It was dusk, north of Pierrepont. Alais had been walking on the beach for hours, avoiding the rare pokemon and looking for any washed up clues to the fates of his lost companions. He had just found an old tool of his; his sword, sticking deep into the sand. It had taken all of his might to yank it from the ground, and he was practicing swinging it in the air, getting an immense sense of satisfaction from the old feeling in his muscles, when the grass bordering the beach began to blacken and die. Alais looked at the encroaching darkness on the ground for just a moment before he turned around and ran like hell from the grass, onto the sand, where it did not seem to reach. That's when he noticed that the water off the coast was starting to fade to black as well. He ran to make his previous sprint look like a stroll; not sure where, just away. Finally, reaching the end of the sand, he found there was nowhere to go. That's when the darkness streaked across the sky, and he blacked out. He woke up lieing on the ground in an odd looking pit, with tinted ground and dead vegetation. He would've thought he was looking at the results of a poison, if not for the fact that he was lieing in what looked like a dried up river valley. He slowly stood up, clutching his head, and grabbed his sword off of the ground, holding it close to his body to guard against any threats that may jump down off of the higher areas. That's when a beeping noise from his pack alerted him; he reached behind him and pulled out is pokenav. It, of course, was not a pokenav, but rather a sleek black piece of equipment like a cell phone with "Poketech" written on it. Flipping it open, a winking image of Celebi appeared to him; that's when all of the past events with the King were flashed through his memory, as the legendary pokemon made him aware of everything (he made EVERYONE aware of everything, by the way, you losers). He didn't know much about the King and hadn't encountered anything to do with him firsthand, but he was now glad that the tyrant seemed to be gone. "The Opaddeka Region." he said aloud. "So I'm in a new world. Okay. I can handle that. Let's see where I am..." Figuring out where the map function was, he navigated around and found his icon in the middle of a purple shaded area labelled "Blighted Plains", and zoomed in to figure out his exact location; in a dried up river. Just like he had thought. Now without any idea where his friend Crispin the Wizard was, he let Paras out of the pokeball and onto his shoulder, quickly informing him what was going on. Paras was certainly surprised, to say the least, but stayed perched casually on his shoulder as the two walked north from the riverbed, following its curves in an attempt to get to the Dry Grass 2 area. He wasn't sure if he'd encounter any pokemon... or if it worked the same here... but checking to make sure he still had all of his items and money, he decided he was ready no matter what would happen. |

Better.

As he walked, the poisonous fumes rose from the ground. It was a dangerous place to be in, the Blighted Plains. Without any safety mechanisms, most normal people fall ill, or start to be poisoned. Alais was not a normal person... But still, the toll of the poisons still sank into his lungs. And then, it happened. His breathing became laboured, heavy. It was hard to breath. Paras was okay though. Even though he wasn't one of the poison Pokemon, his affliation with the powers of them had saved him. Walking became harder, maybe even affecting the speed at which they travelled. One way to help Alais now might actually be one of the Antidotes he had with him. However, that was for Pokemon; the Antidote they had might be able to cure them but for a human, who knows what would happen? He could ignore it too. Just continue walking. Or something. Anyway, he was about half-way there. The dried up river began to close up, becoming thinner and thinner. Once it stops and becomes level land, he would reach his goal. |

Alais was walking slower now, still trying to keep a pace but failing at that miserably. He readied an antidote, carrying it in the hand that wasn't on the sword, giving Paras the instructions to attempt to use it on him should he pass out. Luckily, that didn't happen. Though Alais was getting woozy near the end, the poisonous influence seemed to fade away as he reached the edges of the reason, stepping into the dead areas of grass in the Moorfeldt Grasslands. At least that's what the Poketech SAID it was... there didn't seem to be much grass here. It was mostly dried ground that, while not obviously poisoned, didn't look extremely healthy, either. There was the occasional shrub here and there, and Alais was still keeping an eye out for wild pokemon; hopefully they wouldn't be some sort of rare commodity here. He had decided that a new world, a whole new dimension at that, would warrant perhaps a new take on his goal. Perhaps acquiring a team of pokemon would help him more than idle searching would; and his first goal (subgoal, really) was to find an electric thing. He wasn't sure if there were any around here, but he started to cut away larger bushes and patches of grass with his sword, looking for anything lightning powered, while heading north yet slowly. (He's in Dry Grass 2 of Moorfeldt Grasslands, heading north towards Thin Shrubs of Dustlands but still staying in the grass for the time being. I'm posting this as a reply here AND in Moorfeldt because it sorta takes place in both. But don't mod this.) |
