Silens watched as the nourished grass disappeared beneath his feet and was replaced with dark, dead grass. Sighing he looked once again in his poketech, it was still a long trip to Y'orek, but it had to be done. He had never ventured through this area before and something about it gave him an uneasy feeling in his stomach. He quickened his pace substantialy, he wanted out of this baron wasteland and the sooner the better. Silens could feel the toxic gasses of the Blighted Plains going to his head and soon he could feel his brain become light and his steps seem to be a bit more awkward than normal. "No way." Muttering under his breath Silens took a turn and began to head towards what his poketech reffered to as Radloffian Farmlands. He had heard of a small bug pokemon called Nincada residing in the Farmlands, apparantly this pokemon evolved into one of the quickest pokemon ever. Silens knew that a speedy pokemon would be required in his future missions with TR. Scanning over the briefing email he had recieved from TR a smile formed on his face, he didnt need to be at Y'orek for quite a while, enough time to train his ass off. 0.2 :gexp. Blighted was just the way to put this place, and Y'orek was none too far off. You could see it on the blank horizon now, just a smudge of smog and darkness. It'd take you some time to get there, but wasn't that always the case? The Poisoned Grasses receded quickly, leaving on the the most barest of the Blighted Plains. As you started off into the Poisoned Plains 1, things were open and vulnerable. As were the pokmon in the area, and as was you. It was just a question as to who would be the aggressor. And it seemed you would be the one to decide. You came across a large, bloated green pokmon in the road. It looked as though it had just finished eating something and was now sleeping it off. The Gulpin was perfectly happy as it was right now, but you could always do something to ruin its fine day. ![]() Level 16 32/32Sleeping. |

(0.2 :gexp) Silens walked slowly through the poisoned land being careful with every step. The monkey-man stopped when he noticed a green rock in the middle of the road. "Stupid rock." Cocking his leg back Silens preapred to give the 'rock' a taste of his boot. Just seconds before he would strike the rock a small green bubble rose and with a small pop exploded, showering the rock with a faint green dew. "What the..." Bending down Silens examined the object and discovered it was a pokemon, swiftly he pulled out his pokedex and comenced a quick dna scan on the green blob. "Gulpin the Stomach Pokemon, Almost all of its body is its stomach." Snapping the 'dex shut Silens leant down next to the small pokemon and gave it a small nudge. "Hey you?" (Bucket of 6)

0.2 Maybe Monkey didn't listen to the Pokedex entry close enough. Most of it's entire body is made of stomach. Ever been nudged in the stomach? Well, now imagine your a couple hundred inches smaller. The nudge felt like a light punch! The Pokemon snapped awake and turned to nudger of doom and projected a vile purple substance that burned the eyes, you surprised it! And seems it threw up it's lunch all over your face...The Pokemon seemed apologetic...but not much can be said about the burning substance that sprayed all over yer face. I reckon it feels like soap in the eyes, and your skin feels like it's being purged by a burning match. I'd say it worth a roll around in the grass and a pair of rubbing hands to get the substance off your face. The Gulpin blinked, covering his mouth in astonishment. He waved his arms around trying to apologize for his burning projectile. But it seemed like the monkey boy would be too busy with his burning. |

(0.2 :gexp) "Hell No," Silens spat quickly as the substance seeped into his mouth, "Blh, I, eww" Unable to form proper words Silens cried out in agony as the gunk hit his eyes and burned like hell. Falling to the ground Silens held his hands to his bloodshot, almost blind eyes. His frantic actions caused Aduro to be released from his prison. With a quick flex Aduro took a moment to analyze the situation and with a fierce cry he came to one conclusion the little blob had hurt his friend. Clenching his fists the fire monkey gave Gulpin one chance to explain himself before he would get crisped. (Bucket of 6.2)

0.1 The Gulpin didn't have much of an explanation, he was just surprised and his stomach was plowed into. He was prone to projectile vomiting when surprised and nudged in the stomach, not that the boy knew that. But that was his only explanation, but the Gulpin was still scared of being burnt to a crisp. So he warned the ape not to get physical, or there would be consequences. Apparently the Gulpin had some kind of strategy to keep himself from getting harmed in an environment such as this...wise not to push him...he may throw up again! Or something else, I'm not entirely sure. The poison Pokemon looked over to Primeape boy and asked the ape if he was going to be okay. |

(0.2 :gexp) Aduro took notice of the blobs warnings, as Gulpin asked about Silens the fighting chimp turned to look at his trainer. Now that he saw how ridiculus he looked Aduro couldnt help but smirk, goo covered his face and he was clawing at his eyes. "Aduro, help me!!" The cry wiped the smile from Aduro's face, swiftly he strode over to Silens and with slight slash from his claws he was able to break the sticky hold on Silens face. Bloodshot eyes looked at Aduro then at the little blob, blinking several times he took a deep breath, regained his composure and stood unsteadly. "Thanks Aduro," Returning the monkey to his confines Silens once again attempted to converse with Gulpin, for some reason this little guy stirred an interest in Silens. He appeared to have potential not visible to the naked eye. Once again Silens crouched down to speak with Gulpin face to face. "Hi, sorry about waking you earlier, my name is Silens." Reaching for Aduro's pokeball Silens added, "This is Aduro." "I think you have great potential Gulpin," waiting a moment for his message to sink in he awaited a response. (Bucket of 6.3)

0.3 Odd, nobody ever thought Gulpin had potential. Most people saw him as a nuisance and as a filler for the Pokedex. What strategical advancement could he pose for this boy? Wouldn't he rather have a Croagunk? Or a Koffing? Not that he had a whistle or anything that could summon a Croagunk or a Koffing, but he did. See, the little whistle around his neck? He has one. He uses the Whistle to summon those Pokemon to do his fighting for him, but seeing as this boy came off as a nice person he didn't see any reason to call for his poison brothers to come and help him out. The Gulpin arched his head, which doubled as his body and only seemed perplexed as to what the boy meant. Potential? He had no such thing...what potential could he possibly have? The Gulpin moved in a little closer for a better listen...potential, great potential at that! The Gulpin lookrd like he was roped in. What now say I. |

(0.2 :gexp) As the small blob crawled towards Silens the monkey boy reached for a pokeball, releasing his fire monkey once more. Aduro looked quite bored as he surveyed the area, beating his chest he advanced on the small blob thinking his release meant a fight was about to occur. "Aduro no, Gulpin is not the enemy." Aduro stopped mid-step cracking his knukles he unconciously tensed his muscles. "Gulpin, i would like you take a look at Aduro here, when we first met he was a small Chimchar. But after much training he had become more powerful and turned into the fighting machine you see before you." Aduro's ego rose through the roof as Silens praised him, 'fighting machine...i like the sound of that.' Continuing his hopefully inspiring speech Silens slowly reached for a pokeball. "Your not used to being praised are you little fella? How about me and you prove all the doubters wrong and show everyone how powerfull you can be." Dropping the ball in front of the poisonous blob, Silens laughed, "Its not food ok? Please dont eat it, they cost alot of money." (Bucket of 6.6)

0.2 Gulpin, as you can't tell is a rather different Pokemon. Fastidious, snobby and fussy, and has gourmet tastes. He has dreams of eating delicious meals, prepared to excellence! Physically weak and very uncoordinated, Gulpin has a long list of phobias and medical conditions, many of which are clearly psychosomatic. He looked at the ball, inching toward it and dusting it off with a leaf and smelled it several times. With what nose, I don't know. I'd be weary not to startle this little guy again. When extremely stressed, he is prone to panic attacks and fits of hyperventilation which have, on more than one occasion, seen him lose consciousness. But he seems to be of a sound stable mind, but he has taste you see. The poison Pokemon looked up at the trainer and studied him for a moment. Judging his character as a kind fellow, he thought it best to go with his judgment and trust him. He poked the ball several times, unable to get the jazz of the mechanical device. He fussed over it several times, poking, prodding, jabbing and even tackling it. But nothing seemed to work, he looked up at the trainer in the middle of his hissy fit and grumbled. He didn't seem to get how the ball was supposed to get him closer to this trainer. |

(0.3 :gexp) You give poor Gulpin no love =[ Silens stiffled a giggle as poor Gulpin tried as hard as he could to break the secret of the pokeball. It was true that humans found it easy to both release and change the size of their capturing devices, but to pokemon the pokeball was as much of a mystery to them as whether there is a higher being to humans. Reaching forward Silens pressed a small release button on the side of the 'ball. With a hissing noise the ball opened and beckoned to Gulpin to touch it. Aduro watched his body full of anxious nerves, would Gulpin actually join them? And would he be much of an asset? Silens somehow managed to read Aduro's thoughts and with a quick glance that said "have faith" Aduro stopped doubting Gulpins abilities and began trusting in Silens judgement. "Just climb in Gulpin, its as easy as that," smiling Silens patted the open pokeball. (Bucket of 6.8)

02. There was when the Gulpin began to have a mental debate on the consequences of its decision. The human seemed friendly. almost too much so. It was reason enough to be suspicious. What exactly would the device do once he climbed in? what would become of his fate, trapped in this pocket world with little to no assurance that he might ever see the light of day ever again? In the end, the glutton Pokemon just thought, "Aw, fuck it," and dove in. Gulpin = caughted. Yay! |

(0.1 :gexp) The monkey-boy smiled as the green blob, jumped into the pokeball. Snapping shut the ball shook, once, twice, three times then it stopped. Using his tail to pick the ball up Silens released Gulpin and returned Aduro all in one motion. The green form of Gulpin appeared from within the red light. Opening his mouth and letting out a small yawn the poison pokemon looked up at Silens. "Told you it would be safe," Crouching down Silens swirled his finger around in the dirt. 'Hmm a name?' He stared at Gulpin as the pokemon opened his mouth and swallowed the toxic air a name came to Silens' mind 'Esurio.' Tapping the small pokemon on the head to gain his attention Silens spoke quietly as to not startle the jumpy pokemon. "I'm gonna call you Esurio from now on ok." Gulpin made a small bubble and as it popped he nodded. "Ok good, well come on we have to get to Y'orek as quickly as we can." Standing Silens began to walk towards Y'orek, Esurio hot on his heels. 0.2 :gexp. You and your Gulpin traveled along at a merry clip. Things were looking pretty empty out on the Plains for right now nothing really seemed like they wanted to bother with you. You got to the Ravine soon enough, though it looked like quite an obstacle. The land dropped off pretty steeply, and eventually careened into the Barrier Mountains. But you wanted to get Y'orek, which was now much closer on the horizon. You could now see individual, shady buildings. But enough of that. There was nothing in the ravine except the steep cliffs and, wait, what was that?! A Koffing, just drifting along. It puffed out exhalations of gas from time to time, but otherwise just drifted along on its merry way across the plains. You could ignore it and move on toward Y'orek or go and smash its face in or something. Your choice. ![]() Level 16 32/32

(0.2 :gexp) Silens was quick to grab Gulpin as the little pokemon nearly hopped into a Ravine. "Phew that was close Esurio." Gulpin merely created another bubble and bounced happily on the spot. The monkey-boy turned a full 360 degrees once he knew Gulpin was safe, raising a fist he cheered, he had finally found Y'orek town. With a quick heel-click he began to jog in the direction of the base. Sliding to a halt he turned and watched as Gulpin looked down into the Ravine, "Dont you even," Silens was unable to finish the sentence before Esurio jumped. "Son of a." Silens had an unfortunate accident last time he followed one of his pokemon down a hill. Peering over the ledge Silens watched as a Koffing came into plain view, fearing the safety of his new teamate Silens made a quick prayer and leapt down the hill, carefull to keep his footing. As he raced down he reached for a pokeball and in a flash the body of Aduro appeared "Mach Punch Aduro, knock that ball of gas away from Esurio." Panting Aduro launched his body over the newest member to the team and fired a punch at the enemy, jumping back he fell to his knees. 0.2 :gexp. The Koffing watched with vague amusement as you slid down the slope. Originally, she wasn't really going to attack just watch until you would come back up and continue on to your silly human town. But when you released the Monferno who leaped up to smack her one on the jaw, she got a little more agitated. Angry, she opened her mouth and sprayed out a mighty breath of Smog right onto Aduro as he was slacking off. It didn't do a big amount of damage, but enough to annoy. The angered Koffing continued to spray out more smoke, this time a Smokescreen. Now the battle on the top of the ravine was terribly smoky. You and your Gulpin got to the bottom of the ravine without breaking anything, and it was deserted at the bottom. The incline was pretty steep up, though, and it might be a challenge to climb. Of course you were part monkey, so it might not be too much of a challenge. However you perceived it. ![]() 24/28VS. ![]() 27/32

The tiny poison pokemon let a small bubble form in his mouth and giggled as it popped. Turning his attention to the battle, well as much of the battle he could see that is. With the smokescreen covering the majority of the battlefield Silens was forced to use some ingenious thinking. 'Maybe a beacon of some sort?' Silens smiled as a plan quickly ran into his mind, not taking any time to second guess his idea he relayed his orders to Aduro. "Use your ember attack above the smoke," As Aduro flung the coal into the air Silens added another element to the attack. "Use a scratch attack to force them down into the smog," As the muscular monkey leapt high into the air, Silens took a second to evaluate his plan. "Ok once the powered up embers hit Koffing Aduro should be able to see him even with all this smog." He blinked slowly, 'smog?' 0.2 :gexp. The Smog from the Koffing wasn't quite enough to make it explode, but as the monkey started to bat burning embers down into the fray, the smoke began to dissipate. The Koffing, still rightly annoyed, looked through the thinning smoke just in time to be hit in the face by several forceful and burning embers. She tried to yell but coughed instead, foul smoke coming out of her mouth instead of carbon dioxide. One of the embers had been knocked onto her body long enough to burn her, too. Looked like a pretty good attack. Of course, she wasn't done yet. Coughing once more, she inhaled greatly (and expanded like a balloon) before exhaling a barrage of Sludge at Aduro. The monkey-boy had noticed one thing in this match the enemy Koffing has only used ranged attacks it seemed like she was unable to peform close combat manuevures. Aduro breathed quite deep to calm his nerves, even after all the battles he has been involved in he still found himself getting nervous everynow and then. 0.2 :gexp. Thankfully, the Koffing didn't understand human commands, otherwise it would have been more keen to your strategy. She surveyed the Monferno acutely, ready to move her lighter-than-air body in any direction and counter attack. The assault from the monkey was far faster than she could react to, however, and the Mach Punch hit her full in the face. She soared back, unable to adjust her position in the air. She was beginning to fall. She opened her eyes from the impact, ready to spew some Smog at the opponent. Fortunes were turned against her, though, as the Flamethrower made contact with her right as she was attacking. The poisonous gas burned itself, making her fall into the ravine in a ball of flames. 0.2 :gexp. The Croagunk was too slow due to Paralysis to try to defend himself from the quick Tackle attack. It was a relatively light hit, and he rebounded quickly from it. Just as the electric sheep reared back to let loose a large electric charge at him, he clapped his hands and made an outstanding facial gesture. What attack could that possibly be? Astonish! And Blitz was astonished so much so that he froze up and flinched! The poison frog realized his chance and rushed forward, bringing a frog fist down on the Flaaffy. This Revenge attack, powered up by being hit previously, left quite a dent in Flaaffy's HP. Wow, this frog wasn't going to back down without a good fight. ![]() 18/30(Light Screen 2/5, Accuracy -1) VS. ![]() 26/30(Paralyzed.) |

(0.2 :gexp) A grimmace formed on Silens face as the poison frog struck back against Blitz quite aggresively. "Lets do it Blitz, stay focused." Bleeting in pain the white lamb began to rub the fur on his head as blue orb on his tail illuminated. Esurio twitched as Blitz's orb flashed to Silens the flash meant nothing but to other pokemon the light signified a SOS. The blob pokemon began to thrash about wildly unable to hold onto Esurio Silens dropped the poison pokemon. Leaping into the battle Esurio expanded his body and latched himself onto Croagunk, squeezing tightly Esurio began to yawn. Watching as his comrade leapt to his rescue Blitz prepared a thundershock. Calling out to Esurio he instructed that on his call he needed to let go and get away. 0.2 :gexp. And I'm not sure if a pokmon can have two Status Ailments (like paralysis and sleep) at the same time in this game? The Croagunk was surprised by the sudden attack of the Gulpin, and croaked in pain as some of his health was Wringed out of him from the attack. He jabbed his poisoned talon at the Gulpin as it slipped away from him in a kind of Poison Sting attack, but it didn't do much damage. Type match-ups and whatnot. He was just looking over toward the Flaaffy with the blinking tail-light when he shot an electric shot at him. Too paralyzed to dodge, he was jolted well and was left slightly smoking. Coughing and croaking and spluttering, the poison frog looked between the fight and the water. His honor was already broken, so he started to slip toward the water. It was getting away! (0.3 :gexp) Im not sure either, lets just pretend i neved did Yawn then xD Silens mouth dropped open as he witnessed the ferocioty of his little blob pokemon. Expanding his entire body he latched on to Croagunk and began to sap the life from his body. "Perfect Esurio, you too Blitz." The duo both spoke their appreciation through their names, "Gul...ffy" Croagunk turned after the attack and made a beeline for the water from which he came from. "Oh no you dont, you started this battle." Blitz was quick to respond to the retreat of the enemy, with a clap of his woolen hands a bolt of electricty rained down from the heavens. Aimed at the water Blitz hoped that it would shock the frog if he tried to venture into its murky depths. Zero Gen.EXP = because Exlax already gave you some. --- Thunder is extremely inaccurate. The body of is large though. So... I roll the pair of dice I found on AIM Chat. >_> Evens = Strike. Odds = Miss. OnlineHost: Kaizanu rolled 2 6-sided dice: 1 5 1 + 5 = 6. FUN TIMES. The yellow-blue bolt of lightning rips apart the skies and strikes the water. Electricity bounces around the surface, looking for ground to follow. And the frog thing? It goes plop and sizzle. Fwee~! The rain of lightning ceases and the Croagunk is visible on the surface of the water. Back to the sky, facedown in the water. He was either dead or just in shock! Ha. ...Someone shoot me for that one. As it were, it was of critical affect, so regardless of it being dead or just fainted was irrelevant. .5 for'em both, EXP rounded up. |

(0.2 :gexp) (First Freeform, Criticism Welcome XD) The battle hardened warrior strode confidently into the cave, taking careful steps until his eyes adjusted to the darkness surrounding him the warrior breath slowed and with keen sense he strained to hear any sounds of life. He stopped his decent into the cave when a sound rose to meet his tiny ears, with a scowl he slunk into the darkness and watched as the cave dweller slowly walked towards the light. Using stealth was not commonly known by this species but sometimes tact was needed. As the beast entered the light the warrior counted slowly to 10 before venturing further. It took some time to reach the cavern located at the deepest depths of cave but the warrior knew the journey would be worth it. A green glow illuminated the cavern and as the warrior set forth to retrieve the item responsible for the glow an uneasy feeling passed over his body. His muscular arm reached for the jewel and as soon as his hand touched the cool rock the light flickered once, twice and then went out. Startled he quickly tucked the jewel into his belt and navigated blindly through the darkness to the exit. Running a furred hand over the walls he could feel the inscriptions carved into the ancient tomb his heart skipped a beat when he passed over the following words. Take the jewel and forever the responsibility will be yours, protect it forever or your life will be taken in sacrifice for Franticly he ran his hand back and forth over the inscription to find more details about the threat. Words had been rubbed away with age and the rest of the warning could not be deciphered. Throwing caution to the wind the warrior ignored the warning and made a beeline to the exit. Despite the warning he made it safely to the mouth of the cave and with a raised fist he made his way back to the village. Through frozen eyes the tomb keeper watched as the young warrior skittered about his tomb and stole the jewel that kept him frozen in place. Outstretching his arms after a lifetime of imprisonment the keeper dropped to the dusty floor and headed towards the exit. It was important for him to recapture the jewel before it was used to imprison him again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Opening his eyes the now grizzled warrior-turned shaman, attempted to once again forget the memory of how he came into possession of the stone that hang around his neck. That was over 50 years ago but the memory was still as clear as though it happened this morning. Not once has his life been in danger by anything out the normal so the Shaman now laughed off the warning carved into the stone walls. Like other mornings the Shaman awoke early to greet the sun, taking the jewel with him as he undertook this sacred ritual. As he spoke he could sense movement behind him, determined to finish his prayer he ignored the movement. Nearing the end, he was suddenly struck down by a blue and black flash. Rolling down the hill he cautiously rose to his feet his body was not in good of shape as it used to be. The enemy slowly stalked the Shaman as he scrambled back to the village as quickly as his elderly legs would carry him. Clapping his hands a dark aura appeared in front of him, clapping again the aura was sent flying into the back of the Shaman. Sent hurtling through the air the Shaman clung desperately to the jewel. He could not allow this stranger to get his hands on it, finally after 50 years the warning had come for him. Crashing into a hut the Shaman lay still for a moment hoping his powerful opponent would leave him to lay in pain. After a few moments of silence suddenly a clap could be heard, with wide eyes the Shaman desperately tried to scramble from the fallen debris. Ceasing his struggle the Shaman gave into his fate and lay motionless awaiting his demise. Seconds passed then minutes wiping the sweat from his brow the Shaman snuck a peek from under his refuge and to his surprise his assailant had disappeared. In his place stood a group of Primapes, calling out to his saviours the young pokemon were quick to rescue him from the fallen hut. Heading back towards the tomb defeated, the keeper stumbled as he neared the mouth of the cave. Catching himself with a bloodied hand he somehow managed to make his way to the cavern located at the bottom of the tomb. Falling on a casket the keeper reached out with a trembling hand to retrieve a vial. With only a few drops remaining he hoped that its contents could save him once again from certain death. Smashing the vial open the black liquid met the blood on his hand creating dark hue. With a final shudder his body lay still as the liquid began its journey to revitalise his life once again. In a flash of light the body of the keeper began to shrink substantially becoming almost half the size of his former self. Opening his eyes the keeper rose to his feet and like many times before he began his mental and physical preparations to restore his strength to its original level. Being carried back to the village nursing his wounds the Shaman made a silent vow to rid himself of the jewel. For years the Shaman awaited a suitable person to hand the cursed item to, finally the right boy had appeared. In a cane basket the boy was washed up onto a nearby river. Retrieved by Mankeys they carried the human to the village where his fate would be decided. Determined to offload the jewel the Shaman created a false prophecy in which the boy fit perfectly. For seven years the Shaman tricked the entire village into believing his lies, as the years passed the elderly Primape began to doubt that he could ever rid himself of the cursed jewel. Sending the child off on a journey to obtain the Pokemon League Trophy the King requested that the Shaman forge a necklace that would symbolise shame upon the boy and the village, should the child be unable to obtain the item. Breaking the jewel into smaller portions the Shaman hid the pieces inside the bead jewellery. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Walking through the slushy swamps of the Blighted Plains Esurio in his arms Silens was oblivious to the past associated with his necklace. The small poison pokemon in his arms made a gurgling noise a bubble rose from his mouth and popped with a quiet POP. Small particles of liquid fell from the popped bubble. Stopping suddenly Silens jumped from the swampy water to the shore. Shit, something is in there Esurio. Kneeling down he peered closely into the murky water. Unable to see anything Silens stood up straight, continuing down along the swamps edge the man-monkey felt something grab at his foot, lashing out he felt his foot squish against something. Turning he looked down and as the sludge moved further up his leg Silens reached for a pokeball. Releasing Aduro Silens was quick to instruct the monkey to dispose of the Muk before any he could get further up Silens leg. Returning the tired Esurio to his pokeball Silens allowed the tiny poison to recuperate from his first battle. With a vicious punch the sludge pokemon was sent flying back into the water from which he came. Sighing Silens walked along the waters edge, feeling a rush of wind behind him Silens was suddenly sent flying into a nearby tree. Crashing to the ground Silens scanned the area, a blue and black flash could be seen hurtling through the area. Get him Aduro, Mach Punch. The muscular ape watched the pattern of the opponent with keen eyes, waiting for his moment to strike. As the pokemon dashed to the left and right in a zig-zag motion Aduro chose the time to strike. With astounding quickness the monkey hurtled towards the blur. With fist cocked he prepared himself for contact. Striking the opponent in the stomach Aduro smiled slightly as he felt the body of the enemy form around his fist. After a few moments the enemy was catapulted in the opposite direction. Finally the form of his attacker could be seen and Silens identified it as a pokemon known as Riolu. Quickly he searched his dex to find as much about the opponent as possible. Riolu the Emanation pokemon, this pokemon is a fighting type and using its tiny body Riolu is able crest three mountains and cross two canyons in one night. Hes a fighting pokemon Aduro, this is gonna be tough. Aduro and the Riolu stood for a moment staring deep into each others eyes; a pokemon battle was much like a game of chess. It was all about counter attacks and sacrifices. Yes a pokemon could strike first and make the enemy take the first hit, but during the attack the enemy could strike back and inflict massive amounts of damage. Riolu watched as Aduro jumped from foot to foot, his eyes scanned over the enemy and the human. He could sense the jewel was around here somewhere but where? His eyes lay on the necklace around Silens neck; the power from the jewel seemed to be quite concentrated in that area. Time slowed down for the tiny fighting pokemon, using a Quick Attack he hurtled past Aduro and before Silens could move he snatched the beads from his neck. In shock Silens lashed out with his foot but unfortunately the foot fell far short of its mark. As Riolu made his getaway the fire monkey was quick to react. Using another Mach Punch Aduro collected with the head of Riolu crumpling under the swift blow Riolu dropped the beads and fell into the swampy water. Great Aduro, pausing to pick up his necklace Silens turned his back to where Riolu was last seen. In hindsight it was quite a poor decision. A blue paw reached from underneath the muck and grasping the shore Riolu pulled himself to safety. Dripping wet the pokemon bared his teeth and with a savage growl he launched himself at Aduro. Using an open palm Riolu struck the chin of Aduro causing him to flip backwards, as he twirled in the air a handful of coals were hurled at Riolu. Using very nimble feet the fighting pokemon was able to dodge the moves quite easily. Picking the coals up from the ground he threw them back at Aduro, Silens dex spoke as the attack was used, Copycat, this attack allows the pokemon to copy the last move used against them in battle. Despite his resistance to fire the tiny coals still stung as they struck tender flesh. Crying out in anguish Aduro landed softly on his padded feet. As soon as his feet touched the ground the enemy had already launched another attack. With his legs a blur Riolu used a quick attack to send Aduro crashing to the ground. Come on Aduro, dont give in, you have to fight back. Gritting his teeth Aduro rose to his feet and as the opponent prepared to use another Quick Attack the monkey used a Mach Punch. Both attacks missed and for a few frantic moments both pokemon were a blur. Trying to track their movements proved impossible for Silens so instead he tried to think of a strategy against the feisty opponent. Both pokemon were sent hurtling backwards by simultaneous attacks and panting they stood staring at each other. Scanning the damage on each of the pokemon Silens assumed that in their fray he had been able to even up the score. Resorting to an old trick Aduro used an Ember attack above the opponent and as the coals dropped from above he followed up the attack with a Flamethrower. Riolu looked up to and watched as the coals fell; standing his ground the fighting pokemon lowered himself into a more defensive stance. As the flames curled around his motionless body Riolu waited till the flames died down. Shocked Aduros mouth fell open, How could he survive that attack? As the coals rained down upon Riolus still body Aduro let out a ferocious roar. "Endure, by focusing on defence a pokemon is able to survive any attack." Silens' 'dex once again described another attack. Riolu waited for the attacks to cease and then with a smile he sprinted at Aduro, the monkey attempted to intercept his attack with a slash of his claws. Ducking under the attack Riolu lifted his right leg and with a ferocious roundhouse kick he sent the monkey reeling backwards. Wiping his mouth Aduro could feel the strength of the opponents attacks increasing. Sensing the end of the fight was near both pokemon summoned all their power into one final attack, using a Mach Punch Aduro flew towards Riolu with astounding speed. The blue fighting pokemon knew that the fight was over using a quick attack Riolu once again flew towards his intended target. The human. With an outstretched hand Riolu snatched the necklace from the humans hand and with a swift stomp the bead necklace shattered. Wide-eyed Silens fell to his knees as the necklace was broken. Reaching out to Silens Riolu tried to help the human to his feet. Explaining the situation to Silens might help, so without opening his mouth the emanation pokemon used the aura that surrounded him to convey his message. Throughout a series of mixed emotions Silens became aware of the history the jewels in his necklace had and the importance it had in affecting Riolus life. Riolu concluded the story with a simple, I owe you. The final emotion was the most clear of all. Silens could understand how Riolu felt; the young pokemon was finally free of the cursed jewel as was Silens with the necklace. Standing up straight Silens held out a pokeball for the young pokemon. If you wish to Riolu I would deeply appreciate having you join my team. Ooc: Basically Im trying to get a Riolu, if not exp will be fine (Bucket of 14.8)

Im going to give you a little credit since its your first time. But even at first glance, I didnt think it was going to be worth a Riolu. Lets make a run-down on all the things wrong with it: -First of all, a lot of your sentences are run-on. Word cant pick these up easily and cant really note incorrect grammar for really long sentences that are meant to be two separate ones. In this case, YOU NEED TO REREAD YOUR WORK. Every sentence, every word. Only you can pick out the problems in your writing, not some computer program. -You misuse a few words. Again, Word or a Spellchecker cant correct that. You need to consult a dictionary for the correct word to use, as some words may sound alike, but the variation in spelling makes them have vastly different meanings. Example: Decent instead of Descent. Consult last comment for solution. -Your manner of storytelling isnt really impressive. Its more of the typical dictation of events rather than an experience for the reader. The language is flat and not compelling enough to keep interest in reading. You have to make reading an experience to people who are not familiar with the story. Give them a reason to care about reading it. Sure, its about Silens encountering a Riolu and having a sinister history behind his seemingly common accessory. This and that happens, but really, who cares? Riolu apparently has had a tragic history with the pendant, but theres hardly any character to it that can make the audience sympathize with his plight. Likewise, Silens acts like he was reading off a script with all the occurrences with barely any notable reactions (i.e. A Muk grabbing him, or when Aduro was suddenly attacked.). Characters arent just there: you gotta give them emotions, give them life. Theres more than just appearance or what part they play; they need to have depth, act like real living people rather than actors of some over-rehearsed cartoon or movie portrayal. Give them strengths, give them quirks, give them something unique that hasnt been used over a hundred times. And most of all, give them a reason to exist at all. What does Silens plan to accomplish on this journey of his? Why does Riolu even bother to go through all the trouble of getting the cursed jewel? I might have missed it (I ended up ultimately skimming all the parts), but I dont think you mentioned anywhere what exactly this curse is. That, or you havent made it obvious enough to be at all relevant, thus making Riolus appearance and purpose quite small and needlessly random and unimportant. So that makes your final score 3 :exp. Plus a point.Unfortunately, not enough for a Riolu. Just work on what you need to improve on and Im sure youll do better. ^^ ~Taddle |
