I bought this cage for my 5 lovebirds so they have alot of space to move around in and they really love the cage but the design of it isn't too good for their little toes. About once a month one of their toes gets stuck inbetween the curved half circle bar decoration and the regular cage bars. Overall it's a great cage and that is the only problem I have had with it.

Wowzers... I cant beleive someone has 5 love birds in there! :( and toes getting caught??? :(

It will be a good starter cage for him :) With lots of play time out of the cage, it shoudl be fine. I personally preffer bigger width for flight, but for the starter cage, it will be ok. I cant see any info on bar spacing but from the pic, it look like 1/2"

It sounds like this one cage might be deffective, no one else has a problem with it. but 5 birds! OH MY! unless they just sleep in it, thats way too small!

tHANKS,

I was digging around in my storage and found a 30Kx 18x18 cage. Is this one better? at least for the short term. I have all my birds in The big hq flight cages, I have 4 of them plus the double, I am just running out of room

Ya know what? You do the best you can for the little guy! I know what it's like to "run out of space". Sure a big huge flight cage would be ideal...but let's face it..how many of us have the room for it? I have two other huge parrot cages in my family room and when I got Cricket I tried to get the biggest cage I could fit in my room without jepordizing his well being. Crickets cage is not "huge" but he's not huge! They are "pint" size parrots...they don't need a Macaw cage! Especially if you only have one in it! He is perfectly content in it. He has all his toys and boings with room to spare...so what I'm trying to say is big is not always better...

In my opinion the cage you have will be fine! ;)

thanks for all the comments. I just got the phone call, I have to meet her tomorrow at 7:00am to pick up the new parrotlet, He is wild from what she tells me but we shall see. I set up the 25"W X 21"D X 30"H cage I have because the 30x18x18 wouldn't accomdate his boing. I will give him a few days to see how it goes and if it looks like he is cramped I will order the bigger cage and hope I can find a good place for it. I will post pictures tomorrow sometime.

Yoshi's dad.

Ps I talked to Olive and Elsie today and they were just sitting there listening to me chirping . THey look a bit better but still need more time to . They are eating corn and peas but still won't touch cucumber. I tried red millet and it is just sitting there too. I will have to try the regular millet
