3, 2, 1, make some noise! Neuron pelted onwards, breaking only a light sweat. He was in unfamiliar grounds now, and the excitement of it all fired up the adrenaline in his body. It felt good to be rid of his monotonous training exercises focused on one particular area, like the good feeling of an anime finally moving into its second season rather than continuing to spit out shitty fillers. The first indication of his new surroundings came from beneath his feet. The ground that he was traveling on was no longer the healthy shade of yellowish green that decorated the field outside of Mayflower. Rather, it was a murkier colour, and provided less resistance to his feet than the dirt underneath the long stalks of grass had in the healthy field. His sandals sunk ever so slightly into the ground with every step, making a squelching noise and hindering his running ever so slightly. Then, in the distance to either side of him, he could see monumental silhouettes rise up above his head into the side - he knew himself to be in a valley of sorts. Everything seemed to be on the right track. Even the ground began to rise and fall, as he entered an area of hills. Malral should be up ahead once he hit the lake - and then onwards to Rose Town. 3, 2, 1, make some noise! Currently In: Soggy Hillside Direction: Southwest Heading Towards: Sinklands 1 |

.2 ![]() The ground squelched and sunk with each step, the very air seemed heavy and damp as the surroundings of the valley held the mist close and allowed the land to absorb the water.. Resulting in the mucky mesh which threatened to steal shoes with each step. Pokemon could be seen flicking in and out of sight in the far distance, but never long enough to be identified or encountered... rather, everything seemed rather uneventfull. Atleast... it was until something sharp grasped onto Neurons leg as it stepped into a rather deep patch of earth. Then, something else wrapped around his other leg as the surrounding vegetation began to move, evil eyes glinting as cavernous red maws opened, intending to feast on their newly captured meal. ---------------------------- ![]() Lv 24 48/48 ![]() Lv 24 48/48-Both about to eat j00!- |

(( 0.2 ))Well, so much for making some noise. This is what you get for being stupid and overly excited. Neuron was supposed to be a ninja. A shinobi of the shadows, specializing in stealth and sneaky things. What the hell was this making some noise crap? In any case, whether due to impulse or sheer stupidity, he soon found himself in a new predicament. No, it had nothing to do with losing his shoes, but something fairly more serious. There was a whipping noise and a sudden pain rose from Neuron's leg, causing him to falter in his step and cry out in surprise. A similar sensation than occurred to his other limb, and the ninja soon found himself unable to move. "What the hell?" Neuron shouted, his voice a bit shaky. Indeed, it was very unusual for the ninja known as Neuron Long to panic, but as he felt the vines snake up and around his legs holding him place, he couldn't help but feel a bit of slight discomfort. For some reason, it made him feel like he was about to get tentacle raped like some victim from a perverted anime. Looking down at the things grabbing onto him, they were creatures that he did not recognize - another new species native to the Opaddeka region. There was no time to get out his Poketech to find information on these things now; the plants looked highly suspicious of being carnivorous, and Neuron was not about to let his life end in such a pathetic way here. Quickly recomposing himself, he quickly resumed his battle demeanor despite not being able to move his legs. He still had his torso and his arms - his right hand swiped at his waist and quickly knocked off two Pokeballs from his belt. He cursed himself for not having carried a fire type around with him on this part of his journey, but Kazekage as a wind type should be fine. As for the other Pokemon, he had chosen Mufasa Hoshibi, simply because it was his sole purpose this trip to train the Luxio. Besides, the two had worked together before in a battle against two Rocket upstarts in Mayriver, and their teamwork would prove to be an asset in this dire situation when Neuron might be in grave danger. His other hands brushed his hip and opened up a compartment, his finger curling around a metal loop and pulling out a short metal ninja knife known as a kunai. With the expertise fit only for a shadow warrior, the weapon flicked about his hand, and then he swiped at the vines at his feet angrily. As for the bird and the cat, they knew what to do. The Pidgeotto was a seasoned battler on Neuron's team, and quickly took to the air. With her speed, she knew it was no problem to wait for an opening once Neuron was out of the way to swoop down and attack quickly. As for Mufasa, his timing would take slightly more timing. He did not want to electrocute his trainer, especially since his attack might not be very effective on the plants anyway. But perhaps, due to some stroke of luck, he could paralyze them for the time being, and pull Neuron out of the way. lv 20 "Mufasa Hoshibi":hp: 38/38 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 0 Ability: Beligerence If the opponent is of the same gender as Shinx, then Shinx's Attack rises. ~wearing :focusband~ [using Charge + Thunder Fang] lv 25 "Kazekage":hp: 50/50 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 1 Ability: Keen Eye Pidgeotto's Accuracy can not be lowered by opponent. :atev: +1 :spev: +1 [using Tail Wind + Quick Attack] vs. lv 24 wild:hp: 48/48 lv 24 wild:hp: 48/48 - both about to eat me!! >= - |

.2 ![]() The kunai flicked and flashed with each expert slash, cutting skillfully at the vines entangeling his feet and causing the carnivine to hiss and chitter in discomfort. They would have struck out at their meal if it wasn't for the presense of their new opposition. The wind kicked up by the pidgeotto created a clear circle in the immediate region, allowing Neuron to keep a clear view of his opponents and the battle field. And the swift movements of the pidgeotto startled the carnivines to loosen their grips... but apparently not enough to entirely release yet. The only one that seemed to have a slight effect was Mufasa, though the electrical bites were ineffective against the plants, the sheer shock of having fangs piercing one of them was enough to startle one to release.... In response, the Carnivines acted differently... one tightening its grip on one of Neurons legs, as its vines seemed to start to heal as it glowed. The other also began glowing, but rather focused its attentions on the Luxio in reach, its vines lashing out and striking at the swift pokemon that darted side to side to avoid the blows. ---------------------- ![]() Lv 20 35/40- Charge + ThunderFang - ~Sp. (( 0.2 ))Neuron continued to brandish his kunai fiercely, waving it about arrogantly at the one creature that had let go of his leg in an air of aggressiveness to prevent being latched onto once again at times, while continuing to hack away determinedly at the other to make it let go at other times. In his fury, the ninja had quite almost forgotten his Pokemon. There was no doubt in his mind whatsoever that they would not know what they were doing - he trusted them well enough to know that they are intelligent to make decisions for themselves. But as he continued to slash away at the vines with his knife, a sudden thought occured to the shinobi. Turning to look backwards over his shoulder almost pleadingly, he shouted his train of thoughts. "Change of plans, team!" he called out hoarsely, "Mufasa, you're gonna have to Bite onto this thing while Kazekage rest up and use a Gust. Get this darned thing off of me!" It was no genuine plan of course. Not only would this combination of attack work better on the plant types, it was probably better to gang up on one of them before trying to tackle the other. The two Pokemon hastened to do their trainer's bidding. With the Luxio holding on to the enemy firmly, the Gust attack should be more than enough to pull the human apart from the Pokemon. lv 20 "Mufasa Hoshibi":hp: 38/38 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 0 Ability: Beligerence If the opponent is of the same gender as Shinx, then Shinx's Attack rises. ~wearing :focusband~ [using Bite] -sp. def +2- lv 25 "Kazekage":hp: 50/50 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 1 Ability: Keen Eye Pidgeotto's Accuracy can not be lowered by opponent. :atev: +1 :spev: +1 [using Feather Roost + Gust] vs. lv 24 wild:hp: 44/48 lv 24 wild:hp: 40/48 -sp. att +2- -still has me!- |

0.2 Kazekage was confused. She felt absolutely fine, not a scratch on her... yet Neuron wanted her to Roost? She couldn't fathom why, but, an order was an order, and she backed her wings and landed, settling down and going through the motions. Mufasa meanwhile darted forward and clamped his jaws on the carnivine holding his master. The plant flinched and shuddered, and the vines that entangled Neuron went slack, freeing the ninja entirely. Kazekage thought she'd had about enough of pointlessly settling around, and with a mighty wrench of her wings, hurled a lashing vortex of wind at the carnivine, tearing at its soft plant flesh and knocking it windward like a punching bag. The other carnivine, angered at his partner being so mistreated, reached out with vines of his own, and wrapped them around Mufasa's legs and neck. It couldn't pull him off, he teeth were clamped too tight, so it opted simply to twist him around, Wringing him Out fit to snap his spine like a twig. That made him leg go, and how. Both carnivines drew some vitality into themselves from their planted roots. And exchanged high fives over the nearly-broken body of Mufasa. High leaves, that is. ((Haha. Yeah, I noticed the 38hp thing while I was updating my profile yesterday. I must've forgotten to update the hp the last time the Luxio leveled. Thanks for clearing everything up York. 0.3 :gexp)) Neuron stumbled slightly by the sudden release of his enemy captors, falling forwards to the ground. He shot out his hands quickly to break his fall, and supporting himself with his one arm, he swept up the broken body of his Luxio as he leapt backwards away from the fray to prevent being caught yet again. Laying the body of his Pokemon downwards gently, he fumbled at his waist for the respective Pokeball to return Mufasa. He could see the amount of pain the creature was in, and he felt a crushing sense of guilt of having been careless enough to have caused it. He should have known the little cat Pokemon was not ready for a full scale battle like this yet - Cerberus the Mightyena would have proved to be a much better choice in this situation. After all, he had been the bird's partner before Mufasa's entry into Neuron's team. But as the trainer finally found the orb and tried to shoot the returning beam at his broken Pokemon, the Luxio mustered up an amount of strength from who knows where and dodged the beam. Giving a confused look, Neuron tried yet again, but Mufasa had avoided it yet again. Then speaking in his own language, it growled and roared angrily at the human. Neuron can only guess at the meaning, but he was pretty sure he had a pretty good grasp of it. Moved by his Pokemon's words, he knew there was no way as a trainer that he could refuse to give the Luxio this chance. He knew that ever since the Luxio had joined his team as a Shinx, it had felt inferior to the rest of his comrades, and had been always going out of his way to prove it to the human trainer. And this instance was probably no exception. It was only fair to let the Luxio fight to the end, even if it meant a possible defeat on the cat's part. "Very well then," Neuron said, his respect for his newest Pokemon growing by the second. Turning to the bird, he decided that this was a time where his guidance was needed in the battle. He had to protect Mufasa at all costs, and he knew that speed was on his side. "Long ranged attacks, both of you. Kazekage, keep Mufasa covered, try to take the hits for him, will you?" The Pidgeotto didn't reply, but Neuron knew where her loyalties lie. She was the strong silent one, but the ninja quite distinctively remembered that she, too, always seemed to want to prove herself to be a mighty warrior to Neuron. She would respect her younger partner, and protect her. She swooped down and landed in front of the Luxio. Her large wingspan should be enough to shield Mufasa from any damage. Then, both prepared to attack with their projectiles. .3 ![]() The two Carnivines focused their attention on the downed Luxio, wanting to finish off the opponent... atleast until they found themselves blocked by the pidgeotto, as it cut loose with a sharp gust, kicking up ground and muck into the air. However, the ingrained carnivines would not be so easy to blow away as all that. Luxios body charged up, building up electricity... it may have been damaged, but it wasn't going to allow that to stop it from trying to take down its opponents as he charged forward and lunged at the carnivine, slamming into it and imparting all of its electrical force...... only to have the vines wrap around its body and squeaze out the last of its life as it dropped into unconciousness. The Carnivine then curled up, its body covering the luxio as it began to draw the black and blue pokemon into its maw to begin feeding... the other focusing its attention on the pidgeotto as it lashed out with wringing vines, but fortunately the quicker pidgeotto managed to just dodge the deadly vines. Now a tough decision had to be made.. with the carnivine covering the luxio, it could not be called back, and would probably soon lose its life to the circle of life. However, to rescue it, would mean getting within arms length of the other, which had the same fate in mind for the human and the bird......... (( 0.2 ))Well, that didn't work out in Neuron's favour. The ninja was visibly upset this time, knowing that he had stupidly allowed the Luxio to charge in towards his undoubted fate. It was a mistake on his part - and he knew that. That was what made the guilt in the human trainer even worse than it would have been. But it was no use crying over spilled milk right now, since the situation was still rather dire with the unconcious Mufasa still in the jaws of one of the wild Pokemon. Cursing under his breath repeatedly, Neuron knew he could only learn from his mistakes so he knew not to make the same ones next time. It was time to shake things up and do things up to the standard of Neuron Long. For some reason, the ninja had been making one silly mistake after another in this fight, and it just wasn't about to cut it. From an objective standpoint, he certainly deserved to be on the losing side of this fight. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he was ambushed suddenly by things unknown to him - but this hardly made for an efficient argument. He should be trained enough by now to expect the unexpected and adapt to his situations accordingly. Reaching a gloved hand into the small backpack he had hugging his body, he drew out an empty Pokeball along with detaching Mufasa's Pokeball once more. It would not be the first time he used this tactic - it was one of Neuron's favourite tricks in the book. It was clear that with the multitude of annoying tentacles about, it would be hard to recall the Luxio, but there was no doubt in Neuron's mind that the Carnivine was in a weakened state that was ready for capture. Even if it couldn't be capture, the disruption should be enough for it to let go of Mufasa for the human trainer to return it. Biting onto the kunai in his hand through the mask, he mumbled out through mask and metal to the bird. "Don't hold back. Kill the healthy one. I'll take care of this one." And then with a Pokeball in each hand, Neuron went to work. --- used on Carnivine 2 lv 20 "Mufasa Hoshibi":hp: 0/40 ~wearing focusband.png~ *Fainted, Blocked from Recall, about to become fertlizer* lv 25 "Kazekage":hp: 50/50 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 1 Ability: Keen Eye Pidgeotto's Accuracy can not be lowered by opponent. :atev: +1 :spev: +1 [using Gust @ Carnivine 1] vs. lv 24 wild:hp: 48/48 *Trying to Wring Out Pidgeotto, but not reaching* lv 24 wild:hp: 10/48 -sp. att +1- *eating Mufasa* |

.3 ![]() The carnivines teeth began to sink into the blue and black fur as it released enzymes to start to break down the meat the moment the pokeball hit it in the back of its head... There was no time for reactions as the sphere did its job, breaking down the plant monsters physical state into small molecules and transferring it to the compact storage device inside, pulling it away from its meal. Mufasa laid on the ground, heavily damaged.. having taken alot of serious wounds, but looked like he would survive now that his unconcious form was removed from danger. The pokeball landed in the muck with a wet squish, sinking a little before stopping halfway down in the greenish brown marshlands. The other carnivines attention was still focussed on the pidgeotto, as the winds being kicked up around it dealt painful damage, but its connection to the marsh kept it healed as well.... Suddenly, there was a loop, as one of Pidgeottos feet got caught by an extending vine and with a sudden jerk, it was pulled in close for more of the vines to begin wrapping around. (( 0.3 ))The ball struck the plant, and transformed it into the energy suitable for storage in the technological spheres. With the jaws of his captors suddenly becoming confined energy, the limp body of Mufasa fell to the floor of the marshlands with a soft plunk beside the sinking Pokeball. Neuron hastened to work the other Pokeball in his hand, returning the unconscious lion Pokemon before its body could be used against him yet again in this situation. But the danger wasn't over yet, and Neuron's attention was quickly demanded in another area as a surprised squawk came to his ears. He knew that Kazekage was a bird who was never vocal, and to give a sudden alarmed call would mean something. To his drowning disappointment, the ninja saw his prized raptor falling prey to the clutches the other plan. He groaned. Neuron could positively shout and scream like a little kid throwing a tantrum about not getting ice cream. He certainly felt that way. He was letting history repeat itself - first himself, then Mufasa, and now Kazekage. The re-occurrence of the situation was driving the ninja nuts, and he was bent on stopping it at all costs. Surely, the wild carnivorous plant - which the Neuron finally realized he still hasn't had the brains to pull out his Pokedex to find information of yet - had the ankle of the bird, but that was not the end all of things. The Pidgeotto's talons were for striking only - it was in the wings where her strength lay. Neuron quickly shouted encouragement to his bird of prey. "Use your wings, fly upwards! Leave him no choice but to either uproot himself or let go of you!" The ninja knew that if it was a battle of strength, the bird should be the victor. "Once you have him, roost somewhere safe, and send gusts after gusts of wind at him!" The shinobi was in a fury now. He would tear this remaining plant to shreds before he headed for Rose Town. --- Tailwind 4/5 lv 25 "Kazekage":hp: 40/50 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 1 Ability: Keen Eye Pidgeotto's Accuracy can not be lowered by opponent. :atev: +1 :spev: +1 [using Feather Roost + Gust] *Bind'd, Turn 1* vs. lv 24 wild:hp: 39/48 |

.3 The Carnivines mouth spread open wide, trying to pull the feathery victim into its maw, even as Kazekage would beat her wings... tugging hard on the vines that grabbed her feet, which would squeaze harder and harder, painfully. Soon the Carnivine was stretched hard, as if on the rack between its vine network in the ground and its meal. Eventually, it chose to release the bird as it fell back to the ground. Rest was direly needed for Kazekage, as roosting gave her the chance to regain her breath, even as the Carnivine would move closer and closer, its roots carefully moving in and out of the ground to allow it to move while still keeping it ingrained into the nutrient rich soil... Probably due to all the rotting plant matter deep in the marsh. Soon the winds began to kick up once more, buffeting the Carnivine as its leaves went to cover itself, having to endure the painfully sharp wind while trying to position itself closer, its very form seeming to swell as it prepared itself. -------------------------- Tailwind 5/5 lv 25 "Kazekage":hp: 50/50 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 1 Ability: Keen Eye Pidgeotto's Accuracy can not be lowered by opponent. :atev: +1 :spev: +1 *Bind'd, Turn 2, Released.* vs. lv 24 wild:hp: 31/48 ~Ingrain, Sp. (( 0.3 ))Neuron watched as the bird struggled with the plant, threatening to tear it apart if it insisted to let go of neither it's life returning base nor it's captive victim. As the raptor finally succeeded and caught the current and rose into the air, Neuron tilted his head to follow Kazekage as a satisfying smile crept onto his face. Now, let's get into business. He had turned the situation around. For now, only, of course - who was he to second guess what the hands of fate would do to him if he became too arrogant of his own skills? He knew despite having finally be rid of all immediate danger, the fight was long from over, and despite Kazekage's powerful advantage over his wild enemy, as long as the plant had his roots in the marsh, the battle was going to take longer than anticipated. Of course, the ninja knew that he could finish this once and for all by sending out more Pokemon to outnumber the foe, but that was hardly his style of battling, and it definitely wasn't Kazekage's style of battling either. He knew that the bird's pride was strong, and as a trainer, there was no way he could jeopardize his relationship with the Pidgeotto for a little time. Kazekage knew that she would eventually be the victor, and would no doubt prefer to not get help from anybody else, and Neuron would let it stay that way. However, with the bird attacking from a distance up on her roost, Neuron needed a certain wall of defence. He would not bring out a Pokemon, yet, but he had to be ready. A Pokeball rolled into his hand, and the other quickly held the kunai knife out in front of his face as the ninja assumed a defensive stance. Meanwhile, the bird went to work yet again. --- Tailwind 5/5 lv 25 "Kazekage":hp: 50/50 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 1 Ability: Keen Eye Pidgeotto's Accuracy can not be lowered by opponent. :atev: +1 :spev: +1 [using Gust] vs. lv 24 wild:hp: 31/48 |

Green vines snapped out, launching towards the pidgeotto to grapple once more, once again managing to catch hold even from the long distance, and squeaze, but this time Kazekage was able to move to keep her wings free so she could continue buffeting the carnivous plant with her attacks. ------------------- ![]() Lv 25 40/50 ~Bind, Turn 1~ Vs ![]() Lv 24 20/48~Ingrain, Sp. (( 0.2 ))It was at times like this that Neuron wished he had focused more on giving his Pokemon an elite move pool rather than not spending any zenni on such matters and hoping his Pokemon would gradually learn all the moves he wanted to have naturally. Looking up at the struggling bird, there was not a doubt in the ninja's mind that Kazekage would be the ultimate victor, but in how near the future it was, nobody could tell. He was in a hurry. He needed to get the Rose Town. Whatever the Samson Salsbury's Cracking Cryzanthum thing on the Poketech had been about, it had been long enough since the last episode that Neuron was sure other trainers had gotten there by now and started the action. If he wanted to slip his hand in before it all ended, he would have to finish up things here quickly. "Come on," Neuron muttered through gritted teeth as he continued to watch the raptor struggle above. --- lv 25 "Kazekage":hp: 40/50 :exp: 1.1/1.5 :happiness: 1 Ability: Keen Eye Pidgeotto's Accuracy can not be lowered by opponent. :atev: +1 :spev: +1 [using Feather Roost + Gust] vs. lv 24 wildhp.gif: 20/48 ~Ingrain'd, sp. att. +2~ |

The Rocket That Burns The Heavans Red
|
(( Ninja-Fast-Forward-Frame-Uuuuuuuu!!! *Poof* )) .3 ![]() The battle continued on, with the two fierce pokemon fighting for victory... Kazekage fighting for her pride and the respect of her partner/owner, and the carnivine fighting to get its meal, which seemed to really be more trouble than it thought it was worth. Nonetheless the battle seemed to fill with the carnivines vines constantly able to catch up with the pidgeotto, but the more skilled bird managing to break away and get enough time to recover her health and deal minor damage to the carnivine, which most of which would be healed by its ingrained stat. As time wore on, the battle soon came to a close, as the carnivine collapsed back into the muck with x'ed out eyes, having battled to its extent... Though it would probably revive itself before too long through its roots, for now it was too exhausted from hunger to continue batteling. --------------- (I took the hint, and just assumed the rest. Hope thats okay) ;) Kazekaga gains 1 and has full health.

(( HAHAHAHA...thanks a bunch Met. I don't know why I didn't say it explicitly, but glad you took the hint. Maybe you're tired of modding this, too. xD 0.2 ))The carnivorous plan finally fell apart, and Neuron did not even give it a second look. There would be time to study the captured one with his Pokedex later when all the action at Rose Town was done. Right now, he had been set back enough already - it had been a long while since the last episode and Samson's online plea for help had aired. While it was nice that he had finally gotten out of the area of Mayriver and walked onto these unfamiliar surroundings, he had been ambushed so soon by the wild plants that he had not gotten very far. He knew that he had to press on in the direction he was going until he hit a lake, upon which he would have to turn left on its shore to follow it Malral District. After that, there was still a stretch to go before he arrived in Rose Town. He had to hurry, both for his sake and his Pokemon's sake. After all, Mufasa was still knocked out unconcious and only when he arrived in Malral could he change that. Before the enemy Pokemon had hit the ground, an expert flick had stowed away botht he kunai and Pokeball in his hand, flicking out Kazekage's Pokeball instead. His legs moved instantly, pelting onwards in the direction he had set out for. His arm flung back to return the Pidgeotto that was no doubt still roosting somewhere above him. Then, with a determined face, Neuron continued to run southwest. Currently In: Soggy Hillside Direction: Southwest Heading Towards: Sinklands 1 |

(( 0.2 ))The ninja skidded to a halt dangerously as the muck beneath his feet swirled and rise up into a stinking pokemon that he was all too familiar with. To avoid running into it's all too inviting embrace, Neuron had to dig his one heel in and step awkwardly to the side, the sinklands below him threatening to tear his sandals off less he tried anything that abrupt again. He didn't have time for this, but the shinobi wasn't one to ever turn down a chance in the wild to better his Pokemon - his only option now was to take care of things smoothly and fast. Hopefully, this would not prove to be as tedious a task as the previous run-in with the carnivorous plants had been. Grimacing, Neuron realized yet again what a fool he had been to let his Shinx enter into a hopeless battle in the last encounter. This would have been the perfect exercise for the rising Luxio, but with him fainted, Neuron would have to settle with asking the aid of somebody else. But the ninja was at a loss of who to choose. But then, a smile crept across his lips, though unseen by anyone else. Of course, if it was a quick battle he wanted, who else to trust but the one that had been through thick and thin with him ever since he started? It had been awhile since the two had worked with each other - this little fight would serve as a good get-together for the human trainer and his prized starter before they dived head-first into dealing with monsters. A quick slight of hand and the Pokeball was flicked off from the belt at Neuron's waist. Hitting the sinklands once, the water typed popped out, grinning her always ready mischievous smile for the ninja trainer. "Welcome back old friend," he replied warmly, "You know what to do." (( 0.2 ))An exploding tag would be perfect just right about now. That was the angry thought that crossed the ninja's mind the sticky goo substance that formed the better part of the wild Pokemon's body slowly crept up his body to cover it. It proceeded to do something to his mouth, but whatever it had attempted was foiled - Neuron wore a ninja mask covering the lower part of his face and most significantly, his mouth. Never once did the shinobi foresaw that it would serve as protection in such an occasion. He only wore it usually to keep himself unknown from other trainers. Nevertheless, he couldn't believe that he had landed himself in other sticky situation - literally. He was almost having second thoughts about venturing into Rose Town - almost. Ever since he had ventured out of the grassy area that laid just outside of Mayriver, he had encountered nothing but Pokemon who loved nothing more than grabbing hold of him, whether it was to lick him, eat him, or rape him. Neuron was seriously grossed out. But the anticipation of adventure at Rose Town kept the shinobi going still. For now. He needed to get this battle over with, and fast. What was a little water to him? Keeping tabs on where his own Pokemon was, he flung himself at her before the Grimer could creep up over his eyes to block even his eyesight. The water gushed like nothing else, and the Grimer moaned in pain. Well, this is kinky, he thought. If he were any other Pokemon, that blast would've thrown him off. But he was a Grimer. A Grimer that loved raping ninjas. Hot sexy ones. Neuron was it. His ability to hold on stickly to anything helped him this time. The sweet sweet ninja was still in his grasp, and even a Wartortle couldn't stop it. His head turned back though and he winked at the female turtle: Wanna join in? And at the exact moment, Disable. (( 0.3 ))What to do, what to do? Neuron thought in his mind frantically as the Grimer oozed every bit of the icky substance that was his body onto Neuron, most definitely invading more of his personal bubble than the ninja could take. But what really could he do? For once, the ninja found himself at a loss and was somewhat panicking for his life. He wasn't exactly an innocent virgin when it came to adult material, but never in his life did he imagine his first being something like this - bondage by a blob of muck called Pokemon. Not only was cross-breeding between Neuron and the Pokemon completely wrong already - the ninja was quite sure that damn thing was male. "DAMNIT!" Neuron screamed, completely flipping out for the first time in his life. "BITE THIS DAMNATION! BITE IT, I SAY, BITE IT!!!" Despite his overly panicked reaction - one would be surprised to find that even this order had taken some thought. As mentioned, Neuron was no newbie to the adult scene - he knew that those who seek discomforting pleasures in such sexual activity would only be more susceptible to flinching when being bitten. Neuron could only hope that this was the case with this particular hormone-driven Grimer. --- lv 23 "Stalker":hp: 46/46 :exp: 0/1.5 :happiness: 3 Ability: Torrent Multiplies Wartortle's Water Type moves by 1.5 when its life is low. :atev: +2 :dfev: +1 :saev: +1 :spev: +2 :sdev: +1 ~wearing tutu made of melted :mysticwater~ [Using Withdraw + Bite] *def. +2* vs. lv 24 wild:hp: 40/48 *likes to rape ninjas* Sticky Hold: Holding Neuron now <3 |

.3 ![]() Stalker was about as livid as Neuron was at this point, there was a certain sense of pride between a trainer and a pokemon, and seeing her closest partner being taken advantage of by this pile of sludge only rose the hatred in her. At the orders she nodded and charged forward, jumping up and onto her trainer as she bared her fangs and sunk it into the back of the Grimer in an attempt to tear it off... The Grimer meanwhile howled out in pain, its body begining to liquidate as it clung on tightly, however begining to melt its body into the wartortles face as it had both caught now, though now with Stalker and Neuron pressing faces suggestively close. Meanwhile, there was the sound of squishing and voices. "I say, Eleanour, Rose Town ought to not be far now! !" Came the elderly voice, as the figure of two people made their way through the sinklands. A couple, quite elderly by their appearance, and each decked out for traveling with huge backpacks and walking sticks. Suddenly they both stopped, as the elderly man and woman stared at the sight before them... A ninja standing ankle deep in muck, stock still with a grimer apparently humping his face and a wartortle looking like it was kissing the backside of the grimer. "Tch tch.. and here I thought Ninjas were such nice and respectable boys, Harold." The elderly woman said, shaking her head as she began walking. "Positively disgraceful.." (( 0.3 ))Disgracing was just about the word Neuron would use to describe the situation right now, except that if he had been the one putting it into words, there would have been a lot more swearing. The ninja couldn't believe his ears. What in tarnation was wrong with these two old fogeys? Here they were, talking so casually about him being disgraceful when one would think that the first thing to occur on their aged minds was to positively help the poor kid who had two freaking Pokemon stuck to his face. And yet, the bastard and bitch - for that was the only way to describe them now - walked on as if taking a honeyfuckingmoon stroll, throwing insults at a ninja as if it was something they see regularly. If Neuron's body wasn't shaking from the Grimer's violating efforts, it was now from rage. But before anything happened, the ninja yelled out and fell forwards, thrusting his arms out to catch himself. He was glad that Stalker had been as fumed as he was about the situation, but it really didn't help when you suddenly have a turtle shell latched to your face - the weight of it had brought the ninja crashing down, almost slamming the poor Wartortle on her back. The old couple definitely chose the wrong time to ridicule the ninja. It was a real silly notion on their part, really - since when were old couples a fight for ninjas? If the shinobi chose to attack them, he could practically maul them without breaking a sweat. Now Neuron was normally a reserved shinobi who knew how to hide his emotions, but he also held a certain pride as being a ninja. Despite what he had done in the past, this couple was going to pay. Big time. Throwing the weight on his right arm, his left arm reached around his back, groping his body to feel where his Pokeballs and kunai holster were. Taking one respective item out of each, he managed to yell out, "Cerberus, thief on that fucker and see if you can get me anything useful!" before he breathed in the toxic fumes that emitted from the sludge creature on his face and almost puked. --- lv 23 "Cerberus":hp: 46/46 :exp: 0.9/1.5 :happiness: 1 Ability: Intimidate Upon Mightyena's Entry into Battle, all opponent's Attack Stats are lowered. :atev: +1 :spev: +1 [using Thief on old lady] lv 23 "Stalker":hp: 46/46 :exp: 0/3 :happiness: 3 Ability: Torrent Multiplies Wartortle's Water Type moves by 1.5 when its life is low. :atev: +2 :dfev: +1 :saev: +1 :spev: +2 :sdev: +1 ~wearing tutu made of :mysticwater~ ~Stuck on Neuron's face~ *def +3* [using Withdraw + Bite] vs. lv 24 wild:hp: 34/48 Sticky Hold: Holding Neuron now </3 ~bitten~ |

Blood trickled from her mouth. Her husband shook a fist at the ninja, as Cerberus brought the bag back. LV35 ![]() 70/70-Using Psychic The Slowking tried to use his Psychic powers to stop that Mightyena, but of course, Psychic attacks won't work on these Dark Pokemon. Neuron could hear the old man yelled with fury. And maybe, if he were angry enough, he would ask that Slowking to use his Psychic attack on Neuron's... partners... AKA Grimer. The old lady was making no response to whatever the old man was doing. Was she dead? Cerberus moved quick, his teeth letting go of the purse so Neuron could take hold of it. It felt like it was almost empty. Neuron had the bag now, but the Grimer was still stuck on him. Not his face though. The sneaky poison Pokemon was sliding downwards, towards his pants. (( 0.3 ))Despite the body of sludge having stopped attacking his facial area, Neuron was still unable to see or breathe much. His hands groped wildly in mid-air as his ears tried to unravel the situation for him to the best of their ability. It was only a few seconds after the shrieking of the old woman, the jeering of the man, and the padding of paws on the ground that Neuron felt a fistful of hair to his left hand. After a few seconds of confused fumbling, Cerberus finally managed to guide the purse to his hand and the ninja plunged his right hand inside to see what he could find despite its weight suggesting that it might possibly be empty. Unable to stand the accusing taunts much longer, Neuron finally shot back at the man. "What are you, a moron? Why carry around a damn purse when you don't keep anything in it?" The shinobi took a deep breath - having only just realized his face was finally free of the sex deprived Pokemon that was still assaulting him - and coughed. It reeked insanely of dirty cloth, for that had what his mask had become. The ninja still had his ninja pride. He wasn't about to let a couple of old fogeys beat him to his destination. Even if it was unjust, even if it was not courteous, even if he was disrespectful, he would teach these aged fossils what it meant to laugh at a ninja. Finally being able to see what was going on, he struggled to take a firm stance and faced off squarely against the old man and his summoned Pokemon and hopefully collapsed partner. Of course, the Grimer was still trying to invade his body, now going for the most private of parts, but Neuron was not about to let that affect his mindset for the battle at hand. (( 0.2 ))"What the blue blazes do you THINK I'm freaking doing?" Neuron retorted back just as threateningly, swinging around his kunai rather than a silly cane. The Grimer was now advancing so closely to where he would preferably be not touched by anything less than the smoothest of female skin that it was making the ninja absolutely miserable with fury and discomfort. He was already edgy, and the stupid old man was pushing against his nerves. Adding oil to the fire, if you will. The humility of the situation - Neuron was intending to return it in full to the old couple. It was impossible to describe the emotions of the shinobi, but the combined effect of everything was going to make this dormant volcano of a Neuron erupt. Still brandishing his kunai dangerously and trying as best as he could to ignore the efforts of the Grimer on his body, he continued to shout, "If you were twenty years younger, I would still be whipping your sorry wrinkly butt, you overly pompous old Crobat!" He hoped Stalker knew what she was doing. It had seemed that the Grimer had slowed down in his advances somewhat, but definitely not enough. Neuron was starting to feel dangerously violated, and hoped in tarnation that Stalker would make it in time. For all she was worth, the Wartortle hoped for the same thing, and chomped down once more at the most sensitive part of the Grimer with all her might. Cerberus, meanwhile, staggered back, dazed and his head ringing. The blast of water somehow seemed to have messed with his perception of things, as points in his vision began growing in and out of focus in pulse with something. But even in this distorted state of sound and sight, the canine still had one more sense to rely on - smell. After all, what kind of a Mightyena would he be if he didn't rely on his nose? He closed his eyes and laid his ears back to shut out the sound, concentrating in the different odours that were coming to him. Then he got ready to pounce. "Why the hell are his blazes blue, anyway?" .3, Deathly sorry for the wait. But, it's obvious nobody else is going to follow this up... Stalker was wise beyond her years, and clamped her jaws down upon the yucky Grimer one more time. It's grip loosened from around you, and it fell to the muddy ground in a heap of slimyness (your turtle and mutt get .5 each and stuff). Now, the real problem was this old man and his Slowking. 'Get that young whipper snapper!' He shouted. Slowking nodded, and erupted with another stream of water directed at Mightyena. The attack hit, sending Mightyena back a bit. But, the hound was more resiliant than the old fellow gave it credit for, as it leapt through the air, wrapping its jaws around the psychic type. Rather, it tried to. But, it was still dazed, and missed the target, clamping down on some mud instead of Slowking. ![]() ![]() level 23 22/46 *attack +2 *confused* tutu![]() level 23 46/46 *defense +7* vs ![]() ![]() level 35 32/70 *property of old guy* *special attack +2* |

(( 0.2 ![]() Thanks a bunch, Jolty. Though I've been quite busy this weekend that I haven't had time to post or anything myself, anyway. )) As soon as the slimy mass slopped away from his waist and down his legs onto the ground, the trainer took a couple of steps back. The farther away he was from the sexually invading substance that almost took him without consented, the better. Neuron shuddered; he could still feel the last remains of the gooey body clinging to the legs of his pants, and he determinedly shook them, trying to fling it off. Even when it was clear that the ninja was just being a tiny bit too paranoid, he kept up the action - it was simply a bit too hard for the ninja to just forget about the whole ordeal. It had been way too close. Cerberus, meanwhile, his sight still disoriented to the point that everything was becoming a blur, tasted the disgust of the swamp muck. Wincing and shutting his eyes in disapproval, the hound lowered his head and spat forcefully, trying almost as hard as his trainer had to get the stuff out of his mouth. But the Mightyena did not dwell as long on that action as Neuron had. Rather, being outraged by the embarrassment of the situation for himself, Cerberus determined to do better. Shaking his head to clear the failure of the last attempt out of his mind, he rose his head into the air and wiggled his nose in another attempt to attack. Last but not least was Stalker. She was wise beyond her years, and understanding her trainer and good friend Neuron's urgency to get to Rose Town, she knew that she must now turn her attention to her comrade's battle and aid him in finishing the interrupting Slowking off. Charging in alongside the Mightyena, the Wartortle opened her clamp-like jaws once again, to feast themselves on what was hopefully better tasting meat than the Grimer had been. --- lv 23 "Stalker":hp: 46/46 :exp: 0.5/3 :happiness: 3 Ability: Torrent Multiplies Wartortle's Water Type moves by 1.5 when its life is low. :atev: +2 :dfev: +1 :saev: +1 :spev: +2 :sdev: +1 ~wearing tutu made of :mysticwater~ *def +6* ((6 is max'd out already, isn't it?)) Cerebrus meanwhile managed to land a good bite, sinking its fangs deep into the pinkened skin, causing the slowking to blink and glance down at the black pokemon biting at it, wondering if it should be feeling pain right now. "You show them, Slowking!! No young upstart rude perverted ninja boy is going to show us up!" The man would y ell. (( 0.2 ))As soon as it was decided who the victor of the Pokemon side of the battle was, Neuron launched himself at the old man, snarling viciously. The humiliation of the old couple's words, whether intended or not, seemed to have pushed the already sexually assaulted and heavily embarrassed ninja beyond any sort of reasoning limit. His eyes were ablaze; they sparkled mercilessly as the shinobi's gloved hands were flung forwards groping through the decreasing distance between themselves and the old man's neck. But before the projectile path of his fury through the air could be complete, Neuron met with a certain obstruction that held on firmly to the pant of his legs. Even as the human trainer stopped aghast mid-flight and fell with a spluttering splat onto the dirty swamp ground, the stout Wartortle kept her paws firmly on hold of Neuron's leg. Stalker jabbered away at him, and though the ninja couldn't understand, perhaps the sound of reasoning from a friend's voice had calmed him. Realizing that his ultimate goal was to make haste towards Rose Town, he shouldn't let such petty things interrupt him and cause him to lose one heckuva chance of a life time. After all, the ordeal was over, was it not? Ultimately, his body was safe from the pillaging from the Grimer's body, and what was an old fool's words to his ears? He lived through his actions, not what others said about him. Realizing that he had done enough damage here, Neuron removed two Pokeballs from his waist as he sat ankle deep in the mud to return his Pokemon. He panted, his heart still beating furiously inside his body from the shock and terror of almost being raped by a Pokemon. Whatever this Murmur Valley was, it seemed to hold an ill omen for the ninja. Picking himself up slowly, he shot one last dirty look at the old man before taking off in the direction he had been heading until he had been unceremoniously assaulted. He couldn't resist shooting one last retort at the old man before he ran out of earshot, "I hope that Grimer wakes up before your wife comes around. Then I hope it rapes the both of you long and hard." And he had to shamefully admit: he almost wished his words were going to become true. (0.3 Splendid work.) Perhaps the words would come true, maybe better what if a fleet of Grimer came? OR a big giant Muk hungry? Well, the boy ninja would never know for he had much better things to do in his journey. Making haste towards his designated location of Rose Town for an unspecified goal. Along the way the swamp was festive in noise and the sound of creatures living. Chirps and Tweets of all kinds, gurgles of swamp water and gargles of Pokemon breathing. Perhaps best to move with more haste. With a bad day already behind he trainer, a hyper sexual Grimer is the last thing wants. Especially a hyper sexual wigwam in their face as well. Alas, things would look up? Right? They had to? Things couldn't get worse? Right? I'm asking you. Answer me! Dammit. Alright, maybe they can. "Carnivine..." The words came softly, as if something was whispering far behind. The ninja turned around and searched the for the maker of the sound. Nothing, turning about and continued his trek. "Carn.." The noise, again. No one in sight to accuse of making the sound. Onwards! "Carnivine!" There it was again! That odd sound, or name. Either somebody had an obsession or there was actually one of these Carnivine nearby. Heading south, the ninja boy made it to the southern sinklands but that voice, with it's poor Jerry Lewis impersonation was haunting the Ninja Trainer's every step. Suddenly, a big green lily pad floated up in front of the ninja. It was immense and of an very odd oval shape. It sat there, then blinked. Wait. Lily pads don't blink. The eyes stared up at the boy trainer, but slowly the lily pad rose up to reveal a much more intimidating shape. A four foot tall visage of a Venus fly trap, with tentacles and leaf branches for arms. It wasn't going to be one of those adult anime's was it!? The Carnivine stared forward, it's eyes dull and almost lifeless. It seemed to have a disturbing smile slapped across it's face, it's arms dangling down towards the ground seeping into the sinking mud. Tentacles whipped from the sinking ground but the Pokemon made no attempt to move nor attack. Was it hostile or extremely friendly? Drool slowly seeped from it's maul, a sweet smelling aroma filled the air. This was a peculiar Pokemon indeed. ![]() 50/50 |

(( 0.3 ))The air was getting more moist and chilly with each well placed step the ninja took. His vision was fogging up; much of his surroundings was beginning to fade away into a misty nothingness of water particles that seemed to hover in midair around the ninja. Neuron was disgruntled; not only did the mist obscur his much needed vision, it also made it harder to move. The ninja shuddered slightly. Trying to shut out the excessive noises of the habitat about him, he wondered briefly if he had reached the place that travellers came to call the Mist Valley. It wasn't long before Neuron couldn't see anything at all, and even the pattering of his own feet seemed like something foreign to his conscious self. It was only then that the last thing Neuron could ever want in such a situation appeared before himself. He heard the whispering first, but it did not quite register in his mind what it was. After all, the last time he had encountered such a creature - which, mind you, was not too long ago - he never had the chance to use his Pokedex to find out about this species of Pokemon that was unfamiliar to him. But he could not possibly forget the carnivorous plant face. As it suddenly materialized in front of him, the ninja gave an involuntary jerk out of surprise and bounded backwards, yelling out uncontrollably. His heartbeat had suddenly accelerated into a constant drone inside his chest again, and Neuron could feel the panic of a trapped laboratory rat rising within him. What the hell was this place? What has it got against a ninja who only wanted to pass by quickly? Shuddering once more as the unwanted memories of only two encounters ago rose up, Neuron grabbed two Pokeballs from his belt and flung them wildly in the direction of the Carnivine. Once he had settled down somewhat and could considerably make judgements, the shinobi remembered the Ingrain ability of this plant Pokemon - and what it's comrades had tried to do to him in the past. Not in the world was he about to let it happen again, and since he was also in a hurry, Neuron deemed it justified to use everything he's got and show no mercy. Retreating a safe distance away - while making sure he did not lose sight of the battle in the mist completely - Neuron pleaded to the two companions he released. "Please," he called out, in an almost pathetic whimper that was highly unlikely from the one known as Neuron Long, "I don't need this to happen again. Crush it with all you got. .3 ![]() Neuron wasn't the only one to remember the meat eating vine, as Kazekage took a sudden strong pose as she was released, recalling how deadly two had been early. Not intending to give the plant a chance to latch onto either its trainer nor its partner, Kazekage began to whip up a sharp wind that would help remove wind resistance in their movements to boost their speed while simultaneously beating her winds hard one after another, creating such strong waves of wind that they were almost visible, striking the carnivine over and over again as its body shuddered and jerked with each strike. Howling with excitement, Cerebrus then began to charge forward towards the Carnivine and beared its fangs, sinking them deeply into the green fleshy head as sap-like blood began to flow freely, the canines head jerking around to tear and rip with as much damage as it could as the pokemon could sense its trainers distress. Slowly, vines began to creep up towards Cerebrus' legs and suddenly cinched tight! Only to meet open air as the black dog had jumped impressively and withdrew from its bite, protecting itself from being grappled in the deadly grip as he lowered his head and let out a low and feral growl, daring the swamps defender to try anything so stupid once again. As Cerebrus growled however, the carnivine began to noticeably swell, as it was taking in the nutrients from the ground around it to boost its own strength and build up power in its body, readying itself for another strike. ---- Tail Wind Turn: 1/5------------- ![]() Lv 26 52/52 ![]() Lv 24 24/48~Atk +1~ Vs ![]() lv 25 25/50~Sp. (( 0.3 ![]() And uhh, so did I arrive in Mist Valley or not? Just to make sure. =P )) Before Neuron had realized it, his hands had crept to the back of his hip and clicked open the kunai holster, removing one of his deadly assassin weapons from it quickly. It had been a subconcious act - the hand seemed to act solely on instinct and experience. The other hand, however, acted upon reason and logic, and removed the Pokedex from it's respective compartment. With satisfaction, the ninja had saw his two Pokemon tear into the enemy ferociously, and deemed it finally save to approach the situation more intellectually. After all, he couldn't do with always simply charging headfirst into a battle without ever understanding any of these new species that the Opaddeka region offered. He listened intently on what the machine had to tell him. But it never mattered in the end. His course of action was going to be the same. Whether he knew its name or not, whether he knew its ability or not, this Carnivine was not going to bother Neuron, or catch Neuron, or for that matter detain Neuron long in his hurried journey towards his desired goal. Growling just as lowly and aggressively as his canine partner had, Neuron pointed an accusing finger at the Carnivine yet again and hissed, "Good. 0.2 Alright, jeez you killed it. Strange, that plant seemed almost familiar. In fact it was, the same you had encountered when the ninja came into the marshlands. It had returned to avenge it's fallen brother which you enslaved, but alas failed yet again. Maybe another day. The boy wasn't in the mist valley quite yet, he had a long road to travel...or one inch. A single step forward and the boy ninja had arrived in the Mist Valley. Hark I say, onward to your next destination. Mindless wandering through fog sounds fun. 0.5 for your Pokemon.

(( 0.2 :gexp. Thanks Seph. )) There was a huge sigh of relief as the plant fell to the ground, clearly unconscious. At that moment, words could not even come close to describing how thankful the ninja was that the battle had gone through so smoothly, without any grappling whatsoever of anybody on his team by the vines - including himself. With the traces of the last battle still lingering on his mind, the last thing Neuron needed was for the process to repeat himself. And so since thankful he was inside, and thus thankful he showed his Pokemon. There was an excessive amount of hugging and patting for both Cerberus and Kazekage, which amounted to a lot more than necessary for a shinobi trainer who never revealed too much of his emotions to the outside world. But there are just some things that could make even the most introverted person to be outwardly grateful, and this situation was one of them. The moment did not last long, however. Days had lapsed since he last saw the final episode in Samson Salsbury's Cracking Cryzanthum. His body itched for a battle that were more than just the monotonous repetition of running into wild Pokemon and defeating them. It had been a while now since he last measured himself up to other trainers. And where there was such a huge event happening, he was sure to come across interesting people - which would in turn help towards satisfying one of his newer goals. He promptly returned his two Pokemon. He noticed that the mist around him was thick as ever. Though doubt about his confidence in not getting lost now crept across his mind tauntingly, the ninja pushed the thought aside and pressed onwards. 0.3 No Pokemon is dumb enough to wander the fog alone, no Pokemon is dumb enough to approach a man of black in a fog. They strayed from his path he walked never straight. The boy ninja continued onward, a male and sure of his direction. There wasn't much to say, he walked and walked sometimes in several circles. It was a monumental journey, tiring and incredibly tedious. It's never too late to let go, times like these some one would have wished for a Pokemon strong enough to cater one around. The fog marsh was slowly began to level, but returned to it's loamy unstable texture. He wandered, eventually making it to a unclearable amount of fog. Did he dare cross such a great distance of fog, he turned and only saw more fog. To his left and to his right, in front and in the back. Surrounded by fog, such an inspiring amount of time necessary to travel. The boy continued onwards, hopefully with safety as top priority. --Unclearable Fog Marsh 1 Reached-- |

(( 0.2 ))Neuron slowed down slightly, his step faltering due to uncertainty. He had landed himself so thick in the fog now that he wasn't quite sure where the heck he was. He thought he could hear the lapping of the lake's water on the shore to his direct right, where it should be, but no matter how hard he strained his eyes, he couldn't make anything out but for the thick billowing of white cloudy substance clinging to the air. Perhaps it was just his imagination that he was still on the right track. Turning about on the spot, Neuron looked back behind him from where he came. Or rather, he figured that was where he came from. He couldn't be quite sure now. Perhaps this was what a blind man feels like. He knew that if he even deviated from walking a straight path ever so slightly, the long term result would be that he would be ridiculously off his mark from the destination. It did not make things any better that he had to go around a lake - which was definitely not a straight path. After bewilderingly looking about him a few more times, the ninja finally realized that there was nothing for it but continuing to press on. Since he didn't seem to have a method of figuring out where his exact position was, staying still in one spot wouldn't help him any way either. The only thing he could do now was to hope that he had been well oriented enough to have been travelling the way he had intended to. Shrugging the thoughts off, Neuron continued on, running through the mist in a brisk, hurried pace. Currently In: Unclearable Fog Marsh 1 Direction: Around the Lake Destination: Malral District |

.3 ![]() Around the lake, the mist seemed to be thicker than ever as Neuron would find himself plowing through a thick white cloud with no idea of what direction he was heading, only barely able to make out the edge of the water which atleast kept him from running headlong into the water. Suddenly an obstacle appeared, though Neurons honed senses allowed the skilled shinobi to leap over the small creature that had appeared in his path before stumbeling over it and plowing facefirst in an unceremonious fashion... There has been enough demoralizing actions this day, than to add that to the list. On the ground was a small green bird, apparently just as lost as the trainer as it was hopping around, first hopping in one direction, then hopping in the other, apparently unsure of which direction it was wanting to head. --------------------- ![]() Lv 23 46/46~Lost'd~ |

(( 0.3 ))The travel through the thick mist had been monotonous. After all, people complain enough when travelling by car or train for long distances, and they at least have some sort of scenery - whether beautiful or not - flashing by in a quickened pace. All the ninja had was the same smokey white over and over again. It was not unexpected that the ninja found sanity and refuge within his own mind as his body kept plugging along on autopilot. Thus when his leaping strides took him over the small hopping green bird unoticeably only to be tripped by it last moment, it sent the ninja sprawling clumsily like an awkward fool, jolting his senses awake from the recluse of his own thoughts. He landed not very painfully, but definitely messily upon the marshy grounds with a loud splosh, spending sprays of mud and water flying in every direction. After lying there to catch his breath briefly, he turned around on his back and propped himself up to peer through the thick mist to see what it was that had knocked him off his graceful canter. It took awhile before Neuron located the small ball of fluff hopping about back and forth in the mist. He could barely make it out in the weather, but perhaps the dark shade of green helped within the sea of white. It's action seemed to mirror the shinobi's only a moment ago, and Neuron could already tell that the bird had no idea where it was going. Neuron felt slightly bad for challenging the small wild Pokemon to a fight in this state, but both he and his team needed a practice. He took some time in picking the one he wanted to use - after all, the Natu itself didn't seem too hostile. Finally plucking one out of the six off his belt, he flung it forwards, himself still in the sitting position after his face plant. "Sorry, little one," Neuron whispered to his would be opponent almost apologetically, "but how about a small battle to break the boring routine of both our travels?" He nodded at the Pokemon he sent out; Stalker knew what to do. --- lv 23 "Stalker":hp: 40/46 :exp: 1.3/1.5 :happiness: 3 Ability: Torrent Multiplies Wartortle's Water Type moves by 1.5 when its life is low. :atev: +2 :dfev: +1*** :hpev: ** :saev: +1** :spev: +2* :sdev: +2* ~wearing tutu made of melted :mysticwater~ [using Withdraw + Bite] vs. lv 23 wild:hp: 46/46 ~Lost'd~ |

0.3 Natu, a small timid little bird that belonged on a totem pole. The bird heard somebody talk to him, quickly jumping out of fright and then turned around. The bird saw the large turtle tower in front of him and nearly fainted right there and then. The bird was unsure what direction to take, but it was sure of one thing...it didn't want to stick around here anymore! The bird turned tail and rushed off into the darkest abyss of all things misty. The bird was nowhere to be found, shame to be seen. The disappointment of such a thing...but something buzzing caught the attention of ones ears. The buzzing grew louder, the figure of someone's silhouette grew apparent...somebody was approaching. A tall olive skinned woman, she wore a dark magenta dress with an apron securely wrapped around her wide hips. Her eyes were the of the darkest lavender, her body language was relaxed and coy. The Beedrill at her side flapped it's wings rapidly, just as relaxed as she was. She seemed far from surprised to see another in these parts, but also had a small smirk grow on her face. She took out a small clipboard from her apron, detaching a pencil from the board and began to sketch the sight in front of her. "The aesthetic value of your Wartortle is simply splendid. You've raised it well, obvious in it's posture. Showing strength and a charismatic magnetism." She finished sketching and held out the clipboard in front of her. Showing a perfectly drawn picture of the water Pokemon, it could have been mistaken for a photoshopped image! She put the clipboard back into her apron and dusted off her dress, she adjusted her stance and spoke with her voice, the shrill of the lax vocal chords was eerie. How could somebody be so calm in such an environment where anything could happen? "I challenge you to a 3 versus 3 battle. You already have yours chosen and as do I. The prize will be whatever you wish. Value of currency is not comparable to the value of life's beauty." 48/48 ~Awaiting for you to accept the challenge. |

(( 0.3 ))Neuron turned around at the sound of the buzzing drone. He had picked himself up as soon as Stalker had been out of her Pokeball, brushing up a majority of the muck that clung to his attire, and thus did not see nor aniticipate the fleeing of the small green bird. Next thing he knew, however, was a dark skinned woman confronting him about the aesthetics of his starter Pokemon and being shown a perfectly proportioned and realistic image of it after she drew it on the spot. The ninja was confused - he didn't usually pay too much attention to these beauty things. After all, he was a ninja, not some pageant-crazy girl. He needed his Pokemon to be fighters, so that he could accomplish his goals. He wasn't as power hungry as some of those extremes out there, but beauty would be one of the last things this shinobi cared about. Not only that, he didn't see much point of the woman sketching a picture of his own Pokemon on the spot. As illustrious as it was, he couldn't quite get the point. What did she mean by that? Nevertheless, a battle was something Neuron understood. And a battle was something Neuron never backed away from. That was something simple enough for Neuron to understand. Thus, despite his team being somewhat damaged due to his travels, he nodded firmly, muttering, "Very well." He had to play it safe anyway. Though the woman probably meant no harm by it, such information as the drawing - being so accurate - could not fall into the hands of the wrong people. Perhaps he should set that as the stakes of this battle; though it was probably not worth too much. He didn't care. She didn't seem to anyway. "As for the stakes then," he called out afterwards, "since neither of us seems to want to give a thought to it, how about we set them after the battle?" The ninja smiled grimly. It had been awhile since his last battle with another trainer at Mayriver. Scanning his surroundings, he remembered and saw the lake shore to his right and heard its faint lapping sounds of the waves. The ninja and his Pokemon partner shared a knowing nod, and then the shinobi yelled out. "Well then, I've got places to go, so let's make this quick! Here I come!" "Stalker, go!" Neuron shouted, taking a battle stance in case his human body got attacked, and flung out his arm to the right. Immediately, the Wartortle took a dodging run to the side and leaped into the lake, taking the battle to the depths where she was most familiar and had an advantage at. --- lv 23 "Stalker":hp: 40/46 :exp: 1.3/1.5 :happiness: 3 Ability: Torrent Multiplies Wartortle's Water Type moves by 1.5 when its life is low. :atev: +2 :dfev: +1 :saev: +1 :spev: +2 :sdev: +2 ~wearing tutu made from melted :mysticwater~ [using Withdraw + Hydro Pump] vs. lv 24:hp: 48/48 |

0.3 The battle was taken to the depths, something Beedrill wasn't capable of copying. The Woman watched carefully as the ninja boy gave his orders, he was so commanding and swift in his commands. She carefully sketched down on the paper, getting his physique and frame down to complete her sketch. She looked up from her drawing and remembered a battle was taking place, she quickly commanded her needle Pokemon, hugging the clipboard to her chest. "Beedrill, shoot a glob of Toxic waste into the water. Making a unsuitable environment for the Wartortle when it comes up to attack. Then Focus Energy for our next turn." Beedrill nodded, lifting it's thorax and shooting a concentrated stream of purple liquid into the water filling a large area with the toxic goo. The Beedrill began to concentrate and focus it's mind. Withdrawing and increasing it's defensive mentality it was time to move, the Wartortle thought. The Wartortle surface in the toxic sludge and with a mouth wide open to shoot out a powerful blast of water, the sludge had entered his mouth. He shot it out and felt a stinging sensation as it traveled past his lips, over the gums watch out tummy here it comes! The hydro pump came quick, bashing the Beedrill in the abdomen and sent it flying skyward. Higher up in the sky the Beedrill turned out and finally got control of it's altitude, softly floating back towards the ground. The Beedrill watched the unsuitable water conditions and wondered how much longer Wartortle would stay in that toxic sludge. Helena went back to her sketch pad, finishing up the drawing of the ninja trainer. She was calm, not excited over the fact her Beedrill lost a chunk of health, and the Pokemon didn't seem to mind at all. Peculiar. The poisonous liquid that intoxicated Wartortle started to have disastrous effects that could only intensify as the battle went on. 38/46 ~Toxic Poisoned vs ![]() 26/48 ~Focus Energy'd |

(( 0.3 ))Peering into the mist, Neuron finally decided to observe the girl he was battling more carefully. At first, he had paid no heed to her words about beauty and such, but despite that, the ninja found himself somewhat smitten by the girl. Forget the Pokemon, the woman herself was some sort of aesthetic queen herself. Though they were battling, it should be a friendly one, and the shinobi found himself more than willing to make the acquaintance of his opponent. Stalker, however, was not in as much appreciation as her partner was. She had a certain amount of understanding with Neuron, and thought of the same plan as the human almost at an instant. Taking the battle to the lake, both Neuron and Stalker had hoped that it was a place that the opposing Beedrill could not fare well in. But neither took into account the fact that where Beedrill couldn't move well in, he could just as easily make it unsuitable for Stalker as well. Bubbles emerged in a rapid state on the lake surface; Stalker was beneath the concealment of the water from the poison. Neuron smiled despite the circumstances. Not only was his opponent attractive, but she knew what she was doing as well. It was going to be an interesting battle. He had hoped that Stalker, with the amount of water about her, would able to attack from under water, but that was not to be. There was only one thing he could do then. "Different tactics," he shouted quickly, "Let's put it all on this one move!" It was a risk, but one that should have interesting outcomes. Neuron waited, turning to glance at his opponent again. Finally, he uttered, "So what brings a lady like you out here in the unforgiving mist? May I at least have the name of my unknown challenger?" lv 23 "Stalker":hp: 38/46 :exp: 1.3/1.5 :happiness: 3 Ability: Torrent Multiplies Wartortle's Water Type moves by 1.5 when its life is low. :atev: +2 :dfev: +1 :saev: +1 :spev: +2 :sdev: +2 ~wearing tutu made from melted :mysticwater~ [using Withdraw + Skull Bash] ~poison'd~ vs. lv 24:hp: 26/48 |

0.3 Ah, modding. A simple job that requires little collateral, it wasn't like people waited all day in hopes of their own *cough*. The lady looked up, her cool blue eyes seem to tell all kinds of stories that would drag any man into the depths. She only gave an alluring smile and spoke softly, vocal chords of an angel. "The names Helena Quinn, I figure this mist must be hiding something of unique taste so I travel through it. I find you, and your splendid framed Pokemon. So I guess that accounts for something." She said, then motioned her gorgeous blue eyes towards her Beedrill. "Rest this phase Beedrill. Focus Energy, again. Float several meters up to give yourself a safe distance." Beedrill nodded, floating elegantly upwards as an aura surrounded it. The Beedrill's eyes watched the water below for a turtle who would show himself at any moment and try to bash his skull into someone. The lady was wise and beautiful, and a status queen. She had a set of brains on her, wonder how the battle would unfold. She watched her Pokemon for several moments, nodded then went back to her sketch of the Ninja Boy. She was placing detail on her work, Pokemon and humans were two different kinds of things to draw. The difference in size, and display of emotion were miles apart. She enjoyed her work, and only looked up at the boy from time to time to finish her art. The poison in the turtle's veins intensified to another level, causing more pain then before. ![]() 34/46 +2 Defense ~Toxic'd vs ![]() 26/48 ~Critical Hit +2 |

(( 0.3 ))"I guess it does," Neuron echoed absent-mindedly, still staring pointedly at the lady whom he was battling with. Unknowingly, a giddy smile crept across his lips; definitely a first ever since he entered Murmur Valley. "Helena Quinn, eh?" he whispered softly, almost euphorically enjoying the words as the rolled off his tongue in a cat-like purr. "Neuron Long. Pleased to make your acquaintance, I'm sure." Whatever his outwards behaviour was like, however, Neuron still remained the clear-headed ninja that he was inside. He still had his pride as a shinobi to keep, and would not be letting the girl have it easy on him just because he was somewhat smitten. When he had first clapped eyes on the Beedrill, he had been afraid that she was going to abuse its use of poison; and what Neuron had feared certainly seemed to be the case. It would seem that his opponent was no easy pushover. But two could play at this game. After all, what kind of ninja would he be if he could not fight in an environment that obstructed sight? He was a master of the shadows, a silent killer of the dark. It was time to stop living up the name merely through words, and use actions to back that title up. The ninja knew that his Pokemon could handle herself; seeing how she didn't attack last turn and merely remained in the water, Neuron already had confirmation that they were still thinking along the same lines. She would erupt out of the water from an unexpected angle to slam her hardened head into the flying insect with all her might. What Neuron needed to do now was to distract Helena, disrupt her from her train of thought and confuse her. Even the most clear-headed person would make mistakes when being faced with something unfamiliar. Deciding to take advantage of the fact that his opponent seemed to have a want - or rather, it seemed more like a need - for sketching on her clipboard, Neuron wondered what would happen if the object she was sketching suddenly disappeared halfway through her sketch. With only a mere curl of a sneer, Neuron suddenly backed up slightly, disintegrating into the mist. --- lv 23 "Stalker":hp: 34/46 :exp: 1.3/1.5 :happiness: 3 Ability: Torrent Multiplies Wartortle's Water Type moves by 1.5 when its life is low. :atev: +2 :dfev: +1 :saev: +1 :spev: +2 :sdev: +2 ~wearing tutu made from melted :mysticwater~ [using Withdraw + still Skull Bash'n from last turn] ~toxic'd~ vs. lv 24:hp: 26/48 ~crit. hit +2~ |

0.3 Helena smiled, pleased to meet her was he? "I'm sure the pleasure is all yours." She said, her lips curled to a very seductive curve. She was playing hard to get, all women do that. If they didn't we wouldn't be interesting, we enjoy the thrill of the chase. Were it not, we would be bored and just enjoy the internet and all of the glories it throws at us. Anywho, she finished some parts of her sketch but needed key factors. Eyes, they were the passage to any soul and at her distance she couldn't capture the image of his soul...she would have to get in closer for something like that. But that would be unorthodox in a battle, there were boundaries to keep and she had to do such a thing. She looked up and he stepped back, into the mist and become one with the shadows. Invisible to her eyes, she couldn't catch sight of him. She looked, scanning the surroundings and didn't catch sight of even a silhouette. He was gone, she only gave a frown and sighed. Boys, they're all the same. "Beedrill, the turtle will be surfacing. Twin Needle and get your best shot on him." Beedrill nodded, slowly it hovered down looking to draw out the turtle. The turtle had business to take care of, withdrawing and waiting for an opportune moment to take. Suddenly, without warning he shot like a bullet from a loaded gun. Smashing right into the bug's thorax and sent him reeling backwards, but not before he shoved both of his stinger hands forward into the abdomen of the turtle's. It was quite a sight, if we put it in bullet time we'd see impressive movement. But it was so quick, both the trainer's would have had to have paid close attention to the battle rather then to each other to catch the quick movement of the two. The Wartortle fell back into the water, the cloak of liquid acting as his safeguard as he floated around. The poison that settled in his veins doubled it's potency. Sapping more of his health from him, the poisons strength doubled every turn...the boy ninja would have to think fast on the matter. ![]() 26/46 +3 Defense ~Toxic'd vs 9/48 +2 Critical Hit |

(( 0.3 ))It was as if there were two different stand-offs going on: Neuron versus Helena, Stalker versus her Beedrill. Indeed, the ninja paid no heed to his Pokemon; a Pokemon who was worthy of calling herself Neuron's companion had to be in possession of a certain amount of intellect to figure out her own battles, after all. He would leave defeating the Beedrill up to the Wartortle. After all, despite her suffering, she didn't seem to be in too much trouble...yet. Though he had backed himself out of eyesight from the girl, it was not over yet. Now he sidestepped - away from the water and hopefully in a semi-circle to come around from the girl's back. Since he was not an expert in the area, and his sense of direction in the mist only mediocre, it was more of a daring risk than calculated plan. But it was a fun game to play, and play he will. Stalker, on the other hand, plunged back into the waters, eyes wincing as her tears merged into the lake water. It hurted, but being a warrior, she knew what it was that Neuron expected of her. Besides, as a battling Pokemon, she had a certain amount of pride to upkeep anyway. She wasn't about to let some stupid insect win over her. The very least she could do was take it out before Neuron was going to be forced to switch to another Pokemon. Shutting her eyes as she concentrated, she summoned one last surge of power from within her to shoot at the insect. From out of the mist, Neuron's voice echoed out hauntingly, "For your information then, please don't take my 'splendid framed Pokemon' lightly. It has more than just aesthetic value." After a while, as if pausing in an afterthought, he added, "and for the record, Stalker's female." --- lv 23 "Stalker":hp: 26/46 :exp: 1.3/1.5 :happiness: 3 Ability: Torrent Multiplies Wartortle's Water Type moves by 1.5 when its life is low. :atev: +2 :dfev: +1 :saev: +1 :spev: +2 :sdev: +2 ~wearing tutu made from melted :mysticwater~ [using Withdraw + still Skull Bash'n from last turn] ~toxic'd, +3 def.~ vs. lv 24:hp: 9/48 ~crit. hit +2~ |

(0.3 smart butt :P) She only breathed like any aquatic animal would, under the water being all female like. Yeah, I said it. She, SHE SHE. She swam swiftly, and apparently she's doing another skull bash which takes two turns. She was playing the waiting game and taking chips of health out of her system. The beedrill waited over the water, only searching for the creature that swam through the darkest depths of the water. Only awaiting for the best times to attack with fatal properties. The options were in the females court of what to do in this turn of wait. She only smiled as the boy ninja was playing the ominous game, hiding in the cloak of fog a few meters away from her on the right. He wasn't particularly excellent shadow walker, unsure of where he was. But anyone, expert ninja or not wouldn't know where to go in a dense fog where you knew where nothing was. She only placed both of her hands on the top of her clipboard and pressed it against her chest. She turned her head to the direction where his voice came from. She blinked, looking through the thick fog. She would need a knife to cut through it's thick cover. "Your Pokemon's shown an impressive display of moves, an array of talent. I assume she takes after her 'papa'. So, I take it from your attire your in the business of shadows and cloaks. The whole, stealth espionage? Your lifes only an asset to someone else's mission? Self employed? Or do you have a clan of brothers? Such a mysterious figure you claim to be in your appearance. You have the kind of mind I'd love to just wander inside." She said, her eyes turning towards the sky. Blocked by a screen of fog. Such a uninspiring sight. The fog blocked all the beauty around her. Whatever she was searching for, she only found this boy and his interesting method of living. She turned her eyes to the Beedrill that floated over the lake. "Beedrill, Focus Energy and prepare a Poison Jab. If our Wartortle plans to attack the same way as before. Be prepared. We're guaranteed a Critical Hit." Well, I'm not too sure about that, I assume she's only hoping for such a thing to occur. But with such a high critical hit ratio. It would be hard to argue such a fact. The Beedrill prepared it's needle appendages as it lightly flapped it's wings over the waters. Helena only looked around every so often, feigning not to be interested where the boy was hiding himself. The poisons grew in strength, sooner or later they'd be dealing some kind of impressive damage...oh wait they were. 18/46 +4 Defense -Toxic'd vs ![]() 9/48 +4 Critical Hit |

(( 0.3 :gexp. Shit, forgot to edit the attack when I copied the stats. xD )) Neuron cringed visibly as the sounds of battle did not reach his ears for a long time, ending only with Helena's commentary for what her Pokemon was about to do next. Though he could not see the battle from where he had positioned himself due to the intense mist, he was at least logical enough to figure out what must have happened. Knowing, however, that if he called out encouragements of any sort to his Pokemon would give his location away to the enemy, he chose to remain quiet and hidden. After all, Stalker was his starter. If she did not have a huge amount of Neuron's trust, he wouldn't be much of a trainer. The water type herself in question sunk deeper, struggling with the remains of her life force to make it useful. Knowing that she had missed her chance at the perfect opportune moment for a projectile by wincing inside herself, she decided that she might as well use the error to her advantage and use another Skull Bash instead. 0.2 Ha. Helena watched, her Pokemon was weak and all would have figured her to be to in the loser's circle. She watched through the fog, the mist silhouette fluttering over the water as the sound of swimming became audible as the Wartortle neared the surface. Helena was quick to order, throwing her hand forward and speaking loudly. "Beedrill, prepare yourself! Twin Needle attack, take the Wartortle with you!" Beedrill fluttered his wings, the Wartortle shot out of the water like a blue bullet. Colliding with the Beedrill's abdomen, a single poisonous tip puncturing the neck of the Wartortle landing a decisive critical blow. Both creatures went limp, falling to the water and a loud splash echoed through the shade of fog. Helena stepped forward to the edge of the pond, holding out Beedrill's pokeball and recalled her Pokemon. She shimmied her hips and turned to the fog, looking for the ninja boy with a curled smile. Had the critical blow not ended the Wartortle, the poison would have surely overcame the beast in the waters. "I guess we'll have to do better next time hon." She gave a soft chuckle, placing the Pokeball into her apron and grabbing another and tossed it forward. A more formidable creature appeared, standing nearly six feet tall with a massive sturdy frame. The creature slammed her tail into the ground and roared into the air, her cyan blue flesh barely visible in the fog. The ground shimmered as she stomped back and forth, ready to fight. "If you're ready to resume. Maybe we can continue, and this time without a shade to hide from one another. Don't be shy, I don't bite." She held her clipboard over and hugged it against her bosoms, her shoulders slumping down as she stood firm. The Nidoqueen scanned her surroundings for an opponent, who was not visible. (( 0.3 :gexp. Ugh, double KO. =.=" )) Still determined not to give his position away, Neuron put away returning Stalker. After all, as much as the water was intoxicated, there was the entire lake water to dilute what little poison the measly bug Pokemon could spit out from its deadly barbs. In the end, the water was where Stalker belonged to the most, and that was where the ninja intended to let his Pokemon rest until a better time came to retrieve her. It should be soothing enough for the water type. Thus as she hung there just below the surface line, her limp body only being dragged down slightly by the weight of her own shell, light and sound erupted elsewhere, somewhere to the immediately right of the lady and her Nidoqueen. That was where Neuron had flung his next Pokeball, and a shaggy, dark furred beast soon stood well-muscled and tall, facing off against his would be opponents. The canine was panting; it was no mistake of Neuron's. He thought Cerberus needed the training. The shinobi recognized the fact that the hound was still hurt from his previous battles on his journey, and Neuron was grateful for that and did not intend to push the Pokemon any further than his ability would allow. However, he also knew that the Mightyena was a fighter and not a whiner, and would come to blame him for not letting him fight if he learned about it sooner or later. Perhaps, just perhaps, the mighty Cerberus would be able to pull through through his own adrenaline rush and intimidating the other Pokemon to a lower defensive guard. Neuron's voice floated out hauntingly from yet another location within the mist, "Leave no time, attack immediately, my friend!" Cerberus needed no second advice to obey. Only taking a split second to wind up with his hind legs, he leaped at the Nidoqueen, howling like some deranged beasts and saliva frothing from his open maw. 0.3 It gets worse. The Mightyena was a powerful foe, quick and powerful. Intimidating the foe with his looks, the pup had rage. And he attacked, leaping forward. "You bite. I destroy." She said with a dark gaze, her orders came as cold as they were served. "Nidoqueen, Super Power." The Nidoqueen roared loudly, the Mightyena had lunged quickly. The beast was fast, but Nidoqueen was faster. The giant mouse Pokemon threw her arms up quickly, capturing the beast by the maw and the torso. She held her opponent high, her power grip closing the maw shut and her other arm suspending him high into the air. She held him there for a moment as her trainer began to speak. "To think, I was honestly going to offer you TM Toxic. You proved to be a worthy opponent, but now I think your getting lazy. You send an already famished Pokemon into battle? Against a clearly superior Pokemon? Though intimidating, Mightyena is all bark and no bite. Nidoqueen, finish him." The Nidoqueen roared, hoisting the pup over her head with a single arm, pushing all of her weights momentum forward she slammed the pup into the ground with a vicious slam. The dog was out in an instant, the Nidoqueen was just too strong, quick and defensively stable. With the type advantage of the move, and the move using a good deal of strength it had seemed the odds were against our little Ninja. "I state the stipulations now. Defeat my last two Pokemon and you may earn TM Toxic. I have only this Pokemon, and another. You may use the rest of your team. But if you prove yourself as a puppet master rather then a true trainer then I think I will be keeping my Technical Machine." Nidoqueen folded her arms and stared at the sight of the beaten Mightyena, the experience flowing into her veins and causing her to level up to a new standard of strength. "What do you know, your Mightyena gave me the necessary strength to advance. I must thank you very much. I don't know what I could have done without you." She said with a snicker, Nidoqueen roaring into the air and pounding her buxom bodies chest. It was a sign of boasting, though powerful Nidoqueen used up a good deal of energy in the former attack. Depleting her endurance, she was tired nevertheless. Losing some attacking power and was left a little defenseless in her slight fatigue. Gee Wilickers Batman, it's getting tough! 48/48 -2 Attack -1 Defense LEVEL'D UP! :O Stipulation: Your team (6) vs hers (3) With two down on your end, you have a single advantage in one Pokemon! (( 0.3 :gexp. For the record, my Luxio is fainted as well from an earlier battle. So it becomes a 2 on 2.)) "Just be grateful that I didn't go easy on you as far as sticking my little Turtwig on your 'clearly superior Pokemon'," came Neuron's voice from out of the mist again. It was not faltering; rather, it dripped with polite malice. He was quite enjoying this - feisty girls definitely seemed to rub Neuron the right way. Sending Cerberus out indeed was merely just a whim. Neuron had not expected the Mightyena to do much, but he couldn't deny the fact that he was not surprised to see the brute strength of his opponent power his prized canine so easily. Perhaps due to this, his pretty girl of an opponent had grown vain, but the ninja relished that fact. He was an experienced trainer enough to know that a battle was not over until it was over, and for her to so readily assume her upper hand in the situation was a drastic mistake on her part. Rather than desisting from the battle, the tempting offer and the sudden arrogance of the girl simply gave the ninja no choice. Though Neuron had not wanted to use Jiraiya if it was possible, Helena had left him no choice. It was a gut feeling in his personality. Proud girls must be controlled with a whipping defeat. "Who said I use Cerberus to bite?" he questioned yet again from within the recluse of the mist, "but since you seem so keen on me having come hard at you, I shall grant you that wish." There was only the slightest of pause. "Biting was an understatement. I devastate." --- lv 23 "Jiraiya II":hp: 46/46 :exp: 0.8/1.5 :happiness: 0 Ability: Early Bird If afflicted with sleep, Shiftry wakes up in half the time of normal ~holding :miracleseed~ [using Nasty Plot + Leaf Storm] vs. lv 24:hp: 48/48 ~att. -2, def. -1~ |

(0.3 >.> My bad then.) "Devastate?" She said weakly, watching and allowing the grass Pokemon to attack first. He was an impressive specimen, but the move choice wasn't exactly super effective. Destructive, and capable of dishing out a decent amount of damage. Not hindered or helped by Nidoqueen's type balance, a poison ground Pokemon had finally become a useful combination! Nidoqueen growled, minor lacerations decorated her entire frame. But she still stood, slightly weakened but not out of the game quite yet. "Remind me if I'm wrong. But to devastate something, don't they have to be completely overpowered? You're not overpowering me, kid." The last word slipped out quick, to sting and inflict harm. She was just as venomous as her array of Pokemon. She had to be swift in her tactics, and to utterly win again she had to think fast. She was quick to order her Pokemon into battle. "Nidoqueen, Toxic! Follow it up with Double Kick." The Nidoqueen roared and rushed forward, spewing a toxic sludge from her mouth that sprayed quickly at Nuzleaf. The Pokemon being a grass type knew the harms of poison and dodged. Seemed some luck had finally found itself to the ninja. But the luck would quickly fade to normal convenience when the Nidoqueen unleashed a chainsaw like kick to the chin of Nuzleaf sending him flying backwards. Unable to land another kick due to the amount of distance she would have to travel Nuzleaf was spared another hoof to the face. The giant mouse walked backwards to her trainer, keeping a watchful eye on the Nuzleaf. "Hm. Seems we're at another standstill again. Shame..." She said, pulling the clipboard from her chest and began to sketch the defined back structure of her Pokemon down on the piece of canvas paper. She seemed slightly less interested in Neuron as the moments passed, once an interesting and attractive boy became a voice in the fog. She didn't flirt with fog. ![]() 36/46 +2 Sp. (( 0.2 :gexp. Shiftry, buddy. Not Nuzleaf. )) Nothing came from the fog for awhile, but if the woman was to listen carefully, she could have heard the distinct clinking of metal. It was a very discrete sound, but meant a lot more than it sounded like to a shinobi like Neuron. His hand curled around the metal hilt of one of his kunais and pulled it out of the holster. He had been playing with this notion for awhile, but didn't deem it necessary yet. Of course, that would be his last resort to show his superiority in the ways of life if he really wouldn't be able to win this match, but that came later. Neuron remembered well how he himself learned that winning Pokemon battles meant nothing at all if the trainer was to foolishly put himself at risk. But the reason that he suddenly brought out his kunai now was not that. From his vantage point, he had heard the scribbling on the clipboard yet again. There was no doubt in his mind; Helena was sketching. Aiming the kunai in the direction of the sound, he flung it, the aim true. It sung in the mist towards the pencil and clipboard, threatening to almost take out the woman's hand. "To devastate is to lay waste, dear friend," he said slowly, in more of a drawl this time. "Nobody ever said that it was an action of an instant - it takes time. Just like the perfection of a true art." While his trainer continued to play his silly game with the girl in the fog, however, Jiraiya had went to work already. Unlike the human, he was involved in the physical side of the combat, and did not have the time to enjoy such a moment. Fully understanding the capabilities of his opponent now, he launched into yet another attack. --- lv 23 "Jiraiya II":hp: 36/46 :exp: 0.8/1.5 :happiness: 0 Ability: Early Bird If afflicted with sleep, Shiftry wakes up in half the time of normal. ~holding :miracleseed~ [using Nasty Plot + Extrasensory] -att. +2- vs. lv 24:hp: 27/48 -att. -2, def. -1- |

(0.3 Yeah, I figured out the difference when the Nuzleaf sprite wasn't Shiftry. Too lazy to edit the post.) Helena looked up, hearing an air slicing sound she took a nonchalant step to the right as the bladed weapon zoomed right past her. She watched it past and then shrugged, she had all kinds of things thrown at her by odd people. She'd been in a bar many a time, and knew that you had to be wild with your senses to be able to strive. Though a thrown beer mug isn't thrown with as much speed, it's thrown with a unique amount of drunken rage especially if you deny the drunk throwing it a wild night. Why on earth this boy would throw something of violence at her was beyond her. She didn't like it, that knocked the boy down a little more in her book. "Nuisance..." She murmured. Turning to the battle at hand, with much haste. "Nidoqueen, Double Kick." Nidoqueen roared, smashing her giant stubby tree trunks into the ground and rushed forward. Smashing one foot into the Shiftry's gut and then the other into his face. The little tengu flew backwards, crashing into the ground near his trainer. The damage was immense, but not as immense as the damage that was to be dealt. With extrasensory perception the Shiftry moved into his attack. Forming a plot of a most dubious nature, he unleashed a wave of mind energy. The attack plunged deep into Nidoqueen's senses inflicting a mass amount of harm. Laying waste to the Nidoqueen much like the Ninja had predicted. Nidoqueen roared, falling to the ground and fainting. "Impressive. None the less. I must send out the next phase of battle." Cold, the words came out like winter. She seemed unphased by the gain of ground from the boy. She simply returned her Pokemon and sent out another coiled minion. The large cobra hissed into the air and kept a strong ground. Glaring at the Shiftry through the mist, sending a weakening shrill up the little tengu's spine. the battle had reached a climax, now we needed an ending. Scoffing, the woman tore out the piece of paper from her sketch pad and tossed it aside. Not finishing a piece of her work irked Helena. She started on another page, working on the Shiftry now rather then one of her own Pokemon. 2.1 awarded to Shiftry. Instant Level up. 19/48 +4 Sp. Attack -1 Attack vs 50/50 |

(( 0.3 :exp. Heh, alright. )) Neuron could not see what Pokemon his opponent had sent out this time, but he had heard the venomous hiss, and that alone was enough to halt the ninja in his tracks. Ignoring everything else, the man stood shock where he was, a shuddering chill running down his spine, eyes widened in shock. Neuron wasn't one to be scared easily, but memories and experience of a powerful enemy who's prized Pokemon was also an Arbok made this moment much more deadly than perhaps even Helena had invisioned it to be. After the initial dread had taken over and passed away, the silver haired man involuntarily went into a panicked state of logic that created doubts and theories about his adversary. No longer did he see the attractive, luring girl that he had before him, but instead a short, long-haired, blonde ninja. One who was known to have a Poochyena named Chad, a Mightyena named Quincy... and an Arbok known as Ishida. She herself went by the name of Glia, and was in the notorious group of ninjas dubbing themselves the Toboukage. Had the Nidoqueen and Beedrill merely been more of her Pokemon? After all, ninjas were supposed to be the masters of disguise; Neuron wouldn't be surprised at all if this was merely another of Glia's alter-egos. Flustered at having let his guard down at all, Neuron went into a series of paranoia attacks. His body moved swiftly, each of his limbs whipping about the air like angry Ekans. They brushed his body quickly, flipping open each of his kunai holsters as he sidestepped and cartwheeled across the area behind where the girl was known to be standing. Hooking his fingers around the hilts of his weapons, he sent at least four or five more of his kunais whizzing at the target. If his enemy was indeed Glia, he didn't expect his attack to do much; but the way the girl had dodged his kunai earlier... Neuron was worried. Jiraiya, in the meanwhile, had no idea what his trainer was up to. If he focused, he could distinctly hear movement from where he could only guess Neuron to be. Nevertheless, he was tired, but he still had his own battle to deal with. After all, though not understanding why Neuron hid in the fog, he did know that once he fell - which was only a matter of time, due to his weakened state - Neuron only had one Pokemon left to fight for him. Sympathizing with his trainer, the Shiftry knew that he must do all he can to make this last bit of his part in the battle count. Despite thinking it quite silly and nonsensical for his human ally to be leaping about in the midst of the mist, Jiraiya realized it wasn't that bad of an idea after all, and that he should probably take a leaf from Neuron's book. After all, he had other ways of sniffing out his foe to attack them from a distance with his psychic powers. Grinning from leaf to leaf, the Shiftry mimicked his trainer earlier, and moved backwards into the mist, disappearing from view. His mind, however, stayed focused on his next attacker, ready to unleash yet another mind-powering attack. --- lv 23 "Jiraiya II":hp: 19/46 :exp: 0.8/1.5 :happiness: 0 Ability: Early Bird If afflicted with sleep, Shiftry wakes up in half the time of normal. ~holding :miracleseed~ [using Nasty Plot + Extrasensory] -sp. att. +4, att. -1- vs. lv 25:hp: 50/50 |

0.3 "Hiding, can't you guys come up with anything more original?" She said as the Shiftry was engulfed by the fog, the tengu vanishing from her sight. She spoke to her coiled Pokemon, quickly and swiftly. The Arbok hissed into the air and built up it's defenses for the first round of things. "Arbok, Stockpile and Screech!" The Arbok quickly piled upon herself and made herself into a neat little stack. She quickly let out a hurling screech, the sound waves ripping apart the barrier of space and ear drums. The defense slowly trembling and losing dexterity. A shuddering wave of energy came from the fog, the Arbok hissed as the energy entered her mind and weakened her up quickly. The mind waves not destroying the beast completely, staying the game due to an increase in special defense. "Seems we're in this for a little longer, lover." She was spiteful at this point, having lost some of her best assets with only had the serpent, and her own physical attributes to fall back on. She wasn't willing to call it quits just yet. She watched the fog carefully, the blending mesh covering the ninja quite well. When she figured she had discovered him it was only a shrub or a tree branch hanging low to the floor. He was a sneaky bugger, and she didn't enjoy mind games being played. What was the whole point to this? Was he some desperate adolescence hiding because of some crush? Or was he so devoted to his craft that he felt it necessary to execute it at every turn. 19/46 -1 Attack -2 Defense +4 Sp. Attack vs ![]() 23/50 +1 Defense +1 Sp. Defense |

(( 0.3 ))"Perhaps I'm just playing hard to get," called back the voice from the fog. Neuron could pick out the insecurities in his opponent's voice now, and for a short moment, he let himself drown in relish of successfully breaking through the confidence of the girl. Somehow, he had managed to survive so far in his dire situation, though he knew he owed it mainly to his team of determined Pokemon. Nevertheless, the ninja was no fool. Despite the impatience that he felt radiating from his enemy, despite his giddy urge to finally reveal himself to flaunt his brilliance in her face, Neuron had to make sure that his victory had happened before he would succumb to such childish acts. He knew that though he appeared to have flipped the tables around so that he had the upper hand, it would only take one of his mistakes and an ingenious tactic on Helena's part to put him at a disadvantage. In any case, though he knew Jiraiya was suffering, it would be much better for the ninja if Jiraiya was able to finish this fight alone. After all, he still had ground to cover after beating Helena, and travelling with two Pokemon was rather much more reliable than travelling with only one. The plant-like Pokemon now suddenly emerged at his trainer's side, startling the ninja a little. He marveled at his own Pokemon's ability to imitate his tactics and apply it to his own battle, but did not give such praises yet; he was still determined not to give his - or for that matter now, Jiraiya's - position away to the foe. Only exchanging a couple of understanding nods, the two split up once more in the fog and went their separate ways. As the Shiftry pounded away in the fog from the human, he withdrew all his focus to the depths of his mind, plotting yet another nasty scheme and using his extra senses to sniff out the enemy to deal yet another devastating blow. --- lv 23 "Jiraiya II":hp: 19/46 :exp: 0.8/1.5 :happiness: 0 Ability: Early Bird If afflicted with sleep, Shiftry wakes up in half the time of normal. ~holding :miracleseed~ [using Nasty Plot + Extrasensory] -sp. att. +4, att. -1, def. -2- vs. lv 25:hp: 23/50 -def. +1, sp. def. +1- |

(0.3 My bad, you used Nasty Plot your last phase of battle and I forgot to apply it. Last I checked +6 was the maximum.) The woman sighed, rubbing her forehead. The battle was starting to give her a headache. First her opponent showed opportunity as a hopeful companion in travel then he proved himself to be nothing more then a immature boy. She traveled the fog lands in hopes of finding somebody interesting, at first the whole prestige of being a ninja turned her on to this fellow. But then he proved so dedicated to his craft that the facade was nothing more then a child. She folded her arms and sighed, looking at her serpent and nodding. The creature nodding back, turning back and flicking it's tongue at the collected mist. The fog proved to be quite thick, dense...accuracy was in question here. The powerful wave of energy flooded the area and attacked the mind of the poisonous opponent. But the wrong one, the snake slithered around and felt no pain. Helena on the other hand clenched her temple and yelled loudly. "God Dammit!" She roared, rubbing the side of her head several times as the extrasensory was far from pleasant. She shook her head as it slowly slipped away from her mind. She looked up at the arrogant display of power. "Teach your Pokemon to attack it's kind and not humans!" Well, the attack missed it's designated opponent and happened to hit her. Damn shame really, hiding in the mist seemed to make attacks hitting harder then it seemed. The snake continued to the slither through the mist until it saw the shadowy visage of her plant Pokemon opponent. The snake hissed and reared up. The hiss was enough hint that her Pokemon found the opponent. "Arbok! Toxic! Then Crunch!" The Snake reared back, regurgitating a vile liquid. It reared forward and then unleashed a streaming beam of purple toxin. The liquid shrouded the Shiftry in a veil of purple, seeping down into his flesh and inflicting a nasty infection. The Snake lunged forward with an open maw and was ready to bite down. But alas, the fog was a two way street. Clamping down it's fangs right upon where the Grass/Dark Pokemon should have been. The snake's eyes met her opponents, glowering as she quickly slithered off towards her trainer to attain a safe distance. (( 0.3 :gexp. Yup, +6 is maxed out. )) Neuron heard the irritated scream of the girl cut through the misty weather, and then the distinctive hissing of the vile Arbok only to be followed by a pained yell from his own Shiftry. It was clear what had happened in the first bit of the encounter - the girl's words were not that hard to decipher. Despite using extrasensory to attack his opponent, Jiraiya must have found the wrong mind to invade. Nevertheless, Neuron ignored the reprimand of the girl - in fact, he thought it was rather silly. She was the real fool if she thought Pokemon battles were simply fun and games; trainers are the one who started the feuds, and thus they only act as the king in a chess game. Only by removing the king can a victory be certain. Though there might be trainers who battle for sport out there, Neuron battled for his life. Nevertheless, Helena provided no real threat to him. It had only been his fail proof backup plan lest his Pokemon really did lose the fight. At this point, there really was no real need to inflict physical damage to Helena herself yet. In fact, this Pokemon battle had dragged on long enough. All Neuron had wanted was somebody to lead him through the fog and into the next town. He rather has had enough of stupid battles, and would want nothing more than to just arrive his goddamn destiny. He wonder if it would be a wise choice to just ask Jiraiya to head for a full on frontal assault. But the choice did not rest with the ninja anyways. Though only having met up moments before, Neuron had no idea where in the mist his own Shiftry was now. Sure, he had heard its disgruntled voice yelling out when the Arbok attacked him, but that, too, had been a few seconds ago. Who knew where Jiraiya had moved by now? Despite this, the Shiftry seemed to be thinking along the same lines as his trainer. The gradual pain reminded him that he was poisoned, and that he did not have much time left. Guessing games would have to wait until another time. Eyes blazing with fury, he chased after the Arbok as it slithered back to its trainer's side, ready to launch another mind attack directed at the true target this time. --- lv 23 "Jiraiya II":hp: 17/46 :exp: 0.8/1.5 :happiness: 0 Ability: Early Bird If afflicted with sleep, Shiftry wakes up in half the time of normal. ~holding :miracleseed~ [using Extrasensory] -sp. att. +6, att. -1, def. -2, poisoned- vs. lv 25:hp: 23/50 -def. +1, sp. def. +1- |

0.3 Sorry to leave ya hanging. The woman was quick to order, throwing her hand forward for the last act. The creatures rushed forward at one another, a vicious bite and a vicious mind! It was anti-climatic at best. "Arbok, Crunch attack!" Arbok listened, her maw opening up and ready to sink in for the bite, and I do mean the Arbok! Shiftry moved in with a mind wave of pulsing energy. A crunching bite that leeched into the flesh of the living plant, the mind wave coming soon after. The Arbok's bite was weakened, and soon it released. A winner was claimed! a 2.0 to your Shiftry for it's victory. But your run in with the woman was not over yet. She stepped forward with a disdain look upon her face. Having lost she felt that her luster was lost, her confidence faded and she soon returned to that bookworm persona. She pulled out a small disk out of her apron and held it up to her chin. She looked at it and sighed, her Toxic TM. Every Pokemon on her team knew the move and used it well, she could only hope that it would be used wisely by her opponent. "Well, Mr. Man. I see you've earned this. So are you going to keep hiding from me? Or are you going to come along and face me to get it? Come now, please don't be shy." She said cutely. Her lips quivering as her eyes searched from under her glasses for the boy in the fog. She procured a ball from her apron and returned her fainted Arbok to her Pokeball. The Shiftry was still infected with a nasty case of the poison. She brought out another item from her apron and held it up as well. "And I happen to have a cure for what ails your poor Shiftry." Ofering up more then one item to lure the boy out of the fog. He couldn't be that scared could he? Or was he just that dedicated to his craft. Come now, we both know the answer to this. The beautiful suppled woman held both items up like some kind of bar maid with the right assets. I'd come out of the fog for it! 9/46 ~Poisoned |

(( 0.3 :gexp. It's okay, man. I know we all have lives. I didn't exactly post every day either. *shrug* xD )) "Hope I didn't scare you too much, there." There was a distinct click of metal as Neuron suddenly emerged from the mist behind Helena. Despite having just won the Pokemon fight, the ninja was still wary; he didn't trust the sudden change of attitude coming from the girl. Perhaps it was really was a part of Helena's character to be that different when in and out of battle, since the difference was so drastic it was almost laughable. Nevertheless, Neuron still decided to play it safe. After all, what does he have to lose? From the comments the girl had made during the battle, Neuron knew he had decisively lost points in the eyes of the girl. He was not one to cry over spilt milk, however. It was not likely that he would be staying around anyways - he still had big plans on his agenda. There was no doubt that the two would have to part soon anyway if they had indeed got on better terms, so a tiny loss like this would not affect Neuron much. However, the shinobi decided that he still had a little time to spare for toying with this girl. Whether the change of character and lure was bait for a trap or not, Neuron was still interested to see what Helena was capable of. If it was indeed a trap, the ninja would very much like to see what she has in store for him. Putting his head close to her ear from behind, he whispered, "And to what pleasure do I owe for this nice gift?" Not waiting for her reply, he reached around with his other hand for the items that she held in hers, while keeping the kunai pointed at her back. He also made a pointed note to purposely brush the hand as he retrieved his winnings from the battle. |

His hands softly brushed against hers, but the shank behind her which she knew he had drawn. It's not everyday you hear a unsheathing. She said with the cutest little voice, she rolled her eyes and stood up straight. Placing her hands against her hips and took a stance. Staring at the young man with wandering eyes, scanning his frame up and down. Limber, a decent styled haircut and he knew how to match clothes. He wasn't a total loss, but he stayed in this ninja character way too often. Why did men have to be such a nuisance when it came to just being normal. They had to go out on a limb to brag about how big their sword was, or how long they polished it the night before. She only brushed her hands through her hair, playing with the ends as she shadowed her small infatuation with the boy with idle chit chat. "Best give your Pokemon the medicine. Or you're gonna have one passed out pile of a Pokemon. Me..ph...I'm sorry I seem to have forgotten your name in the heat of battle." |

((0.3 :gexp2, not that Seph is still around. But oh well. )) ***** OOC: So this is my comeback freeform. I really wrote it just to account for the two and half years that I've not been on the site for, and thus Neuron's been missing in action for. It started out as a freeform I had begun to work on prior to me leaving the site, to reap exp for the Ninkame I had just hatched. I shortened the story and changed it so that it would talk about why Neuron went AWOL for two and a half years instead. I guess the only thing I want to ask for out of this freeform is to be able to start Neuron up anywhere in Opaddeka (namely Little Hillmoss Town). Neuron's just been on the run for two and a half years, so it should theoretically make sense. Hope that's not too much to ask for? Oh well, it's not much, but I just wanted to be writing again. Hope everyone enjoys! ***** Prologue: The Acquaintance. "Long," the shinobi said. "Neuron Long." With an expert flick of his fingers, the kunai slipped back into its rightful holster. The woman named Helena breathed a sigh of relief. Despite her cool demeanor in handling the situation, it didn't feel very comfortable having a sharp weapon poking into your back handled by an unknown stranger. It was true that after the battle, Helena Quinn developed a slightly wavering submissiveness towards her opponent. She suddenly felt too open in the thick mist, and particularly vulnerable. Even with her disapproval of the trainer's self-proclaimed "ninja" antics, she couldn't help but realize that he was too unpredictable for her. Not only did she find herself being more captivated by the moment, but also more unsure of her own intentions. Was it really a good idea to be sticking around this Neuron Long character any longer? She hugged the clipboard yet closer to her chest tightly, the wood almost digging into her cold fingers painfully. She watched wearily from behind her spectacles as the ninja backed away from her and approached his Pokemon instead. The Shiftry in question had collapsed onto his back after the battle, panting heavily and his eyes unfocused. Her advice to her opponent had been timely; any longer delay in administering the medicine would result in a fainted Pokemon. She watched as the ninja, with surprisingly gentle care, sprayed the Pokemon with the bottle he had just taken from her three times, and then standing up to return all his Pokemon from the area with a brief shuffle of Pokeballs from his belt. She involuntarily took a step back. Although the reason remained unknown to her, the unease of the atmosphere intuitively told her to run away. But before she could run away, however, the clear voice of the man cut across the foggy air to her ears, freezing her in her tracks. "So you never answered me: what brings a pretty lady like you to these murky parts of the wilderness? He still had his back turned to her as he spoke the words; she could still run away. But something kept her dead in her tracks. Just as she had previously been compelled by some unknown force to retreat, something else was now pulling her towards this trainer. It was a stronger force, something warmer and more alluring. Her cheeks flushed; she could feel the heat radiating from the surface of her skin. I Before she knew it, she had stuttered out a response. Im here for leisure and information gathering, she said meekly, vaguely waving her clipboard awkwardly in front of her as an afterthought to point to her artwork. The man chuckled, seemingly at her embarrassment. She had a sharp intake of breath as the man stepped closer, his fierce silver gaze piercing into her own violet ones, unwavering. He was in front of her now, his body too close for comfort. Not only was his body inches away from her own, he was also leaning in towards her, causing her to naturally arch backwards uncomfortably. His eyes were like crystallized pools, deadly and icy, yet somehow comforting. She instantly began feeling more aware of the possibility of her rapid breaths reaching up to Neurons face. Hey, he suddenly uttered, startling the woman a little. She jumped slightly back and away from her former opponent, shying away slightly by turning to her side. He chuckled again, the laugh a strange sound against the dead silence of their surroundings. Take it easy, gal. You put up a good fight, but I mean you no harm. As if to put his words into action, he stepped back again. Still a little distrusting, she looked him over, scanning his lean, well-muscled body. Her thoughts had become jumbled, her heart raced. In short, she was unsure what to make of the situation, but knew against her better judgement that whatever she did, she had to stay with this man. Her exact intentions still slightly muddled, she waited on the man to take the initiative instead yet again. Perhaps Neuron took the hint; perhaps he didnt. Either way, he laughed slightly and spoke again, You looking for somebody to travel with then? His voice seemed less harsh now, almost musical, to Helenas ears. There seemed to be a more soothing and relaxing touch to it. She just wasnt sure whether it was real or simply from her imagination. Imemy, she stuttered, completely caught off guard. Pausing for a quick second, she gathered her thoughts and tried again, I mean, I wasnt but I dont mind Another chuckle. Ill take that as a yes, then. Cmon. He offered her his hand, reaching out with an open palm. But she started. His gaze from about his ninja mask finally softened slightly, as if to question her. Gathering up her determination, she spoke again, But theres something I want to sketch first. You go on ahead. Alright, he said, after a short pause. He was most likely thinking of a rebuttal, but dropped the idea due to unknown reasons. Turning around to walk against the lapping shoreline of the lake, he turned to call back, Just dont take too long, hmm? Try not to get left behind. She watched as his body diminished from her sight, slowly being clouded over and less distinguishable from the mist. There was something she had to do quickly before the mans silhouette disappeared completely from sight. Closing her eyes tightly, she took a deep breath, pursing her lips to exhale slowly yet forcefully. Her body stopped quivering, her cheeks cooled. Opening her eyes, she rummaged in her apron to take out a Pokenav, punching in a few numbers quickly. The fish had taken the bait. The net can be cast at Malral. Chapter 1: The Capture The trainers continued to walk side by side, not particularly speaking to each other. They had just arrived into the city of Malral District, where the mist had slowly lifted up and the trainers vision returned. Moving in from the outskirts of the city, Neuron and Helena were walking in a narrow alleyway, surrounded by dusty and old looking high-rises. The alley itself reeked slightly of garbage and rotting food, and Neuron wondered briefly how a seemingly classy girl could handle such a smell. He stole a glance at his companion. This was exactly how their entire journey had been from when they had met and battled a few days back in the mist until now upon their arrival into the more urban setting. They were sometimes close, but often distant. There would be words, but they were often too polite and formal, though once in a blue moon either of them, or both in an extremely rare case, would loosen up and offer or share a good laugh. And when they camped out at night, she would often pick a spot relatively far away from the ninja, except for that one night when the rain was heavy and she became extremely cold. Their interaction phased in and out almost randomly from being close friends to that of disgruntled acquaintances. She was sketching again on her clipboard now, paying no heed to the shinobi, her gaze far away into the distance as she artistically recorded the view of the District. Somehow the current situation seemed a little awkward, and slightly tense. At such a time when the two were independent in their own thoughts in the past few days, even their walking path would stray from each other. But the alleyway they were walking through currently brought Neuron too close to Helena for comfort, not because of the girl, but because of him not knowing what to make of the situation. Well, this wouldnt do, he thought to himself. They had been travelling together merely for the sake of having a companion in the god forsaken mist. The ninja realized that despite asking the girl why she was where he had met her, he had forgotten to find out what exactly her destination was. If anything, they might have to part ways soon, and if it was to be done on such awkward terms, it seemed too much of a waste to the proud ninja. The time for action was now. That much he knew. He didnt know exactly what it was that he was seeking, but he knew he would definitely regret something if this was how it would end. Without thinking through too much, he acted upon his first impulse of thought. He reached out his gloved hand for her waist, thinking of pulling her in closer. BOOM! The next thing he knew, all hell broke loose and Neuron could barely keep up with what was happening. Both buildings on either side of the two travellers seemed to have exploded into them. Dust and debris flew every which way in the air, and before the ninja could react, he had breathed in some of the muck and couldnt help but start hacking violently. He heard a shriek to his right, coming from Helena, and masses of shaggy whitish fur leaping about. Something zipped by behind him, bumping into the back of his legs and knocking the ninja off his feet. He landed painfully on his back, the side of his head knocking against a broken displaced brick. Continued screams from Helena, now seemingly behind him, and other guttural grunting sounds from humans and Pokemon alike reached Neurons ears. As his sight swirled around him, the ninja remained down, panting. His head was throbbing, and his throat was still rather dry from breathing in all the dust. As the dust finally settled, the situation that swam into view startled the shinobi so much that his eyes widened and he uttered out a single astonished squeak. Helena laid bound at her legs and by her arms behind her back, lying down on her front with three other people standing behind her. They were all familiar faces to Neuron familiar enemies each one of them. Her head was being held cruelly sideways against the cold pavement of the floor by a large hand. It belonged to a stocky man of a large muscular build known as Uagea, hunched over in a crouching position beside the captive girl. Behind them stood a leaner man named Suryf, decorated with countless battlescars on his body and an eye-patch, sporting two swords with intricate carvings on their hilts slung over his back. Neuron himself was surrounded by a multitude of Pokemon an Arbok, a Primeape, and a Vigoroth, to be exact. There was also a human girl, who went by the name of Glia, petite in stature but radiating a demonic aura all the same. GLIAAAAAA! Neuron roared. Almost instantly, he was up, swinging his body around to rush at the newcomer girl. Before he could even take a step towards her, however, he was swarmed by the three Pokemon. The ninja wasnt even given the time to react or counter; the Arbok had slammed its large head into Neuron digging into his abdomen. Almost instantly, he felt claws rake across his back, drawing trickles of blood into the air. The combined assault of a low frontal hit and a high attack from the back spun the ninja off his feet and into the air again. The next thing he knew, he was in the iron grip of the Primeape, who mercilessly flung him against the wall, the side of his face slapping against the brick wall near the hole which the Pokemon had made. Realizing he was outnumbered and it was foolish to fight an impossible battle, he sought for help the only way he could, his hand fumbling at his waist to detach three Pokeballs. He didnt have much choice half of his team were unconscious from his journey, and he knew he couldnt rely on Helenas Pokemon either because he had personally took them out in their encounter. He would have to release whats left of his team to even the odds, as unfit for battle as they were. His fingers finally found themselves curled around the orbs he was looking for, plucking them from his belt and flinging them against the ground in front of him. The ninja wasted no time. In the short instance that a wall of light shielded him from his attackers, he stood up best as he could, leaning against the broken wall for support. When the shinobi emerged from the spillage of light, he had two kunais drawn, one in each hand, in front of his face in some form of a defensive stance. Advancing him was a team of tattered but determined Pokemon, comprising of his prized avian the Pidgeotto, the quiet and sage-like Shiftry, and the new and inexperienced infant Turtwig. The three Pokemon all had different thoughts on the matter. The Pidgeotto, one of Neurons core team, was too used to a situation like this. The proud bird readily self-established herself to be the leader of the three, taking center stage and glaring at her opponents with a haughty dare. The Shiftry was silent, too, but of a different composure. He observed quietly with his dark little eyes, clouding his thoughts from all, even Neuron himself. His stance was somewhat more relaxed than his winged friend, but by no means less prepared to do battle. The young Turtwig was another matter altogether; the little Pokemon was emitting audible squeaks of fear, and was all too obviously trying to hide behind his two larger comrades. As impressive as they could possibly make themselves look, however, Neurons team was clearly the one that lacked experience. Before Neuron could even utter a syllable of an order, his enemies had all swung into action already. The scene exploded once more, with lightning action too fast for Neurons human reflexes to follow. Explosions of feathers, fur and leaves shrouded Neurons vision, until the battle-scarred man appeared right before him, both blades drawn, ready to cut him apart. At that instant, the ninja found his Pokemon the least of his worries; he couldnt even see where half of them were. He was only allowed the time to parry his attackers first strike, as Suryf unsheathed both sabres from his back and brandished them in Neurons face. He staggered back against the wall once more in his unpreparedness. Before he recovered, Suryf closed in again. Neuron pushed all thought out of his mind, and decided to concentrate on his own battle. ***** Kazekage had not seen where her attacker had come from. There was only a flash of pink and white, and the next thing she knew, she was sent sprawling backwards talons over head into the hole on a side of the building that looked freshly punched through, leaving a trail of scattered feathers. Her wings were bent awkwardly, and her left talon stung in a sensitive way; there was no doubt that she had sprained it. With a surprising amount of difficulty, she flipped herself over and managed to get on her talons, and saw a silhouette outlined against the wall by the outside light. Her enemy was one who was hunched over, but brimming with energy. His most notable features included an array of sharp claws that looked deadly enough to tear her into pieces, and the amount of drool that the beast left on the ground. The Vigoroth launched itself at her, claws poised. As best as she could with her sprained talon, she tried to back pedal, but failed miserably, skidding uncontrollably and spinning around. She was frustrated in her surroundings for the fight. It was a narrow passageway inside an old abandoned building, and the ceiling was low. It was everything that a Pidgeotto would not like to see in a battle. Her foe did not know the meaning of pity, however, and she will have to make do and struggle as best she could. She spread her wings, their tips almost touching the walls on either side, and took flight in wavering awkwardness. Her enemys claws just caught the tail end of her feathers, as she felt the chilling rush of wind from her behind. She flapped her wings desperately in the dead air of the building, something she was not very accustomed to. Soaring in the wind currents and manipulating them to her advantage were the types of battle she excelled in, but a situation where she was hemmed in on all sides with no winds to ride on would undoubtedly require a thrifty and intelligent strategic move on her part - if it was at all possible. Although the battle location inhibited all of Kazekages strong points, it proved to be an asset to her opponent. The slobbering Vigoroth continued to pressure the Pidgeotto, staying hot on her trail with his deadly claws always just missing inches from a lethal hit. The narrow hallway allowed the primate to use his powerful legs to spring off from the walls and ceiling in a very versatile fashion so that the bird had its attention quite fully occupied with avoiding him already, much less trying to think of a strategy. Kazekage continued to struggle, her wings on autopilot as they churned the air around her body to propel it forwards away from the menacing claws. She could feel that with each flap, she was getting more tired and more sore, and it would only be a matter of time when she gets fatigued enough to be caught up and sliced apart by her enemy. To make matters worse, the bird found herself bearing down on an ill-timed sight the end of the hallway. Certainly, there were opening doors to either side of her, but with the dead air in the building, any turn she attempted would require a slowing of her already retarded speed, and allow the chasing enemy behind her to catch up. Kazekage clearly did not want to be ripped to shreds quite yet. Suddenly, a sound that was music to the birds ears came. It was a very distinctive clang of metal. Perhaps the building wasnt as abandoned as the Pokemon had thought. Without warning, the buildings heating system kicked into order, and from the grates at the bottom of the side walls rose a welcoming billow of warm air. Without a second thought, the Pidgeotto stretched out her wings and let herself be carried along by it as she picked up speed and rode the pillar of air for flight support. The wall in her face was now coming unbearably close however and it was only a matter of seconds before she collided with it. Her keen eye found a doorway to her right just slightly before the end, and although she had a lucky break just now with the sudden arrival of a thermal current, she hadnt picked up enough speed to allow herself to manoeuvre to the best of her ability. But there was no other way, as it was the only choice left since turning around to fight wouldnt give her enough time to defend from the Vigoroths onslaught either. Determined, Kazekage folded her wings against her body and followed the rising pillar of air in a slanted dive at the wall. Behind her, she could still hear the roaring beast with the wind being sliced apart by his claws. Eying the doorway warily, she knew she would only get a split second chance. Now! she thought as she leaned to her right and banked a sharp turn. As her flight direction change, time seemed to slow down for the avian. She saw herself slipping out of the desired path and closed her eyes, willing herself to make it. She felt the left side of her brush gently against the frame of the doorway, and let out a sigh of relief as time seemed to be returned to normal. Throwing out her wings, she braked and skidded to a halt along the floor, her talon still smarting. Through the doorway, she could hear the loud crash of her enemy as he threw himself at the wall, having missed the Pidgeotto as she turned out of the way of his attack. It was payback time. Kazekage turned around slowly, a confident smile taking over her features. As Yumichika the Vigoroth staggered backwards in a daze from his crash, he came right into view of the doorway. Kazekage was ready. This time, she flapped her tired wings with a flare and determination. It was time to end this battle. Within moments, the avian had created a devastating swirl of air about her and with a final push, flung it against her enemy, who only recovered complete consciousness a little too late. As Kazekage rose in the air to one of the rafters in the room to roost, she heard the shrill scream of Yumichika as he was caught up in the tornado of wind and sent sprawling into the wall for a second time. This time, it wasnt likely that the Vigoroth would regain consciousness as fast as the powerful gust of wind propelled the Pokemon through the wall and back out into the alleyway. ***** When the battle started, it didnt take long for Ninkame the little Turtwig to find himself being stared down by the venomous Arbok, with a demonic grin on his face. The nervous newborn looked around for his two comrades; he was quite sure that they were a fair bit larger than he was and had done himself a favour by hiding behind them. But Kazekage had been tackled into the building behind him by the Vigoroth, and Jiraiya was already engaged in a battle not too far from Neuron with his own foe a little further down the alleyway. The Turtwig cowered in fear, shaking down to his feet as he looked up nervously once more at the Arbok, who now had raised his head tall, blocking out the sunlight and casting a dark evil shadow on the little one before him. With a squeak, the tiny Pokemon darted forward past the Arbok and dashed into the building in front of him, through the gaping hole that some of the enemies had seemingly appeared out of. It was just in time, too, as he heard a loud crash behind him where the Arbok had just struck with his fangs bared. Ninkame found himself in a large spacious warehouse of sorts, with only the odd piles of wooden crates here and there. The otherwise empty room was dimly lit with only a few ceiling lamps, mostly yellowed with long use and some even flickering. If being pursued by a much more experienced adversary than himself wasnt scary enough for the beginner Pokemon, the setting now definitely increased his fright to a new level. Fright was not going to get the little one anywhere better with his opponent, however. Ishida the Arbok hissed quite audibly behind him as the distance between the two was quickly gained with the Arbok's nimble speed. Once again, the Turtwig made a run for it, heading straight for the closest pile of crates. His eyes spotted a small gap in between two crates near the bottom of the pile, and the youngster thought that it would be hard for the chasing enemy to follow if he allowed himself to slip through it. No sooner had he taken a few steps as he made himself small and propelled himself through the gap, however, did he see a flash of purple behind him. The hissing was getting incredibly louder, and another shock of fright took over the little Pokemons body as he found that Ishida had already caught up to him. It was the only foolishness on Ninkames part to believe that such an unfeasible tactic would work, as Ishidas flexible body had gone through the gap with much more ease than his smaller quarry had. Another second was all it took for the Ninkame to find himself encircled in by the coils of the Arboks body. Hissing, Ishida struck again, fangs baring upon the younger Turtwig. But he was surprised to collide quite painfully against a cold smooth surface. Ninkame had retracted into his shell, and though he was hungry for a kill, the Arboks fangs could not find any flesh to sink into. Shaking almost uncontrollably now, the hiding Ninkame peered out from inside his shell. He could hear the angry hisses of the Arbok outside, and would not dare to poke his head out even for a second in this state. He heard strange sounds around him as he felt himself being showered by a liquid that the ferocious opponent was spewing from his mouth. Thankfully, his shell still protected him from the toxic sludge. The fury of hisses continued even as the onslaught of poison stopped. It was not like a seasoned warrior to continue attacking if it was futile. Through the small hole at the front of his shell, the Arbok swam eerily into view. The tip of the head passed by and the eye rose up, matching stares with the Turtwig cowering inside. Whether it was a planned clever move or simply a reaction of fright, Ninkame shot his head out from the shell, slamming it with all his might into Ishidas eye. The head reeled up and backwards with a high-pitched hiss, and Ninkame wasted no time in the moment, sprinting over the coils that trapped him and away from his enraged opponent. It didnt take long before the enemy recomposed himself and was hot on Ninkames trail yet again. The frightened Ninkame could only dart towards yet another set of crates, as he didnt have too much to work with. Dashing madly forwards as fast as his little legs could carry him, all the little Turtwig could do extra was wish with all his might that some stroke of luck would fall upon him. As the hissing became louder when the distance shortened once more, his beady little eyes noticed a new detail that he had missed previously as he bolted for the crates. It was very faint from wear, but now Ninkame could see that on each of the wooden crates was etched the initials TNT in red paint. The little one lifted his head skyward and was relieved to see one of the flickering lamps dangling just above the crates. Putting in a final burst of speed, he leapt through another hole in the oncoming pile of boxes. Ishida was not far behind him, powering through and closing the distance between him and his opponent in a furious race. He was absolutely livid, having been outsmarted by a little pipsqueak, and was determined to make quick work of it and redeem himself from the great embarrassment. As soon as his head was through the gap in the pile of crates, however, he saw the youngster grinning at him from the ground not too far away. A single leaf, sharp as razor, whipped out from his head as he swung it hastily. The Turtwig then turned tail and ran desperately yet again. The leaf missed the Arbok by a mile above his head. What it did hit, and cut through, however, was the wires of the flickering light above, and the lamp plummeted downwards into the boxes. The last thing Ishida remembered, having just landed from his jump through the gap a few inches in front of the box, was a deafening pummel of sound to his ears and a searing hot pain all down his back as he was knocked skywards into the air. ***** As soon as the battle started, Jiraiya the Shiftry found himself squaring off against the biggest of the three adversaries. In his sage-like way, Jiraiya had unfortunately made the mistake of staring calmly at his opponent as he tried to assess his ability. To which Ikkaku the Primeape replied in the most violent way possible. With an enraged yell, the Primeape had launched himself at the Shiftry, throwing forceful punches all around at the nick of speed. Immediately, Jiraiya knew he was disadvantaged in the matchup. Whereas he himself was built to be a long distance fighter based on strategy, Ikkaku was a physical brute whose expertise was in close combat. Now that Jiraiya had let his enemy within range, it would be extremely difficult to lose him in order to allow himself room and time to set up for a counter attack. Just simply parrying the oncoming blows was already difficult for the leafy Pokemon to keep up. Each time the burly fists missed, the Shiftry could feel the wind whistling past his face. And each time the punches connected, they hurted like hell. A left hook that Jiraiya couldnt block sent the Shiftry staggering backwards. Jiraiya knew he needed a plan, but he didnt really have time to think of one. His surroundings were narrow, and there were not a lot of places where he could conceal himself. That pretty much made losing his opponent unattainable. Then how was he to change this from a close combat fight, in which he was hopeless at, to a mid or long ranged one? Another uppercut connected with the Shiftrys chin and sent him reeling backwards, mouth clenched and almost having bit his tongue. Clearing his head and regaining balance, the Shiftry squared off against his opponent once more. If he took a few more hits like that, Jiraiya had no doubt that he would be knocked out soon. But it was also evidently needed as he needed to search his brain inside out for a nasty plot to twist the situation around and gain the upper hand, as doing that would make him lose temporary focus on the physical fight at hand. Suddenly, a low concentrated hit straight onto the stomach knocked the wind out of the losing Shiftry. Jiraiyas eyes bulged outwards with surprise from the force that the punch packed, his body immobilized. For what seemed like a long second, Jiraiya and Ikkaku traded stares, one glazing and the other glaring, just inches apart from each other. Then Jiraiyas body peeled itself off from Ikkakus knuckles and toppled over sideways, eyelids closing down on eyes that had rolled upwards as the body slammed down onto the ground lifelessly. Punching his fists into the air, the Primeape gave a loud victory crow. Giving the downed Shiftry before him a haughty kick, he turned about back towards humans. He waited no time in bounding forwards, swiftly wanting to join the fight that his human masters were engaged in. That was when a smirk wiped itself across Jiraiyas face, as the Shiftrys eyes opened again, full of life. In the din of the human weapons clashing against one another, the Primeape heard not a sound as Jiraiya picked himself up and dusted himself off. It was too late when a swarm of leaves sharp as razors swirled around him, entrapping the primate Pokemon. The storm then picked him off his feet and sent him spinning into the leafy blades as they returned the pain that the Shiftry had endured a hundred times over. ***** Neuron fared no better than his Pokemon. As much as he was prepared to do physical battle aside from relying on his Pokemon companions, it wasnt an area that he was an expert in, or for that matter, practiced very diligently in. That, in addition to wielding weapons that were not only inferior in quality but also with a shorter reach than his opponents, diminished all chance at all for Neuron to win. His body wasnt well-rested from his long journey either. His muscles ached, and his entire body felt too tense for him to move about freely. It wasnt long before an open gash on his forehead began spewing blood into his line of vision, and his left leg was almost paralyzed in place due to a gaping wound on his thigh. Struggling as he was, the fury boiling inside him for the woman named Glia now hiding behind her fighting comrade drove him to continue swinging his arms, no matter how much it hurted. As much as he wasnt advancing a single step rather, he was being pushed back quite continuously the many encounters of time past with these people combined with the current situation of holding his newfround friend, if you will, hostage kept the ninja fighting. It wasnt long until another roaring clamour echoed within the narrow alleyway, as an Arbok was blown tattered into view by an explosion from the left and an unconscious Vigoroth fell from skywards out of the building on the right. A flurry of leaves dancing in the air obstructed Neurons view momentarily, but when that cleared up, a bleeding and cut-up Primeape fell limp to the floor. The sight of his enemys fallen Pokemon gave a glimpse of new hope to Neuron, as well as relief. That, at least, meant that each of his three Pokemon, though inexperienced, tired, or wounded, had won their respective battles. As their trainer, the ninja would not stand to have himself be humiliated and lose in his own fight. But before this renewed vigour coursing through his body could move it to action, a shrill shriek could be heard cutting the air. Screw this, retreat! Though Neuron could not see her directly, the voice was unmistakably Glias. We got the girl, Neuron. Come find us if you want her back. Before he could react, a well-timed kick to his chest sent the shinobi sprawling backwards onto the ground. Another puff of smoke left Neurons vision clouded in grey and soon, there was nothing left but the trailing and echoing laugh of Glia. It was over, and he had lost. As his battered Pokemon sidled up to him, he gave an angry shout and slammed his fist against the ground in futile despair as he stared up at the sky lying on his back. Chapter 2: The Rescue Helena! Helenaaaaaaaa!! After the encounter, Neuron had ran or fast-hobbled, in his best imitation of running with an injured leg through the streets of the Malral District calling out her name. His Pokemon companions had escaped from their respective skirmishes safely for the most part, but was unable to be of much help in their current states and thus the ninja had returned them to their resting quarters in the Pokeballs. Hobbling along on a wounded leg aimlessly around the streets, it was easy to fathom why he caught the attentive glances of many passer-bys on the street. Many of them, too, were not exactly too friendly for the most part, considering the crowd that gathers in this town. But somehow or another, they stayed away from him, and Neuron did not attract any further trouble. His luck, however, in finding his captured acquaintance was non-existent at this point. It probably wasnt a very good method of searching anyway, but in his desperate state of having been thrown into the situation, he had acted upon instinct. Even had he found her, he was in no shape to go through yet another battle. The settling night sky found Neuron limping along dejectedly in the end to the towns local Pokemon Centre, where he decided to stay and rest up for the time being. He knew his enemies all too well. They were by far and large more experienced than him, and he only got out of every last encounter from them with some luck and help. Neither of which, he knew, could or should be relied upon. If he was to stand a shot against them at all, he needed to be in his top physical shape. As did his allies. The next couple of days saw Neuron camping down in his rented room at the Pokemon Centre, venturing out only ever so briefly for food once in awhile. As soon as the nurses had treated his Pokemon since the first night, two shadows would depart from the room under his orders before the sun had rose, and come reporting in during the midnight hour. These were none other than Neurons pair of tracking Pokemon, Kazekage the Pidgeotto with her keen eyesight like no other and Cerberus the Mightyena with his acute sense of smell. Neuron knew the task would not be easy; despite trusting whole-heartedly in the skills of his companions, he also understood the calibre that his opponents were at. Glia, Uagea and Suryf were shinobis of an organization called the Tooboukage, ninjas who operated in the shadows. He had a great deal of history with them, and the ninja have had the misfortune to find out that even his life story was affected by them as they had a hand in his parents murder. Glia and company were foes that Neuron had been chasing for a long time, and at that, they had mentioned once that they were only lowly grunts in their respect. Neuron couldnt even fathom how strong other warriors of the Tooboukage could be. Back to the present, the way his enemies had disappeared from the incident, Neuron wasnt even sure if there was a scent left for Cerberus to trace. Needless to say, as keen as Kazekages eyesight was from the air, not knowing what she was looking for meant her mission was like finding a pin in a haystack. Yet Neuron patiently waited, and the pair of Pokemon worked hard. Despite bringing the disappointment of no leads day after day, they began each day with a renewed vigour for their mission. After all, the ninja did not want to have been the cause of somebody elses misfortune. The Tooboukage were clearly staging another attack on him and him alone, and Helena had just been unfortunate to be caught up in the middle of it all because she was traveling with the shinobi at the time. Though Neuron may seem cold at times, he wasnt one to let innocent lives be harmed due to his own personal conflicts with others. Five days later, his endurance finally paid off as Kazekage swooped in from the window a little earlier than usual. The sun had only just set, and Neuron was just finishing the last bit of pizza that had been his dinner that night. Not soon after, Cerberus also slipped back into the room from the outside. Both Pokemon waited for their trainer patiently. Not a word was exchanged, but the heavy tension in the air could be felt. Cramming the last pieces of food in his mouth, the ninja picked himself up and pulled the mask from his chin back over the lower portion of his face. He picked up his arsenal of weapons which housed both his Pokeballs and his ninja kunai knives and flung the belt around his waist, pulling out his metal plated gloves and putting them on. He gave his fingers a stretch and then clenched his fists. Lets go, he said simply. The fact that his Pokemon had returned early meant that they had found what they were looking for, and five days was more than enough for Neuron to rest. In fact, he was brimming with energy and was looking for a good chance to release it and get rid of his problems as soon as he could. Without a word, the trio exited the building and the canine and avian began leading the way, running or in the Pidgeottos case, flying at a rather brisk speed. To Neuron, it felt good to be on the move again. The dark was the ninjas element, after all. His Pokemon led him back to the outskirts of town, but not very far. Had he paused to think, Neuron would perhaps be wondering why his enemies had fled such a ridiculously short distance. But he was itching to return the favour of the surprise attack he had received a few days ago, and if any thought even flitted across his mind, they were brief and pushed to the back very immediately. He was up on a rocky ledge overlooking a small run-down shack. Candlelight flickered dimly out from the windows, and two quite recognizable beasts stood by the doorway, as if stuck on guard duty. The Vigoroth was pacing about excitedly, while the Primeape sat surprisingly with his eyes closed and fists together. Both were bandaged up a little bit. Neuron smirked. At least he had the advantage of having had his Pokemon cared for properly. It felt good to be the one doing the attacking. Backing away from the edge of the ledge to not be seen, Neuron released the rest of his Pokemon from their Pokeballs with one swift movement from his hand. Since visiting the Pokemon Centre in town, Neuron had switched back to his core team aside from the newborn Ninkame, and now the little Turtwig stood alongside Kazekage and Cerberus, as well as Sparklett the Raichu and Stalker the Wartortle. Neuron hadnt brought along a sixth Pokemon. Crouching down, he patted Ninkame on the head. He was probably the only one that needed reassurance. The other four had all come to face Glia and the Tooboukage before, and were well seasoned warriors of Neurons team. They understood what was expected of them perfectly, and didnt quite need the trainer to spell it out. Remember, Neuron spoke to his team of assembled Pokemon, this is a rescue mission. Lets retrieve Helena and get out of there, we dont know how many numbers they have. Make sure you give me a clear route to our objective. Aside from the Turtwig who looked a little bewildered and confused, the rest nodded. Neuron lifted a hand in the air, and wagged his fingers forward. And the onslaught began. In a flutter, Kazekage had launched herself into the air, and dived down for the Primeape standing guard. The darkness of the night combined with the element of surprise allowed no room for the fighting Pokemon to react, and he found himself slammed forcefully backwards into the wall. The pacing Vigoroths head quickly snapped around at the sound, but before he could proceed to help, Cerberus had emerged from the shadows behind him and trapped his throat in his maw. It didnt take long for the canine to wrestle his victim to the ground. Four figures quickly flitted through the pairs of fighting Pokemon and into the doorway. Neuron and the remainder of his team Sparklett, Stalker, and Ninkame found themselves in a short hallway. They cleared it in a matter of seconds and kicked open another door, finding themselves in the main room of the shack. In a corner to the left laid a large purple Arbok as well as a Poochyena and Mightyena, all of them known to be Glias Pokemon. Two men, one stocky and the other lean and both very familiar, were playing cards just ahead of them. Glia herself was sitting comfortably on a couch at the very back, slouching backwards and surveying the scene with a haughty glare. Helena was bound just a little behind Glia, hanging slightly off her feet, by a piece of rope that hung down from a rafter in the ceilings. Well if it isnt our little Garou, she sneered, calling Neuron by his birth name. Neuron suddenly signalled outwards with his left hand, and Sparklett spun into action. She leapt into the air and in the way of the Pokemon in the corner, who had all gotten up from their resting positions and were about to pounce on the intruders. A well-timed thunder based attack that the Raichu sent their way in mid-air quickly paralyzed all three from any thoughts of attacking. In the same moment, Neuron and Suryf had each drawn their respective weapons. A kunai danced its way into Neurons right hands as his swordsmen enemy unsheathed both sabres from his back. But instead of attacking, the ninja merely signalled with his left hand again with another waving motion. Just as Suryf leapt to strike at Neuron from where he was at the table, a brown blur streaked past Neurons head and protected the ninja from both sword strikes. The object was spinning, and both blades were deflected harmlessly off of it with a ping. With a yell from within her shell, Stalker drove herself spinning into the stomach of the attacker, crashing with him into the table. The other man was already up and working what he knew best. Uagea was an expert trapper with thin threads, and though Neuron could not see where they were, he saw the fingers of the bigger man moving around the air quite feverishly, a feat that was deemed almost impossible for his build. But Neuron had no time to waste; he had to get to Helena quickly. Ninkame! he cried. Although the Turtwig was still confused as to what each of Neurons signals could possibly mean, he at least knew right now that his trainer needed him to bail him out. That much he could understand and do. With a determined look on his face, he fired a flurry razor sharp leaves into Neurons path, ripping apart any trap that Uagea could have diligently set for the ninja. Neuron leapt through and continued to make a beeline for the captive Helena. Oh no, you dont! Glia cried, picking up a small blade beside her. Her speed was incredible as well, too fast for Neuron to follow. She was beside him in a split second with not enough time for the man to react. As she swung her blade, however, Neuron kept his focus. Just as he told his team of Pokemon, he knew that his primary concern was achieving their mission, which was retrieving Helena. Glia may be beside him about to deal a blow that he could not parry, but so long as she was not in front of him and his way, it didnt matter. He cried out and staggered forwards slightly as he felt the blade dig into his shoulder and drew blood. He only continued on determined, without paying any heed to his attacker. But before Neuron could reach her, Glia had used her speed and some ninja arts to appear in front of him yet again, blocking his way. Without over-thinking it too much, Neuron launched himself into the air, turning as he did so. He landed a perfect roundhouse kick across Glias face that knocked her to the side and conveniently out of the way. Through it all, Neuron hadnt stopped to think for once that everything had been too easy. The kunai knife twirled amongst his fingers as he made quick work of the ropes that bounded Helena and hung her from the ceiling off her feet. Helping her down gently, he grabbed her shoulders at arms length and asked her worriedly, Youre okay, right? They didnt hurt you too bad? It was then that Neurons eyes bulged outwards in surprise as he felt cold steel penetrate his body just a little above the waist. He stared at Helena, who had produced a weapon from somewhere and now held it in place in Neurons midriff. The womans features were rather expressionless. Helena took a step in, digging the kunai in Neurons gut deeper, twisting it painfully. Coughing up blood that was held back by his ninja mask, Neuron found himself immobilized and couldnt move. Leaning in to put her head beside the male shinobis, she whispered in his ear, The kunais been laced with poison, youll be losing all your senses soon. Im sorry, Neuron, but this whole thing was a trap. Im a member of the Tooboukage. His brow furrowed with sweat, Neuron winced once more, eyes staring into the distance, before he keeled over and lost consciousness. Edited by mephistopheles, May 21 2010, 12:27 AM.

Chapter 3: The Disappearance Neuron awoke, his vision still hazy at first, as he lifted what felt to him was like a ton of bricks over his eyes. Slowly but surely, the sight of a not very interesting ceiling swam into view. Something was spinning around and around in front of it, and looking at it already gave him somewhat of a headache. Some kind of machinery whirred nonchalantly in the background. As soon as he had gathered his wits about him, the ninja sat up with a jolt. He winced, hacked a cough, and fell back spread-eagled onto the soft bed. He was bandaged up a fair bit, and it restricted his movement. I wouldnt do that if I were you, a familiar voice said softly. A little painfully, Neuron turned his head a little bit to spy a woman sitting at the foot of the bed with her back to him. She was clothed in nothing but a bathrobe, and her hair was still a little wet, probably having just come out of the shower. Despite only seeing her back and the lack of the magenta dress with the apron which he was accustomed to seeing her with, the voice, the dark hair, and the olive skin gave her away to be his recent acquaintance Helena Quinn. Suddenly, thoughts of her supposed capture, his rescue attempt, and her unexpected betrayal leading to the reason he was wounded rushed back into him like a tidal wave. HELENA! he roared as he tried to get up upon instinct again. Without too much effort, she backhanded him across the face, and the male shinobi fell down upon the bed once more, this time cursing his weakness internally. Didnt you hear me? she stated yet again, I wouldnt do that if I were you. As if it was an afterthought, she added, Youre in no condition to fight yet. Neuron laid there panting. He slowly surveyed the room. They were in what appears to be in a small dingy motel room, with boarded up windows and a musty smell. The paint in many places on the walls was cracking and peeling, and the room itself was only decorated with the most basic of furniture. In fact, the lone chair in the room was tilted, having only three legs to support it. His next impulse was screaming at him to spring up and try again, after all that she has put him through, but the logical part of him held him back. Something was a little off. The second time she talked to him was not like the first. Her voice was a little shakier, and she seemed to be gasping for air. Neuron couldnt see it with her back to him, but it almost was as if the woman was breaking down in tears as she said it. Slowly, Neuron picked himself up and crawled over to the foot of the bed sluggishly. The woman was sitting with her feet up on the bed, knees tucked into her chest and bound by her arms. She had hidden her face in between her knees and Neuron couldnt make out if his hunch was right. He got down from the bed to face her, and some part of the fury inside him died away a little. Helena? She gave no answer, but didnt look up either. She didnt make any movement, but stayed absolutely still, her head tucked into her knees, curled up into an upright fetal position at the end of the bed. Confused, Neuron tried again, Helena? Her body was quivering now, ever so slightly, but enough for Neuron to notice. He was at a complete loss for what to do. Before he could make a decision, she was shaking very visibly, and it wasnt long before a voice of agony echoed out from within the cavern she had made with her own human body. It was a piteous wail, high-pitched and wavering, interjected by wracking sobs that seemed like she was trying to gasp in large amounts of air. Still not knowing what to do, Neuron could only venture one more time, Helena? At this, she finally raised her head, bawling like mad. Her face was tear streaked, and they were still brimming and leaking from her eyes at the moment. She opened her mouth to speak, but only more incomprehensible wailing ensued, completely baffling the male ninja before her. After all, he was the one who was betrayed by her and stabbed in the gut by her, so why was she the one entitled to crying her eyes out? He didnt even understand what was there to cry about for her in the first place. Despite it, the mood of the room had just completely killed the shinobis fire somehow. Mumbling slightly, he asked, Whats wrong? She opened her mouth to try again, but it took a few more attempts before she could speak in a manner that Neuron was able to understand. And even at that it was still hard, as the words came out a pile at a time and interlaced with more hiccups and sobs. I I c couldnt do it! she sobbed. Couldnt do what? he inquired softly, almost soothingly. I couldnt couldnt kill you! she blurted, They wanted you dead, but I just I just couldnt bring myself to do it! I took took you, gave gave you the an antidote and ran! They Theyre going to come for me! I betrayed the clan! Theyre gonna kill me! Theyre gonna kill me! Seemingly to have gotten into the flow of her pace, her sentences became easier to pick up, but at the same time became shriller and more piercing in pitch. Reaching his arms out, Neuron sighed and pulled the wreck of a woman into a firm hug, pressing her head against his beating chest and stroking her hair soothingly while whispering words of reassurance to her. There was nothing else he could do really. The other arm was wrapped around her back and patted her shoulders gently. And they stayed like that for a good while, exchanging repetitive phrases such as frightful utterings of, Theyre gonna kill me! and I couldnt do it! to soft hushes of, No theyre not and Dont worry, everythings okay. Neuron continued to hold the shivering woman in his arms, feeling compelled to do so by the same power that had ordered him to travel with her a few days ago. It was a long time before Helena settled down and only emitting the occasional sob that jarred the whirring of the fan above. Neuron couldnt help but look down at the top of the head that he held against his chest, which was now beating more profusely than ever. Unable to resist it any longer, he laid his lips down on top of her head, and pecked it softly, tussling her hair slightly in the process. Neuron slowly crouched down to her eye level, staring deeply into her eyes as his hands gently removed her glasses and put them aside, and then brushed the hair from her face. Her lip quivering, she stared back at him, waiting for him to make a move. Stroking her cheeks softly, he leaned in and kissed her. And then he kissed her again. At first, she gave no response, but after the second kiss, Neuron felt her hands on his body, snaking around his neck as she leaned backwards on the bed and pulled him on top of herself. And as Neuron reached back to pull her arms off him and pin them against the bed above her, fingers interlocking with hers, the rest of the night was history. ***** This time, Neuron awoke with a start. He was lying on his back yet again, but there was warmth all down his left side, and his arm was wrapped around someone. A bit of a weight rested on his bare chest, and it seemed to be breathing steadily so that the exhaled wind tickled him ever so slightly. He angled his head upwards to look down at Helena sleeping soundly on her side, one arm around his waist and the other flung upwards, with her left leg on his. He looked back upwards at the ceiling. The fan was still whirring steadily, and he closed his eyes. For a good period of time, Neuron just laid there, breathing softly, enjoying the moment of laziness in his sloth. Exhaling in a soft sigh, he slowly worked himself out from under her, taking great care to not wake her. It took a little longer than expected, but when he did finally manage to sidle out from her and lay her head down gently on the pillow, he grabbed a towel and closed the door behind him as he entered the bathroom. The knobs squeaked as he twisted them to turn the shower on. The spray of water felt cool to his bare skin, drenching his long silver hair quickly so that the water seemed to trail down each individual strand to fall onto the floor as he leaned forward with his arms supported by the wall. What the hell am I doing? he thought to himself, closing his eyes tightly and clenching his teeth. What was I thinking? Angrily, he pumped his fist into the wall. It was clear why the shinobi would be angry with himself. He was supposed to be one without emotions. There were great things in life he was intended to do. That he wanted to do. Any attachments whatsoever could only be a bad thing, ultimately leading to his ruin. Ninjas were supposed to be merely tools used to complete missions, void of feelings, lacking emotions. Yet, only last night, he had caved in and let it control his actions, thus breaking this elementary rule. He stayed in the shower for a long time, letting the water pour over him without moving too much as he collected his thoughts. Perhaps, he was metaphorically waiting to be cleansed thoroughly of the thoughts that misguided him yesterday, and for him to break any feelings of attachment while it was still early. He closed his eyes and just simply stood there for a very long time. When he came out of the bathroom, Helena was still seemingly asleep, her back to him. It was the perfect moment to leave before more could happen, and Neuron was determined to do so. Picking his clothes off from the floor, he silently dressed himself. Collecting the rest of his belongings, Neuron intended to hurry to the door without even saying goodbye and felt a tug on his pant leg. Helena was wide awake, and it was her who now held onto his leg. She was sitting up in the bed, and her other hand held the bed sheets over her chest, covering her glorious olive-skinned body. There was a look of bewilderment in her features. Where are you going? Iuhh, Neuron stuttered. He hadnt really accounted for the situation where she could possibly awake, and wasnt prepared to put through conversing his way out. Im sorry, he finally stated, flatly. Please, she whispered, Dont go. You cant. Tears seem to well up in her eyes out of nowhere yet again. Im sorry, Neuron repeated. Dont leave me alone. I betrayed the clan, and the Tooboukage wouldnt ever let a traitor like me go easy. Ive got nothing left for me if even you abandon me. Im a goner if you leave me. Although tears were falling down her cheeks again, she seemed to be in a little more control than last night, and more level-headed. She was able to speak her mind a lot clearer. Just stay with me. Well find a nice little place somewhere far away where nobody knows us. And just live a peaceful life, just the two of us. I Please, she whimpered, Do it for me? He looked briefly at her and then turned his gaze skyward. It was almost pathetic, but he found himself unable to stare at those wide eyes, that looked like they were about to tear up. Deep inside, he hated to admit that this could be a weakness of his, but the undeniable truth was being forced in his face at this moment. Helena continued to cling onto the Neuron, so that he was unable to walk a step, much less leave the room. With both hands holding onto his right arm, she would occasionally tug at it weakly, whimpering some words that he really couldnt make out. The only sounds that filled the room were her sobs. In the end, the shinobi was unable to resist. He kissed her softly on the top of her head and pulled her into his embrace. Alright. Edited by mephistopheles, May 21 2010, 12:10 AM.

Epilogue: Neuron Shippuden It was dusk before morning, and everything all around were still stripped of their colours in a monotonous daylight of sorts. A lone figure stood on top of a mound at the perimeter of a kilometre wide crater, staring into it. Aside from the rubble of what seems to have been a structure that had been previously stationed there, the crater was rather empty. And yet, it was very out of place, located in the middle of a well-forested area. The figure itself was not decked out by any significant garments. All that could be seen was a cloak whose backdrop was as black as night but was ornamented with the twisting body of a ferocious silver dragon that seemed to glitter with malice. The figure had the hood up and way over his eyes, so that it casted a shielding shadow over his face that yielded nothing to the sight of any spectator. A few odd strands of silver hair flowed outwards from the hood and swayed gently in the air. Neuron, is that you? A girl dropped from the foliage of the trees and emerged from the forest to approach the figure. She looked like she was wearing a full one piece suit, but pink bands around the ankles and wrists gave the impression that gloves and boots were being worn. Her hair was snowy white, tied at the back of her head with another pink hairband where it exploded like shrapnel afterwards. But the most noticeable feature of this girl was her unique honest green eyes. She was yet another familiar face to the figure; but this time, a familiar ally named Dainou. She heard no answer from him but was not deterred. After all, she had been sent on many missions to observe him and had worked with him in situations past. There was no mistaking the person before her to be the one that was the main topic of talk in the elders council of the village that she hailed from. Neuron, where the hell have you been? She inquired, raising her voice a little in obvious anger. Weve been trying to find you for close to two and a half years now! How did you manage to stay off radar for so long? Even the best of our ANBU squads couldnt track you! Synapse-sama had been worried sick about you!... In her pent-up anger, the shorter woman had spewed forth many more words, but all the same, they fell deaf upon the figures ears. Finally, in a short lull of her accusing barrage, she took in for the first time the scene of destruction before her, and was visibly and audibly taken aback. Oh my God she whispered hoarsely. What have you done Neuron?! Too long, he muttered. The voice was cracked and very hoarse, as if his throat was parched and dry. Two and half years. Ive been gone from this world for too long. She couldnt see his face. It remained hidden in the shadows, but she wasnt sure she wanted to either. Hearing his voice alone already sent shivers down her spine. Although she couldnt quite put her finger on it, he didnt exactly sound like the Neuron that she knew. It wasnt particularly anything to do with the quality of the voice, but perhaps the tone that seemed to linger around it. Its been two years since Ive been in this world, he stated yet again, as if seeking affirmation from himself. Far too long. Dainou remained silent. She wasnt sure what to do anymore. Before the actual encouter, she had thought it was a stroke of luck that they were finally able to get hold of some news of the whereabouts of her friend. But now the reality that it was Neuron who had finally decided to let them find him dawned upon her and the realization that Neuron perhaps wasnt the rookie ninja she once knew anymore frightened her to no end. Thoughts of how he had gained new power, where his current alignment was, and what his thoughts were polluted with during the process, paralyzed her in place. The silence, however, seemed just as deadly, just as uncomfortable. The kunoichi willed herself to break the silence. What do you plan to do now, then? She asked almost inaudibly in their surroundings. She closed her eyes, her body tensing up naturally. There wasnt one situation she could think of where the answer would be a good one. But the figure offered only dead silence yet again. It was a long time before his voice cut through the morning air. This time, it was less hoarse, and much crisper. It was as if he was making a challenge to the world. It is time, he said, to show the world the face of my revenge. At that moment, the sun rose above the horizon and threw its brilliance amongst the world of chaos around them, and the wind picked up to blow a gentle yet firm breeze across the two ninjas. The mans cloak caught the full glory of the breeze and billowed out behind him, displaying his physique for the first time that day. It was then that something on the mans right hand blinded Dainou temporarily with a glittering glare. Aside from a minor attire change where the male ninja was now wearing a white glove on his left hand, a gem studded ring also rested upon his finger. The jewel was a bright orange in colour, and an encompassing and overwhelming aura seemed to flow from it as it reflected the early sunlight defiantly to all around it. An oriental character for the word "sky" was etched onto the gem. When Dainou could open her eyes again, the figure had already begun walking away from her. She stood frozen in spot, unsure of what to do anymore. Finally, the figure raised an arm in a static wave, something that Dainou was familiar with. And she wasnt exactly sure, but she thought she could hear the wind carry his whisper back at her, Dont worry, Ill keep in touch. A hopeful smile flickered across Dainous face. Perhaps, she thought. Perhaps there was still hope to bring him back. The End. Edited by mephistopheles, May 20 2010, 11:58 PM.

Random bits: I felt that Yumichika's name was suddenly just thrown out at random during the fight, but the chase scene was interesting to visualize. Ninkame was just born, right? How did he learn to read so quickly? Hmm... At any rate. TNT. Shit yeah! But again... How did Ninkame get away from the blast fast enough? Splash damage is serious business. "Five days later, his endurance finally paid off..." maybe Persistence, instead? A few comma splices. Nothing big. Vigoroth is a Normal Type Pokemon. Signaled. One "L." Helena's dialogue: "Im sorry, Neuron, but Im a member of the Tooboukage." - I felt that this was pretty much self-explained. Maybe it was just me. "Synapse-sama" - I couldn't imagine anything except something in the brain. NERD MOMENT. I still don't really see the reason why Helena and Neuron would have wanted to travel together in the first place. At least on Neuron's part. He couldn't possibly be that lonely? However, it's just a personal opinion type thing, more than a loose end or detracting. Also, keep in mind not all of us know Ninja Terminology. A glossary would be nice. To be honest, a little more bad than good, but only by a small margin. The battle scenes were lackluster, but not drawn out enough to be dull. A balance of length and quality. However, I remember you stating that you edited some, so I went back and cross-referenced, so you get a better score. Hurrah! A nice open-ended ending. Looking forward to a sequel of sorts.
