I have a 5 month old parrotlet. I realy didn't want another bird untill next fall. Is that too late for Pickwick to get freindly with the new bird? If I do get a new bird does it need to be a parrotlet or will he be just as likely to become frinds with any of the smaller parrots? I don't expect them to share a cage and don't want to stress Pickwick too much? If I get another parrotlet should I get another male or a female? I don't have any intrest in breeding one. I just like the company. blue2 |

If you want them to be good friends i would suggest another parrotlet, squeak was quite old when i got him and he went in with pip who was six months old and they were great friends. they never slept cuddled up at night but would during the day Posted Image When Pip died I got Bubbles as company for Squeak and they got together straight away. |

Awe Kevin that's such a great pic  I agree with Kevin but if you don't want another parrotle be sure to get a small bird so if they are out of cage they won't hurt each other. |

 Well you have just given me the excuse to look for a new bird. Thanks. I didn't ralise when we brought Pickwick home how much I would worry about days when I go out. I'm home 3 out of 4 days but he seems so lost when I'm not there that I would just like him to have some company. He also realy hates going to sleep and I wonder if he would be happier if he had some company. blue2 blue1 |

I am also curious about this...I am hoping to get two, but the second will not be weaned and ready to take home until a few months after I bring the first one home. Should I house them in the same cage, or in separate cages? Also, if I put them together, are they likely to get more bonded to each other and want less to do with me? aka they will be less snuggly? Thanks :D, and sorry to but into your post... :P |
