The yellowish liquid you see in their water fountains is Avigold Click Here as itsays its a water sanitizer and a multivitamin, they all get this 5 days a week and then for two days they get Prolyte C Click Here I have always given this since getting my first Parrot. water is changed daily. Another good one to use if a birds ill or recovering from an illness or just looks down and off its food a little is Prosol Click Here Another one that a lot of people use is Calciform Click Here this is used when you bird might need or can not get enough calcium

I thought that I would bump this thread up as we have some new member that might be interested in putting pictures of their cages here, this is used to give people ideas of what different sized cages they can keep their birds in :) |

I'm sorry to say that Bonnie and Clyde don't have anything as fancy as the cages I've seen on this thread, theirs is 18 inches high, 22 1/2 wide and 12 deep :( I've had a look on fleabay however, and intend to get a much larger cage in the very near future. Thanks for bumping this thread to the top Kevin, for one thing it's shown me what they should (and will) have, not what they do have.... |

Matz, what are the dimensions of that cage? I'll be getting a new one for Bonnie & Clyde very soon (thankfully). The one they are in now will do for a pair of smaller birds :) |

The dimensions are 47*40*23 (LHW) The brand is Eurocages setubal. I think it´s a great cage roomy and many doors. |

Thanks Matz :) I've been looking on fleabay since before I posted that message, but most of the cages I've been looking at seem to be about the same size as the one B&C are in now apart from the height (usually 6"-12" taller). What would you (or anyone else) say would be a good minimum size for a pair of parrotlets? In the meantime I'll check to see if there's any like yours for sale on there.... |

It depends on how often the bird are in the cage. But i would say that a cage should be at least 30" length. |

Well, due to owning a dog that considers anything small and fluffy as a toy, a few dozen cacti, and having so many nooks and crannies around the room for them to set trapped behind/under, they will be in the cage just about all the time. I'd like to see them flying around the room, but realistically the only one they can safely fly free in is the bathroom.... |

You can't keep parrotlets locked in their cage all the time. They're very active birds and MUST be allowed some flight time EVERY DAY. For as long as possible too. If yours can't come out at all, I really would consider re-homing them. But if you put the dog in another room for a while, I'm sure the birds would be o.k. flying about with you there to supervise them. |
