It had been a long journey Atirius was glad for the chance to actually walk again and stretch his legs. He stopped momentarily, locking his knees and tensing his legs, the muscles contracting around his kneecaps, up though his thighs and around, reaching its upper limit in his lower back. He released it, bending his knees slightly, enjoying the sensation of unhampered blood flow through his lower half once again. He ran a few fingers through his hair, hoping a breath of air might catch it, but, alas, there was none to be found. He took in the outdoor air, undeterred, nostrils flaring slightly as the air passed therein. He smiled, relishing the moment.

Atirius sighed. With a pang of anxiety his thoughts returned to the purpose of this venture; he pursed his lips and set down his pack for the moment. Yes, stretching would do well as he gathered his thoughts.

He was 20 now, two years of college behind him. He enjoyed it - learning, that is, and he was good at it as well he had excelled academically. Lately though, hed been lacking in motivation; he loved to learn, but his thoughts had become more focused on what he planned to do with his acquired knowledge. And that was just it - he didnt know. Hed not had a job yet in his life, something of an oddity for someone of his age, and his academic interests were varied. Both were problematic in that they did not contribute to his ability to make a decision on what path he should take. As he followed academic interests of the moment, the courses and required paths changed. There was always a prerequisite. It was interesting, but something inside him missed.

He pulled his foot in, back towards him; each of his legs had been fully stretched now. He moved on to his upper body, pulling his arm across his chest, smiling at the slight bulge of a long vein, and its branches, traveling the length of his right forearm. His mood sharpened.

He had had enough of the studying in preparation to do something; it was time for action. He wanted experience; to feel the course of ability beat through his veins, his body a hammer for the shaping of malleable inputs; a tool for the accomplishment of productive action. The highest value! He inhaled strongly, tearing the tops of several grass blades with his fingers as he bent, stretching his back. The scent of the fresh wetness of grass and faint earthy scent of dirt lingered over his palate as his long draw of air was exhaled.

His thoughts shifted. Uncertainty bubbled in his chest as he squatted. The unknowables upcoming worried him. A shade of doubt brushed against the edges of his conscious thought. He was committed to this course of action.

Hed refused to take any aid from his parents, not that they were pleased with his decision to travel, but they still insisted on taking care of him. He was glad for his parents. He smiled lightly, idly picking at the grass. His adamant refusal had stood, though. He wanted to force himself into difficulty; he had scrounged together what funds of his own could and made it here. For the moment, he didnt have the funds to return home. Prevention against the easy way out. Anxiety gathered, a weight in his chest; the doubt bristled. There was a feeling there; he didnt identify it.

He pressed his lips together, cracking the knuckles of his index fingers. He sighed again, left hand drawing across his chin, index finger pausing briefly at the philtrum of his upper lip before he reached for his pack. He rose, his body now more responsive and comfortably taut in preparation. He reached for the map in his pocket and began to walk.

"How many assholes we got on this ship anyhow?"
Well written, and a curious beginning...but not one mention of pokemon, which is pretty weird...

I'll say that somewhere on your person is an escape rope device with three charges, a poketech, and 4,000 z. Carry on.
