Hey everyone I am bringing home a baby blue parrotlet boy next month and need to know exactly what I should get for him besides a cage... what type of toys do your birds like that I should try? a colorful playpen? mirrors? swings? ladders/ bells what do you all think is best? should I have two food cups or more?

Thanks for any advice

P.S do those cloth bird seed catchers work?

They love anything they can rip to shreds! LOL! Pinatas seem to be a favorite. They also like boings, and rope perches. You should have one dish dedicated for water, one for his dry seed mix and one for fresh foods. :)

Yes just because they are a small bird does not mean they like small toys ;) I buy toys for them like I buy for my Conure. Anthing they can shred as Gail said.

Yes, they love all those things already mentioned. Here's a toy in particular that ours love to shred and destroy

I think they're called a Birdie Kabob

They also like swings and look absolutely darling when swinging!! :D

I think the seed catchers help keep some seed off the floor if they're fed low in the cage, but if their bowls are up high the food will still end up everywhere! They are good at flinging food, especially soft foods! :)

"Jumper" = sweater.

Also, they're very cheap in England, Gail :lol: :lol: :lol: They use plastic on their zippers (zips) instead of good old metal like we do in the colonies :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
