DaramReborn
Weedle
Sweeping.

Gods chore to punish sinners.

And he had been stuck doing it and much, much more terrible things for going on five years.

How very... droll.

Daram was sweeping the floor as usual, in his foster home. He had been stuck doing all the dirty work for, as he had stated earlier, five years. Ever since he got adopted the parents wanted nothing more than to get rid of him and spend more time with their newborn, now a five year old. It had been an unexpected pregnancy when they thought the wife couldn't have any more children, so the adopted boy had become a nuisance in their minds. This family was, though not millionaire style rich, better than well off and could've raised two children without batting an eyelash. But no, the biological baby who would no doubt have his whole life cut out for him from the moment he was out of the womb, was far more important and needed 24/7 care so that he could grow up into a spoiled little brat no doubt.

So his "Father" had cut him a deal. Rather than be an actual foster child, he would be their maid. He had to sweep the floors in the afternoon when all others were sleeping and not wake them, while still finishing the sweep so that the floors would be perfectly clean so as not to upset any allergies the paranoid woman he called "Mother" might or might not have had. He had to fix Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner every day, Breakfast being the worst of all as by the time the father got up to go to work, at 6 in the morning, Breakfast was expected to be at just the right eating temperature. He then had to vacuum the carpets in the babies room, help the mother with her knitting hobby when she got to a particularly tricky piece, and do anything else that the man requested. This often meant going to bed at midnight and waking up at 4 A.M. the next day, except on Sundays when the family always went away for the weekend day and left him to collapse into his pathetic bed for a good, solid 24 hour hibernation.

In exchange for all of this, the Father gave the boy a meager minimum wage, a small amount to the father considering his rather large income, as well as a room to sleep in, though he was expected to buy and cook his own food. That last bit wasn't too hard as he already cooked everyone else's. The family was rude towards him and he returned that, sometimes even swiping small little things that would drive the family insane trying to find them, before placing them in another obvious place sometimes, depending on his mood and what it was, causing the family to go nearly insane over why things kept disappearing and re-appearing. Normally he was a carefree guy who loved making friends, but he'd be damned before these people who were so cruel to a fourteen year old who had lost both parents and then been transported into this strange dimension, and then on top of it all into an orphanage to be auctioned off to the parents that wanted him first, would EVER become his friends. More likely they would become the ones he hated forever, or thanked for driving him into the thing he was planning that would make him famous one day. He hoped at least.

However, Daram severely doubted that they could've foreseen what he had planned. That day would be the day he quit. He was sweeping early, just so that he could upset the woman's alleged allergies and get fired, and then say he quit and go to the lab to start off on a Pokemon journey like so many others. Since his salary was barely enough to feed himself, he had been saving up every penny he ever managed to gain extra, cutting corners for years, eating less than he should sometimes, stuffing his bed with cheap materials when it wore out rather than buy newer more expensive bed stuffings, and even sometimes when he took money and then made it re-appear a few days, weeks, or even months later, he would steal a small amount that wouldn't be missed. Sooner or later it would all pay off, and he would be out of the god-forsaken house.

That day came that night as he had planned. After he finished sweeping the family returned home from their Sunday mini-vacation. "Well, I see you've done your sweeping early boy. If my wife so much as sniffs hard because you've stirred up the dust and not gotten it outside you'll be docked a weeks salary." Oh yes, he had forgotten to mention the man's addiction to docking his pay... that was usually when the money started disappearing from the places he knew they hid it. The woman came in holding the baby and a small word puzzle in her hand. "Hm... smart little game here. You have to put the words together with pictures to form words that make a sentence... so far i have " 'Every club's M + a picture of a fire' and that's as far as I have gotten. I think its M'fire. (Pronounced: Muh-Fye-Uhr. Yeah just put a Muh sound in front of the word)" She said.

Daram rolled his eyes as he put away the broom in his room with the rest of the things he used to take care of all his miscellaneous work. "Oh yes because that makes so much sense. Lets use that in a sentence shall we? 'Run run, the house is on M'fire.'" He said, being a little more blunt than usual with his jokes. Under normal circumstances he would simply use well-concealed blows to allow himself a mental chuckle without getting the father mad, but tonight was his night and he could do what he darn well pleased.

"You watch your mouth boy, or you'll be-" The husband began before he was cut off by the wife placing her hand over the man's mouth.

"No honey. I think its time we do what we've been wanting to do for years. I've got a sentence for you little boy. Its 'YOU'RE M'fired.' Now get out. I never want to see your face around here again." The woman said, with a dagger-like glare in her face as she said so. The woman spoke with a hidden rage and calmness at the surface, though her voice did not conceal the venom.

Daram barely reacted to the woman's comment and grabbed his bag. "I've been wanting to leave this dump for years. See you when im on TV as the greatest trainer alive." He said, finishing just as he arrived at the door. Opening it, he took a step out just to turn around at the last second. "Oh and by the way, you can't M'fire me, I M'quit." He said, turning around and exiting the building with a slamming door following his footsteps out of the house quickly.

((Lol, my kinda humor. Good job, keep writing as expertly as this and people will like you around here. I m'do))

With the clothes on your back and a satchel of the money you've been saving from wages and pilfering, you ran on. There was no need to count the coins that jangled in the bag, you already knew there was an even 3600z there from counting it so many times before.

Your running faltered and it turned into a walk as you panted hard through the jovial expression you wore. Victory. Finally, the smell of fresh air whenever you wanted it, no more responsibility, no more dirty looks or snide remarks from your so called "eh, Parents" ((Harvey Birdman Reference?)). Hua-Haa!! Emancipation.

Half way to the lab, a big trailer passed by. You stepped aside as it rumbled past you from behind. As it left, a small box fell out the back through a gap in the poorly-closed garage door. Before you could flag the driver down, it was gone, never to see the parcel again.

With no regrets of taking things that aren't yours, you approached the box and examined it. On the cardboard displayed a hand-held computer device and it's company's logo. Sweet, these things must cost hundreds of Zenny, and it looks like you're getting it for free.

Tucking the PokeTech, as it was called, under your arm, you continued on your way to the Lab.

Things Obtained:
3600z
PokeTech ((the watch thing, of course))

Oh...yeah, and those...uh...

He had that already. And never thought to use it while under the Nazi regime that was his foster parents.

Honestly, I STILL haven't used that yet...ever.

But yeah, you have that too.
