Hey alll I apprecate all the information and helpful advice you have all given lately its all been very useful!

I have decided to get two handfed parrorlets instead of one.... will they still be tame and friendly if I handle them often? I felt since they are quiet, small little birds and so pretty I'd go for a pair instead...one blue and one green. I've no experiance with parrolets do they go wild when you have two? I Do intend to handle them and let the out reguarly just as if I had only one.

Cage size changes now doesn't it? I am looking at a flight cage they have many at locle petstores...they are about three feet long 1 foot deep and 2 feet high...like a finch flight cage would that be good?

Quite a few members here have more than one Parrotlet. They would be able to answer this one better than me. I just have the one. A flight cage would be ideal for two!

We had our girl, Miss Boo Boo, for a while on her own & she really bonded with me. I didn't have that much time to spend with her so we decided to get our little boy, Pesto, as company for her. We gradually introduced them to each other & now they share a cage. They're semi-bonded  with each other, but still enjoy coming out of their cage with me & it doesn't seem to have affected Boo's relationship with me very much.

Obviously all birds have their own little personalities & it will be a bit different if you get them both at the same time, but it usually happens that they will bond more with each other than you but you'll still be part of the "flock" & should be able to handle them with no problem. It's definately very cute when the 2 of them are together

Other members have 2 p'lets that they got at the same time, so they should be able to advise you better if you plan to get them both together.

I have two pairs Bubble and Squeak, Squeak was with another male first of all and they got on fine both would sort of come to me, but as Pip died I got Squeak a Hen (Bubbles) as a cage mate they will both step up but they have to be on their own to do this. They are always together cuddling preening or bickering they would rather be together than with me.
The pair of Lutinos I have are very much the same both will step up but only when they are by themselves, but they really do not like being parted and will shout non stop until they are put back together.

If you got two young ones together handreared they should be very easy to look after and train, although you might find like Jan has that one of them will be more feisty than the other. I do think they are suited to being in pairs if there are no other birds in the house, my first Parrotlet I had (Jake) he was by himself but I also have budgies, and he got on quite well with them, especially my yellow budgie they would often preen and sit by one another.

But they have to kept an eye on if you are letting them out with other birds as they can hurt them with their big beaks, as Frank one of my male budgies found out this week. He was on the top of the Parrotlets cage showing off to sky when Squeak bit his toe from underneath.

I caught him and checked him over he did have a cut to his toe which was bleeding so I stopped it and put him in his cage. they need to be kept an eye on all the time <_<

I'm glad Frank's toe is okay!! We have a problem with Boo flying over to the conures cages or to the play gym. She has NO fear of them, even though they are twice her size!

I agree with what everyone else has said about getting two babies. I think if you can start spending time with each one alone as soon as you get them, the more they wil include you in their flock :)

I have to agree with everyone, I got Adam and Eve at the same time. Eve is friendly and enjoys spending time with me. Adam on the other hand would rather I leave him alone. Once he's out of the cage and with me for awhile he settles down but sometimes he can be a bit nippy. But also as everyone said be careful because the don't fear bigger birds at all eek.
