"Gah!" Keegan screamed, awaken in a small pool of standing water. He was almost completely out of breathe, seeing as the thing that brought him back to consciousness was his head being face down in the water. He looked around him, but he could see virtually nothing through the thick, impenetrable white fog that blocked his view of anything more than a few feet from him. Was he dead? Was this the afterlife? The last thing he knew, the world was being thrown into completely and total darkness from King Dirigible, and he thought that he had died. Maybe he had. Maybe this was the entrance to heaven, or hell, or whatever happened to a person after they died. But if that was the case, then how come he was brought back to awareness from a lack of oxygen? Things just didnt add up. Slowly, Keegan attempted to get up out of the watery grasslands. His jeans and thin sweatshirt were soaked, along with his brown hair and everything else on his person. He reeked like the marshes, and desperately needed to take a shower. He looked down at his feet, mostly in disgust as his shoes were drenched in the murky water, but down next to his foot was something he was not prepared to see. Snuggled ever so gently in the grass right next to where Keegan once laid, was a small pokemon egg, with green and red spots all over the shell. Whether this was brought here with him, to wherever he was, or was a pokemon egg to one of the inhabitants of this marsh, he didnt know. But finders keepers! The whole not-knowing-where-he-was thing was really starting to annoy Keegan, so he reached into his pocket to pull out his pokenav, trying to look up the map on the device to see where he had found himself. Instead of the useful map like device, however, there was this sleek new piece of technology that looked a lot like a black cell phone. He couldnt figure out how to work it, so it seemed like he was on his own until he could find some civilization. Well, Im not going to get anywhere talking to myself standing here in the swamp. He said, to himself, wondering why he said that to himself, and decided to walk in who-knows-what direction. Hopefully he would find someone or something that could help him navigate his way through the mist, because he sure as hell was lost on his way. OOC: APL is 23, Im starting in the Unclearable Fog Marsh right outside of the Misthenge Village, and Im looking for a pokemon that could help me find my way to the town. Hopefully of the Buizel nature, because I really want a Buizel, fool. |

Before you start reading: I'm going to make up words as I go along As you sloshed through the glorphy mrushgla, you couldn't help but notice how wet everything really was. Like, you thought you were pretty wet to begin with, but after a while, the wettitude started getting a little out of control. It weighed you down, the effort it took to simply walk was overbearing. You kicked up water, if that's what you'd want to call it, with every step, and it occasionally met your face. Not too pleasant for your already marshled features. As you kept floffing along, you accidentally kicked a Lotad, which squealed and started to skittle away. Well...that's that. ![]() Lotad Level 22 44/44*Skittling away* |

Keegan watched as a...thing...puddled away, which really wasn't very polite of it. Keegan needed directions, and if this thingamabober was going to run away, Keegan would just have to stop it. He looked down at the pokeballs that he had in his pocket; one regular pokeball, which he assumed was Charmeleon's, but he didn't really remember because he was pretty abscent-minded about things, one ultra ball, which had to be his Onix, and a Foresty lookin' ball, which must have been Ariados. He decided that Ariados would be a good candidate to help him rasso up this pokemon. Whatever it was. He threw out the pokeball, and the Spider pokemon appeared in front of him, not very pleased that it was out of it's pokeball, but whatever. Keegan decided not to really acknowledge it's attitude, and just gave his orders. "Use your String Shot to catch that thing, and pull it back towards us." But whether or not Ariados would hit the creature, or another creature, or anything at all, was really just a guess. It was too foggy to see anything. ![]() Level 22 |

The Lotad's eyes grew rather large as it felt something sticky beginning to pull it back, trying desperately to pull away from the web. It gave out a loud cry before being flung back swiftly, skittering about swiftly around your legs and bumping into your Ariados. "LOOOTAD!!!" I screamed as it came face to face with the arachnid that had simply dragged it back. It would seem that it wasn't used to getting picked on by a trainer and his pokemon. Keegan looked tenderly at the frightened little pokemon, and bent down so that he didn't seem like such a threat to the timid little thing. Not knowing what the thing was yet, he pulled out his pokedex and let it scan the creature. "LOTAD, the WATER WEED POKEMON. LOTAD live in ponds and lakes, where they float on the surface. It grows weak if its broad leaf dies. On rare occasions, this POKéMON travels on land in search of clean water." "Lotad, huh? Well, sorry little guy, I didn't mean to scare you." He said, extending his hands to try to remove the string shot still wrapped around the leaf like pokemon. Lotad recoiled in fear of him, showing that he was still terrified, to which Keegan just sorta smiled. "It's ok, we don't mean to hurt y--" Before he could finish his words, Ariados decided to take over the conversation. "DOOOOOS!" She screamed at the little pokemon, getting all up in the little guy's grill and scaring him. She then proceeded to attack the pokemon for running away, regardless of whether or not Keegan wanted a guide, and her eyes began to glow blue as she prepared a Psychic attack against the Lotad. ![]() Level 22 44/44 ![]() Level 22 44/44 -Speed -1- |

The little water/grass thing did not-like the way things were turning out. The ominous blue glow of the arachnid as it prepared for attack was more than enough reason for it to hightail it out, regardless of how calming the human seemed to be. They wanted its hide! And yet the sticky web that had been shot at it kept entangling with its legs, greatly hampering its mobility. As if it wasnt having a hard enough time trying to move with those little stubs they called legs. You can pretty much tell what happened next, and that the attack sent the grass Pokemon landing with a sickening plop on the marchland water full of algae and other nast stuff Id rather not mention. "Ariados! What are you doing? Lotad wasn't doing anything wrong and you...you're hopeless, you know that?" Keegan said to his spider pokemon, shaking his head and rolling his eyes at the stubborness of his partner. Sometimes, she really could be a bitch. Lotad was scared enough of them as is, it didn't need Ariados to attack it to put it more on edge. At the rate they were going, the leaf pokemon was probably going to have a heart attack before it would help navigate them through the marshes. "Ariados, if we are going to do this, we are going to do it right. Put that poor thing out of it's misery and knock it out." The arachnid pokemon didn't disobey her trainer on this, and leapt forward until it got close enough to the Lotad to stare at it with it's big, menacing eyes. Which, by the way, were glowing blue again to take it on with it's Psychic attack. ![]() 44/44 ![]() 28/44 Speed -1 |

Lotad tried to scurry away along the top of the ground. But, it was useless. It was still covered slightly in sticky string, and another Psychic attack was coming. Keegan looked at the poor creature with a bit of sympathy, not really liking what Ariados was dooming it to. The spider wouldn't stop until the leafpad like pokemon was unconcious, and then they would have to look for something else to help them scout out this area. Keegan watched as the purple sludge existed the small archnid pokemon and covered the Lotad, harming it enough to fully knock the creature out. It was a good idea to have Ariados out of her pokeball to travel with, not because she was such a good companion, because, like we all know, she was a bitch, but because if he could ever find something to scout out the area for him, Araidos' String shot would make sure that it couldn't get away. As for the battle portion of it, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea to let Araidos take on any more pokemon. He may never find his way through the fog that way. He looked at the other two pokeballs that he still had on him, and decided to see what could be done to prevent Ariados from killing everything they saw. First and foremost, there was Charmeleon, who was always welcome out of his pokeball. And thusly, the fire lizard pokemon appeared with a blast of light that was made even brighter by the water molecules in the mist. But when Charmeleon appeared, he wasn't all that happy. Not really at all. You see, Keegan was in a marsh, a place where the ground was cold, muddy, and covered in standing water. Charmeleon was a fire lizard, and the last time he checked, fire typed lizards did not like standing in soggy, water covered areas. So, he began to yell at Keegan. But it was in Charmeleonese, so Keegan couldn't understand anything, until he also remembered that fire typed pokemon didn't like water. "Well what do you want me to do about it? I didn't bring us here. It's not like I have a pair of boots for you to wear buddy, so just get used to it!" Charmeleon didn't like this much. So he blew a Flamethrower at Keegan's face, which the man managed to duck. "Fine, let me see what I even have that you could use." Digging through his backback, he found something that might work, although it would be somewhat hard for the lizard pokemon. And so, the three continued on in search for a pokemon that could help navigate them through the fog, which was too thick to see through. Keegan, who kept wondering why his pokemon had to be so difficult, Ariados, who was none-too-keen on Charmeleon being let out of his pokeball, seeing as she hated him and all, and Charmeleon, who was cursing the landscape he was hiking through, all the while his feet were covered by just big enough tupperware containers. |

From the depths of a nearby puddle, a pair of eyes watched the man and his Pokémon, thinking of some way he could cause some serious mischief for them... For you see, the thing that was watching them was unlike anything they had ever seen before, and man did it like causing trouble for anyone it could find. And then, it hit him as the strange human removed something out of his pack... something that it seemed he had an intention of using to soothe his rather ticked off Charmeleon. With a surge of speed, the thing erupted from the puddle in a jet of water as he flashed in front of the human, its orange fur visible for less than a second as stole the the plastic containers. But alas, the containers were too much for him, quickly making him fall from the air with a large splash into the marshy ground below. And as the water cleared from the air, you could see a small orange mammal with one container on its head, the other floating next to it. "Buizel?" All it could do was look around in confusion as it tried to understand what had caused it to crash in such a spectacular way. ![]() Level 20 40/40 -Crashed into the mud. |

Keegan looked at the events that had taken place, and then looked at the small creature that had made the events take place, and let out a little chuckle. He didn't know why the thing had fallen so quickly, but it sure was comical to see it lying on the ground with a sandwich container on it's head. He took out his pokedex to see just what the pokemon was, so he knew how to handle the situation before he went in. "BUIZEL, the SEA WEASEL POKEMON. No information is currently known about this pokemon." It was weird that the pokedex didn't have any information on the pokemon, but Keegan didn't worry too much about it at the moment. If it was a sea weasel pokemon, chances are it was a water type, so using Charmeleon wouldn't be a good idea, but then again, maybe they wouldn't even need to battle in the first place. Maybe the otterlike pokemon would come with them willingly. He walked over the Buizel, bent down, and carefully removed the tupperware from his head. He handed the two containers to his Charmeleon, who cursed the ground once again for being so wet, and put them on his feet, while Keegan started to talk to the pokemon. "Hey there little buddy. My Charmeleon over there likes to cause mischief too, so there is no hard feelings with you trying to take my containers. I need your help though, little guy. I have no idea where I am or how to get out of this fog, and having a pokemon like you who knows the land would really be useful in finding my way around. What do you say? How about you jump on board and hang out with us? We would really appreciate it, and I swear you wouldn't regret it." He said, hoping the pokemon would say yes. It would make this a whole lot easier. "Bui...zel?" Batting its ebon eyes, the small water rodent look up at you as you removed the plastic device from on top of his head. He had heard many things about humans from his parents and friends growing up... mainly that they were easy to pull pranks on. But he had also heard that they can come in all sizes and personalities... from kind to down right mean. Above all else, he was told to never simply go with a trainer, no matter how nice they may have been to you. Yep, this little guy was told to always gage the strength of any human who wanted him by way of battle. And so, the Buizel's eyes became fierce as his form shot out of the water before you, landing a few feet away as his little arms boxed out into the air. Seems you were not getting this little guy without a fight, but can you do so without knocking him out like your previous victim? Keegan returned to his standing position and took a few steps back, a huge ass grin plastered across his face. This was the first friendly battle that he would have had in quite some time, way too long. While it was extremely important for him to win, it was even more important for him to earn the respect of the Buizel. Charmeleon wouldn't be a good choice for this battle considering what they do know, but Ariados was like a loose cannon. He didn't want to use any poisoning attacks on the Buizel, fearing that that would make the Buizel not like him, but with Ariados, you never knew. "Ok, Buizel. We can fight for your freedom. If I win, you are coming with me. If you win, you can go. But I warn you, you aren't going to win, my friend!" He said, smiling at the otter pokemon. He then looked at Ariados sternly, and spoke very clearly to the spider. "You can battle, but if you hurt Buizel too badly, I swear I will kill you. Naturally, Ariados had no intention of toning down an attack, simply because
well
it was a bitch? Yeah. But then again, it was a good thing it didnt cause DAMN. That weasel thing was fast. All it did was duck its head, and a powerful spray of water hit the spider squarely between the eyes, knocking off the Psychic attack when the Ariados aimed for it, only the residue of the powerful waves affecting it slightly. It seemed accurately placed as well, even as the creature raced forward on its spindly legs, defying logic with speed for such an oddly-shaped creature. The psychic hit a nearby tree and drilled off a section of the bark with invisible brain waves, splinters flying. The water thing went into action as well, countering the spider with an Agility of its own. And a taunt, giving the bug foe a goofy look before sprinting away. The small little grin on Keegan's face soon explouded into a full on smile that was plastered across the man's face. He liked this pokemon. Oh boy, did he like this pokemon. They would be getting along just great after this battle. Ariados, however, was not as fond of otter pokemon as Keegan was. In fact, she was starting to despize him. But if he was going to join their team, that had to happen one day or another, so might as well be now. "Well, Ariados, this one doesn't want to go down without a fight! In a sudden change of tactics, the small orange creature came to a skidding stop as it closed its eyes. But, this state didn't last long, for the Buizel's eyes quickly flew open, an eruption of water engulfing your Ariados. "Buizel!" With a smile in its eyes, the small creature then lunged forth, plunging head long into the rising swirl of water. In a fit of panic from the water all around her, Ariados began to freak out, blasting in random directions with a barrage of Psychic attacks. As luck would have it, one of these blasts managed to hit the Buizel as it burst through the pillar, sending it skidding across the soggy ground. Keegan was practically leaping in the air with excitement as the giant pillars of water towered over his pokemon, much to Charmeleon's confusement. Keegan looked down at his fire pokemon and tried to explain himself, because it was kinda odd that he would be rooting for his opponent. "Dude, Charmeleon, when was the last time we had a battle like this that COULDN'T end up with one of the two of us dead." Charmeleon thought about it for a moment, then began to smile too. It had been a terribly long time since they could have a good battle without the cops, or gym leaders, or random creatures inside of Steelixes trying to kill them. "And besides, dude," Keegan began again, pulling out an empty pokeball. "I am most definately going to catch that thing!" Ariados was not liking the events as much as Charmeleon and Keegan. In fact, she hated them, much like she hated Charmeleon and Keegan, and cursed them in her native tongue for making her do all the fighting. She stared around, trying to find an openning away from the vortex of water, but it seemed hopeless. "Ariados," Keegan cried out to the spider pokemon. "Use your String shot upward to get out of the columns of water on that Willow tree!" Ariados thought to herself that Keegan was actually making himself useful for once, and noticed when he said this that there was, in fact, a giant tree above her. She shot a string up to one of the branches, and with amazing speed climbed up her web and positioned herself in the tree. The Buizel narrowed his eyes and released a thin stream of water into the air as Ariados shot the webbing up. Water was clear, after all and it was able to see through and shot through the webbing, causing the spider to fall and collapse to the ground once more. The whirlpool spun around swiftly, seeming to close in tighter toward the Ariados. The pokemon shot a Sludge Bomb, which successfully shot through the weakened whirlpool, expelling it and sending an icky, nasty ball of explosion into the form of the Buizel, causing it to cry out in pain. ![]() Level 22 30/44 ![]() Vs. ![]() Level 20 23/40
