All the Idiots went that way
|
In: Trampled Grass 2 ---> To: Old Hunting Platforms...for no reason, really. But hey! "Freak. FREAK!" I looked up from my spot, leaning against one of the sparse trees that were scattered about the current grassland, watching Morana as she hobbled about, cursing up a storm to show her displeasure at the sudden--could I call it paranormal?--moment that we had just experienced. If something alive had been around, I had the feeling she would have killed it by bludgeoning it alive with a rock. She already had the nerve to run off a trainer of some sort who had come into our presence. I wanted to ask for directions, but with straining a mad Sneasel, and combatting a headache and a feeling of immense jet lag came first. "WHERE THE FLIPPIN' HECK ARE WE?" "Obviously," came the drawl voice coming from an Absol at my right, perched upon a rock beside me, motionless, "If we knew, be assured, you would be the first to know." "Shut it, you freakin' overhyped collector's item!" Morana turned to face him, eyes furious. Castor just rolled his eyes, evaluating her coolly. "I say we go on a killin' spree. You know why?" "Why?" "'cause this is a freakin' conspiracy!" Right... This was going to be a very long day. |

0.2 And then a wild Sentret appeared! Good day and well met, merry travelers! it squeaked blithely, tiny arms and stubby paws outstretched. I come to wish you love and joy throughout your journey! May many bright days and Ho-ohs blessings shine down on you all! And blah blah blah It went on a full-page ramble about more bright, happy, fortunate things it wished for you to encounter on your travels. Wishing you wellin an overly excessive fashion. and as a token of goodwill, may my brethren and I present you with a piece offering! The rodent made a gesture, and a few more smaller versions popped up in the grassland. Each one held a berry in its paws, which they placed quickly and meekly before the group. They all bowed, chanted something inaudible, and went back to the strange fortune-wishing. Sometimes you think you can here certain lines interjected between the merry words like, Please dont hurt us or Maybe shell far for it and well you werent quite sure if you heard right, coming from a mild-mannered forest creature and all- I wonder what Sneasel tastes like Shall someone get the knife, dark one? Or will you be using your own claws? Lv 10-Fanatically determined to please LV 5 x3-Offerin up an Oran, Pecha, and Lum Berry to ye |

All the Idiots went that way

.3 + .1 for modding a sucky post. XD I looked at the multitude of beige colored mammals in front of me, finding myself rather surprised at their number. It wasn't as if I had never seen Sentret before; on the contrary, I had seen many--many more than I could recollect, and a good number of them had been knocked out by my hand. I did feel a little guilty over it, but not much. I did what I had to do for the sake of experience. This group of furry meerkats seemed nice enough, though I always found their kind hard to understand, though I had not been around them much. Sentrets tended to speak with an extremely fast dialect, and it was a language that seemed to rely heavily on pitch to convey their meaning--an attribute of which always gave me a headache. Straight-to-the-point, clear diction for me, please. Of course, maybe I was too used to hearing Morana speak English...if she was speaking English... I never could really tell what language she was using, only that I understood her. I did assume that she liked to switch around a lot, if only to annoy people. The Sentret seemed nice enough though; I didn't see any reason why I should order an assult. They were harmless little creatures for the most part, which, to Morana, meant they were nothing more than extremely life-like punching bags. Perhaps they had ulterior motives, but it seemed wrong to jump to conclusions so quickly--after all: innocent, until proven guilty. I smiled. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. There was no room for doubters here. "Why, tha--" "Now hold on one freakin' moment." I looked at the speaker in question. Castor was doing the same, shaking his head as he lept off his rock and padding towards me. I gave her a very much exasperated "What is it this time?" sort of look. "Who's to say they aren't plannin' to freakin' poison us so that we won't make shimkabobs out of them?" "We weren't going to make shish kebabs out of them in the first place," I responded acidly, hoping the Sentret here wouldn't know what the word shish kebab meant. "They mean well." The berries just looked like a bunch of harmless Oran, Pecha, and Lums to me. "It's all a freakin' conspira--" "Fine." I snapped. "If it bother's you so much... Castor?" He looked at me levelly, sitting on his haunches by my side. "Yes?" "You're familiar with the different types of berries, correct?" He nodded his head. He, unlike some of his kind, was a herbivore. That, of course, was not something he spread around. "See?" I was staring at the Sneasel now. "I'll just have him check to make sure they didn't accidentally give us any unedible ones with any... unpleasant after-effects." Morana sneered at Castor. "Why smell them when you can freakin' see the future?" she growled, arms over her chest. "Why don't you just freakin' use your "inner eye" to see whether they're poisonous or not?" Castor smirked. "Well, you could shut up, but you aren't going to do that because I say, are you?" "Heck no! I mean... Gah. Fine! If you two freakin' want to be buddy buddy with a bunch of squirrel-rats then that's fine by me, but I'm not eating a single piece of their trash." She turned to glare at the Sentret, waving a sharp claw at them. "I'm a carnivore, dang it. Not a vegitarian. One wrong move, and I swear I'll make you all into Sentret Shikabobs. Follow me?" "Just sit down , Morana." My tone left no room for argument. I sighed. Okay. With that aside... "Sorry about that," I sighed, kneeling down to get on eye level with Sentret, locking eyes with the one I supposed was the clan leader. "We're just new here, and lost. Morana's...delirious and out of her mind. Thank you so muc-" Castor cleared his throat. He looked amused, tapping his claws against the dirt. "What?" "You're doing it wrong." "I'm doing what wrong?" "That's not how you accept an offering." "What do you--?" "Just follow what I do." "All right," I said, as he lowered his rich voice into a barely audible whisper. "Get on the balls of your feet. Just crouch," he said, moving back until he looked like some kind of rabbit, balancing precariously, just as I was, and just like they were, on the ends of their tails. "Clap your hands once. Bow. Great. Now, thank them in as archaic and flowery of a fashion as you like." Time to wing it? "I thank thee and I too bless thee with all the unmarred...courage"--Now where was a thesaurus when I needed one? "--and goodwill that the great bird of rainbow feathers can bestow upon thee..." I looked up at Castor. He nodded. "And wish thee a pleasureful trove of berry picking and that the great God Jirachi will give you many wishes and good-fortune as you go upon your merry way."--I could distinctly hear Morana laughing uproariously in the background "Well met, then, fair ground-dwellers and children of Mew. I and my companions accept thy gift and will treasure it as we continue our erstwhile journey to... wherever." I paused. Silence. Then, from the side of me: "Reciprocate." "What?" "It's one's duty to reciprocate with another offering in return for what was given. Equivalent Exchange." He then smiled. "They like shiny things. Or so I remember anyway." He gave me a rather knowing look. "I'm older than you think I am." I reminded myself to ask him how he knew all of this later. I dug into my pocket, pulling out a handful of-oh-maybe fifty glittering zenny coins and lay them right beside the berry pile, and waited for the their reactions to the whole ordeal. I hoped they liked the zenny currency, because it was about the only thing "shiny" that I had. === Current Location: Trampled Grass 2 Heading To: Old Hunting Platforms |

I feel like I shoudl give you a freeform grade. .4 The tiny scout pokemon were true in their intentions It wasn't too often that a traveler and their pokemon didn't simply attack them withotu a second thought. They were sincerely happy that they had met someone that was kind enough to not want to beat the bloody hell out of them. Then, your critters came into the mix. Your evil looking critters. Fearful that you would do the same as every other trainer, they turned and fled, fearing for their lives. You were left alone, as the Sentret troup scattered about in the grass. You could try to chase them, but it would likely be quite time-consuming. Oh... they left their berries... and your zenni. |
