Will this cage be suitable?

Hello,

I'm getting really excited as I think i may be getting my parrotlet soon!

I have bought a cage and just want to make sure it's big enough. It was in the "budgie cage" section so bar spacing should be ok. The dims are 76L x 45.5W x 46H (cm)

I like the idea of it being wide so he can fly from one side to the other.

I have also bought natural perches and a pedi perch amongst various swings and toys to go in there.....spoilt and I've not got him yet!

I also bought a rope perch but read it's not safe to leave them with cotton rope so thought I could use that for the top of his cage.

Hi

Cage sounds ideal to me, have you a photo?

Have you actually chosen a parrotlet?

Hopefully this link will work! http://m.zooplus.co.uk/shop/birds/bird_cages_and_accessories/parakeet_cages/cages/261925

if the feeders are not suitable i already have some metal bowls that will hang on the bars.

Not chosen a bird yet, not even sure if there is a boy for me yet, hope she doesn't mind me saying but waiting for one of Hayley's babies! blue2 nod2

I looked at your link and was about to come back and comment on the feeders, then saw your further comment.

I would tie the feeders up and use alternatives. Not sure my parrotlets would try to get out of there but they all have different personalities and wouldn't like them to get out when unattended or get stuck ?? Other than that the space should be fine with regular flying and freedom outside of his cage.

Very exciting for you :) :)

Oh and replace the perches but you said you had natural perches on previous post :)

I will get some clips to keep the feeder flaps shut, I did think it looked like a potential escape route.

Yes I have plenty of perches, those that the cage comes with are the wrong way round for flying between!

Thanks for your help Kathryn x

You can use clothes pegs specially the
wooden ones.. I use them for nearly everything
and it also holds millet onto the cages well...
Most of the doors on my cages have pegs
on them just for safety...
The birds luv chewing them for me too>>LOL
You picked a good breeder in Hayley,
I've had a budgie from Hayley,
he is the best.... also
I'm awaiting my tiel from her.... 2.gif nodding
All her P'lets look very good....

Thanks Jan, I wasn't sure pegs would be strong enough put that is reassuring if you use them with no problems.

I saw that you were getting a tie little from Hayley. You must be as excited as I am!
