Current Landmark - Barrier Mountains Next Landmark - Ravine Final Destintion - Y'orek Town Cup of - 0.0 It had been a short night's sleep. Zero had gotten into Welly extremelly late the night before, and he had work to do even when he arrived. He quickly had to heal his Piplup before, sadly, trading it away in the splendid world of Poketechopia. He remembered every detail of the night vividly. The feeling that overcame his body when he pressed his cold, wet hand against the shiny screen of the poketech. He remembered the smile on Ryu's face when the deal had officially gone through. He remembered his inquiring about Team Rocket, and to Zero, all of it just seemed so surreal. It wasn't that Zero didn't like Galloway, his new Exeggcute, but it was a blow to his emotions when Zero gave away the pokemon that allowed him to start his adventure. Zero knew that what was done was done though, and that he would get along with Galloway the same, if not better, than he did with Piplup. Zero had not spent a long period of time with Galloway though, so he wasn't completley sure what type of pokemon he was. He knew he was an Exeggcute, grass and psychic type, and he knew the moveset, but he was flying blind on the idea of the pokemon's temperment. Without thinking, inside his quiet room at the Pokemon Center in Welly Village he released his newly obtained partner. Galloway, still slightly confused about his location, bounced, in formation, from corner to corner of the room. Suprisingly he was quiet, not making a single sound as he examined his new surrounding. Galloway obvious cared about his trainer even though he had never met or even interracted with him. Zero then remembered something that Ryu had said to him before he left Poketechopia. "He was always in my box, and I know that putting him into an active party will do him good. Thank you," He said to Zero in the final moments of his first stay in the Cafe'. Zero deeply took this to heart, and knew that he would do his best to raise Galloway into his stage of full potential, although before any of that happened Zero knew that they would have to connect. Zero tip-toed over to his new pokemon and kneeled down on one knee. "Hi there Galloway, I'm your knew trainer." He whispered to his pokemon as he put his hand on the egg that laid in the middle. As if they were in the army, each of the eggs turned and stared at their new trainer in perfect unison. This perfect example of cooperation actually made Zero flinch backwards for a few seconds before scratching his ear to try and cut the tension of the awkward moment. Zero took out a peace of pork that his mother had packed him two nights before and began to feed it to Galloway. Galloway surrounded the piece of meat and slowly began distributing the food to each of the eggs serperately. Zero was happy to see the natural cooperation among the eggs that made up the Exeggcute. He had heard rumors that they were violent with each other, and it made them harder to control, but Galloway seemed, to Zero, to be a fairly docile and controllable creature. When the Exeggcute finished his short meal they each turned toward Zero, again in the perfect, army-like, unison that yet again made Zero flinch. Zero could tell that this is just the way his new pokemon operated and he would have to get used to it. All that Zero hoped for now was that Galloway would accept him as his trainer after the generous offering of meat. Zero wanted nothing more then to be on the same page as his partners, or else he knew it could lead to repeating a similar event as the night before. Galloway let out a wry smile towards his new trainer trying to express the fact that he had accepted him, and that they were ready to go through the rest of their journey, hopefully together. Even though Zero had gained Galloway's acceptance he knew that three o'clock in the morning was to early to start so he called Galloway back to his pokeball, went back into bed, and continued his peaceful slumber. Zero couldn't help but smile. He had finally escaped the raging waters of the river, and even though he had early signs of a cold, nothing felt better to him at that exact moment then the warm air against his body. Still wet from the night before he flailed his head in every direction to try and get the few remaining bits of water out. With his hair almost dry and the sun almost up Zero couldn't help but run to the bottom of the Welly Village boards and continue his journey which had been rudely interupted the night before. Zero did have something to show remorse over however. He had traded the night before, his starter pokemon Piplup for a Team Rocket member's Exeggcute. He couldn't help but feel sorry for his tiny old friend, but he just hoped that when he got to Y'orek and joined Team Rocket that he would be forgiven by Piplup for the way he dealt him off to that mysterious Team Rocket trainer like military command would abuse the life of a petty soldier for the imminent success of a high priority military operation. Although Zero felt sorry he was also happy with the pokemon he received in return. Exeggutor had always been his favorite pokemon, and Zero knew that trading for Galloway was the first step to completing his dream team. Another bonus was that Galloway was level 7 and slightly more experienced in battle situations than his old Piplup. Zero wasn't exactly sure how this power boost was going to help, but some voice inside of his head told him it most definatley would. The day was born, as the summer sun overtook the partly cloudy sky, and gave to Zero, the most beautiful sight he had ever laid his eyes on. The way the light bounced of the boards that encased Welly Village was so splendid that Zero began to shield his eyes, in fear that a God had landed somewhere inside the village itself. Zero knew that Welly was reknowed for her beauty but he never thought it would be the way it was. As beautiful a sight as it was, Zero knew he had to at least try and get to Y'orek before nightfall. The way the beauty of Welly overcame Zero, and another thought began to be overtaking his mind. Zero had also heard that Y'orek, and the area around Y'orek was so incredibally dirty and poisonous that you would have to be crazy to live there. Of course Zero didn't take this source's credibility to seriously, and truthfully, didn't beleive that it could be as dirty as described. The realization came to Zero that every little detail came as advertised out in the world outside of Hillmoss, and he would have to get used to it immediatley, or else someone else would be there to take his place in an instant. As Zero left Welly he knew he was leaving the incredible beauty that was Welly and entering, of his own will, into what was described as the most inhabitable piece of real estate on the planet. Zero contemplated his decision once more, hoping with every fiber of his body that he was right. He began to doubt his motives. "Is Team Rocket really worth it, should I really go there. I could just stay around here for awhile and train Galloway. No, no, I can't. I have to go on or I will never progress." Zero began to ramble to himself through his own thoughts. He quickly flailed his head back and forth again; trying to 'shake' away the doubtful thoughts that plagued his mind. Zero had finally gotten out of visual range of Welly Village, and as he left he let out a loud, over-exagerated sigh. He was happy that the doubtful thoughts had now turned into thoughts of weary confidence and cocky pride, but he also knew that he very easily could've made a decision that put both his and Galloway's journeys in peril. Zero knew that this was no time to reminis. This was the path he'd chosen, and he knew he would try to make the best of it, even if the best wasn't as positive as he had previously hoped. Finally, after an hour of walking and contemplating he had reached his first landmark, the barrier mountains. The mountains stood tall in front of him, blocking his view of the poisoned plains that laid on the other side. Zero nodded to himself as he spotted the trail that led towards Y'orek. The trail was very narrow and Zero wouldn't bet against the fact that it was also fairly dangerous, but Zero knew that this way he could reach Y'orek the quickest, and hopefully with the fewest negative repurcussions. Zero stood, eyeing the mountains from every possible angle. It was like in war films, it was as if his commander was testing him. Most other people would most likely take this as a challenge and it would actually elevate their own level of performance, but Zero took the easy way out and scowered the mountains for the next path through. Luckily he found the path, and continued his journey through the barrier mountains as happy as he had ever been. |

.4 (You normally shouldn't have been able to go straight to the Barrier Mountains, but I would hate to waste a post like that, I'll let it slide.) You journeyed through the mountains, Galloway at your side, for some time without interruption. The interruption was the sound of a slithering snake, and a few hisses as it tasted the air. The scent of egg was tantalizing. It weaved its way to you, and jumped at your group of eggs! ![]() Lv. 10 20/20 (Wantz yo' eggz) |

((OOC: Thank you for letting it slide. I'll be more careful nextime, I hope)) 0.1 Zero was stunned at the diving Ekans and could only watch as luckily Galloway dodged. The Ekans slithered back to the the other side of the path, obviously expecting a battle. All Zero could do was look at his pokemon and nod before quickly shifting his sites towards the over-excited Ekans. He eyed he pokemon, studying it as it hissed its name back towards Zero. It was at that moment that Zero realized that Ekans was just snake spelled backwards. It was inexplicable to Zero how that pokemon could know the word snake, know that it was a snake, and without plagurizing just call itself snake backwards, but Zero knew that he was regressing and had more pressing matters to attend to. Zero let out a slight grin as he quickly took out his poketech and have it narrate the specifics of this poison snake pokemon. "Ekans, the snake pokemon. It sneaks through grass wihout making a sound and srikes unsuspecting prey from behind. Ekans is a pure poison type pokemon. Ekans' moveset is fairly one purposed towards psychical poison atacks. Ekans evolves into Arbok at level 22." And that was all Zero needed to hear. He quickly closed his pokedex and put it in its orignal location at the bottom of his backpack. "Ok Galloway, try a Psychic attack followed by Hypnosis if it tries to counter." Zero said as he poined dramaically towards the crazed snake. He knew that the Psychic atack should be effective and that if he could get the snake asleep then he would have more time to use Reflect and get his defense up or when Ekans did wake up. Unkown to Zero though was the fact that he had not let the poketech narate Ekans' abilities which didn' mean certain failure or Hypnosis, but it meant his plan was not as effective as he originally hoped. Galloway continued fearlessly with his attacks, hoping to make a good first impression on his new trainer, but behind Galloway, Zero was cockily eyeing the snake, knowing in his mind that he had a near perfect combination in he works. Zero wasn't completley sure how the Hypnosis move acually worked anyway so he shut his eyes and covered his ears, not wanting to fall into the same trance that he hoped he rival snake would fall into. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Galloway ~Using Psychic/Hypnosis~ ![]() Lvl 7 14/14 ![]() 0.6/3.0 ![]() 0 ![]() Ability - Chlorophyll - When Sunny Day is in effect Exeggcute's speed is doubled. ----------------------------------------VS.------------------------------------- Ekans ~Wants le' eggs~ ![]() Lvl 10 20/20 ![]() 0.0/3.0 ![]() 0 Ability 1 - Shed Skin - Every turn ekans has a 33% chance of healing from a status condition. .4 Threat of being eaten abundant, Galloway fearlessly attempted a Psychic attack, but the Ekans did something, odd... It formed itself into a circle, and began the strangest of optical illusions, as it slithered repeatedly over itself, confusing Galloway, making it impossible for him to concentrate on a Psychic attack. The Hypnosis, though, was perfectly possible, and soon, the snake laid, asleep, on the ground. ![]() Lv. 7 14/14 vs. ![]() Lv. 10 20/20 (Asleep) |

0.2 Zero unknowingly began to tremble as Galloway tried it's hardest to focus on the crazed Ekans Galloway kept getting close, but the spastic snake was to mobile of a target for a concentrated psychic attack. Zero knew that if his hypnosis couldn't get the snake to sleep then it would be nearly impossible to get a strong psychic attack off on the crazed Ekans. Luckily Zero's second wish came true. The Ekans, lost in a trance, moved its head the same way Galloway would, and eventually fell asleep. As Ekans' upper half hit the floor with a 'thud' Galloway looked back towards his trainer, hoping that he had made him proud with the incapacitation of the higher level snake. Zero just smiled to Galloway and gave a kind of victory wink that restored Galloway's confidence after the failed psychic. Now it was up to Zero to find out what the best plan of attack was. He knew that Ekans was weak against psychic, and now that it was asleep Galloway could possibly pull it off once or twice, weakening it before it awoke. On the other hand he knew that if the snake awoke before sufficient damage could be done then he would have wasted precious time that Galloway could use to raise his own defense with Reflect. It was the first minor decision that he had to make with Galloway, and he knew that whichever he chose would tell Galloway the type of trainer he was. Upon that thought Zero knew what trainer he wanted to be. It matched his personality, and pokemon style, as well as his position on the football player. Then it came to Zero, maybe it was fate, maybe it was genetics, but to Zero, hopefully it was his own personal preference that made him take the safest way out while remaining agressive. With Galloway eyeing his fallen opponent Zero began to narrate his desired attacks. "Galloway, focus as much as you can on Ekans and use Psychic, and then use Reflect, try to get your defense up." Zero dictated with a revived voice. Galloway took one last look towards Zero and nodded in joyous approval as he began his orders. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Galloway ~Using Psychic/Reflect~ ![]() Lvl 7 14/14 ![]() 0.6/3.0 ![]() 0 ![]() Ability - Chlorophyll - When Sunny Day is in effect Exeggcute's speed is doubled. -----------------------------------VS.--------------------------------------------- Ekans ~Sleepin'~ ![]() Lvl 10 20/20 ![]() 0.0/3.0 ![]() 0 ![]() Ability 1 - Shed Skin - Every turn ekans has a 33% chance of healing from a status condition. .3 Galloway focused intently, psychic beams forming, and then started slamming them forcefully into the slumbering Ekans. The Ekans slept on, not able to focusing on waking up, its mind being bombarded with psychic energy. 0.1 Zero snickered under his breath, prideful of the way he had masterfully handled the first part of the battle. It was nearly impossible for Zero to judge the damage that Galloway had done. Throughout the entire attack the dormant ekans laid in one spot, as if someone had run it over on the highway. Zero felt a moment of remorse for the poor creature, but knew that Ekans and Arbok were fairly weak pokemon and were probably not the best pokemon to add into the dream team. Zero ran over to his pokemon, looking down upon it as it bounced up and down in what some would call over-zealous celebration. "Calm down buddy, you still got some work to do," Zero started to say with Galloway ceasing it's bouncing almost as easily as it had begun. Zero knew he had hurt the pokemon's feelings slightly, so he continued with his impromptu speech, "Its ok though your doing great. Geez, your reflect. Its really.... really.... glowy?" Zero began to ramble as he ran out of adjectives to use. Galloway looked back at his trainer as each egg, in order from smallest to largest, gave a wry, appreciative smile. Zero could do nothing more than smile back. So far they were making mincemeat out of the snake pokemon, and Zero knew that if he kept progressing in the manner that he had the past few days then his dream of beating the elite four could possibly turn into a reality. Zero reached into his backpack and took out the meat that he had neglected to give Galloway the nite before. "Take this guys, it'll give you energy," Zero remarked with his backturned as he threw the peace of pork over his shoulder and into the middle of the eggs. Each egg that made up Galloway gave a wide smile and chirped in "'exeggcute!" Zero turned around and watched as Galloway devoured the meat. "Thanks guys," Zero commented as he hopefully knew what his pokemon was trying to tell him. "Ok then let's finished this battle!" Zero exclaimed as he jumped to his feet and back into the position where he was for the first part of the battle. Galloway also jumped back into attack position as the barrier he had formed covered his body entirely. They were now ready to finish the battle. Galloway took one last glance at his trainer and muttered "exegg," in a suprisingly gruff manner, trying to tell his trainer that they should finish it, now. Zero nodded in agreement as he began to quickly think over Galloway's movelist in his mind. He had found it. "Ok then Galloway, we don't want to give anything up. First off, concentrate and use your psychic attack. If it wakes up after the attack then use hypnosis again. We'll make this snake play for hissing at us!" Zero shouted like a madman, hoping that no-one was in the area. Galloway then bounced in excitement at the newlyfound confidence his trainer had gained. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Galloway ~Psychic/Hypnosis~ ![]() Lvl 7 14/14 ![]() 0.6/3.0 ![]() 0 ![]() Ability - Chlorophyll - When Sunny Day is in effect Exeggcute's speed is doubled. ++ DEF +1/Reflect ++ ----------------------------------------VS.--------------------------------------------- Ekans ~In Fantasy Dreamland~ ![]() Lvl 10 13/20 ![]() 0 ![]() Ability 1 - Shed Skin - Every turn ekans has a 33% chance of healing from a status condition. .3 The eggs focused their collective brain power, wanting this strike to succeed, to end. The bands of power formed, swirling around them, then they burst, waves of psychic energy bursting outward, slamming the snake's limb body against a small cliff, a sickening crunch signaled the end of the battle. + 1.5 :exp. |

0.1 Zero could do nothing but watch with utter glee as his pokemon began focussing for what Zero hoped would be the final psychic attack they needed. Galloway grunted when he finally used the attack, and in a split second after the slumbering serpent was flung off the path and into the large mountain side as if it were a fly. Galloway began to pant in the way that pokemon pant, lightly and under his breath chanting his own name slower and slower with each say. Zero nodded and walked over to his pokemon. He bent down on one knee and turned Galloway around. "You did great," He said as he patted Galloway on the... egg? Zero soon realized it was difficult to do a victory ass-slap with a pokemon in the shape of an egg, but it really didn't matter anymore. It didn't take a brain surgeon to realize that Galloway was tired, and that it would probablly be the best thing if it had some time to rest in its pokeball. Zero took Galloway's pokeball from his belt, and in the first moment that Galloway saw the ball it stopped panting and began bouncing up and down, happy at the thought of some well deserved rest. Zero wasted no time as he returned Galloway to its pokeball. The pokeball made its usual sound of, 'ding', when Galloway finally got inside. Zero took a few seconds to look at the pokeball, and even though he wasn't sure why, he just smiled and clipped the ball back to his leather belt while rising into the standing position. "I guess its back to Y'orek again," Zero commented to himself. He looked up into the sky, admiring the beauty that was a partly cloudy, blue sky that covered the mountains from what seemed like every angle. As Zero passed the badly injured Ekans he nodded in respect and continued his journey, forgetting the sight of the injured pokemon and continuing his journey through the fairly easy-going mountains. With Galloway getting some well-earned rest, and Zero, fairly easily, crossing the mountains, everything seemed just a little bit to easy and peaceful to Zero. In his own sick way he couldn't wait but see the area around Y'orek. He knew that it would be at least foul in terms of pollution and such, but he couldn't wait to see if all the rumors were true. Zero knew it couldn't be the exact opposite or else his team would not have their base there, but he was curious to know if it was as uninhabittable as described to him. Zero also knew that when he got there he would try and get to Y'orek as fast as he possibly could. "Hopefully I don't get sick or something," Zero muttered to himself as he pushed himself over the nearest rock that was blocking his path. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Keeping Track Of Previous Landmark - Welly Village Current Landmark - Barrier Mountains Next Landmark - Ravine Final Destination - Y'orek Town Cup of - 1.4

.3 The ground dropped out suddenly, leading you into the deep Ravine. It was the last obstacle to traverse before Y'orek, and rest, would be reached. It was a tiring thought, to have to cross such a deep drop. A quick search for a bridge of some sort appeared to be in order, did it not? -Reached Ravine. |

0.1 Zero stood atop the last rock he had to cross to leave the barrier mountains. He couldn't help but cringe at the horrible feeling his nose gave him as he slid down the embankment to the bottom of the mountains. It was no joke, and Zero knew it now. There were a few patches of ground that were actually eroding and cracking. Holes filled with septic water could be seen in the distance, but the problem was where was the distance? Zero watched carefully, he knew that every step he took was dangerous. If he stepped in a puddle with septic water, or even worse, acid rain, then he knew that he could have foot problems in such. As careful as he was trying to be though he was also looking with wide eyes for a bridge to try and cross the river or poison that lay in front of him. Every few seconds a bubble would float out of the water and explode. Scared of these bubbles Zero headed farther away from the river bank and began to walk. He could see Y'orek far in the distance, but he knew, unlike the river the day before, that if he tried to jump over this river and missed the jump then he could very well die. It had been nearly an hour since the previous battle with the ekans, and mixed in with fear and alertness Zero also felt some loneliness. He knew he promised himself to not let his pokemon out of their balls if Y'orek was as bad as advertise, but he was just so damn bored. Zero eventually restrained himself and stopped for a second, clipping the ball back to his belt and shaking his head in disaproval. Zero cracked his neck, there seemed to be no bridge in site. He just stood in one spot and took out his poketech, getting a quick look of the map feature. "Thats just great, I ended up this far north. It'll take almost another hour to get to the river at this pace," Zero muttered to himself under his breath as he kicked some of the frail dirt that seemed to go on continuously as far as the eye could see into the river. The river started to make a boiling noise, and bubbles began to appear gallore. Zero jumped backwards, curiously continuing his walk as careful as ever. "The dirt was disintegrated in the river. What the fuck is this place?" Zero thought to himself as he kept expressionless face. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Keeping Track Of Previous Landmark - Barrier Mountains Current Landmark - Ravine Final Destination - Y'orek Town Cup of - 1.7

.4 The glance at the map pointed you south, to a large bridge. It didn't take you long to reach it, it was only about five minutes from where you stood. You crossed it carefully, wary of the chance that it might not be resistant to the poisons that flooded the land, or maybe it was very old. A dip in the river was not something you wanted right now. You made it across safely, though, and were standing at the entrance to Y'orek. The Team Rocket HQ couldn't be far away now. -Reached Y'orek |
