I thought that this would make a good thread for anyone who has any training tips to give to new parrotlet owners. Even the most simplest things can make a difference to help someone, so come on and lets share some of the things that have helped us or NOT helped us train our parrotlets. I tend keep an eye on all the parrotlet boards that i have found to find out what is going on, most of the time i don't reply or post on them unless i can see that someone needs help or isn't getting the right answer. The most common post is.. I've had my parrotlet a couple of weeks and it will not step up and it keeps flying away ... biting me. etc here is what i tend to reply to these type of posts
I really do believe that a lot of people think that because the parrotlet is a small bird that it can be trained in a short amount of time, when as you know this is not the case.So that is what this thread is for to give tips and even things that shouldn't be done. kev :) Please try not to chat in this thread or it could end up pages and pages long and then people will tend not to read it. if you notice that someone has put something you really like or disaprove of start a new thread and chat about it there. |
