point. Echidna rescues him in time (with Jemilie gone back to the center to fetch her. Yes she left her Pokemon fighting by themselves. <.<;;; *irresponsible*) and finishes off the leader. Electrike faints from exhaustion and Jemilie takes the opportunity to catch it, since an Electrike was what she was originally looking for before the whole mess. Flavor Stuff *Pg 4 The attack in the background was a combination attack of Auras Dragon Pulse and Hwajehs Fire Spin, nicknamed Flash Drill. *brickd* -The additional three Staraptors were illusions from Double Team. There was supposed to be an extra page with Electrike figuring out the trick but I skipped it. >.>;; *Pg 5 Hwajehs Fire Spin trapped the Starly and Taillows inside, with the Pidgey and Spearow outside. *Pg 6 Staraptors downward attack into the field was Brave Bird, and the explosion was a result of Electrike using Flamethrower to muffle the impact. Orit could be metaphorical, depending. It was originally meant to be metaphorical, anyway. >.> -And the possible reason it might know Flamethrower? Its pack is filled with mixed dog Pokemon, and part of a trio with Poochyena and Growlithe. Its possible it learned it off Growlithe instead of regular electric attacks (since its been sorta implied a few posts back that its one of the only Electrike remaining in the pack.) Pg 7 Staraptor was attacked from behind (if you didnt figure it out) with Echidnas Razor Wind (which is what the text is in the background). Pg 9 The overly dramatic white scene was an overly-dramatic faint from exhaustion. Dont you watch anime enough to recognize a faint scene? >.>;; Pg 10 Jemilie doesnt normally wear such atrocious clothes. It was the guy she killed and stole the clothes froms fault. He tried to put his penis in her vagina. And he totally ripped up her threads. D= Random The other Pokemon arent as injured as Electrike because they didnt have to battle an evolved Pokemon about six levels stronger than they are by themselves. >.>;; ~Taddle |

It didnt take a rocket scientist to figure out where she was headed. Hopefully anywaycause she currently had no clue where her path should wander next. And she had no idea what she held in her hands. Well, theres only one way to find out, Nurse Joy had explained upon her discovery of the stay object in her possession. Couldnt you do some DNA test or something? Jemilie muttered, holding it as gingerly as one might hold something that could potentially explode at any second, and the ever-helpful nurse had simply turned her on her way. So now she was stuck with some egg of unknown origins and not a clue where the freak she should be headed. Radloff would be the next plausible choice, I guess. Farmmore farm Her emerald gaze slipped to her side, where the great alabaster beast was calmly keeping pace, a serene and deadly look complimenting her dark continence nicely. It wasnt Xan, due to the fact that the lazy Zangoose would prefer to lag behind than keep in step with wherever she went. And Xan didnt have such an imposing air about him, the way this magnificently dark creature commanded. She was also amused to note that, with the exception of Hwajeh, they all seemed to know her. A reputation amongst the forces back in Legacy headquarters? She did turn into a monster once. Any suggestions? the girl inquired of her. The Absols blood-tinted eye glanced back at her with little response, and snorted. Pokeish or English, it was perfectly understandable: she didnt care. I could lead you off a cliff and you wouldnt care. Something like a chuckle rose from the beasts throat, and her stride overtook hers, leaving a bewildered Jemilie staring at her back. A mix of anger and realization of a cold truth caused her steps to slow. It had been years, and their reunion brief, but shed spoken with knowing conviction. You dont have the guts. .3 The egg began to shake. It began to glow. It began to...hatch? Hatching wasn't necessarily the best term to use here, considering whatever was in the egg just shattered it's confinement into a million places with a strong, powerful Headbutt attack. In it's place, for the first time, Jemilie was able to see what the mysterious pokemon that appeared that fateful night truly was. It was a Bagon. But this Bagon appeared to be different from other pokemon that had recently hatched, as evident by the bright, white glow that it was emitting. After a while, the glow faded away, and Bagon stood their silently, nobly. How odd, that this newly hatched pokemon would have such poise to it, when others would be crying or running around and looking for something to play with. Unfortunately, Jemilie and her pokemon were not the only creatures to see the miracle that was this little Bagon. While all eyes were focused on the new pokemon, a strong wind began to blow directly behind Jemilie. The wind continued to pick up, and now was accompanied by...snow? The cause of this snow storm was a rather menacing looking Snover, hellbent on breaking this happy moment up. What the hell was a Snover doing in the Moorfeldt Grasslands? ![]() Level 30 *Note: Bagon is a male, and level 10. Yeah, Level 10. So enjoy. And more importantly, use.* |

0.4 The girl froze at first sign of movement, caught in that precious moment of fight or flight and extending far longer than necessary. The egg exploded in her palms, a hundred tiny fragments giving way to a stout lizard-like creature. Momentarily blinded by the strange glow it emitted, the girl rubbed her eyes and looked harder. Then rubbed them again, and gaped in disbelief. Whattheyou gotta be kidding me. She didnt need a Pokedex to tell her what kind of creature she was staring at. The grooved dome-shaped head, the blue-violet scales, the smooth pale underbelly. Tiny upper limbs and powerful hind legs. Razor fangs, an ancient gaze, a power beyond the confines of history The girl fell to her knees before it, speech beyond her. This thing wasthat eggitd always been aa Brrr. Is it getting colder here or is it just me? Fur fluffing, Xan stared into the sudden gale that began sweeping through the clearing. Winter was just ending but it felt as if it was returning in full force. Aura flew into an outstretched paw before being blown away, and Hwajehs distressed murmurs reached his ears. A thud at his side, and he came face-to-face with the dark new addition to their team. Look alive, men. We have an interloper, she announced in a deep, husky timbre, heavily accented and mystifying. Squinting through wind and snow, the Zangoose could just make an approaching shape, and waved to the fire lizard. Hwajeh! Somethings coming outta there- He nodded immediately and skipped ahead, tail-flame dancing in the haze, flashes of heat and light melting away the cold. Almost without thinking, Jemilie huddled over the new creature, shielding it from the biting cold. Of all things, who wouldve thought she finally had one? (.3 Tad)In terms of battling, it was pretty on sided. The Hail storm was brewing away darkly, with growing intensity. Hwajeh did shiver, it was natural for the fire lizard to do so. His flame could stand a lot, but a constant barrage of ice? Not for to long. His eyes raised toward his foe and he opened his maw. The flamethrower rolled of his tongue and engulfed his target - sending the sky alight. The disadvantages of being a pokemon of ice and grass is that any fire pokemon is going to seriously make you suffer. Which meant that any Snover wanted to avoid fire attacks at all costs, unfortunately for this Snover - it was to late. The blinding speed of Hawjeh was no match and before it could react or retaliate, the battle was already over. Hawjeh had one and gained - 0.9 :exp! Yay for you. |

0.2 Fallz. I've done worse. The wind and sleet faded, the placid air returning and all life continuing on as normal. At least the lives of everyone but the small troupe huddled together. From thereon, life would be anything but normal. As if it ever was. "A Bagon..." she murmured, passing a hand over the creature's large dome. Jade eyes watched her intently, lacking the usual joyful youthfulness normally characteristic of newborns. Although that wasn't by any means uncommon, the intensity of its gaze was far deeper than what any hatching should have. She knew very little about dragons and only as much as what the rest of the world had managed to find out about them. But she always admired their strength, their perseverance, their ability to overcome the ages and become creatures as revered as legends. And by pure chance, from out of the blue, she held one of them in her hands, the prize she'd always dream to possess once more and never believed she would. "You'll be...Endymion, then," was all she said, a final pat on the head of the small one and stood. She was aware of four pairs of eyes patiently waiting for her, and motioned all with nod of her head. "Come on." She didn't glance at the child, knowing he'd follow. What else could he do, where else would he go? The rest, she knew, would better welcome him than she could, and watch him when she didn't. Her heart was still devoid of affection for the meanwhile. Unforunately for the newly born some creatures in these grasslands werent too happy with trainers wrecking the serenity and that included their pokemon. One such pokemon had finally had enough of the constant interuptions by these people and their pokemon, running in from behind the duo the pink pokemon pushed Bagon to the ground and rubbed his face in the dirt. A triumphant yell exploded from his mouth and quickly dashing away from Bagon he hoped he could get away before the trainer could turn. Lv 10 20/20~Running away from Bagon. |

0.3 "Hey!" the Zangoose yelled, spotting the swift attack of the strange pansy-pink dog-thing against the newly-hatched dragon thing his trainer somehow gotten while his attention was elsewhere. For a moment, he simply stood and stared, trying to absorb what he was seeing, before tossing his head back in uncontrollable laughter. Loud, roaring belly roars of glee that made his companions look on warily and back away at a distance. It certainly wasnt helping Endymions situation any, the dragon slowly rising from his position in the dirt, huffing dust clouds and a hind claw slashing menacingly. Jade eyes were burning with so much anger you could swear they were glowing with the intensity of the emotion. Almost as fearsomely as a creature ten times its size, it bellowed a deep, aggressive rolling growl before propelling itself forward and after the little snot that dared disgrace it. It kept a single eye held on the fleeing form, while its dome lowered, sturdy and promising much hurt to however unfortunate to be in the way of this charging battering ram. The Absols head snapped back, and Jemilie felt compelled to do the same, in time to see the blue-violet form steadily vanish over the grasslands. Alarm bells started ringing. Aura, catch up to him! Dont lose him! she barked, and the blue bird was quickly airborne in a flurry of feathers, abandoning her initial wariness. Hwajeh, Xan, after him, too! The Charmeleon was already running off, and the Zangoose was some seconds behind, still recovering from his earlier bout of madness. The human and dark Pokemon followed more slowly. .3 It didn't take long for your speedy pokemon to surround the small Snubull. With its short stubby legs, running wasn't exactly the smartest thing for it to do. Still, it tried. And still, it failed. It halted just in front of the wall of pokemon, unsure about where to run. It was then that it was hit with a massive head... the one conencted to Bagon. The pure power of the atatck caused Snubull to fall to the ground stumbling, and eventually rolling into a small pond for fishing. With its short legs and arms, swimming was rather difficult, as you watched on as it slowly sunk deeper and deeper into the waters depths. ![]() ![]() level 10 20/20 vs ![]() ![]() level 10 8/20 *drowning* |

0.2 The Pokemon crowded around the shoreline, watching the waves fade to ripples, the ripples giving way to escaping air bubbles as the Snubble made its decent to the bottom of the pond. The silence grew amongst the throng with Jemilie's arrival, and it took a moment for her to comprehend what was going on as the last of the bubbles floated to the surface. An indecisive expression crossed her features, staring at the water without a word or signal. The air was rife with silent turmoil, each Pokemon knowing in its mind the costly price of hesitation, and yet undecided if it merited intervention on their part. At last, the one to break the silence was the silent Absol. "Save it." "Uh, pardon? Did you not see that thing attack that thing?" Xan muttered, the least troubled amongst the rest, claws pointing respectively to mentioned 'things'. "The little tyke had the right idea right there." The Absol's deep crimson eyes snapped the Zangoose's way, causing a visible flinch despite efforts to keep a steady composure. It evaporated with each step she made towards him, her deep, accented voice like the haunting whisper of a nightmare in his ears. "True. But if you don't save it, it will die. And if it dies, you go against your resolutions. The guilt will ultimately break you into even less the worm you are now because of your pride and misjudgment of a simple wrong you failed to correct." "...Do I haveta?" Xan squeaked. "Water is a fire Pokemon's worst enemy. Winged things aren't made to swim." She grinned lightly, voice lowering a notch. "Better hurry. Your honor dies a bit more with it." She could hear the feline's muffled grumbles as he sped unwillingly into the waves, cringing as it lapped up, over and engulfed him completely. Aura and Hwajeh watched, stunned. "That's...the first time I've seen him...can he even swim?!" Aura wondered out loud, worry in her voice. Echidna seemed unconcern, watching the water serenely. The human and dragons looked on with interest. Maybe a minute or so -time seemed to stretch indefinitely in such tension- the surface broke again once more, a gasping, waterlogged claw slicing through and dragging itself back to shore. A white, waterlogged lump of fur clamored out of the water, tossing a limp pink form into the sand while it shook itself in a heavy spray. The rest huddled over to the rescued. "He isn't breathing..." Aura reported. "McClaw. CPR. Now," Echidna, voice more authoritative than before. "Hey, I got in the damn water and saved his lame ass!" he snapped, wringing one ear. He was pissed enough to hold his ground against her pressuring stare...for a few scarce seconds. Afterwards, he made a ticked-off sound and landed beside the canine. The disgust on his face was unmistakable upon viewing the massive jaws he had to give mouth-to-mouth to. "Straighten the airway, close the nostrils, two breaths followed by ten chest pumps," she directed. He complied obediently, going through two and a half circles before the Pokemon finally spit up globs of water and saliva, sending the cat rushing headlong back to the water screeching. With the Bagon looking on, apparently still holding a grudge, the Absol patted a paw against its back while it heaved for breath with loud rasps. "You're still alive, at least," she purred. "That should be punishment enough for you." "Its not too late to apologize, as well." She indicated the scowling dragon, her voice implying that it was probably in the Snubbull's best interests to do so regardless if it was feeling sorry enough or not. (0.3 :gexp) The Snubbull looked to the Bagon, then to the Absol. It quickly realised that backchat at this time was very dangerous. With a quick, muttered apology, the canine scampered off towards the safety of a nearby bush. No way was it trying something like that again for a while. Also, you gain +1 for saving a drowning Snubbull. As your party moved away from the pond, the local wildlife knew better than to jump out and attack. As a result, you were undisturbed on your travels. The grass soon became flattened, as if many people and pokmon had walked along this route before you. Off to the western horizon, you could see the faint outline of wheat crops rustling in the breeze. Reached: Trampled Grass 2 It was quite quiet where you were, but that wasn't to say that there were no wild pokmon at all around. For starters, there was a Venonat scurrying about nearby. Nice, friendly bug critte. Not the bravest, though; as soon as it saw your band of pokmon it froze, and immediately started to tremble. It let off a few harmless spores in a weak attempt to deter what it saw as potential attackers. Lv. 28 - 56/56

0.3 The Venonat had the right idea when it assumed the incoming troupe of foreigners as 'potential threats'. Jemilie went rigid upon seeing the insect scamper in her vision sight. Maybe she would have bypassed it completely had it hid instead of shook some potentially damaging spores their way. The spores had gotten her attention, which brought her gaze to the fuzzy violet insect scampering nearby, and reacted in a way that could translate as "OMIGOD A BUG KILLITKILLITKILLIT!!!". But in a more quiet and refined manner. So, with everyone else agreeing that bugs were icky (and some smooth imporing from Xan, seeing Echidna raise her eye towards him again), it was decided that Hwajeh should have the dirty job of ridding the insect, and the Charmeleon willingy made chase, after images following his wake while his mouth lit up with harsh fiery fury, a fair sign that whatever Hwajeh planned on doing was going to hurt. A lot. LV 32 67/67-Using Double Team/Flamethrower Evs: Attack+5/Def+3/Spec.Attack+3/Spec.Def+1/Speed+12 vs LV 28 56/56Currently in: Trampled Grass Destination: Radloff Gen Exp: 22.3 |

Freeform grading commence: This word is so overused these days I think its starting to lose its impact, but my diagnosis is thus: Awesome. I really like the style of your characters, theyre recognisable, retaining that game-art/anime look and still being different enough that I can appreciate your own take on them (Absol is pretty bitchin). The design really appealed to me, generally because I like how the original pokemon look but you also give them some extra touches (like fur and feather details) that make sense. And how cool did that Staraptor look on page 2? Bad-ass cool is how cool. Youve also got the composition in each panel to a T. Stuff is always happening, the action is sharp and it doesnt dissolve into talking heads when theres an exchange in dialogue required. (oh, a word of advice from someone who doesn't actually know what he's talking about but heard it somewhere, some of your page layouts are a bit busy. Generally you should keep the panels on your page to 7 or less. Page 5 had me slightly kerfuffled but wasn't too bad. Just thought that'd be a good tip to pass on) Theres not much to comment on in regards to the premise of the thing, since that was established beforehand. Let me say that overall I didnt find it as tense as perhaps it should have been. The bulk of the group fighting happens off screen, which I understand and it works after all the work leading up to the ambush, but the big struggle between Electrike vs Staraptor is glazed over more than I wanted. Electrike is fine in one panel then all scratched up in the next and I wanted to know why. Maybe if you showed one of Staraptors attacks before that it wouldve given me an idea of how much of a threat he was (coz for the most part he appears as a hovering thing being all menacing and but its all only talk). However, the conflicts you did draw I enjoyed a lot. I didnt really penalize you for this, but the font you chose for Echidna the Absols speech was really annoying. Its painfully hard to read. Especially in that bulk of text on page 8. It distracted me from the story because I had to slow it down to figure out the dialogue and that messed with my pacing. Also, just pointing it out with no deductions made, there are typos on panel 1 of page 10. What? Im a stickler. Characterisation was impressive, though there was a bit of a disconnect between Jem and her pals. Is she being hands off or something? Maybe thats the idea I dunno. It didnt hurt my overall enjoyment though. Xan's expressions were the most readable, and the Staraptor looked appropriately sinister and smug (ok well I think birds in general are evil looking but whatever). I thought the dialogue of each character was appropriate for their voices too. Props. Thats it. Ah, the rewards. You catch the Electrike at the cost of a pokeball. That about it. Its got null happiness because, I dunno, its kind of depressed right now or something. It knows Flamethrower at the cost of a big chunk of exp, though. Thats a wildly useful move, which you probably do not need, but he gets it. Oh and 4 def evs for him too, the little trooper. So you get that electrike, with the stated extras and pokeball cost, and 21 Not too shabby. Did you want the growlithe? Then you can have above reward or 15 , the electrike with extras, AND growlithe, minus 2 pokeballs. -------------------------------------------------- And a mod while I'm here: The venonat was meek and mild, Hwajeh quite simply a force of nature. Oh sure, with its compound eyes and latent foresight the bug had complete awareness of the REAL charmeleon. But the lot of good it did was the fat kind. The lizards double teaming was more an exercise than anything neccessary. And it was easy to tell which was the real Hwajeh because he was the source of the howling hell blast now incenerating the venonat. A shriek came from the furry thing, now a bald, burnt thing, and it popped inexplicably. Silently itl away into some shrubs. Surprisingly nothing caught on fire. Gone and defeated. Well done, or something. gained 0.9 ![]() Currently still in: Trampled Grass gen exp award: 0.1 |

Thanks you for smodding , KJ! ^^ And I'll take the first reward: Electrike with stuffs and 21 :exp. *jumps away with glee* ------------------------------------------------------------ 0.1 And the bug was no more. Would any mourn its loss? Probably not. Who cares. They didnt. They had more important things to do. Such as? Shut up. *grumble* Darn Echidna. Makin me go in freakin cold, nasty-ass water for some pansy dog-thing *grumble* He snapped his tail, sending water flying everywhere and squawks of disapproval from his cohorts. Hey, dont blame me. I didnt wanna do it. Auras beak was a fine line of non-amusement, wiping away a trickle of lake water. Yes, wellsometimes the right thing to do isnt the most pleasant. Yet we gotta do it anyway cause its the right thing to do. Man, cant someone give me a better reason to stick my neck out for stuff I dont like. He looked cautiously behind him, seeing the Absol retreat her stalking stelp beside the trainer and shuffled closer to the Swablu, voice lowering to a whisper. So run that by me again how you know her, Aura? Shewell, not to say Im creeped out or anything, but I think I recognize her. Like some old nightmare Ive tried to forget, he thought silently. The Swablu took her place on his head, cringed at the cold dampness, and resumed flight. She was our instructor. She directed the Swablu squadron of the Police Department just as you had Sergent Buster as your instructor. She is very insightful and taught us how to use strategy and tact instead of brute strength. You dont remember her? Mmmmmaybe. The academy days wasnt exactly a time I like to remember, the Zangoose muttered, scuffling his paws in the dirt. Weird she managed to find her way back here, though. Almost likeiono. Fate. She has been rumored to be a soothsayer back then. And during the great eclipse, transformed into a powerful monster. But Im not certain if those were actually true or just rumors. She seemed to have attained a lot of respect amongst the Pokemon there. Even your instructors. Yeah yeah. More mumblings about stuff no one cares about, and the troupe trampled the trampled grass, in an easy stampede towards the area where crops were sparse, and bugs were hopefully less. (0.3 :gexp) The trampled grasslands soon turned into the crop fields. In the distance sat Radoff the giant farming town was brimming with life at this time of year. Unfortunately for the farmers there crops didnt fare as well. The group trudged through the farmlands, stopping every so often to check out the corn. One on particular stop a chomping noise could be heard, a second followed and soon there was a huge crash. It sounded as though concrete had been smashed together. Through the think crops two brown pokemon could be seen, staring each other down. A single corn cob sat between them, with a snort the bulls charged at each other, backed up a few paces the repeated the steps. Lv 26 x2 52/52~Fighting Over Corn ~Post In The Farmlands. |
