((Edit: I don't know how many people I'm actually allowed to control at once. Last time I was here, I had three people at my disposal, but they've gone to better places and I've moved on. If I'm only allowed to have one person to control, that's fine, I'll make adjustments. But I would prefer to be able to control the three main people I outline below... =3. And never will I use any of the other NPC people to battle (for EXP, but perhaps for RP sake) and I will not ask for any trades from other students. Perhaps trades TO students if one of my characters decides not to have one, but... =P I'll see how this evolves if I'm allowed to use it)). It was a big day for the small town. Right at the crack of dawn, twenty priveledged teenagers from around the area awoke with a pleuthora of emotions ranging from joy to sadness. Today was the day that they'd be leaving their homes to start a new program offered by their local high school. The students would travel with three of their teachers in a new traveling school program that would give them all the opportunity to learn along the road, but with more of an emphasis on Pokemon training. The teachers that had been selected were three talented and diverse professionals. Dr. Theodore Wood was the head Biology and Pokemon Battle teacher at the high school. He was an older gentleman of the late fifties with a bald spot on his head and a white beard covering his face. Outgoing and passionate about his job, Dr. Wood always had a fun story to tell and kept his lectures interesting and thought-provoking. Mr. Colin Metzer was more of a disciplinarian. His specialties were Math and Social Studies. He had a stern upper-lip, black eyes, and horn-rimmed glasses. He rarely smiled and preferred to have his classes quiet and respectful at all times. Ms. Aliana Burgundy was a soft-spoken, kind woman whose forte was languages and arts courses. She could fluently speak English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, some Sweedish, and was in the process of learning Russian and Arabic. Young and pretty, she kept her flowing brown hair down most of the time so that she looked almost like a student, not a teacher. That morning, the three Professors stood in the middle of the village, waiting for their students. They chatted and prepared their supplies and Pokemon for departure. It was to be a very long trip and they wanted to be prepared. Soon, the students began to assemble with their families in order to begin their journies of learning and training. NAME: RAMIREZ TAVOULARIUS AGE: 17 CLASS: SENIOR Ramirez Tavoularius was among the first people up in the entire village. He was itching to get moving; the boring, small-town life had been getting to him. The routine was always the same: get up, go to school, go to his part-time job at the cafe, come home, do some homework, and go to bed. Since soccer season had been over for many months, Ramirez was begining to slack in his training, and he could tell he was losing stamina and strength everyday. This new learning program was the perfect excuse to get out and exercising once more. When it was still dark, Ramriez slipped out of the bed in the room he shared with his brother, Xavier. Although Xavier was a sophomore and old enough to participate in the training trip, the younger Tavoularius sibling had decided not to go. This puzzled Ramirez, who was used to doing almost everything with his younger brother. Putting these thoughts aside, he walked into the bathroom and flicked on the light. His reflection was the same as always: blonde, messy hair, tanned skin (mercifully without any blemishes), and sea-blue eyes. He could see his boredom in those eyes, and his desire to go flamed up again. He left the bathroom and walked down the hallway. He passed his sisters' room. Isis, at 11, was still a few years too young to participate, but she did want to when the time came. She already had her own Pokemon: a Skitty that she fawned over and planned to make a contest legend out of. The room across from them housed his twin brothers, Romulus and Remus. The boys were still toddlers, barely able to walk and talk, but they already enjoyed Pokemon-themed games and there was no doubt in Ramirez's mind that they would become trainers themselves one day. At the end of the hall was the Master bedroom where Ramirez's parents (Kratos and Josephine) would be sleeping. They were both in their late thirties, and their love had lasted since getting out of high school. Josephine Tavoularius was a Doctor at the local hospital that treated both human and Pokemon patients, and his father was a mechanic. Downstairs, Ramirez put in some toast and sat at the table, drumming his fingers. The wait seemed to go on forever, but he was soon joined by his mother, who was carrying a sleeping Romulus. They sat in relative silence until the sun was peaking over the hill, and then Ramirez stood. His mother didn't cry; she was not the type to cry over something like this since she knew it would ultimately be good for him. Instead, she handed him his bag and warned him as always to be careful. Romulus reached out for a hug and Ramirez hugged him quickly before walking out the door towards his new life. NAME: KATRINA SANDERS AGE: 17 CLASS: SENIOR Katrina Sanders hadn't gotten as much sleep as many people in the town the previous night. She had stayed up until three, staring at the night sky as she lounged on the roof of her house. The excitement was giving her insomnia. All she could think about was the amount of Pokemon she would catch and train, and the places she'd go. Unlike some of the girls in her town, she wasn't aiming for Contests. She was aiming for the Badges. She wanted to beat everyone she could. Her entire family was up just before the sun. Her parents, Arnold and Amy, sat in the kitchen with Kirin, her younger brother. He was about the same age as Romulus and Remus and already the three seemed to be forming a friendship. The Sanders family was very close-knit and there had been a few tears all around already at Katrina's departure. But today there was a celebration; Katrina was moving on to a new stage in her life. One that would make her a better person in the future. She continuously ran her hand through her brown hair out of nerves. She was often told that her hair was like that of Ms. Burgundy's, something that irritated Katrina just a little slightly from boys but not from the girls. Double standard? Yeah, Katrina thought, I just don't enjoy being compared to a lust object, which was all Ms. Burgundy really was to the boys in the class. The sun shone through their window at the end of breakfast, lighting up the kitchen. Her mother stood up and handed her a brand-new leather bag. Both of her parents worked for the government, usually monitoring things from their seculded home offices. They were not in any way involved with Pokemon, but they admired their daughter for having the will to train all the Pokemon at the lower shelter. One last round of hugs and kisses later, Katrina was strolling down the path to meet Ramirez, her best friend since birth. They would be training together and Katrina planned to enjoy every minute of it. NAME: TERUHIKO YAKAKO AGE: 18 CLASS: SENIOR "Is Dad going to say goodbye?" asked Teruhiko in a slightly irritated voice as he readied himself to leave. "Don't speak so ill of your father," replied his mother in her soft, calm voice, "He just wants whats best for you..." Yeah, thought Teruhiko, He wants me to stay in this stupid little town instead of going on this trip. But he'll let Nayoko and Toshio go without any arguments? I don't think so. There had been an argument at the dinner table the previous night. Yoshi Yakako was not at all keen on his eldest son going on this Pokemon Training Journey for reasons that were unknown to the teen. Although he didn't try to dissuade Nayoko or Toshio from going, he had repeatedly suggested that Teruhiko remained behind so that he could focus soley on his studies. The eldest boy, not at all pleased with this suggestion, had flatly refused, which eventually lead to a heated argument that sent Yoshi to bed much earlier than usual. Nayoko and Toshio were twins and younger than Teruhiko by a year. They were both relatively shy and very intelligent. Nayoko, however, was extremely annoying at times, constantly nagging at her brothers to behave better so that their father wouldn't have to yell at them so much. Another thing that bothered Teruhiko about their father: his extremely high standards. Nothing he did ever seemed good enough; nothing was ever highly praised, but any remote failures were chastised greatly. This, too, had been argued about at the dinner table the night before, and perhaps it was this that prevented their father from seeing of his children the next morning. Their mother, Matsami, handed them each their bags and kissed them all. She held a brave face, but they could tell she was saddened to see her children leaving home so early. After Nayoko and Toshio left, she held Teruhiko's arm. "He really is just looking out for your best interests," she pleaded, "Just give him a chance to realize that..." "I love you, Mom," said Teruhiko, "I'll write when we get to the first town." With that, he left the house. He could see Nayoko and Toshio running ahead, heading into the suns' early-morning rays. Teruhiko didn't feel the same energy they did; he was still fuming slightly from his fight from the previous night. But as he approached the center of town, the anger evaporated and was replaced with excitment. Soon he'd be picking his first real Pokemon (as opposed to the ones they temporarily trained in schooL) to battle with. He smiled and cracked his knuckles; time was wasting. They needed to get going. Without further ado, he picked up the pace. Perhaps Katrina and Ramirez are around, he thought, I'll just chill with them for a little while. |

As each of the trainers set out, they found that their bags held a brand new PokeTech, Escape Rope (with 3 charges), and 5,000 zenni. | ||||||||||||
