I must admit they are beautiful and I love admiring them but never had a desire to own them. I do love a canary... my father bred them years ago and I loved hearing the males singing

I should correct that he wasn't a breeder  someone gave him a male and female and they do what birds do   he kept a male baby :) I think they bred twice and then the female died, I wasn't into birds at age 10 I was horse crazy

I've got the new cage, and now they are sulking in one corner wondering what all this extra space is for. I'll take some photo's once my fingers have stopped bleeding. As I should have expected, the female bit worse (nothing new there then  ).

Bonnie, we used to have a pair of canaries a few years ago but unfortunately they never bred. Nice lookers but not one of my favourites.

Baby Boo is still in her cage... the budgie hens that have been pulled from the aviary are still in the extra HQ flight drats

But she's clipped so doesn't fly all that much in the cage anyways... she has a play gym ontop of the cage now, but I don't have any current pics with it on. There's no way I could have her unclipped... p'lets are way too much like budgies with flying... the conures are content to hang out clipped or unclipped! little boo's flying around create way too much kitty attention! So the conure cages are opened from the time I walk thru the door till hubby goes to bed, Boo's door is only open when i'm there watching.

yeah, she's deffinalty got the "only child" syndrome! she's a spoiled brat...

sort of off topic... last night she was eating stringed carrots... she was going down to the dish, taking one in her beak, going back to the perch and holding it to the perch with her food while she ate.... thats one step closer to holding it with her foot! the conures must be teaching her well LOL!

I love baby boo's cage ,she looks so happy in there, i am curious about the blue toy that looks like a mop head in the back ground , it look like the sort of toy my birds would love to destroy, could i ask what is it?

Here is B&C's new (rat) cage. They've both been flying around it today, and I've given them a treat of a honeystick and a millet spray to make them feel more at home. There's not much in the way of toys in there at the moment but that will change in the next week or so. Clyde is on the swing, Bonnie on the plastic shelf....

The cage to the right of the main one is their old home, you can see just how much bigger the new one is! In the background you can see a cabinet full of my Samoyed ornaments and part of my miniature drinks collection. The dog in the calendar to the top left is mine :)

And here's the latest portrait of Clyde (still in his old home) wondering why I'm pointing a big black flashing thing with a huge eye at him (that's the camera, in case you were confused  )

Thanks Neil :)

I only had one problem with the cage - after buying it I couldn't get it into the car (and it's not a small car either, a Volvo S60). I had to get someone to come down in a MPV taxi to pick it up drats

I can remember it being discussed her a long time back... I was so impressed with the ones that used their feet, as my pair never did... But now that we have boo, I think she's picking up on the bigger birds actions. I swear, the peeps she does at the green cheeks is comical...well, not at 9pm when we're trying to watch tv LOL.... but one goes, she copies, back & forth!

Thank you :)

Its a fleece thing... she sleeps in it each night and also beats the crap out of it too! its her best buddy!
I have one thats not been used yet, so i'll take a better pic of it for you. I would think it would be pretty easy to make one if you cant find one.
