Hey everybody...how BIG are your parrotlets? With all the different information I've been reading, and checking out pictures and videos, and talking to breeders, I am getting some wildly different ideas about this, far enough apart that I don't think "individual difference" is gonna cover it.
The species information I've looked up said 5 inches long, which I figure is about the size of a lovebird (but maybe less chunky?). I've seen some images that seem to back that up, but the most recent breeder I spoke to had a whole cage-full right there at the time, and they were about the same size as our zebra fiches! They were fully feathered and out of the nest, but I suppose they could still have some growing to do...but I'm trying to get an accurate picture. It's not really a determining factor, I'd just like to know ahead of time what I should expect from a full-grown bird.

Talked to hubby yesterday to make sure he was okay with it, he is but thinks I should also consider a cockatiel (one of my favorites but I had thought it would be to shrill for him). But either way we end up going, it looks like a birdie will be coming home soon! YAY!

Laura :)

They are not very big but if you are wanting a small bird with a big attitude then a parrolet is the bird for you.

In comparison to a Lovebird...a little bit smaller! But definately bigger than a Finch!
