Nicky. That is a flight cage, right? Looks great. Chipper is the same way. She flies around, plays on her playgyms but is always happy to fly home to play inside! Posted Image

Hello everyone from a very sunny but chilly Hertfordshire.

Here are the cages we keep our lot in.

23 w x 20 d x 30 h (at the highest point) - in inches. Can't do metrics, too old - and I still convert back to "old money" but hey that's a whole other thread there....

I think Kev's absolutely right we are all here to learn as much about our babies as possible, and have a little fun on the way. These are the largest cages we could afford in terms of space and financially. they all seem very happy in them. Pick n Mindy are starting to spend some time out of their cage now as well, so this helps. Will try and get face pics of Mindy later today Kev.

Pay day Friday - woo hoo - more toys!

Yes I always say buy what you can afford and still keep your babies happy. I'm also limited on my space for cages.

You have some nice cages Dansnan :), these are great due the fact that you have large doors on the fromt easy to get into them.

Nice set up, DN :D

We looked at getting those cages, deep catch tray, nice big doors & a variable height roof for toys at different levels

Good choice.

I like that they have the bottom part to store things. Both of my new cages have them. Makes it nice to put their papers and their covers down there.

Beautiful cages! I've never seen one like that! I do like the "split level" design too!

I don't have any parrotlet cage pictures to post but one suggestion that I have is to check your local trades day, flea market, type of places for cages. I would never buy animals there, but a cage is a cage for the most part. We bought our Quakers cage from our local traders village for about 1/3 the retail price. I would suggest buying them in boxes because they are easier to completely clean. We scrubbed every inch of ours because who knows where it's been. It really saved us a bunch of money and we were able to get a very nice cage. Eventually we are going back to get a VERY large one once my in-laws move out and the Quakers have their own room.

This is just my suggestion to new bird owners on a budget. :)

This is similar to Oscar & Ellie's cage:

Our's is a lot nicer as far as side doors, a lot more holders for cups, and the top is not that tall and different design but it gives you an idea. This on retails for about $349 and we paid about $100.

You got a great deal on your cage. There's nothing wrong with buy a cage at a flea market or trade center.

Hi Butterfly girl - We got ours at Pets at Home, we have two big stores quite close to us

Pets at Home

This should link you to the right page £59.99 for the cage but they charge another £29 for the stand. So it is quite expensive really.

The reasons we got these were the size and depth of the tray etc, but also they look quite nice as well.

The tray at the bottom is ideal for storing all their paraphanalia (sp?) as well!!

Hope this helps.
