I need to know where to get a parrotlet harness from. It needs to fit my Green Rumped parrot Pilot as after naming him Pilot he needs to be a Pilot and go flying outside. Could someone tell me where i can get one from to fit her pretty sharpish!!! It needs to have a lead or somthing to go with it. I have failed to find one for her as of yet and someone must know where to get them from. Regards, Matt & Pilot nod2 |

I got a harness for our Quakers at Pet Co. We got a medium for them but they did have small & extra small. Also I have seen them at Pets Mart. I guess it just depends upon what stores you have in your area. |

i haven't seen them for sale in the uk (parrotlet sizes that is) and if pilots a green rump she's also smaller by a little bit than a parrotlet |

O i would not reccomend those harnesses, I got one for beans and it was impossible to get on him, he was soo exhausted after that and all wet from our swetty hands lol. no I wouldnt reccomend those, not for little birds anyways. I would reccomend these flight suites called bird diapers, you would have to order them from the internet though |

Don't feel upset but I wouldn't recommend a harness for such a small bird. They are difficult to get on such a small bird. Secondly no matter how short you clip a small birds wings they always still have somewaht of a flight. If it got out of the harness outside it could get away. I just don't think the harnesses work well on tiny birds. |

I agree...I wouldn't try it either. I have thought about taking Cricket outside. I want to get a smaller cage that I can carry out without too much hassle so he can be with me when I'm working in the garden! :) |

Right, Plan 2 on getting my bird outside. Could anyone recommend a nice cage for a parrotlet as a travel cage and WHERE DO I GET IT FROM??? Nothing to fancy mind you, just something he can sit in with me outside and watch the world go by. Any ideas? |

I got mine at the petstore, I've also seen them at shows (for much less money!). It's really small -- maybe 6"x3" on the floor, but if it's just for a car ride or to sit outside a little while that might not be a problem for you. It's what I brought our little one home in, and she was climbing all over the bars, didn't seem to think it was too small at all. We have a tiny water bottle and a little plastic dish for food in there for her too. I don't have one of these, but they even sell soft-sided ones, with a shoulder handle, like a purse, so you can put the little metal cage inside to make it easier to carry. They can't see out very much then though. |

I went to a pet store and bought smaller cages for my birds to go outside in too. They weren't that expensive. My birds go outside every day weather permitting. |

Yeah, you could go to a pet store and get a small travel cage...... http://www.parrotsparrotsparrots.com/p-travel-carriers.htm Or you could oeder it there (the above link) I have the same exact set up. The travel cage AND the cover up thing. Zuben loves it! I got mine from PetSmart...but the cover was in the hamster section, LOL |
