He's getting some pretty crappy weather up there too, lots of rain and cold coming from the alaska area, blowing on down to us.

I was driving home friday and i swear, i saw what looked like a green ringneck flying over head. It could have been one of the wild parrots around us, but body structure, it looked like a IRN!

Without trying to stir up controversy again, I guess that is the advantage to wing clipping. They can't fly away. We just had a new patio sliding door & a window fitted. I had to move the aviary out of the way & I was so scared one of the "keet's" would get out while we were trying to catch them all :o . They're not clipped & would have been gone if there was a gap somewhere. Luckily, all went well & they're back in the aviary now

I agree... I've lost Coco before, and it took a day to get him back!

I am neither for or against clipping, there are pro's & con's for each. I'd never think bad against someone for clipping or not clipping.

I've been reading a lot about clipping young birds. They actually say now, dont clip a bird under 2 years of age, if you do, they say it messes up their neurological input, something to do with their balance, equalibrium (sp?) etc. Theres always new info coming out!

Its sad... since i found Kermit, I added a lost/found forum onto CC, and add conure notices daily. Its sad to see all the lost conures out there. I'd run out of space if i did ALL the lost birds daily!

I have an appointment in January to have Cricket's wings clipped. He's making me nervous. He can fly across the room now before he glides to the floor.
