Alais was walking slower now, still trying to keep a pace but failing at that miserably. He readied an antidote, carrying it in the hand that wasn't on the sword, giving Paras the instructions to attempt to use it on him should he pass out.

Luckily, that didn't happen. Though Alais was getting woozy near the end, the poisonous influence seemed to fade away as he reached the edges of the reason, stepping into the dead areas of grass in the Moorfeldt Grasslands. At least that's what the Poketech SAID it was... there didn't seem to be much grass here. It was mostly dried ground that, while not obviously poisoned, didn't look extremely healthy, either. There was the occasional shrub here and there, and Alais was still keeping an eye out for wild pokemon; hopefully they wouldn't be some sort of rare commodity here.

He had decided that a new world, a whole new dimension at that, would warrant perhaps a new take on his goal. Perhaps acquiring a team of pokemon would help him more than idle searching would; and his first goal (subgoal, really) was to find an electric thing. He wasn't sure if there were any around here, but he started to cut away larger bushes and patches of grass with his sword, looking for anything lightning powered, while heading north yet slowly.

(He's in Dry Grass 2 of Moorfeldt Grasslands, heading north towards Thin Shrubs of Dustlands but still staying in the grass for the time being)

The dry grass with sand intermingled amongst their pale dead blades didnt bode well with a majority of the Pokemon population, though it was livable. But those that feasted on plants wouldnt have cared much for the taste of dry grass and have moved further upland, leaving the area to the desert creatures who would have preferred the dry environment and the reassuring security of the sands. Those that were adventurous, like a certain LV 16 :ml :zigzagoon, dashed across the parched grass, seeking something to sate its curiosity for the strange borders of its grassland home. Like a little hunting hound, it prowled, its bristly back spiking over the dried spikes of its surroundings.

As the Zigzagoon ran across his path, the Paras on Alais's right shoulder tensed up, getting ready to jump into action and strike at the foe. Alais quickly held up his right hand, palm facing back towards Paras, in front of the little mushroom pokemon to stop him from jumping.

"No, Paras. We are not looking to cause a stir with this good beast." Paras paused for just an instant before settling into a relaxed posture once again, and Alais dropped his hand, moving his left hand holding the sword in front of him slightly to guard against any sudden movements the raccoon pokemon would make if it was feeling particularly ravenous, and slowly walked away from it.

"We will keep looking for an electric pokemon. And unless it is what we want, you don't have to worry about getting down, okay?" said Alais, and Paras nodded happily. The two walked on.

(Still in Moorfeldt Grassland's Dry Grass 2 landmark, just walking around, heading north but not crossing into the Dustlands yet.)

You're a regular decorated emergency.
Within seconds, Alais and his bug friend were surrounded by Poochyena. Seems that they have stepped into the dogs' territory, disrupting the delicate balance of their daily lives. Or maybe they're just hungry.

Either way, the two were "surrounded", unable to escape unless one of the dogs was taken care of. The alpha male barked out orders to its comrades, all of them taking offensive stances.

Alais stepped back for a moment, temporarily unsure, before getting a firm stance on the dusty ground and nodding towards Paras, who jumped off of his shoulder and landed on the ground next to him. Alais tightly grabbed the hilt of his sword with both hands and readied himself for an attack; he didn't like to attack pokemon himself, but in a three to one battle for his only pokemon, it didn't seem like he had much choice.

"Paras, I want you to use Stun Spore on that one there, that looks like the leader" said Alais, guestering at the largest dog that was growling the loudest, the level 21 one. "Once you've tried to do that, I want you to jump around or over it and get out of it's attack range."

Alais himself stood ready to defend his pokemon from the other two snarling pokemon, holding the sword horizontally in front of his lower torso, eyeing them as closely as possible and getting ready to swing at one or both, should they leap or attack.

The lead Poochyena made a disgusted sniff at Paras, as it realized this pokemon was all you would be sending at him and his companions. He took a step forward towards the Bug/Grass pokemon with a wolfish grin, making a blood-thirsty Scary Face at the little pokemon. Despite being well trained, Paras could not help but twitch uncertainly; the move had decreased his speed and the Poochyena was now coming sneering right for him.

That triggered off his training, and the pokemon immediately released a thick cloud of Stun Spores right in the Poochyena's face - the pokemon sneezing wildly, angry barks sounding from it, but it's own movements were decreasing and when the cloud finally lifted, the Poochyena came tumbling forward with a disoriented look in it's eyes. The spores had Paralyzed him, and he found his legs locked together, causing him to tumble to the ground.
Paras had only little difficulty jumping over him.

You had reason to be proud of Paras, but you were given only very little time to enjoy his victory. The other two Poochyena, having not yet noticed the fall of their leader, split apart and began circling you from each their side, a predatory glint in their yellow eyes.
One of them snapped it's jaws at you, coming a little bit too close, and was quickly sent on the retreat with a pained yelp as you swung out determinedly with the sword, cutting smoothly into the Poochyena's side. It backed off, turning it's head slightly to the side to lick at it's wound.

You knew what had to be coming when you swung out at the first Poochyena, but however much you tried to avoid it, you simply did not have the reflexes (or an eye in the back of your head for that matter) to stand against the second Poochyena. It had been at the opposite side, and while you defended yourself from it's kin, it took the chance to attack from your vulnerable side - pain tears through you as a pair of hard jaws Crunch into your left arm, drawing quite alot of blood; you bring with some difficulty the sword back around, but the Poochyena has already evaded.

Wet droplets of blood run down your skin, coloring your shirt/sweater/whatever a bright crimson. The pain is incredible. You are prepared to swear on that the damned dog bit down to the bone. What's worse, that arm is now slightly weakened, and the two Poochyena's aren't done yet.

However, to the side, their leader is laying helpless - and Paras have caught on to what has happened.

It had been his left arm, his worse one; he was lucky for that. But the wound felt like fire to him; for an instant it seemed to jam every nerve in his body, making him clench his teeth and contract every muscle he could find, yelling out in pain and writhing around for a moment.

Alais knew there was still danger about them, and that Poochyena might be worse off towards him now that he had injured it. Paras had done his job quite nicely, but it was impossible to think that he could stand up against the three dogs by himself. Alais still needed to help. "Paras, be as agile and evasive as you can, and make sure not to be too predictable... and make a powerful Slash attack against that Poochyena!" (directed at the level 21 one).

"Well hello, Master. It's been quite a while, hasn't it?" said a voice. Alais was surprised for a second before realizing that it was none other than Chaz, his sword, talking to him- the blade got a boost in power and a personality to boot for a short time after it was exposed to any innocent blood- the Poochyena must've fit that quality ((I asked Suzy)).

"Chaz! Look, hold on, I have some things to ask you that I'm going to have to wait until later about." Without another word, Alais held his left arm above his head and used his right hand to reach into his pack quickly, pulling out a can of Super Repel. Not holding it very tightly with the sword in his hand as well, he dropped it on the ground quickly and then sword'd the spray nozzle top off, making the can start misting the air with a scent that pokemon found repulsive, and kicked it at the two most active Poochyenas (the two level 18 ones). He was ready to swing his sword in defense should anything pounce at him again, but he was hoping that nothing would this time.

The two Poochyena were stunned for a second by the strange extra voice. Even as pokemon, they werent nave enough to think someone had two voices, especially when one mouth was closed in the pain they had delivered unto it. And that second was all Alais needed to drop the can of super repel and unload its contents all over the ground, right in to the unwilling noses of the two smaller canines, who upon smelling it immediately started to cough and whine, tears forming in their little doggy eyes.

The one downside of super intense smelling is super sensitivity to exceedingly bad odors. While Alias didnt smell anything, the smell was repulsive to most pokemon and soon the two, regardless of the fear and respect they had for their leader, were running off with their tails between their legs. They had gotten a face full of it each and it was almost blinding. So that left only one pooch down.

However, the older pooch was only slightly less affected by the smell than the other two, and as much as Alias wanted it to stay, it started to run away, it too being driven away by the awful odor that mingled in the air. However, as it took a few steps, it stopped, frozen in place, straining at its body to move but unable to. Combined with the nauseating smell of the Repel and the effects of the paralysis, he soon fell to his side, whimpering and whining, obviously in extreme to immense discomfort, almost worse than the pain it was used to in guarding its territory.

And as for Paras, repel smell bad to all pokemon. While Alais had ordered his loyal Paras to attack, there was only so much a pokemon could stand. He waddled over to the downed Poochyena and hit it with a claw, however it was more of a scratch than a slash, its other claw covering up its mouth, the fumes of the repel obviously still thick in the air. It gave an annoyed stare at Alais for a second, but its frustration with such a dirty trick was not enough to make it mad at the trainer, only slightl annoyed. Repel was usually dispersed in small amounts, however all at once probably was alienating Alais from every pokemon species within a 500 yard radius, including his own. Truthfully, he stunk to any pokemon closer, and they wanted nothing to do with it. It was all Paras could do to not run away from the stench. The Poochyena just whimpered, trying to move but still unable to.

Grasping his wounded arm with his other hand whenever he had the time, and keeping it above his head, Alais apologized through clenched teeth. "Sorry, Paras. I think I'll return you until I can get this taken care of." He used his spare hand to quickly tap Paras' pokeball, returning the pokemon to it, and was now left with only the paralyzed, extremely uncomfortable whimpering Poochyena laying on its side, and of course Chaz the sword.

Alais looked around to see if anyone was in the area; no one was. He felt bad about doing this, but...

"Hey pup. Listen. You're paralyzed, and it must be pretty bad or else you would be running away right now at the smell. I know you think it's awful. So here's the deal."

Alais brandished his sword in front of him, keeping it ready in case the dog came out of paralysis unexpectedly but mostly just swinging it for show. "I can either leave you here, paralyzed and surrounded by this stink for who knows how long. And if I do that, who knows, maybe my sword just might slip out of my hand while I walk next to you." He swung it extra bluntly at the ground when he said that, letting the Poochyena know that it would not be an accident in any fashion. "And I'd hate to have you bleed to death out here."

Regretfully, Alais reached in his pack for an Ultraball and pulled it out. "The other option is that I throw this at you right now, and you don't escape. I realize you're going to be pissed at me for quite a long time, and I deserve it, I know... but trust me, given some time I think you'll be alright."

He hurtled the pokeball at the dog in a fast, hard motion. "Decide!"

The Rocket That Burns The Heavans Red
(( -1 :fp for the threat. n_n Way to go man! I like your dark side ))

The poochyena lifted its head, its lips curling back as it bares its fangs... t hough tears filled its yellow eyes as the horrifying stench of the super repel was wrecking havoc on his sensitive sinuses... his body twitching as he tried hard to get up, but was too weakened from both the paralysis and the debilitating cloud of repel.

As he saw the pokeball coming at him, he gritted his fangs as he was forced to think quickly as he was caught up in the pokeball and drawn inside. Though he was weakened, he would still be strong enough to escape the pokeball, but the threat still rang loud in his mind as the pokeball wavered back and forth, back and forth....

Slowly the ball then settled down... t he light dying down. For now the poochyena had submitted to your will, but in its mind it was already plotting its future escape, or ways to make this trainer pay.....

((This post takes Alais out of the Moorfeldt Grasslands and into the Dustlands. The post is repeated in both places.))

Alais put the newly occupied Ultra Ball on his belt clip and sighed. That was NOT how he had wanted to end that confrontation, and the giant wound on his left arm was also an unintended, bitter trophy to victory. On the good side... Chaz, his sword, was now powered up, and would remain so for a little while. Alais figured that if Chaz ran out of charge, simply exposing it to his own blood from the wound would be enough to get him online anyway.

Alais knew that he reeked of Super Repel like none other, and therefore wasn't all too concerned about running into enemy pokemon. When even his OWN pokemon tried to avoid him... he walked from the area of dry grass he was in (Dry Grass 2, Moorfeldt Grasslands) to what seemed like even a drier expanse of region (Thin Shrubs, Dustlands) without any trouble at all.

As he walked, he talked to Chaz.

"I haven't been awake for what seems like ever, and it's been a year or years since I can remember anything. We were on the boat together, remember, fighting the French Swalot, and the eclipse was going on... Crispin and Cedric (you remember Crispin the wizard, and his Hoot-Hoot assistant, right?) were on the upper level of the boat holding off all the vicious dogs... that's when I blacked out, or something. What happened?" asked Alais.

"I can say little more than you can, Master." replied the sword. "There was a presence behind you. Of course, you would've beaten the Swalot, but it and you were knocked cleanly out by the man behind you. I lost my charge around that time as well, and since I was less powerful, apparently he thought I wasn't a force to be reckoned with and cast me into the water."

"Did you see Crispin or Cedric on the upper deck at all?"

"They were not present, Master. But after being in the water for quite some time- nine months to a year, I'd imagine- I felt a spell being cast over me that would ensure I found my way back to you, which is why you found me, I believe. I don't know of anyone else who would know of both of us, nor anyone who would use any sort of magic... so I presume that Crispin, at least, is still alive."

"Back to this guy that threw you overboard... what did he look like? Could you get a good look at him?"

"He was very well disguised. He wore mostly black and blue that covered everything, even his face, save for a small slot where the eyes could see out. He was tall and slender, and he did not speak... but I'm afraid I don't know any other facts that could help us, Master."

"Oh well. Oh, here.." said Alais, noticing Chaz's red glow was beginning to fade. He took his hand off of the cloth covering the wound on his arm and brushed Chaz against the blood that had absorbed into the cloth, watching the glow turn fiery red and strong once again.

Chaz and Alais made small talk walking through the Thin Shrubs, heading towards Open Space 1 and ultimately Bloodaisy. Since Alais was basically bathed in Super Repel there should be extremely, EXTREMELY low chances of pokemon encounters, but I guess anything could happen.
